So chapter 115 came out today and it made me want to make a tumblr theory/analysis account for bsd so here we go… (spoilers under cut)
-FYI: I use mangadex to read the chapters if that’s of any importance-
-These are just a theories and analysis I could be very wrong-
First off I would like to talk about this panel.

The meaning and importance of the knightly vow:
When Fyodor takes over Bram’s body he states that he inherited Bram’s ‘knightly vow to protect my princess’. From this, I believe it is safe to assume when Fyodor takes over Bram’s body, Fyodor has inherited Bram’s one motivation, to protect her daughter, Aya. But just because he inherited this new goal, it won’t stop Fyodor from trying to erase all abilities.
I would like to circle this to ‘Crime and Punishment’ by Fyodor Dostoyevsky (the real author). The main character in this book commits a murder (crime) and suffers the consequences (punishment). I think this pattern of crime and punishment can be paralleled two times in Fyodor. 1: Someone murders Fyodor (crime) they die by getting their body overtaken (punishment). 2: Fyodor takes over the body of the killer (crime) Fyodor then gains a new motive that would make the other motives he has hard to accomplish (punishment).
Then Fyodor also goes ahead and admits that the world war 36 years from now was a lie. And I thought it was kind of funny since I googled what the meaning of the number 36 is. Apparently 36 is linked to success which is convenient since the lie was successful. And having a world war happen would be, not successful for most of society.

Ok but the implication that Fyodor inherits the personality traits of the people who kill him is extremely messed up when you think about it. And considering how old he is it's very likely his original personality has been completely taken over by this point, honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Fyodor doesn't actually have a grand master plan but is instead working with a hodgepodge of half baked ideas culminated by his past vessels over the centuries.
Especially when you consider that these new desirers seem to effect him strongly, with him not giving two shits about Aya until he took over Bram and now suddenly he's yandere levels obsessed with her.

based on what fukuchi said regarding the one order, fyodor can't use it. the one order has already been configured to fukuzawa. it's not clear that fyodor knows this (although it's explicit that fukuchi didn't trust fyodor).
it's also telling that fukuchi comments that fyodor wouldn't be able to interfere. he doesn't clarify with what fyodor wouldn't be able to interfere. (such as, for example, fukuchi reconfiguring the one order against fyodor's conception of the plan.) it's also relevant that fukuchi says "no one else could have thought it up," indicating he understands, to some degree, fyodor's genre of strategic reasoning. surely, then, he's picked up on fyodor's overt blind spots regarding others' capacity for trust and subversion based on trust.
that fyodor can't command the one order renders fyodor's threat moot, although nevertheless informative.
because if the one order coordinates all of the users' subordinates, then anyone subordinate to fukuzawa could be commanded by fukuzawa. bram, shortly before fyodor took him, pledged himself as a knight to aya, even forsaking his prior title to subordinate himself to her.
his subordination to aya is so deeply ingrained that fyodor even still calls her princess and affirms that the vow remains.
in other words, all aya has to do to give fukuzawa control over the vampires. is subordinate herself to fukuzawa. vow with her whole, fierce heart that she is his to command. or, fukuzawa can reconfigure the one order to respond to her voice; if fukuchi was able to transition the authority he was granted to use it to fukuzawa, then fukuzawa should similarly be able to do the same.
tl:dr, the one order is useless in fyodor's hands, and, together, fukuchi's love for and trust in fukuzawa and bram's love for and trust in aya are a chekov's gun.

what if the reason fyodor wants abilities eliminated is bcz he's genuinely fucking despises being unable to die [he's supposed to mirror or think like dazai so him being sucidal (either bcz he's had enough of life or never liked it or met someone who he did care about like oda to dazai only to watch them too perish while he lived on or bcz like dazai he initally found it meaningless and unlike dazai he never had someone to show him differently) would make sense] and he's seen so much evil happen that he blames on the existence of abilities and how people use/abuse abilities and ability users.
so if he eliminates abilities he'll be able to get rid of what he thinks is an great source of evil.
he'll also finally be able to be done with the pain of living again and again (while everyone else doesn't).
and that way even if dazai or the ada somehow kill him at least he's achieved part of his goal (eliminate all abilities/their users including him)
that would also mean if dazai decided to kill him and also died in the process it would count as a double suicide since both are suicidal, which also sorta maybe makes fyozai canonish.

