Duolingo alternatives
Duolingo’s been in the news for going all AI. Of course, if AI is your bag, that’s cool. But if you’re interested in learning language from resources made by real native speakers and humans…
Here are some suggestions…
Speaking/Listening
-Innovative Language (known for JapanesePod101, koreanclass101, spanishpod101 and their collection of 30+ language programs - teaches languages through conversations (you listen to a convo between two native speakers and then get it explained). Lessons are about 5–10 min on average in audio/video format https://www.innovativelanguage.com/online-language-courses
Pimsleur - similar approach as above but lessons are longer - 30 min and audio only - https://www.pimsleur.com
Reading
LingQ - learn by reading native content and breaking down the words inside. https://www.lingq.com/en/
ReadLang - a browser based tool that translates articles and books you read. https://readlang.com
Satori Reader - (for Japanese) - read level appropriate stories (my fav for reading)
Vocabulary
Anki - not sure if this needs extra explanation - most language learners love Anki’s flash card approach https://apps.ankiweb.net
Clozemaster - learn words in sentence context (instead of just words alone) https://www.clozemaster.com

PSA: Blanket Statements
What is a blanket statement?
A blanket statement is information on your preferences for other creators to interacting with your works. It is helpful for others to know if you welcome podfics, fanart, recursive fiction, translations, remixes, etc of your works!
How can I make a Blanket Statement?
You can use Fanworks Permission Statement Builder to build a version tailored to you!
Or if you want your Blanket Statement to be a Blanket Permission for all fanworks you can use/modify the sentence below:
I welcome transformative works based off of my fan works! This includes podfic, fanart, translations, remixes, recursive fiction and any other fanwork inspired by my works.
Once you have your BS add it to your Ao3 profile. You can also add it to a pinned post in your Tumblr profile or on any other sites you use (Dreamwidth, bluesky, etc).
Tumblr media
Reblog with links to your Blanket Statements to let your followers know where to find it!
More info on Blanket Statements in below:
Do I have to allow all types of derivative/transformative works in my statement?
No, the statement is only an information on your stance on fanworks based on your works. You can allow all fanworks - amazing! You can say you'd rather be asked first before anything is published- great, it makes you more approachable! You can say you don't want any derivative works - thank you, now I know just to admire your works and not bother you with requests ^^
You can even have a mix for example: "Blanket permission for podfics and fanart. For translations or continuing my fics - please ask me first"
What are other information are useful to have with your BS?
How to contact you (comment/tumblr/other social media)
How would you like to be creddited? Is inspired by option on ao3 enough?
Are there any platforms you'd rather derivatives of your works be not shared on? (Note that ao3 doesn't have native hosting for audio and images, so any works in that medium will need to be hosted elsewhere, for example on Internet Archive, Gdrive, Tumblr, Youtube)
I'm worried about AI using my works.
That's understandable. You can add a note saying you do not allow your works to be used by AI in any way - for example to train in or to be used in AI prompts.
I don't have any/much works published. Is it still helpful for me to add a blanket statement?
Yes, in case you create something in the future you'll have it ready to go! And even if you don't it still normalizes having a BS and raises awareness about them!
Why don't people just ask for permission directly?
It can be hard for people to reach out with permission requests for a variety of reasons. They might be participating in time-limited event, where waiting for a response is not viable. They might be in the mood to create *right now*. Asking for permission sometimes feels like a commitment too, so it's easier for many creators to just surprise author with their creation after it's done. Sometimes people ask for permission, but never hear back, or get rejected.
Having an ask-first statement helps you be more approachable too! It shows that you might be open/welcoming to the request.
I've added a Blanket Permission to my profile! Is there a way for me to make it even easier to find for other creators?
Yes! If you have a Blanket Permission available publicly you can add a link to it and username to fanwork permission statement list. You can use this sheet to submit your own permission. There is a browser extension that highlights all usernames with BP in the fps database on ao3.

Migaku Review
I just finished my 10-day free trial of the language study tool Migaku, and I wanted to put my thoughts together into a review! If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask in the notes or send me a message.
I had seen so many ads for it on YouTube that I was on the verge of blacklisting it in my brain. Something about the messaging felt kind of gimmicky for some reason. Like "hey! stop using your stupid free apps and start paying for our super special AI app that works like magic!!" kind of vibes. Please.
