The Entrepreneur's Mindset: Harnessing the Power of Resilience
In the world of startups and bustling marketplaces, the term 'entrepreneur' is often thrown around, painting pictures of young tech-savvies launching multi-million-dollar startups or seasoned business magnates steering the helm of vast business empires. However, at its core, entrepreneurship is far more than just starting a business. It’s about cultivating a specific mindset – a blend of passion, resilience, and innovation.
1. The Curiosity Quotient
Curiosity is the fuel for discovery, inquiry, and learning. Entrepreneurs often start their journey with a simple question: "Why?" or "Why not?". This inquisitiveness pushes them to seek out answers, leading to new ideas and solutions. They don't just accept the status quo; they question it, poke at it, and often, reshape it.
2. Embracing Failure as a Stepping Stone
Every seasoned entrepreneur will tell you: they have failed more times than they can count. But what separates them from others is not the absence of failure but the refusal to see failure as an endpoint. Instead, failures are lessons, opportunities to learn, adapt, and grow. An entrepreneur doesn't get deterred by failure; they get informed by it.
3. Lifelong Learning and Adaptability
The business world is in constant flux. New technologies, changing customer preferences, and global events can turn industries upside down overnight. Entrepreneurs thrive in this dynamic environment because they are committed to continuous learning. They invest in themselves, staying updated with the latest trends, and aren’t afraid to pivot when necessary.
4. Visionary Thinking
Entrepreneurs often think in terms of what could be rather than what is. They're visionaries, always looking ahead to the potential future, setting lofty goals, and then reverse-engineering the steps needed to get there. This visionary approach ensures that they're not just reacting to the world as it is, but actively shaping it.
5. Building Authentic Relationships
Entrepreneurship isn't a solitary journey. It’s about building relationships – with customers, investors, mentors, and peers. Authenticity is key. Entrepreneurs thrive on genuine connections that are built on trust and mutual respect, and these relationships often become the backbone of their business.
In Conclusion
Entrepreneurship is more than just a career choice; it's a way of life. It's about viewing challenges as opportunities, taking risks in the face of uncertainty, and relentlessly pursuing one’s passion. As we navigate the evolving landscape of the business world, understanding and embracing the entrepreneurial mindset becomes crucial, not just for business success but for personal growth as well.
So, the next time you find yourself contemplating the journey of entrepreneurship, remember: it's not just about business plans and balance sheets. It's about cultivating a mindset that transforms challenges into opportunities and dreams into reality.

Pinky Promise - drabble
Tara Carpenter x gn!reader
Summary: cuddly Tara strikes again
Words: 0.9k
A/n: very much inspired by this fic, please go read it i beg you
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was your worst fucking nightmare. Well, something close to this.
You’d expect maybe Anika or Mindy to set you up for failure, but your own mother? You were her kin, for christ’s sake!
Not to mention the woman knew what she was doing. Once she pulled the “Oh, it seems there isn’t enough beds for all your friends! My, I must’ve counted wrong!” You knew it was over from the start.
Mindy and Anika shared a bed, Chad and Ethan shared an air bed, leaving Tara to sleep on the couch. Which, you offered Tara to sleep in your room while you slept on the couch, but god did she make it fucking hard. The brunette insisted you sleep on your bed since you were the one driving most of the time during the road trip, but unfortunately your urge for hospitality rivaled her
You argued Tara looked far sleepier, and you thought it was settled when she didn’t respond
You were pretty fucking wrong.
When the time came and you eventually left your bathroom to go to the living room, you don’t expect to see a Tara in a band tee that was about two sizes too big on her, Hello Kitty shorts that barely poked out of her large shirt, and a bunny stuffed animal you gave her not too long ago
She grabbed your hand before you knew what was happening, and pulled you into your room. Half of the reason why you didn’t want to sleep in there was because of how you could distinctly tell your teenage self wore too much eye makeup and chains. The thought makes you cringe, and Tara only laughed at your expression
“Let’s go to bed, please?” You should’ve fucking said no. But how were you supposed to? Tara was looking up at you with her big brown eyes, a shirt that was probably yours, and a sad expression. You couldn’t have said no if you tried.
