Curious if anyone would be interested in a plot similar to the world Detroit: become human or blade runner! Big into world building as well and love the idea of that universe. I have never written anything like it before and am SO curious. I’m massively into world building as well so if you’re interested in that, that’s also a plus for me! This would be a dystopian/sci-fi/thriller type plot involving droids disguising as humans or hiding to avoid deactivation. This could take place before or after bots are found to be becoming deviant. Whether you’d prefer a role as a human or a deviant/droid is up to you! Definite plus if you’re familiar with the the game or film 💛
This plot would be 21+ and contain fairly dark themes. I am interested in playing female and male roles, but would prefer I wasn’t designated strictly male for all. I do f/m and f/f ships, I would do m/m but I am not capable/confident in my ability.
I prefer novella/doing 3+ paragraphs in a reply. Please feel free to like this post and I can reach out! Even if it’s just to discuss the universe. Thanks!

I was skeptical when Free League announced their Alien RPG, yet it became one of my favorite horror RPGs. Like, instantly. The Blade Runner franchise is less picked over — two movies, both of which I enjoyed, an animated series I’ve not yet seen, some book and comics that don’t cast a terribly long shadow. And yet, again, Free League announced an RPG and I was skeptical (note that in both these cases, skepticism did not prevent me from, you know, buying the games).
This is the Blade Runner Starter Set (2022), which, like Alien, has a light version of the rules, dice, cards and a cinematic scenario, complete with a rather decadent envelope of handouts. The production value here is very high — this was probably Free League’s finest looking product until the release of Dragonbane, and even then the margin is narrow.
The system is a modified Year Zero. This is the first time it’s used different valued dice, but success is still a 6, so higher value skills have greater chances of success. The rest of the system seems pretty generic — combat is essentially unchanged from the last few YZE games I’ve read, there is a stress mechanic, and so on. There is a cool chase mechanic, where each sides selects secret maneuvers and the GM pulls a random obstacle, then all the participants hash out a resolution, then resolve or continue the chase from there. There is a lot of framework for investigation, too — a digital assistant, ways to leverage assets and so on.
It all feels good but I’m still a little unsure. It didn’t have that magic a-ha that Alien did. I want to see it in play, and I’m not sure when I am going to get it to the table. It’s handsome though, and nails that early cybernoir aesthetic squarely — its so smooth and dreary and rainy it almost seems like an entirely different genre than other modern cyberpunk games. If for nothing else, I appreciate it for that. On the other hand, the only character class is “Cop,” which doesn’t feel good at all.

The year is 2124. Synthetic humanoids, also known as Synths, now make up 10% of the population. Composed of both metal and synthetic organic material with minds that can be programmed. The question now becomes what truly makes you, you?Currently daily affairs are heavily influenced by corporations looking to increase profits and power. The local Mafia, though, has made great strides in managing to find more legal methods of building their influence, especially with the lower classes. With several big players fighting for control of the Metroplex, it's anyone's guess as to who will emerge the victor, or if a new competitor could topple them all…
Cyberplex is a mature (18+) science fiction and dystopian roleplay set in Dallas-Fort Worth in the year 2124. It is heavily inspired by the tabletop game Eclipse Phase and various other sci-fi works such as Blade Runner, Altered Carbon, Gene of AI, Brave New World, etc. It covers themes of corporate greed, bodily autonomy, and what it really means to be human. We are a semi-plotless group with a strong focus on character building and development.

Do you write fan fiction? If so, what fandom(s)?
Me? Wow uhhh well, yes, I do actually. It's just none of them are on here. Yet. I've taken on really big projects all at once, and it's taking a while. They're like novel-sized, especially my Endgame rewrite (which is almost finished!)
And I've written some one shots for a friend on here who shall remain nameless because that would spoil the surprise.
I'm working on doing more one shots though because it's a good exercise and I like to write and they're so much easier for me to do.
Plus I've been roleplaying for like 5 years now, which is its own brand of fanfiction.
Anyway, that's neither here nor there, sorry I'm rambling.
So fandoms, yeah, here we go. Marvel, Barbie, Blade Runner 2049, The Gray Man (yeah there's a bit of a theme) and I used to write some Star Wars as well. Oh wait, yes, I used to write some Once Upon A Time too. I made up a OUAT/Hobbit crossover once. Man, I had forgotten all about that.
So yeah, any of this interest you, Anon? I'm surprised and pleased by your question.

