alessia gets jealous when you befriend the new arsenal signing.
alessia's jaw was clenched as she watched you run around with the newest signee. you had been at arsenal for years, long enough to be the unofficial leader of the welcoming party. whenever alessia had signed, you had been the first one at the training grounds to let her into your group. it was customary for you to do with anybody who was new, but this time, alessia was taking it personally.
it wasn't your fault, not really. alessia wouldn't have even gotten upset if katie had unhelpfully pointed out your past relationship with the new player. alessia hadn't even known that the two of you had dated at first, but katie apparently knew all about it. in fact, she had told alessia everything that she could just to fuck with the tall blonde.
"less, babe, do you want to come out tonight with the rest of the girls?" you asked. there was a hopeful look on your face. alessia had been in a piss poor mood, especially around the rest of the girls. it was why you had, admittedly, been avoiding her. the two of you hadn't even been spending all of your normal alone time together because of alessia's behavior.
"of course i do, why wouldn't i?" alessia asked you. she seemed distracted, and you noticed how her gaze was still partially on your ex. it was nice to be friends with her again, despite how badly the relationship had ended. you wanted to explain to alessia that you'd never in a million years get back together with the other girl, but you doubted that alessia would have listened to you.
alessia liked to claim that she was above getting jealous, but you knew different. in fact, the more that you thought about alessia's recent behavior and your newly rekindled friendship with arsenal's new girl, you realized that alessia was jealous. she had been jealous, but instead of saying something and communicating, she had decided to throw a big, stupid tantrum.
"well, with the way you've been lately, i wasn't sure. i thought i'd check. if you weren't going to go, i was just gonna let em give me a ride." you knew that it was wrong, but you couldn't help yourself. riling alessia up was just too easy, and it must have been an irish trait to love doing it because you were sure that katie was at the root of this problem. she had been the only one on the team to know just how mad you had been for your ex.
"damn, if they get any closer, i think we'll get kicked out." alessia's face set into a frown as she looked over to where leah was pointing. there was a group of girls dancing with you, but alessia's eyes zeroed in on the way that your ex held onto your waist. it was far more tame than how katie was grabbing your body as she ground your ass against her hips, but alessia didn't care.
"i should go get her," alessia said. she tried to get up, only to be held back by sab and lotte. "they'll give someone the wrong idea dancing like that. i don't want anybody to think (y/n) and emily are together."
"emily isn't the problem. foord, go get your girlfriend!" leah called out. with katie being pulled away, alessia's attention was forced onto the only person touching you still. she sat there with leah keeping her down for an agonizingly long time. alessia was glad when the song ended and you came over to the table for a drink break.
"less, baby, are you okay?" you asked as you sat down in her lap. she didn't answer you, instead opting to pull you by your hair into a kiss. she knew just where to grab to get you moaning and whining into her mouth. it was a big show, one that had leah pushing the two of you out of the club. "what was that about? i'll tell katie to tone it down next time."
"better yet, tell that other girl to keep her hands off of you. you're mine now. she had her chance, and she blew it. not my fault that your taste improved with age," alessia said. she had never sounded so cocky before. normally, that sort of thing was a huge turn-off for you, but with alessia, you found yourself loving it.
"calm down, like you said, i'm yours now. you don't have to get aggressive with her, okay?" you placed your hand on alessia's chest as the two of you stood outside. she nodded as she took your hand in hers, but that didn't change the look in her eyes as she looked at you.
alessia looked at you like you were going to be her last meal. the intensity of her gaze didn't falter once on the way home. if anything, it seemed to grow in intensity as the two of you got closer to her place. you thought that alessia's stare was going to melt your clothes off by the time that you were walking through the front door.
"get back to the bedroom, i'll be there in a minute," alessia ordered you. there was a moment when you hesitated, prompting alessia to slap your ass as she turned you towards the hallway. you walked forward, cheeks burning red as you did. alessia followed you in a couple of moments later, dropping a couple of water bottles on the bedside table as she made her way over to you.
"are you going to get the strap?" you asked. alessia shook her head as she started to strip out of her clothing. you swallowed thickly as her body was revealed to you, something that never ceased to amaze you. "fuck, less."
"come here and turn around," alessia ordered. she was being very demanding, which you normally would have had a bit of a problem with. instead, you found yourself almost giddy about the way that she was telling you what to do. "your ass looks amazing in this skirt."
"thank you baby," you told her. she placed a gentle hand on your back, pushing the bottom of your crop top as she did. "you looked hot tonight. i wished you would have danced with me."
"this is much better than a dance, i promise. i'm going to make you feel so good, just relax." alessia placed a kiss to the small of your back. you were sure that she could feel how wet you were if she leaned in a little more, but alessia was careful to keep her distance. "can i touch you? i want to have a taste of what's mine."
"fuck less, you can always touch me," you told her. alessia smiled as she pushed your skirt up completely. she kept you bent over as she moved your thong to the side. the hand that had been on your back had moved down to caress your ass as alessia ran her tongue through your folds.
alessia moaned at the taste of you on her tongue. she lapped at your cunt, just trying to make you as much of a mess as she could. alessia didn't care about making you cum quickly, she wanted to tease you long enough to have you dripping down her face. alessia needed the satisfaction of knowing that she could have you coming completely undone on a whim.
"you taste so good," alessia told you as she brushed her thumb against your clit. "makes me clench my thighs to think about sometimes."
"y-you think about me like that?" you don't know why it surprised you so much to hear that. alessia was definitely not as innocent as leah and beth had you believing, but the idea of her thinking of fucking you spun you for a loop.
"all of the time, but i haven't gotten to touch you like this in a while. you've been running away from me because of your new little friend, but i doubted that she ever had you dripping like this. you're making such a mess on my fingers, one that i can't wait to clean up. i swear that i could cum at just the taste of you," alessia said. each one of her words had your stomach clenching. you were so close, but alessia was constantly giving you just enough not to cum.
"lessi, if i beg, will you let me cum?" you asked her. alessia leaned down and bit your ass cheek, causing you to squeal a little.
"you can cum whenever you want once you tell me that you love me." alessia had never been one to withhold your orgasms like that. the two of you had tried edging, but alessia's resolve had broken the moment she noticed tears forming in the corners of your eyes. you weren't on the verge of tears, but you knew that much more teasing would bring you there.
"i love you, alessia. i love you so much that it hurts me sometimes," you told her. alessia stood up and slid two fingers inside of you, pushing her hips in for a little added force. alessia gave you a couple of straight thrusts before she started to curl her fingers inside of you. "less."
"it's okay, i know baby. let it happen. i'll give you whatever you want after. doesn't that sound nice baby? just relax and cum for me," alessia cooed. her voice was soft, much softer than it had been all night. you felt yourself relax as your alessia seemed to be coming back to you.
your orgasm took your legs out from beneath you, but alessia was there to make sure you didn't faceplant on the mattress. she laid you down on the bed and moved to lay behind you. you felt her open up your legs before she started to clean you up. your body jerked and jolted a little, but alessia kept you pinned down.
"i know you're sensitive, but this is important," alessia reminded you. she took care of you, even if you didn't always it. alessia guided you into a seated position for you to drink one of the waters she had brought up. it had been sitting out of the fridge just enough to be deemed "drinkable" by you.
"you know that i do love you, right? you don't have to hold my orgasms over my head to hear it," you said as you shoved her shoulder. alessia nodded sheepishly, having felt a little guilty about it after the words had left her mouth.
"yeah, i know that you love me, and i love you too. it's just been messing with me pretty bad having your ex here, and katie won't stop reminding me about it. it's infuriating, and everything kind of got away from me," alessia ranted. you pulled her into your arms and pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "i'm sorry if i've been a bitch."
"you have, but it's okay. i guess you can't be a total sweetheart all the time," you joked. alessia seemed to be glad that you weren't holding her behavior over the past couple of weeks over her head because now that she was back in your arms properly, she felt a bit ridiculous about being jealous in the first place.

