A Dad's World - Prologue
Report 127: Summary of Findings
Author: Alan Farren
Date: November 12th, 2023
Location: Fairhaven Outpost
Days since outbreak: 87
It has been nearly three months since the initial outbreak of what we are now calling the 'Father virus'. Almost three months since all women and children disappeared, and the remaining men began transforming into larger and more mature versions of themselves.
It was quickly discovered that the virus spreads through bodily fluids entering the body. This is most commonly observed with saliva, blood, and cum. The best ways to avoid the virus are to cover as much skin as possible with clothing, making sure to reinforce exposed wounds. Take extra care to cover every orifice using goggles, face masks, and protection for the anal cavity as these are most common entry points for the virus.
Symptoms appear almost immediately after contact with the virus in what's referred to as the 'Transformation stage' of infection. Symptoms include rapid multiplication of fat and muscle tissues, changes to physical anatomy, and heightened testosterone production resulting in changes in behaviour, growth of body hair, thinning of hair on the head, and growth of sexual organs. Although symptoms differ drastically from person to person in the transformation stage, symptoms seem to stagnate afterwards, only reappearing in very specific situations explained in further detail in paragraph 4. The infected are commonly referred to as 'Dads', due to the physical changes brought in by the virus.
We have discovered 7 types of 'Dad'; the jock, the farmer, the nerd, the father, the elder, the entertainer, and the athlete as organized by most common to least common. Each exhibits different behaviour and have different physical and mental changes upon infection. In most cases, the type of infection is determined upon infection and does not change. But in cases observed in small communities, individual infected may reenter a transformation stage and change into another type of dad. This is thought to be a mutation in the virus in a struggling environment attempting to change its host into something more fit for its environment.
The following is an in depth record of each type of infected that has been discovered as of November 12th, 2023.
The Jock:
There are 2 sub types of Jock, type a) and type b).
Jock a) aka. Ripped Jocks
Mental Attributes:
The ripped jock has the lowest mental capacity of the known dad types. They are limited in their capabilities when not instructed by others, but are great at following orders. They do, however, seem to have instinctual knowledge of how to use many types of weapons and show good hand to hand combat skill without training. Most ripped jocks tend to be loud and imposing, but don't tend to have much of meaning to say. They're also the most hostile to uninfected humans.
Physical Attributes:
The ripped jock has the second highest muscle mass of the dad types, falling just behind the Tank Jock. Muscle mass is highest in the biceps, chest, and thighs. The ripped jock has a very small body fat percentage, especially for how much muscle mass they have. They have the largest genitalia of the dad types, this is thought to be for means of infection as cum is their most common method of infection, and it is also potentially used for reproduction. The ripped jock tends to have a large lower jaw, broad shoulders and chest, and thick thighs. They sweat a considerable amount, and tend to smell musky. Like other types of dads they tend to have short hair, but ripped jocks are the only type of dad that has been observed hairless. Although it is unknown whether this is due to them shaving, or if some ripped jocks are naturally hairless.
Average weight; 350 pounds
Average height; 6'8"
Roles:
Ripped jocks are most often used in the dad's military force as soldiers, due to their proficiency with weapons and combat, as well as their obedience. They have also been observed as labourers in construction and landscaping due to their physical strength. Ripped jocks are also rarely found in fight clubs if their community has them.
Visual Signs:
A dad with a wide jaw, large chest and biceps, and a six pack will almost always be a ripped jock. Though if a dad is hairless, it is a ripped jock as no other type has been observed without body hair. They tend to wear either sports gear, tang tops, or are shirtless unless they're in military gear.

Jock b) aka. Tank Jocks
Mental Attributes:
Tank jocks or tanks are still among the dumbest of dad types, but tend to be slightly more intelligent than ripped jocks. They're also far more independent than ripped jocks, tending to have hobbies outside of their roles. They are good fighters, but rely more on their sheer size rather than technique when they fight. Tanks are often kind and sweet despite their stature, and are very good at listening. Some can even hold a good conversation.
Physical Attributes:
Tanks are the largest type of dad, combining the muscle of the ripped jock and the fat of the father. They have the highest muscle mass of any type, and have the third highest average fat percentage below the father and the elderly. They store most of their fat in their stomach, chest, and thighs with some going to their biceps and ass. Like the ripped jock, tanks tend to have large lower jaws, but theirs get covered in a layer of fat giving them a soft jawline and somewhat chubby cheeks. They have broad shoulders, soft round pecs, a large gut, and generally very soft features. They are also on average the second hairiest type of dad, just behind the farmers and they're the second most likely to be bald, just behind the elders. Tanks tend to have large hands and feet as well as sun damaged skin from all of the labour outside.
Average weight; 500 pounds
Average height; 6'6"
Roles:
Tanks are often labourers in construction and landscaping, they can be used for anything that requires strength. They occasionally join the military force, but their natural kindness often clashes with it, making it a rare sight.
Visual Signs:
Tanks are massive, anyone with huge muscle and a ball gut is a tank. They tend to wear baseball caps to avoid the sun, but don't often have shirts on due to the rarity of clothes that fit. Jeans and work boots are also very common.
*Example of Tank Jock Specimen*

The Farmer:
Mental Attributes:
Farmers tend to be slightly below average intelligence, though they're very knowledgeable when it comes to tending to plants and animals. They're very reserved, preferring to be with animals than other dads. Though when they are with others, they tend to be nice. Farmers rarely have hobbies that don't involve their roles and spend a majority of their time working.
Physical Attributes:
Farmers have an average build for a dad, though they do have a high variability in body fat percentage compared to other types of dad. Farmers with a lower body fat percentage tend to have a V shaped torso with a tight waist and a fat ass. Farmers with larger body fat percentages tend to store most of their fat in their guts. They're the hairiest type of dad usually sporting a large beard and a thick layer of hair over most of their body. Farmers have a modest amount of muscle for a dad, but have massive hands to help handle crops, animals, and farm tools.
Average weight; 250 - 350 pounds
Average Height; 6'2"
Roles:
Most farmers fall into one of two roles, crop farmers and livestock farmers. Crop farmers grow fruits and vegetables, and occasionally grow flowers when in thriving communities. Livestock farmers raise and care for animals, using them for animal products and protein. Though in smaller communities, farmers often take on both of these roles. In rare cases, farmers may take on other roles depending on environment and community needs. Farmers have been observed in roles such as lumberjacks and fishermen.
Visual Signs:
Farmers are the hairiest type of dad, look for big bushy beards, and thick hairs covering the body. Avoid using weight and physique as farmers have a high variability in weight. Farmers often wear jeans with suspenders, big boots, jean or flannel button ups, and usually sport baseball caps or straw hats.

The Nerd:
Mental Attributes:
Nerds are by far the smartest type of dad, having a higher average IQ than even the smartest elders and athletes. They're well spoken and kind, but a high percentage of nerds exhibit narcissistic behaviours, often seeing themselves as different or better than other types of dads. Nerds can usually talk about topics they're interested in for hours, but only seem to talk to dads they deem smart enough. Nerds are the only type of dad that has been observed to be non hostile to uninfected humans. They tend to rather converse with humans they consider intelligent or intriguing, though they tend to show hostility otherwise. Nerds have the most varied hobbies of any type of dad, they tend to hyperfixate on topics they deem interesting. They have even been observed conducting experiments and doing research into scientific topics that interest them.
