Boringly cis, here… Not very girly or gender euphoric, but. Dressing up and putting up a good outfit, colours matching. SWIRLY SKIRTS, particularly if they have pockets. (I own one skirt I LOVE, it's big and swirly and it has pockets, I'm considering a petticoat to make it poofy and going full '50s new look style. It gives me lots of casual Cinderella vibes and oh man. IT HAS POCKETS. BIG ONES THAT FIT A CELLPHONE.)

QUEEN. I have one Freddie Mercury in every space I inhabit. I have two in my bedroom, one is hanging in my studio right in front of my desk. Queen had been a big and important part of my teen years. I am not a person who cries at movies/music, but put on The Show Must Go On or press play on Bohemian Rhapsody (the movie; i know it has flaws and it's dramatised but still) and watch me crumble. My favourite song of them tho… I can't choose one. Fat Bottomed Girl? But shit, Innuendo is just… A mindblown. I always clean my house with I Want to Break Free blasting on because I'm a basic bitch and that's mandatory.

David Bowie came into my life later but in stride, he's equally important, he's been the one celebrity death I felt like a blow (still can't listen to his last album without crying). Rebel Rebel is a favourite of mine but out of personal affection, the soundtrack of Labyrinth is the closest to my heart (that whole movie).

Janis Joplin. And with her my big favourite is Me and Bobby McGee (Freedom is just another word for nothin' left to lose 🎶*sings*)

I just discovered that Florence Welch is apparently bi too, so FLORENCE + THE MACHINE. The list of favourites is long but… Which Witch? Queen of Peace? Free? Morning Elvis? Can't choose, ARGH.

… I have the music taste of an old man, yes. Also I have the bad tendency in not getting much informations over artists if I'm not EXTREMELY hyperfixated, and it's a little since the last time I was hyperfixated with a band. It may be that other artists I regularly listen to are queer but I don't know. Again, I discovered Florence is queer writing this answer, oops.

I had not many close contacts with the community until university, so I just assumed I was straight and never really thought about it much. Being demi ultimately didn't help me put two and two together any sooner, and without the proper terms and words… It was all very misty. So:

Straight > … People shipping me with a friend who is a girl don't bother me. Maybe… > No no, straight. Uh-uh. Just an ally. > Maybe bi-romantic, yeah, that maybe fits if I'm not having impostor syndrome, I won't tell anyone tho, I'm not sure. > "Hi friend of a friend who's very evidently flirting with me, WHY. For my mental health, but also for the one of many other people: Being a valid queer person even if unable to go to Pride (they're a huge trigger for me, I'll start panicking before walking), or out with everyone or with relationship to prove it.

And the bisexual inability to sit down straight and composed without our joints falling off. That's a superpower we should be proud of. u_u

Jokes aside, I think there's some poetry in saying "I like people for being people, gender is secondary", and as much biphobia there is around… It's a good message to give.

i listened to a lot of music on youtube again this month so not everything is on here so at the end of this post i'm going to put some cool music i found on youtube. also how is kemono ni naritai so high, i only started listening to it yesterday

ambient 2: the plateaux of mirror is an incredible ambient album i love literally every single track off of it. i really need to listen to more harold budd bc he was also on the moon and the melodies with cocteau twins and i loved that album too.first light and among fields of crystals are my favs they make me feel very nostalgic.

listen to hive mind by the internet it is so good. i really love listening to it while i ride my bike. it can be good for listening in the background while you do other stuff but is also really good to just sit down and take in the music. la di da is my fav off the whole album steve lacy fucking killed it on this song i also really love stay the night and next time / humble pie. but if you are reading this please check out the whole album it is so good.

i was listening to a lot of fleetwood mac this month i never really got into them even tho one of my friends recommenced them to me a ton. i really love landslide it makes me cry a lot and rhiannon is a banger.

the persona 3/4 osts are really fucking good i've been playing through the games over the course of the summer and i've been really enjoying them. i've been listening to more of the persona 3 soundtrack bc that is the one i am currently playing through and every song has been a banger but burn my dread, mass destruction and want to be close are my absolute favs. i've already talked about the p4 soundtrack before so i won't go off about it but i really like pursuing my true self and your affection.

The View Between Villages - Noah Kahan

My favorite song of this album. My favorite song this year. One of my top ten favorite songs EVER. Noah Kahan has been an incredibly slept on artist for years. Busyhead, Cynic, and Hurt Somebody are really good, just to name a few. But listening to this album, I can understand why THIS is the one that’s popular. This man’s voice is incredible, the instrumentals in every song are so beautiful, and every song just feels very raw and emotional. The whole album speaks to the small town kids and folk lovers. I could go on and on about every song. I love the slow build up. It starts nostalgic. The beginning feels like a deep breath, like gathering oneself. Then the song intensifies and you feel that mingled relief and anxiety of returning home, of being, to quote the title and song, back between villages. It just gets you right in the chest.

