baby steps | lando norris
Tumblr media
pairing: lando norris x wife!reader (plus their adorable lil kiddo)
genre: fluff
warnings: none
word count: 2.5k
summary: Lando needs a little bit of encouragement to head off to his first race after the birth of your daughter, so what better thing to do than surprise him on race day?
note: this fic can be read as a stand alone or as part of the racer girl series !
---
When you first showed Lando the two lines on your positive pregnancy test, your entire world had changed. It felt like such a whirlwind of excitement, and before you knew it you were 9 months pregnant watching Lando’s races on television. It was pure luck that your water only broke the day after the season ended, which meant that Lando had a cherished couple of months with your baby girl, Piper, before heading back to racing.
The two of them had become quite the dynamic duo in your household. From the moment that Lando first looked at your daughter, he knew that he was in love. He was an amazing father and you told him exactly that at every moment you could. It was one of the biggest fears that Lando had, being an absent father or not knowing what to do. Before you met Lando he was fully in his bachelor lifestyle, not once even thinking of kids, but now he was the biggest girl dad you’ve ever seen, giving into your daughter’s every whim. It’s exactly why Lando says he wants to give up racing all together once he sees your daughter cry for the first time when he leaves to go to the MTC for the first time since she was born - he would do anything for Piper, he would give up everything he loved if it meant that his little girl would be happy. Luckily, he had you to keep him grounded, and after more than a couple of tearful conversations you had helped Lando make peace with continuing on with his career with you and your daughter there to support him in the background. This was the first week that this was truly going to be tested though, since it was finally time for him to fly to Bahrain.
“Say goodbye to daddy!” you say as you pick up your daughter’s hand to make her wave.
You can see the way the wheels are turning in Lando’s head as he stays frozen in the entryway. He’s not forgetting anything, there’s no way he could with your packing lists that he’s used for every single race since you started dating. Even if he did forget something, he knows he could easily get someone from the team to either shop for him or send it over.
“Y/N I - , I don’t know anymore about this,” Lando mutters with his grip on the door handle loosening.
“Lan, cmon now, I can’t have two babies in this house at once.” you joke as you pinch his cheek. “But seriously, you’re gonna be okay? Just do your best out there. I’m only a phone call away all the time if you need me. You’re going to be great and we’re cheering you on from here. I’ll send you all the pictures and videos and everything so it’ll feel like you’re still with us.”
While Piper can’t talk yet, she still reaches out to Lando to gently pat his shoulder - which only brings more tears to the forefront of Lando’s eyes. He always said his daughter was smart beyond her years, able to sense things even some adults don’t notice.
“What if Piper can’t fall asleep without me reading her story? What if she learns how to walk before I’m gone? Or what if she forgets that I even exist?”
“First off, I have memorized “the Rainbow Fish” perfectly from the 7 different times you taught me it. She’s not going to walk because she’s barely 8 months old. And lastly, she’s not going to forget you Lando, I promise you that. Do you trust me?”
Lando doesn’t miss a beat when he says “always.”
You hand your daughter off to Lando’s arms in exchange for the carry on that’s currently in his hands. You know that all he needs to do is hold her, to remember that feeling of being with her so he can keep that memory with him for the week ahead. You’re not the only one who’s noticed the way that Piper always immediately seems to calm down whenever she’s in her dad’s arms. There was something special between the two of them, something so unbreakable - which is exactly what you tell Lando.
“Plus I think she’s in that phase where she’s starting to like you better, so I could use some alone time with our little bug” you tease as you squish your daughter’s cheeks. When Lando sees you cracking jokes it makes him feel a little more at ease - if you were so comfortable with this then why shouldn’t he be too? With one last hug and kiss, Lando finally walks out the door with a promise to facetime you once he gets to the airport.
Piper starts crying the second she realizes that her dad is really gone, and honestly you shed a few tears too.
“Don’t worry Pipes, we’re going to see daddy sooner than you think,” you whisper to your daughter as you try to soothe her. Little did Lando know that you had a bag packed in your bedroom for you and your daughter to surprise him at the paddock on race day.
The expectations were low for Lando in Bahrain, both from the media and from himself. He had been very upfront about having different priorities this summer than just racing, so he had been a write-off in so many people’s minds. That’s what made it even sweeter when Lando saw the checkered flag first in Bahrain, marking the very first time he had ever won at the circuit. It’s no secret that Lando had become more sensitive since he had become a dad, but when he says “This one is for my girls, I love you Y/N and Piper” over the radio, it brings tears to everyone’s eyes.
Lando is already over the moon. He gives a big cheer to the roaring crowd before going to hug the rest of the team. It’s absolutely electric and it really seems like everyone, regardless of whether they are a McLaren fan or not, could appreciate how much this win meant to him.
