kim seungmin x gn!reader — working the morning shift at a cafe on weekdays isn't really the best, entertainment wise. still, eavesdropping on your customers wasn't something you did on a daily basis. it just so happened that two of your regulars had something in store for you today.
GENRE/S — fluff, humor, a pinch of angst, cafe/coffee shop au, writer!seungmin (barely mentioned) • 1.2k words
WARNING/S — profanity for humor, seungmin is pretty down in the dumps for most of this, part 2 of this fic but a different y/n, mentions of unrequited love
( ✒️ ) happy birthday to @seungiepaws !! here's your request for a part 2 of universe lovie, i know i said i'll do a drabble as a gift but it ended up a little longer so you're getting a whole fic mwah <3 i hope you like it

Tumblr media
The small bell perched on top of the cafe’s entrance door chimed softly at the arrival of a new customer. Your well-rehearsed greetings immediately followed, words racing out of your lips before you could even think twice. It really didn’t matter whether you meant them or not. As long as the guest felt welcomed, then that meant you were already doing your job well.
You doubt any of them ever even acknowledged your efforts, anyway. That was just how the world worked on a normal Monday morning—everyone running on autopilot until the seemingly brainless hoard of zombies got their lethal dose of caffeine or sugar and started acting like proper functioning members of society for the rest of the day. Then, the cycle repeats.
As an “all-rounder” cafe employee (as you liked to call yourself), this was just another day in the bigger scale of the year. Not too important, nor was it a particularly boring day. That simply wasn’t possible if you were working at a cafe, or really, just working in general.
“You’re always here, dude.” An exasperated voice groans from the window booth next to the serving counter. You recognized his face right away as one of your regulars who looked like a hamster. “At this point, you need to pay this place rent.”
The man he was talking to rolled his eyes with a scoff, even though his fingers never stopped typing on his laptop’s keyboard. “I’m a paying customer. Objectively, I’m already giving them money to stay here.”
You couldn’t help but silently snort at the guy’s comeback. He wasn’t entirely wrong, after all. This cafe’s prices already took into account the amenities they could use here. So technically speaking, as long as customers bought something from the cafe’s menu, they could stay for as long as they want until the establishment closes. That’s not usually the case, though. Most people still had places to be and other things to do other than have a staycation on some random cafe seat.
Note that you said “most” instead of “all”. Of course, there were always bound to be those who, for the lack of a better description—overstayed their welcome.
And one of them is that chestnut-haired male who was currently getting berated by his friend.
“Seungmin, seriously!” The other guy, who you finally remembered being named Jisung from his previous orders, exclaimed in concern. “You can’t just stay here all day, every day. I know you’re trying to get over your roommate, but at least make use of your rent?” Jisung almost pleads.
You really didn’t mean to eavesdrop on their conversation, as the topic seemed awfully private, but what exactly could you do from the close proximity of the counter and their booth? It’s not like you were judging the two of them. There was no harm intended, and you were sure you’d still go about your day as usual with or without this newly obtained knowledge from strangers.
Seungmin sighed. “I don’t think you want me to be cooped up in my room writing either, so what do you really want to achieve?” His hands finally parted ways from his keyboard for the first time in about an hour. “Jisung, you know being alone in the apartment is only going to remind me of how my roommate is out there with their boyfriend being all happy and enjoying life while I’m over here writing sappy fictional love stories because I don’t have one of my own.”
“Oh, but you do.” Jisung huffs. “It’s just the unrequited kind.”
“Haha, very funny.”
“Just saying,” he comments. “I’m gonna let you sulk all you want as part of your healing process, but you really shouldn’t be sacrificing yourself just for the thought of them. You deserve better, Min.”
If you could only agree out loud, then you already would’ve. Unfortunately, that meant revealing the fact that you’ve been secretly listening in to the personal conversations of your customers, and you weren’t completely sure if that was even legal for you to do so. Still, what are they going to do? Charge you for having ears?
“I don’t know,” Seungmin mutters. “I’ll manage it eventually.” And to this, Jisung only frowns.
Now, you were just as frustrated as Jisung was. Seungmin is an attractive guy—you were one hundred percent certain that he could get anyone head-over-heels for him if he wanted. And yet, here he was, a monotone mess over unrequited love? Whoever that roommate is, they had severely failed to see the vision since if that was you, best believe you weren’t letting him go just like that.
Seungmin had honestly caught your eye ever since the moment he started going to this cafe. To put things into perspective, you were practically all smiles for the rest of the day every time he came to order something in the mornings before his daily schedule. When he started staying for whole days, it was only a matter of time before you ended up shooting your shot, even if you barely knew anything about him. Heck, the most you even knew about him was that he liked the chocolate muffins the most here!
A plate of chocolate muffin was heavily plopped down on the two men’s table, startling them due to the sudden act. They exchanged confused glances before Jisung cleared his throat to speak. “Uh—we didn’t order that.”
“It’s on the house.” You pursed your lips.
“What?” Seungmin asks, dumbfounded. You knew he was going to ask for a reason until he saw the look on your face while staring at him. His expression quickly shifted to one of mortification. “Were—were you eavesdropping on us?”
You clicked your tongue. How were you finding his reaction to that so cute? “Look, I didn’t mean to,” you explain. “See that counter? Just how far do you think my station is to your booth for me not to hear a single thing?” Seungmin only grumbles—probably to hide his embarrassment.
“Alright, sure. Whatever,” he says. “I still don’t need that muffin.”
Your eye twitched involuntarily. All of a sudden, you were already leaning on their table with narrowed eyes pointed at the laptop-facing man. “Okay, listen here, you soggy rained-on puppy.” You could have sworn you heard Jisung choke. “This is gonna sound really shitty of me, but there are plenty more fish in the sea. The same goes for your experiences in life. Trust me, you’re not even close to losing those opportunities yet. Unless you’re trying to live like a saint, that is. So grow some balls after your little pity party.”
“That was,” Seungmin exhales shakily. “Vaguely threatening. But somehow I’m not as offended as I thought I would be, so—uh, thanks?” He taps lightly on the plastic cup of his drink, looking away awkwardly.
You lifted yourself off the table and crossed your arms. “My name is Y/N. I work here every morning on the weekdays.”
“Right,” he hums, still not glancing your way and instead facing the baked good you dropped by their tabletop. “So, is this muffin really free?”
All you let yourself give him was a nonchalant shrug. “Yeah. Just call me whenever or something. Congratulations on hooking a new fish,” you said without shame before walking away back to your station.
If you only looked back for a moment, you would’ve seen Jisung gasping for air from laughter with an incredibly red faced Seungmin blanking out as he held a serious staring contest with his muffin.
You could only hope that cheered him up a bit.

Musician Age Gap AU Pt 9
Weeks pass, and their evening phone calls continue. The timing varies, but its a rare day that Kara doesn't hear from Lena. Each call feels like a gift, as Kara remains conscious of the constraints on Lena's time, and the energy expended on days she does her shows.
But on those rare evenings where her phone stays quiet, Kara can't help the concern that tickles at the back of her mind. She manages to refrain from issuing a check in, certain that it would be considered a nag, or at the very least an entitlement to Lena's time.
The morning following one such evening, the first text she receives comes in after she settles behind her desk, ready to tackle a mountain of paperwork. When she opens the chat window, she's confused to see an image of a glass-paned wall of an office building.
It's not until she spots the building number that she realizes that it's *her* building.
She all but sprints to the lobby, bursting through the front doors to come to a sudden stop to see a black suv and a casually dressed Lena Luthor leaning against it.
When Lena beams, warmth pools in Kara's chest. She surges back into motion, breathlessly throwing her arms around Lena to squeeze long and hard.
"I wanted it to be a surprise," Lena says into her shoulder, seemingly content to remain in Kara's embrace as long as possible.
Kara laughs. "The best surprise. I've missed you."
When she pulls back, Lena all but bounces on her toes. "You down to play hookie with me?"
"Dodging another meeting?"
"Actually.... I miiiiight have cleared my schedule." From her puckish grin, Lena doesn't appear to feel all that guilty about it.
Kara's heart skips a beat. She can't remember the last time anyone has ever set aside time dedicated to her. It's been years since her last real committed relationship, and even then the time she spent with her partner had been perfunctory, a matter of course. It hadn't made her feel... special.
"Let me grab my purse."
---
They go to the movies. It's Lena's idea, but Kara is the one to choose the goofy comedy that has Lena in stitches before the end of the first act. And if the sound of Lena's giggling heats Kara's cheeks, who could blame her?
They continue to snack on their bucket of popcorn even as they leave the theater. Lena wears the same denim jacket over a zip up hoodie that she'd worn their first day in the park, and with her sunglass firmly in place, she almost looks like a normal person. No one seems to give them a second glance, for which Kara is deeply grateful for.
Selfishly, she wants to keep Lena for herself, for as long as possible.
"When's the last time you went on vacation?" Lena asks, apropro of nothing.
Kara blinks at the unexpected question. She takes time off every year, but she doubts her little staycations to relax and recharge are what Lena would consider a proper break.
"Define vacation," Kara hedges.
Lena laughs. "Time away, somewhere else. Maybe... with someone?"
Sensing the direction the conversation is headed, a thrill of adventure sparks in Kara's belly, even as she begins to talk her way out of it.
"Lena, I don't know..."
"I know, I know, but listen! I've got five days before my next show in Paris, and it's the longest stretch I'll have free for months, and... I want to spend those five days with you."
Kara stares at her. Lena rushes to fill the silence.
"We could go to Capri. Or the alps, if you want somewhere cooler? Or--"
"Yes," Kara interjects. Lena's rambling halts in surprise. Kara grins. "I don't care where we go."
Lena's answering smile puts the sun to shame.
---
Capri is gorgeous. Kara expects to them to be taken to another lavish hotel, but instead their driver heads to residential area, and when they stop, Kara finds herself at the gate of a sprawling villa.
"Wow."
Lena nudges her playfully. "Wait til you see the real view.
Kara follows Lena's lead. Carry-ons in hand, they make their way into the main area of the villa. When Lena places her bag on one of the long couches in the middle of the room, Kara does the same, then allows Lena to lead her by the hand to the verandah at the back.
The whitewashed terrace serves as the perfect frame for the vista that sprawls beyond the walled perimeter of the villa, all the way down to flat stretch of ocean reaching towards the horizon.
"Wow..." Kara breathes.
"I know, right?" Lena turns, sidling a little closer to press a chaste kiss to the corner of Kara's jaw. When her head rested on Kara's shoulder, Kara let her cheek rest atop it. "I'm glad you're here."
Kara sighs, surprisingly content. "Me too."
---
Though the villa's kitchen is fully stocked and equipped, Lena insists on going out for dinner. "I'm not about to stay in on a night like tonight," she says, and Kara offers little protest.
They choose the restaurant on sight alone, and the food is sumptuous and, once the sun goes down, decorated with a blanket of stars overhead. Lena looks stunning in a white shift dress, perfect for the weather and venue, and Kara's gaze roves in a certainly non-platonic way. She only feels a little bad about it when Lena catches her staring.
The other woman's gaze deepens as she reads Kara's appreciation in her expression, and a knowing smile curls her lips. When Lena's bare foot brushes Kara's shin beneath the table, Kara can't bring herself to pull away. She wants Lena, and she's rapidly running out of reasons to talk herself out of it.
Along the walk back to the villa, Kara points out as many constellations as she can recognize, only for Lena to laugh.
"There is no way I could possibly tell which stars you're pointing at," she says.
Rather than be deterred, Kara pulls them to stop. She positions herself behind Lena, her front pressing close against Lena's back. So close that she can feel the hitch of Lena's breath when Kara reaches one arm over her right shoulder, pointing at the brilliant anchor of the big dipper.
"There. You've got the bright one, which is Polaris. The north star. Follow it that way, and you can see the rest of Ursa Major."
Kara turns her chin to gaze down at Lena. The younger woman's skin glows in the moonlight, her hair nearly merging into the shadows. She looks ethereal against the moonlight off the sea, but in Kara's arms she's all to tangible.
"See it?"
"Yeah," Lena croaks. She tries again. "Yeah, I do." She shifts, reaching back to let one hand rest against Kara's hip. The touch is intimate though non-sexual-- a simple gesture to keep Kara exactly where she is. "Show me more?"
Kara does. She's able to point out most of the greeks-- Orion and Cassiopeia and Andromeda, among others. It's at least another hour before they get back to the villa, and the long walk leaves them melting into the couch the moment they sit.
Unable to keep from dozing off, even with the lights blazing, Kara wakes hours later to find Lena asleep on her shoulder. It doesn't even occur to her to move.
When next she wakes, however, Lena is nowhere to be found. Sunlight streams through the tall arched windows, illuminating the spacious room with a pale light that doesn't help this trip feel any less like a dream.
Stretching the kinks out of her back as she rises, Kara meanders to the kitchen, only to find it similarly empty. From there she explores the adjoining hallways, until the sound of hushed, harsh murmurs draws her towards one of the bedrooms.
Peeking through the open door, Kara spies Lena pacing, phone pressed tightly to her ear in agitation. Kara can't discern her words, but her tone is clear enough-- something is wrong.
Lena looks up when Kara gives the door a light push, and Kara is taken aback by the tears glittering in her eyes. Lena turns away slightly, muttering a swift "I have to go," before ending the call.
"I'm sorry," Lena grinds out, turning back towards Kara. "This-- this was a terrible idea, and I-- I shouldn't have pushed it--"
"Whoa, hey..." Kara interrupts gently. "What's wrong?"
Lena sniffs, before unlocking her phone to give to Kara. There, in all their telephoto glory, are a slew of photos-- of them. Here in Capri. One of them captures the moment Lena had kissed Kara's jaw the day before on the terrace, and others track their trek through the village and their dinner at the restaurant. The last one shows the two of them at the outlook, Lena pressed to Kara's front, with Kara's arm stretching towards the stars.