Favorite Lyrics

It’s really hard to choose with this song, because Noah Kahan is a wonderful lyricist

They got me surrounded for a mile or two

This whole part is what got me the most, I think. Going back to my small town after being on campus, this really resonates. Yes I’m seeing family, but you also think about the years behind you and the people you’ve left behind. There are high school and middle school friends I don’t talk to anymore. I wonder where they are. Over the break, I know they’re here too. Fifteen minutes away and yet I may never see their faces. It’s strange. It’s an aching feeling, but not necessarily bad. And there’s this sense of being home—but never being able to go back to what once was.

Final Takeaway

Oops I’m crying. This song leaves this little ache in my chest that I don’t altogether hate. The lyrics resonate as someone not only who grew up in a small town, but also as someone “back between villages” in another sense. As a college kid, you’re not quite an adult, but you’re not a kid anymore either. It’s a weird transition period. I would never want to go back to living at home full time or back to my high school days—but there’s always that lingering bit of nostalgia I can’t shake as I walk forward into the unknown. I fucking love this song.

hiiii today's reminder is I've finally listened to the entire album and i stand by all my initial opinions: kangaroo is an early favourite, and not your fault and the bat are not far behind. maybe it's because the usual suspects (taeyong, mark, doyoung) are in fewer songs this album, but Ten is my breakout favourite voice. they really played to his strengths vocally and let him try out new styles with his rap verses. like for example, in that's not fair (a glorious new entry into the ever growing list of nct songs where I like everything but the chorus), his part going from the bridge to the final chorus just tickles something in my brain perfectly. it does make me think Ten might be the next solo they introduce. in my head it's between ten and jaehyun, but I think if they wanna push dojaejung (which I'm guessing they do), they might not want jaehyun getting solo attention, and so it feels more likely to be ten.

what was my point? yeah good album. not their best, much shorter than I would've liked, but still solid. I'm still holding out for group contents outside of the weird tiktoks

Hiii!! I think we all know which songs are my favorite obviously The Bat and Alley Oop. But Pado and is also up there for me. It's a really good album, they're could possibly be a repackaged version but you never know which album gets a repackaged version. I definitely see Ten being the next solo, I feel like they've been preparing him for a solo album since debut but hopefully we get a Wayv album soon cause they have to catch up for the time missed. I said this before but, this has really been Hendery's moment, also Hendery and Johnny sound so good together. And they could really be a force to reckon with. And I'm not just saying this cause they are my biases but like their voices go so well together. Hendery is owed a duet, like literally owed one, served on a silver platter. his first one was pulled from under his feet and I think one with Johnny would be perfect. Cause Johnny needs something, give my baby something more than saying random English words and calling it a day. Also, the lost boys special I am not ready for it, like from the small clips and what my friend said I am not prepared. I was worried I'd have to get Disney Plus. I hate Disney plus. But luckily it's also on Hulu so I think I'm just going to wait till every episode is out. Also to mentally prepare cause I will cry, I couldn't even handle a clearly staged clip of Yuta passing out I was near tears just from that.

Most of my Anthos* faves are from 1st season. Don't get me wrong, I do love the other seasons too, but the 1st season songs hit different(?), like I can simply say that all 1st season songs are bop! Maybe because they had been around me longer than the other seasons and I got used to them haha(?)

(No, I don't hate other season's songs because of Setsuna (FYI he was added to the team after the 1st season ended). That sheep was sus at first but I don't hate him akskskkd)

The song that glued to Anthos, Birth! I literally sing this to every Hana Doll* friend that I have on their birthday on an app HAHA The beat is *chef's kiss*

I first knew Anthos when they released Unknown MV, but what got me hooked on them was not that song but Birth, and then Stay Away🫰 (Unknown is awesome too)

Next! Stay Away! This song, and Birth! Really love them including the remixes! This song is just too good to be missed. The chorus is addictive. I love this song the moment I listened to the intro lol

And maybe it's weird but I cry everytime I listen to Me Against Myself. As Ryoga oshi, Ryoga's voice in that song is...(I'm going to be corny here) quite emotional imo. And the lyric akakskkdkskd

As for Shine On, I can't explain how or why but I just love songs like this one (well so are people out there) It was like so smooth and calm, and everything hsjwjdkf I love this song especially the melody🫰