That said, I saw one of Dogen's videos about it and I was like...ok fine. I'll try the free trial. They don't even make you register a credit card for the free trial, which was comforting. If you're interested in my thoughts, please continue below the cut.
(FYI: migaku can be used for I think 10 different languages, but I'm focusing on Japanese in my review because that's what I study)
I will start by saying I liked it, and this review is going to be generally positive, despite my initial misgivings. That being said, I want to get the negatives out of the way first.
Weak Points - The price tag was kind of a shock for me when I saw that the lowest tier was $120. After doing the math, it comes out to $10 a month, which is less than I pay for Spotify and Netflix respectively, so not bad. It's just...not free. So when you're used to studying with hand-me-down textbooks and the Anki desktop app which ARE free, it feels like a big investment.
- The subtitles and furigana are not perfect. I mostly use it with Netflix, where the subtitles have been like 98% accurate, but when I used it with YouTube where native Japanese speakers were using slang and speaking quickly in incomplete sentences as often happens in natural speech, Migaku had some trouble keeping up.
As a somewhat advanced speaker, I've been able to catch the mistakes with furigana just based on feeling ("I don't know that word, but it FEELS like that's wrong because those radicals..."), but I would worry a little bit about it for new learners. Although I guess beginners wouldn't be trying to watch the kind of content where Migaku struggles...but it's worth mentioning.
- It only runs on Chrome.
- It uses AI. I personally feel like this is one of the best uses of AI, as it's not trying to be creative or accidentally giving us dangerous information. But if you're avoiding AI on principle, then it'll have to be a pass.
Good Points - It runs really smoothly. I have the browser extension and the phone app. So far, if I add new flashcards via the browser window, they show up almost instantaneously in the app, ready to be studied. If I mark a word as "known" via Netflix subtitles (more on this later), my vocabulary word count reflects this immediately.
- It does flashcards well. I've always been interested in sentence mining, but it's been too much of a pain for me to do it properly. I remember trying to mine sentences and even just vocabulary from the first episode of Dandadan, and it took me like 3 hours to get through a single 22-minute episode. It was really annoying to stop and guess the reading so I could type it into jisho that was open in another tab or, oh god, try to DRAW the kanji into my google translate app.
If you're like "ok well that's very dramatic, you can just use Yomitan, and also you shouldn't be mining EVERY word/sentence you don't know" then you are correct! And Migaku might not be necessary for you. But it was a game-changer for me.
Another massive benefit is the automatic flashcard maker. It pulls the sentence audio and a screenshot from the from drama/movie/etc that you're watching. This is great for building connections that can help the words stick in your memory. I pulled a few sentences from the anime Nana, and the background music got pulled in with them, and now I get a little emotional whenever I do my reviews lol.
Also -- I wouldn't do this because I hate spoilers, but my friend brought this up -- you can open up the full subtitles for an episode and have Migaku make flashcards of the words you don't know so that you can study them before watching.
- It's not JUST flashcards. It keeps tracks of words you know. You *do* have to manually enter them, either by copy and pasting (maybe a JLPT N5 word list or an old Anki deck?) or by marking them individually as you go through texts or movie/drama/anime subtitles. I know this might sound overwhelming, especially if you're more advanced had have a large vocabulary...but I've found it to be SO much fun lol. Seeing my "known word" count increase has been intensely motivating, and as a bit of a gamer, I really like the idea that I can "100%" an episode of my favorite anime. It's only been a few days, so I don't know how long this will last, but my time spent immersing in native materials was up by like 10 hours last week. It uses the words you know to give you a comprehension rating when you open a webpage, like a NHK News or a Wikipedia article. I get discouraged easily when I read or watch something that I can't comprehend, so it's extremely helpful to see "you know 80% of these words" or "oof you only know 22% of these words" BEFORE I get started.
It also includes pitch accent lessons. I'm not personally invested in that at all, but, ya know, it doesn't hurt.
One more feature that I personally don't use but others might find interesting: there's a "skip" mode, where the app will fast-forward through (or completely skip) sections with no dialogue. I tried it once with something I was rewatching, but it was a bit glitchy.
Also, uh, I guess there's a Discord. If you're into that.
- You can import your Anki decks.