Physical Attributes:
Nerds tend to be tall and skinny compared to other types of dads. They have a low body fat percentage and medium muscle mass, having relatively normal human proportions. Though nerds that have an interest in physical health may have proportions closer to the ripped jock. Nerds have bad eyesight, so they usually wear glasses or contacts if they can find them.
Average Weight; 250 pounds
Average Height; 6'8"
Roles:
Nerds have high versatility compared to other types of dads. Though they tend to take on roles in healthcare and education, they can take on a variety of roles including architecture, psychology, and sometimes even high ranking roles in the military.
Visual Signs:
Nerds almost always wear glasses, if a dad is wearing glasses and doesn't look old then they're most likely a nerd. They tend to be tall but otherwise have relatively normal proportions. Nerds tend to be well kept with short stubble and clean skin. Nerds also tend to dress fancier than other types of dads, usually sporting suits or dress clothes.
*Example of Nerd Specimen*
Tumblr media
The Father:
Mental Attributes:
Father type dads are caring and sociable. They tend to put other dads before themselves and spend most of their time socializing, usually with other father type dads. They're of average intelligence among the dad types, they can become somewhat knowledgeable on topics of interest but tend to struggle keeping up with anything the nerds talk about. They show high degrees of empathy toward other dads, but have only been observed as hostile towards uninfected humans.
Physical Attributes:
Father type dads are obese. They have the highest body fat percentage of the dad types, concentrating most of it in the stomach and chest. Fathers don't have very high muscle mass, but have been shown to be very strong when under stress. They tend to have round faces and even rounder guts, with the rest of their bodies being plump and soft. Father type dads are slow and unathletic, being the easiest type of dad to escape other than the elders.
Average Weight; 400 pounds
Average Height; 6'6"
Roles:
Fathers most often take on caretaking roles. They often cook, clean, and generally nurse the sick and elderly dads. Though they can take on communal roles, such as cooking and cleaning for their entire communities, especially when there are few sick and elder dads. They are rarely seen filling the roles of entertainers when there are an abundance of fathers and a lack of entertainers
Visual Signs:
Fathers are very fat, but lack the muscle and excessive body hair of the tanks. They often wear very loose fitting and casual clothes, most often seen in jeans and t-shirts.
*Example of Father Specimen*
Tumblr media
The Elder:
Mental Attributes:
Elders are the second smartest type of dad behind the nerds, though they possess more wisdom and maturity than the nerds. They're emotionally intelligent and tend to provide life knowledge that the nerds are incapable of providing, even if they're only recently infected. They tend to have simple hobbies, but do not need much to stay entertained. Despite being intelligent, elders tend to have a poor short term memory.
Physical Attributes:
Elders are the weakest type of dad, with the lowest muscle mass of any type of dad. They have the second highest body fat percentage, only slightly behind the fathers. They have similar fat distribution to the fathers, but tend to be much hairier. They're nearly immobile and are rarely a threat to humans, usually requiring assistance when they walk, if they get up at all. Elders have white hair and are usually balding, with mostly white hair covering their bodies. They have wrinkled and sagging skin, reminiscent of elderly humans. Elders have large round guts and soft breasts, similar to father types.
Average Weight; 350 pounds
Average Height; 6'0"
Roles:
Elders are the only type of dad that have been observed without roles in their communities, though most of them still have roles. They tend to take on roles in politics and law due to their wisdom, maturity, and ability to be impartial. Most elders that do not have one of these roles tend to contribute to their community by making art and clothing.
Visual Signs:
Elders tend to be the only type of dad that has majority grey hair. They also tend to have much older looking features than the other types. Elders are also very slow and often use assistance to move. It is not advised to use body shape as a sign due to the similarity between the body shape of elders and fathers.
*Example of Elder Specimen*
Tumblr media
The Entertainer:
Mental Attributes:
Entertainers are of average intelligence among dad types. They tend to lack the book smarts that nerds have, but they have excellent people skills. They're extremely good at reading other dads and have the ability to be very deceptive if they choose, though they often choose to be charming and persuasive rather than deceptive. Entertainers are confident in themselves and their abilities, and can even become competitive if their abilities are questioned. They enjoy pleasing other dads and often use comedy or sex to try to cheer them up. They have the highest libido of any dad type, up there with the jocks, but are much better at controlling their desires around other dads.
Physical Attributes:
Entertainers tend to have average builds, though they do have a relatively high variation of muscle mass and body fat compared to other dad types. They're on average a lot more conventionally attractive than other dad types. Their muscle usually concentrates in their biceps, chest, abs, and thighs, giving them the appearance of having more muscle mass than they do. For entertainers who have a higher body fat percentage, their fat tends to spread evenly throughout their bodies. They also tend to hairier than the average dad, having full beards, hairy bodies, and unlike most other dad types, they almost always have a full head of hair. The occasional entertainer will be completely bald, but they have never been observed in the stages of balding. Entertainers have some of the largest genitalia of any dad type, just falling short of the jocks.
Average Weight; 250 pounds
Average Height; 6'4"
Roles:
Most entertainers work as sex workers within their communities. They often work with jocks to satisfy their high libido and to keep them from getting too aggressive, as sexual frustration is a common problem among jocks. Though, in larger communities with many entertainers, they often take on roles as artists. They will usually pursue acting, visual arts, or even music if the need for sex work is low. Although they rarely ever stop having sex with dads regardless of whether its their role.
Visual Signs:
Entertainers rarely wear clothes other than jockstraps or leather, and they often wear jewellery. They also tend to be more conventionally attractive than other dad types. It is unreliable to rely on body shape, as there are many other dad types that may share the same shape.
*Example of Entertainer Specimen*
Tumblr media
The Athlete:
Mental Attributes:
Athletes possess higher than average intelligence for dads. They're great strategists and problem solvers, always finding a way out of bad situations. They act the most similar to the average human man, at least similar to the average American man. They're tough on themselves and on others, as a result, they can be quite intimidating to other dads despite their stature. They tend to spend their spare time working out or occasionally reading philosophy and self help books. Athletes tend to be quite good at knowing peoples weaknesses and exploiting them.
Physical Attributes:
Athletes are much smaller than other dad types. They're much shorter than other dads and have quite lean bodies in comparison, though they're stronger than they look. Athletes are quick and nimble, being great runners, climbers, and acrobats. They look very similar to humans, though they appear to be on the hyper masculine side of regular men. They tend to have good definition, but it doesn't show that well through clothing. Athletes usually have trimmed beards, sharp features, and big hands, feet, and genitalia relative to their size. They also tend to have loud and deep voices and their faces often appear angry or annoyed even at rest.
Average Weight: 180 pounds
Average Height: 5'8"
Roles:
Due to their small stature, athletes are often used for any role that involves running or climbing. As such they're often used as messengers between dad communities and as scouts for human outposts. Their agility and speed make them amazing spies as well. Also, due to their ability to strategize, they often work high up in their community's military.
Visual Signs:
Athletes are extremely dangerous as they resemble uninfected men. Be cautious around assertive and hyper masculine men, especially if they're relatively short as athletes are shorter than men on average. Athletes often wear baseball caps, but don't tend to have any preferred clothes other than that. They also tend to have large hands and feet, but not a significant enough difference from men to reliably use to spot athletes.
