So… should I write the Aegon is a ward of the Starks!AU?
The one where Alicent and Otto just get fed up with 14 years old Aegon’s lack of responsibility, his disregard for duty, and his ever growing drunken behavior and his ogling of the maids and they go “you know what? The Starks are know for their iron clad honor and duty. Maybe they can shove some sense into his head.”
So off Aegon goes, to be raised in Winterfell far away from court drama and the expectations of the Greens. To learn about duty, honor and the value of keeping the pack together. Because the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.
And the plan works. The Aegon that comes back for his wedding to Haelena years later is a changed man. One that values his family and his duty to them above all else.
Unfortunately for Alicent and Otto, however, the plan kinda worked TOO WELL because now Aegon is all
“As the second child, it’s my duty to support my older sister in her endeavors. Rhaenyra shall be crowned Queen, and I will be the by her side when that happens. What do you mean I should support our family she is family what are you talking about, mother???”
And now they can’t even stop him as he goes to Dragonstone to swear himself to Rhaenyra without making a enemy of the Starks who pretty much imprinted on the boy and are the most ride or die supporters of Aegon’s whole “Fuck That Iron Chair I Don’t Want It” campaign

I kinda wanted to touch on something I mentioned in tags, that a lot of awful aspects/tropes of how "strong/badass" women can be done well. It is hard to do it well, but it is possible. Very often it's the way these aspects are handled and/or the combination of all of them that make the character absolutely awful/insufferable. Here are some books with these things that I think are actually well written and genuinely good. There will be a range of genres and target audiences (I am only going to list the titles, and obviously the books can't be boiled down to one aspect so don't mistake it for "This is the MAIN aspect of the book/character" Also multiple could apply to these but I'm just listing them as I think of them and will only mention a book once.
Constant Quipping: Little Thieves or The Monstrous Regiment
Too perfect/Over-Competent: Graceling, The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie
"I grew up around 7 Brothers": Magyk (Quite Literally lol she has exactly 7 brothers)
Wearing Heels/Stuff that would be uncomfortable to fight in: Dragon Slippers or Soulless
"Showing Emotion Makes you weak": The Hunger Games, The Screaming Staircase, Vespertine, A Master of Djinn
The Whole Femme Fatale Thing: Killers of a Certain Age, Etiquette and Espionage, Cocaine Blues
There are a lot more but I would like to keep this pretty short.

💞 REVOLVING HEARTS — our muses' romantic relationship (Gambit and Maxim!)
“Let death come for me," I told them. Contempt filled their gaze; they labelled me crazy. Then they saw me drinking my poison from His lips, and they envied my fate.”

ppl who do mushrooms and weed bc they are "natural" (many things are Natural and doesn't mean they are good for you) will literally say shit like actually is has been PROVEN mushrooms are much less dangerous than alcohol!!!! alcohol is the DEVIL!!!!
gurl a glass of wine will never do to you what mushrooms can do to you. i've had a friend almost die bc she took "very safe" mushrooms that were legal and guaranteed by a certified shop owner that they were okay. she took a small, recommended amount. and she had a trip so bad she couldn't drink water bc she couldn't remember how and then she couldn't sober up, or eat chocolate which usually helps, etc. and she needed to be supervised bc she almost died. and other ppl in the group weren't doing so great either.

I do suspect I know a lot more about people than they might like me to by way of simple deduction and I do feel it when Elementary Sherlock is like "ugh what a drag it is to be able to figure shit out its a shame im not allowed to do heroin about it anymore"

Today I learned that LitMoR (a series I’ve been writing since 2021) is longer than THE ENTIRE DARK TOWER series. You know. The series Stephen King spent decades on.

I guess my thing with calling Izzy’s arc a redemption arc is mostly that I don’t think you get redeemed through punishment and abuse, and I don’t even think the narrative is trying to act like that’s what happened. For all the faults in the writing, I think Izzy’s arc made a lot of sense in that he simply was changed by the abuse. It’s not that he was made “better” by punishment, it simply comes across as being that “calm” period after you escape a living hell where you ask yourself “what am I gonna do now” and for Izzy evidently it was training Stede which makes sense, and I guess you could read THAT as a redemption arc, but imo we’re a little bit beyond needing or caring about an Izzy redemption by this point.

I wish I could animate because I would LOVE to have Vaste pursue someone in a zombie style chase scene; the zombie inspo needs more emphasis