"I know--" Lena's voice cracks. "I know you didn't want this. That you didn't-- want to be seen with me."
Kara frowns. Papparazzi hasn't even been a thought in her mind, beyond one of their outings being interrupted by people hounding Lena. Her concern-- her *only* hesitation to committing towards something deeper-- has been the dread of losing Lena before having more than a taste of her.
"I swear, I didn't know they knew where we'd be," Lena continues. By now, quiet tears have spilled down her cheeks. "I didn't *know*--"
"Hey," Kara says sofly, cupping Lena's damp cheeks with both hands. "It's okay."
Lena shakes her head. "It's not," she croaks. "You didn't want this..."
"I want you."
The confession comes easier than Kara expects. It stills Lena to a mere tremble, her eyes taking on a hopeful glimmer through the tears.
"Anything else, I'll handle it."
Lena swallows, throat clicking. "*We'll* handle it?" she corrects, tentatively.
Offering a smile, Kara leans in and presses a soft kiss to Lena's lips.
"We," Kara confirms.
Lena exhales, tension bleeding from her in a visible whoosh. She steps Kara's arms when they open, nestling herself into the embrace as her hands grip tightly against Kara's shoulderblades.
"We'll do it together."

Thinking about how Jonathan is trying to pass the time during Vampire Hell Staycation with all the books in the library (a guaranteed Dracula Zone), no stationery (bastard), and a finite amount of secret pen ink and secret diary pages left at his disposal (shit). Reading and writing and art are all out. What’s left?
I like to think, in this order:
1)    He remembers that he has a pack of playing cards in the general luggage Dracula didn’t snatch. A gift Lucy had bestowed on him and Mina, a pack apiece, as she insisted that it was the best way to pass an hour in dreary company that wasn’t to do with gossip or politics.
2)    He doesn’t normally play, if only because he doesn’t have the coin to meet any real gambling stranger at a table. Just a ‘for fun’ thing.
3)    Fuck it. Solitaire. Card towers. It’s something to keep his mind off the…everything.
4)    He gets exactly one (1) day/evening of peace with this. Then:
5)    “Whatever are you up to, my friend?”
(He didn’t even use the door to give Jonathan time to hide the pack. Misted in. No shadow to give him away. Fantastic.) Jonathan staples his smile back in place and rattles off something apologetic, so sorry, was he keeping the Count waiting? Let him just put this away, he wouldn’t be interested—
6)    Smash cut to the library. The cards are now unofficially confiscated/a staple of the Dracula Zone, alongside the fancy crystal chessboard the Count loves to crush him with on a semi-regular basis. Jonathan is walking him through the rules of sundry card games. Unsurprisingly, he latches onto the concept of American poker readily. The game is a soup of similar European predecessors that light up his eyes with recognition—primero, poque, brelan—sewn together with England’s game of brag into a medley of the initial rules, both written and unwritten.
7)    “A game of skill, then?”
“Skill, acting, and luck.”
Dracula grins as he produces a ransom of gold coins to use as chips. Jonathan deals.
(What are the extra rules here? Does he throw every hand? Does he play in earnest and inevitably lose anyway? Does it even matter? It isn’t chess, after all. Not a proper strategy game. Cards happen. Guesswork happens. A winner and loser every turn. What does it matter?)
8)    Jonathan realizes two dozen hands later that what matters is, apparently, his face. One that, likewise apparently, cannot be read by the Count in this game. Out of those two dozen hands, Jonathan has won eighteen. Of those eighteen, his hand was the clear dud for nine. Through it all, Dracula’s eyes keep jumping from his own hand to Jonathan’s tired gaze. When Jonathan wins the twenty-fifth hand and the mountain of gold on his side of the table risks toppling off the edge, Dracula bites out a word Jonathan is sure is too caustic to have a spot in the lost polyglot dictionary.
9)    “You have a gift for schooling your face, my friend.” Every word is an icicle; each as sharp as the canines jutting out of the rictus grin.
“I don’t,” Jonathan says.
And it’s true. Now he’s schooling his face—first lesson of anyone destined for the realm of serving others—but in the game, he’s barely thinking of anything else beyond the ticking of the clock. To punctuate this, he slides the heap of gold back to Dracula’s side of the table.
“This is only a game for the fun of it. In a game with stakes, there would be something worth playing and worrying for. When you get to England,” his face is very, very schooled as he says this, “you’ll find a much more varied competition at gambling tables. The players who really train their expressions can do so with fortunes at stake, while novices reveal every victory or loss plainly on their face.”
10) Dracula considers this. And smiles.
11) “Ah, then there must be stakes before we can play the game properly. Still, you have won the bulk of these rounds, my friend—” his hand seems like it wants to be strangling something when it drums atop the gold heap, “—and done me the charity of not taking your rightful winnings.” He throws down his cards. Ace and deuce of spades. “I shall have to speak with the kitchen about producing a stand-in prize.”
He leaves. Jonathan doesn’t blink when he hears the door lock behind him. A card pyramid is erected.
12) Paprika hendl for supper. As excellent as he remembers. Huzzah.
13) The next time he’s herded into the library, he sees what looks suspiciously like his travel paraphernalia flimsily hidden behind a bit of drapery. Dracula is shuffling the deck.
14) “A true prize on the table this time, my friend. I know you are one to appreciate the splendor of our beautiful country, just as I know it is, for your own safety, quite impossible to go exploring alone in the wild. Too many wolves about. But if you win the majority tonight, I shall see to it that my driver takes a leave from his own many errands to escort you beyond the castle for a time, if you so wish.”
“…And if I lose the majority?” He can’t help it: “I’m sure there’s little from me you’d be interested in.”
Dracula grins.
“We shall think of something, I’m certain. Here. Deal.”
15) As expected, Jonathan’s face isn’t effortlessly unreadable in its misery anymore. He has something to play for, even if his trust in Dracula’s dangling carrot on the stick is nigh nonexistent. He loses more. He struggles more. He worries more…
16) …But the wins and losses remain surprisingly even. On into the dawn they play, matching victory for victory. Even the Count seems puzzled. Jonathan is just tired. He was never going to win. The ‘driver’ will fall to some mysterious ailment, his possessions will disappear the moment he’s sent out of the room ahead of the Count. To Hell with it.
17) “I forfeit. We remain tied, so neither has to lose.” A sour smile curls. “Besides, I have kept you up too late again.”
“One more.”
“We can say you won—,”
Dracula gives him a Look.
Jonathan sits again. Plays again.
Wins again.
Dracula hisses several words the polyglot dictionary would be scandalized to translate. Jonathan feels the first genuine smile he’s wanted to make in a month and a half try to creep up on his lips, and stifles it.
18) Dracula turns over his cards and thumbs though the deck as if looking for a conspirator. He even scowls at Jonathan’s forearms, both bare through the whole game as he’d rolled up his sleeves. Still grumbling, his thumbnail finally hooks a card that makes a cloud pass over his face.
19) “What. Is this?”
Jonathan looks.
“Oh, that’s just a Joker.”
“Joker?”
“Yes, I thought I’d taken him out. He’s not a usable card in this game, but he’s sometimes used as a trump or wild card in others. That is, he’s there to turn the tide for whoever gets to play him.”
Jonathan reaches for the card to tuck it back in the box. Dracula pulls it out of reach, walks to the fireplace, and flicks it into the flames.
“Say what you will, but I recognize a symbol of sabotage when I see it. It should not be in the deck at all!” Still watching the little harlequin turn to cinders, he flaps his other hand at Jonathan. “Go rest, my friend. Take that infernal game with you. It is not a respectable pastime for men of our like.”
20) Jonathan gathers up the deck, gives his travel kit a last mournful look, and leaves for his bedroom, knowing not to ask after the walk in the forest as he goes. In his bed, he empties the deck into his hand again and thinks on four things.
Skill.
Acting.
Luck.
And…
21) He turns the deck’s neglected second Joker over in his fingers, the impish face seeming to hold a secret in its grin.
22) When he wakes next, he isn’t surprised to find the deck has been stolen. It doesn’t trouble him. Somehow, it even produces a tired grin on his face. It nearly matches the painted thing hidden, wild and powerful, in the pages of his journal.

PART 8 | drinkin' on the beach (with you all over me)
“So, will you tell me where we’re going yet?” you asked slyly.
“You’ll see when we get there,” he replied, fighting a smile. He extended the hand not carrying your suitcase, which you took as you descended the rest of the steps.
“I just don’t get why you’re not -”
You stopped mid-sentence, realizing what Steve was leading you towards.
“Is that -?”
Your question was answered as he popped the trunk of the red Ferrari, placing your suitcase inside.
“It’s mine. Well, ours, I guess. For the week.”
“You’re - you can’t just rent a car like this -”
“I can,” Steve said, slamming the trunk close. He smiled smugly, then shrugged. “I know a guy.”
You managed to pick your jaw up from where it was hanging and rolled your eyes.
“Of course you do,” you said, making your way to the passenger side. “So -”
“Hop in,” he said, opening the door for you. “You’ll love it, I promise.”
You took his hand and let him help you in, Steve closing the door behind you and coming around until he was in the driver’s seat, right next to you.
“Wow,” you said under your breath.
“What is it?”
“I just - I realized I’ve never actually seen you drive before. Or, been in the front of a car with you, really.”
He chuckled, sitting back in his seat.
“Well, there’s a first time for everything. Ready?”
You nodded, clicking on your seatbelt as he pulled away from the curb.
“So - what did you say to Robin to get her to agree to taking me away all week? She usually loves to go all-out for my birthday, as much as I tell her she doesn’t have to.”
He shrugged. “I’m pretty good at sweet talking.”
You thought about your roommate for a moment, and the idea of her being sweet-talked into anything, and snorted. “Cute, what did you actually do?”
A pause. Then, “I promised I’d pay for your belated birthday party. Whatever she has planned, I said I’d help make it happen.”
“Oh my God.”
“What?”
“You don’t understand! Robin loves birthdays! And like, I don’t hate them, but I’ve just never been much of a big celebrator or anything, and she always goes nuts. And now you’re giving her a budget? You’ve created a monster, Harrington.”
He laughed, reaching down to take your hand. He gave it a tight squeeze.
“Well, I’m sorry. But, I’ll do my best to rein her in, yeah?”
“Yeah, sure, good luck with that.”
It’s only several minutes later, after you’ve both laughed it off, that you realized he was still holding your hand as he drove. Had he ever done something like that before? Before you could dwell on it, you pulled your hand away, hoping that reaching for the water bottle in the cupholder made it seem nonchalant.
You cleared your throat.
“So - can I know where we’re going yet?”
“You certainly can guess, if you want.”
You sighed, throwing your head back against the headrest.
“Okay - well, you said I didn’t need a passport, so we’re not flying anywhere. And, you said to pack bathing suits, so I’m guessing the beach, or pool, maybe. So, staycation? In Italy, somewhere?”
His face remained neutral. “Maybe.”
“You’re impossible.”
He chuckled, taking a moment to glance over at you.
“Just, trust me, yeah?”
After a moment, you sighed, giving up.
“Yeah, okay.”
As you drove out of the city, you turned the conversation towards his business trip. You asked him about work, how it went, and leaned back and listened. He mostly vented about it, but you paid it no mind - in reality, it was just nice to be with him again. You tried not to think about that part of it too much, though.
The highrises and busy city streets began quieting, giving way to residential townhouses and open roads. The traffic had lessened, the scenery becoming greener, the road narrower.
“So, how long until we get there?” you asked.
“About 4 hours, give or take,” he said. “It’ll be worth the road trip, I promise.”
“I don’t mind a road trip.”
Not with him, you didn’t.
You found yourself glancing over at Steve every now and then - he had only been gone a week, and you had forgotten just how unabashedly handsome he was in-person. As he stared straight ahead at the road, you took in his side profile, and the way his hazel eyes shone in the sunlight, his hands gripped firmly on the wheel.
Feeling your eyes on him, he spared a glance in your direction. Instead of looking away, you just felt yourself smiling, keeping eye contact.
“What is it?” he asked.
“Nothing - it’s just… you really didn’t have to do… whatever this is. You spoil me, you know.”
His hand found itself on your thigh, giving it a squeeze.
“It’s my favorite thing to do, baby.”
Baby. He had started calling you that more often now outside of the bedroom. You didn’t protest when he kept that hand there, for most of the drive.
Eventually, you found yourself dozing off, the steady motion of the car and low hum of the radio lulling you to sleep. You only found yourself waking when the car came to a halt, blinking groggily.
In front of you was a pier, boats bobbing in the water as cars lined up. The sea stretched out before you, bright blue in the late morning light.
“What are we -”
“We’re catching a ferry,” Steve said.
“So, an island vacation?”
He just shrugged, pulling the car up to the dock to load on. You sighed.
“You know, I barely had any idea what to pack. I just threw stuff into a bag.”
“Don’t worry about that - I brought another suitcase for you, bought you some stuff.”
“Of course you did.”
You still had the inner instinct to lecture him, to berate him for spending so much money on you. But, you couldn’t ignore the way he grinned, proud of being able to spoil you. If you asked him to bring you the stars, he’d probably find a way.
The ferry trip was about an hour long, Steve following you to the upper deck to stretch your legs. You leaned on the edge, looking down at the water below you, the wake of the boat making the bright blue water churn into white seafoam. The salt air blew through your hair, Steve’s arm finding its way around your waist.