TL;DR - It's not free. - It only runs on Chrome. - Whether it's "worth it" depends on three things: Do you have money to throw at your hobbies? Do you have the time/drive/knowledge to set up / integrate existing free apps instead? Do you have the time/drive to actually use it frequently?
For me, it's "Not really, I could probably stick to Anki...but my birthday is next month." and "No, or I would have already" and "YES!" so I'm signing up for lifetime and looking forward to seeing how much it improves over the next couple of years.

in all seriousness i was talking with my girlfriend about the youtube phrenology ai bullshit and ublock origin potentially blocking their ad revenue and we came to the mutual agreement that youtube wouldn't've been fighting so hard about ublock origin if it didn't strip them of revenue
so given the phrenology ai and the shorts smearing and the ai dubbing i can find as far back as 6 months ago (i can't believe we've gotten to the point where the concept of a universal translator is legitimately unethical because the capitalist mode of production demands it exploit and steal from workers and continue to cause massive environmental problems because we refuse to shift to green energy and massively slow down mining operations) i think the logical conclusion isn't to stop using youtube entirely and change your profile picture to clippy (which i legitimately don't think is actually going to do anything? that's what we call a non-disruptive protest) but instead:
Use specifically Firefox to ensure that your plugins work as intended, as they won't work to their full effect in Chrome-based browsers (especially avoid Opera, as their VPN integration nullifies both the VPN and the standard HTTPS encryption safety and sells your web traffic)
Use uBlock Origin with the code presented below (A); if you're like me and fucking revile advertising I also recommend SponsorBlock, which auto-skips or auto-mutes advertisements in videos based on community feedback of their locations and lengths (these can additionally be jumped back anyways if you'd like to view what an artist is discussing anyways)
If you use YouTube Shorts for some reason, stop using them entirely
Use Return YouTube Dislike as this not only helps you see the like-dislike ratio again, but can also be an excellent flag for generated videos of extremely low quality
If you want extra web de-enshittification, use Hide Google AI Overviews (self-explanatory, though this only removes the one at the top; the similar results buttons are unfortunately now largely dominated by Gemini overviews) and uBlacklist (allows you to entirely obliterate entire websites from your search results) with the code presented below (B) which obliterates a lot of genAI sites
If you make YouTube videos, begin mirroring them to PeerTube (what about others: (C)), a decentralized YouTube alternative that as far as I'm aware isn't alt-tech (D); the one downside of PeerTube is you have to manually search for videos and channels, though this isn't too much of a difference between using YouTube with channel history disabled, which disables your home page. I would additionally recommend making PeerTube exclusive videos to pull people away from YouTube as they continue down this path; YouTube is owned by Google, a massive megacorporation and tech monopoly: putting them into the red isn't going to shut the site down, so we need to draw away as much traffic as possible
Download and archive whatever you can to flash drives and hard drives; worst case scenario you can screen record or use recording software
(A) Code for uBlock Origin to work better on YouTube:
! Insert JavaScript to tell YouTube not to create an anti-adblock message youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.openPopupConfig.supportedPopups.adBlockMessageViewModel, false) ! Tell YouTube that no adblockers were found youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.adBlocksFound, 0) ! Tell YouTube to not insert any ads into the video youtube.com##+js(set, ytplayer.config.args.raw_player_response.adPlacements, []) ! Tell YouTube that the video has ads in it youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.hasAllowedInstreamAd, true)
Make sure there are two copies of the above code; from what I can tell, YouTube runs two checks, as this is occasionally detected when only one instance of this exists, but the dual instance has rendered this functional since October 2023
! Remove YouTube's Iron Overlay, which disables adblock users from using YouTube www.youtube.com##ytd-enforcement-message-view-model www.youtube.com##tp-yt-iron-overlay-backdrop
(B) [VERY LONG] uBlacklist code to obliterate a lot of AI sites:
Google Docs: uBlacklist Code
(C) A large number of alternatives can be found on this Neocities site called YouTuube, however it lists the pros and cons of each. Within these, Odysee is a crypto-based service (which from the get-go gives you a litmus of the average politics of users), Vimeo's tagline explicitly states it's AI-based now when searched for, DailyMotion prioritizes news articles over users and is under EU regulations, Rumble is an alt-tech (see (D)) website (as is BitChute), and VidLii is an entirely uncensored website that repeatedly undergoes changes in leadership. While PeerTube requires active searching, it's the best one I can find between the alternatives.