let's diagnose the Irish guy from punch-out
disclaimer: I am but a lass with ADD, so while I do know a lot from both my own experiences and research, you should still take my ramblings with a few grains of salt. I encourage anyone reading to form their own headcanons, and would love to hear them!
So, the Punch-Out wiki (in its current state) implies that Aran Ryan has some sort of mental disorder, so I projected onto dissected him like a deep sea specimen, and may have found out what's going on in his very empty and screwed up head
🎉congrats! it's attention deficit hyperactivity disorder! (probably)🎉
ADHD has a bunch of characteristics that go with it, but I'll only be going over the ones that apply to Aran and are displayed in canon. Of course, I'll insert some speculation here and there to further support and reason through some of my points. For more reading, I suggest checking out organizations like Mayo Clinic and the National Institute of Mental Health, as well as any self-reports and blogs by people with ADHD (the latter tends to be more personal and far less clinical-sounding, but are just as helpful). Wikipedia is also a good place to go for anything, and you might even find yourself down a few rabbit holes!
Hyperactivity and restlessness
Aran exhibits this in PO Wii heavily. He has a high-stamina fighting style with lots of shuffling around, always bouncing around Little Mac. He can only be stunned through counter-punches and being faster than him (During round breaks, Doc Louis literally says "beat Aran Ryan to the punch"). It is extremely difficult to KO or TKO Aran without intercepting him due to this mechanic. During round breaks, regardless of how beaten and bruised he is, Aran will bounce his leg constantly in Contender and harass the audience in Title Defense.
Tumblr media
Impulsivity and recklessness
This one's consistent between his two appearances, surprisingly. In Wii, Aran is portrayed as a dirty cheater who would "do anything to win", according to supplementary comics. He has the most rule infractions in the Punch-Out series, at 32 combined. He stuffs his gloves with horseshoes before his Contender fight and brings a homemade flail made from a broken boxing glove to his bout with Little Mac in Title Defense. During matches, he makes use of headbutts and elbows quite frequently. These are both illegal and very stupid moves, due to the potential of self-inflicted trauma. His flail in Title Defense could be a sign of creativity by thinking outside the box, which is often seen in people with ADHD. In supplementary material for Super Punch-Out!!, it's implied that a fight usually broke out whenever Aran was made fun of in school, showing that he was reckless during his childhood as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Emotional dysregulation
In Super Punch-Out!!, Aran Ryan is rather grumpy, and is one of two characters in the entire game to never smile in any of his sprites (the other being Nick Bruiser). Compared to his Wii portrayal, Aran is as clean as it gets in this game, even complimenting the player during the credits. Supplementary material attributes his lower mood to the teasing he endured during his childhood, and that he got into boxing to channel some of his pent-up anger. Depending on how you view it, him being so angry over his peers making fun of his name could be an overblown reaction. This hot-headedness is retained in PO Wii (which could be a sign of impulsivity), but he's essentially the inverse of how he was in Super. He's boisterous, reckless, dishonest, and smiles even while he's stunned. Many of Aran's reactions to being hit are him laughing, which might imply masochism on some level, but is nonetheless seen as an inappropriate response to being hit. He displays some antisocial traits, even, as seen when he throws aside the referee in Title Defense. This is likely caused by a low tolerance of authority, but is still an extreme reaction to the referee just trying to maintain order in the ring (good luck with that, ref...).
Difficulty starting tasks
This is a sign of executive dysfunction, which is closely linked to inattention in people with ADHD. It's exhibited in his Contender intro, where he spends the first three frames of the cutscene messing around. For this one, I'm going to compare Aran's behavior in his Contender intro to all the other boxers that spend their entire intro cutscene in a gym/dojo/training environment, spend the majority of their cutscene explicitly training, or are in several training environments. Here's a neat little chart, where the numbers represent how many slides they spent being "off-task":
Tumblr media
can you tell that graphic design is my passion
I've counted any activity that builds strength and endurance (like eating, running, lifting, or practicing magic in Tiger's case), or requires a large amount of work put in to do (like chopping trees or playing hockey, for Bear Hugger). Some of you might be wondering why I didn't include certain characters, but that's because they're either in a combat setting, switch from training to non-training settings, or are doing unrelated things in what could be a training setting.
If Aran has 3 instances of being off-task, he ties with TD Kaiser, Don, and Macho in terms of how long they're off-task for. If "gearing up" is being counted as being on-task, he only ties with TD Kaiser and himself. Of course, context matters heavily. TD Kaiser, Don, and Macho aren't off-task purely for the sake of slacking off, but show developments of their story throughout Career Mode. TD Aran is off-task for storytelling as well, but it's not motivated by a grudge towards Mac like the other three and falls under the normal definition of "slacking off". Speaking of cutscenes,
Inattention and distractibility
Aran shows this several times in Title Defense. In his intro, he notices a rope in the trash can and gets the idea of making his flail, seemingly forgetting all about training for his match with Little Mac. During round intermissions, he's distracted by the audience throwing objects at him, and threatens them instead of spending the break resting or strategizing.
Anxiety
ADHD is highly comorbid with anxiety, due to executive dysfunction (mainly sensory processing), and the risk of overthinking. I admit that this one is a bit of a stretch, since general restlessness and anxiety are linked in many mood disorders, but it's shared between both of his appearances. Super's version of Aran being caught up in his own past can be a sign of social anxiety as well as falling victim to overthinking. In PO Wii, the leg bouncing can be a sign of anxiety for various reasons, whether it be physiological (ex. outside stimuli being unpleasant) or psychological (ex. overthinking the match). His stance in Exhibition's menu for his Contender match is also a little shaky, which is common in fight-or-flight reactions, though it could also be plain hyperactivity.
Pressured speech
In PO Wii. Aran usually talks very quickly, which can be caused by the classic ADHD experience of "having a lot to say, and feeling like there's no time to say it". It's very likely that it's just be a characteristic of his accent, though.
🍀🌠🌈this is a cool section break🌈🌠🍀
There's plenty more symptoms you could make arguments for, but these were some of his more prominent traits. ADHD shares symptoms with a lot of other disorders, though, so let's see some other possibilities...
Counter-Diagnosis #1: Bipolar II Disorder
Bipolar II, according to the National Institute of Mental Health, is characterized by a a pattern of depressive states and hypomanic states (notice the hypo- prefix). We can attribute Aran's demeanor in Super to a depressive state, and his demeanor in Wii to a hypomanic state. I've chosen bipolar II instead of I due to the specifications of a "manic state" not fitting his Wii portrayal as closely.
Hypomania (literally meaning "less than mania") shares many characteristics with full-blown mania, but is more toned-down. People who have experienced genuine hypomanic states usually describe it as helpful towards their productivity, while manic states are notoriously more harmful and often directly affect productivity. Symptoms of mania include restlessness, racing thoughts, pressured speech, overconfidence, increased agitation, impulsiveness, a disconnect from one's surroundings, extreme anxiousness, and many others. Already, we can observe many of these symptoms in Aran's Wii portrayal that are shared with the ADHD diagnosis. However, hypomania tends to lack the "reality disconnect", and we can see that Aran is very aware of his surroundings. Him being in the World Circuit in both Super and Wii can be interpreted as a sign of the hypomanic states being more helpful than detrimental (maybe less so in Super because of the existence of the Special Circuit, but I digress).
I think this take has a lot of ground, maybe more than the ADHD hypothesis. A lot of my earlier points in favor of him having ADHD can also apply to him being bipolar (specifically hyperactivity, recklessness, and especially emotional dysregulation) as well, which blurs the line in some places, but it's still a very strong argument.
Counter-Diagnosis #2: Oppositional Defiant Disorder
According to Mayo Clinic, ODD is "a frequent and ongoing pattern of anger, irritability, arguing and defiance towards parents and other authority figures". The characteristics of ODD can be observed in both SPO's and Wii's Aran.
I think this one's weaker, for a few reasons. First, ODD is considered clinically relevant only during childhood; from then, it can "evolve" into a number of other conditions, including but not limited to borderline personality disorder and the aforementioned bipolar disorder. Obviously, Aran isn't a child, but he could have had this disorder in the past and "grew out of it" from a clinical standpoint.
You could make an argument for the anger issues due to a few of his behaviors, as well as his voice lines in Wii having a sort of "growl" to them, but his irritability is infrequent and mild enough to where it can be attributed back to emotional dysregulation, and the "growl" could just be how the character or his voice actor naturally sounds (I haven't found any clips of Stephen Webster speaking out-of-character, but if anyone has any, I'd love to hear them).
Counter-Diagnosis #3: Antisocial Personality Disorder
The DSM-5 defines APD as consistent displays of deceitfulness, issues with authority, impulsivity, irritability, recklessness, and a diminished capacity for remorse after hurting someone. Again, a few of these symptoms are shared with ADHD, so there's a significant grey area here. Yet, I believe it's stronger than the ODD argument, since his cheating can be a sign of deceitfulness and his apparent antisocial traits in Wii. However, boxing as a combat sport doesn't leave much room for feeling remorse, since doing so can result in throwing or forfeiting a match. I'm not going to count the lack of remorse due to the nature of the sport, but you as a reader can interpret it how you like.
Counter-Diagnosis #4: Autism Spectrum Disorder
Because of how broad the autism spectrum is, you could easily go crazy in-depth with this. I'll do a miniature version of the ADHD symptom setup, which includes traits observed in canon. I won't be including every shared trait, but do keep in mind that ADHD is comorbid with a bunch of different spectrum disorders, and misdiagnoses, especially in women, are fairly common in the real world because of it. I know I'm going to fail to list certain symptoms due to just how many ASD traits there are, so if anyone reading has any more connections to make, be my guest! This "counter-diagnosis" section is for provoking further discussion, after all, and I'm happy to learn from you all.
Hyposensitivity
In PO Wii. To wind up for his right uppercut, Aran hits himself in the side of the head, and after round breaks in Contender, he hits himself repeatedly. Considering his gloves are confirmed to be loaded in his Contender fight, his relative indifference might be a sign of this. People with autism have reported tuning out various stimuli if they become overwhelmed by a bunch of them (sometimes related to meltdown or shutdown), and it's possible that that's what Aran is doing here. The bright lights of the venue combined with the crowd noise and the feeling of being sweaty could be overstimulating, and the supposed hyposensitivity towards being hit is caused by this "tuning out" to avoid a shutdown mid-bout.
Stimming (repetitive movements)
In PO Wii. The leg bounce in his Contender round break can be interpreted as a stim, as well as the wind-ups for his right uppercut (bopping himself in the head) and headbutt (choosing to wind up on the ropes). His bouncing around Mac could also be stimming.
Pathological demand avoidance
This phenomenon can also be comorbid with anxiety, which happens to be a risk factor for ADHD, so we're looping back around with this one. PDA is characterized by a person exhibiting an intense aversion to something that is asked of them, even if they wanted to do it beforehand. It can be associated with feelings of unfairness and like they don't have any control, so someone with PDA may "break the rules" to feel as though they have some control over what happens to them. Aran's high infraction count in Wii could be a sign of a more obsessive form of this. Avoiding the process of carrying out the demand can be conflated with executive dysfunction as well.