Before too long, you found yourselves back in the car and driving off the ferry. You took a moment to assess your surroundings, blinking in the afternoon sun. The port was busy, green hills and rocky mountains stretching out before you in the distance, dotted with colorful buildings. The sea was sparkling, clear as day with an aquamarine hue. The harbor was bustling, boats of all sized docking at the port. People rode their bikes along the pier, the sounds of the water breaking along the coast a consistent din in the background.
“Okay, now can you tell me where we are?”
Steve laughed.
“Yes - It’s called Ischia Island. It’s kind of become a tourist trap recently, but don’t worry, we’re going to the other side of the island - it’s much quieter.”
“I don’t care about that -”
“I know, but - I guess it’d be nice to have some privacy, you know?”
So you let Steve continue to drive, bypassing the main port and heading up the small dirt road, slowly climbing the mountains. It was beautiful - from up here, the views of the coast were breathtaking. For the first time, you truly realized how much Steve wanted to make this special, pulling out all of the stops for you. In all of your time in Italy, you had never had the time or money to do anything touristy, let alone take an actual vacation. Suddenly, it was nearly overwhelming. You glanced over with Steve, taking him in for a moment. Then, the idea hit you.
“How far are we?”
“Close - probably like 15 minutes. I think you’re going to like where we’re staying.”
“Is this road busy?” you asked quietly.
“Here? No, not really. It’s pretty quiet, I kind of wanted it to be -”
“Okay, good,” you said, cutting him off. “Because you’re going to find a place to pull over.”
He glanced over at you, perplexed.
“Why? Are you feeling alright?”
You nodded, leaning across the console to press your lips to his ear.
“I want to thank you, Harrington. Preferably by sucking your cock.”
You were surprised he didn’t drive the car over the edge of the road and into the ocean.
*******
You and Steve didn’t reach your destination until about 45 minutes later, after you had your way with him. In the end, he was a mess, begging you to put him out of his misery after prolonged teasing from the passenger seat. Afterwards, you were shocked he was even capable of driving again.
Finally, though, you saw it - the place you were presumably staying. Steve pulled the car up a small dirt driveway, to where a beautiful villa was tucked at the top of a hill. Its white stucco exterior was striking against the rolling green mountains, stone steps leading up to it. Steve helped you out of the car, gesturing to the house behind him.
“Is this -”
“It’s all ours, baby,” he said, beaming.
“I - I just assumed we were staying at a hotel or something -”
He nearly scoffed. “A hotel? No way, not for this. It’s just us here, the whole place to ourselves.”
He popped the trunk, pulling out the bags, insisting to take yours, too.
You practically bounded up the steps, not even containing your excitement as Steve unlocked the door and waved you in.
Inside, it was bright and airy, the white walls stretching up to high, arched ceilings. There was an open kitchen and eating area, the floor a beautiful blue and white mosaic pattern. With the windows open and curtains pulled aside, the villa was bathed in sunlight. You found yourself going towards the back of the house, gasping at what you saw. Before you was a balcony, with a breakfast nook and, most notably, a pool. But, the most stunning part was the view.  The Tyrrhenian Sea stretched before you, sparkling and bluer than the sky, the city barely visible behind the trees. It smelled like salt and citrus, presumably from the trees abundant with fresh fruit. For the first time, you understood what people meant when they said paradise.
You felt Steve coming up behind you, his presence strong and warm.
“Well - what do you think?”
You paused for a moment, turning around slowly to face him. He looked down at you expectantly, and you reckoned he’d probably be crossing his fingers right now if you couldn’t see them. For some reason, he still thought you were hard to impress.
“You did all this… just for me?”
He nodded.
Before he could even say anything else, you had his face in your hands, kissing him so fiercely that you could barely breathe. He pulled you closer, fingers digging into the small of your back. It was only when you pulled away to catch your breath that you spoke again.
“Where’s the bedroom?”
******
You hadn’t even taken time to explore the rest of the house, tumbling into bed with Steve without a moment’s hesitation. Neither of you took your time, too hasty to touch one another after being separated all week. Steve made quick work of your clothes, pulling you into his lap before sliding into you. You nearly cried at the feeling of him inside you again. Sex with Steve was like a drug, and you were finally able to admit to yourself that you were addicted. It wasn’t long before you were both messes, coming undone in a matter of minutes.
“Fuck,” he whispered, lips pressed to your neck. “So fuckin’ perfect, baby - just like that, oh fuck -”
He was thrusting faster now, practically pounding up into you. You dug your nails into his back, dragging them down as you writhed in his arms, hips meeting his thrusts. Your finger picked up the pace on your clit, and you felt yourself losing control. You bounced in his lap, legs caging him as he pulled you closer.
“Oh, I - ah! Steve - oh, shit, just like that - you feel so good -”
“Yeah? You like when daddy stuffs you with his cock?” he grunted.
“Mm, yeah - I’m so full, I feel you everywhere -”
“Keep squeezin’ me, baby - shit, you’re really going for it, so wet - are you close?”
You bit your lip and nodded,  moaning as you felt the tension building in your core.
“Yeah, so close - I’m gonna cum -”
“Damn right you are - such a good girl, always cumming on daddy’s cock.”
“Only for you,” you whispered in his ear, pulling him closer, arms wrapping around the nape of his neck. That was the final straw for Steve - he cried out your name, hips stilling as he painted your walls with his cum. You felt the warmth of him fill you, and you sighed. He stayed there, heavily for a moment.
“Fuck,” he said after a moment. He pressed a kiss to your shoulder, and you ran your fingers along his scalp soothingly.
“Wait,” he said, pulling back to look at you. “Did you finish?”
You considered lying - it was nearly instinctual, having done it with other partners in the past. But, there was something about Steve that made it impossible to lie to him.
“No,” you admitted. “But, I came close, really close - you always make me cum, it still was good -”
“Nope, not happening,” he said, brow setting with determination.
“What are you -”
But he was reaching down, thumb finding your clit where your bodies met, his softening cock still inside you.
“Steve, what are you - oh! Shit, I -”
You threw your head back, feeling yourself re-approaching your peak as he rubbed deep circles around the bundle of nerves, slowly picking up the pace.
“Steve - you’re still inside -”
“I know,” he whispered. “I want you to cum around me, can you do that, baby?”
“Yes,” you breathed, gasping as his free hand found your breast. “I’m going to cum on your cock, because I’m your good girl -”
“And tomorrow,” he said, coating his fingers in the slick mix of both of you to stimulate your clit, “you’re going to cum over and over, until you can’t walk. I need to make up for it, gonna make you forget your own name, baby.”
“Fuck,” you groaned, feeling yourself squeezing around him. “I’m gonna -”
“Let go,” he encouraged. “Do it, for me, baby.”
And you did. You screamed his name, pulsing and convulsing around his cock as he continued to work you through it. He was still working on your clit, gradually slowing down as you let the wave of pleasure wash through you.
After, you both just stayed there, tangled in each other as you struggled to regain your breath. You felt his heart thudding against yours, bathing in the afterglow as he rubbed soothing circles on your back.
“I missed you,” you finally admitted. “I missed this.”
His hand stilled. For a moment, you wondered if you had said the wrong thing, if you had crossed a line. But, then:
“I missed you too,” he whispered, pressing a kiss into your skin.
You felt your face heat, and just pulled him closer to you, deciding not to say anything else, at risk of doing something you couldn’t come back from.
After a while, you found yourselves laying in bed in a comfortable silence. You could hear the crashing waves and cries of seagulls in the distance. You propped yourself up on your elbow, properly looking at the man beside you.
“So - now that we’re here - what’s the plan? For today?”
Steve stared up at the ceiling, thinking.
“Well, we really only have the afternoon now, so - I’ve got stuff for us to do over the next few days, so it’s really up to you. We can go into town, or hit the beach. Or, just hang out here - what do you think, birthday girl?”
You rolled your eyes.
“It’s not my birthday yet -”
“As far as I’m concerned, this entire week is your birthday, baby.”
You felt your heart flutter, and bit your lip.
“Well, if I get to decide - beach?”
He grinned, reaching across to brush some hair out of your face.
“Sounds perfect, baby.”
******
Steve had presented you with a new bathing suit and beach cover-up, practically demanding to see you in it immediately. And, you rarely found it in yourself to say no to him. When he first saw you wearing it, you were genuinely concerned he was going to immediately ruin it by tearing it off of your body. But, he managed to control himself enough to make it out the door, his hand snaking around your waist as you headed down to the beach.
The closest beach to you, as it turned out, was only a short walk down the road. And, it was a pretty quiet one. Steve explained on the way how it was a lesser-known alcove, only really used by locals and not well-known amongst the tourists. Sure enough, the white sandy beach was relatively sheltered on all sides by the rocky cliffs, making you feel both so in-the-open and hidden.
You sighed as you settled onto the beach towel, soaking in the sun as Steve set up an umbrella, eventually finding his place beside you. The afternoon was relaxed and quiet, Steve allowing you space to read your book and sunbathe. You tried to think about the last time you let yourself relax like this - it was possible that you never had.
Eventually, the water just looked too inviting, the sun becoming just a bit too oppressively hot, and you found yourself wandering down to the shoreline. You let the water lap over your feet, the waves warmer than you expected. It was only after you had waded out up to your waist that you heard the water breaking behind you, a telltale sign that Steve was joining. Before you could turn to him, his arms were wrapped around your waist, making you jump and squeal.
“Steve!”
He spun you around in the water, making a big splash in your wake.
“Hey, beautiful,” he whispered. It was almost too affectionate, the way he said it, but you decided not to question it.
You just smiled, leaning in until his nose was brushing yours.
“Thank you, for this,” you murmured. “I know I’ve been saying it, but - I don’t think I’ve ever taken time to do anything like this, well… ever.”
His face softened a bit, and he brought his hand up to cup the side of your face.
“You’re welcome. Also, I’m sorry.”
“For what?”
A devilish grin, then, “For this.”
Then, he was pulling you into his arms and under the water with him, causing you to yelp with surprise as you became submerged. When you broke the surface, he was laughing like a little kid, earning a playful smack in the arm from you, followed by an indignant splash. And, for even just a few moments, it was easy to forget about everything, other than how much fun you were having.
Yes - this trip was exactly what you needed.
********
The next morning, you woke up slowly, blinking in the bright sunlight filtering into the bedroom. It took you a moment to remember where you were - then, the sandy-colored walls, the soft linen, and the lingering smell of salt water and sunscreen reminded you.
You rolled over in bed, reaching across to find it disappointingly empty. You groaned, sitting up and rubbing the bleariness from your eyes. After scrounging around under the sheets, you eventually unearthed a t-shirt, the one you had pulled off of Steve last night. Shrugging it on, you padded through the house towards the back balcony, where the sounds of the outdoors filtered through the open door. Surely enough, there he was, his back to you as he set plates on the table. You wish you had a camera to capture it - the vision of Steve, shirtless with his disheveled morning hair, the sea sparkling behind him in the early sunlight. But, before you could appreciate it anymore, he seemingly sensed your presence and turned.
“Look who's finally risen!” he declared. “I was worried I’d have to wake you up before the food got cold!”
You raised an eyebrow.
“Got cold?”
“Yeah - I made a veggie frittata, I hope that’s alright. I got some pastries too, and fruit. The coffee’s almost done.”
“I - you cook?”
He stopped, crossing his arms.
“What, did you think I couldn’t?”
You shrugged, throwing up your hands in defense.
“No! I just - I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen you cook before.”
You walked towards the table, accepting the chair he pulled out for you as you sank down and settled.
“When did you get all this stuff?” you asked, taking in the spread before you somewhat in awe.
“Oh, um, this morning - I went for a run, and stopped at the market on my way back. Town’s not far.”
You couldn’t even fight how impressed you were, shaking your head in disbelief.
“How long have you been up?”
“A few hours,” he said, shrugging. He cut into the frittata and started loading it onto one of the porcelain plates, passing it to you before sitting down. “I’m usually up pretty early, you know that. I wanted you to sleep in though, glad to know I didn’t wake you.”
“Right. Well, thanks.”
It almost felt like too much, him going to all these lengths for you. Yes, buying you a meal was one thing - he did it all the time. But cooking for you, and with such care… it felt like a different thing entirely. But, you accepted it gratefully, not even realizing just how hungry you were until you started digging in.
You could get used to mornings like this - breakfast on the beach view balcony, fresh coffee and breakfast, Steve’s knee brushing yours under the table. After a while, Steve leaned back and smiled, taking a sip out of his cup of coffee.
“So - are you feeling up for an adventure?” he asked, sounding slightly mischievous.
You raised an eyebrow, taking a bite out of a strawberry.
“What kind of adventure?”
“The kind you need a bathing suit for,” he said. “Preferably a bikini, but that’s really just for my benefit.”
You laughed. “Is that so?”
That was how you found yourself pulling on a bathing suit, pulled out of your bag along with a cover up and sun hat. Steve was already waiting for you when you emerged, a cooler bag slung over his shoulder, holding your beach bag out to you. You were finally starting to learn to relax, not even asking what he was planning - if it kept going the way this trip already had been, you knew he had a good surprise in store.
He took your arm in his, leading you out of the villa and to the car, tearing down the small dirt road until it became a larger, cobblestone one, descending down the hills into the main little town. The day was warm and bright, prompting Steve to lower the roof of the convertible. You let your eyes close, leaning back against the seat to feel the sun and breeze. You barely even noticed when Steve’s hand came to rest on your thigh.
You didn’t really open your eyes until the car slowed to a stop, realizing where you were. It was the pier, with boats of all different sizes and grandeur bobbing in the water. There was a bit of a hustle and bustle, with people loading and unloading, motors starting, dockhands untying boats and sending people off. You looked over at Steve quizzically, only to be met with a smile.
“You ready?”
