I can't stop thinking about how Penelope praised Colin's writing. And it was actually smut, personal smut.

But I think what makes it beautiful. Despite of the content, Penelope really loved his writing in itself. The man barely gets praised by anyone but her.

And to be praised by Penelope who is not only a avid reader but also writer, is the biggest praise you can get.

Danny runs to Gotham after a reveal with his parents gone wrong. Bruce Wayne ends up catching on to the fact that he's a homeless kid in need of a good home. Danny, however, does not want to deal with another rich, potentially-insane, definitely-obsessed A-hole, so he does his best to steer clear of him. Doubly so when Batman takes an interest, as he want to put his hero days behind him.

Eventually, Danny, sick of running and wanting a way to make the two stop hunting him, decides that he should let someone else adopt him instead. Cut to him being found by Harley Quinn, who decides that she should totally pull a Bruce and adopt this black-haired, blue-eyed child. Hopefully Ivy won't mind!

Welp thank you pal for making me absolutely insane with this request 👍 I ran through a few hypotheticals and realized I had to shift some things around since there were so many absolutely tragic outcomes. I worked something out but damn if it didn’t make me emotional to think about how uniquely rough Amane has it. Even making sure she's in a good place at the end, this got pretty serious, so warnings for child abuse and cult references.

(So in canon, Kotoko goes in order and attacks Fuuta, but Kazui steps in. Then she attacks Mahiru while he’s distracted with his injuries. She’s about to attack Amane, but Mikoto gets in the way (my hc that he did it on purpose survives!). By the time they reach a draw, Kazui is back, and the two of them can prevent Kotoko from any further action against Amane. Sticking to this apparent system of three attacks and one rescue, I’m just shuffling around the injuries for this story. Fuuta’s attack went unnoticed, and he’s in the same state as canon Mahiru. Mikoto steps in before Kotoko can fight Mahiru, so Mappi’s the one who get out physically unscathed. While Mikoto checks on Mahiru, recovers himself, or discovers Fuuta, Kotoko is able to attack Amane next. Kazui comes to help, but not before she leaves Amane looking like canon Fuuta.)

Mahiru could practically feel her heart shatter into a million pieces when Amane finally cried in front of her. She hadn’t shed a single tear yesterday – it was the shock, Shidou said. Mahiru was skeptical. After all, she had been shocked, too, and cried plenty.

Amane woke as she came in with breakfast. She took a moment to survey herself, bandages peeking out from beneath her pajamas and an eyepatch securely over her right eye. As calmly as one might say “good morning,” she started to cry. Mahiru might have missed it, if Amane hadn’t wiped at her good eye with her sleeve.

“Oh, sweetheart…!” Mahiru rushed over to her. “It’s okay, I’m here.” She wanted nothing more than to wrap the girl in a secure embrace, but she remembered the mass of bandages that were around her chest. Shidou had mentioned broken ribs and bruises. It took everything in her not to cry along with Amane, at the thought.

“I can get you another ice pack, if you need. Or more medicine.” Her mind spun with ways to help with pain. Many of the first aid supplies had been used to keep Fuuta from the brink of death, but surely there were extras to spare for Amane.

The girl just shook her head.

She muttered, “I can’t… I…I’m going to be punished, I’m going to be punished…”

“No! You’re safe now.” Mahiru placed her hands gently on Amane’s arms. “Kotoko’s not coming back. We’re all watching over you. You’re safe. She’s not going to hurt you anymore.”

“That’s not…” Amane pulled away. Her voice stayed level, despite hiccups interrupting her. A hand reached up to her eyepatch. “It’s this. It’s all of this. It’s sinful. I took it off last night, but he must have…” She started unwrapping it. “They’re going to punish me...”

With a careful motion, Mahiru held it in place and took Amane’s hands into her own. She’d been picking up on the signs ever since they arrived here together, and a final wave of understanding washed over her.

“I can’t let you do that.”

Amane’s expression twisted, though words came out far more frantic than fiery. “Let me go.”

Mahiru didn’t. “I’m sorry. Amane, you need this treatment.”

“That is not your decision to make. That is not any human’s decision to make.”

Mahiru pressed her lips together. “I know. But I can’t watch as you… I can’t sit by again while someone…” She was careful not to apply any pressure, but she could no longer fight the urge to gather Amane up in her arms. “You don’t need to be afraid of those people, anymore.”

“I’m not afraid.” Amane hiccuped. “They love me, and I love them. I need to be good for them.”

“I love you, and I don’t want to see you in pain.”