TL;DR get this man into a psychiatrist's office ASAP

i wanna write fanfics but i'm not sure how to keep everyone in character and to write normal dialogue. do you have any advice? thank you!
Okay so, I've written fanfiction and roleplayed for nine years, and I know it's scary and hard at first, but eventually with enough practice, writing will become as easy as breathing air.
First thing I do is envision the scene in my mind, like a movie! What's the setting? The mood? What kind of characters are here? What's the plot? Materialize all of this in your brain and do not force yourself to make dialogue, it'll come up to you naturally. Think of yourself as the actor for all these characters, feel their emotions, study their motives, backgrounds, passions and even body mannerisms.
If you're dealing with a pairing or characters that correlate with each other, try to think. What are their similarities and opposites? Are they really all that similar or is it one or two few traits? This is where the Venn Diagram comes in! That's the method I've been taught at school, and honestly, I could make a list but the Venn Diagram helps me visualize things better. To be honest I have sharp memory to things I'm fixated in, so I don't do it physically, but it's very useful! And YES, while studying these characters annotate everything that could be useful in writing dialogue.
Do they have an accent? A lisp? Is there any vocabulary depending of where they were raised?
I have things to say about these things in dialogue and the first two are more personal and up to my taste.
Personally when people write "accents" that aren't like Country or Irish accents that actually have different words in the vocabulary, when you replace the letters to make the "sound" and in a way create new words, not only does it look messy, it IS messy to read! It's an unfortunate phenomenon in the Team Fortress 2 Fandom lol.
EXAMPLE: "Viz is not good. Vhat was a vad decision."
For these instances, use regional words and spellings for the dialogue, it says much more than what I've told you. Are they british? Use words like "favourite" instead of "favorite" etc. Trust me, the readers aren't dumb people, you can do ONE paragraph describing that your character has an accent and they would understand.
I think my gripe against that style of writing isn't only aesthetically but also because I'm bilingual (my native tongue being Spanish) so honestly, it would look a little offensive reading a fanfiction where my type of accent is typed like that.
When writing bilingual people ALSO avoid this:
Tumblr media
Like prideling said, that one's a big example of what bilingual people do. Even in their own native language! I constantly forget to say "accurate" in Spanish lmao.
And we do not "switch" languages, we aren't Dora The Explorer. We can greet and talk normally to people. Only times I'd say bilinguals happen to jump back at their native tongue accidentally it's when they're surprised? It's happened to me, but for a very short time. Bilingual readers prefer to be represented with the struggles of knowing two languages and showcasing their culture throughout descriptive paragraphs over anything.
Anyway, moving on... DIALOGUE!
This is a classic. Do NOT get comfortable with the verb said. Try using other words like: exclaimed, announced, warned, shouted, whispered, etc!
The more you write, the more you'll learn about these verbs, adverbs and adjectives and it'll come handy tremendously. We don't want to have too much repetition do we?
Tumblr media
I am also handing you this emotion wheel that will be incredibly useful if you're starting writing:
Tumblr media
Speaking of repetition... Remember that thing I said about studying your characters? Try to avoid too much repetition of one word between the two characters. As you may have noticed people have a cadence and ways of speaking. If you do that a lot, people will break from the immersion and think it's you who's talking, not the character.
Another classic! SHOW, DON'T TELL.
If you're into writing, you'll probably have heard this saying before. All writers have committed this sin when they started writing, using adverbs and adjectives too obsessively instead of narrating how the character feels.
Is your character anxious? How about instead of doing:
“Fuck! Fuck, fuck, fuck! What am I supposed to do now!?” He anxiously exclaimed.
We do...
“Fuck! Fuck, fuck, fuck!” He tightly gripped onto his jet black hair and ripped it from his scalp into shreds. Pain was the last thing he cared about when a bigger torture was on his mind. His chest constricted, his lungs having less oxygen filled with hot air. The corners of his eyes burned, and his brain constantly banged to the corners of his skull begging to free it from this horrible outcome. The man started to lose his senses, he couldn't smell the horrible stench from his machines, or feel the bottom of his feet anxiously walking in circles, his fingers were getting tingly and numb. Onceler couldn't even see the insides of his destroyed mansion and the deforestation he caused from his window. All of it was a blur and too much too handle, the weight of his actions fell into his mind and stomach, forever scarred and stuck like that last stump in the middle of what used to be a vibrant Truffula Tree forest.
“What am I supposed to do now!?” He scratched his knotted throat as loud as he could, ripping his vocal chords. It didn't matter if he could hear himself now, he didn't listen to his real soul in the past, and now, no one will listen to him now. No matter how much he begged for help.
Alright, that was a little big example there haha! But you get it right? Here's a picture to help you visualize better.
Tumblr media
Mind you, the first example isn't bad to use! Just don't constantly use it. It's good to show a story throughout the actions of your character!
Alright, what else... what else... oh yes!
Be mindful of spellchecking bots!
I'll be honest to you, I do use them! They come incredibly handy because sometimes I mess up verbs or I just simply add too many spaces or create typos without meaning to! But remember that bots are bots, and at the end of the day they don't have humanity. They're AI. Therefore, these bots might make suggestions to change certain words because they don't recognize it as part of the vocabulary, but if you do click on everything they suggest, your dialogue will become very robotic and lacking of stylization. Keep those peepers open!
Use a beta reader?
I never had one. To me, writing is a very personal thing and for me to have one, they would have to share the same fandom that I'm writing of to be trustworthy. Beta Readers can be useful because they can point out mistakes other than spelling ones. Something the bots CANNOT do. They can point out weird things in dialogue, plot holes, etc.
Learn of your narration voice.
The way you narrate is your brush strokes of art but in writing! What type of a narrator are you? The unreliable type? The classic? Or just a narrator with a god complex? Have fun with that! And remember, if you want to narrate not as a narrator or yourself but as one of the characters, REMEMBER to study the character. Basically, the first tip I gave you.
Stuttering.
Don't overuse it. And we don't always stutter like: "b-b-but!" NO! Instead, try slurring the words, and adding ellipsis (the three dots ...)
Tumblr media
Not only is it more realistic, but it looks better on writing.
Tumblr media
This image is something I struggle with too, but it'll be useful to see it now!
Honestly, my path for writing has been rocky and I raw-dogged this shit, so it's an honor being able to help you! If you ever have any doubts keep coming here! I love to get in more depth, but I've been making this post for like an hour already!
I think that's all I can give you for now! Lots of people that have read my fanfics and roleplays have pointed out that dialogue is my forte! It's rather flattering. As always, I don't give tips or boast about my writing without evidence, so here's a snippet of a Normaler fanfic I'm writing:
“I brought you some things. Water and a towel. Hopefully that's enough.” She handed him the materials and he gladly took them, opening the water bottles and damping the towels.
“Thanks. It's tomatoes. I doubt there's a lot to get me dirty with those.” He chuckled awkwardly, before rushing to rub the towel against his cheek.
Norma smiled, raising her eyebrows.
“I take it that you're a foreigner?”
“You can tell?”
“Your accent. Yeah.” Norma stretched her legs as she sat next to him. “You're one of those cowboys?” She grinned back at the man.
The Once-ler laughed, and my... did he have a goofy laugh. Not what she expected.
“I wish. It sounds like fun, but where I come from, rural life is pretty boring.” He continued to rub the towel against his clothes.
“Greenville doesn't like foreigners.” She explained bluntly. “They always come here with bad intentions.” She furrowed her eyebrows with a teasing smirk, causing the Once-ler to dramatically gasp, a hand on his chest.
“B-But I ain't coming here with bad intentions!”