“Are we -”
“Taking a boat out? Yes, yes we are,” he said, killing the ignition and hopping out of the car. He came around the other side to open the door and let you out before you had a chance to do it yourself. You had to fight the urge to roll your eyes as he took your hand, deciding to indulge him.
He led you to the dock, and you couldn’t help but start eyeing the prospective boats waiting for you. Eventually, you stopped at a small motorboat, docked and ready to go.
“We - you’re driving?”
Steve nodded, throwing the bags onto the boat and hopping on.
“Yes - I’ve got a boating license.”
“Since when?”
“Since my dad made me get one when I was 16.”
Somehow, Steve Harrington remained an enigma - what else didn’t you know about him?
He turned, offering his hand up to you to help you on board.
“Do you trust me?”
You nodded, not even hesitating.
“Yes.”
“Good - then come on, I promise it’ll be fun.”
It was so easy to believe Steve, to trust him - when did that happen?
After passing some cash to the dockhand, the boat was untied and sent out, Steve manning the wheel as he headed out into the harbor. You leaned back in the leather seat behind him, holding onto your hat as the boat picked up speed. The waters gradually became less busy, the expanse of blue before you growing greater as you headed out to the sea.
“Where are we going?” you finally asked, practically yelling over the sound of the engine.
“A surprise,” he said.
“Of course.”
This earned a chuckle from him, followed by a gesture towards the cooler pack.
“By the way - I packed some drinks, if you want them. And food, too, but that’s for later.”
You grinned, unzipping it and pulling out a bottle of rose, still cold and wet with condensation. You poured it into a plastic cup that you found in the bag, smiling endearingly at the thought of Steve doing all of this - shopping, planning, packing, doing everything with you in mind. You sighed, sipping your wine as the boat cut through the waves, the breeze blowing through your hair. Finally, you reached what you presumed was your destination: a smaller island came into view, surrounded by big rocky outcroppings sticking out of the water. You couldn’t even see any other boats docked around it.
“Where are we?” you asked, standing as the boat slowed to a stop. Steve threw the anchor down, with more ease than you expected.
“It’s called Sand City,” he said, propping a leg up on the boat’s edge as he tied the knot. “Well, that’s what locals call it - I’m not sure what it’s actually called. But, barely anyone knows about it - if I had to guess, we’re probably the only ones here.”
You glanced over at the rocky beach - from what you could see, there wasn’t another soul.
“Knowing you, you probably rented out the place,” you joked.
Steve chuckled. “I mean, if I could, I definitely would’ve.”
You laughed, but when he didn’t, you stopped.
“Wait, you’re serious?”
“Completely.”
You came up next to him, glancing over the side of the boat - the water was crystal clear, the current gentle and calm.
“So, how do we get out there?” you asked.
Steve grinned, pulling his shirt up over his head in one movement.
“We swim.”
You couldn’t help but smile as you dove in after him, the water a relaxing relief from the sun. The pair of you made your way to the shore rather quickly, pulling yourselves out of the water and onto the beach. Here, there wasn;t much of the soft white sand that you had seen on the main island. Instead, the coast was rocky, Steve taking your hand as he helped you weave through to spare your bare feet from the brunt of it.
“You know, for a place called ‘Sand City’ - there’s not a lot of sand,” you observed, following Steve up the beach.
“There’s a reason for that,” Steve said, leading you further up the beach. “See, like a hundred years ago, this place was used for sand mining - and it was a major port. But, they drained the resources, and couldn’t develop anything. See?”
He gestured further down the shoreline. Sure enough, in the distance there were larger wooden posts sticking out of the water, worn and dull with time.
“Those used to be the dock, before it collapsed. But, since there’s a steep dropoff after the sandbar, people like to dock their boats and make day trips out here. Like us, for example,” Steve explained.
“How do you know all this?” you asked, tone laced with surprise.
“I did some research,” he said, shrugging.
“Why?”
“Honestly? I wanted to impress you,” he admitted somewhat sheepishly.
You laughed, louder than you meant to.
“What?” he asked indignantly, stopping in his tracks.
“Nothing! It’s just kind of cute that you’re trying to impress me, I guess.”
“Shut up,” he muttered.
You stayed a few steps behind him, smiling to yourself. This was maybe the most relaxed you had ever seen Steve - he seemed younger, almost boyish. You wondered if this is what he was like, years before you met him. When he was your age, was he less hardened? Did he have less walls around him? You had to assume he did.
At one point, he leaned down to pick up a pebble, skipping it across the water.
“Nice, that skipped like, five times,” you remarked.
“You try,” he said, extending a flat pebble to you.
“I’m not any good at this,” you confessed.
“I’ll help you, here -”
He placed the stone gently in your palm, his hand engulfing yours.
“Just follow through like this, and kind of flick your wrist.”
You did your best to ignore how your skin tingled at his touch, following through on his guidance a few times before finally letting go. The stone skimmed the water’s surface, skipping once, before plopping in.
You threw your hands up in the air in celebration.
“Okay, I know that wasn’t much, but - better than anything I’ve done before!” you exclaimed, throwing your arms around Steve’s neck.
He pressed a kiss to your cheek, and you pulled away quickly. Before he could say anything, you gestured for him to keep leading the way.
******
The rest of the afternoon was a bit of a blur. Steve led you up the island to a thatch of trees, where you came across the old ruins of a submarine. You spent a while investigating it, grabbing a fresh peach hanging off of the trees. You and Steve shared it, eventually returning to the water and swimming out to one of the rocks past the sandbar. You let yourself lay out and sunbathe, Steve by your side. Eventually, though, the one peach you had split didn’t seem to tide you over, your stomach grumbling. You groaned.
“Don’t worry, we’ve got a picnic on the boat,” Steve assured. “Want to head back?”
You agreed, welcoming the cool water as you dove back in, clambering back up onto the motorboat. Steve produced a true spread from the cooler, of crackers, cheeses, and grapes, topped off with a bottle of white wine to split. It was so idyllic, floating in the middle of the ocean, with the fresh charcuterie that Steve had so carefully packed for you. After you were full and satiated, you couldn’t help it - you had to start touching Steve. You found it hard to keep your hands off of him, tracing his constellation of moles on his back beneath the sun, both of you laying across a towel. You began to trace letters and words, asking him to guess - Steve’s name, your own, smiley faces and stars, anything you could think of. Steve, as it turned out, was shit when it came to guessing.
You found yourself feeling just a bit mischievous, deciding to press your lips between his shoulder blades instead.
“What’re you doing?” he asked, voice a bit rougher than it had been.
“What’s the chance of another boat passing us here?” you asked.
“Uh - minimal. Really slim, we’re pretty isolated,” he answered quickly.
“Good,” you whispered. “Because I wanna ride you, if you’ll let me.”
And he did, scrambling onto his back, gripping onto your hips as you straddled him. Your bathing suits were shed in a matter of moments, and you wasted no time in sinking onto him. The boat rocked precariously, but it was part of the thrill - Steve came undone in a matter of minutes, cumming deep inside of you. You followed shortly after, convulsing around him with your head thrown back, underneath the bright afternoon sun.
*******
The next few days passed in a blissful blur - Steve took you all around the island. One day, he rented a Vespa, having you wrap your arms around his waist and hold on tightly as he drove you around to the other side, where a music and art festival was happening. He followed you around, dancing with you and buying you whatever you wanted from the vendors, insisting that you picked out whatever you wanted. Used books, fresh pastries, a sunhat, handmade mosaics, seashell earrings - whatever caught your interest.
One of the items you picked up was a pack of disposable waterproof cameras, which you immediately made quick use of. You began snapping photos of the town, the ocean views, and most of all, Steve. You caught candids of Steve walking down the street, running his hands through his hair, or his side profile, when he wasn’t paying attention. You got him to pose on occasion too, insisting on taking pictures at each new site you visited. Soon, Steve took one of the cameras, playing your own game and sneaking photos of you throughout the trip.
“Pose for me, baby, for the memories,” he insisted, pulling back to capture you every chance he got.
You and Steve made use of the villa, too. On the third day, you woke up to the sound of rain pattering on the roof. Steve bemoaned the inclement weather, but you just snuggled further under the covers.
“What are we going to do, then?” Steve grumbled.
“We can just stay here… in bed… all day,” you replied, pressing a kiss to his neck.
“Oh yeah?”
“Mmm hm - actually, today’s a perfect day to practice your Italian,” you added, smirking.
“What do you -”
“Here’s the deal,” you said, sinking a bit further below the covers. “I’m going to quiz you on what I’ve taught you so far - if you get it right, I keep sucking you off. You get it wrong, though… I stop, until the next one you get right. What do you say?”
You spent that morning edging Steve, who quickly became a whimpering mess at your mercy. His language retention, it turned out, wasn’t great. Every time he screwed up an Italian word or phrase, you pulled your lips off his cock, looking up at him with disappointment.
When he finally did cum, he begged to do it all over your tits, which you obliged. That, of course, led to a bath in the clawfoot tub, where Steve happily joined you, insisting on reciprocating. The rainy day, as it turned out, wasn’t a waste at all.
Another day, he took you out on a small ferry cruise to go snorkeling. You both dove through the shallows, exploring coral reefs and swimming through schools of fish. You were fairly certain that you’d never get over the color of the sea here - the bright, aquamarine water was stunning, and you were certain that if it was flatter underneath, you’d be able to see through the ocean for miles. You snapped a few photos underwater, hoping that they’d reflect what it looked like in-person. You doubted it, though. At one point, when you both broke the surface and climbed back onto the rowboat you had taken out, Steve was holding a lump of sand in his hand.
“What is that?”
He smiled, shaking it off under the water to reveal what looked like a gray rock. You furrowed your brow, confusion only growing and Steve produced a pocket knife. He cut into it along the edge - it was an oyster.
“In the mood for shellfish, Harrington?”
He just shook his head, prying the shell open. He squinted, then smiled.
“Well, looks like I’ve got some pretty good luck today!”
Before you could ask what he meant, he reached into the shell and pulled out -
“Is that a pearl?” you asked, eyes widening.
He nodded enthusiastically, holding it out to you.
“For you.”
You shook your head.
“No, Steve - do you know how rare that is? Just to find a natural pearl? I shouldn’t -”
“I was hoping to find one, just for you,” he assured. “Seriously - I want you to have it.”
You took it hesitantly, turning the small white stone in your hand. It was so small, perfectly round, with a few grains of sand still clinging to it. You shook your head incredulously.
“I - thank you,” you whispered. You fished your wallet out of your beach bag, tucking the pearl safely inside.
******
The evenings were filled with sunsets and wine, Steve insisting on bringing you to the best restaurants that the island had to offer. When you returned to the villa, you would take a dip in the pool - bathing suits optional. That’s why, by the time your actual birthday came around, it wasn’t a surprise that you were physically exhausted.
The morning of your birthday came on a Saturday, the last full day of your trip. You had attempted to stay up until midnight on Friday to properly ring it in, but you were so exhausted from the sun and copious amounts of wine consumed during the day that you were asleep before 11.
That night, you dreamed. Often, your dreams weren’t very vivid. If you remembered them at all when you woke up, there wasn’t really anything concrete. And, you supposed, this wasn’t really any different. You felt warm, only really seeing flashes of golden light, dancing behind your eyelids like stars. Your skin tingled, and you were just relaxed. You sighed in contentment, suddenly feeling your brow furrow at the realization that you could feel the mattress you were lying on, the soft sheets fisted in your fingers.
You weren’t sleeping anymore, not completely. You weren’t exactly sure when you had stopped, crossing the line between dreaming and consciousness. But suddenly, you were acutely aware of the air on your skin, the quickening of your breath, and, most notably, the feeling of warm lips pressed to your skin.
“Mm - Steve?” you grumbled, voice still groggy from sleep.
“G’morning, birthday girl,” he murmured from below the sheets, pressing a kiss to your navel.
“What’re you -”
“I wanted to make today extra special,” he whispered. “Starting right now.”
He continued to pepper kisses across your abdomen, traveling further down, down, down -
“Fuck,” you gasped as his breath ghosted over your bare cunt. “Steve -”
“Shhh, baby,” he whispered. “Today’s all about you - just relax, okay?”
Anything else that you wanted to say died on your tongue, your breath hitching as soon as his mouth made contact with your core. He licked a stripe up your slit, his tongue settling to swirl around your clit.
“Steve! Oh, shit - just like that. Oh my god -”
You felt your back arch as your hips bucked up to meet his mouth. His fingers were digging into the soft flesh of your thighs, spread wide for him as he devoured you.
Soon, one of his hands wandered from your thigh, gathering your slick as he circled your entrance.
You moaned, eyes squeezed shut as you threw your head back.
“Please, Steve,” you whined. He paused for a moment.
“Please what?” he asked, pressing a kiss to the inside of your thigh. He started sucking, and you already shivered at the thought of him leaving a mark there, a reminder for later.
“Please - your fingers,” you begged.
“What about them?” he asked, feigning innocence.
“Inside me - please - fuck me with your fingers,” you exclaimed.
“If you insist, darling.”
That was your only warning. He plunged two fingers into your sopping entrance, returning his tongue to your clit. You practically screamed, writhing in the sheets as he loved on you in the best way he knew how.
He kissed and licked at your cunt like he was worshiping it. He grinned against your skin at the sound of your whines when he added a third finger, pumping in and out of you at an unrelenting pace.
You found your own hands wandering, looking to grab onto something, anything. Between his ministrations, you heard Steve murmur, “Your tits, baby.”
“What?”
“Touch your tits, sweetheart, you know you want to.”
You didn’t even question it, obeying as your hands found their way to your breasts. You cupped and palmed them, moaning at the added stimulation as Steve continued to eat you out.
“I’m close,” you breathed, feeling your face flush, your heart thudding in your chest. There was pressure building in your core, ready to snap at any moment. You continued feeling your tits, toying with your nipples and squeezing at the soft flesh.
