I always see people who have never been antis, talking about/questioning how some antis even ARE antis when you look at their taste in media - ie the ever famous joke of "Hannigram is #problematique" "but it's a show where he eats people" or whatever.

I thought I'd weigh in as someone who could, hypothetically, be called an ex-anti (which, thankfully, nothing ever really came out of it - it was just very 2014 keyboardwarrior-esque behavior of me being a chronically online young adult who would share posts in a group chat making fun of certain shippers, or reblog posts about how 50shades is The Most Problematic Media Ever to exist -- basically I was an anti with anti-lines of thoughts, but i never, like, a ran a Shipping Discourse Blog or whatever)

For me, personally, it was a few different things. I can now see how it's incredibly hypocritical that teenaged me shipped Light/L, while still thinking that Dramione was Bad And Abusive. It ultimately boiled down to a) being pretentious, and b) just not understanding media or what proshippers REALLY believed, with a side of c) not realizing that nuance exists. like i was pretty late to join tumblr, I think I immigrated here during PEAK "yourfaveisproblematic" era which definitely did have an impact on my opinions and my tastes.

to elaborate, a.) being pretentious. i mean this one just kinda goes without saying. "I engage in media in a way more intellectual way than you do, don't you know that? You're a filthy and disgusting person who writes Snape/Hermione because you're an actually disgusting pedophile IRL who would probably date your own student that you're abusing if you could. Meanwhile, I'm a very smart, good, and pure person. When I read Uncle Vernon/Harry, I'm doing it in a G-d honoring whump way that clearly condemns abuse, incest, and rape. Lawlight is okay because notebooks that kill people don't exist so it's IMPOSSIBLE for the Harmful Aspects of Light/L to be romanticized! but schoolyard prejudiced bullies DO exist and are a REAL problem so Drarry is BAD (*truly completely unaware of the fact that there's 'realistic' aspects of the Light/L dynamic and 'unrealistic' aspects of Drarry - such as, for example, Hogwarts arguably being even MORE of a fantasy setting than DN is.*) I know that media literacy is the hot buzzword of the year to throw around in 2024, but, like, i really did not have media literacy.

^ and honestly i do think that is the position of most antis. theyre isolated and cant seem to do Enough in the Real Scary World so they have to resort to talking about how bad of a person someone is for "shipping abuse", bc theyre not in a situation where they could, for example, ACTUALLY fight the good fight to end abuse or raise awareness for it.

Okay, so my thoughts...

Look, I'm an OG fan. I was a teenager when the animated show came out and boy oh boy...

Okay, so yes, I am a Zutara shipper. I have been since the show aired, and the way the show ended with Aang and Katara left an icky taste in my mouth. I'm not anti Kataang either. It just gives me... eew. Especially now that I'm an adult and I know relationships are messy to begin with. I don't agree that the show creators think that Zutara would be toxic... that is not necessarily true as Zuko's character doesn't support such a thing and neither does Katara's. Aang is still a child mentally and he doesn't seem to understand that people are going to do what they are going to do. Case and point, The Southern Raiders. Aang confronts Katara telling her that she should let it go and forgive Yon Rah... the only problem with this is that Katara needs to deal with her own closer. Forgiveness does not mean closure. Take it from me, a person who has difficulty letting go of hurts from the past. Some things I can forgive, while other things I can't because they are still a problem for me today, which is why I'm in therapy. It is not up to Aang to decide what Katara needs to do in that moment. If anything, he is showing his complete misunderstanding of her resolve. She is angry, hurt, and compulsive. She is feeling these things because her past has been thrown in her face by Zuko's presence. Because he is there, all that hurt is like a thousand daggers in her back. Zuko is letting her do. He is letting her feel, and for those who say he is encouraging her to murder someone, that isn't what is going on. He is basically letting her do what she needs to do. When someone is feeling that way, you wither let them feel it and support them or you get out of the way. People are going to do what they want. It's a hard lesson to learn.

Aang has his world view of peace and compassion, which is not a bad thing, but he lacks understanding. Probably because he is still a child and still learning the ways of people. People are cruel and sometimes unforgiving, but we can also be kind, loving, and filled with hope. Aang sees the good in everyone, except Ozai, which I'm pretty sure the only thing good about Ozai is the fact that Mark Hamil is behind his voice. But anyway, I like Aang. He's a good character that transforms everyone he interacts with. That is the best quality about him. The absolute worst of his qualities is that he tends to push his beliefs into the open without taking a moment to think about how others feel. And that isn't even that bad. It's a disregard of those emotions that leave a little bit of bitterness in my mouth. But that is something everyone struggles with at one point. That is just being human.

But yeah, this is just my humble opinion. Relationships are messy and they need work. They arent always going to be perfect, which is why neither ship is going to be better than the other. Does Aang and Katara have a happy marriage? Well, I can't say that they do because there isn't much to go on other than they have children. I'd like to think they have their ups and downs like most relationships do.

Would Zuko and Katara have a good relationship? Going off of their character I'd say they would balance each other out. It won't be toxic because they do fine when they are together in the show. They work well as a team and have each other's backs. So yeah, that is there in the show.