So here you were, looking at the ceiling in a small bed with Tara’s back touching your arm. A blanket covered her entire body while it only covered your midsection with your hands fidgeting on top of it
You feel the younger Carpenter shiver due to your close proximity, and you realize it’s actually cold in the house. Well, you were awake and you did live here, so it was probably your responsibility to make sure everyone was comfortable. If Tara was cold, everyone else probably was too
It takes a little maneuvering to get up with as little squeaks as possible, but you’re eventually successful. You think so, until you feel something around your wrist
“Don’t sleep on the couch…” You hear Tara mumble half asleep
“You were shivering, I’m changing the temperature” You whisper back, leaning towards her as she huffs
“How do I know you’re not lying?”
Your forehead wrinkles as you think, but you eventually have an idea
“I pinky promise” You stick out the small digit of your hand, and Tara eventually meets you halfway. When she lets go you assume she approves of your leave
The journey to the thermostat isn’t a very long one and you’re back in about a minute, the only challenge being not running up the stairs because you’re afraid of the dark
Tara acts like you’ve been away for years when you come back. Once you’re in arm distance, she pulls you down very quickly
“S’not enough, still cold” Tara mumbles into your chest as she crawls on top of you like it’s nobody’s business. Her arms trap you on both sides after she pulls the blanket over you both. You can tell she’s warm when she sighs and makes sure you know how comfortable you are
“You’re like a teddy bear… my teddy bear” You don’t know how to respond, but Tara obviously does
“I can’t believe you got up for nothing”
“The others might’ve been cold, you know”
“The others can fuck off” Tara yelps when you pinch her nose
“Don’t be mean”
“Mmm… whatever” The brunette sighs again, who’s now in a position with you that resembles a cheetah and their support dog
Now this was your worst fucking nightmare.
Tara, god bless bless her, was a light sleeper. If you moved an inch she’d feel it but now that she was on top of you, you were really fucked
“You’re tense”
“Go to sleep” You whisper
“Pillows are supposed to be soft, not hard” She whispers back, looking directly into your eyes
“Last time I checked, people aren’t supposed to be pillows” Tara snickers at your dumb joke and you resist the urge to poke at her dimples
“Now you’ve got me all awake”
“Be so for real, you’d fall asleep instantly if I stopped talking to you”
“Yeah, you’re right. I would” The brunette rubs her cheek against your shirt, almost like she’s trying to burrow into your chest. A few moments pass, and you’re finally feeling the effects of driving for most of the day. You can feel your body relax more every second
“I love you” Tara whispers so quietly you don’t know if you’re hearing her correctly. You fall asleep before you figure it out

🇺🇲 Dive into the history of the Apple III (styled as apple ///), a computer that marked an ambitious step forward for Apple Inc. Released in May 1980, the Apple III was designed to be a successor to the highly successful Apple II series, aimed at the business market.
💻 The Apple III was envisioned as a business-oriented machine that would bridge the gap between personal and professional computing. Apple sought to improve upon the Apple II's capabilities, both in terms of hardware and software, while maintaining backward compatibility. Steve Jobs, who was heavily involved in its design, emphasized aesthetics and functionality. The Apple III featured a sleek design and was intended to be more robust and reliable, with enhanced performance.
⚙️ The Apple III was powered by a 2 MHz Synertek 6502A processor, an improvement over the Apple II's 1 MHz processor. It came with 128 KB of RAM, expandable to 512 KB, which was a significant upgrade at the time. The computer featured an internal 140 KB 5.25-inch floppy disk drive. An external floppy drive could also be connected for additional storage. The Apple III supported a variety of display modes, including 24 lines of 80-column text and multiple graphics modes. It ran on Apple SOS (Sophisticated Operating System), which offered advanced features such as hierarchical file system and support for multiple users.
💡 The Apple III introduced several innovations, including a built-in clock, advanced sound capabilities, and a new keyboard design. However, it also faced significant challenges: The Apple III initially suffered from severe overheating problems due to the lack of a cooling fan. This led to hardware failures, with chips often becoming dislodged from their sockets. Early units were plagued by reliability issues, which hurt the computer’s reputation in the business market.
