James Earl Jones - US Army

Jones was an exceptional cadet, a member of the Pershing Rifles Drill Team and the National Society of Scabbard and Blade. The same performance ability that let him excel with the Pershing Rifles led him to the Michigan's School of Music, Theatre & Dance. He knew he wanted to be an actor, but he once referred to his fellow cadets as "the only semblance of a social life."

He initially left the university without completing his degree. With the Korean War raging at the time, he thought he would be sent overseas. But it ended in an armistice later that year, and although he returned to graduate in 1955, Jones' life took a different course.

After graduating from college, he was sent to Fort Benning, Georgia, for the Officers Basic Course and to attend Ranger School. Jones was assigned to the 38th Regimental Combat Team, where he led the setup of a cold weather training command at Camp Hale near Leadville, Colorado.

"Our regiment was established as a training unit, to train in the bitter cold weather and the rugged terrain of the Rocky Mountains," Jones told the Army in an interview. "I took to the physical challenge, so much so that I wanted to stay there, testing myself in that awesome environment, mastering the skills of survival.

"I loved the austere beauty of the mountains and the exhilaration of the weather and the altitude. I didn't mind the rigors of the work or the pioneer-like existence. I thought it was a good life."

Jones was a good officer and soon was promoted to first lieutenant. When the time came to decide whether the Army should be his career, his commanding officer asked him a poignant question: "Is there anything you feel like doing on the outside?"

His father, Robert Earl Jones, had been an actor performing in plays on stage while James was a young man. Jones told his commanding officer he had always thought about following his father's path. His commander told him he could always come back to the Army, but he should pursue his dreams.

After his discharge, Jones moved to New York City, where he studied acting at the American Theatre Wing using his GI Bill benefits while working as a janitor to support himself.

His first acting jobs came in Michigan at the Ramsdell Theatre in Manistee, where he had once worked as a carpenter and stagehand. Just two years later, he was a lead actor. By 1957, he was on Broadway. In 1964, he made his film debut as Lt. Lothar Zogg, a B-52 Stratofortress bombardier in Stanley Kubrick's "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb."

James Earl Jones' first leading role was in the 1970 film "The Great White Hope," a part he'd previously played on stage. His performance led to his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, making him the second Black man to receive the nod.

After a career spanning more than 60 years, Jones has been called "one of the greatest actors in American history" and "the best known voice in show business." He received the National Medal of the Arts from President George H.W. Bush, Kennedy Center Honors from President George W. Bush and the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award. He also has achieved the "EGOT" -- winning at least one Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award.

But after a lifetime of success, he still remembered his time in the Pershing Rifles as some of the best years of his life. Jones died at his home in Dutchess County, New York on Sept. 9, 2024. He was 93 years old.

Maleah Elise Barzal was born July 31, 1999, the second born of her parents Mike and Nadia. She has an older brother Matthew and a younger sister Liana.

Maleah has always been extremely smart from a young age and she seemed to just pick up knowledge easily, she got accepted into Harvard University at the age of 15.

She joined her first year of college in 2016 where she met her absolute best friend in the whole world, John Marino. He was a few years older than her but they hit it off completely.

Maleah has loves anything to do with fashion, since she could hold up a crayon she was drawing out outfit ideas, she got a sewing machine at a young age and would always make her own clothes.

She started her own fashion business and it blew up right away, she had hundreds of modeling agency’s wanting her to be their designer and many fashion companies reaching out wanting her on their design teams, but she denied all of them and continued to have her business grow.

Her business grew extremely large and became one of the biggest companies in the world within just a few years.

She started her own modeling agency connected to her fashion business and many models left their old agency’s to join Maleah’s. After she got her degree from Harvard she decided it was time to invest in large building for her business, she had many smaller shops across the county but she chose New York and bought a skyline building and that is the city she moved to after College with her son.

Maleah growing up had always played hockey and she loved playing and she was an insanely good hockey player but during the end of high school her business started to get bigger and she didn’t have time to keep playing hockey so she stopped playing but will still get on the ice to play with family.

Maleah had met John in 2016 and Mat had met Anthony in 2015, Maleah and Mat had both met their best friends and of course they introduced them to each other, and then most vacations or summer plans the four of them spent together.

Maleah feels like she has three brothers not just one. Anthony quickly adored Maleah and told everyone he adopted her as his little sister and Maleah didn’t have anyone she wanted to be the godmother of her son besides her sister so Anthony was her son’s other godfather.

She had been in a relationship for a few months in 2018 before she found out she was pregnant and her ex immediately signed off all of his parental rights and was never on her son’s birth certificate.