Other Notes:
Athletes seemed to have evolved after the initial outbreak. After the initial wave of men to infect, dads struggled to find humans, so athletes seemed to be their response to this need. A smart, quick, and nimble dad who blends in with humans is exactly what they needed and got.

hello hello, it's been a while since i asked a question so i'm back with one about...hair! can you tell us anything about the soli cast's hairstyling habits? ranking them from least to most effort put into maintaining it every morning, who's the most likely to wear braids, how attunements (feathers or anything else) play a part in this and what accomodations/products the veil makes for these mages.
Always a pleasure to see you show up in my activity feed or inbox, so the questions are welcome! Ranking them, funny enough but Maia would be at the top of the list for how much effort is put in. Her hairstyle is, by all means, simple. Behind the scenes, though, there's a lot going on to make it look effortless... and of course, when hair reaches a certain length it does become quite a task of love. This goes beyond just styling, as we're talking potions, serums, perfumes and maintenance.
Lyra easily comes after Maia... though she enjoys looking Nice Enough (it might be more accurate to say she likes looking "Cute, in a Mad Scientist Hippie sort of way"-- her own words), her haircare routine is more out of necessity than Maia's labor of love. It wasn't always as difficult to tame, but as her manifestation's overgrowth peppered in between her already wavy, loose curls, that changed. Thankfully detangler potions and specialty combs made for her exact type of manifestation come in quite handy... having a husband willing to help tame the nest, even as it got more out of control, also helps. It's difficult to see due to mostly seeing her from the front during chapter 2 and the post chapter omake, but she clips part of her thick hair back with a fused crystal lotus barrette. Etched into it is a simple sigil that aids in helping to keep things in place. It can't work miracles, but it can help keep her hair and feathers from tangling due to day-to-day activities. Audric follows after them. He wears a tidier, shorter hairstyle unless you count for the length of feathers that he ties back and tucks away under his uniform coat when on duty. There's nothing overly special in his haircare routine, though that changes when it comes to taking care of those silver-grey feathers that rest beneath his dark hair. Maintaining them to prevent breaks and fraying is where most of his efforts go. As they're a product of a rare phenomenon where a manifest trait is passed to a child from both parents sharing the same manifestation, though, he's been doing this since he was a small child... there was considerably more fraying and breakage as a child despite everyone's best efforts, especially as new growth and pin feathers are going to cause enough itching that a child isn't going to be able to resist. As an adult, though, it isn't much of a problem... and feather manifestations being a more common one in the veil means there's plenty of resources for taking care of them. His preening is now spot on. Audun follows soon after... Though his feathers are fine and small, much more flexible, and aren't quite as finnicky as his wife's and eldest son's. His hairstyle is simple, shorter, with the side lengths clipped back, it isn't difficult to maintain. His biggest task is (or was...) helping Lyra with hers or praying that-- Elias would probably never bother if his family didn't insist. This insisting generally comes from Audric, who will Cut If For Him If He Won't Get it Cut. He takes minimum effort in day-to-day upkeep, only keeping it free from tangles so Willow won't get caught when she's slithering about. There's a brief moment when it's freshly cut and styled by his older brother that it looks neat, intentional and styled... that probably lasts as long as one shake. Audric doesn't fight it anymore. Neither does Audun. Life's too short to keep rolling that boulder up the hill.

How I improved my hair thickness & length
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Using products for my hair type and learning how to properly apply them
I spent probably a total of about 2 years experimenting with haircare products and application techniques before I found a routine that really worked for me. I figured out my hair type, researched products and ingredients, and went through a long trial-and-error phase, making notes of what worked and what really didn’t. Now, I wash my hair religiously three times a week—any more frequently and my hair over-produces oil to compensate, any less and it ends up lank and lifeless—and I use a mixture of professional-grade products, homemade remedies, and drugstore treatments from abroad. I learnt that my hair craves moisture, doesn’t mind silicones, and although it’s sensitive to proteins, it still needs a protein treatment every now and again for structure, or else it becomes so soft and floppy that I can’t style it at all. I have to foam up my shampoo before I use it and I have to shampoo three times to properly wash it, I brush through my conditioner until it’s thick and foamy and I use the ‘squish to condish’ method for better hydration and absorption, and I make sure to use products created with my hair type in mind for best results.
Only washing in cold, soft water
I adore my hot baths so this was initially a difficult adjustment, but it’s one that made a huge difference to my hair’s shine, softness, and overall health. I wash my hair three times a week in cold (not lukewarm, not freezing) water, and then, if I’m feeling particularly brave or want super-shiny hair, I do a final rinse with ice water. You have to be careful with this last step because you don’t want your scalp itself to be too cold—a cold head can lead to all kinds of health complications—so I try to keep my towels warming whilst I shower, and it’s really not as torturous as it sounds. My university town has pretty hard water and my hometown has the hardest, chalkiest water known to man, and the only thing that really works for me is the ShowerStick. I’ve tried other water softening attachments but they’re just not as effective; the ShowerStick isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing little gadget in the world but it really does work and it’ll be my mainstay for uni and until I can convince my father to install a proper water-softening system in the house. If my hair is really struggling with the water or it’s adjusting after a period back home, then I also sometimes use the Dream Filter from Colour Wow—it’s not enough on its own to combat hard water but it’s a good boost for difficult days.
Avoiding tension on my hair
To avoid follicular damage and breakage—and so to stimulate and maintain growth—it’s important to avoid any kind of tension on the hair, especially at the crown and ends. I enjoy wearing ponytails and other styles that cause tension on my strands but I only wear them now when I’m going out, and I make sure to minimise the amount of time I have them in by doing my hair as late as possible and taking it back out as soon as I get home. Most of the time, I alternate between gentle claw clip styles, banana clips, and a firm (but not too tight) single plait down my back secured with a silk scrunchie. None of these styles are completely non-damaging, if I wore them all the time then I’d likely still see breakage, but by alternating between them (and also varying my parting) then I can change where the tension on my scalp lies and mitigate damage as much as possible.
Strengthening masks and treatments
My hair is very fine and prone to breakage, so I use strengthening masks and treatments to bolster it and increase elasticity where I can. Although my hair is almost virgin—I use depositing masks and zero-lift glazes for colour—I use products intended for colour-treated hair and find that they help tremendously with my hair’s overall strength and texture. I alternate between Olaplex and K18 on an almost-weekly basis, and I use the K-Pak cuticle sealer from Joico immediately after colour treatments. I include a hair mask with almost every wash—my favourites are the Alchemy mask from Oribe, the wheat germ mask from Salerm, and the Fino mask from Shiseido—and I like to add liquid hair treatments, like L’Oréal’s lamellar Wonder Water, Lador’s Fill-Up ampoules, and Salerm’s revitalising ampoules, to boost shine and strengthen my hair’s cuticle and cortex.