💔 Despite its rocky start, Apple released an improved version in 1981, known as the Apple III Plus, which addressed many of the initial issues. The Apple III ultimately did not achieve the commercial success Apple had hoped for, with only about 65,000 units sold. Nevertheless, the Apple III played a crucial role in Apple's development. The lessons learned from its challenges influenced the design and engineering of future Apple products, including the highly successful Apple Macintosh.
💾 The Apple III stands as a fascinating chapter in the history of computing. While it may not have achieved the commercial triumph of its predecessor or successors, its ambition and the innovative spirit behind its design left an indelible mark on Apple’s evolution. Today, the Apple III is remembered as a symbol of both the challenges and the relentless drive for innovation that characterize Apple's journey.

Today I’m thinking about three guys. Thinking about how they all had hands in creating concepts and videos that made the company they worked for famous. Thinking about how, despite that, they weren’t allowed to own what they created. Thinking about how their two biggest series were threatened to be taken away from them and given to more popular (whiter) hosts. Thinking about how they nearly burned out and faded away, but an idea lit a fire under them instead. Their own company, where they could have full creative control, where nothing could be taken away from them, where no one could tell them there wasn’t the editing budget for a show that was already written. Thinking about how they started it in secret, with no business knowledge. Thinking about how one of them took it upon himself to learn everything he could about running a business. How he knew it would mean putting his own creative pursuits on hold just to support his co-founders. How he did it anyway.
Thinking about how they announced their company to the world, with a shocking surprise. Thinking about how the world delivered its own shocking surprise back to them a few short months later in the form of a global pandemic. Thinking about how their company was almost strangled in its crib, how they thought it was DOA, how everything they worked so hard for was almost gone. Thinking of how, instead, it survived. Thinking of how they pivoted, how they threw everything they could at the wall, and while not everything stuck, the things that did kept them going. How they took every cent they made and put it back into the business by hiring fellow creatives and weirdos and investing in their future. Thinking of how they kept taking gambles, by taking the series that made two of them famous and making it their own. Thinking of how if that series had failed, it would have taken the company down with it and how they went for it anyway.
Thinking about how the CEO talked openly over the years about how he missed his old co-host, how hard it was to find that spark again. Thinking about how he focused on running the business instead of finding his own creative path. Thinking about how much thought he put into caring for their employees, how he put their well-being over churning out content, even if it meant less profit. How a work-life balance might not be in his wheelhouse, but how he wants it to be for the people that work for him.
Thinking about how the internet has changed in the decade since these three guys starting making videos for it. Thinking about how the algorithm values cheap drama over interesting stories. About how one wrong thumbnail or title can tank months’ worth of work. About how a misplaced swear can do the same, because the world is run by advertisers and not human beings. Thinking about how disheartening it must be to make a video to appease someone that would never watch it anyway. Thinking about how hard it would be to look at the numbers and realize the place that once was your space for success could now be home to your failure. Thinking about how much time they spent looking for a better alternative and how they ultimately realized there was only one.
Thinking about how delighted those three guys were once they had a plan. Thinking about the one of them who had finally reunited with his creative partners to start a new show, the one he’s been dreaming of for years, the one that’s been put on the backburner for the betterment of his company, finally able to exist. Thinking of the week of announcements, of the thousands of excited comments when this partnership was publicly declared. Thinking of how much joy was in the air, how much hard work was about to pay off. How their plans for months were about to come to fruition, how excited they were to take the fans on this next journey.
How they announced their new venture with a corkboard of fanart, showing it’s about them and us, together.
Thinking about how nearly everyone turned on them.
Thinking about how they walked back some of their plans to appease the loudest and the nastiest. Thinking about all the racist screeds their CEO had to read about himself. How he had to keep working despite it. How he and the rest of the company had to pivot immediately. How they had to know some of their contemporaries were also planning something similar and how none of them came to their defense. How they had to watch everything that they’ve worked so hard for become perilous. How a global pandemic was easier to weather than the cruelest words typed for everyone to see.
Thinking about how tomorrow, a new show will premiere. The one that’s been worked on in relative secret for so long and thought of even longer. The one that everyone was eagerly anticipating before they realized the people that make it need to eat, too. The one that everyone immediately mischaracterized to justify their own racism. The one that was supposed to be their big flagship series. The one that maybe still will be.