I'd also like to point out that Zuko and Mai don't tick the boxes for outstanding relationship. Those two have been on and off and I honestly don't think they will get back together. Kinda reminds me of the guy I was on and off with for five years... now that was toxic.

But yeah. I've done the shipping thing for so long it doesn't matter if it's Canon or not. Like I seriously shipped Sesshomaru and Kagome for years even though I knew she and Inuyasha were going to be together. Didn't care too much for Sess/Rin because again... eew. You ship who you want and what you feel makes sense. Does this mean people have to berate others about it? No. There should never be any condescension or degrading because we are all fans.

But for real... I think Azula and Sokka should get together. And I'm not on the Taang ship either.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I really don’t get how people decided that the “If you love Tommy now, you’ll love even more by the end” si about Buddie, because to me it’s pretty obvious that Tommy is going to help Chim in some way.

And also, as a big Buddie shipper, 911 is not the Buddie show. Sometimes it’s like people only think storylines are worth it because of Buddie (I still remember how people criticized the Buck come dream as if it wasn’t important for Buck’s stroryline only because Eddie wasn’t in it and how disappointed Oliver was over this).

But if then, maybe, it made sense in a way (the episode was about Buck after all), the same things doesn’t apply here: it’s Madney’s episode, their wedding, their story! I love Buddie as much as the next person, but sometimes I just wish the fandom knew how to be less obnoxious about them

🔥 if you’re still answering these, what’s your unpopular opinion on imodna shippers? And it’s kinda leaking into the cast? Maybe it’s just me, and I understand the cast can have their own ships but every time Dani or anyone says “imodna” I cringe.

This is probably an unpopular opinion insofar as I don't see it being voiced very often, but there are plenty of Imogen/Laudna shippers who don't live up to the fandom's reputation at all! I've joked before about how seeing a purple heart and a black heart next to each other on twitter is like seeing bright colors on an animal, but I know of plenty of people with those markers who are completely chill and just enjoy the idea of Imogen and Laudna being together. I'm friends with people who ship the pairing who really want to see more conflict and crunch, who are excited at the idea that it might end in tragedy. There are plenty of shippers who have made fools of themselves online, but I don't think we here on this side of the fandom give enough credit to the folks who are just here for a good time.

With respect to the cast, it might just be me, but I'm not really sure how invested they are in it. Some of the guests were, and I have to admit I rolled my eyes at Dusk/FRIDA/Deanna very obviously shilling it in a way that I don't think any guest characters have done for previous ships, but the main cast, aside from Ashley and maybe Taliesin, doesn't seem all that jazzed about it in the traditional sense. That's not to say they dislike it, I think they're all interested in where the story goes, but like, Travis nearly ate a can when Percy kissed Vex for the first time, and that kind of enthusiasm for Imogen and Laudna has been somewhat lacking.

I do think Dani needs to get off of Twitter. Like that "Imogen is Pate's step-dad" business or prodding Matt about Otohana? Non-fandom people are not on that wavelength, at all, and most of them probably reacted the same way Matt did when the Otohan/Liliana question came up. Those are the kinds of things you say when you spend a lot of time on Purple Heart Black Heart Twitter™ in particular, which is a fandom echo chamber that is not only uniquely divorced from but also often actively hostile to what's going on in the rest of the show. Am I biased? Yeah, obviously, but also, one of the timestamps Flando left on an Imogen/Laudna sex joke was something to the effect of "have they even been alone together since episode 65?", so the disconnect between how the cast talks about the ship and what the casual viewer sees is not going unnoticed.

i arrived at the venue some time before 9 am

i feel like i always say this but the people that i hang out with at concerts and while queueing are always super nice. i got to know new people, meet mutuals and hang out with so many people i'd gotten to know at previous gigs i'd been to

just remembered that i think i forgot to thank @king-krisu for letting me tag along to their apartment to warm up my pizza that tasted like cardboard so i'm doing it now, kiitos!

buying hand and foot warmers for the queueing was the best purchase ever

when we were let inside, the staff was apparently not informed on where the cloakroom was actually open and if people who were over 18 but didn't have the ticket could go to the +18 side and everything was just a mess and ppl were running around and didn't know where to go

i did get front row on kris' side and it was actually my first time there, i'd always been on jan and nace's side before that

i've listened to pilvet pilvet for a while now and i was so happy to actually see them live, couldn't ask for a better opener

jc stewart was also very good! i'd never heard of him or his songs before but i tried to learn some of them before the gig lol

i feel like we've all seen so much from the soundcheck and gigs from videos and photos that i don't really have that much to add

when kiki came to put the setlist right in front of us we were like no it can't be this short they're definitely gonna play more songs. and they didn't 🥲

sunday 3.3.

i was supposed to go hang out in the queue for the day but i slept so bad and i was honestly in a bad mood because of that so i just stayed in bed for the whole day until it was time to leave to the venue with my friend and we were there just before the doors opened

i have a lot of thoughts that i wrote down on monday about going to a concert as a fan with a non-fan vs. alone but i'm not gonna be yapping about it in this post

i was kinda far back and i'm short so i didn't really see that well and i made the mistake of wearing a hoodie instead of what i was planning to wear so it was also extremely hot

this setlist was more to my taste with barve oceana and padam

the new song took me straight on a cruise ship to sweden

when they announced ruisrock the response of the audience was so loud!

