Lutari are probably most well-known for being one of the limited pets on the site, only being able to be made on their pet day and previously connected to the long-defunct Neopets Mobile game from back in the flip phone days. It's to the extreme where you can't even put one up for adoption, with them just running away instead of going to the pound. (Side note: TNT should re-release Lutari Island as a main site feature and make it so you can always create a Lutari while visiting. But I digress.)
Lutari are mostly just otters, but their very distinct, mottled markings, huge claws, and fluffy, curly tails are pretty distinct and make them feel unique, even though they're otherwise pretty straightforward. I like the amount of detail present; they have just the right balance of color, with white underbellies, black claws and noses, and two shades of the main color for their bodies, all of which is carefully balanced as to not be too busy. Overall, they're pretty dang nice... though they do have one drawback.

Considering that Lutari were released only shortly before conversion happened, you would think that they wouldn't have changed much other than losing their swimming pose (which is a shame, but a necessary change for customization). But in actuality, they actually changed quite a bit in various subtle ways, ending up with completely different proportions, markings, facial structure, and more. Here's a really great redraw that's more accurate to the original design, which really highlights the differences between the two:
The eyes are a completely different shape and the pupils are smaller, the mouth is smaller, the ears a completely different shape, the feet are weirdly elongated, the tail is less swirly... and they're such weird changes, because none of them actually have to do with customization.
Another good example of the changes made is Mr. Chipper, who was, weirdly enough, released prior to the Lutari species as a whole. He stands bipedally, and thus shows what a converted Lutari should've looked like. Also of note is the markings, which for some reason became weirdly angular on converted Lutari and less organic than they were originally.

And don't get me wrong, converted Lutaris are still fine, and are by no means ruined or anything like that. It's just a shame that they're less cute than they used to be, and that seemingly little care was put in to convert them properly.

Maraquan: I went over this already in my Maraquan colour review so I won't go into too much detail here, but this design (based off a user submission) is beautiful. I love the use of an axoltle as a base, the pink and cream colors are lovely, and the gill ears are just perfect.

Pirate: While this design is pretty good as a whole, with a nice grey base with a few bright red accents and a properly cutthroat expression, it's the way they managed to seamlessly and subtly work a skull into the tail markings that really earns it a spot on this list. 10/10 no notes.

Faerie: While a little on the busy side, the faerie Lutari is quite pretty. The light green, blue and pink color palette works perfectly, and the beautiful swirled body markings work off of the Lutari's default markings perfectly. The wings also compliment it will, matching both the body colors and the intricate designs.

As an added benefit, you can also get a very pretty, less busy design out of this by using wings-be-gone, which arguably looks even better than the full color. I appreciate that kind of versatility.

BONUS: Camouflage isn't anything crazy, and it's not even all that camouflage-ish, but honestly I just really like this design. The use of a neutral palette and gradients creates a lovely and distinct color that's quite appealing for those who want a more realistic otter look or those, like me, who just like subtle and simple designs.

I made a Pathfinder OC!
My health has continued to be a massive burden, and today after writing about 1,000 words of fic it reached a point where I couldn't adequately focus on storytelling. To make a long story short, I reached out to some friends for company, and they decided to teach me how to make a Pathfinder character, thus my new OC was born. I love her way too much.
Meet Esca! She has no art but she does have an in-depth description of her appearance which even includes some NSFW stuff that will be below a cut, and she has a level one character sheet on Pathbuilder2e!

