But... he really doesn't have a whole lot of options. While he was able to have a great second wind, Mai hadn't really lost her lead. Not only is she a stronger Duelist than she used to be, not only is her deck more powerful, but she's so much more ruthless and cunning. Joey was a little surprised he was able to fake her out with Neko Mane King.

I could lose. I could seriously lose. Mai... I have to get through to her! I can't let her do this! C'mon, Heart of the Cards... I need your help to save her. I believe in you, so give me this chance! PLEASE!

As Joey reaches for his next card, his deck begins to glow. Caught off guard, he freezes, staring, and next thing he knows he's encased in a pillar of light. Without warning, he's transported away from Industrial Illusions HQ, floating in a bubble of light. He sees two other light bubbles, and they zip through an impossible world of floating islands, waterfalls, and rainbows. His bubble and one other fly into a castle fitting for this fantasy land.

The bubbles pop, and it's Yugi that's in the castle with him. His friend is... floating? While Joey falls to the floor. "Whoa! Hey, where are we? Where's Mai? Did... Did the duel end...?" Joey scans the area around them. "Uh... We sure ain't in Kansas anymore, eh Yug?"

Yugi explains where they are like he's been here before. Which... he kind of has, hasn't he? The world where Duel Monsters are real and alive. The world where he found and freed Timaeus.

And, Joey realizes, the world where a dragon waits for him. Gargantuan and covered in crystals, an impossible sight that he never could have come across before. Yet, somehow, a sight that is deeply familiar, like running up to the door of an old friend's house.

"Joey, draw the sword."

"Huh!?"

"That's why we're here. The last dragon chose you!"

"M-Me!? Really...?" Well, he literally has no reason to not believe Yugi. So much of their lives are already unbelievable.

After only a moment's hesitation, Joey tightly grips the handle of the blade poking out of the dragon's paw. A wave of energy flows through him.

"Whoa, I heard somethin'! Someone talking? From the sword..."

He tries to pull, but it only cracks the crystals surrounding the blade. Of course it wouldn't be easy; nothing in his life ever has been. So he grabs with both hands and heaves, fighting to pull the blade free. The crystals splinter, crumble, and the sword slips free. As the dragon wakes, light forcing more crystals to shatter, Joey calls out.

"I know your name...! You're... Hermos!"

The dragon, Hermos, bursts free from its crystal prison. Joey has a brief moment to see it free, letting out a triumphant roar, before he blinks and is back inside the I2 HQ, facing down Mai once again.

It's disorienting, to say the least. Was it all a dream? Joey glances back at Yugi. No... No, they really were in the world of Duel Monsters and Nameless Dragons, weren't they? Well. Not so nameless anymore.

The others' shouting snaps him back to reality. Still, he feels electric, like when the sword pulsed its energy through him. "I draw..." He swipes the card free from his deck, somehow already knowing what he's going to see. "The Claw of Hermos! Please, Hermos, lend me your strength!"

I will get through to you, Mai. Me and Hermos, we'll do it together. ]

BARDLAU BUDDY DADDIES AU FOR THE WIN!

Bardroy is a gruff, hot-tempered mercenary saddled with lingering guilt over the violent deaths of his wife and son at the hands of an enemy seeking revenge for one of Bard’s hits. Lau is a popular (and highly chaotic) YouTube gamer, known for his mad stats, pink neko headphones, and dreamy, rambling monologues that have nothing to do with the game he’s actually playing (a fierce argument still rages among his fanbase over whether he’s high as a kite during all of his streams, or just faking it for the views). Of course, his followers are unaware of Lau’s secret prowess as an assassin; the Blue Dragon’s ruthlessness and aptitude for wielding knives strike terror into the hearts of his prey and fellow killers alike. He’s equally feared on the dark web, where his skills as a hacker are rivaled only by the technical expertise of his childhood friend Ran Mao (the two of them regularly scam cryptobros as a side-hustle, but that’s another story). There’s also the matter of Lau’s mysterious past…a fraught youth he’s never disclosed to Bardroy, but which has left him physically and emotionally scarred and unable to trust.

Despite the friction that inevitably arises when their distinct personalities clash, Lau and Bard make an unbeatable duo, and are regularly sought after by underworld bigwigs in need of their services. Bard’s been crashing at Lau’s apartment ever since the loss of his family. If we’re splitting hairs, it’s really Ran Mao’s place (her name’s the one on the lease), but she tends to disappear for long periods of time before randomly showing at 3 AM to play on Lau’s gaming system.