Oiling my scalp and hair ends
When I began oiling my scalp, it was a huge turning point for my hair’s growth rate. I’d always had hair that grew quickly but oiling truly made it grow like a weed. I’ve already made a post for my scalp oil recipe, it’s a complex recipe and it’s tailored specifically to my scalp and hair but the ingredients are all linked to hair growth and scalp health and it’s the result of a lot of research and experimentation. I’m not wholly convinced that scalp oiling works for everyone, I think it only really works if you have the natural hair density to support it, and I’ve heard mixed anecdotal reports but it’s worked wonders for my hair and scalp. I oil my scalp twice a week: I brush my hair beforehand and never whilst the oil is in, I warm up the oil to a gentle temperature, I use a little dropper and take my time parting my hair so that my scalp is lightly covered and not soaked in oil, and I wrap my hair up in clingfilm and cover with a steam cap for 2 hours (no longer) before I use a gentle scrub and cold water to wash everything out. This is the method that works best for me and it ensures that the oil can work at its best and be rinsed out without any residue.
I oil my ends using Shu Uemura’s essence absolue every single night. My hair ends are quite dry by nature and I’ve found that nightly oiling makes a huge difference to my hair’s softness and the rate at which I get split ends. I’ve experimented with lots of different oils, both commercial and homemade formulations, and Shu Uemura’s oil is the best I’ve found for my hair; it’s light, hydrating, and makes my hair soft but never weighs it down or makes it greasy. After I’ve brushed my hair at night, I use between a half and full pump and spread it across my fingers on both hands before I start plaiting my hair, and then use the excess on my ends after I tie the plait off. If I’m oiling my ends after a wash, then I oil twice: once when my hair is 50% dry, and again when it’s about 95% dry.
Regular scalp massage
Scalp massage is so important for hair growth and scalp health; it stimulates blood flow and circulation to the scalp, and can help to encourage clear and healthy follicles. I massage my scalp twice a day for at least five minutes, using my hands, and I use a silicone scalp massager when shampooing. I follow the ‘scalp over skull’ method for my twice-daily manual massages, and although I make sure to massage my whole scalp, I found that my hair’s growth rate increased quite significantly when I began to focus my massage on specific acupoints for circulation and hair health.
Homemade rinses
I love my homemade rinses and I never wash my hair without including a rinse. I have my rinses on a schedule in accordance with my washdays—onion juice on Mondays, ACV on Wednesdays, and watercress & rosemary on Fridays—and I try to use the freshest, cleanest locally-grown produce I possibly can. I use homegrown onions and rosemary, and watercress that I collect from the banks of the river near me, and I’m quite seriously considering making my own apple cider vinegar although I haven’t started that endeavour quite yet. With the rinses, I pour slowly and I’m careful that my whole head is covered, I make sure that my hair is treated from roots to ends, and I rinse out thoroughly with cold water once it’s worked its magic.
Never leaving my hair to air dry
I used to think that air-drying was the healthiest thing I could do for my hair, but it turned out that leaving my hair to air-dry—especially if I went to bed with wet hair, or went outside—was causing terrible dandruff and scalp sensitivity, and blocking my hair growth. I have low-porosity hair, which means that my hair’s outer cuticle is very smooth and tightly sealed, and so it takes a long time to absorb water and then an even longer time to dry again. Leaving stagnant water trapped inside my hair strand was weakening my hair and causing breakage, and when my scalp was damp, it was breeding bacteria and fungal issues (kind of like athlete’s foot for your scalp, which sounds so disgusting!) and blocking my follicles. Now, I squeeze out as much excess water from my hair as possible with microfibre towels, and then blow-dry with my Dyson hairdryer with the ‘gentle air’ attachment and the settings turned to the lowest temperature and gentlest flow. I make sure to baby my hair while it’s wet and in its most vulnerable state—I only comb out tangles with my fingers, a wet brush, or a wide-toothed comb—but I don’t use heat protectant when blow-drying my hair because I find that it’s just not needed when I’m drying it so gently and from a safe distance (6 inches). In fact, I found that heat protectant caused unnecessary build-up when I’m not using high heat and intense tools, and my hair is much healthier and happier now with less damage and and cleaner scalp.
Microfibre and silk for protection
I use only the gentlest fabrics on my hair to ensure that the cuticle lays flat and there’s no risk of damage—I use microfibre towels, and silk satin for practically everything else. Silk satin is the hair’s favourite fabric; it’s smoothing and almost nourishing, and I have silk scrunchies, pillowcases, and bonnets for when I’m sleeping at night. Non-silk satin works in the same way, in that it’s a smooth fabric that protects the hair’s cuticle, but because it’s usually made from synthetic fibres it isn’t breathable, and so your scalp can’t receive proper airflow and is at risk of fungal infection and clogged follicles. Buy the best silk satin that you can afford—mulberry silk is better than other kinds for the purpose of haircare, since it has fine, long fibres and a natural elasticity that lends it to a smooth satin weave, and the closer you can get to 30 momme, the better (any heavier and the silk will have a crisper texture that won’t soften the hair, and any lighter and it won’t offer enough support)—but there’s no need to waste money on ready-made products when you can buy higher quality fabrics and sew the products yourself. Pillowcases, scrunchies, and bonnets are all easy sewing projects and you’ll be able to put your money towards a higher fabric quality instead of paying another brand’s markups and production costs.
Prioritising scalp health
It sounds a bit of a cliché but I really do try to treat my scalp as an extension of my face. The scalp is skin just like the face and body, and I focus on ensuring that my scalp is hydrated, clear of dead skin and infection, and receiving a healthy blood flow. I avoid targeting aerosols at my scalp and use hypochlorous acid over dry shampoo, I exfoliate with gentle scrubs and use a glycolic acid toner once a week, I make sure to brush out products at the end of the day and treat my scalp with rose hydrosol to hydrate and restore pH (scalp pH should be mildly acidic, between 4.5 and 5.5 pH, and I test my hydrosols for this!), and I use oils and massage to stimulate blood flow. Although I don’t use the exact same routine for my scalp as I would for my face or body—no heavy body butters or moisturisers, for example—I try to apply the same philosophy I have for my skin to my scalp, and this way I don’t neglect it or treat it too harshly. The scalp is to hair what soil is to crops, and if you can maintain a nourished and healthy scalp then your hair will grow fast and strong.
Heatless or infrared styling
I love having styled hair and I could never have brush-and-go hair. My bouncy curls and blowouts are a signature of mine and a huge part of my look and identity, and I achieve them almost wholly through heatless styling. I’ve experimented a lot and I’ll probably continue to experiment (Victoria Casalino on TikTok is an inspiration to me and a driving force behind many an impulsive buy) but most of the time nowadays I use silk heatless curlers in various sizes to create and maintain my curls. If a style I have in mind calls for heat styling then I try to keep it to infrared styling; infrared hair tools penetrate deeper and heat the hair more evenly from the inside out, so less heat is used and there’s less risk of burning and damaging the outer cuticle. I really like the infrared thermal brush from Bondi Boost—it creates a blowout style without the same level of tension and heat damage as a traditional blowout, and my hair feels smooth and supple after using it. Of course, sometimes I do use traditional hot tools and I always make sure to drench my hair in a high-quality heat protectant whenever using hot tools, infrared or otherwise, but I try to minimise heat styling as much as I possibly can; I’d estimate that I use heatless styling techniques almost every day, infrared styling 2–3 times each month, and traditional hot tools less than once a month, and only ever for special occasions.