Tomorrow I’m hoping it will be the start of a new chapter. Hoping that the worst actors will get bored and move onto something else. Hoping that those who got the wrong impression will come back. Hoping that the show and its new home are a success and they get to make as much of it as they want, with no one to tell them how to do it.
I hope.

So happy that he is happy and thriving and he even talks about how he has chemistry with everyone!
Tumblr media
Some interview highlights:
Powell: I’m really happy, I don’t know. I’ve been known to have a lot of energy. I don’t get burnt out easily. I’m more prone to the kind of burnout where you’re trying to do the thing you want to do and you’re not getting to do it. But right now, I’m getting to do the thing I love and the thing I really want to do. There’s no reason to be burnt out.
Powell: Let’s see what’s on my actual Pinterest. [Looking at his phone]
You have a Pinterest?
Powell: [Incredulously] Of course I have a Pinterest. OK, I have a house in Austin that I’m trying to get in shape, so I’m currently doing that Pinteresting. For my next projects I have some inspirational Pinterest [boards]. I have a cowboy boot Pinterest, that’s pretty specific. I don’t know if you ever heard about this, but when I did Hit Man with Adria Arjona, we put a Pinterest board together of inspirational pictures.
Do you think there’s something about getting your big break when you’re in your 30s and your frontal lobe is fully developed and you’ve seen a lot of movies that makes success extra great?
Powell: You know what, I do think that. I think one of the best things you can teach a kid — I don’t have kids! — but the best thing you can teach them is delayed gratification and that good things come to those who wait. I feel like if I had gotten even one one-hundredth of any of this when I wanted it that I would have been developed enough to appreciate it in the way I do now. I feel very grateful because of the detours on my journey. I’m sort of getting to take advantage of this moment in a way that I don’t know if I would have gotten to if that failure didn’t come so often. There’s something about your 30s — doing anything in your 30s! I even see that with people who get married later in life. It doesn’t feel like “We’ll see how these young kids get through it!” They call it a capstone marriage because you’ve gone through two separate paths and experienced all these things when you find someone. It makes you appreciate them and see them in a different way when you’ve already been through the fire. So I appreciate [this success] maybe more than someone in their early 20s.
STAY BUSY GLEN AND STAY HAPPY!

Pick A Pile!
Tumblr media
Pile 1:
The only way to do great work is to love what you do.
You have within you right now, everything you need to deal with whatever the world can throw at you.
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.
The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today.
In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.
Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.
The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.
If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.
It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.
Pile 2:
The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.
To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.
The only impossible journey is the one you never begin.
It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.
Believe you can and you're halfway there.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.
You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.
The purpose of our lives is to be happy.
If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else.
In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
Pile 3:
The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today.
You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.
Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.
The best way to predict the future is to create it.
Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans.
The purpose of our lives is to be happy.
Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person.
In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.
Change your thoughts and you change your world.
Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.

There is such a power in FMA only telling Ed and Al's story.
By the end we can see glimpses of all the other people we met throughout the boys' journey, but for most of them the future in uncertain.
In a way it is a very... un-shounen ending. Because while, yes, Edward does get his happy ending (his brother, Winry, and a future in which he can be a happy and attentive father) for everyone else the future is uncertain. Oh, it is certainly hopeful - but it is not written in stone.
We know that Roy got a promotion, but Brigadier General is still three to four ranks away from becoming Führer and it is likely going to take years if it's going to work at all. And while Grumman is definitely not a Homunculus, he is still human - and FMA shows us again and again what horrors humanity is capable of. He's a moderate and on Mustang's side, but in the end we don't know how his and Hawkeye's story ends.
We don't know if they achieve their goal. If they ever end up paying for what they did in Ishval.
We know that Ling ends up becoming Emperor, and we know he has sworn to protect the Chen Clan. We don't know if his goal of creating peace between the warring clans of Xing will bear fruits. We don't know if his reign will be long and prosperous, and we don't know if he will ever find love - he is, after all, a man for whom duty comes first. Lan Fan and Mei are much the same.