But the sweetest moment is when he spots you. You’re a little bit off to the side, a couple of security guards standing around you to make sure that nobody would try and trample over you and Piper. Little Piper is wearing a pair of noise canceling McLaren branded headphones on her ears as she hangs out happily in your arms. It’s like she spots her dad at the same time too, since she starts waving her arms in Lando’s direction. Lando immediately stops everything he’s doing to run over to you two. You have a knowing look in your eye, like you were just waiting for him to finally spot you both.
“Oh my god, you’re here.”  Lando lets out a breath he didn’t even know he was holding. Having you both here makes him finally feel complete, like his heart was finally whole again.
“There’s no way we were going to miss daddy’s first race of the season. Congratulations, babe”
Lando has questions of course - how you managed to pull this off without him noticing, whether Piper gave you trouble on the plane, and so much more. For now, though, he just wants to spend time with you two. He almost forgets that he’s at the race entirely, let alone that he won it until a team member comes up behind him to ask him if he’s ready to do his interview 5 minutes from now.
When Piper reaches over with her little grabby hands for Lando, you of course give into her whims as you pass her over to the sweaty driver. It also gives you a second to pull out your phone and capture the moment for yourself. Piper is playing with the visor on Lando’s helmet, learning a new form of peek a boo that you know that she’s going to want to keep playing when you get home. You’re the one who helps keep Lando on track, giving him one last kiss on his helmet before you tell him to head off towards the hoard of media personnel eagerly awaiting his appearance. When you go to take Piper back from him she refuses to budge, and with both Piper and Lando giving you their classic puppy dog eyes, you know you’re outnumbered.
“Keep her safe, Lan, okay?” It’s a rhetorical question. You know that Lando wouldn’t let anything happen to her - but it’s still a big crowd, the biggest you’ve ever been since you gave birth, and it’s a little scary to not hold onto her here.
You don’t think anyone has ever seen Will Buxton this happy as he pulls Lando aside for his post-race interview.
“I have to say, congratulations on an absolutely brilliant drive from you today, Lando - and would you like to introduce the special guest you’ve brought with you?” Will asks with a grin.
Lando can’t help the similar smile that is etched on his face as he looks at his little girl. “This is my daughter Piper, and she’s just the best thing that has ever happened to me. And I can’t share enough praise for my beautiful wife Y/N too - words can’t describe how much she means to me.I really wouldn’t be standing here in front of you today without her support.”  Lando looks back at you with a smile and kisses Piper on the cheek to end off his sentence, but Piper seems to be more interested in the texture of the mic than her dad at the moment.
“What does it mean to you to have this be your first win as a father, Lando?”
“Oh man, this little girl is everything to me - I just want to do my best on the track so that Piper can look back and always be proud to have me as her dad.”
The moment is made extra sweet as Piper tosses and turns in Lando’s hold so that she can cling to him like a koala bear, pulling herself further into Lando’s chest. She is starting to like the microphone just as much as Lando, so she pulls her face right onto it before she says her very first word - “dada”.
At first Lando thinks he’s hallucinating - there’s so many people around and there’s so much noise that he can barely hear himself think. But then Piper says it again and he can’t help but start to cry.
“She -, she- called me dada, oh my god I can’t believe it,” Lando’s in pure disbelief as he stares in awe at his little girl and looks back at you watching in the crowd. For a minute he forgets that there’s a full corral of people watching him until he hears a collective “awww” from the crowd.  “Sorry it’s just -, wow, she’s never done that before.” he says sincerely as he wipes the tears from his cheeks.
It’s now Piper’s turn to cry as she gets overwhelmed with all the eyes that are staring at her, pushing the microphone away from her as she buries her head into Lando’s shoulder. She is just a little kid, after all. Lando wraps up the interview as fast as he can, apologizing as he whisks Piper away to try and lift her spirits.
Luckily it’s time to head into the cooldown room, which proves to be the perfect place for Piper to calm down from her outburst. The antics continue there as Lando bounces Piper on her lap, pointing to the TV screen to show her all the highlights.
“Look at daddy about to overtake uncle Charles! And there’s uncle Alex, and uncle George...” Lando continues to retell the story of the last two hours as the other two podium sitters, Max and Oscar, chime in intermittently. Sometimes Piper’s gaze falls to Lando’s new hat instead of the screen, but he’s happy to have her in the room with him to share this moment.
You have to really bargain with Lando to get him to hand Piper back to you so he can head to the podium by himself - it’s only at the rational explanation of not wanting your baby covered in champagne that he finally gives in to reason. Piper loves seeing the celebrations on the podium, adding in some cheers of her own when she sees her dad jumping up and down with joy on the podium. The little girl is addicted to the shine of the Bahrain trophy in the sun and you and Lando both later joke that she likes the piece of metal better than the both of you combined.