This new chapter got me thinking about how "promises" in BSD seem to have some kind of power that trancends the minds/bodies of the people who make them. First there was Akutagawa, who kept his promise not to kill anyone even after being turned into a vampire and supposedly losing all him will. (he was also confirmed dead before he was turned, so there really shouldn't be any of his mind left in his body).

When it was just this chapter I thought it was meant to show that Akutagawa wasn't entirely under Fukuchi's control and that he was fighting the vampire infection. But with this new chapter I feel like their is something much bigger going on.
When Fyodor takes over Brams body he says that Brams vow to protect Aya still exists within his body so he cannot hurt her or let anyone else hurt her. Obviously Fyodor has no reason to protect Aya so there is clearly a actual, tangible force making him keep that promise, something that goes beyond Brams body and mind.
We don't have enough information to know what that force is and how it works, but it makes you think, what about the other major "promises" of BSD? How are they affected by this? Like say... Dazai's promise to Odasaku.

I'd really like if Fyodor kept some personality aspects of the people he posesses just like with bram. I want him to have completely lost his sense of self and i want him to question every emotion he has, if it's really his own and i want Nikolai to relate bc he also sees himself bound by human emotions :D

THEORY: Abilities, The Fourth Dimension, and Gozen.
A small preface! Several points in this you could probably start throwing rocks at me and say that I'm reaching too hard and/or thinking about this too deeply and/or that I'm wrong. Most of the way through this I’ve felt like I’ve put on a tinfoil hat and have flown off the rails and phased through onto the other face of the flat earth(/j).
-----
The main focus of this entire theory is that abilities are directly related to the fourth dimension.
Abilities And the Natural Laws They Break:
Facts to note:
The fourth dimension is time.
Several abilities deal with time, space, and/or matter (and gravity if you want to count that.)
And some examples of those abilities are:
Space abilities:
“Space related abilities” refer to abilities that affect a space or create a space that goes against existing 3rd dimensional constraints—length, width, height—either in intercepting a space or creating its own space. For example (and one of the best examples of this), Lucy.
(BSD Chapter 15, ~ Page 36)
Other space ability users include: Rimbaud, Poe, Louisa, Nikolai, Kunikida, Akutagawa, and Tanizaki. Some more so than others (Lucy, Poe, Tanizaki, Akutagawa). For some it only loosely applies or needs some justification/explanation for it to apply (Kunikida, Louisa). The best examples by FAR are Lucy and Poe.
Time abilities:
“Time related abilities” refer to abilities that break normal laws of time. I.e. by slowing it down/stopping it, repeating it, speeding it up, etc. Some ability users have abilities that deal with both space and time (again, prime example being Lucy ) usually by having an ability that creates or inhabits its own space with its own time.
Other time ability users include: Louisa, the Meursault cat-girl, Oda, and POSSIBLY Teruko depending on how you look at it.
Matter abilities:
“Matter related abilities” refer to a LOT of abilities in bsd. Any ability that allows someone to shapeshift, create something, destroy something, or change something is matter related. A lot of these abilities likely even go against the law of conservational mass; however, they might not if given the correct explanation.
For example: Akutagawa. You could argue the matter is not being created with his ability(though it's unlikely) and that the extensions from his coat are still the same mass as the part of the coat it’s from. This could be achieved by Rashomon becoming less dense and more fluid in relation of how far away it’s stretched from Akutagawa’s coat. And because his ability is said to be able to cut through space itself, that would also count as a space related ability.
And for an example of an ability that most definitely breaks the law of conservation of mass, is Thou Shalt Not Die. Sense her ability can heal things like lost limbs, blood loss (S1 Tanizaki, S4 Kenji), etc., matter must be created for her ability to work. You could not give an explanation like Akutagawa’s, because her ability results in injuries being fully healed and that part of the body remaining functional.
Other matter ability users include: Atsushi, Kyouka, Kouyou, Fyodor, Pushkin, Ivan, Shibusawa, Natsume, Mushitaro, Tetcho, Melville, Jouno, Steinbeck, Mori, Lovecraft, and Teruko (again, depending on how you look at it).
