Tfw you keep seeing the same person vagueposting about your friend, whom they treated shittily, and the overwhelming urge to post the entire conversation of them being an abhorrent, boundary-stomping jerkwad for the Trollhunters fandom to see in case this person has been badmouthing said friend to others, and to only be held back by the knowledge that it might make friendo upset if I were to post the screenshots without her approval...
Just let it be known that if a certain villain stan in the Trollhunters fandom is talking any sort of shit about Goldie in people's DMs, please know that this person is an unreliable narrator and is literally the only person Goldie's ever had to straight-up block due to them CONSTANTLY overstepping boundaries and trying to twist her words in an attempt to make her sound horrible. Normally I wouldn't comment publicly on this at all, since it happened over a year ago and there should be no reason to still be bringing it up, but the fact that I just saw ANOTHER vaguepost about the situation that was posted merely a month ago makes me worry that they might also be talking shit about her in DMs if they're still hung up about it after THIS long. And I don't like the idea of somebody doing that to my friend with severe mental health struggles who isn't even around to defend herself these days. :/

Has Therianblr seen this yet?
Uh oh here we go folks...
And it's already getting laughed at, Wonderful!
I'm not Therian or kin but it Generally annoys me when the local populace bullies a community it barely knows just because it's "different"
Nobody is hurting anyone here why can't you just let them be?
Not to sound like I've lost faith in humanity here but seriously, the better species huh?
This is a pro Therian/kin/system (and spinoffs like lycanthropes etc) zone, dont like it, block me! It's as simple as that!

I just watched Brno 2005 because of your race notes post and I have to say sete seems like a yapper. The entire race the commentators are breaking down all the quotes he gave them about how he was approaching this race, where he was gonna pass, how he set up his bike for a specific section, like if they are to be believed sete was giving the game away for free?? Which funny as hell but maybe didn’t him help in his attempts to win races???
dude, he's so funny. I've mostly been sticking to an editorial line that makes sete come across as a serious operator for #agenda purposes, but man he is such a yapper. way too invested in image management, which unfortunately properly fucked with him in 2005 - a deeply undignified season where you just end up in a bit of a downward spiral if you're more concerned with explaining why valentino is beating you than you are with, idk, beating him. the pinnacle of his yap tendencies was still that bloody three hour interview with australian podcast bro, where there really were some generational levels of waffling from both parties. a lot of it was very
anyway yeah brno 2005 is great for that. reminds me a bit about the catalunya 2009 jorge situation, which I have now talked at length about but still drives me up the wall a bit - in some ways it's less egregious than sete's behaviour, in some ways it's more so, but don't go around telling journalists before the race that you've won as long as you're ahead going into the final few corners?? OBVIOUSLY jorge was setting himself up for no good reason, but also if you're valentino and you literally pulled off an overtake at the final corner two years earlier and you hear about this, don't your ears just prick up a little!! wouldn't you be just a little bit inspired!! and with sete... his openness, how well-spoken and fluent he was in english plus his general affability did make him popular with reporters, an advantage he held over Certain other valentino rivals. still, there's a difference between giving engaging answers and spilling your entire game plan?? valentino I think was always really good at managing this, like all his answers in pressers sound interesting and are informative, but if you read over them again you do clock that he's not actually told you anything that could possibly be used to harm him. whereas sete... buddy, I promise you valentino really does not need any extra help beating you. cut it out. shut up

y'know what. people are very predictable sometimes. everyone was complaining and promising to boycott the live action ATLA, especially after the original ATLA show runners left due to creative differences. but I knew the moment we got the actors in costume and trailers and decent-looking CGI, all the critics would fold just like that. And yeah, they all folded. You could bring up the same points you brought up 6 months ago and get booed for not suddenly liking the idea of a live action ATLA like everyone else. how about people not be predictable about popular IP and stick to their guns for once.

It's wild how on one side of my dash I see people talking about the real issues of transmasc erasure, "you're taking our lesbians away" terf rhetoric, and the ways that trans men are expected to accept ostracisation within leftist spaces without ever advocating for themselves...
Meanwhile on the other side, I see lots of "The MRA's are back, anyone that speaks about transmasc issues are transmisogynists, if you didn't immediately decide transandrophobia is an invalid concept then you're a bigot" type hysteria and it all just pisses me off.
Like trans men will spend their entire life til now perceived as women, expected to be quiet, expected to obey and be a resource to others without taking up too much space or having needs themselves. And upon realizing they're trans, finding their community, and thinking maybe this is a place they can find some modicum of comfort, the community says "no."
We don't want your voice or your struggles, because it doesn't fall in line with the rhetoric. It's not a part of the theory.
SJ theory generalizes, that's the nature of it. It's used to describe society as a whole, and how systemic oppressions operate. Broad academic theory isn't meant to for you to apply it precisely the same way to the individual.
That's what being intersectional is supposed to be about! You're not supposed to say "well systemically men are oppressors, so this man I just met is actively looking to oppress me" when you meet a homeless black man in a wheel chair.
I'm just so tired of the dynamic where in leftist spaces we can't share our stories and pain because they have to align with our ideas of who's the oppressor or not.
To this day, I feel terrified to open up about the fact that an older woman sexually assaulted me as a teen, because I'm so afraid someone will say I'm just targeting lesbians, or that my story promotes predatory stereotypes and shouldn't be shared. I can't talk about shit like that because I know that outside my closest friends, others in leftists spaces don't want to hear about that.
This is all over the place but I'm just so frustrated. Seeing people that have been boiling over, keeping their mouth shut, playing nice even when it's unfair to them, daring to open their mouths to speak all the while trying to be careful, only to still get attacked and made into bigots.
It's like there's no amount of bowing and saying your troubles are meaningless and insisting other people have it worse that will let you be "allowed" to talk about what hurts you.
We're supposed to be past one-upmanship and oppression olympics, it's not about who's had it worse it's about what we can fucking do about it TOGETHER.
And that means being able to drop your academic theory and shit to engage with the people in your community as fucking human beings. That means being able to seriously consider the validity of criticism instead of knee-jerk rejecting it.
Also please stop accusing literally anyone talking about intra-community bullying of talking over people being killed or shit like that, you know damn well that people are capable of caring about multiple issues