i had a fan with me and i was fanning myself during vse kar vem and i just saw bojan looking at me kinda worried but when he saw me singing along he smiled and i almost started crying

i feel like they were more relaxed during this concert and that's understandable with the first concert being more of a rehearsal as the first concert of the whole tour

when we got out literally everyone was freaking out about everything that happened and saying how much better it was than yesterday

i was so tired and felt kinda sick that we just went to get some food after sitting down for a while and then i went back to my hotel room and that was it

overall i had a such a fun weekend! thanks to everyone who i spent time with <3 would've loved to talk to even more of you guys! next up is london and of course ruisrock in the summer :)

I saw your post and I'm working up the courage to come off anon. As someone who was bullied out of the Ducktales fandom a while ago for shipping a pretty tame ship it's hard to see these people constantly reblogged on my dash. Maybe no one checks kudos and reviews on Ao3 but I do because I have had such a bad experience in this fandom.

You were completely right about Shelly (boy some of the artists they still associate with...yikes...their Twitter is locked for a reason) They already got a pass (again is it the art, the guilt tripping?) and their Google doc defending themselves led me down a rabbit hole that I wish I had stayed out of. When I see who believed their bs defense and unblocked them it makes sense. Everyone single one of them is into some real pro shipper stuff while publicly saying they're against it. I also have been in Discords or chats with a couple of them so I have screen shots of them and some other big name fans drawing and saying terrible things.

It's kinda like when creators from your favorite show get publicity called out for bad behavior and everyone is shocked but the truth finally unravels. It always starts with one person and then the dominos fall as others feel more comfortable about opening up and there are more victims and villains in the story. I'm just really nervous about being the one to start the topple.

I just want to start off saying that I completely understand your wish to stay anonymous. These things are always tricky and being in the center or just being involved with it is never easy. I can speak from personal experience that whole Shelly situation had me nervous during it all

I did hear that they came back. And heard about their apology. Someone even told me that Shelly no longer associated with those pedo artists. And part of me wanted to give Shelly the benefit of the doubt and that they have changed. So I just tried my best to move on from it all

I never read the apology. Prior to the controversy I’ve only had a few interactions with Shelly and they weren’t really good ones. I decided to just ignore Shelly and not interact with them or give them any attention at all

I admit what I did was cowardly and kinda lazy but I really didn’t want to be involved with that again. I felt like all eyes were on me and I really didn’t want that to continue. Especially if I didn’t have any evidence of their current actions that would imply they haven’t changed

Now let’s talk about the individuals you called out in your previous message. Out of the three, I only really talk to one. One of them I have interacted with and even read some of their stories. The third. I honestly had no idea who they were until I looked them up and recognized their icon. So I might’ve interacted with them but I’m not 100% sure

Now in your message you told me that those individuals left kudos on fics that contained r*pe and dubcon. Well as soon as I got your message I reached out to the individual I was closest to for their side of the story

They admitted that they have left kudoses on those types of fics but the subject matter makes them uncomfortable. They mentioned the stories they read that contain those subjects they usually go past that part and go right to the comfort part of the story and I’m just going to assume that those stories would depict r*pe in a negative manner

I have a lot of feelings about the Titan sub extravaganza and since tumblr is just shouting into a vaccume I think I'll share them below the cut if anyone wants to read lol.

1st: I knew they were dead the moment they said they were missing. Like Cameron said in interviews there's literally no way for them to completely lose contact without having no power AT ALL, and if you have no power in situations like that, your craft is gone and you're dead. It was genuinely the best thing that could have happened to them, coming up too fast as they were trying to do also probably would have killed them but in a much more horrible way, and granted you can survive bad cases of the bends (sometimes) but if you don't it's a really really horrible way to go. But also so is suffocating and hypothermia which was the case if they'd been stuck in there for days as the rescue team led you to believe is also a really horrible way to go. If I had to die catastrophically, honestly that's how I'd want to do it, you can't even feel pain or understand it.

2nd: I think it is sad, because I don't think people "deserve" to die, (particularly the 19 yo who most likely didn't want to be there/claimed he didn't want to be there) and they were probably afraid in their last moments because they heard the hull creaking and that's sad, but I also think it's ironic because you are taking a TOURISM trip to an EXTREMELY deep part of the ocean that is home to a MASS GRAVE. And they paid 250k to do it and weren't smart enough to check whether or not the sub they were in was a death trap (idk about you but I personally would be checking that 10 times over. I'm going into a highly highly pressurized space with no logical safety precautions? I'll pass). So they maybe kinda got what was coming to them, and eat the rich and all that, maybe don't voyer a mass grave.

3rd: I think the depth of the Titanic is the universes way of deterring people from going there, like we have museums that practically put you on the ship and give activities that simulate the sinking, you don't need to see the real thing. 100s of people died there tragically and suffered, let them rest. There is no good reason why civilians should be visiting the Titanic, not a single one, regardless of how much money you have.