It’s no surprise that Piper falls asleep on the car ride home - you do the same next to her as the jet lag catches up to you both. Piper still keeps one hand firmly on the trophy, having barely let it out of her sight since Lando brought it to her. Lando can’t help but feel so lucky as he looks through the rearview mirror at the both of you.
It never gets any easier - leaving. The next weekend Lando heads to the United States and Piper cries the whole day once she notices that he’s packing a suitcase. You’re honest with Lando when you tell him that you’ll see him once he gets back, there’s no way you and Piper would be able to handle all the time changes and long haul flights that would come with going to every race.
You still watch every race though, throwing sleep training to the wind as Piper often stays up at all odd hours to watch with you. There are so many moments where you wish that you could be there with Lando, especially with the season he’s having. As the journalists would say, Lando’s “dad powers” have brought him his best ever start to a Formula 1 season, as he has yet to finish outside the top 3 so far.
“What do you think is going to happen when I don’t come home from a trip with one of those?” Lando jokes as he sees your daughter absolutely enamored with the newest addition to her trophy collection. It’s the Australian GP trophy, which proves to be the perfect vessel for Piper to put her cereal pieces into. The little girl has taken to yelling as her new favorite hobby, and she shows it off every time she squeals with joy when Lando walks through the door after a race.
“I don’t want to find out, so you’ll just have to keep getting podiums, Lan” you joke back as you lean your head onto his shoulder.

Tumblr media
Maricela's POV
I nearly dropped my phone at Dean's words. "It's Sam... He's in the hospital."
"What?! Is he okay? What happened?" I pour out my questions in panic.
"He's not doing so good," Dean's voice faintly but audibly cracks. "They're running tests now."
"Where are you?" I jump in my car, ready to have the open road fly underneath my wheels.
"No, Mari, you don't need to come—" He begins, but I quickly reject his effort to be left alone.
"I'm coming whether you like it or not, so you can either tell me now or there's gonna be hell to pay after I track you down."
"You're stubborn, you know that?" He asks rhetorically before caving in. "We're at Linwood Memorial Hospital in Randolph, New York. I'll tell you more when you get here."
"Okay. I'll take a plane out there," I put the pedal to the metal, making my tires squeal as I drove off. "Be there as soon as I can."
"Be careful," Dean mutters.
I can't help but smile at his concern. "Always am."
Tumblr media
Dean texted me the room number just shortly after I landed. Once I arrived at the hospital, I raced to the room where the Winchester brothers resided. I stop in front of the open doorway to see Dean, back facing me, sitting beside Sam's unconscious body that lay hooked up to various machines.
Dean peeked over his shoulder, and as soon as our eyes met, he stood from the chair. After shutting the door behind me, I walk into the arms of the older Winchester. I hold on to his jacket like my life depended on it, never wanting to let go. My eyes shut to prevent the tears from spilling as he pulls my body closer. His warmth envelops me with comfort as I nuzzle into his chest. A sigh of relief escapes my lungs, feeling safe for the first time in months.
My serenity gets interrupted when his lips suddenly press against the top of my head. I gaze upwards, stunned at the tiny gesture, only to see how close our faces are. With his large, calloused hand, he gently brushed the hair that concealed my face away. His fingers lightly comb through my hair, triggering a brain orgasm and rendering me useless beneath his touch. I get so lost in his eyes that I barely hear his whisper.
"It's good to see you, Mari."
"You too, Dean," I respond as his hand travels to my neck. His thumb softly strokes my throat. "I've missed you."
He blesses me with a slow, small smile. "I've missed you more, princess."
With his rare affection and added pet name, I'm thankful his arm's secured around my waist, or I would've toppled over already. With detestation, I use every ounce of willpower to pull away from his embrace. With a pained heart, I move around Dean and see my best friend lying unconscious. The monitor announces his steady heartbeat while I take his left hand into mine and use my thumb to caress the back of his palm. Leaning over him, I place a kiss against his stubbled cheek, ignoring the short hairs prickling my chin. Without letting go of his hand, I sit on the edge of his bed.
"Did they tell you a diagnosis yet?" I ask, studying Sam's face.
Dark shadows cast around his eyes while a horizontal cut ran across his right cheekbone. He looked as though the life had been drained from his body.
"No, not yet." Dean settles into the chair he had been sitting in before.
I shift my gaze towards him. "What happened? I thought once he finished the trials, he was going to get better."
He shakes his head. "We were wrong." After quickly glancing at the ground, he meets my eyes again.
"Cas and I... We were retrieving a cupid's bow for the second trial to restore Heaven while Sam prepped Crowley for the final trial to shut the gates of Hell. Metatron and Cas had already killed a Nephilim for the first trial, so I called Kevin for the third. He said he found the angel trials in the tablet, but they weren't anything like Metatron had told. Then, Naomi shows up, saying he's been lying. He wasn't trying to fix Heaven—he was trying to destroy it. Cast all angels to earth as revenge for driving him away.