We know Scar reclaimed his heritage - maybe even his title as a monk - and that he and Miles are in charge of rebuilding Ishval. We know Mustang has plans to end the occupation of the annexed country. We know there is hope for a people who had every reason to loose it. But we won't ever know what reparations were paid, what troubles were had, what hurdles almost destroyed them.
We know Winry will have friends in the future, and children. We can hope that her automail business becomes a success and that she fulfills all her dreams - we have reason to hope, her happiness is Ed's happiness after all, and we know he would do everything for her.
We see Al travel, and we see him and Ed share ideas and knowledge and dreams. We can imagine a world in which they live long lives and experience more adventures - but at the same time, their story is over.
FMA answers a lot of questions at the end, telling us that for now, everything is okay, our heroes saved the day, their friends (mostly) alive and well.
But it will never give us the ultimate happy end - it will never give us a "and now everyone is happy and everything is good". Oh, it comes close, because it offers us something else, something central to the themes of the story:
It offers us hope.
The hope that Roy and Riza will succeed, that Ling and Mei and Lan Fan will change the Imperial System, that Scar and Miles will create safety for their people, that Winry will be happy, and Amestris a country worth living for.
We will never know for sure, because it is not their story.
(and thank god for that - the possibility of failure is what makes the hope worth it)
(I'm sure Ed and his automail leg would agree)

🔢 Your 2024 Prediction (Numerology) Part 1
Tumblr media
How to Know Your Personal Year Number :
1st Step : Add your date of birth [ Day & Month ]
Examples 2nd Jan = 2+1 = (3) 29 Dec = 29+12 = 41 = (5) 10 June = 1+0+6 = (7)
2nd Step : Since its Year 2024 thus 2+0+2+4 = 8 + Above number with 8
Examples (3)+8 = 11 = 2 (Personal Year Number) (5)+8 = 13 = 4 (Personal Year Number) (7)+8 = 15 = 6 (Personal Year Number)
Personal Year 1
This year marks a fresh start in your destiny, filled with endless possibilities. With all doors opening up and obstacles fading away, it's the perfect time to embrace new beginnings. Don't hesitate to take the initiative and make bold decisions. Let your creativity shine as you venture into uncharted territory.
However, keep in mind that this is the year of Saturn, which means delays and responsibilities may come your way. Saturn, being an adversary to the sun, which rules the number one year, suggests that you may encounter some initial obstacles.
But fear not, for competition, difficulties, and roadblocks are just part of the journey. Stay patient and calm as you navigate through them. Success will be yours, but remember that Saturn emphasizes the importance of taking responsibility, while the number one signifies leadership. In the end, you'll have to assert yourself and strive for what you desire. Just remember to approach it with kindness and avoid selfishness.
The combination of Saturn and the sun may make you slightly self-centered, but don't let that deter you. The convergence of the number one (sun) and number eight (Saturn) indicates that this is the perfect time to embark on something new. Whether it's starting a business, pursuing a job opportunity, forming new friendships, entering a relationship, or even moving to a new home, the universe is aligning in your favor. Embrace the possibilities and make this year truly remarkable.
This is a time for fresh starts and seizing opportunities, so take advantage of it while you can. Don't rush through obstacles, let them fade away naturally. Remember, honesty and integrity are key to success. Saturn governs your Karma, so shortcuts and dishonesty will only lead to failure. Stay true to yourself and work hard, as this new beginning is destined for greatness. Enjoy this period of new beginnings, as it won't come around again for another 9 years.
Personal Year 2
This year is all about connecting with others and fostering cooperation within your family and friendships. It's a time to build strong and lasting relationships that will bring value to your life. Remember, last year was a fresh start for you, and now it's about making it count. However, it's important to note that you can't do it alone this year. One thing to keep in mind is that the number two is influenced by the moon, which emphasizes the importance of harmony. Whether it's within your family or friendships, genuine warmth and understanding should be present.
Since this is the year of Saturn and the moon is its enemy, there is a tendency to feel disconnected from your emotions. It will be an emotional and sensitive year for you, as you will experience things deeply, just like anyone else in a personal year 2. You may find yourself becoming detached from your emotions and not fully expressing your true feelings. Depending on your personal circumstances, you might even experience a slight sense of depression and heightened anxiety.