4th: I was waiting 3 days for Cameron to comment on it, and I'm glad he did cause honestly I trust his expertise in this area maybe more than a single other person on the planet, and it's not cause I'm his fan, he's genuinely the most educated individual. I've had a passion/interest in ocean exploration since I was 11 so while I'm no expert, I do know that you can't make a sub out of carbon fiber and not die. I've also have been a fan of Cameron's exploration work in the challenger deep for over a decade by extension. I think it's funny that all these people didn't know that he was a director as his side hustle, because even tho I've been a fan of avatar since it came out (I was 9 at the time and didn't connect that it was him till I was like 16?), I always first and foremost knew him as the deepest human dive record holder for the Marianas trench. I'm glad to see the world is starting to share some of my respect for him as an academic 😂. Anyway, I'll always be kinda a Cameron fan probably more than most other white men, just cause clumbsy white man behavior aside he's a genuinely smart and well meaning individual, more than can be said for a lot of other multimillionaire directors...

5th: the media coverage of this was completely unnecessary and the rescue attempts were also unnecessary since everyone in the field knew they were dead, anyone with an engineering degree knew they were dead, anyone with common sense and the ability to do good research knew they were dead. The rescue was all for show and a waste of resources. I think it's horrrific what happened off the cost of Greece and I think the media SHOULD have covered that instead but I don't like hearing the comparison of "we should have sent our resources there" as there's a fairly large logistical difference between a submersible with a 3 day expiration date and a boat with a 30 minute one. That doesn't mean that there shouldn't have been more support/recovery efforts made for the immigrants, there SHOULD HAVE but it's not comparable in anything except media response and that it's in/on the ocean. I also think it's okay to care about both and the response to 5 billionaires dying at see can be joked about and made light of and sometimes that's good for the human condition, the death of people fleeing death and then tragically dying, cannot but it doesn't mean people don't/won't care, it just means they're not loud about it.

6th: and finally, I do think the Logitech controller is funny, and more seriously I think everyone's responses to this are valid, those people that are laughing at them, people who are upset, it's a hard thing to grapple with, at least it is for me

you two would be perfect examples of how opposites attract. i think she does have some trouble with anxiety, but it’s definitely not social anxiety. she’s just the mom friend, and stresses herself out over taking care of other people. it would take her a bit getting used to your dynamic, but in the end it would work out quite well. she’s completely respect you not wanting to talk or not wanting to be in a big social situation, and she can definitely talk enough for the both of you. it’s endearing, though. she rambles to fill the silence, but with you, she would feel free to talk about whatever she wanted whenever she wanted. you’d never make her feel like she needed to watch what she was saying. and she’d give off the same energy, making sure you knew you could tell her as much or as little as you wanted. and she’d be so proud when you opened up to her. not that it’s too hard to do, she’s incredibly inviting. and she would LOVE when you started rambling about the things you liked. seeing you get so excited would make her smile.

i don’t consider her a loud person. very bubbly and full of energy, but she’s learned how to conduct herself in a respectful way. maybe not at the beginning of high school, but definitely after she turned. she’s for sure a morning person. i can see her waking up bright and early to make sure she starts her day right. she’d also learn not to talk to you till at least an hour after you’ve woken up, figuring out silent ways to communicate with you and until you were feeling up to socializing. she’d think it was cute, honestly. seeing you get all irritated by something little. she’d hate that you don’t get enough sleep though (i don’t either, i totally understand.) she’d want you taking care of yourself, and would definitely come up with ways to help you sleep and then make it through the day with more energy.

even though you’re opposite in some ways, you’d definitely have a lot of core things in common. she’s one of the most loyal people ever, and you valuing loyalty would mean a lot to her. she also loves organization, acts of service, and quality time, and she hates untidiness and obnoxious people. she’d be very content to avoid people for a bit and spend time with you doing something simple, so you’re both comfortable. also, im an avid believer that she likes to read. she’s a sucker for a cheesy romance, she’s such a hopeless romantic. she’d definitely have stacks of books waiting to be read when she had the time. and no one can make fun of her for her choice in fiction, not even you.

i cant say she would like horror movies, but i think she’d tolerate them so she could spend time with you. it’s also definitely an excuse to get close to you. she may be a vampire, but she’s totally the type to hide her face in your arm every time there’s a jump scare.

as much as she likes parties, i think she gets bored of them. they sound fun in theory, but people always seem to let her down. if there was a bonfire or something going on, you’d both be invited. and even though you said yes, she could tell you didn’t want to go. and to be honest, neither did she. she needed a break from all the hassle. so instead, she’d have you over to her house. of course, you’d put something scary on, and she’d be practically in your lap by the end of it.

“i don’t know how you watch these,” she’d whine once it was over.

you’d laugh, switching the volume off. “regretting not going to the bonfire, then?”

“hell no! i’m never going out in the woods at night ever again!”

her pout would make you grin. “you’re a vampire, caroline. way scarier than the dark or a scary movie.”

“says who? it’s not my fault i’m normal and don’t like the feeling of my heart jumping out of my chest.”

“i’ll make it up to you,” you’d say, smiling when she gripped your hand tight. “next time we can organize your bookshelf like you wanted to, instead of watching a movie. sound fair?”

she’d laugh, hugging herself closer to you as she began flipping through channels.