“You just pity me because I’m young.”

“Why does your age matter? You are a lovely young woman – you are my friend – and I can’t bear to see you in pain.”

The two sat in silence for a moment. Mahiru doubted she would take that as an answer; Amane had refused to call any of the others her friend. At least she didn’t argue. In fact, it seemed she was leaning into the embrace a bit more. She sighed a shaky breath into Mahiru’s uniform.

“Listen, Amane. Can you do me a favor? I’m trying to be a good girl, too. To make up for something awful, I need to make sure you’re alright. Can you help me? Can we be good together?”

A long pause followed. Amane’s voice spoke up, ever so gently.

“I suppose I can consider it.” She added quickly, “for the sake of your redemption. Of course.”

“Of course.”

Emilion von Valancius everybody. the voidship's local older butch who got out of sanctioning about a month and a half ago, did a week in the militarum where she mostly started trying to set up contraband trading, then got brought in by theodora.

she lived on a forge world and spent most of her time fixing things that were below tech priests focus [shes who you call in to fix your printer or change a lightbulb if you dont want a 5 month wait for a moderately pissed off tech priest to walk in beep at you then walk out] so she knows her way around a reasonable amount of tech and considering she isnt adding to pasqal's stress [destroying things] he'll tolerate it. she also keeps calling abelard a cute young man [he is older than her fyi and she's gay shes not interested, but she holds both points are still true] and he gets this mild polite little blush every time

I will never make this because it would be for an audience of one (me) but ever since reading "If we Were Villains" (story about serious drama kids in college who perform shakespeare and deal with a murder) I have been entertaining the thought of a crack fic crossover with High School Musical The Musical The Series where the staff decides they will no longer put on shakespeare after the tragic accident that happened at Thanksgiving, because Shakespeare plays would only increase the tension and drama. So they hire Ms. Jen who decides their spring play will actually be High School Musical (which exists in the 90s in this universe) and it ruins the vibe so much that everyone gives up on being dark and mysterious because they're universally pissed at Ms Jen for making them learn choreoraphed basketball dancing.

#if we were villains is actually genuinely good and has actual literary worth and pulls from shakespeare in an intelligent meaningful way #but unfortunately all i can do is comedy so this is the only fan content i have to offer :(#THE THING IS iwwv is just hsmtmts if it hsmtmts was good and also they committed crimes #they utilize the same parallel of casting choices with real life drama which I love #umm so casting: Meredith would be Sharpay Obvi. I think it would be really funny if James was cast as Ryan bc they hate eachother and would #have to pretend to be siblings working together. And I think ashley tisdale and Lucas Gabreel actually didn't get along when filming #also i love the thought of Ms Jen looking at James and going “i know what you are”#HOWEVER it would be more interesting if james was Chad to Oliver's Troy (which is really just reversing their Romeo and Juliet moment)#bc chad is like nooo don't do theater... stick with me and do basketball... but it would be Coded Subtextually #Unfortunately Wren would be typecast as Gabriella and I don't think that would cause drama bc I don't believe James actually liked her!#I think it was comp het bc she was very sweet and nonthreatening as opposed to Meredith's big flirting energy so she would be a “safe” crus #lets lean into that actually. this gives Wren a chance to have a personality (bc I enjoy this book but it is not good at fleshing out women #So oliver and Wren spend more time together and kind of talk about James a little and Wren is like yeah James is very sweet #and I like him but it feels so hard to get him to feel comfortable with me... i guess he's just closed off and doesn't talk much #we also get to see more of her personality and interests maybe she's like I relate to gabriella because I also like to Read :) feminism #and oliver is like Hmm That Is Not My Experience With Him perhaps our bond is deeper and James does like me Hm #And then Meredith can flirt with him as Sharpay and James gets pissed and in character gets very intense about how Troy can't join THEATER #that's why he's upset and sad bc sharpay represents theater and only that reason and nothing else and he isn't in love with oliver At All #Alexander can be Ryan now since James is Chad (and he's also Gay) and Filippa can be Kenzie bc they're both queer coded #Anyway at rehearsal one day Meredith and James and Oliver are having their fighting over troy moment and then Meredith stops and is like #wait guys. This musical is so freaking stupid. why are we even doing this #and their mutual frustration at their art being turned into a farce is enough to bond them together and they're like #we need to focus on our REAL enemy: ms Jen #and then they hatch a scheme and it's probably like. They dump a bucket of fake blood on her at opening night a la carrie #and then put on their own rebellious production... it still has to be a musical because i like musicals #families with children are in the audience and they're like OK FOLKS! People need to learn to hate a character without coming up with the most BS excuses.