As this year progresses, you will undoubtedly overcome any challenges that come your way. The key to doing so lies in your ability to connect, cooperate, and work with others. Remember, you are not alone in this journey. Whether you are single, in business, or working independently, it is crucial to establish connections with people around you. By doing so, you will find that happiness will flourish, and a sense of well-being will prevail.
Family plays a significant role in your life this year, as many of the problems you face can be resolved through open communication and bringing your family closer together. Make this your main focus for the year - binding your family matters by fostering connections. By doing so, you will experience increased happiness, support, and reciprocation from others.
While starting new relationships is possible this year, it may progress slowly due to a natural inclination to be cautious and not easily trust others. The alignment of the moon and Saturn indicates a slight sense of distrust. If you decide to embark on a new business venture or change your job, keep in mind that you may need to adapt to the preferences and expectations of others.
It is important to fit into the new job or business situation completely, even if it may not align with your personal preferences initially. However, by blending in and making necessary adjustments, you will have the opportunity to shape your job or business situation according to your desires in the following year.
Personal Year 3
Jupiter's influence will bring expansion in all aspects of your life this year. Your social circle will grow, new people will come into your world, and you may even embark on exciting travels and romantic adventures. Personal year 3 in 2024 promises a positive and joyful connection with others. Saturn's universal year number eight, however, will also play a significant role. You may reunite with old friends or romantic partners, visit new and familiar places, and experience a karmic revisiting of the past to shape your future. Let go of negative emotions and grudges as you embrace this transformative year.
This year is going to be a turning point for you. The people you meet will play a significant role in your life, leading to more than just temporary friendships. You are expanding your social network and forming strong relationships. Get ready for a year full of dramatic moments and excitement around every corner. It's going to be an enjoyable year as you dive into new experiences like starting a new romance, job, or taking on more responsibilities. Just remember, it won't be drama-free.
As it's a Saturn year, be cautious not to become lazy. While there are many good things coming your way, you still need to put in the effort. If you slack off, you might find yourself in unwanted drama. Learn to go with the flow with your superiors, boss, and those around you. Don't disappoint anyone and avoid selfishness. Cooperation and considering others will bring happiness, enjoyment, and thrilling moments into your life.
This year is especially favorable for artistic individuals like actors, actresses, writers, musicians, and performers. There are plenty of opportunities for creative performances. Additionally, Jupiter's influence will bring good fortune to many. Students will have a successful year in terms of education. Managing a baby or getting along with your kids will be smooth sailing.
Personal Year 4
When you're in your personal year 4, the focus will be on security, stability, and making sure everything falls into place in your life. Despite your efforts to create a safe and solid foundation, unexpected opportunities may arise out of nowhere.
I've witnessed individuals in their personal year 4 experience sudden job offers, relocations, and new relationship prospects. Embrace these new possibilities and let go of the need for certainty.
While it may be a bit overwhelming, there's also the potential for promotions or new relationships. Make decisions wisely during this time. People in their personal year 4 will be productive and efficient, avoiding wasting time. There may be moments of anxiety, but push through and get the job done. It's a year for hard work and making improvements in all areas of your life.
Stay Tuned for Part 2..

I am frustated that people refer to Carmy as Sydney's mentor while discussing the show. This notion makes me question if they are actually paying attention to the story. To be honest, I never saw Carmy as Sydney's mentor even in the beginning. It seems that people assume this because Carmy retained a star and he was her boss at one time?
It's always dismissed that Carmy is her business partner even though we hear this said in 2x03 AND Storer says it himself.
The thing is, is that they're peers with two valuable experiences in the culinary world.
And let's be honest some viewers view Carmy as if he has experience running a restaurant, but in reality, he lacks the exact experience that Sydney needs to run The Bear. On the other hand, Sydney has already run a successful (at one time) business on her own, while Carmy was kicked out of his family's business. Therefore, Sydney brings a valuable level of experience to the table that Carmy cannot match. Even though she has experienced failures, she can turn them into wins when it comes to running The Bear with Carmy.
From episode 3, it was clear that they intended to have a partnership rather than a boss-employee dynamic. Carmy had initially asserted his power, but Sydney's suggestion to run things differently quickly changed that.