(D) Alt-tech is shorthand for alt-right technology; in itself, alt-right is a euphemism for, "white supremacist," according to the term's own creator, and generally encompasses a large array of disciminatory beliefs and practices that can equally be lumped under the term fascist. Alt-tech websites are websites where these people flock to when restricted on standard platforms for espousing reactionary beliefs and/or organizing terrorism, stochastic or otherwise.

AI Code Generators: Revolutionizing Software Development
The way we write code is evolving. Thanks to advancements in artificial intelligence, developers now have tools that can generate entire code snippets, functions, or even applications. These tools are known as AI code generators, and they’re transforming how software is built, tested, and deployed.
In this article, we’ll explore AI code generators, how they work, their benefits and limitations, and the best tools available today.
What Are AI Code Generators?
AI code generators are tools powered by machine learning models (like OpenAI's GPT, Meta’s Code Llama, or Google’s Gemini) that can automatically write, complete, or refactor code based on natural language instructions or existing code context.
Instead of manually writing every line, developers can describe what they want in plain English, and the AI tool translates that into functional code.
How AI Code Generators Work
These generators are built on large language models (LLMs) trained on massive datasets of public code from platforms like GitHub, Stack Overflow, and documentation. The AI learns:
Programming syntax
Common patterns
Best practices
Contextual meaning of user input
By processing this data, the generator can predict and output relevant code based on your prompt.
Benefits of AI Code Generators
1. Faster Development
Developers can skip repetitive tasks and boilerplate code, allowing them to focus on core logic and architecture.
2. Increased Productivity
With AI handling suggestions and autocompletions, teams can ship code faster and meet tight deadlines.
3. Fewer Errors
Many generators follow best practices, which helps reduce syntax errors and improve code quality.
4. Learning Support
AI tools can help junior developers understand new languages, patterns, and libraries.
5. Cross-language Support
Most tools support multiple programming languages like Python, JavaScript, Go, Java, and TypeScript.
Popular AI Code Generators
Tool
Highlights
GitHub Copilot
Powered by OpenAI Codex, integrates with VSCode and JetBrains IDEs
Amazon CodeWhisperer
AWS-native tool for generating and securing code
Tabnine
Predictive coding with local + cloud support
Replit Ghostwriter
Ideal for building full-stack web apps in the browser
Codeium
Free and fast with multi-language support
Keploy
AI-powered test case and stub generator for APIs and microservices
Use Cases for AI Code Generators
Writing functions or modules quickly
Auto-generating unit and integration tests
Refactoring legacy code
Building MVPs with minimal manual effort
Converting code between languages
Documenting code automatically
Example: Generate a Function in Python
Prompt: "Write a function to check if a number is prime"
AI Output:
python
CopyEdit
def is_prime(n):
    if n <= 1:
        return False
    for i in range(2, int(n**0.5) + 1):
        if n % i == 0:
            return False
    return True
In seconds, the generator creates a clean, functional block of code that can be tested and deployed.
Challenges and Limitations
Security Risks: Generated code may include unsafe patterns or vulnerabilities.
Bias in Training Data: AI can replicate errors or outdated practices present in its training set.
Over-reliance: Developers might accept code without fully understanding it.
Limited Context: Tools may struggle with highly complex or domain-specific tasks.
AI Code Generators vs Human Developers
AI is not here to replace developers—it’s here to empower them. Think of these tools as intelligent assistants that handle the grunt work, while you focus on decision-making, optimization, and architecture.
Human oversight is still critical for:
Validating output
Ensuring maintainability
Writing business logic
Securing and testing code
AI for Test Case Generation
Tools like Keploy go beyond code generation. Keploy can:
Auto-generate test cases and mocks from real API traffic
Ensure over 90% test coverage
Speed up testing for microservices, saving hours of QA time
Keploy bridges the gap between coding and testing—making your CI/CD pipeline faster and more reliable.
Final Thoughts
AI code generators are changing how modern development works. They help save time, reduce bugs, and boost developer efficiency. While not a replacement for skilled engineers, they are powerful tools in any dev toolkit.