This unconventional status quo is disrupted forever when Bard and Lau are assigned to take out a shady scientist rumored to conduct unethical experiments on behalf of a rival country’s government—only to find his toddler, Finnian, ambling through one of the labs. As the pair discovers the hard way when a giggling Finny twists Bard’s flamethrower into a pretzel, the boy’s father subjected him to experiments with a test drug that endowed him with super-strength. Yet, regardless of the obvious hazards that caring for this child would entail, his innocent smile tugs at Bard’s heartstrings, reminding him of another little boy who used to smile that way.

“We can’t turn this kid in to the authorities! They’ll jus’ keep on treatin’ him like a lab rat!” Bardroy protests.

Lau is more skeptical, but he quickly sees that his partner won’t budge, and he has to concede that the mighty tyke’s gifts could prove useful.

Mayhem promptly ensues as the assassins tackle their biggest challenge yet—parenthood. With occasional help from Auntie Ran Mao to keep them from going too far off the rails. 😉 Buckle up for a heartwarming (and only slightly bloodstained) journey, in which their new role as Finny’s dads sets Lau and Bardroy on the path to healing from their trauma.

And, the closer they become through their shared purpose, the more difficult it is for the partners in crime to deny their budding attraction to one another… 😉

Beckoning cat without left hand:　Life history of Choma-1(1/2)

This painting is a portrait of Choma that I unknowingly drew about two months before Choma's death.

It is an oil painting with a title such as "Handless Maneki Neko".

In 1993, I was surprised when my father, who had a ruthless attitude toward living things, said that he would keep a "cat". I thought, "A man who is as cold as my father keep a cat?"

The cat I saw for the first time was a really small cat, and I thought, "What is this little one?"

I noticed and received one of the kittens born by the clerk of the company where my father was the factory manager. And this cat is a cat that has "Scottish Fold" in one parent, and the place where the ears originally hang down, but the characteristic did not appear in the cat himself.

My father gave the name "Choma". It seems that it means eating food little by little. That's why my father also called it "Chomako" and "Guitsukotan".

They are together when they go to bed.

And Choma grew up, given cat food and occasionally fish sashimi.

In the case of Choma, the food that should be served at the set time ,but served he was screaming, so he grew bigger and became a heavyweight cat. Approximately 9 kg.

And, as a male cat’s nature, he went on an expedition to the outside of our house, cultivated territory, and returned triumphantly. Such a choma has a rival, and he comes home after a quarrel with a lot of lives, so the injury was usual. For example, "corneal perforation" is a fear of blindness, so I took him to a veterinary clinic and received eye drops. Also, in the case of cats, the surface of the injured part will soon heal and lesions will remain in the body, so it was necessary to pay attention to this as well.

Also, at my home, We was feeding the stray cats as well, so Choma was kicking them down as if he was looking down on them. It was an arrogant attitude. Once, Choma was hitting a poor cat "Knock" who escaped to the outdoor unit of the air conditioner, so I once held a Choma and let the knock escape in the meantime, saying "You also like bullying the weak". ..

Among these stray cats, there was a gentle brother-like cat, who lived while caring with his colleagues. We used to call it "Know". This cat's brother has a light coat color, but the coat color is dark, so he called it "Know (dark)". The other is "tan (light)". Easy nomenclature.

January 10, 1996 came to my house doing so.

On January 10, 1996, something happened to Choma. In the daytime, I heard some kind of squeaky voice, so there was a Choma in the doorway room ... But if I look closely, the wrist of his left hand is "twisted", and it looks horrible.

I had to take him to a veterinary clinic right away, but I was surprised ,when he ate food for such a time .

I heard at a veterinary clinic that he can't make an "artificial limb", and if the front leg remains halfway, the bones will be exposed, so we have to take the left front leg together.

Choma's surgery was performed there, and Choma became three legs.

After the accident, the appearance of "Know" disappeared, so I suspect that Choma was bullying Know, but he tampered with the artificial rotating equipment and screwed it. "Know" would have robbed one hand of Choma in exchange for his life.