A lean, slight, tousled figure in a sailor-striped T-shirt and buckle-back trousers, Cillian Murphy walks into an upscale Japanese restaurant in downtown Manhattan. As he says hello, sits down, and looks around the room with his extraordinary ultramarine blue eyes, I form my first impressions: kind, gentle, sensitive, good-humoured, with no visible traces of the villains, psychopaths and other tortured souls he has played so convincingly on stage and screen. He also looks a little weary, and there is good reason for this.
“I’ve had kind of a crazy week this week,” he says in a mellifluous Irish accent with a rich grainy timbre. “I was in the Ukraine for a film festival. I’ve been all over America promoting a film called Red Lights, which I’m in with Robert De Niro. Yesterday was The Dark Knight Rises premiere here in New York, and this afternoon we fly to London for the next premiere. It’s all part of the job, I suppose, but it’s certainly not the reason why you do it.”
The waiter arrives with water and menus, and after some study, Cillian (pronounced Killian) decides on a salad of shitakes and market greens, followed by the sashimi. “I’m a vegetarian who occasionally eats meat and fish,” he says. “I like a drink too, but I won’t just now. I’ll stick with water.” I order the Kobe beef and ask the waiter to bring out a glass of red wine with it.
Some actors enjoy talking about themselves and their films, and they do it well. Cillian does not count himself among them. “I’m getting less hung about it, but when I started, the whole promotion aspect was an ordeal to be endured,” he says. “I just don’t have a great facility for it. I try to be interesting and spontaneous but it’s so hard when you get asked the question fifty or a hundred times over. You hear your little anecdotes going stale. Yes, it was fantastic to work with Robert De Niro, but you can only say it so many times, you know? I’ve always thought, just judge me on the work. What else matters? I’m an actor and that’s what I do.”
There’s an assumption in the media that actors are all competing in the same horse race for A-list stardom, and that an actor like Cillian Murphy, who seems poised on the very brink of it, with the perfect combination of looks and talent, must surely be yearning to get there. Journalists find it hard to accept when he tells them that that the only thing he cares about is the work, and the rest of it is to be endured. But this is why he avoids celebrity parties and keeps himself out of the gossip pages. He attends his own premieres, because he has to, but he won’t go to anyone else’s and he dreads the four-minute television interview on the red carpet.
Off screen, he lives a quiet, normal life that he likes to keep as private as possible. He’s married to Yvonne McGuinness, a visual artist, and they’ve been together since he was 20. They have two sons, Malachy and Aran, and shuttle between their house in North West London and the ancestral sod of County Cork.
“I’ve always felt that the less the public knows about you, the more effective you can be when you go to portray someone else,” he says.“For actors to reveal so much about themselves, and allow their personal selves to be owned by the media and the public, I find at odds with trying to lose yourself in a character. And that’s the thing I’m after. That’s what drives me. I’m 36 now, and I still have a real hunger for it.”
He thinks the desire to perform for an audience is something genetic, a personality trait that lives in the DNA, and it first expressed itself in his youthful attempts to be a rock star.“Of all the arts, music is still the one that affects me on the deepest level,” he says. “My parents were teachers, not artistic types, but there was always music in the house, and all four of us kids learned to play music. I was in a few different bands, playing guitar, singing and songwriting.”
One of those bands was called The Sons of Mr Greengenes, after the Frank Zappa song. They were offered a five-album deal by Acid Jazz records, but turned it down, because the deal was a swindle and Cillian’s parents disapproved of the music business. At the same time, Cillian recognised that he’d reached the ceiling of his musical talent, and would never be as good as he wanted to be. He went to law school in Cork “for no good reason,” and then one day he wandered into a production of Clockwork Orange staged in local nightclub.
“If your first theatre experience is a bad one, it’s unlikely you’ll go back,” he says. “But my first theatre experience was an extraordinary one. It was dangerous and sexy and electric, and just astonishing. I’ll always love music, but here was another form of live performance, just as exciting.”He pestered the theatre company, and after some starter roles, he was cast in the lead of Disco Pigs, a strange and brilliant play by Enda Walsh about a sick, twisted, obsessive relationship between a deranged boy and a slightly less deranged girl next door. The play was a huge success, touring for several years, reaching as far afield as Toronto and Copenhagen, and in 2001 it was made into a film. Pale, beautiful and androgenous, with outsized lips and impossibly blue eyes, Cillian Murphy looks as though he drifted down to earth from some other galaxy, or floated up from a cave kingdom beneath the Irish Sea. This ethereal, otherworldly quality has been a great asset to him as an actor, and many of his films have taken place in imaginary realms or the future.
His big breakthrough came in 2002 when he was cast as the lead in Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later, and required to fight his way through a post-apocalyptic London full of zombies. He went to outer space in Boyle’s Sunshine, and Gotham City for Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, in which he plays the sinister psychologist Scarerow. Nolan cast him again in Inception, as the target man for Leonardo DiCaprio’s team of dream-jackers.He’s also played a transvestite for Neil Jordan in Breakfast On Pluto, a creepy villain for Wes Craven in Red Eye, and a reluctant freedom fighter turned zealot for Ken Loach in The Wind Shakes The Barley, an epic about the Irish war of independence set in his native Cork. In all, he’s done 26 feature films, and while some of them haven’t turned out as well as he hoped, there are no bad or stupid films in his biography.
“You have to go in with good faith, and believe that this is best performance you’re ever going to give,” he says. “I’ve never done a film I didn’t believe in. I’ve never done a film for the money. Fortunately, I’ve been in some big budget films that were smart, and the money has given me the freedom to do small budget films and theatre that I’ve felt passionately about. An example is this movie Broken, which is a kind of version of To Kill A Mockingbird transposed to contemporary London. It’s a tiny, tiny budget film, and I’m just so proud of it. It’s such an emotionally brave piece of film-making.”Another example is Misterman, a one-man play that he performed earlier this year in Ireland, Brooklyn and London. Written by Enda Walsh, who got him started in Disco Pigs, and has become a close friend, it required him to play seven different characters imagined by the main character, and earned him the best reviews of his entire career. “It was incredibly exhausting and incredibly satisfying. Sometimes I was doing two performances a day. I don’t think I’ve ever been so tired, or so happy. It was very pure. It was all about the work. The commerce aspect was tiny, compared to when you make a film, and there was none of the waiting around.”
The waiter sets down two beautifully presented plates, one of sashimi and one of beef, and pours me a particularly delicious glass of Bordeaux. Seeing the expression of delight on my face when I taste the wine, Cillian says, “You know what? I’ll have a glass as well then. I do like my red wine.” Then the conversation collapses into silence, grunts, and occasional exclamations, as our chopsticks deliver one morsel of culinary artistry after another into our mouths. This restaurant, 15 East, was recently named one of the best in New York, and for both of us, it’s one of the best meals of our lives. “Absolutely sensational,” says Cillian, who is finding no problem at all drinking red wine with sushi.
When the plates are empty, I ask him what it feels like to become a character. Is it a genuine transformation, or it just a matter of dressing up and pretending to be someone else? “It’s not always the same,” he says. “Some characters are just a slight adjustment, and some are a great distance away from you. I like to do research. I was playing a professional debunker in this movie Red Lights about the supernatural, so I went and hung out with physicists and professional sceptics and magicians, to understand that community. Actors tend to know a lot superficially about a great deal of things.”
I press him again: what does it feel like when you’re in character? “It’s most satisfying on the stage,” he says. “If it reaches the point of being transcendent, where you’re not actually conscious of being on stage performing, because you’re only aware of the character and his world and his needs, well, that’s what you’re always aiming for, that’s the moment that theatre people are always chasing. It’s the ultimate rush, if you will, for an actor, when the self disappears completely.”
One glass of Bordeaux leads to another. The waiter asks if we want dessert, and Cillian says no thanks, and I order something called a Shiratama parfait of red beans, matcha jelly and green tea ice cream. When it arrives, it is multi-coloured and visually spectacular with many more ingredients, and Cillian says, “Wow, look at that. My goodness, I might have to get a spoon of that.”
We both dig in, exploring an extraordinary combination of flavours and textures, with gums, jellies, brioche, red bean paste and more. “Oh man, what’s that green stuff?” he says, mining the lower layers now. “I have no idea what that is. It’s got that gummy vibe going on again. Fecking amazing.”
With a drop more wine, Cillian gets talking with great enthusiasm about books and music. Have I read the Irish writer John Banville, one of his favourites? Do I know the seminal jazz album Bill Evans Live At the Village Vanguard? Cillian found it recently on vinyl, being a great admirer of Bill Evan’s understated piano playing, and firmly convinced that vinyl is still the best way to listen to music. He loves Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, Van Morrison, Jack White, and the Irish writers Pat McCabe, Sebastian Barry and the late, great, mindbending Flann O’Brien. Cillian is signed up for the film version of O’Brien’s satirical postmodern comedy At-Swim-Two-Birds, along with Gabriel Byrne, Colin Farrell and Michael Fassbender, and he hopes it will go into production soon.
“I’m also hoping to do some telly,” he says. “The smart mid-budget movie, which has been my bread and butter, has been squeezed out quite a bit. People are very reluctant to take a chance on a smart $17 million movie. They’d much rather throw everything into a dumb $250 million movie. But you don’t find that in TV where the writing just gets better and better, and you’ve the opportunity to develop a character over many hours.”
When you’re interviewing an actor, it’s always difficult to know if you’re witnessing a performance or the real person, but I get the distinct impression that Cillian Murphy is not only a nice guy, but maybe even happy and fulfilled. Is this true? “Well, the insecurity is always there,” he says. “It’s a necessary aspect of being an actor, or a writer for that matter. You have to have that insecurity. I used to feel like a failed musician pretending to be an actor, but that’s less of a worry now. I’ve found my form, I’ve found the right outlet for my impulse to create, and yes, I’m pretty happy. I don’t believe you have to be a tortured person in order to make great art. It needn’t always come from a place of pain, although there seems to be a romantic view of that.”
When he was a boy, all he wanted to do was hang around with artists and creative people, but he was stuck in a school in Cork where rugby and academia were the only things people seemed to care about. “Now, weirdly, I’ve found myself in a position where all my friends are artists. It’s a good place to be, I think, and that’s a real source of happiness, especially when we collaborate on stuff.”His ambitions for the future are very simple. In theatre, film or television, in collaboration with the best writers and directors, he wants to make great art, and keep on making it. “I can’t remember which director said it, but he said it takes 30 years to make a good actor,” he says.
“Longevity matters. I’m 16 years in, just over the hump, and when I’m 50 I should know if I’ve mastered my trade, or failed gloriously.”When the dessert and Bordeaux are finished, I ask for the bill, and the waiter brings it with two complementary glasses of dessert wine and a tray of petit fours. “I’m a big fan of your work,” he says to Cillian.
“I’m a big fan of your restaurant,” says Cillian. “How fantastic. What a meal. I wish all interviews could be like this.”As we walk out pleasantly buzzed into the bright furnace of a New York summer afternoon, I notice that Cillian doesn’t appear to have a mobile phone. “I left it in a taxi yesterday,” he says.
“Within half an hour, someone had called my wife and made arrangements to return it. I’m going to pick it up now before I go to the airport. It gives you faith, man. My publicist has lost two wallets and a phone here, and gotten them all back, with none of the money missing. It’s not something people expect from New York, but there you have it.”
Then I see the waiter from 15 East running down the street towards us, and I wonder if he’s going to ask Cillian for an autograph. But no, by odd coincidence, the waiter is holding my mobile phone, which I must have left in the restaurant. “You see what I mean?” says Cillian. “It gives you faith. Alright, best of luck, and I’ll be off now.”