The future of software development will be a blend of human creativity and AI-powered automation. If you're not already using AI tools in your workflow, now is the time to explore. Want to test your APIs using AI-generated test cases? Try Keploy and accelerate your development process with confidence.

What's the deal with Palworld?
Tumblr media
Been seeing a lot of stuff floating around for the defense and the hatred of palworld, so I did some digging and put it here with my own two cents. In short: I have my reasons to be wary of it and won't buy it. It's up to you in the end if you wanna get it!
I went ahead and did said digging because I was having difficulty finding better sources for things that, other than my personal reasons for avoiding the game, were poorly sourced. So, here's the reasons I am avoiding buying it and I am wary of the developer. I know a lot of people aren't going to care about this at all, because at the end of the day the game is fun to a lot of folks. tl:dr there are reasons to be wary about the game but at the end of the day it's up to you. Firstoff, I personally was most worried about Palworld's direct predecessor (it is essentially the same game) on steam called Craftworld. It has been in early access for three years, and while people enjoyed it, I have personally been burned by a lot of early access games that wound up being abandonware nothingburgers, so that was a point against it in my eyes. This kinda boils down to some philosophical crap about like ' when is a game truly done?' The developer has talked positively about AI art, including having made a game -based- on AI art called AI art impostor. There is no direct evidence that game assets are generated by AI methods, but the designs being literally different pokemon parts smushed together is basically circumstantial but damming, along with the fact the developer talks about how only -one person- made all the pals. This ties back into the whole stealing designs from people thing. It is pretty clearly derivative of pokemon as a whole, but I guess it's up to you how much you would consider that 'parody' At the end of the day, there just aren't many, if -any- hard sources for a lot of this stuff other than circumstantial evidence and speculation, other than what is easily observed and my personal extreme mistrust of anything with the cursed 'early access' stamp on it. That, and the words of the developer itself.(https://note.com/pocketpair/n/n54f674cccc40) Link above, entirely Japanese and translated via browser but straight from the lion's mouth. So, there's what I got. What you do with the info is up to you I reckon. unfortunately all this boils down to there being like no hard evidence whatsoever, but I stated me case. <3

So. I haven't used Duolingo in years. I've long since realized just how... sparse... a language teaching tool it really is (virtual flash cards are great for vocab practice, but that's about it).
But I still got a little emotional when I deleted my account just now over their latest AI bullshit.
Duolingo wasn't my FIRST experience studying a foreign language, or even my first experience studying one outside of the classroom, but it's the first one I really got into. Maybe it was the gamification of it, maybe it was the fact that I was using it for Esperanto -- a language with a simple enough grammar that I was able to pick that part up on my own fairly quickly -- but Duolingo is the thing that worked for me.
And sure. In time, I went off and found better resources that were more appropriate for the languages I was into and the ways I wanted to use them, but I still STARTED there. I still picked it back up when they added Latin, and I followed the "Yiddish for English Speakers" page in the incubator for YEARS, hoping it would be a free, accessible starting point for that language.
Because that's what Duolingo has always been to me. It's more a game than a tool, but it's free, and that gamification makes it easy to get into. It was a place to start.
I wholeheartedly DO NOT SUPPORT their new AI-based approach, and I hope all the translators who lost their jobs over it find stable employment elsewhere. If you have an account, I urge you to delete it like I did.
(The app won't let you, but you can do it fairly easily from a browser. I also recommend deleting your personal data -- it's only one extra step, and then you're out for good.)
But I also understand feeling kinda sad while you do it. I felt sad! The owl is cute! It's a fun game! There's a lot of memories there, and a lot of investment if you've been keeping up a streak for a long time. That's WHY the app is designed that way.
You're allowed to feel however you feel about the stupid bird app (no not that one). It's still the right thing, even if it hurts.

Btw I think Brave is also a Chromium-based browser so it is still feeding information to Chrome sources? Opera GX is also Chromium-based and linked to cryptocurrency bullshit, as I recall. My point being, check to make sure that whatever you switch to from Chrome isn't just a reskin of Chrome. Personally, I've been using Firefox for the last few yesrs and it's been working great for me.
DuckDuckGo as a search engine is okay, but noticeably less sophisticated/built-up than Google. I still use Google Images especially, since DuckDuckGo's image base doesn't seem to be half as comprehensive-- and that's despite the fact that Google loves to show me AI-generated garbage.