"Then she—she said if Sam completed the trials, he would die. 'The Ultimate Sacrifice.' Castiel took me to Sam before going upstairs to straighten it out. I had walked into the church just before he cured the evil son of a bitch. 'Told Sam the truth, that if he continued, he'd die. But you know Sammy, he didn't care. He wanted to end it, ban the world of demons. Hell, I don't blame him... but when he confessed that his greatest sin was constantly letting me down—thinking I would choose—"
His voice cuts abruptly, attempting to swallow the tears that formed away. His expression tightens, forcing all the muscles in his face to keep its composure as he refuses to give in to his emotions. Seeing him in this rare form tugged at my heart. I let go of Sam and quickly kneel in front of Dean, pulling his body into mine.
"Hey, hey. It's okay." I assure him, rubbing circles on his back. His breathing becomes shallow as I hug his stiff body. "He doesn't think that."
He grabs my arms before pushing himself out of my hold. "But he does. He would've rather die than have to face me for the rest of his life, thinking that he wasn't enough. That I can't trust him, that I would choose anyone or anything, past or present, over him."
Dean shakes his head at the foolish thoughts his brother had believed. "Luckily, I talked him off the edge. We thought the power from the trials had vanished from his body, along with his will to end them. But instead, he hurled over in pain, collapsing to the ground. I practically dragged him to the car while calling out to Cas, but he didn't answer. And that's when it happened; Angels began falling from the sky."
Worried, I inquire, "Have you been able to get a hold of Castiel?" He shook his head, his frustration evident due to our angel friend's silence.
Just then, a knock sounded at the door. Immediately, I stand and add distance between us. I walk to the opposite side of the bed just as the doctor enters the room. He introduces himself while displaying Sam's MRI scans against the X-ray Illuminator. Dean walks over and examines the scans while the doctor finally reads the diagnosis listed on his clipboard.
"The MRI shows massive internal burns affecting many of the major organs. Oxygen to the brain has been severely deprived." Dean uncrosses his arms as he begins to make his way towards me. "The coma is the result of the body doing everything in its limited power to protect itself from further harm."
He walks around me and stands on my left, closest to Sam. He stares at his brother before breathing out, "This wasn't supposed to happen."
"If your brother continues on this trajectory, the machines might keep him alive, but—"
Dean interrupts, "He'll be dead."
The doctor nods. "Technically, yes. I'm afraid so."
"So, there's—there's no recovery? I mean, there's no bounce back. There's no nothing."
"I'm afraid that's in God's hands now." I look up at Dean and watch his head tilt ever so slightly, taken aback by the doctor's remark.
"You're a doctor. You're a medical professional." Oh boy, here we go. "You're trying to tell me that my brother's life is in God's hands? What, is that supposed to be a-a comfort?" Dean questions.
My left arm curls around his bicep while my right hand rests on his forearm for support, a reminder that I was with him in this. When he doesn't seem to have noticed, I gently whisper, "Dean," moving my right hand in his own, wishing to be a calming presence in this nightmare.
"Mr. Dougherty—" the doctor tries speaking, but Dean ignores us both.
"No, God has nothing to do with this equation at all," He shakes with anger as each word becomes louder than the next.
"I didn't mean—" the physician tries again, with no luck. If he only knew the real reason behind Dean's anger.
"That's not good enough!" He shouts, no doubt striking fear into Sam's doctor.
"Hey," I tug on him, forcing Dean to tear his attention away from the man and stare at me. "Why don't we go take a breather?"
His dark eyes search my pleading ones before offering a tiny, unamused nod. I lead him around the bed towards the hallway, thanking the doctor on the way out. Once we were out of the room, I let him go. Dean's face instantly changes from anger to fear as the news sinks in. Just like Sam would, I step up to reassure the older Winchester.
"We'll figure something out, okay? We always do. Everything will be fine—" I begin, but he cuts me off.
"Stop. Not now. I just—I need time to think." He tiredly states before turning away. He stares into the distance, something catching his eye. I follow his gaze and see the sign that caught his attention; 'Chapel.'
"Do you want me to go with you?" I ask softly but get a head shake.
"Just stay with Sam. I'll be back." With that, he heads toward the hospital's safe haven.
I walked back into the room, quietly shutting the door behind the doctor so it was just us two. Planting myself in the chair beside Sam's bed, my eyes grow hot, tears welling up far quicker now that I was alone. With Dean gone, I allow the tears to tumble down my cheek, unbothered to wipe the sorrow away. Hot tears splatter against my jeans while a few run past my chin, finding refuge beneath my shirt. My throat painfully fights the words I force out.