The last from my Anthos list is Umbilical Lover! Anthos*'s costumes here are LITERALLY AWESOME. AND BRUH THE CHORUS! GO LISTEN TO IT! I can still feel Lihito's vibrato from that song lmao

My all time Loulou*di fave (I don't think it will ever change lol) is Empty Dream! I remember when I first listened to its teaser (man, it was around 2 years ago??) I instantly thought "This is the kind of 2D idol song that I longed for!" and I was overjoyed lmao

I mean Birth made me think like this also, but in a different way(?) (I guess Birth gave me what I seek in an upbeat song, and Empty Dream for holy-ish(??) song? Bruh I don't know how to explain it sjjsjsjs)

I really love Empty Dream that I still regularly leaving comments on the MV from time to time, and I even have a plan (imagination lol) on how Loulou*di's stage and performance will be if they ever present this song on concerts and all (I'm too addicted please send help)

About Abortive Flower. Ah, yes, a one month old song. I've been listening to it everytime I get the chance since I got the album. Its teaser didn't give it justice(?) about its angsty-ness. The parts after 1st chorus are just so so depressing---I wonder what kind of direction Tosshi-san got when recording the "Kono yo ni ikiru kachi wa nakatta" part and also the last chorus? :") As for Yamashita-san, maybe it's because Toki was---oops. No, I won't spoil the drama part to you :) TakeP did a very great job on potraying Rui-san, he sounded so beautiful--- but empty imo, so Rui-like(?)

And then, Immortal Tale! That song gave me a "a song from a distant, sacred(?) land" feel. The vibe definitely fit the lyrics and all :) That upbeat tempo is something unusual from Loulou*di but they sang it so well, I have no complain🫶

I am a sucker for slow, dark songs, so Black Pulse is a hit for me. The harmony and adlibs and all are so awesome🥺 (I don't know what to comment anymore, that song is just beautiful)

And the last from my Loulou*di list! Is either Final Direction or Perfect Pride (man I couldn't choose ahsjskdk) I love both the same, I just couldn't pick one so I just put them both on the list. Final Direction imo sounds so dramatic (and I love it lol). Perfect Pride's bridge (actually not sure if that part called bridge) is addicting.

If I can say anything, Hana Doll*'s songs are as great as their stories and character designs🫶

okay so life update haha

got a boyfriend, yes the tinder guy from before.

we’ve been together for eight months now.

probably gonna die early from vaping cause i got into it oops

i’m on antidepressants now

i have yet to watch oppenheimer, but i don’t really give a fuck about that movie

there was a lot of crying since i last wrote here, but like in a good way. The hopeful kind. I’ve been so much better ever since I actually reached out to get help. I actually have to get back to the psych for another appointment but I can’t afford that yet so maybe next time. My boyfriend is the best, he’s almost too good to be true. I’m not gonna rule out the fact that he probably is, but so far, I have no reason to. He’s like actually husband material, and I’m not talking barebones here. He’s gone above and beyond the bare minimum. He’s kind of the reason i haven’t been posting here as much. He gives me so much comfort and I feel so safe and loved around him, I feel so at peace. My social life has gotten better I actually made new friends. I went with them to pride last June. Grades are still shit, might actually change my major but I’m not sure yet. My washing machine broke. There’s something wrong with the drain or something and it’s starting to stink. I took out the sheets I was washing too many days later and now I’m trying to get the stink out, so far no luck. I bought some bleach from a store nearby so hopefully that’ll help. I’m just gonna let them soak or something. I have about four bags of laundry piled up and I’m too lazy to walk over to the laundromat. Maybe later tonight when it’s not so hot. It was raining so much last week now I feel i like I’m in an oven. I want the rainy weather back.

I never realized how much I loved doing nothing. I mean, cleaning the house and doing chores is fine, but schoolwork? projects? yeah fuck that. I don’t know something about setting a deadline to make or answer something about something, even if I am actually passionate about that something, ugh i just don’t like it. I feel like if humans didn’t come up with this learning as fast as you can so you can make money shit, I would actually feel like doing something with my life. If all we’re doing in life as all about getting money, then what’s the point? If we’re working for money instead of like, I don’t know, happiness? It’s waste of time. Spending a big ass chunk of my life miserable so I can horde shit? No thank you. I mean, of course it’s good to have a purpose in life, but if that purpose is forced upon you by a system that fucks you over in the end then what the fuck? Plus, all that shit corporations earn, a big part of that goes to one probably white guy in a big house while people at the bottom of the food chain can barely afford to eat. I can’t even afford meat.