Obsidian has some form-based limitations, since it's a glorified UI for your computer's notepad program, but it works great for making notes, and the theme is very customizable.
Can't speak for Cryptpad or Ellipsus, but LibreOffice does have a pretty confusing and unintuitive UI (but take my word with the understanding that I never really learned the full ins and outs of Word). Libre has a great suite of free programs that mimic the functions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.-- but bear in mind that while the raw functionality should be roughly equivalent, there are probably going to be issues in translation. Especially re: formatting, which is a pretty big problem for a visual medium like slideshows.
(Like, if you make a slideshow in Libre's Impress program, you should check it head to toe if you try to convert it to a PowerPoint or Google Slides-readable presentation. But honestly, same thing for converting a Google Slide into PowerPoint. In general, it's never entirely safe to convert a format-critical document and not check the converted file over for issues.)
Anyways! Go forth and experiment with independent alternatives to mainstream programs that take advantage of their monopoly on the industry to mine you for data. But like. 1) Expect growing pains, and 2) Check to make sure the independent alternative isn't using the proprietary skeleton of the mainstream program you were trying to escape.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day... 💔

How To Use AI in Our Daily Work
In every age, humanity has crafted tools to ease the burden of labor and amplify the reach of imagination. From the plow to the printing press, from the loom to the steam engine, we’ve always shaped the future with the work of our hands. And now, in this electric dawn, a new instrument stands beside us—artificial intelligence.
It is no longer a distant concept from science fiction. It is here, humming quietly in browsers, apps, and systems. Yet many still ask: How can I use AI in my daily work? The answer, my friend, is not wrapped in buzzwords or jargon, but in simple tasks where AI becomes a silent partner—a humble assistant, not a master.
Let us explore this, with respect for wisdom and curiosity as our guide.
1. Writing and Communication: From First Draft to Final Polish
Whether you’re composing an email, writing a report, or crafting a proposal, AI writing tools like ChatGPT, Grammarly, or Notion AI can help refine your message.
Drafting content: Struggling with where to begin? Ask an AI to generate a starting paragraph, outline your article, or suggest headlines.
Polishing language: AI can correct grammar, adjust tone, or translate your message into different languages or formality levels.
Summarizing information: Long emails, meeting notes, or research papers can be condensed by AI into key takeaways.
Yet, here the wise pause: while AI can write, it cannot feel. It cannot infuse words with your lived experience. Use it as a quill—not the poet.
2. Managing Time and Tasks: Your Digital Assistant
AI excels in recognizing patterns and offering helpful nudges. In the rhythm of daily work, where meetings, deadlines, and responsibilities collide, AI can serve as your timekeeper and organizer.
Smart calendars (like Google Calendar AI features) suggest the best time to schedule meetings based on everyone’s availability.
AI-powered to-do apps, such as Motion or Reclaim, automatically rearrange your tasks based on priority and urgency.
Voice assistants like Siri, Google Assistant, or Alexa can set reminders, send messages, or even schedule calls—hands-free.
And yet, as with all tools, the key is intentionality. AI can help manage your time—but only you decide what is worthy of your time.
3. Data Analysis: Turning Numbers into Knowledge
In nearly every industry, data flows like a river—but it takes a wise hand to channel it. AI tools can analyze, interpret, and visualize data far faster than any human.
Spreadsheets: Tools like Excel’s Copilot or Google Sheets’ AI formulas help clean, sort, and extract insights from raw data.
Dashboards and BI tools: Power BI, Tableau, or Looker use AI to generate trends, forecasts, and outliers in your business performance.
Predictive analytics: From sales forecasts to inventory planning, AI models help you anticipate outcomes and make data-backed decisions.
Still, the careful worker remembers: data is not destiny. AI shows patterns, but human judgment interprets their meaning.
4. Creativity and Design: The Muse Has Circuits
One might think creativity is sacred ground, untouched by code—but lo! AI is now a collaborator even in the realm of imagination.
Design assistance: Canva’s Magic Design, Adobe Firefly, and Figma plugins now use AI to suggest layouts, fonts, or graphics.
Image generation: Tools like DALL·E or Midjourney can create concept art or illustrations from a simple text prompt.
Video editing: Descript and Pictory allow you to cut, trim, and caption video content with minimal technical skill.
