the summer weather has me going back to the thoughts of pretty girl lounging at h’s pool while he’s at work. like I can just see her on one of his chairs in her smallest swimsuit to avoid tan lines and making her way through the cute romance novel she’s reading:) and she’s been out there all day and the sun is making her sleepy so by the time h gets home at like 5:30, he can’t find her in the house. so he’s calling out for her, wondering where she’s gotten to, knowing she’s still here because her car is in the driveway. so he’s making his way to the backyard, and because there are a few clouds in the sky that have cooled it down a little bit, he sees her sleeping on the lounge chair with the book dangling from one of her hands. so he’s :))) because he loves coming home to her and she looks so pretty in her little swimsuit and he’s running upstairs to change into a t shirt and shorts (because it’s too hot for him to stay in his suit any longer) before heading outside. and his heart gets all warm and fuzzy seeing her so at peace and with a few new freckles from the sun and a little pout on her lips:( and he’s gently taking the book from her fingers and sliding the bookmark in so she doesn’t lose her page before moving to sweep away the baby hairs that are stuck to her face by the sheen of sweat on her skin:( and her eyelashes are fluttering before she’s waking up and stretching and squinting a little bit, getting used to how bright it is:( and she’s just “harry?” and he’s stroking over her arms and her legs, trying to help wake her up as gently as he can and he’s “yeah, sweetheart, it’s me” and she’s asking how his day was, and he’s “was fine, but it would be so much better if I could get a hug from my pretty girl”:))) and ofc she’s pulling herself up and into his lap and he’s smiling as he feels her skin pressing up against him and mumbling “you’re so warm” into her neck:((( and he’s asking about the book she’s reading and she’s gushing over the male lead and how infatuated he is with the main character and how sweet and kind and respectful he is and h wants to play with her a bit, so he’s teasing “sounds like you want to spend some time with him, so I can leave you to your Prince Charming in there” and heaving a playful sigh as he looks like he’s about to stand up but she’s “nononono h!!! missed you so much today, was reading something cute to distract me until you came home”:((( and he’s grinning at her and “is that so?? maybe we should head inside and I can make my sleepy girl some dinner, hmm?” and he’s tickling her sides just to hear her laugh before carrying her inside:(((( 🐢

im very sleepy rn but im still BRAINROTTING unfortunately SO sleepy venti hc rambles that spiral out of control yet again

- deep sleeper. my guy just straight up slept 500 or so years and only got up bc his bestie needs him. he will sleep through anything and everything, just straight up goes into a coma everytime. you know those small "just 1 hour" naps you do but end up sleeping for 6 hours straight. that's venti. and 6 hours is already a short nap for him compared to his uh... centuries long naps

- with that being said. you'll have to be the lighter sleeper between you both. or else you'll both miss everything you're supposed to do the next day. if you're also a pretty deep sleeper. set up alarms every 5 fucking mins. force yourself to wake up because venti will absolutely NOT be waking you up. keep that alarm outta reach otherwise he'll knock it over and then you'll lose an alarm clock and maybe today's pay if u miss ur shift.

- he's a very stubborn lil guy, and even moreso when he's sleepy. will get you to stay in bed with him for "just 5 more minutes, love?" but NEVER EVER fall for it, it's a TRAP!!!!! he can sleep the whole day away and he's got a pretty strong grip on you that's really hard to shake off (remember: he's still an archon! he's more powerful than he looks, and helloooo, he's an archer, he's got pretty strong arms even without his status as an archon).

- you'll never really be sure if it's intentional or not, though. he's very mischievous, but i like to think sleepy venti throws most (if not all) of his teasing and mischief out of the window. if u try asking him when he's awake and he'll reply with some teasing remark and you'll think he was doing it on purpose but sometimes... he just looks really really sleepy enough so maybe his brain isn't awake enough for mischief just yet?

you'll never get a straightforward answer from him eitherway. brat likes to keep u on ur toes in the strangest of ways, for the strangest of reasons

- for all of his shenanigans, if you're looking for a good night's rest, venti Does make for a very very good cuddle buddy. 10/10 very snuggly, i just think he gives the best hugs in general, so naturally he's also a good cuddle buddy. he'll likely hum a little lullaby too, and perhaps indulge you on a bedtime story should u ask for it.

- loves any sleeping position that involves you being in his arms, but is particularly fond of either of you resting your head on the other's chest! it's incredibly comforting to him to hear the steady beat of your heart, he thinks of it like your own personal lullaby for him, a gentle reminder that you're right there and that you won't fade away. (if he's still feeling a bit cheeky, he might tease you and delight in the way your heartbeat speeds up.)

