Gotta make macarons for my niece’s grad party and she gave me two flavors and four colors so I’m trying to figure out what flavors to do. I’ve got a dusty pink, dusty blue, light yellow, and a light olive green. She requested strawberry (pink) and raspberry (yellow) and I figured vanilla (blue) was a safe bet for another flavor. That leaves me with green. Help?

For the record, matcha and pistachio have both been vetoed but would have been the obvious choice. I’ve also made chocolate ganache filled macarons green in the past so I’m sure it sounds weird but it’s kind of just an easy crowd pleaser flavor like vanilla.

omg so yummy and fruity. reminds me of fruit snacks. getting jolly ranchers and starburst from this and i fckn love it.

2. pink sugar

fluffy, clean and sweet. so so pretty to smell like. loved to mix this one with eos strawberry dream. the definition of sweet without necessarily being gourmand or fruity. yum.

3. brown sugar baby

smells like a hot brown sugar latte with heavy cream and cinnamon sugar. i love this so much i’m about to wear tf out of it this fall.

the first thing i thought of was easter basket. super sweet candy smell. this may sound silly but it smells blue. like the color sky blue. almost like a blue raspberry. i love this one so much.

cake batter and isn’t overly sweet. just rich and gourmand-y. haven’t used it yet but the smell alone tells me i’ll be using it with a lot of my favorite “bakery” scents.

6. birthday cake

“smells like rich and sweet birthday cake. moist, yellow cake with a rich, sweet butter cream frosting. you'll almost want to eat it! (please don't!)”

super similar to angel cake with a thick air of sweetness of the cake batter. this one is a hit for me and imma use this up so soon i can already tell.

7. cinnamon buns

“smells like ooey-gooey warm cinnamon rolls with vanilla buttercream frosting.”

i used to work in a cafe and when i went to smell this i got a strong memory of “cinnamon dulce”. i love love love this one i’ve used this one quite a bit since i got my second haul. a pure cinnamon and syrup scent.

8. strawberry vanilla macaron

“smells like sweet strawberry and rhubarb blended with creamy vanilla and spun sugar. hints of butter frosting, red berries, caramel, vanilla ice cream, and macarons.”

a strawberry glazed donut. strawberry, icing, and vanilla. so yummy.

9. sugar cookie

“smells like the perfect sugar cookie with buttercream frosting! notes of powdered sugar, butter and fresh cream!”

a less overwhelming take on “birthday cake”. slightly warm. everything the “sugar cookie” perfume oil should have been.

10. strawberry shortie

reminds me of strawberry shortcake by canvas beauty in the sense that it smells like fake sweet strawberry and i love love love it soooo much. smells like an old strawberry shortcake lip balm from childhood.

think of the smell of grape soda. definitely similar to black raspberry vanilla by bbw (one of my all time favorites). it has the heaviest candy like smell and it’s even better layered with other fruity scents.

perfume oils:

1. sugar cookie

i have to be honest. i didn’t like this at all. i got the creaminess but that was it. it smelled sort of sour. but luckily this is the only thing i’ve tried that i didn’t like from the brand. so on we move.

2. pink sugar

“smells like sweet sugar, vanilla, custard & marshmallow”

the scent smells like the color pink if that makes any sense. very clean and sweet. like sugar and powder blended together. it’s one of my favorites!

3. cozy sugar

“smells like warm vanilla sugar: intoxicating vanilla, white orchid, sparkling sugar, fresh jasmine and creamy sandalwood.”

warm, sweet, and almost synthetic. it almost reminds me of strawberry dream by eos. i can’t wait to layer her with my gourmand perfumes.

4. pumpkin pecan

“smells like belgian waffle, creamy pumpkin, butter pecan, walnut, maple & fall spices.”

sweet with an undertone of spice. so buttery and yummy. i don’t get too much pumpkin but cinnamon is sticking out to me. i literally love it and i’m so glad to have it in my fall collection.