🦋 Project Chrysalis, the Colorful Butterfly 🦋

Influenced by the song "Butterfly" by smile.dk and the remix by Kors k feat. Starbitz in Dancerush stardom, this Yumi got a butterfly-themed upgrade with some extra abilities like illusion and summoning butterflies for distraction. The species she's based on is a peacock swallowtail (Papilio blumei)

She's still keeping her seriousness in fighting, but she is easily flustered when someone pets her antenna hair. (Yep, the antennae is actually her hair). The bracelet is an transformation item. Project Chrysalis is a part of Mythic / Mystical Upgrades AU that will be into 4 parts, each part focusing on Ulrich, Yumi, Odd and Aelita.

🦊 Japanese Fantasy, the Extroverted Fox Maiden 🦊

Before you ask, this is the official rebranding of the iroha uta AU bc I really suck at romance. The old color scheme has too much orange, so I made her to be more like a miko (shrine maiden) and Aelita's helper. So, no geisha makeup, she still does wear her red eyeshadow/eyeliner tho!

Fox Yumi has fire controlling abilities, in the form of fireballs! sadly she can't turn into an actual fox. She can also change her eye color into red whenever she has any strong emotions (mostly being agitated)

This new Lyoko outfit is only worn in the new Japanese sector, named Yamato sector!

👹 Oni Yumi, the Spunky Demon and Guardian 👹

I already posted her fixed design in my previous codejuly entry.

She's part of an unnamed AU, but here are some quirks of her. She is loosely based of one of my fav Hololive Vtubers, Nakiri Ayame. Her katana blade is her secondary weapon, and when she draws her blade, she also can manipulate fire with her katana. Aside from it, she can also create flowers... with toxic pollen. Her fans can also spread the pollen in a greater range.

The red flower underneath her eye and on her left shoulder are curse marks btw. Oni!Yumi always emphasize that those aren't tattoos, those are legit, actual curse marks. Her anger is one of her main flaws. She can change her eye color to hazel when she's really enraged, but as for now, I haven't drawn her "hazel eyes" mode. Personality wise, she's spunky, but can be ruthless and unapologetic when she finally snapped.

🌸 Upgraded AU, the Elegant yet Cool Onna-Musha 🌸

P.S. Onna musha is another term of onna bugeisha, which means "woman martial artist". It is also sort of a wordplay, bc in season 1-3 Yumi's Lyoko form is a traditional geisha.

Tbh she has a lot of changes. Her initial upgraded design was more Chinese-looking, not Japanese (bc my dumbass brain thought that using halloweencostumes.com was a good idea for costume design), so I changed it entirely to be a mix of original design and garage kids fused together. Oh, she also wears black fingerless gloves, a breastplate, a Japanese-styled shoulder guard/pad, and bandages on her left arm. No full body design, but i might change her boots a bit.

I prefer using this route for Yumi in my post-S3 AU, and I already hate S4 for making Yumi's Lyoko form look more like a bunnygirl, so... welp. This AU Yumi doesn't have changes personality-wise to the normal Yumi, but probably... I'll change bits of it gradually. Her secondary weapon will be a naginata!

🐱 Neko Yumi, The Cutest Virtualization Bug Ever 🐱

Basically it's season 1-3 Yumi with cat ears and tail because of a "DNA fusion" with her adopted pet cat. I might make a nekomata variety of this, but let's see.

This literally is just a random idea bc I love kemonomimi. The ears, bell and tail color is based of my Twitter friend's pet cat, they named it Yumi too 🐱 (Bc their twitter account is privated, here's the cat)

😈 Onryo Empress, the Seductive yet Destructive Demon-Ghost 😈

People been saying she looks like Nezuko or any other Kimetsu no Yaiba character, but this design is more influenced by the geisha in identity V.

According to Epsilon, Onryo Empress Yumi is not awkward at all and is a superb seductress. Which, while great for Ulrich, is not great for everyone else. One look at the Onryo Empress and you understand that this is a true queen of darkness.

💀 X.A.N.A.-Yumi, Simple But Intimidating 💀

X.A.N.A.-Yumi is personally my most favorite design of all these AU Yumis I ever created. She is basically a fusion between oiran, geisha and kunoichi. Sorry for the messy motifs of her kimono whatsoever, those are supposed to be lilies.

