It's not.like he wanted to be here, Jesus.
Not that he'd leave either knowing where they are right now— mind you.
"And who is this, Cap?" Shazam screaming child gives a strained smile, back straight and answers.
"My colleague–"
Danny interrupts, face finally away from the glass that separates him and space. "Shazam over here got grounded by mom, and since he had a JL meeting, I was to come along as supervision."
Batman is eerily still, staring at them.
Poor Billy, he's gonna deal with this alone next time.

"I'd die for you." Billy stayed stone faced as Danny turned ghost, and that only for a second.
His water filled mouth bursts, and he chokes with laughter. Behind them, Mary put a line in their current point count of the game, it was her turn now and Billy switched with his sister.
Mary, much like her brother, put a stony face on and pretend-glared.
"Danny, your death isn't some joke," Danny raises a brow, gurgling eith the water in his mouth.
"It's dead serious, Danny." She drops the pun and– danny admits, in hindsight, it wasn't that funny.
(He doesn't get to say that, considering he spat out all the water to cackle.)
Danny Fenton and Billy Batson are best friends.
I will write no other dynamic between them.
As far as I am concerned, they are both Gen Z kids with way too much time on their hands who find way too much enjoyment in messing with people.
They get on like a house on fire and I love them

Sometimes.
Just sometimes.
Bruce, tired father of too many children, wished for a small break.
Just a tiny one.
He pinched his nose, cowl covering his head and expression and glared.
"I can't believe you snitched on me!" Billy batson, freshly revealed teen and sitting on his usual spot during meetings, hisses.
"If I have to get parented, so do you!" Danny fenton, also freshly revealed teenager, glared right back.
"Boys." Both their attention snapped to wonder woman, still tense and warry.
"Do you two have adult supervision, at least." Batman asks, feeling slightly more drained than before, he can feel Nightwing's stare at the back of his head, coming closer.
"Do the voices count?" Danny asks, to which Billy nodded. "Yeah, do they? Zeus has strong opinions, and many kids. He probably can parent, somewhat."
They shrugged both, like they hadn't just opened another whole can of questions.
"Wait!" Danny snapped his fingers, "what about clocky? He sends us on time missions, has his own lair, and lets us hang around. That counts? Right?"
The other teen nods in agreement.
(Knowing both are black haired and blue-eyed teens, he already knows Dick will never let him live this down. Deceived by children, for YEARS.)
(So much for being the greatest detective.)
(The text he sent to Alfred is between him and his butler dad.)
"Or—"
In the end, the two agreed reluctantly to stay around for a while. The Kents, the Allens, Diana, and the Waynes have opened up their homes to house them permanently.
Much their amusement, they declared, that to make no one jealous, they'd switch homes every other week or so.
That alone smelled like chaos.
Whatever, it was Diana's first week.
(And if the house of mysteries appeared in front of them sometimes, that's also between them and a very suffering John constantine.)

Can be read as a continuation of this
.ăƒ»ă‚œ-: ✧ :
Standing by Batman's side, Billy and Danny were very much standing out, ignoring that they're kids and in street clothes.
There was a curse, and the cave was flooded with various people, both recognised as Bruce's legal and otherwise wards.
Danny knows that blue bird symbol even if the vigilante was over 500 meters away.
"Nightiwing!" He cheers, nudging Billy who was still pouting.
The man in question seemed so confused.
A rough "behave" from batman, and they were both grumbling, Billy adamant that he didn't even do anything.
"Uh– B? Why are there two black haired, blue-eyed children behind you?" Nightwing approaches cautious, attention to the two now.
"You two orphans?'
"Yep!" "Yeah."
"...tragic backstory?"
A shrug and a 'so-so' gesture.
"Shit, welcome to the family then."
The words make Billy grin. "Nah, we're not adopted, as much as the big probably want to." He adds as afterthought. "It's just our week with the big bat!"
Spoiler, giddy, approaches as well. "Damn bigbat! Felt broody again?"
Danny laughs at the question, the man only grumbling.
"So, who are you two? I personally don't believe Batman would bring in two random orphans to the Batcave."
Their attention is now on Red Robin, who's idly playing with his staff.
"Well, I'm Danny! Danny Fenton."
Matching his mischievous grin, Billy gestures to himself. "Billy, Billy Batson."
"Stop being menaces and go on." Batman nudges the two, cowl resting somewhere and his brow is raised.
"You hurt us, Bruce!" Billy shakes his head. "And here I thought you of all people would take these secret identities serious!"
Somewhere someone mutters a 'of course they're vigilantes' and it has them grinning even bigger.
"Alright, we will tell you! Since we got busted not long ago anyway."
Two white rings split across his abdomen and reveal Phantom. Justice League member Phantom.
"I'm also known as Phantom!" Danny– Phantom!?— re-introduces, then gestures to Billy.
Getting into position, the teen with a feral glint in his eyes shouted. "Shazam!"
A bolt of lighting hits the cave– now wasn't that a freaky thing?— and Captain Marvel stands where Billy was.
"Captain Marvel, to your assistance."
Oh my god they are child heroes.
"We managed to trick the Justice League only for so long, unfortunately."
"Was amazing tho!"
"Definitely."
Oh my god, they were child heroes that managed to trick the big three.
(Silently, dick bemoans that they're gonna fit right in in their chaos, but now he got more brothers to spoil so yay?)

"The grownups gone?"
Danny pushes his ear against the door, tongue sticking from the corner and giving Billy a thumbs up.
"Gone!"
"Fuck yes!" They cheer for a moment before being prompted for plans.
This is a meet-up between youngest JL "children" members and only them. Phantom and Shazam always get going after a mission with the adults, claiming to have business and hiding.
The last meeting up got to a city wide gotham chase with batman at night AND Bruce wayne in the mornings, after two blue eyed, black haired teens.
Previous to that one, they always popped up in Lois Lane pictures, cackling whenever superman found them in each published article from his wife.
Today they decided to go after the flash.

If danny was in his I'm not mad but I'm disappointed elderitch ghost king form, he be the tallest out of all the justice league while he crossed armed watching space from mere inch away from the glass looking more tired and worn out then ever.
One brave soul possibly the flash would asker why is Shazam grounded?
Danny would just say "someone clearly forgot not to start a fight during family bonding after death day."
It's not.like he wanted to be here, Jesus.