5. whipped berries

“smells like berry, whipped vanilla and peach blossom”

baby powder and mixed berries. pretty clean and not overwhelming at all.

6. flower fields

“smells like fresh flower fields! star notes: freesia, green leaves, tuberose, jasmine sambac, egyptian jasmine, rose de mai, peach, oakmoss & cedar.”

straight florals. no other families of fragrance and honestly i love it. makes it super nice to layer or amplify other florals i have (and help dial back the sweetness of some sweet florals i love). reminds me of chanel chance.

7. whipped spice

“smells like whipped vanilla cream, cinnamon, honey & corriander.”

immediately thought of almond blossom and oat milk by vs. i don’t get too much spice from this. rather a lactonic sweet and creamy smell. i personally love the honey and think it’ll be perfect for fall.

8. fruit snacks

“smells like citrusy, juicy, sweet fruit! star notes: raspberry, citrus, candy & rose.”

my absolute favorite of them all. i wear it nearly daily. such a sweet fruity gourmand. has a candy quality to it. if you like any sweet mists by bbw you’d love this.

9. vanilla bean

“smells like whipped cream, vanilla, caramel, chocolate, musk & benzoin”

a clean but rich vanilla. reminds me of a vanilla deodorant. then there’s a warm kick to the bottom notes. i love it.

10. cake pop

“smells like soft, sweet & fluffy confetti cake”

powdered sugar and sprinkles. cake pop is a fitting name when you think of the icing and sprinkles a cake pop has. i wore this out with sweet like candy and it brought a deeper layer to the ari perfume. but other than for layering, i don’t reach for it too often.

11. strawberry cake

“smells like fresh strawberries & fluffy shortcake and whipped cream.”

imagine if bubble bath by maison margiela and strawberry pound cake were mixed and that’s what this gives to me. candy with a bit of a fresh, clean note.

12. white mocha

“smells like white chocolate, cozy cappuccino, vanilla orchid, and white tonka bean.”

mocha is chocolate but i didn’t get any chocolate from this but what it does smell like is something you’d get a coffee shop around christmas time. just not chocolatey. marshmallow-y. sweet but not overwhelming. VERY long lasting.

13. warm cream

“smells like light & sweet vanilla backed by a rich and heavy amber. an exotic, creamy vanilla scent.”

another one of my favorite oils. sugary with a bit of noticeable amber. lasts super long and is extremely versatile.

14. soft vanilla

“smells like soft, sweet & warm vanilla and musk.”

barely there. a clean vanilla scent. tiny bit of sandalwood. i think it would layer so well year round.

15. vanilla powder

“smells like soft vanilla orchid, warm cashmere, golden amber, and light florals. a clean vanilla scent.”

extremely similar to vanilla bean but stronger and creamier. also reminds of armani my way’s bottom notes.

Oh quite the little songbird you are! You are aways humming a tune, either one you made up yourself or whatever catchy jingle played on the radio. You were cleaning the counters with your back facing towards Kaiser, who was asleep on the leather plush couch. He was originally watching some some documentary, probably about halfway through by now. He gently woke up to the lovely sound of your singing. He hadn’t heard this song before, so he assumed you wrote it—after all you were quite creative with lyrics Kaiser remembers. The tune of course sounded heavenly from your divine voice, but rather than your sacred tone causing him to pause, it was the lyrics. 

“I still remember, 3rd of December, me in your sweater. You said it looked better on me than it did you.”

December 3rd? Kaiser paused, thinking back.  You and him ordered takeout and watched some shitty Christmas movie you insisted he HAD to watch, trying to get him into ‘The Christmas Spirit’. He didn’t remember lending you his sweater, though he could easily imagine you making that up. What he did remember was telling you just how good you looked when you wore his clothes.

“Only if you knew, how much I liked you, but I watch your eyes as she walks by”

Kaiser blinked, who?