A healthy diet with supplements
Diet is absolutely key for hair growth; malnutrition causes excess hair shedding and in extreme cases permanent hair loss, and I myself experienced increased shedding and overall thinner hair density when I was losing weight. Currently, I try to eat a balanced diet of fresh, local, seasonal produce with an emphasis on fruit and vegetables, fats, and proteins, and my hair definitely thanks me for it. Alongside a balanced diet, I also take supplements specifically for hair health: collagen alone hugely helped with growing my baby hairs, zinc strengthens my hair significantly, and I drink a blend of bamboo, nettle, and horsetail tea every day for an extra dose of silicone.
Laser and high frequency treatments
Taking to high-tech devices isn’t something I’d suggest for a first step when it comes to haircare, but laser and HF helped so so much when I felt as though my hair’s health had plateaued. Laser is much more effective than LED therapy for hair growth, and after researching my options I bought the Hairmax Ultima 12 when it was on sale. It’s like a comb and can be used on the whole scalp or just to spot-treat, and I use it three times weekly for the 8 minutes recommend. I also bought a high-frequency comb that uses both argon and neon gases, and I use this on the days when I’m not using the Hairmax—it can dry my scalp out a bit, so I make sure to apply hydrosol afterwards, but I’ve found that it helps a lot with keeping my scalp clean and clear. There isn’t a huge amount of formal research on either laser therapy or high frequency therapy for hair growth, although there’s a little bit more on the former than on the latter, but I looked at the technology and anecdotal reports and decided to try a combination of the two. It definitely worked for me and was a huge leap forward for my hair’s density and growth rate, but I’d be hesitant to say that it would work in exactly the same way for everyone; one technology might work better than the other for you, or you might find that it simply doesn’t work at all, or has unwanted effects.
Genetics and lifestyle
Of course, at the end of the day, I also have to take my genetics and my lifestyle into account when it comes to the condition of my hair. I’m lucky with my hair’s genetics—both my parents have thick, dense hair that’s showing no signs of thinning with age, and I’ve always had dense, fast-growing hair since childhood. However, unlike my parents, my hair strands are fine (that is to say, although the number of hairs on my head is very high, the hair strands themselves are thin and fine, not thick and coarse) and delicate, prone to breakage, and I lost quite a lot of hair after a period of extreme stress in my life. My goal was to restore my hair’s health and density after going through a lot of excess shedding and hair loss, and to increase my hair’s growth rate, which was already quick but I wanted it to be quicker. It was a long and difficult journey but I’m not going to pretend that I had terrible hair genetics to begin with; my hair journey was much more a question of restoring and improving my hair rather than totally changing and transforming it.
I also have a very healthy lifestyle now wherein I prioritise lots of sleep, low-impact exercise, and nutrition. My stress levels are very low and my body is hydrated, nourished and in good shape, so my hair is able to grow in the best possible environment. If you have a stressful lifestyle with poor nutrition and little sleep, then no amount of scalp oiling and massage is going to make a truly significant difference to your hair; health for any part of your body starts from the inside, and the things I’ve outlined above were comparatively small improvements and garnishes on top of a huge lifestyle overhaul, and only worked as well as they did for me because I was committed to a holistically healthy lifestyle.

The only everything shower routine you’ll ever need ౨ৎ
Pre shower
Hair -
Scalp oiling: use a store bought scalp oil or make your own. Cover hair with cling film to stop dust and dirt while it stays in your hair for 2-4 hours.
Rosemary water: boil rosemary in water for 20 minutes and allow to cool before straining into a spray bottle.
Scalp massage: massage scalp for at least 20 minutes once scalp oil is applied, increases blood circulation which helps hair growth.
Face -w
Flaxseed mask: mix 1/2 flaxseeds with 3 cups water, bring to a boil until thick while continuously stirring then put into a container to cool. Apply to face once cool and leave until dried, around an hour.
Shape eyebrows: pluck eyebrows, if wanted use dye to define them further.
Hands and feet-
Foot spa: if you don’t have a foot spa fill a bowl with hot water, add bath salts and essential oil for scent and extra benefits
Remove any nail polish
Shape and file nails
Scrub feet: use pumice stone or another tool, then afterwards a body/foot scrub.
Body -
Dry brush: start from the bottom of your body and work you way up. Promotes blood circulation and exfoliates giving you smooth skin.
During shower
Hair -
Double shampoo: double shampoo when scalp oiling to properly cleanse scalp of oil.
Hair mask: while the hair mask sits in your hair for 10+ minutes it’s a good time to gua sha your face.
Conditioner
Face -
Gua sha: open lymph nodes, go through a gua shaing routine, then drain lymph nodes. There are lots of tutorials online to follow. I gua sha in the shower with a face wash and water. Never gua sha on dry skin it damages your skin barrier and causes premature aging, if you skin starts to feel like it’s pulling add more moisture.
Face wash
Body -
Exfoliate: use a glove, net or other exfoliating tool to exfoliate body.
Body scrub
Body wash
Shave (if wanted): use a sharp razor, blunt razors can cause razor bumps. Shave with a cream or wash, never on skin alone.
After shower
Face -
Face mask
Skincare: if you have products that you only use every so often this is a good time to use them as an extra treat.
Eye mask
Lip scrub: make your own with sugar, honey and coconut oil or use a store bought one.
Lip balm/moisturiser
Eyelash and eyebrow oil/serum: castor oil works great for me.
Body -
Body oil: apply a scented body oil straight out of shower while skin is still damp.
Moisturize: moisturise entire body.
Hair -
Leave in conditioner: depending on hair type the amount will vary, if you have straighter hair add very little and only to the ends to prevent greasiness.
Hair oil: once hair is completely dry warm a tiny amount of hair oil in your palms (hair oil is not the same as scalp oil!) rub into the very ends of your hair to help with split ends, shine and dryness
Hands and feet -
Paint nails
Cuticle oil: apply either bought cuticle oil or another skin oil such as almond oil or coconut oil to cuticles of hands and feet after nail polish is dry.
Moisturize: moisture both hands and feet, add vaseline to feet on top and put on socks to help absorption
Extras
Layer scents: mix and match the scents body washes, scrubs, hair products and moisturisers to create your personal scent. For example fruity, warm and spicy, vanilla, etc.
Pick products for your concerns: curate your products to your skin and hair concerns. Use a more moisturising lotion is your skin is dry, use a repairing shampoo if your hair is damaged, etc.
The best time to do an everything shower is on reset days, although it’s a great way to end and start the week these don’t have to be on Sundays. Of course everything showers can be done whenever you feel like relaxing and giving yourself some love.

having the most off the wall 1am thoughts about blending cultures with changbin. it absolutely canon that he's going to help you take your braids out while songs like "if you wanna" by june marieezy play in the background because you've now put him on to neosoul music and the like. the afternoon sunlight pours in through the window while he takes a rat toothed comb and works through it. in fact, changbin is one of the best people to take out your hair. he loves it so much that he takes his time unraveling your aged twists that you find gross, expired, and in need of a deep wash day. he likes to see as little shed as possible, no matter how many times you tell him a normal amount of shed happens when taking down a style like braids.