Teruko’s ability:
Teruko’s ability could be argued to either be a matter ability, or a matter AND time ability. On one hand, it could be taking the actual previous and future ages of the person she’s using her ability on (kind of like Mirai from TBHK iirc). In this case, it would be a time and matter related ability. On the other hand, it could just be changing the person’s physical appearance and anatomy based on factors unrelated to the actual “keyframes” past or future of that person's life. In this case, it would only be a matter related ability.
-----
How Abilities Work:
Abilities are, as previously stated, directly related to the fourth dimension. That's what gives them the ability to manipulate 4th Dimensional and 3rd Dimensional elements like time, space, and matter.
Each ability is it's own very niche gateway to interacting with and breaking basic structures and laws of the third and/or fourth dimension.
-----
Dazai and Gozen:
Gozen:
Quick circle back to Fyodor:
What confused me for so long about his plan is why is he wanting to manually kill off/start war against all ability users instead of using the page(<- probably dysfunctional) to get rid of abilities? If he truly wants to purge the world of “sin” (abilities) then why kill the people who didn’t even choose to have an ability (/who didn’t choose to be exploited by the government)? Why not get rid of the problem itself: abilities?
And a possibility is that ability users would die without their abilities. If he simply writes abilities themselves out of existence and ends up getting all ability users killed, then to him it would've essentially been like killing a ton of innocent people. He's antagonizing them for his own sake as well as for his plan to group everyone together through a common enemy/fear.
And then there’s how the deaths from Gozen’s sword are portrayed.
Which circles to “why the bubbles?” For one, it's a way for the death to be more easily communicated to the reader. Simply drawing a character just lying in a puddle of their own blood can be easily misinterpreted as them simply being heavily injured but not dead yet. The bubbles are a stylistic choice to show that there’s a difference in the nature of deaths caused by Gozen compared to any other way of dying.
The “death” that Gozen gives to whoever he kills is not essentially just death itself. The heart doesn’t stop, the body doesn’t die, and the brain is still intact up until it gets turned into bubbles.
Gozen severs the connection between the ability user and their ability. And given that:
Gozen is a fourth dimensional being
Fukuchi’s ability
Fyodor’s objective to kill ability users + his control over Gozen’s actions(and therefore how Gozen interacts with the 4th dimension)
Gozen is perfectly capable of severing the ability-ability user connection. With access to the fourth dimension, the strength (Fukuchi’s ability) to cut that connection, and the will and instructions (Fyodor) to do it, it could be possible that that’s how Gozen is killing off ability users.
(BSD Chapter 115, ~ Page 30)
Dazai:
Given how abilities work, I propose that Dazai's ability can be summed up as being like an enzyme inhibitor but for abilities.
And Gozen's killing mechanism and Dazai's ability are really fucking similar. Gozen permanently severs the ability, whereas Dazai temporarily inhibits the ability.
However one piece of evidence I can provide is that Dazai's ability relies on him DIRECTLY touching the ability user or the physical mass of the ability. His ability places a temporary blocker to stop the connection between the ability user and their ability, which requires that either the physical manifestation of the ability or the ability user's body is touched so that the blocker can actually have an affect and therefore nullify the ability. And this is why Dazai's ability does no harm to the ability user, but Gozen's does.
Dazai's ability never permanently harms or changes the connection between an ability and ability user. Gozen's, however, does.
And this whole theory arguably makes Fyozai even gayer. What do you mean that you ensured that the killing mechanism of the divine being you smushed together is just an amplified version of your ex's ability?? gayass.
(small little addition to this theory)
TLDR: Abilities operate in the fourth dimension. Gozen kills by severing the connection between an ability user(3rd dimension) and their ability (4th dimension). Dazai’s ability(temporarily blocks the connection between an ability user and their ability, kind of like an enzyme inhibitor) is a toned-down version of Gozen’s killing mechanism.