Was this song about him? Who else could it possibly be about? Were you speaking in the third person? Kaiser’s mind was still foggy from just waking up, but confusion crept in as he tried to figure out what your song really meant. He had no interest in any other women, and when they tried to get his attention, he shot them down without a second thought—his cruelty in that department was practically legendary.

Empathy? Yeah, that wasn’t exactly his strong suit.

His gaze only falls upon you and you alone…Are you doubting that?

You’re scrubbing away at some crusted pink filling on the counter, headphones in and jamming out to your tunes. You had tried your hand at making raspberry macarons a few hours earlier, just for fun—though they hadn’t exactly turned out as expected..

Completely unaware of the man hovering behind you, you continued scrubbing the counter, blissfully focused on cleaning.

You aggressively rub against the hard surface, putting more pressure into your palms.

You turned your head slightly to the left, only to get absolutely jumpscared at the sight of Kaiser standing directly behind you.

You shriek, stumbling around and slam your hand on the edge of the counter, other hand clutching the scrub daddy tightly close to your chest.

“MICHAEL!” you screech, throwing the sponge at him in a startled fury.

“What the hell?! Dude, don’t just ominously stand behind people! Jerk!”You sneer, putting your AirPods back into their case.

Kaiser rolls his eyes and scoffs, “You knew I was there, don’t be over dramatic,” “What— ‘Over dramatic?’—Have you met yourself!?—“ “What did you mean by that,” He interrupts, eyes pointed questioning down at you.

You snort, “Oh I’ll tell you exactly what I meant, you literally are the most dramatic person I have ever—“

“Not that, what you were singing or whatever,” Kaiser interrupts, again, his sharp blue eyes narrowing as he leans closer, arms crossed like he’s interrogating you. “Who are you talking about.”

“..Huh..? No one?” Your face scrunches in confusion for a split second before subtle realization hits “..Heather??” You say, more as a question.

“And who is Heather?“ Kaiser’s tone is sharp, his accent making the name sound even more accusing. His eyes narrow as he looms over you, arms crossed like you owe him a detailed explanation.

You stare at him, dumbfounded. “No- no one?? Mihya it’s a song,” You blink at him. Is he serious? You try not to laugh at the absurdity of it all, but it’s hard when Kaiser, Michael freaking Kaiser, looks genuinely invested—like he’s unraveling some grand conspiracy. 

He didn’t look convinced. “You sure?” He asks unimpressed.

Why is he even taking this so personally? you wonder, side-eyeing him as he stands there, arms crossed, waiting for an answer like a prosecutor grilling a witness. Does he not realize how ridiculous he sounds right now?

Then, it clicks.

“Wait, hold on,” You question, a snicker escapes your throat, which Kaiser raises his brow to you. “You thought—You thought I was singing about you?” you laugh in disbelief, doubling over as the realization hits you.

Kaiser stiffens, the faintest hint of red dusting his cheeks. He scoffs, looking off to the side as if the wall suddenly became the most fascinating thing in the room. “I didn’t think anything,” he mutters defensively, his arms crossing tighter over his chest.

Your laughter only grows louder, and you clutch your stomach, trying to catch your breath. “Oh my gosh, you did! You actually thought I was singing about you! That’s why you’re so worked up!”

His jaw clenches, and he glares at you with a mix of embarrassment and irritation. “I was just… verifying,” he huffs, his reaction so uncharacteristically flustered that it makes you laugh even harder.

You wonder just how far his ego can stretch. He probably thinks every sad love song is about him. Heaven forbid anyone in this world not be infatuated with Michael Kaiser. Including Conan Gray.

“Verifying?” you repeat, wiping a tear from your eye. “Mihya, you were practically interrogating me! Over a song!”

He clicks his tongue, and leans down to your level. “Well, excuse me, the way you were singing made it sound personal.” he shoots back, his voice sharp but his face still tinged with pink. “How was I supposed to know it wasn’t about me?”

You snicker, shaking your head. “Michael Kaiser, you’re so full of yourself it’s honestly impressive.“

Kaiser scoffs, his posture straightening as he adjusts his arms, trying to look unaffected. But there’s a faint, almost imperceptible shift in his expression—an acknowledgment that, maybe, you’re onto something.