Malakai Jules Barzal was born July 13, 2019 to his mother Maleah Barzal, He joined her for her last year in College before they moved and lived permanently in a penthouse in New York.

John was the one who was by her side for the whole birth and took care of her throughout the pregnancy and let her almost break his hand while she was giving birth, he was without a doubt the one she named her sons godfather.

Malakai looks exactly like his mother and their is nothing about him that looks like Maleah’s Ex, Maleah loves her sons blonde curls as it reminds her of her own.

Malakai has always been on the shyer side and doesn’t like being around a lot of people unless it’s to play hockey, he seems to picked up his hockey and art skills from his mother.

Malakai really likes to cook in the kitchen with his mom, which helps her out a lot because she hates cooking but cooking with her son makes it enjoyable.

Nico saw Malakai for the first time in 2017 when the Devils were playing at the Islanders and he thought he just saw the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, when he went to try and find her she had disappeared from where he saw. From them he always looked extra in the crowd when playing the Islanders hoping to see her again.

The biggest mystery in zero escape: wtf did Junpei study???

Ignoring Uchikoshi's suggestion that Junpei studied bitcoin in college. In this ramble, I'll be Over Sharing My Headcanons©. The good stuff is under the cut.

Junpei is a social sciences degree guy 100%. I've seen other headcanons in fics where he's a business major, which I mean he really does with a capital D fit the vibes for, socially sciency and all. The way he (in 999) laments having no friends / job / money screams social science guy (I would know).

Now, personally, I'm inclined to think that out of all the social sciences, he's a linguist. His wordplay, references to pop culture, and puns across all the games suggest he's a man of many big words, enough so that he can twist his words to his favour (see: manipulating the other characters sometimes. Junpei "yeah I never said I would open the door myself" mf Tenmyouji). Perhaps his wordy wit is most epitomised by the conception of the funyarinpa on a whim by assembling random Japanese sounds. And God he must've loved the idea of codenames in 999. Too bad he could never give himself a smartly thought out codename based on his bracelet. The cherry on top of this is explaining that Japanese idiom to Carlos. Assume everyone you meet is a thief. Finally he gets to put his knowledge of culture and words to badass use.

Linguistics!Junpei also fits with his whole thing of being Just A Guy who lost his faith in humanity. Studying linguistics, how humans have evolved languages to describe love. Hate. All sorts of human-ness. He really was just a man who thought that people were awesome. But as a detective he learned that humans have a common language in death, showing that words do NOT speak louder than actions. First it was akane sweet talking him and then ghosting him, now he doesn't know how to convey his thoughts honestly because of the horrors of his job.

So here is how the headcanon fully goes. Junpei, since grade school, was always good at picking up other languages and picked apart their meanings in comparison to his native Japanese. He liked learning English and Chinese in school when growing up in the suburban part of a small Japanese city. So when he got older he just accepted that maybe linguistics was for him, since that was what he was good at.

He was average in science and maths, history and geography. His best subject in high school was, as expected, English. So when he applied to college he went for linguistics. His classmates went for Medicine or Law or Politics but Junpei didn't want the responsibility over people's lives like that. So he just accepted that, hey, might as well study something I'm good at. I'll just become a high school English teacher or something. His parents were fine with whatever, he's their only child, at least he's good at something.

So then he went to university, and in his second & third year lived abroad in America as part of his linguistics degree. He lived like the average student in in the US of A, which unfortunately was like his only useful life experience immediately after the 2nd Nonary game [*]. At some point he watched Back To The Future to study how English was some decades before he was born, history of language yadda yadda (I've never spoken to someone who did linguistics so sorry if this sounds off). He's back in Japan for his fourth and final year and had a pretty exhausting day in a boring seminar when he returned to his dorm and got kidnapped.

After the whole second Nonary game fiasco, Junpei was travelling the world speaking the languages he learned: Japanese (mother tongue), English (fluent), Chinese (conversational), Spanish (picked up while in America). This took him far since he managed to hit the bullseye on pretty widely spoken languages it just so happened, but still he couldn't explain in words why he wanted to find Akane. If he loved her or not. After a while he needed money so he joined that detective agency™, it'll also help him find Akane, two birds one stone. Well, we saw how that turned out. Now he was both globetrotting AND traumatised!