as an Irish person reading trc/tdt what do you think of Maggies characterisation of the Lynch family??
oh i LOVE this question. anon so kindly giving me permission to infodump....
the short answer is: i love it?? i love it. i have varying quibbles about how niall's "redemption arc" is done and stuff like that, but purely on the irish side of things, i love it
further necessary context: i'm irish-american a few generations removed from ireland (who happens to have a hyperfixation on irish myth), my closest familial connections in the country are some distant cousins that my great-aunt traced recently. direct relations to her, but given that she is like 96, much less direct to me. so my perspective is very different from that of an irish person raised n living in ireland, & most of what i love most about the lynch family is directly related to diaspora and intergenerational trauma stuff
i said i was gonna infodump and then couldn't decide where to start. waow. okay so i've talked before about most of the worldbuilding in the dreamer trilogy being based in irish myth - ronan being from the otherworld (eldritch god, fairy, same thing), fintan mac bochra and the hawk of achill, not giving your true name/address to people at the fairy market, etc. these stories are woven through the whole fabric of the series
then the concept of irish storytelling itself is Also woven through the whole series, on both a meta and in-canon level
traditional irish storytellers will take a myth and make it their own, you can trace the origins of different tales back dozens or hundreds of years. the goal isn't to tell the story the way it's been told in generations past, but instead to tell it how You'd tell it. so there are these books repurposing irish myth in this unique way, but also these characters who are all so in love with storytelling in their own ways
you can see it in how niall and aurora tell their stories, how niall's always have a focus on action and tragedy and grisly death while aurora's are more focused on the love and the feelings and the soft fade-out of a tragic hero
you can see it in how declan has inherited niall's propensity for storytelling (the twitter confirmation of his middle name being "tadhg" still makes me Big Eyes Emoji) and also inherited niall's propensity for reckless idiocy, Geis Of Bullshit indeed.
then there's the way that declan and ronan both find themselves playing out different parts of niall's worst traits, how intergenerational trauma seems inescapable, how every damn person in the family is So Mentally Ill. this isn't necessarily the case for every irish-american family but it sure is for kitkat's. hoo boy we love giving chronic pain, psychosis, and inescapable depression to our offspring
that greywaren quote about "diaspora always idealizes the homeland" has stuck with me for a while because there's this kind of muted longing in the books' depiction of ireland itself, but also in the books' depiction of the barns, a place that niall and mór Made ronan's homeland. and more than that i see it in declan's views on his parents themselves, how he's able to reconcile with mór Because she's so distant and unfathomable and never personally fucked him up, so it's easier to forgive and forget everything she's done... how niall is dead and gone and can no longer change his behavior or grow or learn or fuck declan up any worse, so it's easier to accept his love as uncomplicated and good. child idealizing his distant homeland because that's what he's Supposed to have
truly don't know if that was the authorial intention but. it's the only way declan's arc makes any sense to me. that one line does a shitload of heavy lifting
and on a less theme-heavy note i love little details like. the brothers being so in touch with irish culture as second-gen immigrant kids, love that they play the uilleann pipes and attend the fleadh, love that ronan can do an irish accent on command, love that declan keeps photos of ireland in his bedroom but they still don't quite reflect his True Self like his attic does, love that mór is a gaelgeoir (irish speaker), there are other details i'm forgetting now
this post is ungodly long so i'll leave it here. these r my thoughts. it's good shit o/

I've been thinking of starting a Peanuts acc with my own hcs too but I haven't worked up the courage >.< What's some of your headcanons?
SO GLAD YOU ASKED ME!! <33
the list is endless, but here are a couple of them im super passionate about:
• Charlie Brown taught Sally sign language (ASL) all throughout her childhood. She can ‘speak’ full sentences fluently and DEFINITELY uses it to her advantage (signs curses when the teacher isn’t looking /jj). The signs come in handy when Charlie Brown goes non-verbal (selective mutism)
• Lucy has terrible hearing and has had to wear hearing aides since she was like 5. Charlie Brown keeps stressing that she should learn ASL in case of emergency, but she always refuses (“I’d rather DIE than have to learn English again.” /j)
• Schroeder and Patty are cousins; his dad and her mom are German/Polish. Schroeder’s mom is black (Somalian) and Indian, and Patty’s dad is Swedish and Kazakhstanian. Patty bonds over Schroeders love for German history and loves teaching him about their family heritage (schroeder zones out until beethoven is mentioned)
• Lucy has a separate birth dad (Balkan) than Rerun and Linus’ dad (Irish). All three of them have the same mom, who I think is a Chinese immigrant who moved to America (along with their “blanket hating Grandmother”). Linus and Rerun are both “Rainbow children”, due to their mother losing a baby before Linus was born
• I saw somebody on tik tok say that Snoopy was Filipino-American, and honestly i cant unsee it /hj
• Marcie was born in Korea and was adopted by French immigrants in America. She grew up primarily learning French and a little bit of English due to the books in her house. When she met P. Patty at the summer camp, she was taught the ins and outs of American culture and still relies on her every once in a while (marcie calls her “sir” solely because she didn’t know the feminine English pronouns for an authoritative figure)
• Frieda and Heather (the little red haired girl) are half siblings. They share the red hair and the sharp nose trait (i think theyre both roman-italian bcs of it). Heather has the coveted “nAtuRAllY CuRLy HaiR” trait as well, she just burns it straight every single morning (i like drawing it frizzy asl)
• Violet is of Native American descent (mother’s side) and Black Irish (father’s side). When she first moved in in the comic (1951), she lived with both parents, but around late 1951, she moved AGAIN, so that makes me think her parents got a divorce between those two moves. Her mom quickly married a British person (ew /j) who hated all the tom-boyish crap violet was always seen doing, so he started to push his uppity customs onto her. This, I think, is why she’s so upset at Pig Pen all the time for him being messy, despite her literally being OBSESSED with mud-pie making in her first set of comics. She just has a random change there, and a different (british) influence is the only explanation /j
• Franklin LOVESSS space and science. He aspires to be an astronaut when he grows up. He often gets in arguments with Lucy about the validity of aliens existing, and it’s one of the few things that REALLYYY tick him off. Lucy revels to see him so stressed out, but she also likes getting the last word in.
• Peggy Jean (who? /jj) and Schroeder are besties, i think. They bond over talking crap about the other peasants and Peggy loves pissing him off. They have a kind of sibling relationship, where they outwardly insult each other and wish the lather were dead, but lets be real, they would die for each other.
• Peppermint Patty is originally from Australia and met Roy through a foreign-exchange program (Roy is originally from India). They were besties at camp and when P. Patty’s dad decided to live there, she offered to let Roy stay with them. They lived together for a long time until Roy moved out with his parents (now in America) and they kinda drifted away. It’s just whenever I recall that one scene in “He’s your dog, Charlie Brown” when Roy is in P. Patty’s house for some reason, im always confused, so this is canon now/jj
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ASKING AGAIN!!! i love spreading my opinions out there and i salute you if you read up to this point (also yes all of these are canon to my AU /gen)