You step closer, your grin only growing wider. “Awwww, Mihyaaa, did I mess with your head? Naaawww, I’m sorry—” you coo, leaning into his space dramatically, batting your eyelashes in mock sympathy.

Kaiser rolls his eyes, scoffing as he leans back against the counter, clearly unimpressed. “Pfft. You’d have to try harder than that.”

“Oh, really?” you tease, your voice dripping with playful sarcasm. “Because it kinda looked like you were panicking over a fake love triangle just now.”

He clicks his tongue, standing upright and towering over you slightly, his smirk sharp and confident again. “Please.”

You roll your eyes, knowing he’s out of cards decked up his sleeve yet refuses to admit defeat. His ego would never allow it.

“Mm, maybe I should write a sad love song about you. Would that cheer you up?” you tease, a soft giggle escaping as you lean against the counter.

“Don’t flatter yourself,” he retorts, though his tone lacks the usual bite.

You tilt your head, grinning now. “I looooovee you and I know you looooovee me Mihya~,” you say, sing-song, watching the way his jaw tightens ever so slightly.

“I don’t love anyone,” he fires back smoothly, but the corner of his mouth betrays him, quirking up just enough to give him away.

You snort, “Oh, it’s like a dagger to the heart, really,” you say, feigning offense as you pull away from the close distance, one hand dramatically clutching your chest. Before you can retreat further, Kaiser’s hand catches your wrist and pulls you back effortlessly, bringing you closer than before. The motion is so sudden that you nearly stumble into him, and his smirk is practically dripping with amusement.

“So, when’s that sad unrequited love song about me coming out? Hm? I’m curious to hear how it ends.” Kaiser slyly quips.

“If I’m writing a song about you, it’s going to be about how insufferable you are.”

“Looking forward to hearing it, liebe.”

You press a quick kiss onto his expecting lips, and swat at him lightly. “Now get out of my kitchen or make yourself useful.”

Yves can bake pastries that make dreams come true... for everyone but himself.

Legend whispers of a bakery...

The whispers aren’t about the food, although everyone agrees the baker’s offerings taste delicious:  cakes piped with lacey buttercream, tarts with crusts so flaky they melt in the mouth, and exotic and mysterious truffles.

Nor does the legend center on the delicate good looks of Yves the baker, his deep blue eyes, eyes that hint of hidden sadness. Many a young woman (and a few young men) sighed over him. But this too is not the Legend.

Legend has it that those who eat here are granted their hearts’ desire.

A widow reunited with her first love… a clerk received a promotion… a childless couple discovered they were to become parents. Even tiny wishes were granted, as when a child found her lost kitten.

The legend grew until Yves had too many customers to handle, though he couldn’t afford help. And so one afternoon, he faced the final customer, Akatsuki the bookseller, and apologized for the wait.

“Think nothing of it. I....” Akatsuki paused at the array of sweets. “One would think I had time to decide but…”

Used to customer indecision, Yves studied Akatsuki, then offered him matcha mille crepe cake.

Akatsuki took a bite. He closed his eyes, recalling his childhood in Kogyoku, when the Sakura bloomed and the air had the fresh scent of the sea. “I wanted a taste of home. You have a gift. What is your wish when you bake for yourself?”

“It doesn’t work on me.”

“Ah. That is a pity.” Akatsuki bowed to thank Yves and left.

Yves might have forgotten the encounter, but the next day, before the lunch rush, a pretty girl slipped inside. “What can I help you with, Miss?” Try as he might, Yves couldn’t determine her heart’s desire.

“I’m here to help you.” She grabbed an apron. “I’m Emma – my father sent me.” At Yves’s shocked expression, she continued. “We own the book store. We’re not busy this time of day, but you are.”

“I don’t need any help.” Yves eyed her with suspicion. Was she here to steal his recipes?