You cannot actually tell me Naruto learned more from Jiraiya, or Sasuke learned more from Orochimaru than they did from Kakashi

Jiraiya taught Naruto Rasagan and Summoning.

All we see Sasuke get from Orochimaru is his summons, and he also has an eagle summon so clearly he couldn’t even just have only the snakes to connect him to his ‘master’

Meanwhile, Kakashi taught Naruto chakra nature, how to use his shadow clones, Basic Chakra control, is stated to have improved all three of his students exponentially before the chunin exams, and of course he taught all three of his students the importance of teamwork and protecting their friends over the mission. A lesson that Naruto and Sasuke both take to heart in their own way.

He taught Sasuke the chidori, which Sasuke evolved into other types of chidori style jutsu’s. He also helped him improve his taijutsu so much in a month that Gai, the Taijutsu master, was impressed and concerned about the training Kakashi put him under for that month.

Sakura is the only one who we can confidently say learned more from her master, and Kakashi can’t teach medical ninjitsu (he only knows basic medical ninjitsu and that’s only after the way) and states himself he’s not the best at teaching chakra control (hence why he asked Ebisu to help Naruto with that during the month between chunin exam fights)

Hate Kakashi all you want but calling him a ‘Bad Sensei’ is factually incorrect for what we see. Even when he screws up it’s not out of malice or thinking he just knows better. He’s genuinely trying to help his students and just screws up.

It happens.

#wanna talk about how much Care the Sensei put into their students?#mistakes aside Kakashi clearly cared about every single one of his students #he cheered Naruto on and was proud of him in his chunin exam fights #he assured Sasuke that he would protect him in the land of waves arc when he saw him freaking out #he tried to comfort Sakura when she was upset about Naruto and Sasuke fighting #he tried to reach out to Sasuke when he saw him crumbling after his interaction with Itachi #he was always there to put Naruto back and get him to try and think things through as well as being determined to protect him #his first action when he came back to life after Pein’s attack was to find Naruto and make sure he was alright #when he realized Sakura was going after sasuke to try and kill him he chased after her to try and stop her #and when he realized a fight was going to happen he tried to take the burden of facing Sasuke off of Sakura’s shoulders #like did he do everything right?#no!#no one can #but he cared and he tried and he had everything stacked against him and his students #and he STILL fought tooth and nail for them because he loved them

i think human nature/family of blood is a really good two parter in how it manages to show how full of shit ten is 🫶

#look . i LOVE ten . esp whatevers going on w him in s3 he's horrible and i like that #but just !! martha :(#its so incredibly unfair to martha he doesnt unleash his wrath on the Family he chooses to hide instead and okay yeah fair #and sure u can say the tardis chose the setting and time period for them to hide in but like #did that not filter in to his calculations he went through all that turned himself human put his friendship with martha to the test in #the worst way possible. knowing she wouldn't let herself leave him even if he was Abhorrent towards her (and he was) because #of her duty to the universe and beyond and whatever . to blend in and keep the Family off their tails #and she's put in a demeaning position and degraded and even he doesn't seem to care much for her but she still hangs on #and then in the end its like its all for naught. all that pain and suffering martha went through being the only one w her wits about her #he had the capacity to deal w the threat the whole time he had the ability to dole out a horrible punishment he could definitely #have dealt with them a different way than that too .#and instead in his quest to be the bigger person he ends up putting martha through the horrors and then #does the same with the Family anyway ! i dont think he can ever tell her how harshly he dealt with them #surely this isnt an original thought im just thinking Way too much about blue moon by niki #he Does care more about being good than being good to her specifically !! and its so upsetting theyre so volatile i miss them #its more complicated than that sure but at the same time. it sort of isnt .#anyway martha jones my love my life u deserved at least a billion apologies alongside the thanks like god . whats wrong w him #oh and also he wants to move on without properly talking about it . act as if it never happened #like girl be fucking considerate for ONCE she just went through a personal hell for you !!! how insanely lonely she must of been #i dont believe martha ever let him just brush past it w no acknowledgement like yes i think she definitely didnt want to discuss the #accidental confession but i Do think she would sit him down to finally get him to Accept he cant just take her wherever in the past #if he's not ready to look out for her . its a vital conversation i think they need to have otherwise martha would just walk out there #not even love could make her stay through that its been established already she has the strength to try walk away #and also to try and but through his bullshit and demand answers . and here more than ever she deserves his acknowledgement and he Knows it