Your orgasm felt like a dam breaking. You screamed Steve’s name as the pleasure washed over you, intense and white-hot like a tsunami. He worked you through your high, continuing to lap and lick at you, gradually slowing down as your whole body shook. By the time he removed his fingers from you, you were a mess. You felt boneless, certain you’d sink all the way through the mattress if you weren’t careful.
Your breathing was deep and labored, not even capable of forming a coherent thought as Steve pressed soft kisses to your inner thigh. Just as he had started, he kissed his way back up your body - your stomach, your breasts, sternum, collarbone, neck - and, finally, your lips. You still faintly tasted yourself on him, and sighed into his mouth.
After several moments, you finally spoke.
“Jesus Christ, Steve.”
“So, that was good?” he asked.
You turned your cheek down to your pillow, bringing you face-to-face with the man lying next to you.
“Yeah,” you breathed. “I - I think that was the hardest I’ve ever cum in my life,” you admitted.
Steve practically puffed up with pride, fighting a smile.
“Is that so?”
You reached across the bed, running your fingers through his hair.
“Yeah, really. Best birthday ever.”
He rolled his eyes. “It’s barely started yet!”
“Still - that would’ve made it just perfect, no need to do anything else.”
He laughed, throwing his head back against the pillow.
“Well, that’s definitely not all I have planned. We’ve got a whole day ahead of us.”
You sighed, shaking your head.
“Of course we do. Well, if that’s the case, I’m going to take a shower.”
You rolled out of bed and padded towards the bathroom, not even bothering with the fact that you were stark nude. You felt Steve’s eyes practically burning a hole through you, prompting you to cast a glance over your shoulder.
“I might need help, you know,” you said suggestively.
He didn’t need to be told twice.
********
Most of the day passed without a hitch. In fact, you would call it perfect. Almost, at least. You had breakfast on the balcony, the morning relatively slow and relaxed. Then, Steve took you to the sea, renting another boat until you reached what you learned to be Aragonese Castle. The ruins sat on a volcanic rock formation, accessible via a footbridge going across the water. On the island, you explored the castle, marveling at the sight from the top. You stood atop the structure, something older than you could even comprehend, staring out across the sparkling sea. Steve took your camera, snapping a few photos of you before you noticed.
“Come on, birthday girl, pose for me,” he begged with his go-to line, smiling as you grinned and threw your hands up in the air for the camera.
After, you took the boat around the coast to another smaller island, making your way up to the little village there. Steve made good on his word, and as you wandered through the market, did his best to name all the items in Italian. Every time he got something right, you kissed him. For everything he got wrong, he had to buy you something from that vendor. In the end, it was working out much better for you, your bag filling more and more as you walked through.
You both walked along the beach, finding yourselves carrying your shoes as you let the water wash over your feet on the shoreline. The afternoon waned to the early evening, the sun moving from beating on your backs to golden, slowly sinking towards the horizon. You had returned to the main island, Steve insisting on returning home briefly to change out of beach clothes. You followed his lead, trusting whatever he had planned. As you were throwing on some makeup, you barely noticed him come into the bathroom behind you, too focused on yourself in the mirror.
“So,” he started, leaning against the doorframe. “I know we haven’t exactly had an occasion for something like this yet, but I had this made for you - I was kind of hoping you’d wear it tonight.”
He held up a clothing hanger, shrouded in a garment bag. You smiled at him through the mirror, bounding over excitedly to unzip and look at what was inside.
“I - wow.”
“Put it on for me?” he asked. “It’s part of your birthday present.”
You obliged, kicking him out of the room, insisting that you wanted him to be surprised. You slipped on the dress easily, your breath catching in your throat as soon as you saw yourself in the mirror.
It was a vibrant, deep red, made of some kind of shimmering silk. Somehow, it both flowed over you and hugged you in all the right places - more than anything else Steve had gotten made for you, this had to have been done with you in mind. Somehow, you were certain it was the best you had ever looked. Valentina had outdone herself.
You opened the door slowly, mainly for dramatic effect. Steve was sitting on the edge of the bed, dressed in a suit jacket over his button-down, the first few buttons notably undone. At the sight of you, he sat up quickly. His eyes widened, looking you up and down as he scrambled to his feet.
“Well, what do you think?” you asked.
It took Steve a moment to say anything, his mouth opening and closing a few times as he searched for words. Then, softly:
“You’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
You felt your face heat, the blood rushing to your head creating a dull roar in your ears.
“You’re a liar,” you insisted.
“With you? Never.”
“Well, just one thing,” you said, coming closer to him before turning around. “I need help zipping it up.”
You felt Steve’s hands at the small of your back, pulling the zipper up slowly. His fingers brushed your exposed skin on the way up. And, when he finally reached the top, he pressed a soft kiss to your shoulder.
“I have something else for you,” he whispered in your ear. Before you could ask, you felt something cold around your neck, a weight resting against your sternum. Your hand came up to touch it - a necklace. A ruby pendant to match the dress, the chain lined delicately with diamonds.
“Steve-” you said, turning to face him.
“Don’t say anything,” he said, beating you to what you were about to say.
“But - you’ve already put together this whole trip… I can’t -”
“You only turn 21 once,” he said. “It’s a big deal, you know.”
“Maybe in the States - not really so much here -”
“I guess that’s why I wanted to make it special, just for you,” he whispered. “Will you let me?”
His eyes were so soft, begging you to just say yes, and your chest suddenly felt warm.
“Thank you,” you finally said. “Really.”
Then, he was kissing you. It wasn’t hungry, or heated, or demanding. It was soft and slow. When he pulled away, hand cupping your jaw, it felt like you should say something else - but what? Before you could decide what it should be, he was holding out an arm to you. You hooked yours through it, letting him lead the way.
Sunset hadn’t happened yet, but it was probably soon - the sky was bathed in the deep golden of the sun, the day aging and giving way to the evening soon enough. You took the Ferrari, the top down as Steve drove down the hill and into town.
The place Steve had reserved for dinner was tucked into the mountain, made of old stone and terraced into the Earth. You were on the rooftop, your table set out so that you had a view of the city below, and the sea beyond. The sky was turning shades of orange and pink, promising a stunning sunset.
“Steve,” you started once you were settled into your chair, “this place - it’s stunning.”
You couldn’t even hide your awe, realizing for maybe the hundredth time that week just how lucky you were.
“Just wait until sunset,” he said. “This is the most in-demand restaurant on the island.”
“And you got a reservation?” you asked, perusing the wine menu.
“I pulled some strings.”
“Naturally.”
You brought your feet to rest on top of his under the table.
After ordering a bottle of wine, Steve reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out his tobacco and rolling papers.
“Hope you don’t mind,” he said.
“As long as you share,” you replied, grinning as he started rolling a second cigarette.
As you lit yours up and took a deep inhale, you allowed a moment to fully take in the sight of Steve.
The last week had changed him. You thought about him, and how he had said that this was the first time he had taken a vacation from work. His skin was tanned, his hair a bit lighter from the time in the sun. It had grown a bit longer, too, since you’d first met him.
As he breathed out smoke, donning sunglasses and bathed in the golden light of dusk, you felt your chest ache. For better or for worse, Steve Harrington has changed your life.
After enjoying a decadent meal of seafood, flatbreads, and pasta, all shared with Steve, it was properly dark out. The only light came from the strong lights hanging around the patio, and the candlelight on the table. You were a bit tipsy from the shared bottle of wine, feeling warm and hazy. It was during dessert, as you were sipping a cappuccino and tasting your tiramisu, that Steve cleared his throat.
“So, I have one more present for you,” he announced, straightening up in his chair.
“Steve - no.”
“But -”
“You’ve already gotten me the dress, the necklace, this entire trip. And, well… everything else.”
The arrangement, which you two barely spoke of anymore. At least, not directly. He just sighed, pulling an envelope out of his pocket and sliding it across the table to you.
“It’s the last thing, I promise - please?”
You stared at him for a moment before finally conceding. Grabbing the envelope, you tore it open, pulling out the piece of paper inside. You stared at it for a moment, squinting in the dim candlelight. It was a map - a map of the night sky. You vaguely recognized it, thanks to the astronomy class you had to take during your first year of school.
“It’s - the sky?”
“Well, it’s a certificate, for proof.”
“Proof of what?”
He pointed to the text at the top. You read it once. Twice. Five times. You felt your eyes widen, your mouth hanging open.
“Did you - did you name a star after me?”
Steve nodded slowly, assessing your reaction.
“Yes. Well, specifically - it’s kind of stupid, but… it’s a star that’s over Rome in late May, right around when we met. I don’t know, I just thought - it was just an idea.”
When your eyes met his again, he was asking a silent question - expectant, nervous, his gaze asking, do you like it?
It was then that it hit you. It was like a train, knocking the breath out of you. And, without thinking, you said it:
“I’m in love with you.”
As soon as it tumbled out, you swore your heart stopped. Everything was spinning, and you were certain you were going to be sick. But, after an agonizing moment, Steve just raised an eyebrow.
“So, am I supposed to know what that one means?”
“I - what?”
“Are you quizzing me again?”
A wave of relief washed over you - you had said it in Italian. What Steve had heard was sono innamorato di te. You let out a deep breath, laughing nervously.
“Oh - yes. Yeah!”
“Okay - what does it mean?”
“Just, um - it means I love it. The gift, I mean. It… it was really thoughtful.”
He breathed a sigh of relief, visibly relaxing in his chair.
“Oh, good. I’m glad. I wasn’t sure what you’d think, to be honest.”
You stared down at the paper, avoiding his eyes. You did your best to just focus on the page, hoping he couldn’t tell that your hands were shaking.
“No - it’s great. Thank you, really.”
You forced a smile, meeting his eyes again. Then, you stood up suddenly, your chair sliding out behind you. Concern flickered across his face.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
“Me? Yeah, I just - I need to use the ladies’ room,” you mumbled. You took a step towards him, placing a quick kiss on his cheek before heading downstairs to the lower part of the restaurant.
As soon as you were locked in the bathroom, you braced yourself on the sink. You did your best to steady your breathing, gripping to porcelain for dear life. That was a close call - too close. You immediately started chastising yourself - you were an idiot, a fool. Your one job was to not fall for him. It was the most important part of the agreement. Wasn’t the whole point of this to avoid complications, and heartbreak?
You took a deep breath, assessing the facts:
You loved Steve Harrington.
You weren’t supposed to love Steve Harrington.
Now, every time you were with him, you’d be lying to his face
In a month, he’d be out of your life.
You felt nauseous, the room starting to spin. This couldn’t be happening. But, it was. You stared at yourself in the mirror - your eyes were glassy, threatening to break into full-on tears at any moment. No, you couldn’t do that - you weren’t going to ruin this perfect day, perfect week. This was so you, to ruin everything for yourself at the last minute. You gathered yourself, fighting the urge to cry. You were going to make this work - you had to. Steve never had to know how you were feeling, how much you had fucked this whole thing up. So, you straightened yourself up, doing your best to regain composure, and headed back upstairs to the table.
Steve visibly relaxed when he saw you approaching.
“Everything okay?” he asked as you slid into your chair.
“Oh - yeah. All good, it’s just - I’m stuffed!” you declared, laughing half-heartedly. “Seriously, this was delicious, but - I can’t eat or drink anything else.”
Steve nodded. “Oh, no problem - I can get the check.”
“Yeah, okay.”
You had to seem normal - to make yourself feel normal. Nothing had to change between you two, as far as you were concerned.
So, you let Steve take you home, your hand on his leg making him drive the car borderline recklessly. You both stumbled through the door of the villa, shedding one another of your clothes like your lives depended on it.
Maybe you were reading too much into it, or maybe something truly had shifted. More likely, the reality was somewhere in the middle. But, the sex wasn’t desperate, or urgent. You took your time with one another, exploring each other’s bodies like it was the last time you’d ever do so. Steve held you close, kissing every inch of you, his lips whispering prayers and sweet nothings into your skin.
You gave it all back to him, thanking him for everything he’s done for you with filthy words whispered in his ear, telling him how good he was making you feel.
He sucked bruises into your skin, and you left scratches down his back. When you came, it was together, the pleasure peaking and flowing through both of you in unison. After, he laid on top of you, your fingers running gently through his hair as you stared at the ceiling. You just let yourself bathe in the afterglow, hanging on to Steve like he’d disappear if you didn’t.
It was later, after your head had settled onto his chest with his arms wrapped around you, that he finally spoke.
“So - did you have a good birthday?”
“Mm,” you hummed blissfully. His heartbeat thudded steadily against your ear, grounding you.
“Best birthday I ever had,” you added.
“Really?”
“Yes,” you affirmed. “You - you made me feel special. I don’t think anyone’s bothered to do that before, not like this.”
A pause.
“I’m sorry to hear that,” Steve said solemnly. “You deserve better.”
You shook your head, burying your face further into his chest.
“You’ve made up for that,” you assured him. “Trust me.”
His hand rubbed soothing circles on your back.
“Good,” he said. “I mean, we’re doing round two next weekend, with Robin’s not-surprise party.”
You groaned.
“I forgot about that.”
“It’s only because she loves you, you know.”
You swore your heart skipped a beat at the word. You immediately felt stupid for even letting that happen, as if it was voluntary.
“Yeah, she does,” you conceded.
“I don’t want this trip to end,” Steve admitted. His voice was lower, words slurring a bit. You realized that his breathing had slowed down considerably - he was drifting.
“Me neither,” you admitted. “Let’s just stay forever.”
It sounded like a joke, earning a low chuckle from him. It didn’t feel like one, though.
“Whatever you want,” he murmured.
After a few moments, Steve went completely silent. His heartbeat was slower, and you sighed, rolling over to stare at the ceiling.