"Please, Sam, stay with us. We'll do whatever we can, but we need you to fight. Please."
Tumblr media
I sat up straight, my head no longer resting beside Sam's hand, once I heard the door open. Looking over my shoulder, Dean closes it before making his way around the other side of the bed. I quickly wiped my tear-stained cheeks dry before he could notice.
"I figured out a way to help Sammy." He says, leaning against the cabinets.
I immediately perk up. "What—How?"
"When I was in the chapel, I prayed to Castiel. When I realized he wasn't going to answer, I..." He trails off.
"You what?" I ask warily.
"I decided to make a house call to any angel out there who's willing to help Sam for a favor in return." I tilt my head with dismay, knowing it wasn't the smartest idea but a desperate one. "I know we haven't always seen eye to eye, but that doesn't matter now. Sammy needs healing."
"Do you honestly think someone will show up to help? It hasn't always been sunshine and rainbows, so what makes this time any different? They want us dead, Dean. And you just put an A.P.B out on our heads. We can't even move Sam! We're literally sitting ducks." I could tell he didn't like my input, but it didn't matter. It needed to be said.
"Well, if anyone tries something other than fixing my brother, I'll take care of it." He answers.
"We." I correct. "We'll take care of it."
We lock eyes, and he nods in agreement. Now, to wait and see if any angel will show.
Tumblr media
After a while, silence fell between us, and hope diminished with each passing minute. Dean was leaning against the ash wood cabinets, lost in thought, when the door softly opened. An unfamiliar lady walks in, offering a small smile. Dean uncrosses his arms before pushing himself off the counter. He walked near Sam's bed as I stood from my chair, turning to face her.
"Hi," he says eagerly. "I'm just gonna break the ice. Are you an angel?"
She nervously chuckles at his remark. "Sometimes I wish I were. My name is Kim Schortz, and I'm a grief counselor here at the hospital."
"Right. Uh, uh..." He gazes downward in disappointment as he struggles to find an excuse for his direct question. "I'm sorry. I'm just tired."
She flashes him an understanding smile.
"Well, all due respect, but, uh, I'm not grieving—not yet at least, so—" I hear the sadness in his lowered voice, wondering why no angel has come to help.
"I'm afraid as hard as this may be, this might be a good time to talk..." She looks past me and down at Sam before finishing. "About the inevitable."
"Look, I'm sure you're a nice person and that you mean well, but 'inevitable'—that's a fighting word where we come from. There's always a way." I interject.
"And I am a prayerful woman who believes in miracles as much as the next, but I also know how to read an E.E.G. And unless you're telling me you guys have a direct line to those angels that you were looking for—"
"Yeah, no, I uh... guess we don't." Dean interrupts, anguish taking over his features before the realization dawns on him. "But I might have something better."
He chuckles before the first genuine smile displays on his exhausted face. "I got the King of Hell in my trunk."
My eyes widen. "Crowley?" I ask in shock that he hadn't mentioned it before.
He happily strides out of the room. A surge of excitement courses through my body, knowing there could still be a chance, other than angels, to heal Sam.
"Uh, is—is that... I'm sorry. Is that a metaphor?" The confused counselor inquires.
"Sure, sweetie." I pat her shoulder and begin guiding the woman towards the hall.
"We appreciate you stopping by. Please, don't come back. It'd be a shame to waste more of each other's time. Thanks for understanding." I say in the most polite way—given the situation—before closing the door behind her.
I skip over to Sam and pet his hair, smiling at his beautiful, still face. "Don't worry, Sammy. You'll be back soon enough."

By the way, has anyone else noticed the similarities between these three ships?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
BECAUSE I HAVE AND I CANNOT PRETEND TO BE NORMAL ABOUT IT ANYMORE
(unhinged gay screaming and rambling below the cut)
You know, "serious, deadpan gay has their heart melted by a nerdy, chaotic disaster bisexual with childhood trauma." Alternatively, "not enemies but initially on opposing sides before sun-coded breaks down moon-coded's walls and then subsequently become best friends that are closer to each other than most other people."