Hello! This is going to be a bit of a niche ad for those who are into Back to the Future, Blade Runner, TRON, or cyberpunk au’s in general and also like Joe Keery. I’m looking for any of the au’s mentioned previously for a couple of my Joe Keery oc’s; I have several ideas for each, ranging in heaviness of the content matter for the different plots. I am open to any gender pairings: fxm, mxm, mxnb.
My only requirement is writing partners who are 25+. I am 30F and can write anything from short form to advanced and mainly use Discord for roleplaying (with Tupper), but can also use Tumblr if that’s preferred. My activity is a bit slow due to work and other things, so I would appreciate some patience on that part and will extend the same courtesy! If interested, please like this post and I will reach out (:

💫🌟🌌 A Field of Stars 💫🌟🌌
Written for the aib server prompt: Sci-Fi AU
Tumblr media
The dark helmet had felt like his very own prison at first. Restricting, suffocating, severing him from the rest of the universe. Now? The helmet was as much a part of himself as his own face.
Even if he wasn’t constantly on the run, it was probably for the best if he concealed his identity. As a Ronin, a mercenary, Vessel’s activities weren’t precisely legal.
Vessel.
That name had come to him like an unwanted gift, the night he had escaped. He’d snuck into a merchant ship, a spatial stowaway; there, crouched behind crates stamped “BESSEL”, the word got ingrained in his head so much that when he arrived at a customs outpost he muttered it as his name. The officer wrote “Vessel”, so Vessel he became.
It was very late when he arrived. Home. The only place he would ever call so. Neon.
‘Where it all began,’ Vessel muttered to himself.
Years ago, he’d been a Neon Street Rat through and through. Born in the Underbelly, he couldn’t even say he resented his luck back then. It was a simple life but he was happy to have his family and that was that. He started working for Xenofresh Corporation when he was still a teenager, Vessel and his father hoped they could work hard enough, save enough, to give Vessel’s younger sister a better life.
If he sometimes wandered all the way to Bayu Plaza to pickpocket unsuspecting tourists, well, they were to blame. Partially. ‘Fools and their credits are easily parted,’ his father often said, and Vessel had to agree. Not long after, his skills also included lock-picking. But even then, he made a point never to take from anyone in need, no, just from those people who treated his city as a dumpster where everything went.
And then one day someone noticed him, his potential, as they put it, and they offered Vessel a job. If he’d known what that meant, he wouldn’t have accepted.
The Crimson Fleet.
They’d introduced themselves as “independent merchants”, “adventurers with special interests”. Pirates, they were pirates. And Vessel had been fool enough to join blindly, not knowing that death would be the only way out.
The first few years went by, and while Vessel didn’t actively participate in the capture of ships, he did take part in the looting, telling himself that this was just a “redistribution of wealth”, hell, he was starting to sound like them.
Still, little by little the implications of his choice of life started bothering him and, although he wasn’t opposed to violence at first, he found himself very much opposed as the violence of the attacks escalated, especially when it was directed toward simple merchants or explorer ships. But he did nothing. He could do nothing.
Fifteen years later, he found a chance to leave.
Neon wasn’t a safe place for Vessel to be, no planet, no system was. He could run, but he couldn’t hide. The Crimson Fleet didn’t take desertion lightly, Vessel’s former captain put a price on his head when he noticed Vessel had left. If that wasn’t enough, his former association with pirates meant he was also wanted by the UC and probably every other faction.
That was why he needed to keep moving, going from one planet to the next, all over the Settled Systems. He could never stay still for too long or someone would catch him. Running and his helmet were the only two constants in his life.
But he couldn’t help it, he had to return to Neon every few months, for the same reason he had left in the first place: his family. Vessel still sent them credits whenever he could, in intricate ways that could never be traced back to him. Being a mercenary meant he didn’t exactly have a stable income, but he got by alright.
Vessel walked unhurriedly under the neon lights, letting people jostle him to and fro. He wouldn’t visit his childhood home, the home where his parents still lived. He wouldn’t bring danger to their door. Instead, he made his way to the Astral Lounge. The bartender there was his “friend”, which meant he told Vessel about the city, about his family for a fee. That was how Vessel had learned that his sister was apparently dating the club’s dancer. Vessel hoped to see her–without letting her see him–before he left. He had a job to do somewhere else.
As a blade-for-hire, Vessel preferred jobs for people who truly needed help. But he wouldn’t turn down a well-paid job when the opportunity arose.
Redemption? No, Vessel didn’t believe such a thing could be achieved, it felt out of reach. He didn’t want to be considered a hero. All he wanted was to help others, to take care of his family even if it has to be from afar. If those that wanted him dead caught up with him, all he hoped was that he would be able to take more than a few of them with him. Other than that, what more could he ask for?