"be patient." he'll tell you, taking more of the nearby oil and squeezing it on to help him gently comb out a small knot. "wow," he'll say at the end of it all, looking at the way your natural unbraided afro sits around your face, "its sooo big." he'll add, while gently touching the sides of it as if its a fragile cloud.
changbin hopes you two have children together, and despite how much you complain about your hair, he hopes they have something similar to yours. he feels like you can do so much more with a hair texture like yours than with one like his. he likes his mane, but he loves yours. changbin enjoys going through your records and finding new gems. you introduced him to erykah badu. he's welcome, by the way. and he'll turn it into a routine for you on sunday nights. you'll hear the brief static, the touch of the needle on vinyl and then erykah's voice while you're cooking up a sunday dinner just because the weather is getting cooler and you're in the mood to do it. he will always out-knowledge you in old-school hiphop in ways you will never understand. its his passion. he doesn't just rap, he's completely engrossed in the culture surrounding it, and pays a hefty amount of respect and appreciation to your culture for cultivating it to begin with. its cute, how he pays attention to what you like. he even lights your favorite incense.
changbin isn't a stranger to good food, with his cultural background, but when he gets a taste of your collard greens and hammocks, cornbread, baked turkey legs with homemade gravy, fall off the bone ribs, potato salad, linguini and devilled eggs? he's gotten himself in the mix now and won't be able to find his way out, going into the kitchen for seconds, a compliment to the chef--you.
can't say you've ever had a partner who has dropped a plop of kimchi on collards and stuffed it in his face with a pair of chopsticks until you dated changbin. and after he showers, a towel around his waist, the mirror foggy in the bathroom, he'll notice you've gotten a new hair product, and he'll pick it up, sit down on the closed toilet seat, and read it, before he'll open the door and yell, "babe?"
“yeah?" "can i use your rosemary oil spray in my hair?" you'll laugh, "yeah its really good for growth, but not too much." changbin's hair is incredibly thick, and naturally wavy, but if he puts too much of your product in, it'll weigh his locks down, so he always has to ask if its okay first. the first time you allowed him to use your honey leave-in conditioner, he was so greasy, it stained his favorite shirt!
speaking of showers, once changbin learned what you were getting up to in the bathroom for so long afterwards; completely lotioning your body with high quality butters, he's fake offended by the intel. how dare you struggle to rub lotion onto your back when your very willing partner is there at your disposal?
and of course changbin gets carried away when he's rubbing you down with your smellgoods. when he works it under the cuff of your cheeks, his thumbs graze your cunt, and he can feel the heat emanating from it. he's definitely going to slide either his fingers or his tongue up next, giving you a reason to have to shower all over again.
your family at the labor day cookouts love him. you'll try to coax your teenage nephews to stop horseplaying when things are getting too rough in the pool, bouncing from foot to foot in the chest height water, changbin's arms around your waist. "yo, come on stop it!" you'll splash, but they're teenage boys, they act like they don't hear you. oh but they'll hear changbin.
"yah!" he starts off, brow furrowed, rattling off in korean for the first four words until he stumbles and stutters over his speech, switching back to english, "you don't hear your aunt?"
"sorry unc."
now you have their attention. "i'm not tryna be a wet blanket but if yall are gonna do that, don't do it in the deep, someone can drown."
and later in the night when you're with your cousins, drinking wine, changbin is outside, under the string lights and next to the tiki torch, seated in those cookout white plastic chairs, brawny arms crossed over his chest as he smiles, laughing at the parts of the story he catches between your uncles that rope him in on the jokes every so often.
they liked changbin the moment he joined them for a game of pool.

The Scalp Massage: The Most Underrated Hair Treatment?
Tumblr media
It's no secret that a good hair care routine is essential for healthy, beautiful locks. But did you know that something as simple as a scalp massage could make all the difference? In this article, we'll explore how massaging your scalp can benefit your hair and why it might be one of the most underrated treatments out there with hair repair products.
What is a Scalp Massage?
A scalp massage is a therapeutic treatment that involves massaging the scalp with the fingertips, tips of the fingers, or palms. The pressure and movement can be varied to target different areas of the scalp. Scalp massages are known to improve blood circulation, stimulate hair growth, relieve stress, and promote relaxation.
How Often Should You Give Yourself a Scalp Massage?
If you haven't been giving yourself regular scalp massages, now is the time to start! Scalp massages are one of the most underrated hair treatments, but they can do wonders for your hair health.
How often should you give yourself a scalp massage? It depends on your hair type and needs, but a good rule of thumb is to massage your scalp 2-3 times per week. If you have a dry scalp, you may need to do it more often. And if you have an oily scalp, you may need to do it less often.
Scalp massages not only feel amazing, but they also stimulate blood circulation to the scalp, which can promote hair growth. They also help to loosen and remove built-up dirt and sebum from the scalp, which can improve hair texture and prevent dandruff.
So go ahead and give yourself a scalp massage today! Your hair will thank you for it!
Is There an Age Limit for a Scalp Massage?
A scalp massage is one of the most underrated hair treatments. It is often overlooked because people think that it is only for people with long hair. However, a scalp massage can be beneficial for people of all ages and hair types.
There is no age limit for a scalp massage. Anyone can benefit from this treatment, regardless of their age. A scalp massage can help to improve circulation, relieve tension headaches, and promote hair growth. It can also help to reduce stress and promote relaxation.
How to Perform a Scalp Massage?
A scalp massage is one of the most underrated hair treatments. It is simple, yet so effective in promoting hair growth. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to perform a scalp massage:
1. Start by applying some oil or lotion to your hands. This will help your hands glide smoothly over the scalp.
2. Place your fingers on the scalp and start massaging in small circular motions.
3. Increase the pressure as you massage the entire scalp for about 5 minutes.
4. Rinse off the oil or lotion with shampoo and water.
The Benefits of a Scalp Massage
A scalp massage feels amazing and it's great for your hair!
Here are some of the benefits of a scalp massage:
1. Improves blood circulation to the scalp. The best oil for hair growth and thickness helps to deliver nutrients to the hair follicles and encourages hair growth.
2. Reduces stress and tension headaches.
3. Helps to loosen and remove built-up sebum and product residue from the scalp. This can improve scalp health and prevent dandruff.
4. Promotes relaxation and can help you sleep better at night.
5. Feels amazing! A scalp massage is a great way to pamper yourself and relax.

How do you know if you have healthy hair?
New Post has been published on https://hazirbilgi.com/how-do-you-know-if-you-have-healthy-hair/
How do you know if you have healthy hair?
Our hair can withstand a tension of 3.5 ounces and grow up to 30% when wet. However, only healthy hair has such superpowers. Damaged hair strands break quite easily. You may not be able to detect the condition of your hair at first glance. But there are simple ways to control it and take action to restore it…
1. Follicle test
To see if your hair is overall healthy and whether hair loss is anything to worry about, you need to check the roots first. So how is this done?
Take a strand of your hair from the root.
Examine the follicle (hair root). The normal root end of a hair strand should be in the form of a bulb. If you see this, your hair is healthy. If the root is not in the form of a bulb, your hair is weak and needs care.
How to prevent hair loss?
Follow the Mediterranean diet . A study revealed that it reduces the risk of hair loss. This diet consists of foods such as vegetables, fruits, nuts, fish, and whole grains. Try to avoid foods like red meat, sweet drinks, and processed foods. It has many benefits not only for healthy hair, but also for supporting your blood sugar levels, protecting your brain function and heart health.
