My Oathbreaker Selunite Rohku has a heart-to-heart with Shadowheart in the face of one of her greatest trials yet.

Rohku spent years of his life hunting and killing Sharrans before realizing he should've been breaking chains, not victims. But now, by allowing Shadowheart to complete the trials in hopes she may begin to latch onto the doubts she's been so clearly burying, he has to force his way between her and a terrible decision. To Shadowheart, this probably feels like an ultimate betrayal Where did this come from? Wasn't he on her side? He is, but not the ways she believed. This has been years in the making for Rohku. Buuut he's got surprisingly low charisma and wisdom for a Paladin, so he's not very good at this...

i forget how good varric is in the opening of dai. i like that he goes out of his way to mention to the protagonist that solas—who, we learn later, at this point has been being threatened by cassandra and in general as an elven apostate is in a really dangerous position here—helped them and saved their life. he also goes out of his way to align himself with the protagonist—technically he’s a prisoner, just like you—despite them being basically powerless and there being no discernible benefit to siding with them here. there’s a particular version of a cadash exchange that i love

cadash basically throws the line of questioning back at varric, and cassandra finally seems to be almost defending varric. varric did not have to respond to that in the last line by defusing cassandra’s hostility towards cadash and cheerfully accepting the comment that tars him with the same brush as the person under the most suspicion. nor did he have to point out solas’ usefulness or keep an eye on him during the journey up to the temple, turning back to wave him onwards. but he did

idk i don’t have a strong point here i just think looking out for the underdog, and not only that but being subtle and clever about it, using words to manage it when he doesn’t really have any power here either, is some of the true best of varric’s character and i like how it gets shown here

I love that Isabeau is the one to bring up the "what do we do if you die" conversation cause its a very good insight to his character at the very start of the game. Isabeau is practical, smart, and loves everyone dearly and wants to know how to help them when shit goes sideways. He's the one to ask about Bonnie too, which is a delightful read on how he thinks because everyone else shuts that down instantly as a "That wont happen and cant happen" but we see later in the game it can happen which is such a startling thing for a game to do but justifies the foreshadowing of Bonnie can die what do we do if that happens? Isabeau, despite everything, is also the one who gets to the heart of the matter even if its not something must people are willing to talk about. All without it being part of his friendquest, thats just him naturally. Which! Says so much about him and how he is! His character when its not about his relationship with Siffrin is a very intriguing thing because it feels like a very classic hard intellectual stance that's been softened after many years of learning to better communicate healthily with others. A reflection, if you will, of Odile but in a very drastic direction. I find him fascinating and I also want to scoop his brains out and study them under a microscope to see all his little brain thoughts.

It was Maid Day today yesterday a week ago so I got struck by inspiration to draw the worsties, and it ran away from me into a whole AU where they’re coworkers at a maid cafe. She’s a med student & this is just a part time job, and this is his depression job while he gets his life back together. He needs something he can be workaholic about to forget what it’s like having a personal life and personal issues. He’s actually the accountant, but the new hire janitor (Izutsumi) doesn’t show up for half her shifts and is a sloppy worker, so he gets the extra work of doing her job on top of his because he’s undervalued and overworked. Of course, janitors also have an uniform to keep the aesthetic cohesion as they go about cleaning the place, of course.

Senshi’s the part time cook you only see slivers off, he’s kind and warm when you do see him and have a chat but most shifts he’s in and out the kitchen without a trace. Laios and Falin are regulars because Falin and Marcille are besties & in the same med school, Laios accompanies Falin as she visits her friend at work and gets hooked on the food. Chilchuck has to remind Marcille to work instead of chatting with Falin for an hour, and next thing he knows she’s distracting him from work too. That’s it that’s the AU. Inspired by this idol AU fanart a bit <3