“Yes, you do.” She pointed to a line forming already. “I’ll package the items and ring up the sales.”

Too busy to protest, Yves did as he was told. If he were being honest, having Emma around did make things easier. He had more time to create. Even so, at the end of the day, he told her, “Thank you, but you don’t need to return.”

…She returned.

Every day. She never asked for money, or requested a magic pastry.

Soon, Yves was looking forward to the moment her smiling face appeared. For the first time, he regretted being unable partake in the magic himself, for his heart’s desire was, simply, Emma.

Still, at least he saw her two blissful hours every day when she worked cheerfully and competently by his side.

One day Yves noticed something different about her. A distracted look in her eyes. Pain twisted in the pit of his stomach. He knew that look. She was in love with someone and wanted a pastry.

When the crowd left, he turned to her. “Wait.” He would give her a pastry, but he couldn’t bear to hear her ask for it.

Yves decided he would bake her something new. Nothing but the best, even if he was breaking his own heart to provide it. When inspiration struck, he retreated to the kitchen to create.

Sometime later, he returned, half-hoping that she had given up and left. But… no, she was patiently reading.

With a flourish, he gave her one perfect pale pink macaron. “Raspberry macaron, with lavender ganache and raspberry curd.”

“It looks almost too pretty to eat.” Still, she lifted the confection to her lips, took a nibble, and sighed in bliss. “Mmmm.”

Yves waited, heart breaking. Any moment now, she would leave to find her heart’s desire. But she didn’t move. Finally, heart aching, he asked, “What was your heart’s desire?”

She took his hands. “I didn’t ask for my heart’s desire. I asked for yours.”

Then, with a hint of shyness, she kissed him.

Surprise gave way to joy, as he lost himself in magic’s kiss.

Pro-curetember Day 25: Purple!

For Day 25's prompt of Purple, we'll be continuing on from yesterday's post for Baking/Cooking, by translating into English the recipe for the Cat Macaron from Kirakira Pretty Cure A La Mode Episode 5 of the Precure franchise. This recipe is a three star plus difficulty level out of three stars, indicating it is extremely difficult. Keep this in mind when baking.

What You'll Need

Macarons

1 egg white (about 35g or 1 and 1/4 oz)

30g, or 1oz. of granulated sugar

Small amount of red and blue, or purple food coloring. If you want a deep purple, use gel food coloring. Powdered coloring tends to make the color muddy, so use a lighter purple if using powdered.

40g Almond Flour

40g Powdered Sugar

Filling & Top Decorations

40g unsalted butter

50g powdered sugar

40g cream cheese

A little food coloring

Some raspberry jam

1 purple chocolate pen.

If using store-bought purple macarons and cream, you can move to the decoration step found in Step 12.

For your pre-preparation, Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Preheat your oven to 170 Celsius, or 338 Fahrenheit. Chill the egg whites. Sift together the Almond Flour and Powdered Sugar. Bring the butter and cream cheese to room temperature.

Step One

Put the egg whites in a bowl and whip until they form slight peaks. Add the granulated sugar and whip further until they form stiff peaks and become fluffy. Be careful, because if there is oil or moisture in the bowl, or if there is egg yolk mixed in with the egg whites, the mixture will not foam properly.

Step Two

Add your chosen food coloring to the mixture you made in Step One, and mix until you get the color you like. Fold it in until the batter is smooth, using a macaronage, if you wish for the color to be a little darker. A lighter color may be closer to your image, though.

Step Three

Sift the almond flour and powdered sugar mixture you made in the Pre Preparation into your mixture from Step Two, while still folding it in a macaronage.

Step Four

The dough should go from lumpy to smooth and shiny, and when you lift it, it should fall in ribbons and overlap. If you mix it too much, it will be runny, thin, and not rise too well. If you don't mix it enough, it will be crumbly, dull, and cracked.

Step Five

Place into a piping bag fitted with a round tip, and squeeze onto baking paper to a diameter of about 3cm. It might be easier to squeeze the right size if you place a sheet of baking paper with 3cm circles drawn on it underneath your baking paper.

