“The Protectobots’ base is completely separate from the Ark,” he said, speaking slowly to give them all time to uptake the information.

Brawl’s knife made a dull thud as it contacted the surface of the bench and in a disinterested tone he said, “Why do the Protectobots get their own base and we’re stuck here?”

“Yeah,” Vortex flicked a sliver of paint onto the floor, “why can’t we have a base?”

It would do no good now to allow them to get sidetracked, so Onslaught forced down the urge to pull out his blaster and send both of them to the medbay and forged resolutely on.

“It’s completely separate from the Ark, both in its systems and physical distance-”

“I wish I was separate from the Victory,” Blast Off sighed. “I got any high orbit patrols coming up, Boss?”

“Shut up,” Onslaught snapped. “The Protectobot base is completely isolated from the rest of the Autobots, the Ark has no oversight of it at all.”

Swindle paused in not even bothering to hide that he was mouthing along silently to another transmission, to say, “Seems a bit stupid, Boss, anyone could get in there and the other Autobots wouldn’t even know.”

“Yes, Swindle. A very astute observation.” Onslaught thought he deserved an entire decacycle soaking in a hot oil bath for his patience.

He stood in front of the four morons, assuming that any moment now they would figure out the plan and actually engage with him.

“So if there was an attack on the Combaticons’ base, Prime would never find out?”

It was like trying to have a planning session with a rock.

“Yes Brawl,” Onslaught affirmed with the patience of Primus himself. “Provided they couldn’t get any comms out.”

“Huh,” Vortex flicked another scrap of paint onto the growing pile on the floor. “Someone oughta do something with that.”

i'd heard about the variation where odysseus is the son of sisyphus, but i was so surprised that in sophocles' ajax, you've got certain characters saying odyssseus is "from the worthless line of sisyphus", while others call him "child of venerable laertes" (including athena, which should confirm it)

i never realized they're not just elements from separate stories! it's a malicious rumour that odysseus presumably has to contend with on a fairly regular basis!

i don't trust george for the simple reason that he's too prim and proper and educated and polite and good with kids etc but i would not be surprised if he turned out to be this huge creep of a man. he shows signs of that sometimes. the thing, though, is i feel kinda the same way about shannon, the difference is that i love her to bits and would actually love her even more if, after being this sweet and correct and soft spoken girl all the way through, there was some deep dark secret about her and she fucking snapped. i would CHEER if that happened actually. where's shannon's edge??? she needs some

I've been watching The Westward (thank you for that btw, its been really good up to season four so far) and I've noticed that all the dragon characters have different colored horns and powers like you said on your post the other day. Was it like that in the manga perhaps or was it an anime change?

(I'm glad you like it!) But I can't say that the different colored horns was an anime-only choice as there are plenty of different horned dragons within the comic.

Looks like both Ocean Dragons and River Dragons have different colored horns to show which family or sub-family clan they are a part of. I do enjoy how this manga goes into more dragon politics and how that is both connected and disconnected from Heaven's politics.

I haven't caught up with the manga in a while but this ask if a good excuse as any to re-read!

A lot of takes I'm seeing about Kipperlilly are whole cloth made up at best and literally contradict canon at worst

Where are you guys getting that? Because as far as I'm aware she very blatantly *hasn't* struggled and *does* have people that care about her.

She has an average decent life! Parents who care about her, enough money to be comfortable, a best friend (former), even a therapist who literally cared about her side too much for her own good.

She's jealous of an immigrant boy with a dead dad and barely enough money to feed himself because he's had a more exciting life then her.

But she's at Aguefort! Surely excitement is just around the corner if that's what she really wants.

But it's not. She goes out of her way to do the least exciting, bare minimum task to pass her classes. Yeah it takes a while but it's not hard and thats not the standard. She had to *choose* to not do interesting things at Aguefort. She doesn't want to work harder or actually struggle like she claims she just wants to drag people down so she looks better in comparison.

It *is* tragic that she was murdered for a rage god. But that does not mean she was a good person before or that she was secretly struggling before that.

Jerks also don't deserve to die.
