The state of things.

Hi! I bring bad news, and worse news! I’m not here to tell a sob story, I’m here to tell it how it is.

Things have taken a turn for the worse. There was some kind of error when paying for my classes last semester, in which the invoice I received was for some reason only part of the required payment for my courses. I paid this off, thinking it was the full thing. Apparently, there’s a new policy in place where students do not have to pay right away, so they don’t drop the courses if you don’t pay, so you have time to scrape together the money if you’re paying out of pocket and not using financial aid. I was not informed of this policy, so the fact that I could access my courses indicated to me that there was nothing wrong. However, I received an email today saying that my payment for this upcoming semester’s courses was due, and it was an obscene amount of money. Naturally I questioned it, and there’s no mistake—this was, in fact, the amount that needed paying. However, this was the amount required for the upcoming semester’s courses plus the unpaid portion of this last semester’s bill. I could, if I was smart, recover from this—

Except that just the other day, I was buying furniture so I wouldn’t have to keep living in the stagnant and barren kind of environment reminiscent of the entire r/MaleLivingSpace subreddit. Had I been aware I needed to pay this much after what I paid for the furniture, I wouldn’t have even wasted the gas.

So I think I can confidently say I’m struggling now. I really don’t know what to do at this point. I’ll be churning out art commissions as usual and they’re never closing, but I’m probably not going to be posting fanfic for some time.