“you know me so well.”

you know what, i'm gonna say it. the sonic fandom is sexist as fuck. as someone who's been here for years, i've seen the way y'all treat male characters vs female characters.

when male characters like knuckles and shadow are written in an unflattering way- such as shadow beinf unnecessarily edgy and knuckles being a complete dimwit - y'all are so quick to say "blame the writers, not the character!!" but when female characters like amy are written in an unflattering, suddenly that logic goes out the window and amy has always been a selfish bitch who only cares about sonic.

and speaking of amy, y'all are too comfortable acting like her character revolves around sonamy and nothing else. i'll never forget when the sonic frontiers trailer came out and amy was confirmed as the voice, y'all scrambled for evidence that the voice wasn't actually her but some ghost girl from some 4chan leaks, even going so far as to accuse the official social media team of lying when they confirmed it was her. all because y'all didn't want a ship you hate to become canon. shipping has rotten y'alls brains.

lets also talk about the new imposter syndrome issue. people were upset about how easily metal sonic was defeated. which yeah, i can understand, i know what its likw to have your favourite character be done dirty. but on the other hand, i never saw all of this complaining when scourge was easily able to overpower sonic and friends. no one talked about how op he was.

i recently saw a tweet praising surge saying that she's a female rival with sonic's potential and people immediately started bringing up blaze and saying she "did it better". sonic has had multiple male rivals who could keep up with him and no one compared them. i've never seen anyone say knuckles "did it better" than shadow or bice versa. but the moment he has more than one female rival you have to make it a competition.

everything about the sonic girls has to be a competition, and not even in just a shipping sense. you've got amy vs sally, amy vs blaze, surge vs blaze. you never see competitions like this for the male characters.

and ever notice how its always the female characters being hated on in shipping wars? applies to every fandom honestly.

i can't forget the slut shaming sally and rouge received. some people STILL see rouge as just "boobs the bat" when she's so much more than that. as for sally, i can't remember people complaining about the male sonic characters not wearing clothes. why does sally get hated on for it?

i'm talking about the fandom here but honestly the franchise kinda plays a part in all this sexism. the way i can only think of four major recurring female characters - amy, blaze, rouge, and cream - compared to the amount of male characters this franchise has. and those four are not even treated well. i have an entire essay on how amy rose is probably one of the most mistreated characters in this franchise. and the other three aren't treated any better.

also ever notice how every time amy's role of reminding shadow of his true purpose is taken from her, it was a male character who replaced her (chris in x, sonic in archie)? it shows that sega sees their female characters' roles as expendable, unless they serve as a love interest. and yes, i'm blaming sega because they allowed this shit to happen.

if i can say anything positive, at least the sexism isn't as bad as it was before. but its still there. people may want to deny it, but this fandom does have a sexism problem.

One of the biggest problems I have with eddie@na and buckt@ylor is the imbalance of the two ships where there's such a balance with buddie. Like with buckt@ylor it's too much all the time! Buck is, I wouldn't say at his worst, but he's too reckless and doesn't think things through as much when he's with her because she's the same way and with eddie@na it's not enough and kinda boring (and we know Eddie isn't boring), like they try to be all domestic but it always falls flat and again wouldn't say he's at his worst but he's definitely not himself when he's around her. But with Buddie, they perfectly balance each other out! There's excitement and adventure but also calm domestic moments and movie nights. They are what each other needs and their just too stupid and oblivious to see it.

And I just don't get buddie fans saying "well if buddie doesn't happen, I'm okay with buckt@ylor happening"....it's because their both hot right? Because I know it's not because she's right for him. Like yeah they are both hot but to me she is the complete opposite of what he actually wants and needs. He wants to settle down and have a family and she doesn't seem the type who wants that (nothing wrong with that), she's more career driven and doesn't seem to settle down with someone anytime soon.

I guess I have to say this off the bat because I follow quite a few people who support BuckTaylor (I can’t tell what’s a joke anymore, honestly) - I don’t care what anyone ships. I just ask that everyone uses tags correctly so I don’t have to see it!

What attracted me to Buddie is their chemistry, and how they don’t have to work at it. There are people on this site (plus other places like twitter and insta) who assume our otp is canon without ever having seen them hold hands or kiss! That, alone, speaks volumes about the bond Buck and Eddie have (accidentally) formed throughout the course of the show. It also speaks volumes about how easy it’s been for Ryan and Oliver to feed off each other (no matter what their off screen relationship may be).

As you said, they have cultivated the perfect balance, both as friends/potential lovers and as parents to Christopher. (Buck’s a dad! Fight me.)

Buck and Eddie tore down each other’s walls in no time at all because they realized they worked better as a team than as enemies. Personally, I LOVE that Eddie was the one to “make the first move”, so to speak. Here’s a man who was used to feeling alone, used to feeling betrayed by people he loved (Shannon for leaving, his parents for trying to take Christopher) and it took ONE rescue with Buck at his side for Eddie to declare “You can have my back any day.” ONE!!! And in doing so, he made Buck feel like he mattered. Buck’s whole life has been a never-ending question as to where he belongs, and with whom. When Eddie said that? He was telling Buck that he wanted him around. More specifically, he expected Buck to be around for him. 