Esca is an Abyssal Merfolk Barbarian who channels her hunger in place of a more traditional rage, and unhinges her jaw to devour her prey. Her aquatic traits were modeled after viperfish and anglerfish, and she even has a lure on her forehead!
Without further ado, may I present…
Esca von Illicium, Princess of the Deep
Abyssal Merfolk, Royalty, Barbarian
Perhaps Esca's most striking feature, besides her coiling and dark-scaled viperfish tail, is her abnormal complexion. Hailing from the deepest trenches beneath the ocean floor, Esca's pale skin is more than semi-translucent, potentially offering glimpses of what lays beneath. what exactly is visible depends on both the lighting and her position, though it is most common to see her veins through her skin, though on in the right conditions portions of tendon and muscle may show through, especially around her shoulders.
The semi translucent skin of her neck is marked by three rows of gills on either side, which work alongside her deceptively human-like nose to help her breathe underwater. They provide no additional benefits on land though. In addition to her obviously aquatic gills, Esca's humanoid upper half is also marked by a lure which extends out from her forehead, it glows with a gentle bioluminescence, and bounces around as she moves.  
Save for that lure, esca and illicium for which Esca was named, and her complexion, Esca's facial structure resembles that of an Elven woman, with angular features and pointed ears. 
She has short-cropped white hair, and deep red eyes, which are among the only source of color on her actual body save for the blue of her veins. Behind that Elven facial structure though, is a deceptively large mouth filled with sharp, needle-like teeth. Esca is capable of unhinging her jaw to swallow her meals whole, and if you look closely you way even see the indents she uses to do so extending upwards from the corners of her lips.
Her lower half is that of a viperfish, with a long tail adorned with grey-toned scales that are darkest at the very tip of her tail and progressively lighten until they are are as pale as the skin they sit against.
Esca is a bubbly and somewhat naive woman, one who despite being well educated was incredibly sheltered during the years in which she was groomed to be her people's next monarch. It was because of that lack of freedom that she eventually ran away from her underwater home, venturing to the last place her family would look, the surface. 
She acclimated well to life on the surface, in no small part thanks to her eidolon jellyfish she uses as a mount to save herself from having to slither, though as far as acclimating to society on the surface went, her strange appearance and accidental haughtiness have thus far held her back. 
Despite being a kind and well-meaning woman, Esca was raised as royalty, and has skewed views on both the hardships of life, as well as what normal people go through because of it.
It was that struggle to better understand her new people what inspired her to become an adventurer, alongside her flighty ideals of freedom of course. 
Constantly being on the move certainly made evading her family easier, as well as evading anyone else she accidentally pissed off.
Esca’s breasts are on the smaller end of the spectrum though not outright petite, just large enough so as to nearly fill her hands. Her nipples, despite being used to the cold of the ocean’s depths, are still not used to feeling airflow, and become erect incredibly easily on the surface.
Her breasts are especially vascular, with her veins almost always being visibly prominently visible through her semi-translucent skin. Her areola and nipple shape are both average, though they do extend out and grow a bit thicker than is normal while erect. (Perfect for clamps, and pinching)
Esca’s skin begins to progress into scales around the small of her back, though on her front her skin extends downwards in something of a “V” shape.
Her taut stomach and navel are both fully skin, save for some small patches of flesh-colored scales, with the highest points of her scales on the front of her body extending down diagonally from her hips.
The scale-line is angled so that is progresses slowly, taking a bit over eight inches to come together in a rounded corner, just below Esca’s notably fleshy vagina, which sits flat on her skin rather than being hidden between legs.
She has a small patch of white pubes above it, which flare outwards slightly and grow thinner as they extend upwards towards her navel.

I've read what I've written in horror. Shimmer has been screaming in what I assume is pain for the past three hours. The cremlings that I assume are possessed by Mistspren watch me. They stare and I hear whispers.
My mind and memories are full of holes. I know I should hate what I've done, from a logical standpoint. I know that I have ceased to be Human, I know that what I plan will cause more suffering.
I physically can't feel bad about it anymore. One of my shattered memories is of me tearing that out from myself. The empathy that prevented me from seeking answers.
If anyone finds my notes, Hemalurgy as outlined here creates a new being and tortures any bonded spren. I think my lucidity will end in the coming minutes. I am not strong enough to stop myself, and for that I feel I must apologize.

The Parshendi are nothing like I remember. They use Warform, but they don't have any of the Fused or even Thunderclasts.
I feel like I've made this observation before...
As I am not technically an Ardent, I can own things, though only a small amount of things, like a low nobleman, but I have to remain in the service of a noble. So, I've found myself in the employ of one Torol Sadeas.
Regardless, I've recommended to Sadeas the strategy of expendable and mobile bridgemen. It allows for a far larger area of influence and a quicker response.

He accepted my suggestion! Wonderful! The benefits were made up, luckily the theory seems to work well enough. Really I just wanted to scavenge from the fallen.
Sadeas has been willing to grant me my rather unorthodox requests, metals and access to the forges primarily. Though he does seem wary of me, I suppose that is reasonable, I am in a unique position as far as Ardents go.
Despite the assumption that we will be leaving in a few months, I've allowed the familial units to build homes and begin attempts at cultivating the land.

In other news; I've grafted on a few more traits onto myself, though, despite reinforcing my investiture and mind, I can feel myself reaching my limits. Since my body gets refined through the bond, I will see if the Mistspren can help me through my experiments with connection...but I would have to go all the way back to the Cognitive Realm, and I'm nowhere near the perpendicularity...It is interesting how some of the others around camp have begun avoiding stepping on cremlings due to the small swarm that follows me. Some of them aren't even possessed by Mistspren! Though Shimmer calls them 'cognitively weird', very scientific verbiage, thank you Shimmer. She is yelling at me not to write that joke as I wrote it and am writing this.

Brave browser is no longer trustable
TLDR: Brave is manipulating what your browser does to profit the developers personally, sacrificing your security, privacy, bandwidth, and computer resources…. Again

I would also like to note that Brave already has a history of manipulating browser functions for their own benefit. For example when they made specific URLs redirect to the developer’s affiliate links in 2020.
What does this mean for you?
It means that the developers of Brave, have 2 times now manipulated the browser’s functionality in a attempt to profit themselves.
This is not the first time they have done something like this, and most likely won’t be the last time.
If the devs have done this two times, the next time may be even worse, and more privacy reducing then the prior attempts. Even spyware chrome doesn’t do this kind of thing. To give you a idea of how bad this is, if the devs chose to, they could theoretically log your passwords right as you enter them. Though I do not think that they would do something extremely illegal like this, they will definitely find in the future even more ways of profiting themselves (not even the company, just themselves) at your own loss.
I am afraid to say that I, personally, no longer trust Brave and won’t be recommending it to anyone, and I think that you should stop using it too.