He probably settled in America upon becoming a detective, dual citizenship ftw, and better not make mom and dad disappointed in his choice of job. They knew he dropped out but they knew his son was smart, he didn't need a degree to let his language skills flourish. They assumed he got a pretty good legal-related job and managed to talk himself into high wages. Oh, the wages were high alright, to make up for the shit he saw. Mr and Mrs Tenmyouji are just worried about their boy, who after November 2027 didn't really open up to them about anything. Sometimes mom would bring up That Girl You Were The Best Of Friends With but Junpei would just shrug. Dunno what happened to her.

After the decision game, Junpei just accepts how cool he is for being a humble polygot. Explaining the cool etymology of his astronomical family name to Astronomy major Phi (another headcanon for another day) is one of his favourite party tricks. He also wrote a think piece on Puns and the linguistic significance of cats after Sigma meowed too close to the sun.

TL;DR (I don't blame you if you didn't read all that yap) I like to think Junpei was a linguistics major. I'm a strong believer that he's a servant to social science because he's just like me fr.

All throughout, you had listened to how your own mother insisted that Wanda should ensure her about your whereabouts—but the fact that you were also to do such a task seemed more tiring than it needs to be. But for this one last moment, you agreed to every single demands she might have if it meant that she will leave the apartment to finally seal your freedom away from her.

Eventually with the twins tag teaming against your mother, she had finally relented, asking for you to walk her out of the door. You tried to keep your steps less preppy as the excitement was bubbling. This was finally it.

“You are to call me the first moment things aren’t going as planned.” Your mother demanded to which you nodded in reassurance, having nothing else to say that you haven’t already said to her since you’ve decided to study in this University and during her time in the apartment. “If I hear anything out of the ordinary, you will come home and I will see it personally that you are chained to the bedroom if it means I get to see you safe.”

“Mom. Don’t you think that’s too much?” You snort, already used to this side of her, often times fearing that there might just be a possibility of her doing exactly what she says she would if you weren’t careful.

Assorted Suki Lane Headcanons

She is Aroace and uses she/her pronouns.

Suki ran cross country in high school and college on her schools' varsity teams and she still runs to this day, meeting up frequently with an old friend from college who was also on the cross country team to do so.

Her first job was actually as a babysitter, followed by being a receptionist at her childhood dance studio, and eventually an assistant coordinator for a few charities before she went to college.

While she is not a master chef, Suki is a pretty decent cook, having gotten used to making food quickly for herself between meetings.

She was in a dance class taught by Ryan's mom as a kid, causing her to have known the boy his entire life, especially since she was his babysitter throughout his childhood.

Her ipad has two cases, one that she uses for work that's more protective and a more casual one that's covered in stickers she's collected over the years.

While their relationship is a bit strained, Suki visits her parents every other weekend and they overall have an ok relationship at the moment.

Suki grew up in Tokyo but moved to Redshore at seven for her parents' jobs, leading to her eventually gaining dual citizenship.

Having known Porsha since the girl was a young teen, Suki is more used to her than pretty much all members of the cast, leading to her dealing with her whenever Buster and Mrs. Crawly can't get her to listen.

Born the only child of parents who married for every reason except love. Her mother from a wealthy family in the United Kingdom looking for connections in the United States and her father, the son of a prominent business man. Their marriage lasted only a year before they separated, neither could handle being in the same space as the other any longer. It was after the first meeting to prepare for the divorce that they discovered her mother was pregnant. The divorce was finalised the day she was born.

She found it easier to learn in less crowded surroundings, but she had neither the money nor the clout to hire a personal tutor. Fortunately, her memory was quite good, and she rarely forgot anything she heard or read - or, less fortunately, saw.

Shaking her head to drag her thoughts from their musings, she instead once more allowed her gaze to drift across her fellow students. More than a hundred were gathered in the auditorium for today’s lecture, but she only recognized a handful.

There was G’raha Tia, the red-haired miqo’te transfer from the Baldesion College. By rights, he should be in graduate classes, but most of his first degree had been done by proxy in the field, and the university had insisted that he sit some of the junior- and senior-level lecture series he’d missed the first time around before he could enter the graduate program full-time.

Beyond him sat the Leveilleur twins, Alphinaud and Alisaie. Kali still felt they were too young for all of this, but they had the brains and the grades for it, if not the maturity, and their father had insisted. Given that he was a member of the governing board of the university, that was the end of that. And at least they were proving themselves academically, although Alisaie, at least, was suffering on a social level. Or she would be if Alphinaud hadn’t dragged her kicking and screaming into the middle of his - their - group of friends.