Step Six

Leave it for about an hour to dry, until the surface no longer sticks to your hands when you touch it. It may take longer to dry on rainy or humid days, so work on sunny days with low humidity, if possible.

Step Seven

Bake in a preheated oven at 170 celsius, or 338 Fahrenheit, for about 2 minutes. Open the oven door once for about ten seconds, to lower the temperature, then bake in a 130 celsius or 266 fahrenheit oven for 15 to 18 minutes. Leave to cool on the baking tray.

Step Eight

We're now making our filling. Put the butter and powdered sugar in a bowl, and beat until fluffy. Then, add the smooth cream cheese and beat some more.

Step Nine

Set aside a small uncolored amount, and add your food coloring to the rest, mixing until you get the desired color.

Step Ten

Place a small star tip into a piping bag and pour in the colored cream that you made in Step Nine.

Step Eleven

Find Macarons of similar size, and pair them together, so you know which ones will maintain structure.

Step Twelve

Spread a small amount of raspberry jam onto one of the macarons, and squeeze the colored cream you made in Step 10 on top, then top with the other macaron and place in the refrigerator for half a day to set.

Step Thirteen

Place on a plate and pour the reserved uncolored cream into a piping bag to pipe the ears and center decoration.

Step Fourteen

Dip a purple chocolate pen in hot water, cut the tip, and draw the eyes, whiskers, nose, and tail of the Macaron cat. You can also draw a small star on baking paper and leave in the refrigerator to chill before placing it on top of the center decoration cream.

There you have it, the cat macarons found in Kirakira Pretty Cure A La Mode Episode 5. They're a difficult process and a difficult recipe, so I wish you all the best of luck with this kind of thing, fufufu~.

Once again have I fallen victim to the appeals of marketing collaborations OR my review of Самокат х Honkai Star Rail exclusive desserts

Collaboration items included:

• macarons, three flavors in a pack - vanilla plombir, raspberry brownie, white chocolate and (blue) cheese;

• tayaki with dulce de leche filling;

• mini tarts, two flavors in a pack - mango and raspberry.

My thoughts going in

I expected the tarts to be my favorite out of the bunch - I am not that huge of a fan regarding macarons, and and tayaki still hold somewhat of a "gimmick food" position here, so in a lot of places they suck just because people would buy them anyway for the tayaki appeal. Tho I had been informed by my dear bestie* that the foxboy on tayaki packaging is, in fact, a chef, so I held out some of the hope for it. I did overall vibe with the flavors selection for the collaboration items, so I expected each dessert to not be half bad at the minimum, even accounting for collab food always being at least a bit shit.

* said bestie will be receiving all future in-game promocodes I'll be getting as a part of a collaboration, so don't worry, I'm not forcing it to do unpaid labor mwah 💗

Tayaki with dulce de leche - 3/5

My initial vibe check of "tayaki is probably going to be mediocre" turned out to be correct, alas. Despite the very enticing website photo, in actuality there was way less filling, to a ridiculous degree. The dough itself wasn't bad, but it was also on the drier side, which more filling could have definitely fixed... Tayaki was, however, very soft and chewy, and there was potential, so 3 out of 5 seems deserved. Not awful, but won't be ordering again.

Mango and raspberry mini-tarts - 4/5 and 5/5

I have made an executive decision to rate different flavours of the same product differently, as you can see. Makes more sense to me, you know.

Both tarts have the same base, so no point talking about it separately. The crust was nice. Soft, but still structurally sound, great texture and great taste. Very happy with it overall 👍 And this time I wasn't scammed out of my money by filling-less dessert, great crust to filling balance in both mini-tarts.

Difference in my review scoring ultimately comes down to mango vs raspberry filling. I got the impression that the mangoes used weren't that great, maybe a bit unripe or something like that. I could def taste it while eating, so I had to bump the score down a bit, even if overall the mango tart was pretty nice. Raspberry was perfect, no notes. Not too sweet, with just the right amount of bitterness to it... A highlight of the entire collaboration for me indeed.