when i think about where the anime left off…

2 hours later
…i can’t stop thinking about this part of the s5 op

• Fukuchi + pages (of the book?)
• a hand ominously dropping a book (the book?)
• sskk charging into a fight
• the clock in the background
who do we know who deals with time travel?
and this is the last thing we heard from her 👀

the clock could just be symbolic of Amenogozen… but i’d love to see Wells make a reappearance since it’s relevant to her ability
it would also be a perfect time to tie in 55 Minutes (a more sskk focused light novel), & make another callback to the Order of the Clock Tower
i personally think 55 Minutes needs to be animated before Stormbringer, bc there’s so much foreshadowing & world building in it that’s important to Stormbringer
#i know it’s unlikely but i’d love to see a Verlaine + Wells team up#i love wells#also i’m not saying 55 Minutes is about sskk. just that there are important scenes for them in it#this is a half baked thought but. maybe someone else can make something of it#rambling about bsd again#bsd#bungou stray dogs#bsd meta#bsd analysis#bsd theories#bsd season 5#bsd 55 minutes#bsd 115#bsd wells#bsd atsushi#bsd aktugawa#bsd fukuchi#h g wells#atsushi nakajima#akutagawa ryuunosuke#fukuchi ouchi#bsd season 5 op

BSD 115 theory!!
Or why Teruko is alive and how that connects with why Fyodor created ‘Fukuchi’ and why Atsushi and Akutugawa have to fight this monster alone.
1. Teruko’s death
So Teruko’s death while horrific struck me as a bit odd. We can see that when ‘Fukuchi’ stabs her in the forehead that she turns into a liquid.

Further, she turns into bubbles when ‘Fukuchi’ sucks her up almost like drinking a liquid. But why? If turning her into a liquid killed her why would he need to drink her?

2. Fyodor’s goal and ‘Fukuchi’s new power
One of the only things we know about Fyodor at this point is his goal of ridding the world of abilities which is the reason he probably created the triple singularity from Fukuchi in the first place.

So what if the power of this singularity is to seal (and maybe utilise??) abilities within it similar to how the holy sword sealed Bram. This would make sense as it would be a big help in accomplishing Fyodor’s goal of ridding the world of abilities. Something that makes me think this is the case If it was just to kill all ability users why would ‘Fukuchi’ need to drink the body
But there’s a catch. Couldn’t he just kill them and take their abilities. I mean there’s no reason to think that just because ‘Fukuchi’ stole her ability she’d be alive.
3. Akutugawa’s words to Atsushi

Akutugawa’s words to Atsushi seem ridiculous not just because of how overpowered ‘Fukuchi’ is but because they can’t be the only ones that would want to fight this thing.
Akutugawa is friendless and doesn’t have many allies in the vicinity, but shouldn’t the port mafia be able to get there eventually to help. It’s the same for the ADA and with Atsushi, I know most of them are locked up, but wouldn’t Kyouka at least try to get to Atsushi and would Kenji really sleep through this. Even if the ADA and PM are all MIA, you’re telling me that the government wouldn’t try to send someone or no other ability user would intervene? We know that Agatha tried to nuke Yokohama over what happened in dead apple and this seems like a worse event.
Regardless, no matter what it seems unlikely that they’re the only ones that would want to fight ‘Fukuchi’. No explanation seems plausible for why they’d be the ones to try. So what if the people who tried to intervene and fight ‘Fukuchi’ just got drunk up like Teruko. This explanation makes more sense as it explains why they’d be the only ones there without just saying that everyone else called in sick.
Atsushi and Akutugawa would be able to survive as Atsushi’s ability can cut through other abilities and Akutugawa can cut through space making them the only ones that have a chance of redirecting the liquifying hits.
This would also mean that because you can’t just kill everyone that got drunk, there is a likely chance that the souls that got drunk by ‘Fukuchi’ can come back when he’s defeated. This would mean that Teruko could come back!
4 Asagiri’s loves deathbaits
Even if this whole post seems like ridiculous copium (it is) my man Asagiri can death bait his way out of anything, there have been over 20 death baits in the last arc why should he stop here? Even, if Teruko is unlikely to be alive because they are a redhead and a child, two of the most unlucky bsd demographics, I believe there is still hope (until the next chapter where I’m proven horribly wrong.)