roleplay req | mxf / maybe mxm | advanced lit / novella | multigenre, dark, proship
novella / advanced literate | 4k to 25k characters per response | MxF and rarely MxM | original, rarely Fandom | dead dove: do not eat | proshipper | writer, artist, and enjoyer of unconventional things.
✦ ۰ — hi. i am 21f and go by graves/auron. i'm a rather picky writer, and these days i mostly take on plots that really interest me and challenge me in some way. i'm not really fond of excessively cliché things, and will typically always choose the less conventional ideas and options. i know that means that my general appeal is more niche, but i'm more interested in depth than finding a large number of partners.
✦ ۰ — if you're interested in roleplaying with me, i ask that you please read the google doc i've attached. it contains most of my preferences and should give you an idea of whether we're compatible.
the doc contains extensive info on the topics i'm interested in writing, along with genres, and many more important bits.
✦ ۰ — i do have pre-existing characters i'm currently focusing on. They're in my gdoc, too.
✦ ۰ — i write original plots and characters, but my current inspiration lie around the following media; The Matrix, Cyberpunk 2077/2020, Leon: The Professional, Supernatural, The Neon Demon, Blade Runner, Fallout: New Vegas, and others.
Thanks for reading!

Hello! 💫
Looking for new rp partners who are over 21 y/o and enjoy writing more detailed literate/advanced literate (to novella) posts. Private discord servers, tupper and irl faceclaims (actors, musicians, etc.) preferred. Mainly mxm pairs, but open to other constellations if we have multiple characters.
What kind of rp do I want specifically? A plot with OCs along the lines of Detroit: Become Human or Blade Runner! Can be set in either of those universes or we come up with our own, both is fine. I just want some androids, focusing on their daily lives and how they fit into a society where they are (not yet) equal to humans. Their interactions with differents kinds of humans, their struggles, androids deviating from their original programming, etc.
Ideally I'd love to have multiple characters (androids, humans, varying ages and stances towards each other, etc.) so we can write different dynamics.
Can include 🕊️ dead dove themes for certain dynamics, but must be discussed beforehand. Same goes for smut.
Like this post and I'll reach out :)

D&D : Tabletop RPGs :: Marvel : Movies
D&D is harder to learn than many games. It’s easier to learn than many games. It’s great for creating certain kinds of stories. It’s not so good at creating other kinds of stories. It’s a good on-ramp to tabletop roleplaying for some people. For others, not so much.
I don’t have anything against D&D—it’s how I got into the hobby. I don’t have anything against Marvel movies either. I really enjoy some of them.
But there are so many kinds of stories that can be told through film, such a wild variety of experiences to be had. Some of them don’t even feature superheroes. Imagine if Marvel produced every movie, from Chef to 1917 to Nope. It’s not an insult to say Marvel wouldn’t be the best outfit to create those films.
So when I say there are dozens upon dozens of fantastic alternatives to D&D (and D&D mechanics used in other games), that’s what I mean. It’s not a knock on D&D, it’s a shout out to all those marvelous games that provide experiences D&D just can’t.
And one of the absolute best thing about giving other games a try is that after trying even one or two, picking up new games gets easier and faster. I’m not saying everyone needs to sample a wide variety of games. But once you start exploring the world beyond D&D, it’s pretty hard to stop. It’s a big, big, big world.