And can I rant about the horrible urban planning where I live? If you live in a third-world country like me, you know what I’m talking about. Fucking boomers complain about how kinds don’t go outside anymore, nobody goes out and meets with their friends. But have they ever actually looked at the outside their generation built? i get about a foot of sidewalk if I’m lucky. People can’t get anywhere unless they have a car, or unless they’re willing to learn about the mess that is public transportation here, or if they can afford a taxi. Of course, there’s a learning curve every time someone wants to go to a new city, but still. The least they can do is spare some space for people to walk. Also, the air sucks and the rains sucks. In my neighborhood, there is one singular tree. When it rains, it doesn’t smell like rain, it doesn’t smell like petrichor or earth or even wet dirt. It smells like wet garbage. I miss dirt.

But guess what? I can’t go to where the dirt is because I can’t even afford to get a bus ticket to go home. Honestly, I feel like I should just quit school and find an okay-paying job and just do whatever. But noooo third-world country babies don’t have the privilege to choose what they want to do with their lives, not without a college degree, that is.

I should get tested for ADHD. I know self-diagnosing is on trend these days, but like I actually have a problem up top. Even with the antidepressants, yes my mood has gotten a lot better, but I cans till barely function. Something’s wrong, I know that much.

Anyways, I feel like I still have a lot to say but I’m getting bored of typing. I actually just started writing this cause I was bored of scrolling on tiktok. I’m gonna go back to tiktok now

i would love love LOVE to write a dark fairytale/fantasy fic for this, like!!! god, the vibe of this song feels like those stories that start off soft and fairytale-esque but by the end you realize it's actually a dark kind of warning and not a happily-ever-after.

so the basic idea i have would be something along the lines of: reader was once like, a forest guardian or something, and at one point a human came along and was like "let me live in ur forest pls" and they were skeptical but eventually let them as long as they didn't hurt the forest at all. so the human builds themself a little cottage in the clearing and doesn't hurt the forest and so reader lets themself start to get to know the human and oops! they end up falling in love (bad idea) and in a moment of vulnerability, the human attacks them, nearly kills them, and curses them so they can't protect their forest anymore. bc lo and behold, little human is actually a greedy bastard from the nearby kingdom wanting to take all the resources here.

fast forward a bit, and [member of choice] who has some magical abilities, starts getting really weird dreams about the forest on the other side of the kingdom. cue member being enlisted to help reader enact their revenge plot to save their forest (and also maybe reach some righteous havoc while they're at it) and they become best 'villain' bros the end :')

Like half of these came out last year, but a few are recent discoveries

1) 5 Seconds Of Summer - 5SOS5

So good. They can’t keep getting away with it, they’re just so much at all time ykwim? These songs FUCKED live. This is the only non-metal album on this list lmao it was just that kinda year. Complete Mess has some vibes for sure.

2) Lorna Shore - Pain Remains 

GIRL I should not be allowed to listen to this like what the fuck? I found out about LS last year from watching the throat cam interview and then listening to Sun//Eater like damn this guy’s got some noises. But it’s also the instrumentals, Adam just doesn’t know when to stop. They’ve got this epic vibe, like Dark Souls boss fight music or some shit, Cursed To Die gets me hyped every time.

3) Wage War - Pressure

This is an older one that I found last year, I’ve really been sleeping on this band. They’re a Fearless band so I’ve known of them for ages I just never gave them a solid listen before. Top recommendation would be Grave.

4) Motionless In White - Scoring The End Of The World

I’ve been trying to get into MIW for years and ig last year was finally the right time. I got to see them live with I Prevail and that had me like damn I should give them another shot. Cyberhex is pretty.

5) I Prevail - Trauma

This album got a lot of hype when it came out but I didn’t give it a listen until last year. The show I saw was the one where Eric had been in the hospital earlier that day. Glad he’s okay but ngl it would have been pretty metal if he’d died from playing BB at soundcheck. 10/10 would cry to Let Me Be Sad.

6) I Prevail - True Power

GOD. You can really hear how Brian and Eric have developed their vocals in this one. I get some Linkin Park vibes from it and that fucks. They do really good sad songs so even though TP is just bangers from start to finish I’m gonna single out Deep End as one of my favs.

7) Bad Omens - The Death Of Peace Of Mind

So I’ve heard some of their material before? Which is why Concrete Jungle had me like ??? when I first heard it. Very unexpected but the vibes do fuck. This is the only album on this list I don’t physically own :c

8) Dream On, Dreamer - It Comes And Goes

Fucks. Cannot believe they broke up and I’ll never know how these songs sound live, the vibes are just off the charts. So pretty, they truly went off with Don’t Lose Your Heart.