- i think. maybe. venti has trouble falling to sleep but when he does manage to fall asleep he's just completely passed out like i talked abt earlier. don't ask me why, maybe i'm self projecting, who's to say.

i like to think that he's either purposely prolonging his sleep (maybe he still has some energy he'd like to burn off first?) or he just has a lot of stuff in his mind that keeps him wide awake

keep in mind that he leads a rather lonely existence. for all his merrymaking and mischief in the day, all of it evaporates at night and all that's left is the heavy burden of his existence. he's lived for 2,600 years, maybe even more, and a lot has happened since then. not only that, but he's mondstadt's archon, and most of his own people are blissfully unaware that he's there.

and because he's really got no one else to talk about it with, naturally he'll keep it all on his head, thinking about it over and over and over until he can't even keep his eyes open anymore and he finally decides to go and sleep it off, hoping he won't end up dreaming about his troubles—not when he tried his best to stay up til he's too sleepy to.

(sidenote, and maybe i'm just a bit delusional. but is that maybe why he's eager to offer up his company to us, so he won't have to be alone and think about things?)

- okay i'll leave one more lighthearted soft one to recover from the accidental minor angst i just did aha whoops

- he's very fond of helping you prepare for bed. he'll do your bedtime routine with you, whether that's bathing together, helping you wash your hair and back, brushing your hair, skincare routine... even picking out your pjs for you (and he'll insist on matchies just because you'll both look so cute together!!!)

- it's very soft and intimate, mixed in with his signature playfulness. he just really enjoys taking care of the people important to him, most especially his beloved! it becomes one of his most favorite things to do with you <3

- as much as he loves taking care of you, return the favor as much as you can please! he deserves to be the one pampered too, and it's a surefire way to get him to melt and become putty in your hands.

(when you do, pay special attention to his hair. he really loves when you run your hands through it, and it gets him extra !!!! when you brush his hair for him and undo his braids so his hair can rest and breathe too.)

Part One: Picking Flowers with Him

Note: Thank you for requesting! I know the request was only for Aether but I just had to add Zhongli! I was gonna add the flower crown part at the end of the last post but decided to just include it in this one instead. Also it’s not exactly what you asked for but I hope you’re still satisfied >~<

Aether used to make flower crowns with his sister before she disappeared. He wasn’t the best but he tried.

When he saw you gathering flowers one day, he was reminded of the times when he’d do the same with Lumine. She loved crafting the wreaths and putting them on Aether's head.

The outlander had a book filled with the flowers he saved from the flower crowns and whenever he felt down he opened the book and flipped through the pages.

As soon as he learned constructing flower crowns was a hobby of yours, he fell in love with you even more.

Seeing as Aether appeared interested in your craft, you asked him if he wanted to accompany you to Windrise to make them together.

"A-ah, you want me to make flower crowns with you?"

"Yep! Scared?" you said while smirking playfully.

Aether quickly shook his head and dragged you along to Windrise. Windwheel asters were scatted around the great tree and you could see various creatures. Upon seeing a butterfly your eyes lit up and you trotted up to it.

Holding out your hand, the butterfly landed on your nose instead. Its vibrant blue wings fluttered gracefully as it rested in between your eyes, on the bridge of your nose. Aether chuckled and walked over to you, picking up a flower on the way.

You were awestruck and you watched

He smiled as he put down the flowers in a neat pile. Once the butterfly wandered off, you sat down in front of Aether, gesturing for him to sit down next to you. You placed your flowers next to his and started removing the leaves. He did the same as you both worked in a comfortable silence.

As he finished intertwining the last stem, Aether looked up at you to see you working on a second flower crown with your tongue sticking slightly out to the side. It was always the little subconscious things that never failed to make him smile and this was proved yet again as he beamed at you.

Sensing his eyes on you, you looked up at him curiously. "Is there something on my face?" you said as you wiped your mouth.

Your boyfriend shook his head lightly muttering, "You're just... really pretty." His cheeks were dusted pink and he swiftly looked away to hide it.

"I- uhm- t-thanks," you mumbled, your face as red as the flowers you had weaved.

After picking violetgrass earlier in the day, you had taken him to Mt Tianheng. There you had laid the blossoms out in order of stem length.

He wasn't quite sure what you were going to do with the flowers but watched contently nonetheless.

You then sat down and told him to as well before proceeding to strip the flowers of leaves.

He looked at you, puzzled, but all you did was laugh to yourself and continue what you were doing.