To start, the similarities between Lan Zhan, Cas, and Shouto:
Deadpan, cold, aloof, serious, intimidating, takes things literally
Initially driven by rigidly-defined principles/goals before having their world view altered by the other half of their ship, which in turn causes them to become more uncertain of themselves and what they want, but recognizes that they are happier and better-off for it now than they were before
They were raised in an unforgivingly strict environment where there was no margin for error, causing them to become cold and jaded in a way that covers up the fact that, at their core, they are fundamentally kind and good in a way that they don't even realize but desperately want to be
Socially awkward introverts that hate everyone but This One Person
Come across as very intimidating but are actually very soft
Surprisingly good with kids
Familial issues/trauma
They can also be identified as the "fell first" half of the relationship, and most likely fell within one of their first few interactions with their love interest
Youngest siblings
Has an obsession with a specific animal (Cas likes bees, Lan Zhan likes rabbits, Shouto likes cats)
The undisputed powerhouse of their respective series that everyone recognizes as one of, if not the strongest members of the cast
Everyone thinks they're super wise and mature, but they are actually the pettiest bitches you will ever meet
Gay and entirely obsessed with This One Person
They all have small, private conflicts about allowing themselves to Feel. They were raised to compartmentalize, repress, and conceal-don't-feel; push everything down until you are perfect and untouchable. Then their love interest comes along and upends everything and finally allows them to Feel, but because they were taught to repress everything, they don't entirely know how to do that yet, so, with the help of their love interest, they slowly heal and learn how to be more human and less like the image of untouchable, god-like perfection they were raised to be (metaphorically for lwj and Shouto, but literally in Cas's case)
(I was gonna say, "they all belong to the mile-high tall club", but then I realized that only applies to lwj and Shouto because Cas is technically shorter than Dean, lol. Though, I guess you could argue that his true form (without his vessel) is taller, but, like, c'mon)
Incredibly dry, niche sense of humor that's only really funny to This One Person
Lan Zhan and Shouto both have mothers that they love, but who were forced into an unwanted, loveless marriage by their father that led them to be increasingly isolated from their children until resulting in a psychotic break that ultimately destroyed them and drove their husbands to imprison them (Rei in the mental hospital and Lan Zhan's mother in the Jingshi)
Unrepentantly earnest and blunt with their thoughts
Completely whipped for their partner
Now! To the disasters! Wei Ying, Dean, and Izuku:
Friendly, excitable, extroverted, sunshine-y/always smiling
Near-unparalleled geniuses in their fields of interest that like to experiment and test things
Childhood trauma
The powers that be have decided that they are undesirable in some way or another, that they are a waste, disposable, an acceptable sacrifice to make in the grand scheme of things. They have all struggled with feelings of worthlessness, and have all arguably struggled with self-hatred at least once in their lives, and even if they don't actively hate themselves anymore, by and large, they do not recognize that they have value just as they are, that the only value they have lies in what they can do (or sacrifice) for others. None of them have much in the way of self-esteem or any sense of self-worth.
At their core, they want to save people.
They all have themes of being different from the negative characatures that society tried to make them into.
Extremely talkative and come across as annoying to most people
Likes kids
Reckless and jump head-first into danger at the drop of a hat
Carry feelings of guilt, have a tendency to cast blame onto themselves, takes responsibility for things that aren't their fault
They want so badly to do good, and they choose to be kind in a world that deemed them unworthy of it
Good relationships with their respective maternal figures/caretakers (Dean and Izuku with their actual mothers, and Wei Ying with Yanli)
Wise-cracking smartasses that give off dumbass energy
Bisexual
Inadvertently ends up adopting a small army of children
Deflects their traumatic experiences with jokes
Has that one female best friend that is definitely a lesbian (wwx and Wen Qing, Izuku and Ochako, and Dean and Charlie)
"Oh my God, (Cas, Lan Zhan, Shouto)! You can't just say things like that!"
They are the caretakers, the protectors, but they so rarely let themselves be cared for by others. Their respective love interests are some of the few people they feel comfortable being truly vulnerable with and will let take care of them
Unhealthy Coping Mechanisms™
In particular, I noticed a lot of uncanny similarities between Wangxian and Destiel specifically, especially in the themes and arcs that exist in both the couples and the individuals

*pretends it hasn't been like two weeks* 😎 I wanted to wait until I had more written but alas, le writers block. but never mind that, it's turtle baby Jr time 🔫 Sprays you with juice that makes you go read SomeRandomDude's Cas Apocalyptic series because it's very fun and I like it.
[Part 1]
“Hm. Well it’s not on fire,” Donatello says as he steps into the perfectly normal looking kitchen. The younger turtles keep their eyes firmly away from the cabinet Donnie shoved Casey Jr and his containment mug into. Thankfully, Casey seems to be being cooperative and quiet at the moment. Maybe he fell asleep, Leo thinks.
“Pffft of course it’s not on fire. Anyway you wanted coffee? I think April brought us some fancy stuff? I want some too, lets use that.” “M-hm, sounds good…”
Leo ignores the feeling of Donatello’s eyes drilling into the back of his head and opens up a cupboard that doesn’t contain a secret baby mutant nephew turtle. He pulls out the nice coffee April gifted them and starts measuring it into the coffee maker.
Out of the corner of his eye he watches Donatello raise an eyebrow at the cutting boards spread over the counter containing minced up fish meat and a single strawberry.