Avoid tight hairstyles such as ponytails, especially while you sleep, as they can cause hair loss.
Take special vitamins and minerals.
2. Sink test
This measures how porous your hair is. Healthy hair is quite strong, while damaged hair quickly absorbs the liquid. Remember that genetics is a contributing factor to how porous your hair is, as well as heat damage and product damage over time. To find out if your hair is healthy and get the best results from this test, make sure your hair is clean. To perform the test, do these:
Take a clean strand of hair that you just shampooed.
Drop your strand of hair into a glass of water. Completely healthy strands will float, relatively healthy ones will go down a bit, and damaged ones will sink completely.
How to treat high pore hair?
Apply various conditioners and oils. They help seal in the moisture your hair has absorbed. Applying these oils to your hair is a great way to keep it healthy, especially if you have dull, dry and damaged hair. It can make it look soft, healthy and beautiful.
Use conditioner after each wash.
Apply apple cider vinegar and aloe vera to your hair to adjust the pH balance.
3. Tensile test
This test aims to check the elasticity of your hair. It basically measures how severe your hair loss is. If you are going to the doctor and you decide to have the test done by a professional, they will take small areas of your hair (about 40 strands) from different parts of your head. If 6+ hairs are shed, it means there is active hair loss. The test will give results on whether you have signs of brittle hair loss.
Break off a strand of hair.
Gently pull on both ends. If it stretches and bounces back when you let go, it’s healthy. If it breaks easily, it’s pretty weak.
How do you restore your hair elasticity?
Let it dry on its own. Using heat damages the elasticity of the hair.
Massage your hair with jojoba oil. Jojoba oil can be used as a moisturizer and you can even add it to your conditioner to prevent your hair from drying out and breaking. It also works to prevent dandruff formation. It contains many vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C and B vitamins that are great for nourishing your hair. It can even prevent hair loss and keep your hair thick. It saturates the skin with moisture: Click to read the Jojoba oil article…
Try applying some honey to your strands. It is a great natural conditioner and will retain moisture in your hair. Honey is very effective for your hair. One study showed that it can even promote hair growth, with its ability to restore cells in your scalp. If you like shiny hair, it can also provide a natural shine as a moisturizer. So if you have dull hair, honey is a natural solution to this problem. Honey also contains protein, which is important for protecting your hair against breakage.
4. Porosity test
With this test, you can determine the condition of the cuticle of your hair and understand whether it is damaged. What you need to do…
Pinch a strand of hair between your index and middle fingers.
Swipe from top to root between your fingers. If you feel rough and untidy, your hair is damaged. If you’re feeling smooth, it’s healthy.
How to treat damaged hair?
Try a keratin treatment. Makes hair smooth, removes frizz and makes hair shine.
Avoid transactions. Limit dyeing, perming, and blow-drying.
Try rinsing your hair with rice water. Studies have proven that rice water stays in the hair for a while and protects the hair from damage. It also shows that it can be good to keep your hair color longer.

Why the ancient Indian art of hair oiling is the secret to healthier hair
Tumblr media
Article from Vogue
When we first encounter Kate Sharma in Bridgerton Season 2, it's not so much her horsemanship that catches our attention but her gleaming, gloriously thick head of hair. A few episodes later her secret is revealed and it's just one of many reasons to fall in love with the Indian hair oiling technique “In Sanskrit, ‘sneha’ means both ‘to love’ and ‘to oil’,” says Akash Mehta who, together with his sister Nikita, founded Fable & Mane, a haircare line inspired by the Indian traditions and ancient fables they grew up with. “So in Ayurveda, the act of self-love literally starts at the crown." Specifically, Mehta is referring to hair oiling, a centuries-old ritual that is currently appealing to a very modern audience. In recent years, Ayurveda-inspired wellness practices have become a part of our every day lives without us necessarily realising it – drinking hot water with lemon in the morning to flush out toxins, dry brushing, doing yoga or knocking back a turmeric latte. But hair oiling remained shrouded in mystery. However, ever since the infamous scene in Bridgerton where Miss Kate Sharma is seen massaging oil into her younger sister Edwina’s hair, the practice has quietly been rising in popularity, stealing the spotlight away from simple masks for shiny, strong strands. A moment of cultural significance, it revealed hair oiling to be both an act of tenderness and familial bonding. Similarly, both Akash and Nikita recall their grandmother treating their lacklustre hair by massaging a blend of handcrafted oils into the scalp. “She would focus on the crown chakra to alleviate tension from the very roots of the hair, all the while soothingly recounting fantastic fables about India’s rich plant and animal kingdom,” they say.

Practically speaking, hair oiling is believed to strengthen and condition the hair, promote growth and rebalance the scalp. According to Michelle Ranavat of South Asian-founded Ayurvedic beauty brand Ranavat, the treatment should be practiced before taking a shower or before bed at night to harness the restorative powers of the natural oils and give strands much-needed nourishment. In terms of technique, apply your chosen oil to parted, dry hair, massaging into the roots in a circular motion to create warmth for better absorption, circulation and relaxation. Whether you choose to leave the oil on for 10 minutes or overnight is up to you. But given it's not being used as a leave-in styling product, all hair types from fine to natural will welcome its moisture replenishing properties. Ranavat recommends her eponymous Mighty Majesty Fortifying Hair Serum, infused with amla extract and a high concentration of oleic acid, jasmine and sunflower oils. Likewise, alma, bhringraj and bhrami are hand-blended into a traditional base of sesame and coconut oils in Mauli Rituals Grow Strong Hair Oil. While Fable & Mane's cult-ish HoliRoots Oil is a prewash treatment laced with ashwagandha, an anti-inflammatory adaptogen renowned in India for thickening the hair, as well as circulation-boosting dashmool and castor oil. “The head is home to our nervous system,” says Mehta. “So scalp massage, using oils that contain adaptogens, is part of a daily routine to calm the nervous system and balance energy. The ritual also stretches the hair from the roots, stimulating them to produce thicker strands.” Clearly good karma for the scalp and the soul.

Some causes of hair loss are not so serious
Introduction
We've all experienced the dreaded "curse of the hairbrush." But how bad is it, really? Well, according to a new study published in the journal JAMA Dermatology, not very. Researchers found that 84% of Americans experience some degree of hair loss at some point in their lives. And while this may be alarming at first glance, the news gets better when you learn about what kinds of causes of hair loss are actually serious—and which can be treated or prevented easily.
The most common causes of hair loss (Hairbrush)
The most common causes of hair loss can be attributed to several factors. Before we discuss each possible cause, it is important to understand that you may have several reasons for your hair loss. For example, you could have a buildup of bacteria in your hairbrush and also be brushing your hair the wrong way.
You should also know that some causes are not as serious as others. For instance, if the only thing causing you to lose hair is a rough brush or a tight tooth comb then it’s not something that needs medical attention right away. you can easily choose a Self Cleaning Hairbrush, for like this issue However if these issues are occurring along with other problems like see-through skin, bloody stools, and other symptoms then it might be time to see a doctor before things get worse!
Medications and supplements.