What occult figures could you see the Ducks being? Like, who would be a witch/wizard or who would be a werewolf or vampire?
Thank you for the ask. I tried to match the Ducks with the occult figures they would be. I didn't think any of them fit into witch, werewolf, or vampire. However, I hope you aren't disappointed by my answers.
Luis is a Norse elf. In the original folklore elves are powerful and beautiful creatures. Normally they are uninterested in the affairs of men however they will occasionally interact with exceptional humans. Given that Luis is the pretty one of the group and has great speed, I’d say he fits the powerful and beautiful. Also, he isn’t introduced until D2 when he is put on a team with exceptional other people. So, I think this fits him well.
Russ was the easiest one to choose. He would be a pisky/pixie. Pixies are mischievous sprites who are not good or evil. They often meddle in the affairs of man. Their favorite was to steal horses and confuse travelers in the moor. Given his snarky personality and smart mouth I feel this fits Russ pretty well. He isn’t malicious but does know how to use what he’s got to fuck with people.
Julie was actually quite hard to pinpoint. She is powerful, but she’s not unkind. However, I think the creature that best fits her is a nymph. The book passage that solidified this for me was “As spirits of nature nymphs were wild, unpredictable, and very dangerous if crossed.” This is very Julie. She is cunning and plays her cards well. She will also retaliate if crossed. Like we see her do in the original script of D2 when she duck-tapes Goldberg to the bench.
Adam is an interesting one. I actually got help from @kaymardsa for him. I feel he best fits with the character of a golem. Golems are humanoid creatures created to help the person who created them. According to Kay a lot of Jewish stories are golems being created to help but causing a bunch of chaos for those who created them. As Adam is used in the first movie and only brought on to help the Ducks win the similarities are there. Kay also pointed out he may actually feel like the golem himself because the team only brought him on because they needed him not because they wanted him. He also is like a golem because he tries to help, but ends up getting hurt or targeted. Adam just wants to do well, but he is only used for his skills.
These next few were hard to place but I tried my best.
Guy was a hard one. He is kind, friendly and handsome. However, he is also protective and a good friend. I eventually settled on Havmand for him. In Danish folklore, Havmand is a merman that lives off the shore of the land. Unlike many other merman in folklore, Havmand is described as handsome and friendly to those he meets. There is one story of a Havmand kidnapping a maiden to be his wife, however there aren’t many creatures in myth who didn’t. However, despite them mostly being known to be good-natured creatures. I think it can still fit Guy.
Jesse strikes me the most as a fae. He is a very strong friend and his passion knows no bounds. However, like the fae if he is crossed he is a dangerous force. Jesse demands respect but he will also give respect if you earn it. This is very fae like to me. Lastly, Jesse is a firey person and it is best not to cross him, such as it is best not to cross a fae.
Goldberg reminds me most of the Cluricaune, a household fairy of Irish folklore. However, unlike some household fairies, The Cluricaune hangs out in basements and wine sellers. They are known to play tricks which is a very Goldberg thing to do. However, they aren’t malicious, just tricky.
Charlie is another one who could fall under the fae title however, I decided to go an different route. I focused on his leadership. Charlie is often trying to be the mediator. He is the one who offers reassuring words. Also for better or worse he brings the team together on tasks. Because of these traits I found him most like the lyre bird. In Australian aboriginal myth, when the animals had a falling out. It was the Lyre Bird would encouraged peace and reconciliation.
Averman is a gremlin. Gremlins came into being during the first world war, when the Royal Navy found that certain things kept going wrong with their equipment. Gremlin lore expanded in WW2 where they grew in their cunning. Often being described as annoying and doing everything they can to cause trouble. If that isn’t Averman I don’t know what is.
Connie is a mermaid. Mermaids are often seeing as beautiful women. However, like Connie they are not to be underestimated. Mermaid folklore is full of mermaids luring unsuspecting people into the water. Connie is a lovely person but she’s also a Duck and will fuck you up given the chance.
Kenny makes me think of a shapeshifter. This is mostly because he easily transfers from figure skating to hockey. He is also someone who is often underestimated due to his size. However, he can and will eff you up if you mess with his friends.
Dean seems to relate most to the Pooka/Puca. Pucas are mischievous half-animal sprites in Irish folklore. They are known to punish graverobbers but have been known to help rescue beasts that have fallen in the bog. They also have been known to help in households. They also curse fruit to be inedible. So, with this combination of sweetheart and menace, I think it fits Dean well.
Both of the creatures Fulton remind me of are technically mine sprites. They are Karzelek and Knockers. They are helpful in protecting the miners and finding ore. They are generally friendly but can be deadly and cave in tunnels if disrespected. Knockers were described by miners as imps or demons. However, they are not harmful creatures at heart. This makes me think a lot of Fulton.
Dwayne was one of the easier ones. I stuck to his general cheery disposition when finding a creature for him to relate to. I settled on a Dobie for him. A Dobie is a British house fairy. They are very helpful and like to join in with tasks taken on by laborers. However, the Dobie can be easily confused about tasks. I feel like this fits Dwayne pretty well.

Coby McQuaid Introduction
Finally Veruca's one and only brother, the source of her stress and frustration, Coby McQuaid, gets an introduction here!
The Jacob of my version for Hogwarts Mystery. The Jacob that actually has some sense and isn't a damn idiot to fall for Peregrine's stupid plan 🙄
❌ NO REPOSTING ❌
———————————————————
Tumblr media
Coby McQuaid is a pure blood Irish wizard. He is the eldest son of Elroy and Wilhelmina and Veruca’s brother. Coby was born on the 26th of November 1962. While he cares for his sister, the two have a very competitive relationship. Their competitive natures also caused them to engage in childish disputes that continued on into adulthood. Coby may be the oldest, but he can definitely be the most immature between the two, something Veruca often points out, causing Coby to whine about it. They can never play any game together as their competitiveness gets out of hand and someone ends up tackling the other to the ground.
Coby McQuaid, is a confident, energetic, outgoing, brash, and informal young man, who revels in his freedom from order and responsibility. He is charismatic and well liked by those around him. He often does whatever he likes on whim with a macho and confident attitude.
He enters both duels and flying races with unabashed confidence, often thinking that every event is one big and crazy party. His most gifted trait is his ability to live life as it comes, never worrying what others think of him and treasuring his own personal values. While others may see him as a simple rebel, he does have some code of personal ethics and will stand for those who can't defend themselves. He feels that duels should be fought fairly and doesn't condone picking on the weak. He also admires bravery and often feels compelled to stick up for the underdogs.
Proud of his heritage and gung-ho for flying and dueling, he has a tendency to get lost in the thrill and forget his limits. Therefore, he often relied on the wisdom and responsibility of his friends, Olivia Green and Duncan Ashe, to keep him focused and on track. He is grateful for any helping hand and strives to repay his debts in kind. Carson's overall assessment of him implies that his unpredictability is not merely based on a whim, but out of consideration for his family. In Hogwarts, he joined the Dueling Club in favor of Quidditch, but often held flying races in the Pitch.
After seeing the way Diego interacts with Veruca, Coby has been extremely wary of the younger male. Although knowing his sister is no longer a child, it's his brotherly instincts that often kick in whenever Veruca either mentions or hangs out with Diego. To see if he was a good match for his sister, Coby dueled Diego and admitted he wasn't taking it easy on him. He eventually started respecting Diego for his skills and had warmed up to the younger male when he started showing he was serious about Veruca. While it took time for him to approve the relationship, it is still taking a long time getting used to his baby sister being in one.
After R had been fully taken care of, Coby moved back to Kinsale, Ireland. He lives a relaxing life in a cabin on a private beach. He doesn't marry or have any kids, but owns two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers named Rosie and Eugene. He also works as a bartender in one of the nearby bars and usually handles the drinks during family gatherings and parties. Coby also got a small tattoo of a butterfly on the left side of his neck a symbol of his great grandmother Avis.
Coby has a coffee addiction. He used to drink tea because of his Nana, but switched to coffee after he needed something to keep him up whenever he pulled all-nighters. He never went back to tea after that. When Veruca was still drinking out of a sippy cup, there was no more of her favorite juice so Coby filled her cup with some coffee. Ever since then, Veruca started craving for coffee and would throw her cup away if she was given juice. Elroy found out was upset his little girl was getting caffeine high at an extremely young age.