“Trying a new recipe, Mini-Mikey?” Mikey jolts. Leo is abruptly reminded of something. Donatello is, or was(?), Donnie until the whole apocalypse thing. At the very least he had exactly the same childhood.
Which means he knows exactly which brother to press.
“Oh, uh-uh-” Mikey stutters and squeaks. “I mean- yeah! I was just, y’know, I thought I’d do something a little… different?” Mikey’s head slowly sinks into his shell until only his eyes show. “Well I’ve got no idea what it might be but I’m sure it won’t… disappoint me.”
If you were to hold a lying competition Mikey won't take last place. That honor goes to Donnie followed by Raph. Mikey would sit at a comfortable third with April beating him out for second, leaving Leo to claim the title of Best Liar of his siblings. April and Mikey would tie but Mikey has one significant weakness that lets April beat him out every time. He can't stand to disappoint the people he cares about.
“You would never do something to deliberately disappoint me. Right?” Donatello grins at Mikey, all teeth. Mikey rings his hands together, the rest of his body frozen.
Leo smacks the buttons to set the coffee machine running and bolts to rescue Mikey.
He tries for a smooth slide up to sling an arm over Mikey’s shoulder but a hand catches him by the shell. Donatello lifts him just as effortlessly as Raph ever has, and keeps him there, dangling in the air.
“Mikey.” Donatello sets a heavy hand on Mikey’s  shoulder, sending his head retracting another inch. “Is there something you need to tell me?” he says it with the same voice Dad always does when he’s lying about them not being in trouble. Leo tries desperately to motion for Mikey to not give in- he can still totally salvage this- but it’s too late.
“Ahhhhhhh- DONNIE ACCIDENTALLY TURNED CASEY INTO A BABY TURTLE MUTANT!” Mikey wails. “He what?” Donatello’s head snaps toward Donnie, all but hidden behind a board stiff Raph.
“You left your lab open!” Donnie sputters, indignant. “My lab- did you touch the test tube on the desk?” “We put him in a mug!” Mikey wails, fully retracting into his shell “A mug. You put him in- Wait.” Donatello looks at their empty hands. A dawning horror grows on his face. “What mug? None of you are holding a mug. Where is the mug?”
Donatello finally drops Leo in favor of whipping around and grabbing Raph by the shoulders. “Where did you put the mug?”
“Uhhhh Donnie shoved it in the cupboards!” “You left him unattended?” Donatello yells, already ripping off cupboard doors. “My kitchen!” Mikey squawks, popping out of his shell and leaping up to hang off Donatello’s arm. “My nephew!” Donatello retorts.
Three cupboards meet their demise before Leo manages to scramble over to the correct one, yank it open, and carefully pick up the mug containing Casey Jr.
“Quit wreaking the kitchen! Look, it’s fine, see?” Leo holds the mug out in two careful hands, one under and one over just in case Casey decides to try and jump again.
Donatello snatches the mug, ignoring Leo’s hissed “Careful!” like he’s heard it a thousand times. He stares down into it, not moving a muscle. Leo doesn’t even think he’s breathing.
“...Ok I know he’s adorable but I think holding your breath is a bit-” “This is the mug you put him in?” “Uh. Yeah?” “This mug right here?” “Well technically Donnie put him in it but-” “This mug, right here, which is empty.”
ehehehehe There's a baby turtle mutant loose in the lair! No one knows what to do, least of all CJ! He's never been in a lair before! [what the vibes of the next part will be like]
[this is where part 5 will someday go, when it will come nobody knows]

Fanfic is an Art
Pairing: Dean Winchester/Cas Novak
Rating: Explicit
Words: 7835
~~
Teaching assistant Dean Winchester has a secret. He writes smutty fanfic for his favourite TV show. The last thing he expects to see is Professor Cas Novak reading his fanfic, unknowingly projecting it onto the screen for the entire lecture hall to see. Narrowly avoiding a class discussion on gay erotica, they start talking about fanfic, and turn it into a game to see who can guess the other's AO3 handle first. Maybe over something to eat?
Catch is, Dean isn't as subtle as he thinks he is. But everyone's okay with that.
~~
Dean was on his second term as a T.A. for Professor Castiel – call me Cas – Novak. Cas was a hardass in some ways, but his creative writing course was always waitlisted, so clearly, students loved him. His style was a refreshing change from a lot of the other profs. For one, he treated his students like the adults they were by this point and always had time to review an assignment. At the beginning of the term, he set out the expectations and assignments, but he didn't set harsh, immovable deadlines. His tests and projects were hard, but he was a mesmerising speaker, and his students generally followed along gratefully.
Dean's favourite thing? He didn't treat fanfiction as a lower form of writing. They'd had a few discussions about it, from Dante's Inferno to Neil Gaiman's Sherlock and Cthulhu, then there were ones like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. He even acknowledged 50 Shades of Grey's roots as a Twilight fanfic, though he sternly warned his students against using the Grey books as a guide to BDSM.