So Why is this scene dismissed?!! It drives me crazy.
All in all I just see the mentor excuse as another way to dismiss what Sydney brings to the table in terms of their relationship and it even dismisses all that Carmy gets in this partnership with Sydney. Mentor-mentee is often one sided where as Carmy and Sydney receive inspiration from each other ( AKA you make me better at this).
Sydney sees the good in Carmy is what the first episode tells us, it's not about that she admires this man with way more experience than her, it's that she sees his journey, she sees him is what that moment established in their relationship. Sydney seeing Carmy is something that he carries with him and he also receives things from Sydney.
They're equals because they both benefit from the relationship equally, which sets their dynamic apart from the typical mentor-mentee thing.
If you disagree watch the show again and prove to me what else storers quote could mean, give me another interpretation of 1x03...or how about Sydney literally saying she has a partner? Really, argue with the writers at this point.
This is a partnership.

Hello, i have a question! You can totally ignore it if you don't feel called to answer it.
Do you suggest manifesting for your CR first, to build confidence for shifting? Or do you think it's just as easy? I'm asking because I have been on this journey for about five years now, and it's getting a little ridiculous. I have been told by people to give up at this point.
(I refuse to. I took breaks, of course. Mental health comes first. And I did shift for a short amount of time and stuff.)
Since yesterday I keep affirming. Stuff I know is true. Like: I know the sky is blue, I know trees are real. And then I go and say: I know I am in my x DR.
So I used to hate when people said shifting was easy lol, so I will never say it is as easy as "fill in the blank with an easy thing."
But I do think our difficulty with shifting vs. manifesting is only because of how we were raised. I think in a perfect world where we were all told we have control of our lives there would be no difference, but for better or for worse we are all coming to shifting with biases and beliefs about what is "possible"
So this is what worked with me going from manifesting to shifting.
1. I started ignoring other realities for a bit (I think a few weeks) and working on manifesting things in this reality, working from the framework that I am shifting to another CR with tiny differences and I reminded myself every time that I had shifted and let myself get excited.
2. I started so so small. Got rid of a big pimple overnight, got an interview (not even the job, just the interview lol), and other things that might have happened anyway, but every time I went through the process of living like it was already true and then saying I had shifted after (Law of Assumption framework for manifesting and shifting. I recommend using this step to find a method that works for you because if it works for manifesting, it is a good sign it will work for shifting)
Important note that not everything worked, but I purposely just ignored the failures and put my attention on the success until it started being more success than failure. You focusing on things that are visible, "the sky is blue" is a great start that is even smaller than the examples above too. Just know that it is blue because you are saying it is
3. Then I got a bit bigger but still this reality adjacent. I got a great job, I moved across country and it was all paid for, my tarot business was a success, everything I wanted went on sale and I got my dream shoes super cheap
4. Finally once I really felt like I could change anything in this reality, I started focusing on other realities and again I started small. My first shift was a waiting room where I didn't even get off my couch. Second I didn't open my eyes, I just felt around me.
5. Once I got that power that comes with being somewhere different from here, it was an easier process for me and it kept spiraling until I was shifting
I do recommend starting with things you want but that you aren't too emotionally charged about. If you start from a place of desperation, it can be hard to not focus on things that don't immediately manifest and failure will be hard to ignore. If you need any advice on good manifesting books or anything just let me know because everyone works better with something else.
Feel free to ask any follow-up questions if you have them! I hope this helps!

Hey, I've been thinking of maybe getting into TTRPGs, but I don't really have any friends in person that are into that sort of stuff (I do have online friends who are into it, though). Do you have any recommendations for a/some good "solo" ttrpg for beginners.
Tumblr media
THEME: Free Solo Games for First-Timers.
Hello friend! I managed to find a whole cluster of free roleplaying games, so I hope you find something here that tickles your fancy! There’s some story games, some survival games, and some that are in between.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lycans & Lawyers, by GorgonHead.
You are one of Capitol's top lawyers. You also turn into a werewolf at night.
Welcome to Moondale, one of Capitol's nicer districts! Your law firm is based here, and most of your clients come from here. It is you job to keep them from getting convicted, even if they are guilty.