Use AI not to replace your voice, but to amplify it. Think of it as a chorus—not the soloist.
5. Research and Learning: A Study Companion
The pace of knowledge grows faster than any one mind can follow. Here, AI becomes a guide, helping us find what we seek and understand it more clearly.
Search reimagined: Perplexity.ai or Bing Copilot summarize research findings, cite sources, and explain topics in plain terms.
Note-taking tools: Apps like Notion AI or Mem can summarize meetings, highlight important points, or organize your thoughts.
Language learning: Duolingo, ChatGPT, and other platforms now help you practice vocabulary, grammar, or even roleplay conversations.
But beware the trap of convenience. Let not AI do your thinking for you. Let it only help you think better.
6. Customer Service and Sales: Faster Response, Warmer Tone
In businesses large and small, AI reshapes how we serve others.
Chatbots: Platforms like Intercom, Tidio, or Zendesk AI answer common customer questions instantly, reducing wait times.
Email replies: Gmail’s Smart Reply or ChatGPT integrations help generate polite, quick responses to routine inquiries.
CRM tools: AI in Salesforce or HubSpot predicts which leads are most likely to convert, helping sales teams prioritize outreach.
Still, there is no substitute for empathy. AI can simulate kindness—but only you can embody it.
7. Code and Development: The Digital Apprentice
For developers and engineers, AI is like having a patient tutor by your side.
Code suggestion: GitHub Copilot and Amazon CodeWhisperer can autocomplete code, spot errors, or explain what a block of code does.
Debugging: ChatGPT can walk you through bug reports or offer solutions in real-time.
Learning new languages: From Python to Rust, AI can help you grasp syntax, functions, and logic quickly.
Yet let not AI rob you of struggle. Sometimes the hard way is the path to deeper understanding.
8. Administrative Tasks: Automate the Mundane
Repetitive, low-value tasks are perfect candidates for automation.
Data entry: AI-powered tools can scan receipts, extract data from forms, and input it into spreadsheets.
Email sorting: AI can prioritize, label, or even draft automatic responses.
Document creation: Need a contract, invoice, or template? AI can generate documents based on your needs and legal templates.
The clerical becomes creative when AI handles the repetitive, freeing you to focus on higher pursuits.
Proceed with Wisdom: Not All That Glitters…
For all its promise, AI must be used with care:
Check for accuracy: AI can hallucinate or misinform. Always verify important content.
Guard your privacy: Sensitive data shared with AI tools may not be secure unless you use trusted, compliant platforms.
Stay human: The greatest risk is not misuse—but overuse. Preserve your unique voice, values, and vision.
Final Thoughts: The Ancient and the New
To use AI in our daily work is not to surrender our craft, but to enhance it. Like fire, it can warm or burn. Like a sword, it can protect or wound. But wielded with discernment, it can help us reclaim time, focus on purpose, and create more meaningfully.
Let us not be dazzled nor fearful. Let us instead be intentional. For in our daily work—writing, planning, building, healing—the human touch must still guide the hand of the machine.
And in that sacred balance, we do not lose ourselves—we rediscover what only we can do.

Meet Your Digital Twin: The Rise of Hyper-Realistic AI Avatars
If you had told me a few years ago that I could turn a simple idea into a fully animated, speaking avatar in minutes, I’d have thought you were describing a scene from a sci-fi movie. But today, with AI avatar video creator tools, it’s not just possible — it’s easy, fun, and surprisingly realistic. Whether you want to create a virtual speaking avatar for a business presentation, a 3D anime avatar creator for personal branding, or experiment with Agentic AI avatars that can hold intelligent conversations, the technology is now at your fingertips.
The Magic of Realistic AI-Driven Characters
Tumblr media
I once tested a Human Avatar Plugin that allowed me to upload my own photo, adjust facial features, and then watch it speak my script. The result was so accurate, my friends thought I’d secretly recorded a video myself.
Why Browser-Based Avatars Are a Game-Changer
I’ve experimented with several browser-based avatars, and honestly, the convenience is unbeatable. You don’t need heavy installations or technical know-how — just open your browser, choose your style, and start building. This is especially great for remote teams or creators who want quick access to tools without downloading massive software packages.
The fact that you can combine these with avatar generator online platforms means you can design your look, voice, and animations all from one place. It’s creativity without the technical headache.