When it comes to Christopher, Buck is exactly what Eddie needs in a second parent/parental figure. Buck only takes over when he’s alone with Christopher (the tsunami, Christopher running to his apartment). When it’s the three of them, he defers to Eddie because he understands it’s not his place to make decisions (Christmastime, video games) and he never wants Eddie to feel like he’s trying to replace him.

We don’t know a whole lot about Eddie’s relationship with Ramon other than Ramon wasn’t around much, but we know how Maddie and Buck’s father treated them. Buck’s experiences are SO useful for Christopher’s upbringing because he is being the father (figure) he always wanted in his life. Buck tells Chris he loves him openly and without hesitation. He gives him physical affection. He spends time with him just ‘cause he can.

This next part is super important: Buck makes sure Chris knows that they are friends first, no matter what. By not trying to force a ‘father’ or ‘parent’ label on himself, Buck is actually making it easier for Christopher to talk to him. Christopher is no different than any other kid, right? Certain things don’t feel like they should be discussed with parents because ‘they won’t understand.’ But a friend? A best friend? That’s a level of trust very few can obtain. And if Christopher tells Buck something that he thinks Eddie needs to know, he’s gonna tell him! He’s going to do what he must to keep their relationship in tact because he understands how much they need each other. Now. As for the ladies in their life at the moment:

A*a - I'll be honest. I anticipated much more effort being put into this relationship via the script. There's still three weeks to go, but the only connections they have thus far is that A*a is also Latina and used to be Christopher's teacher. That isn't screaming "soulmates!" to me. The writers put more emphasis on Buck & Christopher's bond once Eddie starting dating again than they have with A*a and Christopher. If the goal was to make us think A*a is Eddie's future...they missed the mark big time, yeah? (FTR, I don't think she is. I think they *want* people to assume she is just because she's a woman and they "look good together".)

Taylor - Oh, boy. People sure are loving their "girlboss". Disclaimer: I don't care if Taylor ends up being one of Buck's good friends that we see from time to time. M/F platonic friendship is even more underrated and underappreciated than M/M, if you ask me.  What *does* irk me is what you mentioned - there's a whole lot of "welllll...if Buddie isn't gonna happen than I want Buck to end up with her", and we know much of it is based on the fact that fandom finds her just as attractive as they find Buck/Oliver. Beautiful woman + Beautiful man = OF COURSE they're gonna have sex again! OF COURSE they have the potential to fall in love because they're a het ship! Ship BuckTaylor to your heart's content, but make sure to check that heteronormativity and work on removing it. It's not cute. Or helpful!

THERE IS JUST SO MUCH TO TALKE ABOUT, MY X'HAL.

First things first:

-Dick Died? Like for real? Usually when I'm attached to characters I cry, but I wasn't convinced enough last episode to believe Dick had "died". But since Gar and Rachel found the Lazarus Pit, I'm not surprised they ended up using it on Dick.

-Can we also talk about how Dick never dies in the comics besides it ever being Damian's fault? There literally has never been any other time unless we counting Justice League Dark: Apokolipse War, but everyone kinda died in that one.

-I think the best thing that came from Dick dying is Gar finally FINALLY transforming into something other than a tiger. I hope in season 4 we can see him trying to shift into other creatures.

-The Drake family. I would watch an entire Kardashian style show of this family, I love them! Tim's parents are beyyyyyyond real with him when it comes to being the next Robin. He has a family that loves him and wants to protect him, and I can understand why they want to keep him from becoming Robin. It wasn't even a few weeks ago the news of Robin #2 was found dead, it isn't a life they see for their son.

-I won't forgive the writers for not making the Lazurus Pit green, you had one job.

-I'm not even going to try and unload Dick's fight for his soul. The Joker, really? Could we have skipped that part and went straight to his redemption?

Okay, its time:

-The entire scene of Dick seeking forgiveness from his father and seeing his younger self. I think I still need time to process this. Brenton has this amazing ability to show such humility through his eyes, and cry on demand, it makes the scene so real.

Especially when we see Mar'i for the first time. I cannot believe I'm actually typing this, but we saw Mar'i Grayson. For the first time ever, and it was also the first time, watching this show, that Dick had some real hope for a future. This man tries so hard to make a family for himself, and he finally has a chance to make that happen. It's not some disoriented hallucination from drugs or Trigon, this was all Dick.

Moving on,

-Rachel and Gar, their little scene together was so wholesome. I really missed seeing them together and the heart to hearts they have.

Yooo the biggest moment today: Connor's betrayal.

-I was not expecting this to happen. Like I was ready for Kom to be going off on this ship, heading to Tamaran, and maybe start to find peace with herself.

(We also lost the entire scene of Kori and Kom talking about their parents decisions too).

-But Connor Connor, my innocent little flower fucking blew that shit up. No joke, if he's the villain next season, that would be lit. The whole cinematography, the scene as a whole was beautiful. The parallels between Connor trying to save Hank earlier this season and seen him in the depths of raging fire, but then here again, but staring away from the destruction, being the cause of it all, damn. No words. And here I thought Kom was going to be the one to hurt Connor, it was the other way around and I'm completely flabbergasted.