Without him to distract you, your mind started racing. The anxiety was gone - no, the feeling now was pure and utter dread. But, the most horrible part was when you glanced over at the man beside you - all you felt was butterflies, churning in your stomach like some sweet sickness.
You stared at Steve for a while - the rise and fall of his chest, his disheveled hair, the way the moonlight cast over his form, highlighting his silhouette.
“Hey, Steve? You awake?” you whispered through the darkness. No response.
You brought yourself up onto your elbow, leaning in just a bit closer. You’d never be able to tell him to his face, but this was the closest you’d get - maybe you just needed to get it out of your system. At least, that was what you told yourself.
“I love you, Steve,” you whispered. No response.
You promptly turned over under the covers, burying your face in the pillow. And, finally, the tears came. Fast and hot, they leaked onto the pillow, marking it like acid as you did your best to sob silently.
You were fucked. Completely and utterly ruined. For the first time in ages, you cried yourself to sleep. Before you finally drifted off, one question was on your mind:
What were you going to do when Steve left for good?
author's note: hi everyone! Thanks for your patience for this update! Work has been kicking my ass, and it's been harder to make time to write. Before anyone says anything, no, I don't speak Italian, nor have I been to Italy. I did my best, but some details were fabricated for the story, so if it's not accurate - oh well! Thanks to everyone for all the kind messages, and to my bestie Em for the endless inspiration. Likes, reblogs, and comments are always appreciated!

If Jikook survive military confinement together and come out stronger (THEY WILL) they'll be able to survive anything & face anything together. I know some were worried about them fighting esp since we saw it a pretty good bit on the show, but we see how they quickly resolve they issue & there is no lingering annoyance with them after. They said they weren't worried about fighting & instead would rely on each other. Jk saying just having you near me & quickly threw in bald head to neutralize & make it more bro/platonic sounding lol. They did their research. They knew what they were signing up for and knew it would put their friendship/relationship to the test being in a high stressful homophobic situation. And still took the risk, cause being without each other was not an option. I am just in awe of them. They left everyone, but they couldn't leave each other. Do you understand how huge this leap was they took together, dating or not? And you have some people in this fandom brushing it off, cause in this fandom its about ships. Not music, not friendships, not the members as a group, but "SHIPS & FANTASIES" and the bigger the ship built from nothing is, it means everyone else is torn apart & mass hated on. Sad all around, but at least we know Jikook does not care.
I agree on the research bit
Did their due diligence and when we say a lot of thought and planning went into this decision people roll their eyes.
why Jin would tell Jungkook the best of friends fight in such situations- what would they fight about? It's military camp not a staycation. What did he see while he was in there and why did Jungkook feel a need to have this conversation with Jin in the first place???
I kick the air each time I think about that Jungkook was concerned for his relationship with Jimin🤭🤭🤭
I can imagine him being worried if MS will have a toll on their relationship and Jimin jumping in to assert his confidence in them was hot af my Jikook heart leaped a little 🤭
And why say that to people who are just friends??
Because it sounded to me like something someone would say about marriage to two people who were going to get married
Aaahh Jungkook the tea you brought that day😩
I need to open a thread on this so I can pin it later hold on

Genre: smut, slight crack
Word count: 3.7

You have as much casual sex as the next person and never consider it a problem in how you lived your life. Not until recently anyway.
Turns out your hook-up from January 20th was not only friends with the one from January 23rd, but they’re roommates. But not just roommates, no, they’re your new roommates.
You remember sitting there surprised meeting them at their apartment. Their familiar attractive faces stare back at you like both had just seen a ghost, but invite you in for the roommate interview anyway. You keep your composure, ignoring the fact you’ve seen look how their naked bodies and dicks looked before you’ve ever stepped foot in their residence, and answer relevant questions as promptly as possible. Playing up as a good roommate was always the plan, but now you just had to do without thinking about–wait no. Place and time.
January 23rd, you remember his name now is Chan, excuses himself to the restroom leaving you with January 20, Soonyoung. There’s a moment of silence before you exchange awkward smiles, tension stilling the room until breathing doesn’t even get to be an option. Most of the topics have been covered and seems you’ve done it well enough, but the thought weighs on your mind whether that mattered given your history.
You break down the facade, facing him with an earnest expression. “Look if this is gonna be weird—“
“We both think you’re the best candidate out of the applicants we have.”
You blink back at him, the wind knocked out of your lungs. “Really?”
He has a genuine smile on his face, nodding back at you with almost a look of gratitude. He noticeably leans over more comfortably, a weight lifted off his shoulders. “Yeah, I get we’ve hooked up, but he doesn't have to know, and we really, really need to stay on this lease. Rental is absolutely brutal right now, please. We can just live together like nothing happened.”
You’re not sure how you got this lucky, but something in you told you to hold back from revealing you slept with Chan too, so you kept that to yourself. Instead, you quickly made arrangements with him there and set sound ground rules on the contract. You seal the process with a few initials, a few signatures, and finally a handshake. His hand was flushed, firm, and reliable, shocking you with a flash memory of the night you met Soonyoung, and pull away the second it feel like you lingered too long.
“Thanks, Soonyoung.”
He puts the hand he shook with in his pocket, smiling in a friendly manner before pulling Chan towards the center of the room after the younger man had finished up whatever he needed in the restroom. “Chan can explain some things to you while you’re still here. I’d help but I was already cutting close with another appointment I have. See you tomorrow, roomie!”
Soonyoung could not get out of this place fast enough. Now you’re alone with yet another man you whom you’ve had a brief history with. Unlike Soonyoung, Chan doesn't showcase the same feelings already offering to show you around the amenities included as if he was a realtor you met the first time today. Maybe that’ll make things easier.
He tours you in the kitchen first, mentioning something about “plenty of pantry space” because they “mostly eat out anyway,” besides the weekly homemade dinners, which he mentions would be fun with an extra person to help again. You could only be so lucky not to be stuck with dealing with cooking all on your own.
Chan must’ve seen your burdened expression and he quickly comes to defense by saying they’d do the heavy lifting the first few dinners for whoever moves in. after that would be a more even distributed effort. You express your gratitude with a smile. “You guys sound really accommodating. That was one of the issues I had with my previous living arrangement and things like cleaning. They were so hard to get through.”
“Really? I wouldn’t have thought that since it was clean the last time I was there.”
You shoot your eyes open, rather flustered at how easily he brought it up while arousal churned your stomach at the memory. You cross your arms scoffing, attempting to play it off nonchalantly, “Well, no thanks to them. I’m good at keeping things tidy.”
“Makes you a pretty ideal person to live with then.”
“I hope so.” You shrug.
“So…you’re moving in?” There’s a hopeful gleam in his eyes as a smile turns up at a corner mischievously.
You nod. “Soonyoung convinced me.”
“Good. That’s great. You were our first choice.”
“So, you don’t think it’ll be weird with, you know?”
“As long as we keep it between us. I’m sure it’ll be fine. Plus, it’ll be nice to get to know you with clothes on.”
You best not let that last comment get to you. You ignore how it makes you feel in the pit of your stomach, how it felt like to have him stretch you open, and god, were you needing these days to be stretched open. You letting out an airy chuckle before ignoring the words with clenched legs as he’s showing you off the rest of the apartment. He mentions some things like the shower needs a few seconds to get hot, the balcony being teh best place to get a breather, and the last roommate had something going on before deciding to leave, soon concluding your tour.
He walks you towards the entry way, leaving between you a healthy distance. The ceiling lamp aboves you flickers, cascading the side of his faces with shadows ever so aethetically. He is picture perfect and it makes you want to capture his face and hang it up on a wall for all of eternity. “I guess, I’ll see you tomorrow right?”
“Yeah, be by with some of my stuff.”
“Alright, let me have your phone.” You give it to him, briefly brushing against his hand, and he starts typing in his number before a text tone went off in his pocket and handing you back your phone. “Text me when you come by, and I’ll help you bring your stuff in.”
“I appreciate that.”
“I appreciate you being so prompt with a response.”
There’s that devastatingly charming smile that lured you into bed months ago. He steps forward cautiously as if accessing the situation. Your breath hitches the closer he closes in and you take notice of how his eyes roam over your body, mentally undressing you.
“Maybe after I help with you other things as well,” he implies suggestively.
“Maybe,” you entertain, despite your better judgment of knowing how bad of an idea it’d be.
And in the nick of time, Soonyoung is home, opening the door, forcing you to leave and come back the next day with heavy thoughts in your mind.
The weeks go on more unorthodox than you predicted. While settling in, you indulge in a bit of roommate bonding: group dinners, laughing at Soonyoung’s outbursts, listening to Chan ramble about random topics before he loses his train of thought, and all while avoiding sexually charged situations. Most of those objectives go smoothly, with the exception of the last bit, making you teh text-book definition of blue-balled.
Most of those cases involved mainly Chan, who somehow knew how to turn any situation alone into moments of temptation. He exhibited several light touches, intimate whispers, and purposeful body contact (exhibit a: feeling how his obvious bulge digs into your back as he reaches for something on the top shelf). You know it’s all on purpose and yet there isn’t an atom in your very being to get you to stop it.
Other cases were Soonyoung, who does them seemingly unintentionally, getting himself into blush-inducing situations that could only get him in more trouble than prepared for. This included the classic “doing laundry with you and tripping, toppling on top of each other over folding fitted sheets”. The innocent glint in his eyes shifts completely, warranting a momentary look of visceral lustn, until he’s rolling away like a loose hot dog before he rejects succumbing to such thoughts.
So far, things have yet to escalate despite the incidents, that is until Chan mixed up Soonyoung’s work schedule.
“Hey, any problem with me coming in?”
 “Oh, no. By all means.”
You hold your legs to your knees underneath your blanket and set your book aside near your lamp light. Chan smiles at your inviting demeanor as his weight dips into the bed near your feet. Deceiving you with innocuous warmth in his eyes.“Hope I’m not interrupting anything.”
“Nothing important. What’s up?”
“Just wondering how you like it so far. Hopefully, we’ve made you feel welcome. At least in my case.”
“I think both of you have done a good job of doing that.”
“That’s good to hear, but you know,” he scoots closer, “you can tell us–me–anything. We’re accommodating remember?”
His body reels in your direction, radiating a radioactive heat.
You swallow a moan about to errupt. “Of course.”
“Then tell me, what’s getting you all worked up right now?”
You blink at him, lightly scoffing at such an assumption. “What? Nothing. What makes you think that?”
His grin. His cocky, condescending grin. Goodness, gracious. “The tremble in your voice, like you were caught doing something you shouldn’t have.”
“You saw me, Chan. I was reading.”
You immediately try to hide the book he reaches out for, only to have it pried from your grasp. “Twisted games? Wonder what kind of games those are.”
You snatch away before he can look over at the synopsis, and one way or another, he buries his bare palms in the mattress on either side of you, locking you in his grasp. The air is charged in that familair way. Your eyes staring back at each other with shallow breaths, and lewd highs, before the collision of your lips. He climbs on top of you, legs cradling your sides as his fingers run through the back of your head.
His name comes on in soft, needy whispers, to which you feel the permanent cocky smile against your lips. “I bet you’ve been waiting for me to do that, huh?”
“Just shut up and kiss me again,” you answer impatiently before pulling right back where he needed to be.
Chan makes himself familiar on your body like he’s never left, moving one hand up your shirt and the other down your pants. His digits find precisely what he expects: your heat sopping between his pads, practically begging to be touched. “You’re soaked, princess.” He runs himself over your folds then through your slick slit, a thin film of aroused viscosity coating him. “Should Daddy make you feel good like last time again?”
That’s when the unexpected occurs: a knock at your bedroom door. “Hey, can we talk?”
Chan's eyes shoot open like saucers, no sign of his once cool demeanor. “Soonyoung,” he whispers aggressively, “I thought he was working!”
“It’s Wednesday!”
“Shit.”
“Covers now.”
He opens the flap of your blanket before crawling inside and laying between your legs, letting you catch that small smile on his face before he disappears from sight. You fluff Chan’s figure out like he’s a pillow and pile on the blankets and pillows in attempt to camouflage. “S-sure, Soonyoung!”
The outsider enters unsuspectingly, only noticing how much you’ve bundled yourself without thinking much of it. “Oh, you look cozy.”
“Was gonna turn in soon, ha. What’s up, Soon-y-young?”As you ask that, you can feel Chan’s fingers in and out of you, the pressure of his thumb over your clit burning your core enticingly.
Soonyoung makes himself come to the edge of your bed, practicing his breathing to get out the words he’s held in that only gets truer the longer you share the same space. “I wanted to be honest with you.”
“Mmh?”
Now Chan is shoving himself knuckles deep, curling his digits in a method, and has your toes flexed. You clench around him, holding back gasps, all while keeping tight-lipped smile.
“I was really careful about letting things escalate, but I don’t think I shouldn’t bottle my feelings up anymore.”
You’re forcing out these inappropriate thoughts. Forcing out the sensation of Chan practically ruining you in the middle of Soonyoung’s heartfelt speech. You’re overwhelmed with guilt but at this point, guilt and thrill became all the same.
“I know I said we should keep it a secret but, I think we should tell Chan.” The devil himself halts all movement, his ears now on high alert. “Because I think I like you and I want to make us a thing—“
“Like hell, you will!”
Chan rises from the depth of the pillow mountain and stares back at his roommate with much sustenance. The older man jumps at the abrupt appearance of his other roommate, taken aback being an understatement of what he’s feeling at the moment. “Chan?”
“You can turn yourself around and try again in 500 business days.”
“How are you—why are you—WHAT IS THAT DOING THERE?”