Macarons with white chocolate and cheese, raspberry brownie, and vanilla plombir - 4/5, 4/5 and 5/5

I was so pleasantly surprised with those! Once again, I'm usually very neutral about macarons, but those ones were nice :3 Literally melted in my mouth and everything!! Vanilla plombir, unexpectedly, was my favorite - it had a very gentle and sweet (without being overwhelming) taste... Like a good vanilla ice cream... Raspberry brownie and white chocolate + cheese each get a point redacted for the filling. Raspberry brownie had a bit of a bitter aftertaste - pure cocoa is bitter, and raspberries are kind of acidic themselves, so those needed something sweet to offset them, you know... Maybe at least tweak the ingredients proportions... White chocolate and blue cheese was. Way too much blue cheese way little chocolate, to the point where cheese really overwhelmed the palette. On top of that, I don't particularly enjoy blue cheese already, so this one wasn't for me. I think having blue cheese as a more subtle flavor would have gone a long way - it would add complexity without being. what it is right now.

Desserts! I love desserts and trying new flavors of things.

Akatsuki member's take on desserts:

Pain/Nagato: Not a dessert man. I can't imagine him enjoying sweets very much, especially if he's been chronically deprived of the finer things in life due to his upbringing. He won't turn you down if you offer him a nice slice of cake, but don't take it personally if he doesn't finish it.

Konan: Same as Nagato but not as bad. She likes mild flavors for her sweets. It can't be bursting with sugar, nor can it be so fruity and tart it might make your mouth pucker. I bet she'd enjoy matcha flavored things, like mochi or taffy.

Zetsu: Frankly I do not entirely know what this man(s) thinks of regular human food. Your palette is a bit fucked up if cold bodies are your favorite taste. That being said, I think the funniest option is if he really likes ladyfingers for the pun alone.

Tobi/Obito: I know it's canon he likes dango. That probably gives a good idea of where we can take these headcanons. I think while he appreciates finer flavors, he's a sort of "I'll take what I can get" kind of guy, especially as his Tobi persona. As Obito, you'd have to catch him dead before he'll let it be known he has midnight snacks on the regular.

Hidan: Kind of hard to imagine liking sweets. I don't think he hates them, but he associates them with being childish. He'd eat out of boredom and nothing else.

Kakuzu: Earthy, tea or coffee or floral flavors. Rose turkish delight or tiramisu or dark chocolate dipped coffee beans. Maybe taro or ube flavored things. Desserts are a treat and not a necessity, and one he prefers to savor on his own. Do not invite this man to your ice cream social. He will not come.

Deidara: Fruit. Citrus and raspberries and mango and other such sharply flavored things. He'd love the shit out of watermelon or blue raspberry jolly ranchers. It has to be bold for him to enjoy it, which is a blessing if you're around overly processed American brand candy. I bet he'd like bomb pops, name not even involved in that. You KNOW he'd be obsessed with pop rocks. He'd put that shit on ice cream to make it less boring like how a dad takes out a packet of hot sauce "for more flavor".

Sasori: He doesn't eat, so I think he'd be entirely into the visual/artistic aspect of desserts. Macarons are a good example, he'd really enjoy the painstaking work involved with making them perfect. I think he'd also enjoy cake and chocolate sculptures, but much more to critique than to thoughtlessly admire. He would take no offense to using fondant, rice crispies, or wood planks to keep that art piece together. Edibility is not a factor. He and Deidara would gravely injure one another over this.

Kisame: I bet he really would like popsicles and boba tea. Strikes me as a cold dessert kind of guy, has to be something refreshing. I think honeydew would be a flavor he'd go towards, maybe coconut or lime. I'd take this man out to the boardwalk this summer for sure to split a drink or a stick.