-I'm glad we got to see Babs again and actually being herself. Her acting passed out to trick the cop was great. I miss that version of Barbara Gordon. The woman that kicks ass and outsmarts people. Not just Dick's girl.

-I'm also curious as to what Crane wants Babs alive for. What does he have planned for her? Also, why were we just given a glimpse of what Babs was doing while imprisoned. Why did we not know Crane was speaking with her everyday for however long it's been since the Titans tried to turn themselves in?

-I'm angry it took until the third to last episode for Crane to finally be a good villain. He took over the city, got his big bad plan in motion, and is about to blow shit up. Where was this man 10 episodes ago!!!

Overall, great episode. I hope we can keep this momentum up until the finale.

The oldest one has his eyes set on you, but it's the youngest one, Ivar, who gets who claimed your attention since the first sight. And he seems to have an unnamed interest in you. Of course you hoped whatever that was would pass, but when unexpected feelings start to flow a different way, things begin to change.

Walking slow, you keep up the pace of a heavily pregnant Aslaug. The news of the child on its way came on the last day of the feast for your wedding and it was well-received by everyone. The snow falling gives Kattegat an amazing look, with everything painted white. The ocean is starting to freeze, but there are still boats coming and going, doing the last trades by sea before the ice keeps them away, having to endure the walk instead of sailing here.

Heading to the main hall, you stop when Aslaug stops, a hand on her swollen belly. “Everything alright?”

“Yes. I just need to lie down for a while.” She answers, setting in motion again. “Ragnar sons are always–” She's cut short once you enter the hall, the high number of people gathered around getting both your attentions. “Did something happen?” She asks, raising her voice. Ragnar comes to stand beside her, very protective ever since he found about the pregnancy.

You make your way to where Ivar is, seated on Ragnar's throne. “What's going on?” You ask him. “Bad news?”

“Boats were seen sailing this way.” He answers, gesturing, and dismissing the men. “With your brother's flag.”

“What the hell does Aethelwulf want?” Shrugging your shoulders, you stand beside Ivar, who takes your hand and places a kiss on it.

“Ask father.” He says, clearly annoyed.

Raising an eyebrow, you look at Ragnar. “Last raid I might have left implied that you were here on Kattegat, so... I think they came to take you back.”

“Why would you do that?” You inquire, hands on your hips.

“They were really pissing me off.” Ragnar justifies, and you roll your eyes.

“Are they coming for war?”

“No,” Bjorn says, entering the hall and dusting off his clothes from the snow. “I don't think they're planning on battle us, on our ground, with such few people.”

“Good. It means I can just tell them I don't wanna go and they'll leave.” Sighing, you look at Ivar. “And here I was planning on asking you to take me on the next raid.” You complain to Ivar, shooting Ragnar an angry glance. “England came to me.”

“Missing home?”

“Are you seriously asking me if I want to sail for weeks, stay on a camp in the woods for the entire summer for any other reason than to staying with you?” Faking an annoyed tone, you raise an eyebrow at Ivar.

Giggling, he bites his lip, nodding his head. “My mistake, princess.” Winking, he turns his attention back to his father. “Let's do what we have to do and get this tiny problem out of our lives so I can enjoy winter with my wife.”

“Speaking of enjoying the winter, I'll fix myself a warm bath and I hope you to join me.” With that, you turn around and head inside, ignoring the low chattering your words caused.

The word got out, you think, about Ivar being able to perform sexually. But since you were the first one to know, you don't mind the gossip.

The girls don't take much time to get everything ready, and you let them help you undress before you step into the tub. You always use Ivar's tub now, since you just moved into his bedroom after the wedding. As if you weren't sleeping here before. A few moments later you hear Ivar coming inside, taking off his clothes before joining you, making the hot water spill off when he moves inside, settling down next to you.

“You're so beautiful.” He whispers, immediately pulling you into a kiss, and you can't help but smile as you cave in, running a hand through his chest.

“Thank you, handsome.” You mutter when you pull away to breathe, biting your lip.

“Won't you even consider it?” You don't follow, so you pinch your eyebrows together, looking at your husband.

“Consider what?”

“Going back home.” There's fear in his voice, and that's a sentiment he only shows to you.

Ever since the announcement, Ivar has been listening to some rude things. People are mean, some of them at least. They say you'll leave him, trade him for a full man. That you'll get tired of him soon enough. You've been into awful arguments with some people about it, and Ivar have nearly killed a man a few weeks ago. With time, these comments are fading away, but it always gets to him. And when it happens, it's your mission to reassure him your love hasn't changed, it has only gotten bigger.

“I am home.” Caressing his cheek, you smile. “This is where I belong.” Your voice fades when you remember you have something to tell Ivar. It's been a while since you've been feeling odd, and your period is very late. “Actually, I need to talk to you about something.”

He furrows his eyebrows, a question on his face. “What is it?”

You know he wants kids, you've always knew. And you've been waiting until you're sure. And you're kinda sure at this point. “Ivar, I... I may be with child.” Speaking low, barely a whisper, you focus on his expression, trying to read it.