Soonyoung refers to the hand down your pants with an accusatory finger darted in its direction. Chan snorts, “Why this,” he shoves himself inside you at a jarring pace, causing your fingers to dig in the sheets, “I’m fulfilling my princess's filthy wishes. Plus I was here first.”
Soonyoung scoffs. “I got her months ago, kid. Keep up.”
“So did I. This isn’t new for me, as you can tell by how much of a mess she is for me.”
“Oh really? I met her in January.”
“Oh yeah, when? Because so did I.”
“20th.”
“Fuck.”
“Ha-ha, bitch! I win!”
“Oh yeah, who’s the one with the busy fingers?”
You can only take up so much more of the childish banter until you’re interrupting them with a guttural moan. “Please stop…and fuck me already.”
“What? Who? Both of us?” If Soonyoung was a game character, he’d have an exclamation point popping out of his head now.
“Are you seriously asking to have both of us?” Chan interjects. By his facial expression, you could’ve confused him for being offended, but Chan doesn’t stop the terror of his fingers, only thrusting in faster, your pussy squelching from the vicious ooze. “Needy little princess wants to be stuffed with two cocks, hmm?”
Soonyoung may have been late to the party but the appetizer was absolutely to die for. You’re soaking through your shorts, sweat now noticeably pilling from the forehead, and Soonyoung can’t believe he didn’t realize it earlier. In any other situation, he’d be offended. But when you respond to Chan with a “Yes, daddy,” and he realizes he’s not so easily intimidated.
Your pants now abandoned to the side of the room left space for Chan’s face while you’re seated against it, and he can’t help but get lost between your legs like a found treasure. His moans vibrate through your core, his fingers are drenched, and your arousal seeping from your cunt stream down his face and neck, soaking through your sheets.
Your legs are shaking, overwhelmed to the point of pulling away, only to have Chan pull you back against his mouth through sheer force. His jaw is restless in his venture, and his tongue, like a joystick, moves with purpose, ebbing every one of your precious whines and whimpers. You cry out when the muscle circles around your clit, his chin splitting between your folds and prods at your moisture.
You double over in anguish, breaking away from the salty-sweet taste of Soonyoung’s cock before he pushes it back inside your mouth, gripping you by the strands of your hair. “Who told you to stop taking my cock?”
Your tongue covers his base, running along the veins of his shaft as you bobbed, getting louder as he thrusts inside you. Your eyes stare back at him wide and submissive, batting your lashes when you feel him hit the back of your throat, meanwhile your hands or wet in a mix of saliva and precum, wet noises and gagging becoming as melodious as real music. “Mmh, get my dick wet just like that while Chan gets your pussy wet and juicy to put our cocks in? Hmm? Take our cocks like our perfect slutty roommate?”
You nod, trembling as Chan clutches you firmly, hands against your ass as he moves so that you rub against his mouth. Soonyoung revels in your body language. From the clench of your hips to the sway of your breasts, he’s simply in awe at your perfection. His hands your breasts,  feeling them spill out between his fingers before squeezing your hardened peaks between his fingerprints, pinching at their sensitivity, and you clench your abdomen at the sensation.
In that second, you release yourself in Chan, your cum traveling in hot streams as they flood his gums. His tongue laps every bit. Taken by your scent, he buries his nose until it feels like he’s envisioning stars in an empty sky, heart pulsing a million times a minute. When you finish, he parts from your folds, his lips separating in glistening translucent strands before climbing out from under you to replace Soonyoung’s cock with himself, pushing your load back inside you.
“Hey!”
The heat of his tongue flusters you, having you gush and melt around him, feeling his hand slip down you wait as his hand finds your ass before squeezing. Chan parts from your lips in chuckles, those clear ribbons stretching from your mouth to his, he caresses your head before speaking to his long-time roommate. “She needed to taste that. Show him, princess.”
He shoves you Soonyoung’s way and soon the other man understands exactly what the younger man meant. Like Ambrosia, your cum is addictive on your tongue, sweet and rich, he feels as if you embodied everything sex and he couldn’t have enough. On the other hand, Chan props you on all fours, your round ass pointed in his direction,  and he finds the rest of your arousal from behind. His tongue tickles your puckered rim, wetting it as his fingers tether to your clit and rubbing it against his fingertips
He kisses flushed skin, fingers gliding over your slit, aggressively devouring you with teeth and all. “Daddy loves this cunt of yours princess…mmh…Both your holes are so perfect,” He spanks your plush flesh, sighing feeling you jump underneath him. “Soonyoung get underneath her.”
The spell of sex is so strong when Soonyoung mindlessly obeys. His hands glide over your sides, peppering kisses all over your face before pulling your hips towards him. Those kisses help in hushing your screams when Chan pulls out his cock, the head rubbing against your moisture before it fills you inch by inch. You clench around him, burying your face in Sonyoung’s shoulder as you get stretched open.
Chan grins, landing strokes loud enough to sound off in another room, pounding you deep without remorse. “So tight…but you can take me, baby. I know you can.”
“Such a good girl,” Soonyoung encouragingly coos in your ear, pebbling your skin all over in goosebumps. “Whose pussy is that, hmm?”
Your breath hitches, seizing at every slap of skin, both from Chan's lap and palm. Your nails dig into Soonyoung’s shoulder, your lips grazing his neck. “It’s your pussy, it’s both your fucking pussy—shit…”
You press your waist against Soonyoung, waves of arousal contracting shorter the faster Chan pitches his tent inside you. Without clear warning, Soonyoung finds his place in your walls, right between you and Chan. Your jaw falls, bellowing out an obnoxiously loud laughter of disbelief until it melts into aggressive pleads, screaming, “yes, yes” and “just like that, fuck me,” until their mismatched rhythm gradually evens out.
Chan pulls you against his chest, having you pound against him and simultaneously bouncing away on Soonyoung. You reunite with Chan’s kiss as he’s slapping at your clit like a sadist teh stinging bringing buckles knees as you asked for more. His smile, unbearably beautiful yet evil, burns your skin like a gas stove. Your chest rapidly rises and falls, feeling your eyes flutter the back of your skull as another wave of arousal hits.
Your eyes dart to Soonyoung, drinking in his shapely body that glistens in sweat you’d lick off in heat or snow before meeting his dizzy gaze framed in sweat-dampened hair. You moan down at him, calling his name as his hands roam up your body. “You look fucking breathtaking…” he says stealing the words right from your mouth. “You’re gonna cum for us, baby?”
You whine, fingers curling up in frustration as you high keep going in going with no break, amplified by being crushed against Chan’s toned chest and abdomen until your breathing comes out in a staccato rhythm.
“Do it, just for us. We want you to cum around our cocks like the good slutty girl we know you are.” Soonyoung eggs.
“S-soon…”
Chan's hand clamps over your neck, lips fanning hot breath on your ear as puts pressure on your neck. You gasp for life, groans in the depth of your throat erupting followed by the pool of lust in your stomach. “Do it, princess. Daddy wants to see you make a mess…”
“Daddy, I don’t know–ah–overstimulated–”
“That’s no excuse, princess. Cum. Cum like a princess is meant to.”
Emotions are heightened by their thrusts, filling your orifices with not only themself but pure saturated euphoria. You contract, swallowing your moans and salvia, thighs rubbing helplessly as you let the wave reach its peak and dissipate, having been followed up by the rush of being filled to the brim with their sweet release. You ram down on Soonyoung’s length to trap the load, by the weakness in your legs causes you to fall against him, meeting his lips serendipitously in a tender, relieving kiss.
“You’re incredible, you know that?” he says in a hushed voice.
“We,” Chan takes a moment to catch his breath, “We’re doing this again. All of us.”
You softly smile before pulling Chan down in the pile, cuddling harmoniously until it dawns on all of you the desperately needed shower. Then, you’re all over each other again. And again. And again. This is going to be one hell of a living arrangement.

Headcanons for the Shaw Pack's Ideal Vacations
Inspired by Asher's excitement over the honeymoon cruise. (Oh, best beta boi. I am so happy you are having lots of fun, but I do not understand how anyone tolerates, let alone enjoys, a cruise.)
David: A week away with Angel at the pack cabin. It's far enough away to disconnect from the real world, but close enough so David wouldn't feel completely isolated or unable to reach a pack member if there were an emergency. David likes an active vacation: hikes, swims, etc. Spending uninterrupted, quality time together with his mate is difficult. David adores the chance to put his responsibilities on pause (he struggles with that, but he'd getting better) and focus solely on Angel.
Angel: An adventure to somewhere they've never been. Angel is all about the expierience, especially when it comes to new places. They love trekking their own path, exploring all a new region has to offer, whether it be a cozy cafe, a historic landmark, a little-known cottage off the beaten path, or whatever else they might find along the way with David.
Asher: A cruise, for the reasons listed in his latest video. Look, I don't get it in the slightest, but Asher loves it and that's what's important. All aboard!
Babe: A staycation. As up for travel as Babe is, being able to curl up in their home, turn off their work devices, and enjoy their time is the epitome of relaxation and vacation. Dahlia has a lot to offer, but Babe often finds themselves so busy with work, they don't get to take advantage of the area. On a staycation, however, Babe gets the opportunity to be a tourist in their own home, and it's glorious. They and Asher get to hit all the fun spots, but have the added bonus of knowing exactly where they are, what to do to get the most out of the day, and know that their own bed (as well as their husband) will be waiting for them at the end of the day.
Milo: International tour. As a child, Milo always dreamt of seeing the world and getting to expierience a variety of cultures, so taking a few weeks to tour a handful of countries would be the perfect getaway for him. He studies up on the history and language before departing so he can get the most out of the trip, making sure to hit all the cultural hotspots, sampling all the quintessential food, and taking a billion pictures of everything (including Sweetheart) that he can show Marie when he returns home.
Sweetheart: A long, luxurious weekend in a different city. Although at home Sweetheart resists even the most basic of indulgences out of dedication and practicality, once they are on a (rare) vacation, they transform into someone who craves pampering and luxury of all kinds. They explore a good mix of touristy sights (museums! theatre! zoo! etc!) as well as having some free time to wander around with Milo and see what they find together.
Darling and Sam: Camping in a remote area in the woods. Darling loves getting in touch with their wild side. Spending some time off the grid helps them reset and recharge. They love being able to forget about covert, shifting into and out of their wolf form with ease. The dense forest also acts as a great coverage from the sun for Sam, which makes their trip even better. Sam enjoys the isolation and peace that comes with being in nature with his mate and no one else. He digs into the vampire side of himself, unencumbered by social strictures or vampire politics. At night, after a hunt or run, they lay on the ground and stargaze together.

A Day In
Pairing: Olivia Benson x Daughter! Reader
Summary: When your mother is sent home with the promise she would take a few days off work, all she wants to do is spend it with her family.
Comfort
Warnings: Brief Mention of a Hard Case | 0.9K
AC: Thank you for sending this! This is my first Olivia fic, so for all new readers, welcome! Please note that my work isn’t perfect, and you might come across mistakes, I do apologise for any! I hope you all enjoy this! x
Tumblr media
Ah, Wednesday, spaghetti night at the Bensons! It wasn’t un-usual for you to make dinner for your younger brother, Noah, and your mother. You rather enjoyed cooking and now that Noah was a little older, he liked to join in and help wherever he could. After dinner, you would help Noah with any homework he had before he would spend a little time doing his own thing before going to bed. Usually after he would go to bed is when you would sit down and start your homework, but tonight was different.
You had just sat down at your desk in your room when you heard the front door close. A heavy sigh could be heard down the hall, it was your mother, and she was home a lot earlier than usual. You closed your laptop and wandered into the living room to greet her. You could tell today had been rough on her, she was exhausted but somehow, she always managed to smile through it.
She smiled softly when she saw you, “hey sweetheart” she greeted. You returned the soft smile, “hey, I made spaghetti, do you want me to heat up your plate?” You asked, opening the refrigerator and wrapping the covered meal. “How did you know that’s exactly what I was craving?” Olivia chuckled as she threw her coat over the back of the sofa.
“How was your day?” She asked, taking a seat on the stool at the kitchen counter, running her hands through her hair. “Meh” you shrugged, “the normal” you added as you turned to face your mom. One look into her eyes and you could tell she was trying her best to keep you from seeing she was miles away. “Rough day?” You asked, bringing her back to you. Softly, she nodded, “but I don’t want you to worry about me” she replied.
“Mom, come on, it’s my job to worry about you” you reminded her. Being the oldest child of Olivia, you had a little more experience with her job and just how hard it can be, not only on Olivia but also on you and Noah. “Well, there’s no need to worry” she assured you, “I’ve promised the team to take a few days off so what about you and I have a girls day tomorrow?” She offered.
“But I have school?” You questioned, turned to the microwave as it beeped.
“It’ll be one day, usually I don’t like to pull you out of school for the day but I’ve noticed you’ve been a little on edge recently so maybe a day in will do us both some good”
You placed the plate of spaghetti in front of your mother, looking up at her and nodding softly, “what about Noah?” You asked.
“We’ll let him pick the movie tomorrow night” she smiled before swirling her fork into the spaghetti.

In a worry, your eyes widened as you grabbed your phone from your bedside table, your morning alarm didn’t wake you, it was now 10:21am. You shot out of bed, totally forgetting the plans you had made last night with your mom as you rushed down the hall to the kitchen only to see your mother drinking a coffee she had brought from a nearby coffee shop.
“Good morning” she smiled, “I thought I’d let you sleep in” she added. Once your mind recollected the conversations from last night, your worries of being late for school faded away. You made yourself some cereal and took a seat on the sofa, “you should’ve let a note” you chuckled.
“My bad, next time I will” Olivia replied, “Noah is at school, and I stopped by the store on my way home and grabbed some of your favourite snacks, I thought we could order some take out for dinner and the first activity of our day in is on you!” She added, joining you on the sofa as you ate your breakfast.
