I was talking to my sister (probably weeks ago) about anime and I realized I always set out to watch the ones everyone loves recently cause DUH but I literally never do. IDC about Naruto, Spy x Family, Kaguya-sama, Komi, Jojo's, JJK, BNHA, AoT, ETC. Only mentioning cause they're the shows with the most fans as of recently. Uhhh I watched a few eps of Tokyo Ghoul, same w/ Soul Eater and Death Note and Noragami (this one I do wanna watch eventually) and BSD. I can't think of any popular others that I haven't watched.

The ones I have watched: OPM (te amo Saitama. remember nothing tho), Haikyuu!! (up to 3rd season maybe, I forgor but I want to remember 💔), KnY (was OK), Wonder Egg Priority (don't remember the end), Yuru Camp (love SoL), HxH (both 1999 AND 2011 in their entireties), Horimiya (NEED to watch S2), Eizouken (silly), Hanako-kun (remember none of it), Kakegurui (both seasons, I watched w/ my sister), MP100 (S1 & 2, probably rewatch b4 S3), CSM (funny. Denji te quiero), Erased (it was good IDC), Kill la Kill (2015 Dante was built different), Yuri on Ice (vamos maricones), Ososan (funny), Owari no Seraph (Yoichi te quiero), Mirai Nikki (it was fun IDC).

LIKE I have watched my fair share of "popular" anime but out of that list I liked ummm lemme count. 7/18. enough to remember anything about them. It's pretty hit & miss to the point I don't even know what to watch anymore 😭 it's been so long since I last finished an anime. SAD.

reading drown made me remember how much music personally means to me. i used to have a hard time sleeping back in 6th grade to the point that it badly affected my studies bc for some reason im wide awake at night, felt tired but still fully awake which made me unable to focus in school. so of course i researched what i can do since i didnt want to tell my parents (nasa google kaya lahat 😌) long story short, try listening to music daw 😭 so i did bUT since listening to music wasnt really my hobby, i didnt know what type i should start off and at that time, kpop just recently became big LMAO it was like around 2017 i think. so i liSTENED TO EXO since it was the group that i have been hearing around school AHAHAHAHA the song was baby, dont cry btw. it worked surprisingly, music does calm one's nerves. i didnt understand the lyrics ofc but just by the melody, it made everything around me peaceful. whenever i feel anxious, sad, or stressed, music is the way to go :"> SO EON STORY KO PANO AKO NAGING KPOP FAN 😭😭😭 parinig aq ng iyo po 🙇

AH the pacing in bsd is kinda off imo? Im only really noticing it in season 2 tho. And I hate the fact I don't really care about many of the characters, theyre either really op and way too smart or I dont know them? Chuuya and Dazai are cool, the dude in Dazais flashback was RLY cool and the pres is one of my favs lmfao but I dont really care about the others, not even the villains? I havent seen any kind of development? I like the anime but im so disconnected lmfao

Sadly the incest is just a thing you have to ignore T-T I don’t know why but my favourite anime tend to have incest on the side (like with Kururi and Mairu in durarara!!) when it just isn’t needed. I think the incest was supposed to represent the book of the author that Tanizaki is based off of? I think the book he wrote two lovers who had to pretend to be siblings? (I’m not sure). At least it’s not too in your face about it.

And don’t worry! I’m pretty sure Kyouka and Atsushi do just have a sibling relationship! Or well, most of the fandom interpret it that way due to their age difference (she’s 14 and he’s 18).

I can understand what you say about the pacing, I’m not entirely sure why it’s the way it is either. Maybe because they needed to fit so much into only 12 episodes? Or maybe the manga and light novels are the same way. Much to think about that.

Also, it’s a shame to hear you’re not too connected to most of the characters. Personally I really love most of them myself though I do wish some of them would get more development and screentime. I also don’t really mind the OP powers because I think it makes the story enjoyable, plus they don’t overly rely on them as a scapegoat (though Ranpo’s abilities do cut it close from time to time).

And there is a reason why Akutagawa and Atsushi team up so often! Dazai purposely makes them work together to create a team like the one that he and Chuuya used to make up! And because Akutagawa is still trying to live up to Dazai’s expectations, he doesn’t protest as much even though he personally hates it.

And yeah, the presidents ability could have been hinted at a little more. Maybe Atsushi wondering why he was gaining control over his power so quickly or the like? There are many things the anime could have done better.

It’s a flawed mess but I really love it T-T

Vent: so I'm a new coming fan of bsd and I've watched up to at least ep 7 so far and like I thought Atsushi and Akutagawa were 16. I played around on google (read: reading spoilers) and I— I found out ATSUSHI WAS 18. AKUTAGAWA IS 20. AGDGFGD I literally was calling them babies but I'm literally right in between them. I'm 19. Akutagawa is older. I called him a kid. I feel so dumb at this discovery.

Loooool, same though. When I first watched it, I thought Atsushi looked, what, 15? 16 at the most?? 😂😂 And I automatically assumed Akutagawa would be the same age, (i remember thinking this goth baby is dripping with teenage angst 😂) so that's what I thought for the longest time.

Imagine my surprise when I finally visited the wiki page and found that Atsushi is just as old as me, and Aku is even older(!) That still doesn't stop me from looking at them as soft babies tho, haha