Medications and supplements can cause hair loss. This is especially true if you are taking any medications or supplements that have been known to cause hair loss. If you are taking any medications or supplements, check with your doctor about the side effects. Also, be sure to look at the side effects of the medication or supplement before taking it.
If you notice that there is a change in your hair growth after starting a new medication or supplement, talk to your doctor immediately.
Hormonal changes.
Hormonal changes can also cause hair loss. In women, this is especially common during pregnancy and menopause. It can also be the result of taking birth control pills or hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
Although hormonal changes are not generally considered dangerous, they can have a negative impact on your overall health if left untreated. If you suspect that you may have a hormonal imbalance, it's best to consult with your doctor about possible treatments.
Some hairbrushes and treatments.
If you're losing hair, it's important to know how to prevent future hair loss. You might be tempted to start using a new hairbrush or treatment, but it's important to consider whether or not these things could be the cause of your problem.
Braiding and extensions can pull out hair from the scalp as they are being put in place (and removed). This can lead to bald patches on your head that are visible even after you take the braids out.
Hair dyes have chemicals that may damage your scalp and cause irritation if used too often. These dyes can also cause itching and flaking around the roots of your hair follicles when applied improperly.
Hair straighteners use high temperatures that can damage delicate strands if used too often without proper protection (such as heat-activated products). This includes curling irons and other tools with similar properties that are used for styling purposes, such as blow dryers and flat irons (which are similar but less damaging).
Hairbrush
You should choose a hairbrush based on the type of hair you have. If you have curly or coarse hair, then a wide-tooth comb is best. Those with straight and fine tresses should opt for a round-toothed comb instead.
Hairbrushes come in different shapes and sizes—there’s one to suit every kind of person (and head of hair). A paddle brush can help smooth unruly frizzes into submission, while a paddle-shaped brush will give your locks more volume at the roots but less at the ends. And if you have thick hair that needs teasing before styling, try using any number of teasing combs from fine-toothed models that work great for bodybuilding up thick strands to those with wider teeth that are better suited for creating bouncy styles like big buns or ponytails.
Be mindful of your hair routine and take care of your hair!
You should also be mindful of your hair routine and take care of your hair! This means using a soft brush, a wide-tooth comb, and not using a rough bristled brush. If you have curly or wavy hair, make sure to comb your hair in the direction of the curl so you don't break them. If you notice any bald spots or thinning areas on your scalp, it may be time to change your hairbrush, we found on the market that hairbrushes can solve these issues click here.
Conclusion
Not all causes of hair loss are serious, so don’t panic if you notice your hair thinning. If you do experience sudden or extreme hair loss and find that it is affecting your quality of life, visit a doctor right away!

Protecting Your Hair from Damage: Best Salon Treatments for Dry and Damaged Hair
Dry and damaged hair can leave you feeling frustrated, but the good news is that with the right salon treatments, you can restore your hair’s health, shine, and softness. Whether your hair has been damaged by heat styling, coloring, or environmental factors, salon services like keratin treatments and hair spas can help repair and rejuvenate your locks. In this blog, we’ll explore some of the best salon treatments for dry and damaged hair, while also discussing the keratin treatment cost in Lucknow.
1. Keratin Treatment: A Smoothing and Strengthening Solution
A keratin treatment is one of the most effective solutions for damaged hair. Keratin is a natural protein that strengthens the hair, and a salon treatment can replenish lost keratin, smoothing out frizz and making your hair more manageable. This treatment not only repairs damage but also adds a glossy finish to your hair.
Benefits of Keratin Treatment:
Repairs damaged hair: By infusing keratin into the hair shaft, this treatment helps fill in gaps caused by damage, making the hair smoother and stronger.
Reduces frizz: One of the main advantages of keratin treatments is their ability to eliminate frizz, leaving your hair sleek and polished.
Improves hair texture: Keratin treatments make the hair more manageable, reducing the need for daily heat styling.
Long-lasting results: With proper care, the effects of a keratin treatment can last up to three months, making it a worthwhile investment for damaged hair.
Keratin Treatment Cost in Lucknow: The cost of a keratin treatment in Lucknow typically ranges from ₹4,000 to ₹10,000, depending on the length and thickness of your hair, as well as the salon’s reputation and product quality. While this may seem like a significant investment, the long-lasting effects and benefits make it a great option for those looking to repair their hair and achieve a smooth, frizz-free look.
2. Hair Spa: A Deep Nourishment Treatment
For those seeking a more hydrating and restorative treatment, a hair spa is an excellent option. A hair spa treatment focuses on deeply nourishing the hair and scalp, addressing common issues such as dryness, split ends, and dandruff. It’s a revitalizing treatment that can bring life back to your damaged hair.
Benefits of a Hair Spa:
Hydrates the hair: A hair spa replenishes moisture, making it ideal for dry and brittle hair. It helps lock in hydration, leaving your hair softer and shinier.
Strengthens the hair: By providing essential nutrients, hair spas improve hair strength, reducing breakage and split ends.
Cleanses the scalp: A clean, healthy scalp is essential for healthy hair growth, and a hair spa helps remove dirt, oil, and buildup from the scalp.
Relaxes the mind: Besides the physical benefits, hair spa treatments also provide a calming and relaxing experience, reducing stress and promoting overall well-being.
Hair Spa Price in Lucknow: The price of a hair spa in Lucknow typically ranges from ₹1,000 to ₹3,000, depending on the salon, the products used, and the specific treatment. Regular hair spa sessions are recommended for those with damaged hair, as they can maintain moisture levels and prevent further damage over time.
3. Hot Oil Treatment: An Age-Old Remedy for Dry Hair
A hot oil treatment is another popular choice for those dealing with dry and damaged hair. This treatment uses heated oils, such as coconut, argan, or olive oil, to deeply condition the hair and scalp. The warmth of the oil allows it to penetrate the hair shaft, providing intense moisture and nourishment.
Benefits of Hot Oil Treatment:
Moisturizes dry hair: Hot oil treatments restore moisture to dry, damaged hair, making it softer and more manageable.
Improves hair elasticity: By strengthening the hair shaft, hot oil treatments help improve elasticity, reducing the chances of breakage.
Adds shine: The oils used in this treatment can enhance the hair’s natural shine, giving it a healthy, radiant appearance.
Soothes the scalp: This treatment can also help soothe an irritated or dry scalp, reducing issues like dandruff and itching.
Hot oil treatments are relatively affordable and can be done at home, but for the best results, it’s always recommended to visit a professional salon.
4. Deep Conditioning Treatment: Repair from the Inside Out
A deep conditioning treatment focuses on repairing hair from the inside out by using a highly concentrated conditioner or mask. This treatment is ideal for severely damaged hair that requires intensive care to restore its health.
Benefits of Deep Conditioning:
Repairs and strengthens hair: Deep conditioning treatments penetrate the hair shaft, delivering essential nutrients that repair and strengthen damaged hair.
Prevents future damage: By fortifying the hair, deep conditioning helps protect it from future damage caused by styling, coloring, or environmental factors.
Enhances moisture: This treatment helps restore moisture levels, making dry hair soft, smooth, and manageable.
Deep conditioning treatments are often recommended as part of a regular hair care routine, especially for those with chemically treated or heat-damaged hair.