(Go down for the point lol I just rant)
-I've seen a few posts speculating about Fyodor's eyes and the symbolism of how bsd the darker the characters eyes the more dark their intentions are.
-Some people pointed out that Fyodor's eyes are kinda all over the place some panels his eyes are a faded dark color in others they are a lighter shade and there was only 1 or 2 panels with him having completely black eyes.
-My theory is that Fyodor was never truly himself (well he was at one point but I'm assuming that goes way back) and his conscious is still there but I'd like to point out that so is the previous person's who is the original owner of the body he stole.
-We found that out in the newest chapter 115. (Spoilers btw lmao) The point I'm trying to make is that I think the reason his eyes change in different ways that don't quite make sense, is because it's the lingering consciousness of the previous person's vessel.
-He trys to block out the mind of the body he stole but its not his original body so even though he trys to gain complete control of the mind and body, it's never really possible. (Or if it is it might take a little time to adjust)
-Conclusion: The eyes change because it's the previous body's mind fighting for control.
I could do a deep dive but I'm to lazy lol

How can we defeat Fyodor?
Contains spoilers for Bungou Stray Dog chapter 115 (114.5)
As we learned from the previous chapter: Fyodor becomes the person who kills him.
Now, with this information let's come up with possible ways we can kill him:
Dazai. He's the most obvious choice right now, he'll be able to cancel Fyodor s ability and will be able to kill him.
Suicide. This could lead to a Shibusawa incident 2.0. But it's also a way that we could kill him, after all, he can't take over the body that killed him, if the body is his... Right?
The Book. This could easily backfire, and make the writer of the book be taken over. But assuming that The Book grants you immunity to Fyodor's ability, you could easily just write in "Fyodor Dostovey never got his ability" if The Book doesn't grant you immunity you could easily write "(insert name here) is immune to Fyodor Dostovey's ability" and you can kill him.
Nature. If Fyodor dies in an earthquake or something, since there was no one trying to kill him, and because the vampire that killed him was seen more as a weapon leading him to take over Bram (ISTG IF YOU HURT MY SUBSTITUTE FATHER FIGURE... *ahem* anyways...) By being killed by nature, Fyodor's ability won't activate. (And let's face it, if it can activate and he becomes the whole ass Earth or something, I think we have bigger problems to worry about.)
Someone with no intentions or interest in killing him. This is extremely unlikely but, the vampire that killed Fyodor wasn't taken over because they were more similar to a "weapon" that killed him. The actual person who wanted to kill him was Bram. That's why he took over Bram. Well what if, there was someone who just stabbed him? No intent to kill, no orders to kill him, not even aware on what the just did, they just stabbed him for no reason. Would his ability affect them? (Probably)
Those are currently all my theories, the most probable ones are probably the Dazai, and Book one.
Also, I assume that Fyodor's probably immune to aging, because I'm 90% sure, that the person he used to be (before Bram) was the same guard who killed him almost 100 years ago.

Sigma Villain Theory‼️
Created by my friend Finney @lfinneyxx (on tiktok)
Bsd manga spoilers
My friend has a theory about Sigma. What if Sigma is actually an important villain?
We know he was created by the book, it still wasn't said who created him, but we think it may be Fyodor. Fyodor, himself said that Sigma has amnesisa, that would actually make sense because what if Fyodor used him before, and then removed Sigmas memories? He woke up in the desert then without any memories, he didn't even know who he was.

In the chapter, where Sigma found the russian note from Fyodor, he could read it. He understood what it meant. Why could Sigma read russian? That's another reason that Fyodor created Sigma perhaps. Ofcourse it can be that someone else created him, and Sigma has the ability to understand all languages. I personally dont think so though.

And I am pretty sure that Fyodor didn't teach Sigma russian. They probably didn't spend long time with eachother.
I know that Fyodor's plan was actually to dispose of Sigma, the plan was that Sigma should actually have died, when the Hunting Dogs came to him. But you know already, Nikolai saved him. Finney said the reason why Fyodor probably shows his memories to Sigma, is because so he can find out who he is, and Fyodor wants to use Sigma in his plan then.