Itachi: A gourmand. He can taste anything and know not only the ingredients but their rough (if not precise) ratio. He can analyze food like a DNA scanner can hair on an FBI tv show. You know he'd win any cooking competition involving guessing flavors. Gordon Ramsay would fall in love with this man. I know canonically it's dango, but I think the funniest favorite dessert for him would be the shitty near straight up powder sugar chocolates you can buy for Halloween.

Yesterday, I went to my older brother's girlfriend's afternoon tea party - a belated birthday celebration that was also partly for her sister

Unfortunately I had a migraine, but it all went OK. Older brother's girlfriend wasn't very pleased with it, having been to previous afternoon teas, and found it to be disorganised and chaotic. This was my very first afternoon tea, so I thought it was OK. Older brother's girlfriend pointed out that there are supposed to be a selection of teas at an afternoon tea, but the only options were English Breakfast (normal tea) and coffee 🫖🍵☕

There was me, older brother, middle sister, older brother's girlfriend, her mum, her dad, her sister, her hyperactive and excitable niece and her adorable baby nephew (he was so calm and happy all the time and never cried once - he also had really big brown eyes). There were also some friends that are mutual between older brother, his girlfriend, and middle sister, and the friends' young sons - their mum is pregnant with their third baby. The kids mainly watched cartoons on a tablet (Lucas The Spider and what looked like a cross between Sonic and Paw Patrol - like a fox with Sonic eyes but Paw Patrol-style animation)

Due to allergies, I got my own special tea 😊

I don't usually drink ordinary coffee but the coffee here was nice (I do like frappes and such though)

Sandwiches from left to right:

Chicken, bacon and mayonnaise 🍗🥓⚪ - I only ate about half of it

Ham and tomato 🥩🍖🍅 - my autistic ass took the tomatoes off and it was OK

Cheese 🧀 - can't go wrong with a plain cheese sandwich

Tuna and cucumber 🐟🥒 - didn't get eaten. The smell of cucumber has always made me feel ill

Currant scone - I don't normally do currants but the scone with Anchor butter, strawberry jam and clotted cream was quite nice. I even mixed the remaining strawberry jam and clotted cream together and ate that

Cakes - note the allergy safe choices and lack of macarons

The orange thing is a fondanty, creamy dessert with dark chocolate decorations 🍊🍫

The chocolate dessert is chocolate and ginger, sort of truffly, probably the best one 🍫🫚

Almost everyone at this tea party was nerdy/alternative and either neurodivergent or suspected of being. Most of the conversation was about video games, but at one point the conversation was just Father Ted quotes (especially Father Jack)

Brother's girlfriend's mum also gave everyone two big cake slices each - cherry and rum cake 🍒🍹🍰🎂 and a chocolate cake that's dairy-free 🍫🍰🎂

Middle sister is 29 years old but still acts like an edgy teenager. She still wants to drink and party non-stop when most of her friends are settling down. My 19-year-old younger sister says she acts more mature than middle sister does - it's like their ages are reversed

Middle sister still also does 'edgy' things for attention, combined with regressing into a toddler-like state, which is worse when she's drunk

The little kids all got given paper bags with farm animals to colour in, with red, yellow, green and blue crayons. Middle sister wanted one too, so brother's girlfriend's mum got her one

It started out OK. She coloured the cow in blue. We discussed Blue Cow from Story Makers and sang the song.

Then she drew a nosebleed on the cow and said 'It's a coke addict cow!'

Then she fucking drew a NAZI FLAG on the barn 🤦🏻‍♀️ and said 'It's Animal Farm!'

I've never read Animal Farm but they at least pretended to be an equal society in that, so not really applicable to something as blatantly horrific as Nazi Germany

And her friend was laughing. Dude, she's 29. If it was an edgy teenager and it was a one-off thing then you'd understand it somewhat, but this is a grown woman who still wants to party and is either a teenager or a toddler. When I told Mum about it later, she said she was 'attention-seeking' but Mum says really horrible, bigoted things all the time. Also, my sister didn't bother finishing colouring in after that