And they are. You must employ your best skills, both as a lawyer and as a lycan, to keep them safe from the Union's law long hands. To manage this, you'll have to do some shady things. But it's all for the good of the client!
This is a simple, one page game with a lot to play with. It has a few paragraphs of lore, a map to help you visualize your neighbourhood, and two moon tracks to follow. You’ll have two different sets of stats depending on whether you are in your werewolf mode or your lawyer mode, as well as a series of roll tables to set the scene. If you like a concrete goal but also some flexibility in the details that you get to contribute to the story, you might like this game.
Strandead, by chuymarin.
Awakening amidst the boundless stretch of the open ocean, the unsettling sensation of isolation grips your soul. What lies ahead in this abyss, lurking within the depths of the ominous waters? The weight of impending threats gnaws at your very core.
A solo hexcrawl for the survivalist at heart. Travel across an ocean and roll for encounters, fish, and random items as you try to survive for X number of days out on the open seas. With two difficulty modes and an optional QR-linked random generator of rumours, you’ll have an excellent combination of randomness and strategy to keep you invested. Perfect for folks who prefer balancing numbers and don’t want to fill in a narrative from prompts.
Fortress in the Frozen Wastes, by August Wigg.
Set in the post-apocalyptical land of the Frozen Wastes, a young Ranger must journey to an outlaw fortress to rescue their captured mentor and a group of settlers. Customize your Ranger to be proficient in different skills and choose different paths as you attempt to save the prisoners of the Fortress in the Frozen Wastes.
This is a combination of a traditional roleplaying adventure and a choose-your own adventure story. You’ll create a character sheet with stats, character abilities and inventory slots, and success and failure depend on a d10 roll. Your character dies if their endurance ever gets to 0, so you’ll do your best to navigate each new situation you encounter and make choices that keep your ranger alive long enough to fulfill their quest.
5 Min Knight, by enui.
5-Min-Knight is small one-player RPG about being a Knight of the round table. It takes 5 minutes to play.
This is basically a writing challenge, with a number of d6 tables that you’ll use for writing prompts. You are meant to roll and write as much as you can in 5 minutes - when the timer is up, you roll again to see what called you away. This is a great exercise if you’re looking for a way to practise your creativity, or if you don’t have that much time in a day to play.
If you’re more interested in solving mysteries, you can also try 5 Min Maven, by the same creator, inspired by Brindlewood Bay!
Curiosity Killed?, by Zole Tsoi.
Playing as a cat wandering the streets of a futuristic city, you are tasked with helping ghosts of the underworld who have unfinished business.
This is a one page game that uses a d4 for pretty much everything. You’ll want to keep an eye on your three stats, because if they get too high or too low, your cat is forced to end their mission early or gets stuck. Get your Stress down to 1 or your Morality up to 5 to win the game!
Homunculus, by DOMINO CLUB
Alchemy is a dirty, tiring, thankless job. I’ve let this absorb my whole life, and I’ve now gotten to the point where I’m ready to move on.
In this game, you play as an homunculus, newly created by an alchemist to explore the world .
Homunculus is a game that starts you off with quite a bit of guidance, easing you into play by setting you up with prompts connected to cards you draw from the deck. Card suits are connected to four stats in this game, which you will attempt to increase equally in order to gain the best possible ending. This game allows for a few replays if you are interested in getting different endings, but it also relies on interpreting prompts as drawn by the cards. If you like a game where you’re reaching a specific target, you might like Homunculus.
The Dukes Aid, by g0ri.
On the frontiers of space, an interstellar empire exists in a perilous balance. As a close aide of a Duke and his house, your job is to navigate safely through the coming intrigues.
Observe the plans within plans within plans as your House takes over the production of the Empire’s most important resource.….
The Duke's Aide is a solo roleplaying game requiring at least half an hour, a set of roleplaying dice, a deck of cards and something to write with and on. This is a proper journaling game, using a deck of cards to supply prompts, jokers included to help pace the game out for you. You’ll choose a character class, which also determines the dice you roll, which you’ll need every time your character tries something risky. This is a great introduction to a journaling game that still gives you a lot to work with if you don’t feel super comfortable extrapolating from prompts.
Games I've Recommended in the Past