“How do you feel about letting me dye my hair?” You asked, looking over to her.
“Oh yeah? What color were you thinking?”
“Maybe something a little lighter? I just feel like a little change is all” you replied in hopes it would help convince her a little more.
“Let’s do it! After breakfast, we’ll go to the store and get some dye” your mother smiled.
The day with your mom was something you didn’t know you needed just as much as she needed. Neither of you spoke about school or work, it was just the two of you bonding over boxed hair dye, trashy movies and snacks. Before you knew it, it was time to pick Noah up from school. You and mother went together, taking him by surprise to see his mother by your side.
One the way home, the three of you took a walk through the park enjoying a take-away hot chocolate sharing plenty of laughs and stories. Noah loved talking about his day at school and you loved seeing him so happy but most of all, you loved being able to have times like this. Memories that would last forever.
Noah ended up picking Chinese take-out for dinner, no surprise there! The rest of the afternoon was spent playing some board games before ending the night with the three of you watching family fun movies that Noah had picked. He fell asleep while cuddled into your mother.
“Today has been the best” you spoke softly, careful not to wake Noah. “I really glad you were sent home with time off” you added. Olivia looked over to you and smiled softly, “me too sweetheart” she whispered back.

“I’m sorry again.”
A huff leaves your lips when you turn to Felix’s figure buried under layers of blankets. “Lix, for the millionth time, I promise you, it’s fine. I chose to stay and take care of you.”
“You didn’t choose. The others chose you because you already got sick before,” Felix argues, “And I know how excited you were for the party, so don’t lie that it’s okay.” He squirms, looking adorably identical to a swaddled baby.
“If I didn’t wanna be here, then I wouldn’t be here, okay?” You say, picking up the water bottle sitting at his bedside table and bringing it up to his lips to drink, “I was excited, but I don’t think it would’ve been fun knowing you weren’t there to enjoy it, either.”
Felix takes a sip out of the bottle and hums at how delicious the water tastes when his throat is as dry. He thanks you and sighs, “Yeah but you’ve been talking about it for the past month and I had to ruin it with my stupid immune system.”
“Well, would you rather it be me or Jisung here to take care of you?” You raise a brow. His silence was enough to answer you and you giggled, “See?” Although Jisung was a great friend to Felix, he and you both knew that Jisung would only do the bare minimum at times like these.
“Are you okay with me leaving for a bit to make you soup?” you ask, “You can just call out to me and I’ll come quick.”
Felix lets out a sound of acknowledgement and you leave him be, leaving his rather stuffy room and out into the main area of his apartment.
You move into the kitchen, your slippers dragging against the cool tile, eyes set on the bags of groceries you had bought to cook. There’s a twinge of guilt in your chest because you’re starting to think that you were the one who had given Felix this nasty cold, but it genuinely wasn’t the reason why you chose to stay and take care of him.
Playing one of your playlists, you get to cooking, squatting down to grab a decently sized pot in one of the cabinets. You eye the amount of water you fill it with before carefully bringing it to the stove to boil. Then you pull out a chopping board to begin slicing vegetables.
All of this was like second nature to you. It was something you’d prepare on lazy days or days when you needed comfort, and you figured that this was the perfect time to make it.
It was halfway through that you heard Felix’s door creak open and the floorboards underneath your feet shift. “Lix, get back to bed.” You speak to him over your shoulder, too busy stirring the pot to prevent the ingredients from settling to the bottom and overcooking. “Smells good.” Felix’s voice comes out hoarse. He waddles over to you, his blankets trailing behind him like the train of a wedding dress.
It almost catches you off guard when Felix chooses to place himself at your side, your arms making an indent into his bunch of blankets. You freeze for a moment before you push yourself to look over at him. Fuck he was close. Like ‘you could probably count his freckles’ close. And Felix didn’t seem to care, thoughtlessly blinking at the bobbing vegetables.
“Dizzy…” Felix’s arm emerges from underneath his blankets and his hand goes to grab his head. The lids of his eyes close and he groans, brows knitting in discomfort.
“That’s why you should get back into bed, stupid,” you nudge at his side and put down your spoon, “C’mon.”
He shakes his head, “I don’t want to go back to bed.” Felix sounds like a stubborn child, but you figure this was how all men were when they were sick. It was the same with your brother and your dad… and you can recall that Jisung was stubborn when he was sick a few months back, too.
“If you’re dizzy, you need to lay down, Lix.”
His head turns and settles on the couch in the nearby living room, “Can I lay down in the living room, then?”
“Fine.” You guide him to the couch, making sure that the guy doesn’t fall over and hit his head, “When was the last time you took meds?”
Felix shrugs, “Like… when Sungie left?”
You look over at the clock and estimate the number of hours until his next dose, “Okay, remind me to give you some at eight.”
“Yes, mom.”
“Do you want me to take care of you, or not?” You jokingly threaten, sending him a glare, though his eyes were closed.
“Was… joking.” Felix burrows deeper into the couch, “Was joking…” And he’s asleep.
You shake your head, a laugh leaving your system in the form of a huff of air before you go back to your soup, dropping in the last few ingredients before letting it sit.
From where you were in the kitchen, Felix moaned and grumbled out incoherent words, stopping after what seemed to be a sentence. You figured that he was sleep talking—you remember reading somewhere that it was a result of stress in the body—and it was utterly adorable.
Thinking back over all the years you’ve been friends with Felix, there was not one day when he was this sick. He's had a couple of colds that’s lasted no more than two days, a flu here and there, but never had he fallen so sick that he’s sleep talking.
When you finish cooking the soup, you turn the stove off and go to one of the cabinets to take two bowls out. You prepare a serving for you and Felix, using a serving spoon to pour the contents of the soup. Hunger’s gaining on you, too. You’ve been so busy making the food that you haven’t even thought of eating.
“Lix.” You look down at him from behind the couch. The boy’s still mumbling things underneath his breath and you can see the way his eyes move underneath his lids. Bringing your pointer finger up to his cheek, you poke it, “Lix, the soup’s ready.”
Felix stirs and his eyes flutter, open, “Hm?”
“The soup’s ready.”
In the blink of an eye, the pot’s empty and all the soup is downed and eaten by you and Felix, who looks far better than he did not even half an hour ago.
He’s wide awake, hair still a mess and blankets sitting around his waist at the table. A delicate smile sits on his lips, satisfied by the meal you’ve just given him and he thanks you, “I’ll do the dishes.” “Nuh-uh, you’re going to continue resting.” Before he objects, you reach over and grab his bowl and his utensils, gathering them with your own. You’re quick to get up and get to the sink, ignoring the hurried calls Felix sends your way.
He follows you soon after, though he stumbles in the slightest, sticking to your side like a magnet. “Y/N, let me do it. Please~”
“Lix, it’s two bowls and two spoons.”
“I don’t care, you cooked the food,” Felix frowns. He makes no effort to push you aside but he hovers over your shoulder, watching as you wait for the water to warm up.
“I don’t care, you’re sick,” you retort.
You feel Felix’s hands gently grab your elbows, this time making his attempts to pull you aside so that he could start with the chore, “Y/N~”
You tsk and shoot him a glare, “Felix, I’m serious.”
Felix drops his arms and huffs as if he were a child being told no. “I feel bad.”
“You’re sick,” you repeat, “It’s okay, Lix. Now go sit on the couch before you fall over.”
Another sigh of defeat shoots out of Felix’s lips and he hesitates to leave, sticking to your side for a few more moments before he turns to return to the couch.
“Do you want to do something for the rest of the night?” You hope he hears you over the running water, “We can watch a movie if you want.”
If Felix replied, you don’t hear him, water running on full blast as you rinse the suds of soap off of the dishes. You place them into the dishwasher and then go to wash your hands, quickly joining Felix in the living room.
“Do you know what we haven’t done in so long?” Felix is sitting upright on the couch, upper body sinking on the backrest of the furniture. His hair sticks out in tufts from underneath his head as he looks at you.
“What?”
“Built a fort.”
You snort at the idea of building a fort in the middle of his and Jisung’s living room, feeling a bit of nostalgia when you think back to your days as kids and pre-teens. Building furniture forts was something you and Felix had always done on sleepovers, always promising your parents that the place would be back into its rightful state before one of you had to go back home.
“You really want to build a fort right now?” You raise a brow at the sickly boy. The idea was cute, something that would easily kill the time from now ‘til Jisung returns from the party. And despite your question, you weren’t opposed to building a fort.
“Please?” For some reason, Felix believes that you’re going to say no, “I feel okay right now! I feel better! Your soup made me feel better!” He musters up the best pout he can show you and sits up. The sudden change in position reminds Felix that he still has symptoms of dizziness, slightly tipping over before he goes to grab your hand.
And being the weakest motherfucker for Felix, you cave in, “On one condition.”
He nods for you to continue.
“If I sense that you’re really not feeling well and you start getting all dizzy on me, we’re stopping.”
“Deal.”
You and Felix spin a wheel to see which holiday movie you should play in the background as you build the cozy fortress—it lands on Love Actually—and begin taking apart the couches. Cushions and blankets from the living room and Felix’s room create a mountain off to the side, and you both manage to push the frames of the sofas to be used as the fort’s foundation.
The building takes longer than you both had wanted, occasionally stopping because the movie was growing more and more interesting as time passed. But during the filler scenes, you begin arranging the blankets, pillows, and seats to create walls and roofs for the fort.
The actual shape of the fort wasn’t the most creative, but you and Felix had decided to prioritize comfort over aesthetics. Most of the pillows and the blankets created the bedding for you both to lay in, the largest blanket, a thin secondary blanket coming from his room, was what you had chosen for the roof.
Upon finishing, you couldn’t help but notice the way Felix grins from ear to ear and the sight of it causes your heart to warm up unusually—one that was both familiar yet new. You ignore it.
“Finally,” Felix huffs, “Finally I can lay down.”
The movie’s just about finished when you’re both able to settle inside the fort (yes, it took two whole hours to build a fort). That feeling of nostalgia from earlier rushes back and your gaze leaves the screen and onto the blank, soft blue fabric of the fort’s ceiling.
“What movie should we play next?” Felix questions from beside you. He’s seated slightly higher than you were—you were laying flat on your back—and you feel his forearm leave your side to grab the remote.
“Doesn’t really matter to me,” you say quietly. You’re not quite sure what’s taken over you but you catch yourself continuing to stare blankly at Felix’s thin blanket.
Felix takes a while to reply, probably scrolling through the selection of movies but you don’t make an effort to look. You feel like falling asleep.
“The Polar Express, it is.” You feel your best friend shift back to your side, tugging at his blanket to pull it up to his chin.
“Are you okay?” Then Felix’s face appears in your line of sight. He’s looking down at you, lips forming a small u-shaped smile as he patiently awaits your answer. And from his perspective, your eyes cross to look back at him, eyes half-lidded.
“Yeah, ‘m just tired.” You ignore the way your heart’s annoyingly beating against your rib cage.
Felix understands your answer. You’ve been taking care of him for the entirety of the evening, and then you both built an entire fort with not-so-light materials.
Felix plops back down next to you, this time his arm falling right on top of yours—and none of you try to move away. You figured that it was because it felt… nice—the apartment was cold, the room patiently waiting for the furnace’s next round of heat—so the heat radiating off of Felix’s arm was more than enough for you to feel comfortable.
“Me too.”
You wouldn’t call Polar Express boring, but it was calming enough for you to fall asleep. It’s funny because you were well aware that you were falling asleep, you just couldn’t bring yourself to shake yourself out of it.
“You’re sleeping~” Felix calls out. He doesn’t think he’d actually wake you up, but when your eyes flicker open to look at him, he’s already looking back at you with an apologetic smile.
“I’m just resting my eyes,” you lie, “I’m tired.”
“You can sleep if you want,” Felix says this extra quiet, just under his breath.
The heaviness of your eyelids was taking over, smile drooping, “Wake me up if you need anything.”
Felix gives you a hum in response, and you find yourself succumbing to sleep.

“Jisung, you need to get off of me, I know you’re not drunk.”
Changbin’s voice echoes in the quiet hallway of the apartment building, Chan doing nothing to help the younger boy out. Instead, he’s walking ahead to unlock the door of Jisung and Felix’s shared apartment, opening the door wide enough for both guys to slip through.
“I’m not, but I’m tired~” Jisung whines. He’s practically pulling down Changbin with all his weight, tripping and stumbling over his own feet. Chan just laughs, entering the room first to hold it open for the two.
“What’s that?” Changbin’s the first to notice the fort that you and Felix had built earlier in the night. The TV was now off from inactivity and the place was quiet.
Chan shrugs and Jisung groans at the sight of the mess (he doesn’t know yet that you’ll clean it up the next morning), not able to get a word out because Changbin tows him away from the living room and straight to his bedroom.
“Y/N?” Chan calls out, “Lix?”
He makes his way to the opening of the fort, his steps light and careful because he’s starting to get suspicious that you both were asleep, maybe hiding.
Chan squats down, groaning when he feels his aging knees crack. Then, he brings himself to peek in.
Under the dim light spilling into the fort, Chan sees the both of you fast asleep. You’re facing away from Felix, a small throw pillow being suffocated in your arms. And Felix, both of his arms are thrown around you and falling limp around your frame.
As much as Chan wanted to tease the both of you, he couldn’t help but notice how peaceful the two looked—probably exhausted.
“Are they in there?”
Chan looks up and over the roof of the fort to see that Changbin has finally gotten rid of Jisung and he is ready to head home. He has a knowing smile, almost appearing like a smirk.
Chan nods and mirrors Changbin’s expressions and stands up.
“Give me your phone, I need to take a picture of this.”