Bringing Your Ideas to Life in 3D
I’m a huge fan of experimenting with 3D avatar creation software. The level of customization is incredible — you can adjust hairstyles, clothing, expressions, and even motion styles. And if you’re into animation aesthetics, 3D anime avatar creator tools are an absolute delight.
Tumblr media
The Rise of Virtual Speaking Avatars in Business
In the professional world, virtual speaking avatar are becoming a must-have for presentations, explainer videos, and customer service interactions. Imagine delivering a multilingual business pitch without having to record yourself in different languages — the avatar handles the translation and speech for you.
Paired with Agentic AI avatars, these tools can also answer questions in real time, creating a more engaging and personalized experience for viewers.
Creative Uses for Avatar Video AI Generators
The beauty of an avatar video AI generator is its versatility. I’ve seen them used for:
E-learning tutorials with lifelike instructors
Social media content featuring animated characters
Interactive storytelling for games
Corporate training modules with realistic conversation AI agents
With the right setup, you can take your avatar generator online design and animate it instantly, ready for YouTube, TikTok, or any platform where you want to stand out.
The Personal Joy of Digital Self-Expression
For me, working with Human Avatar Plugin tools isn’t just about functionality — it’s also deeply personal. The ability to capture my personality in an avatar, tweak it with 3D avatar creation software, and then see it speak my words feels like blending art and technology into one.
And while I love creating professional characters for clients, I’ve also made playful versions of myself with 3D anime avatar creator apps — because who says work can’t be fun?
The Future Is Hyper-Realistic
The rapid growth of Realistic Multimodal Agents services tells me one thing: this technology isn’t slowing down. Soon, Agentic AI avatars will not just talk — they’ll remember past conversations, understand emotions, and adapt their personalities in real time.
As browser-based avatars and avatar video AI generator tools become more advanced, the gap between digital and human communication will shrink even further. Whether for marketing, education, or personal creativity, the possibilities are limitless.
Final Thoughts
Turning ideas into avatars and videos is no longer a dream — it’s a skill anyone can learn today. With AI avatar video creator platforms, virtual speaking avatar tools, and 3D avatar creation software, you can create lifelike characters that inspire, entertain, and engage.
If you’ve been curious about trying avatar generator online tools or exploring Realistic Multimodal Agents, now is the perfect time. Your next big idea might just come to life in the form of a talking, moving, AI-powered persona. And trust me — it’s as thrilling as it sounds.

reasons not to use generative ai (forgive the non-clickable links. Im on the mobile browser):
Its an insane energy drain
https://www.wired.com/story/ai-energy-demands-water-impact-internet-hyper-consumption-era/
Its probably wrong
https://tech.co/news/list-ai-failures-mistakes-errors
You don't learn. I cant find the kind of article I want on this one, but I've got one on why learning is important and some thoughts, just briefly, based on my experiences and discussions with educators:
https://www.edutopia.org/neuroscience-brain-based-learning-neuroplasticity
You learn by *doing*. You learn by *engaging*.
When you read a book and write a report on it, you're synthesizing information; processing the story and the structure and the metaphors, and forming options about all of that. You're learning how to organize your thoughts in ways that can be understood and you're learning when to include citations to give weight to your conclusions. Sure, students have been skimming books and using spark notes for ages, but even taking the information from summaries and using the prompts provided by sparknotes/etc still requires you to form those ideas into an arguement.
In math, a calculator is a tool. The fancy ones can do all sorts of processes for you, including some 300-400 level calculations...but generally you still have to understand enough of those calculations to input them correctly. And if you're given a scenario, you have to translate the data into calculations. Real world applications? Literally any research science position. Marketing and sales too. Tons of jobs require you to collect data and turn that into useable information. Public health? Lab scientists and epidemiologists have an absurd amount of data that has to be wrangled into decisions that have major and very noticeable effects on peoples lives.
Plugging scenarios with data points into generative ai just shows that you lack the understanding of what you're doing, and that you're willing to risk a fancy bit of code misinterpreting the information you feed it.
Feeding an essay prompt into generative ai removes all mental burden from your workload...and you don't create any of the neurological pathways that actually having your own thoughs create.
ur future nurse is using chapgpt to glide thru school u better take care of urself