But you don't need too much. Ivar's lips break into a smile, and he kisses you deeply, until you're out of breath. “I'll be a father.” He says when you pull away.

“Yes, you will. And if it depends on me, you'll have a bunch of children, my love.” You can't wait to tell everyone, to let them know Ivar can do what they all doubted.

“I love you, (Y/N). More than everything.”

“We need to talk names now.” Giggling, you caress his face. “Everyone will have a suggestion.”

“We'll have to do it later.”

“Later? Why? Are you planning on doing anything now?” Smirking, you don't need any other answer than the kiss he gives you, and suddenly all the rest is put aside for a moment.

Hours later, when the sun is about to set, you're at the docks, watching as the two boats approach. A great number of people came too, of course, to see how it'll play out. There are soldiers, ready to fight if that's the case, but if it depends on you, it won't come to that. It doesn't look like they're here for war.

It gets your attention when one of the men, standing on the edge of the ship, recognizes you. He raises his eyebrows, but you don't show any expression. Slowly, he and a few men step out of the boat, eyes scanning through the Vikings, ready to defend themselves and their leader. That's when you recognize the man, Sir Wilfred, one of your father's man, now working for your older brother. He was kind to you, so you don't have your walls all the way up.

���Princess (Y/N).” He greets you with a small smile, taking your hand and placing a kiss on it. “It's a true blessing to find you alive and... Well.”

“It's good to see you too, Sir. Hope you made a safe trip here. But may I ask why did you and such a small army bothered to sail all the way to Kattegat?” Cutting straight to the point, you offer him a small smile. Ivar, who stands beside you, gets a worried stare from Wilfred, and you can feel his anger emanating.

“King Aethelwulf, your brother, sent us. After Ragnar Lothbrok told him you were here, brought by your own will, he decided to give you a chance to reconquer your old life, as a princess, by his side.” There's more than he's saying because you know your brother. It doesn't sound like something he would say. Aethelwulf wants you back because he can't even begin to imagine who would want to stay here. And he's ego demands him to try and get you back, so he can present you to his court, telling them how you came back to your senses and abandoned the barbarians.

“Tell my brother I have no intention of leaving Kattegat.” You begin, getting a weird expression from Wilfred, and some of his men start gossiping with each other. “I made myself a home here, among the Vikings. I even married one.” Gesturing at Ivar, you have to bite back the laugh that threatens to emerge at the surprise on Wilfred's face. “This is Ivar the Boneless, my husband and the father of the child I'm carrying. And I believe you know him very well Sir.”

“My princess, I don't understand–”

“I'm thankful for this... Rescue party you brought with you across the ocean, but I don't need to be rescued.” Cutting him off, you step back a little, gesturing at the people who stand behind you. “This is my place now, my people. My house, my King and Queen, my husband and friends. I'm not being held against my will. In fact, I didn't come against my will.” You raise your voice, so all of his men will listen, so the truth can find a way to your brother's ears. “With the same people you call soulless, barbarians, monsters, I found great happiness, something that I never had back in England. And I apologize if you had to endure such a journey for nothing, but I won't be going with you. And, just in case you were ordered to take me by force, I must advise you not to try it. Because you will lose.”

Many things are on the way now. The child, the raids, on which you do want to go every once in a while. The road is long and full of surprises, but you're willing to enjoy every step of the way. You never thought this would be how your life turned out, but as crazy as it is, it's good. It's the proof that love and happiness can be found in the most unexpected places, and you found both those things in a town across the world, with people who live in a completely different culture, in very different ways. My thoughts on Seabound!!! 🌊🌊🌊 (3/4)

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

Yep yep yep, I'm liking this season a lot! 😍 Although I hope we'll get into a more frantic situation now, like with more battles and more bonding moments (Nya and Maya hopefully, but with Bentho too 🦈🦈🦈)! We got half a season to go, I'M READY!! 😎😎

Alright, here we go!

GENERAL THOUGHTS

I do like the season a lot, maybe MoM was a little more cohesive? Idk but it's not a big complain, I still love it so far 😍

Also maybe I would've liked more interactions between Nya and Maya about how they've been apart for so long, they had a chit chat but I would've loved even more. Maybe with Nya saying that it was fine and she grew up only to realize she is still hurt by that, even though it wasn't Maya's fault. I still like how they did it, I wished there was more that's it 🤷‍♀️

While I do make sense to Maya's behavior, that while it seems a little different from Hands of Time it had its logic in my opinion, maybe Ray feels a little weird? He seems less courageous than before, and it was established that he is a hothead like his son so that came off as unusual 🤔🤔

But I do love the fact that he's here and he's bonding with his son, for real, I've been waiting for this for so long so I'm happy nonetheless 🤩

Maybe I'm just easy to please and I take all I can get idk 😅

THE STORM AMULET

Oh, are we gonna address the wind element? It feels like we haven't really seen a Morro reference since Hands of Time, that would be cool! 😍 I mean, why even mentioning the wind then 😅😅

And yes the voice does help a lot, I'm sorry I'll keep saying it until the season is over 😂 (or even beyond? Please cast Giles again LEGO 🥺🥺🥺)