Or writing, for that matter.
In fact, Cas maintained that fanfic was an art.
So Dean knew that Cas would be cool about Dean writing fanfic, but Dean hadn't told him yet. They were friendly after working together so long, in part 'cause Dean was a mature student, so he was only a couple years younger than Cas. He even knew Cas watched the show Dean wrote fanfic for.
Still, he was a bit nervous about people in meatsuits knowing, rather than the online fandom that he connected with so easily. He was mildly obsessed with a TV series with a doctor turned vampire and his human best friend who helped him obtain the occasional blood bag. That Jake had let Ian feed from him in an emergency at the end of the season finale had prompted hundreds of fics, and Jakian shippers had gone nuts.
Dean included.
But the last thing he expected was for Cas to finish his lecture and ask that the writing groups work together while he reviewed something, only to click around on his laptop and settle in to read. Apparently, he'd forgotten his laptop was synced to display his screen on the projector screen for all to see.
~~
Read it on AO3.
thanks to @nickelkeep and RarityLover27 for the beta!

Specific implementation method:
The embodiment of the invention provides a Production process for making Organic Fertilizer series by using oil palm empty fruit string (Organic Fertilizer Production Line), which is characterized in that it comprises the following production steps:
Tumblr media
One、 Cutting: First cut the oil palm empty fruit string into oil palm fruit silk; The length of the oil palm fruit silk obtained by cutting should be 3cm, so as to increase the surface area of the fruit silk, improve the fermentation speed and shorten the fermentation time.
Two、 Add auxiliary materials and spray water: then add auxiliary materials and spray water to the oil palm silk processed in step One, the order of adding auxiliary materials is as follows:
(1) Firstly add sludge or turf soil, and add 0.1-1 weight parts of sludge or turf soil to 1 weight part of oil palm fruit silk;
(2) Add an appropriate amount of fiber fermentation bactericide and urea, the amount of fiber fermentation bactericide is determined according to the actual fermentation capacity of various fiber fermentation bactericides, and the amount of urea is appropriate to make the carbon nitrogen ratio of the added material reach 25:1-30:1;
In the process of adding auxiliary materials or after adding all auxiliary materials, the material is sprayed with water, so that the water content of the material reaches 55-70%, and the material is mixed evenly.
Three、 Compost fermentation: After adding auxiliary materials, spraying water and mixing evenly, the materials are divided into piles for high temperature fermentation. During the fermentation, the materials in each pile are sprayed with water and turned (Windrow Compost Turning Machine) in a timely manner, so that the materials in each pile are gradually fermented completely. In the compost fermentation process described in this step, the temperature should preferably be controlled between 60-75℃, and the pH value should be controlled between 5.5 and 8.5. And it is best to control the water content of the final fermented material of 35%, which is conducive to the next step of extrusion granulation (Flat Die Pellet Machine). The length of fermentation time is affected by temperature, tossing, moisture content and other factors. The fermentation temperature should be suitable, too high or too low temperature is not conducive to compost fermentation, the water content of the material should be properly controlled during the fermentation process, so that the material can achieve rapid fermentation and decomposition. The number of flipping should also be reasonable, flipping too many times, not only increase labor costs, to a certain extent, will also speed up the evaporation of material water, thus affecting compost fermentation.
Four、 Make organic fertilizer series: Finally, make at least one of the following three fertilizers from the material that has been completely fermented in step Three :

Make the technical index of the material meet the national standard of organic fertilizer or meet the demand of the soil of each oil palm plantation and different varieties of oil palm for organic fertilizer nutrients, and then make organic fertilizer by extrusion granulation;
(2) Organic and inorganic compound fertilizer: According to the test data of the fully fermented material in step Three, add an appropriate amount of inorganic material containing N and/or P and/or K and/or Ca and/or Mg. Make the technical index of the material meet the national standard of organic and inorganic compound fertilizer or meet the demand of the soil of each oil palm plantation and different varieties of oil palm for organic and inorganic compound fertilizer nutrients, and then make organic and inorganic compound fertilizer by extrusion granulation;
(3) Bio-organic fertilizer: in step Three complete fermentation of the material to add an appropriate amount of microbial microbial agents, so that the technical indicators of the material to meet the national standard of bio-organic fertilizer or to meet the soil of each oil palm plantation and different varieties of oil palm nutrient requirements for bio-organic fertilizer, and then through extrusion granulation to make bio-organic fertilizer. The organic fertilizers made by extruding granulation in this step are cylindrical particles with diameter ranging from 0.8-lOcm. This is not only conducive to soil absorption, but also difficult to cause the loss of nutrients due to rain erosion and other factors after fertilization.