Zhongli had been watching you for about ten minutes now. The expression he was wearing was hilarious as he tried to take in what you were doing. Once you had finished plucking off all the leaves from the violetgrass, you gave him half.

"It's simple, just do what I do okay?"

"If you insist... however I am not sure what exactly we're supposed to be doing," he said, picking up the blossoms.

At this, you chuckled once more before saying, "We're making flower crowns."

Zhongli's expression was still plastered confusion but he nodded, observing how you weaved the stems of the flowers together. Much to his astonishment, the violetgrass didn't fall apart or break. You completed the task with ease and then looked at him expectantly.

The archon hesitantly started to imitate what you had done and made this 'flower crown' you spoke of. As he attempted to lace together the delicate stems, he frowned. They were bent and some were even broken. Nevertheless, he held up the flower crown to show it to you.

You grinned even though the creation wasn't the best. "Great job," you chuckled, then placing your own violetgrass wreath on his head.

it’s literally been YEARS since the last time you were sick

if you really dig through the depths of your memory you’d say maybe you were last sick when you were seven???

it’s that or your memory is just not great

either way, you really do not want to bother anyone with your sickness so you decide to hole up in your room for the entire day

you don’t even tell levi about it because you know he’ll drop everything for the sake of your comfort

the only problem is that midway through the day you’ve become so bedridden you can’t even begin to fathom attending classes tomorrow

you guess you’ll be taking another day off

as that thought crosses your mind your bedroom door bursts open

“i...” levi lets out a long sigh and you look at him dazed from your pounding headache

you’re surrounded by scrunched up tissues and your cold meds have been left untouched

“i’m gonna get you sick too. back away.” you’re frowning and signalling with your hands that you want him out

your nose is stuffy and you’re sniffling but levi just rolls his eyes before he sits next to you on the floor

buried in your duvet you look a little like a burrito and he laughs at that

“do you know where the thermometer is? i’ll check on your fever.”

he’s looking at you waiting for an answer

you think for a second and then you try to rummage through the timeline of today’s events.

to be fair you’re a little disoriented but for some unknown reason you feel yourself get a little teary eyed

maybe it’s a mix of your upcoming deadlines looming over you or perhaps it’s missing a really important class today

but it’s so sudden you don’t even know why your body is making you act so irrationally but that’s what fevers do

“i think i” you sniff and then the waterworks flood out of you. your brain can’t adjust to the severity of your headache and your urge to sleep is higher than ever

honestly you don’t cry very much so to see the tears worries levi almost immediately

“im sorry i misplaced it.” you croak out, your voice is all scaly and weird, you hate it

stupidly you get upset about that too

don’t people sound hot when they’re sick?? why do you sound like an angry bear...?

this is not fair.

“and i’m stressed.” you blow your nose but it continues to drip despite your constant attempts to stop it

nose bright red and hair disheveled levi’s eyes soften when he sees your workbook laying at the foot of your bed

notes are scribbles in random corners and your mind map is a chaotic mess but you’re trying your best given the circumstances

god, even when you’re sick you’re working hard. you’re ridiculous but in the most endearing way known to man

“alright, lay down.” he runs a hand through your hair to fix the birds nest before he adjusts your pillows and places your head down gently

“i’m sorry i’ve lost the-”

levi’s index finger presses against your lips and he shushes you

“get some rest, please.”

you comply but not before giving him a playful glare

his warm palms move to hold your face. cheeks squished together he swipes your tears away

“i’ve got some soup on the stove you’ll be good in no time.” his soft reassurance is comforting and protective

nodding you flutter your eyes shut.

you’re unable to sleep but levi’s presence is enough to ease you even if it’s just a little you do feel better

fifteen minutes pass and levi returns he’s got you a hot cup of tea and the soup is nowhere to be seen

“i had an accident in the kitchen... so have some tea instead.”

you simply laugh it off, he’s trying his best and you’re alright with not having to be fed tomato soup

tomato soup..... it’s sick and twisted it tastes so bad

you recall having to force yourself to down an entire bowl last christmas after catching a cold

never ever again will you do that

levi likes tomato soup though that’s the only reason it sits in bulk in one of the kitchen cabinets

he brushes the mountain of tissues on your bedside table away, he’ll dispose of them later

placing the cup of tea where the aforementioned tissues once were you then realize he’s brought you a slice of madeira cake to have alongside it

at this your eyes brighten you love madeira cake it’s so soft and buttery and simple but it’s just REALLY GOOD???

anyway, you definitely recommend everyone to have some it’s a solid 10/10

at first his hands feel your face and neck

he presses his forehead against yours and you swear you could stop breathing and pass out right then and there
