i NEED you to remember this: you are allowed to be angry at your doctors. you are allowed to be furious. you are allowed to be mad at your nurses and technicians and neurologists and psychiatrists and medical assistants. they are not god. they are human beings and they work in a system that wears them raw, and that is unfair, but it isn't an excuse to treat you badly. i'm not necessarily saying you should throw a brick through the window of their car, but you can, should, must be angry with them for ignoring you, demeaning you, dehumanizing you, dismissing you, acting like you're lying, talking only about your weight, failing to acknowledge you past your symptoms, etc etc etc. you are an equal to your doctor. you are a human being and so are they. do not treat them as beyond reproach. you are allowed to be angry at your doctors.

More lightning McQueen headcanons

I’m on a long ass roadtrip back home bc I’m moving. Things aren’t going slay so I’m projecting :D

Doc forces him to take sleeping pills or else Lightning won’t fall asleep at a decent time

He tends to get restless and overthinks

Most of it is due to media and racing

Gets horrible panic attacks

He had one in front of Doc and got super embarrassed after

Doc reassured him and was shockingly really good at comforting Lightning

He ended up prescribing him anxiety meds

Lightning tends to overdo it during practice and races

It’s a way to prove his worth

He has a fear of failure and doesn’t want to let anyone down

Months after Doc became Lightnings pit crew chief, Lightnings ended up pushing himself to sickness and injury

Obviously he kept going and said he was fine

Until sheriff dragged a half asleep Lightning back to Doc’s

Lightning thought Doc would be mad but he just got a lecture

Lightning never believed someone could care so much for him (besides Mack)

Doc will take Lightnings phone when the media becomes too much

Occasionally starts Twitter drama on accident

His stans will go to war with Chick Hicks stans

Lightning, Cal, Bobby, and Brick will bully each other online

It’s usually small jabs at each other

There is an SUV parked directly in front of my garage door, preventing me from going to work. Had to call the warehouse and say “hey I legit can’t come in today unless this car leaves in the next half hour.”

Office Dude Austin: “do you know who’s - ?”

Me: “no. I live in an apartment and can’t knock on every door at 4am.”

Austin: “ah. Yeah. I’ll mark you out today. Call if anything changes.”

Called the tow company that serves my complex and they said to tow a car that isn’t mine they’d need the apartment manager to call it in. Which makes sense, I wouldn’t want some rando to be able to tow my car without cause. But the office doesn’t open until after my work shift is over so there’s no point. I took down the licenses plate, make, and model to report later.

I’m angry. I want to go to work today. I don’t want to go back to sleep, I already got eight hours. Slept real deep after crying all afternoon cuz a friend died and now I just wanna go stack boxes Tetris style to alleviate the stress and process my grief in a healthy way.

Instead I’m stuck wishing violence on a vehicle. See how I’m not smashing their windows? I’m so nice. If I could lift their car onto the mall roof I would. Losing this shift is costing me $80 and there isn’t a way for me to force them to pay it that wouldn’t cost way more in legal fees. What if I had a medical emergency? And why couldn’t they park in an open space at the massive mall lot next door instead of directly in front of a whole row a garage doors?! This wasn’t some ‘leave the car running while I sprint in and out of my friend’s place’ situation. The hazard lights aren’t on, no one is sleeping inside, and I want to chew their side mirrors off.