Mr and Mrs Kennedy asks coming up
1 - Which one of the Kennedy children remember their traits the best? (Their personality, their looks, etc)
2 - How did they actually look like? What were their personalities actually like?
3 - How old were they when they married/had Peter/had Jack/had Dee?
4 - What were their names?
5 - Which kid resembled Mr Kennedy the most?
6 - Which kid resembled Mrs Kennedy the most?
That’s all
hoo boy, here we go:
funnily enough, Jack does. he was really close to both of them (makes sense: when your parents are accepting when they find out you're trans and have helped you manage your autism (even if none of you knew that's what it was) then it's probably gonna make you really close with them!). it's why their deaths fucked him up so bad.
i might make art of it later, but here's my best attempt at doing a description: Mr. Kennedy - tall, lean man. got some muscle (grew up on a farm, and was also a soldier in WW2 for a bit). he has a prosthetic leg and walks with a cane (got shot in the leg and had to have it amputated; prosthetic leg isn't perfect and causes him to hobble around a bit, so he uses the cane to stabilize himself a little bit). he's got ginger hair, with dark green eyes, and is covered in freckles. slightly tanned skin. he's the youngest son of Irish immigrants. he's a rather calm man, but he's basically Jack if he had 2% more impulse control. also just a fun loving man. he's got a temper, but he's able to keep it in check. loves his wife and kids dearly. Mrs. Kennedy - shorter, and was described as "chubby" by family. only a year younger than her husband, and born in the same month, funnily enough. she's got freckles too, but much fewer than her husband. darker red hair and paler skin than her husband, with dark brown eyes. she's got a tooth gap, one that she'd pass down to her eldest son and daughter. a very warm, welcoming, yet calm woman. rarely ever swears (doesn't mean she hasn't cussed people out in her mind, however), and whenever she does, it's clear that something's serious. definitely a loving mother. very strong-willed; it's one of the things that attracted her husband to her.
their birthdays are in May, for reference. in order: Married - 1944; Mr. Kennedy is 20, and Mrs. Kennedy is 19 (yep, they got married young. neither of their families really agreed with their relationship due to multiple reasons, but Mr. Kennedy's family eventually was like "well, we don't approve of it, but if you're sure this is the woman you want to marry, then we aren't going to stop you." Mrs. Kennedy's family, however, couldn't even get that far. it was enough so that the Siblings only ever really had contact with that side of the family during holidays). Had Peter - 1945; 21 and 20. Had Jack - 1951; 26 and 25 (reminder, this is in March). Had Dee - 1967; 40 and 39. and, even though you didn't ask: Death - 1969; 41 and 40.
Names: Mr. Marshall Neil Kennedy, and Mrs. Diane Reynolds Kennedy (name previous to marriage: Diane Aris Reynolds)
Jack, surprisingly, despite being a trans man, actually ended up taking after his father a lot! got the same kind of hair, similar skin tone to his father (just a shade or two lighter), and has even been described as having a similar face to him. he is, however, not as tall as his father. body type wise, he takes more after his mother. even personality-wise, he takes more after his dad, even if he is more impulsive. (sometimes he wonders if his dad would be proud of him)
Peter takes after his mother, despite being tall and somehow skinnier than his dad. he's got dark red, curly hair like she does, and, as mentioned earlier, has a tooth gap. like Jack, he took after his mom: pretty calm, doesn't swear often and will actually scold Jack for swearing (mostly in front of Dee), etc. (he misses her a lot. he wonders if they think he did a good job, trying to look after his siblings, even if the world was against them)

Uh, not to be that person but it's Ghàidheil for Gaelic and Norse ancestry not Ghaeil. Maybe open a book or something? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hey anon! Thank you for coming to my inbox.
Not to be that person either but, The Norse–Gaels were of both Scottish and Irish and I very much intended to use the Irish word.
Old Irish: Goídil; Irish: Ghaeil; - I used Ghaeil as it's modern Gaeilge but both are correct
Scottish Gaelic: Ghàidheil,
All mean 'Gaels', though if we're being technical the fictional werewolf of Irish decent would be called Gall-Goídil (Foriegn Gaels)
The Triskelion, the only defining Hale trait we have, is Irish Celtic, not Scottish Celtic, and mixing Gaeilge and Gaelic is a tired trope. I do everything in my power to make sure people understand and know that while we mix their history and language a lot in our western media, they are two different people.
And so you know, I've opened several books on this subject.
Mo sheacht mbeannacht Ort!

OC MasterPost - Kyan Richardson
Tumblr media
Basic Information:
Nicknames: Key Age: 16 (Outside) / 18 (AUs) Height: 5′11″ / 180cm Birthday: Dec 31 Personality Type: ISFJ / 6w5 Build: Very thin Eye color: Hazel Hair Color: Blonde Skin tone: Pale with yellow undertones Other features: Freckles Ethnicity: Irish Blood type: A Handedness: Left
Likes:
-Chocolate -Nox -Stability -Reading
Dislikes:
-The unknown -People with big egos -Making decisions without thinking them through -Most people tbh
Love Language: Quality Time / Acts of Service
Favorite Color:  Green
IQ: 142
Traits:
Intelligent, witty, analytical, resilient, sarcastic, compassionate, humble
Backstory:
Kyan was born with a dysfunction of his autonomic nervous system called Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome (CVS), that weakens his health and his brain’s neural pathways between his brain and his stomach. Because of this, Kyan always had a hard time gaining weight or muscle, and his weakness lead to him being an easy target to bullies.  Struggling heavily with feelings of hopelessness and insecurity, Kyan began his fight with Self h@rm, to which he did between the ages of 12 and 13, until he met Nox, and she helped him get clean.  Kyan’s a bit of an anxious mess sometimes, and with his CVS often being triggered by anxiety, he often falls into episodes of illness, but Nox supports and loves him through it.
Relationships:
Mother:
Kyan’s mother, Helen, never wanted a second child.  After accidentally becoming pregnant with Kyan 6 years after the birth of her first child, Julia, Helen didn’t want to give up her lifestyle of drinking and partying, so, in secret, she continued to feed into her addictions, causing damage to Kyan’s nervous system in the womb, causing him to be born with his Autonomic Dysfunction (CVS).  After being born premature with serious health issues, doctors were wary about the possibility of his survival, but he managed to pull through.  Growing up, Helen felt burdened by Kyan’s health issues, and refused to comfort him when he was sick.  Over time, her neglect turned into psychological, emotional, and physical ab*se.
Father:
In all of my AUs as well as in canon, Kyan never knows his father, and in the AU I write most frequently in (my base IRL Au), Kyan’s father was put in prison shortly after Kyan was born, after he attempted to murder Helen after finding out about the things she did when pregnant with Kyan and the permanent effects it would have on their child.  After his sentence, Helen moved their family and refused to tell Kyan where his father was, nor tell his father where Kyan was.  She told Kyan that he had abandoned him because he was too high-maintenance, in order to shut down any questioning to the whereabouts of his father.
Julia (older sister):
Julia, Kyan’s sister, was his only supporter throughout his childhood.  Despite being the family favorite and the “golden child”, Kyan never grew to resent her.  She would always comfort him when he was ill, put on a movie he liked, read him stories, or just sat and rubbed his back in silent comfort.  When Kyan was 12, Julia had a difficult decision to make: leave home and go off to a University to pursue her career goals, or stay at home and remain her brother’s caretaker.  She ended up choosing the former.
Nox Willows:
Nox is Kyan’s best friend and love interest.  The two met on a school trip when they were 13 years old, after sitting side-by-side on the train ride over.  Kyan, at the time, was struggling heavily with SH, and was actively trying to starve himself to death.  Nox noticed him struggling heavily, and offered support, and through her genuine care for him, Kyan started trying to live again.  Kyan quickly developed feelings for Nox, who friendzoned him for 3 years before they started dating at age 16.  Realizing quickly that there was no one else they could ever feel as “right” with, the two get married at age 18.
Ilyana (future daughter):
Kyan was always a little anxious about having kids, so when Ilyana, his first born, turned out healthy and strong, it was a massive relief for him.  Ilyana was an easy kid to raise.  She was independent, did well in school, and never talked back, and so Kyan never felt a struggle with being her father.  He’s very protective over his daughter, and though she’s his parenting “guinea pig”, his mistakes as her father were few and far between.
Garett (future son):
Garett was born 5 years after Ilyana, but unlike his sister, he didn’t hit the health lottery.  He was born weak and frail, taking after his father’s poor health, and Kyan instantly blamed himself entirely for it.  When Garett fell ill or struggled with any health-related-issue, Kyan turned the other cheek, unable to care for him out of an immense feeling of self-hatred and blame.  Kyan never had a positive parental figure, and because ab*se was his norm growing up, he didn’t realize the pain neglect would inflict on his and Garett’s relationship.  It isn’t until Garett’s 18 that he confronts his dad about how he treats him, and Kyan swears to be better, heartbroken at the realization that in his own way, he was a terrible parent himself.
Other:
Allergies:
Kyan is allergic to cinnamon, peppers, shellfish, mushrooms, and pineapple, in that order of severity (worst to least).
Food Palette:
Kyan has a bit of a sweet tooth, and gravitates towards sugary snacks.  However, he can’t stomach spicy food.
Music taste:
late 90′s / early 2000′s alt, sad indie music
Examples: Radiohead, Roar, Billie Eilish
Prescriptions:
Kyan takes promethazine symptomatically for his nausea.
Future occupation:
Kyan goes into software development and works remotely because of the lack of leniency in full time in-office positions with sick days.
Mental illnesses:
Generalized anxiety disorder, depression
Stutter:
Kyan had a stutter when he was a kid, but through long speech therapy exercises with Nox in his early teens, it got a lot better, and only shows itself when he’s anxious. He specifically struggled most with t’s, m’s, and b’s, but would also occasionally repeat words if particularly stressed or overwhelmed.
Style:

Body Type:

7. for the harringrove ask game ❤️
What do you headcanon about their identities? (sexual, romantic, ability, ethnicity, etc.)
I staunchly maintain billy is gay and Steve is bi. Now…I think realistically steve did not have his gay awakening until billy. And even then, I don’t see him being that into dudes. Liking billy maybe opens him up to the possibility of exploring that side of his sexuality further, but for the most part steve is painfully heterosexual to me outside of this ship lmao whereas billy reads to me like someone who has known he was gay for a long time and I see no female attraction coming from him
I don’t really have any concrete opinions about their ethnicities. I do like to pretend billys got some Italian in him tho because… projection 🤪 lol and it’s for this reason I rebuke Italian steve lmao he is not my blorbo but also the vibes are just not there but I digress. I really have no opinion on steve beyond that like he’s white…that’s all I got. The wasp thing makes total sense to tho for him. Billy I like to think of him being mixed with like Irish or something on Neil’s side. I think hargroves an English last name? So that works too. Again…he’s white. That’s all I got lmao pick a country and I’ll be like yeah sure ok
I never really get too into neurodivergent headcanons only because I do not know anything about anything enough to confidently state one way or another. What I do know is I personally deal with anxiety and depression, and I recognize traits of those within billy certainly, anxiety for Steve.
And I see them both as very masculine. Billy I can see to some extent participating in gender fuckery but realistically I don’t think he’s going too far outside of the box. Maybe for special occasions like Halloween. And I can see him occasionally dipping into makeup but like subtly. Not a full beat but some eyeliner here and there, tinted lip gloss, he can get into it. Glittery eyeshadow when he’s feeling fancy

CAREER/LIFE DETAILS ( tw: cancer , alcoholism , abortion ) :
jimmy was born to ... he doesn’t know. he was born in wicklow , ireland and was raised by his father adam delaney after being placed on his doorstep. his father was an author and columnist , always working from home , and jimmy was never alone. despite not knowing who his mother was , a sore topic for his father and the only subject that he ever avoided , they had a happy life. jimmy was good at school , took guitar and piano lessons , and was overall a pretty happy kid.
when he turned 16 , the interest in who his mother was piqued. he requested his birth records from the county and tracked down a name he found on his records , but when he stood in front of the flat door in dublin , the person that opened the door could not possibly be his mother. grey - haired , walking stick , in her late sixties. however , seeing him at her doorstep didn’t seem to be a surprise. she invited him in and explained.
his mother , someone who had been a close friend of hers but who she was no longer in contact with , had gotten pregnant by his father on accident. she’d panicked. she didn’t want to be a mother , and didn’t want to be found. when he was born , on the side of the road in a car , she’d made the friend promise to help her out. the lady had taken him to the hospital , said she’d found the baby with a note that said adam was the father , but nothing else. no matter how much he pressed , she would not reveal anything more.
some answers but more questions. he returned to his home in wicklow with his dad , and began writing. first journals , to write away his frustration and grief at how it seemed he would never find out who his mother was –– this being long before the time where testing dna and ancestry was easily available. once he’d processed some of the issues , he began writing poetry and putting them over melodies.
however , music always remained a hobby to him. he trained to become an accountant , and met leah on a night out with friends. she was studying to be a nurse , and they hit it off straight away. every minute they had to spare was spent with each other , often even seeking each other out just to sit next to each other and study when exams were coming up. he didn’t mind. as long as he could be near her , he was happy. when they finished school , they moved in together and were engaged soon after.
jimmy was offered a job in the states , and they relocated to san francisco. they bought a house and on the day they got the keys , he leaned down on one knee in their empty living room and proposed. the first few months , the evenings were spent with windows open to the late summer breeze , trying to air out the paint fumes. candles lit despite the electric work being done weeks before , and jimmy playing her every new song he wrote.
three months later , and they got the worst news after leah had been experiencing a cough that wouldn’t go away. stage 4 lung cancer. not only that , but when they found it , she was 8 weeks pregnant. in order to treat the cancer and give her a chance at survival , they decided to terminate the pregnancy. adam moved from ireland to the us to help support them. five months later , he’d lost both of them. his father , first , out of the blue. in the morning , instead of in the kitchen , making them some breakfast , he hadn’t been there. they’d found him cold in the guest room. peaceful , but long gone. three weeks later , he lost leah. on her death bed , she asked him to never give up music , as that was theirs , and that was where she would always be.
he sold the house. it was tained with death. he found a part time job as an accountant and used the sales from the san francisco house to buy a small apartment in pasadena. he drank to drown out the pain. worked on his music. drank more. recorded demos. worked on his music again. recorded his record , got a deal.
his first record , from eden , released in september 2022 , dedicated to leah , and his name has been everywhere ever since , labelling him as the newest ‘up - and - comer ‘.

Hello there! Can I get a twisted wonderland matchup? Starting off with my appearance I'm chubby and 5'1 with long ginger hair. I am a short king :). Regarding mbti I'm an ENTP. Also, with my personality my friends would describe me as "bubbly, weird, smart, honest, and kind". I asked em for traits for random internet quizzes so that's what they told me lol. Despite being a bit of an extrovert I also highly value my alone time to the degree I can become quite introverted. Moving onto hobbies I like playing video games, watching YouTube videos on random topics I'm interested in, listening to music, and reading. My favorite games tend to be RPGs. My fav games are probs Dragon Age, Skyrim, and Tomodachi life. I love to create characters in games and explore, and I especially enjoy building houses in games. Idk why but building houses gives me such joy. My favorite part of Skyrim is unironically the dlc that lets you build a house. I love to build that house and then get a husband and some kids. I consider that my end game goal verses the main quest which I've never actually finished despite putting 200 hours into Skyrim. For movies well I don't rlly watch movies much but my favorite series is probably star wars. Especially the prequels because I enjoy the characters more in those films and all the lore it adds. For music I kinda listen to everything, but my favorite artist is probably Hozier. The only genre I dislike is screamo probs. For things I hate uhhh I guess I dislike bugs, being put under pressure, and small spaces as I'm claustrophobic. Finally, going onto favorite idol I am going to go with a hisotrical example as I also love to learn about hisotry. I have many examples I could pick for figures I admire, but I'll go with a more famous example, Oscar Wilde. Just in case you don't know, Oscar wilde was a famous Irish author and playwright during the late 1800s. He was quite controversial for his opinions on art and morality, and he was a gay man at time where that was illegal. All of this lead up to him eventually getting arrested and jailed. I admire him because he didn't care that society thought he was wrong and immoral, he lived his life and gave his opinions despite it. Anyway that's it thanks!
You're very welcome! (´꒳`)♡
I match you with... (っ^▿^)💨
Tumblr media
ACE TRAPPOLA (pls ignore the gif i only could find that T^T)
I always thought ESFP and ENTP were one of the most compatible couples! Because the feature that some cannot provide against life, the other provides both for theirself and for their partner <3 I think Ace is very supportive in general, but because he is a tsundere, he only clearly shows it to someone he is very close to. he loves your life idol and way of thinking!
You used to make fun of each other a lot at first, but then you suddenly fell in love with each other and Deuce was like "🧍🏻" between you LOL SDFKGLSDFJGLJDF While you liked his secret softness, supportiveness, sincerity and liveliness in general, he loved your intelligence, funnyness, kindness and self-confidence. Opening up to each other was thanks to Deuce, but the moment you did it, you both realized that you both completed each other.
If there is going to be a problem in your relationship, I think it's because Ace is too sarcastic when he's angry sometimes and you can't stand it and annoy him even more with clever answers. Usually this ends in fights and the fights are quite childish. After about a week, even though you miss each other, you can't break your pride. As a result grim and deuce will be together and reconcile you somehow because GOD you are irresistible you love birds LMAO.
Finally, some moments I dream of for you two: Entertaining each other while studying the lessons you have difficulty with, a sweet Ace who tries to comment on what you read to him even if he is not smart enough, you mess up and end up in Crowley's room while trying the action in the youtube video you watched, one of the rare and weird but cute moments you experience expressing your love for each other in words and kissing - grim saw that kiss he says its remains traumatic JKLASDF - and finally, when you realize that you will support each other no matter what in your life, you hold your hands tighter and look at each other and smile <3