Arenvald Lentinus didn’t sit far from them. A member of the university’s Blitzball team, Kali had expected him to be less than academically inclined. Foolish of her, she’d soon realized; other cities’ universities might turn a blind eye to their athletes’ lack of scholastic endeavors, but not Sharlayan. He may not be on the level of the twins, but really, who was?

Certainly not the man a few seats down. Jacke glanced over his shoulder and caught her eye, shooting her a quick, roguish grin. She wasn’t entirely certain how he’d cozened his way into the university, but she was fairly certain it had something to do with the pale-haired man now flirting quietly with a pink-haired miqo’te on the other side of the room. The two men were as thick as thieves - which was, she reflected even as she grinned right back at the dark-haired hyur, about the only reason Thancred even knew her name. Not that Jacke Swallow was stupid - far from it, but his smarts were more practical than academic. She’d spent enough nights helping him with his homework - among less academic pursuits - to know.

Still, he wasn’t failing, and it wasn’t all her help.

She wasn’t entirely certain the same could be said for the little lalafell writing feverishly in her notebook. It wasn’t that Tataru didn’t try - and it wasn’t that everyone in their little band of misfits didn’t do everything in their power to help her - but her sense was all business sense, and there was very little room in that busy little brain of hers for less practical knowledge. They all did the best they could for her, but she’d ended up on academic probation two semesters in a row, and Kali didn’t much like her chances this time. Once more, and they’d rescind her admission. And wouldn’t that be a crying shame?

Of the last few members of Kali’s social circle, they weren’t here at the moment. Two of them were teaching assistants for professors in other tracks; she’d see them later in the day. One was out in the field with her advisor. And the last two weren’t students at the university at all, but rather members of the nearby high school. She’d probably see them this evening when the group met up at their regular study hangout.

Bulk and Skull in the Powerverse

In the aftermath of the Battle of Angel Grove, Farkas Bulkmeier and Eugene Skullovitch parted ways. Bulk chose to leave Earth on Terra Venture along with Professor Phenomenus . Before Bulk departed he and Skull were entrusted with the identities of the various Angel Grove Rangers, a secret they vowed to keep. On Terra Venture Bulk and Phenomenus ended up working at the Comet Cafe with Bulk using his years of experience at Ernie’s Juice Bar as guidance. Back on Earth, Skull wrote a book titled “City of Power: Life in Angel Grove” about what life was like in Angel Grove before and during the arrival of the Power Rangers up to the Battle of Angel Grove. To his shock the book was a major success. After Terra Venture arrived on Mirinoi the Galaxy Rangers offered to use a nearby wormhole to return anyone to Earth if they chose. Bulk was homesick at this point and took them up on the offer while the Professor remained on Mirinoi. When the pair reunited Bulk found that Skull had made it rich from the profits of his book. Skull offered to handle all of Bulk’s finances but his pride kept him from accepting money he did not earn. An uncle of Bulk’s offered the pair ownership of a bar his hotel owned and while running it they met up with Tommy for the first time in years. However the bar was not to last and soon went under. Skull went on a world tour promoting a second release of his book and during his travels he met a single mother he hit it off with eventually marrying and adopting her son. The boy loved his new stepfather and nicknamed himself Spike in his honor. Bulk meanwhile bounced around from job to job until finally accepting a janitorial job at Ernie’s. He joked that it was the universe making him clean up the messes he made in his youth. Ernie encouraged Bulk to give college a try and even helped pay for his tuition. Bulk would graduate with a degree in business management. Sadly Ernie’s health took a turn and he left Bulk his Juice Bar in his will. Bulk kept the name in honor of the kindly man who gave so many teens and children a safe place to meet and relax. Skull and his wife decided to go on a second honeymoon in the aftermath of the Stellar Empire’s first invasion of Earth. While they were gone Spike would get a job at Ernie’s as a janitor loving the chance to hang out with his Uncle Bulk. When the Pirate Rangers arrived they quickly made the Juice Bar one of their favorite hang outs. Even if the Captain original mistook it for an actual bar. Skull would return to Angel Grove in time for the Empire’s final attack. Bulk Spike and Skull would assist in the aftermath and even helped pull the Silver Pirate Ranger from the wreckage of his zord. After some words of encouragement the trio helped as many people as they could. Skull would write a new forward to his book addressing the ranger’s now public identity and it once more became a best seller with many former rangers even asking him to autograph their copies. Bulk continues to run Ernie’s Juice Bar finally content with his place in life making a difference wherever he can. Powerverse

Parvez Sharma was born on 8th July of 1975 in a small town of New Delhi. His parents were sunni muslim. He grew up in various cities all over India.