Roxana Agrece (The Way To Protect The Female Lead's Older Brother): they're both beautiful and delicate-looking women who are actually way more cunning and ruthless than they appear, use a kind of flying insect (butterflies and dragonflies respectively) as weapons, and have a silver-haired, golden-eyed love interest (again, random).

Akiko Yosano (Bungou Stray Dogs): they were both worshipped and used because of their abilities until something made them snap.

Neko (K): both are pink-haired girls who can turn into cats and can manipulate the senses/perception of others

As egotistical as she is pretty, Esme is a spoiled rich brat who thinks she’s the best at just about everything. You’ll probably enjoy knocking her down a peg and getting rid of that pride.

While she may appear confident on the surface she’s far more insecure inside and has a need for validation. Whether or not you give her that will change her treatment of you.

It will take time, effort, and discipline to get her to open up. She needs some strictness to learn.

She’s never truly had a home in her life nor someone who truly cared for and loved her. She sees being in the facility as a chance for both and hopes you will love her as much as she loves you as well as her alone. If not she’ll definitely try to get your attention hardcore.

As she’s quite lustful, the usual punishments will not be so effective and will only serve to excite her, so you’ll need to get creative about discipline and rehabilitation.

Fortunately for you, she doesn’t want to hurt you. Very unfortunately for you, she is obsessed with you and highly possessive and envious. You are the one thing left that brings her a genuine feeling of love and comfort, and she’s going to have you be hers alone no matter what it takes.

Honestly she doesn’t need to fix her personality like most the other girls so much as she needs to kick her habits and stop being impulsive. And get over her deep guilt over what she did that got her sent her…

6. Ava (Greed)

Ava is well, frankly impossible. Super greedy, absolutely entitled, and completely raised to be ruthless and self-assured. She’s got as high confidence as she does IQ but she sees kindness as weakness and sees her as above you.

She’s the heiress to the Ziria Corporation, an international multimillionaire Hardware company that’s not exactly known for their compassion. They’re corrupt and vicious. The current CEO, her father, I taught her that the only thing that matters in life is success, be it in money, power, or progress. Everything else is nothing, all that matters is upwards mobility and gains. She’s as cold, calculated, and manipulative as he is.

To make things way worse, her dad has donated a lot of money to the facility and as a result she has both privileges and authority no one else has. She’s more than willing to use her power over you to her advantage.

A spoiled, material girl who thinks kindness is weak is definitely going to need some serious discipline to change but her position makes discipline basically impossible…

7. Lunar (Sloth)

Lunar, the little Fox girl, sleeps all day and night, only staying up for about three hours a day (And not consecutively) and spending all that time watching Mecha Anime and playing video games. She lacks any real motivation or direction.

Her parents never gave her any attention no matter what she did, be it good or bad. She gave up and realized since she was never rewarded nor punished she could just do whatever she wanted, and so she became very lazy.

Unlike most of the other girls, Lunar doesn’t have any reason to dislike you nor the facility, and so she is not hostile. She’s still very lazy and refuses to do any type of school work or work in general, as well as refusing to stop being lazy.

Truly kind at heart, Lunar is a pure fox girl.

8. Jules (Youth)

Jules is unique from the other Bad Girls in that she is not based off a Deadly Sin but on a big theme of the Bad Girls series, redemption.

Jules grew up to be a miserable criminal and ended up shot dead by her crime boss. As she died she thought about how miserable her life was and how much she regretted. She wished she could have led a different life and closed her eyes ready for her end, but when she opened them she was over ten years younger and in the juvenile facility of her past. It was her second chance! The powers above gave her her dying wish.

Now she’s ready to listen to you completely and try to work on herself as a person until she has healed from all her past trauma and get rid of her flaws. A sharp contrast from the other girls she is ready to work on herself. The challenge is not in her resistance but in helping her face her demons and win.

Mature, insecure, gloomy, but hopeful and bold she is a complicated individual with many layers she’ll need to work past. She also is not resistant to discipline or punishment as she sees it as necessary for growth so she’ll be fine with it and may even request or enjoy it…

Tropical Vacation pt. 2

Hey hi hello! This Is the last part for the day, I felt bad since the first one was so short and uneventful.

This one was funny to write, I liked writing Monokuma and Monomi's 'fight' scene xD

“KAZUICHI, I AM GOING TO DESTROY YOU!” Gundham yelled after his friend, chasing him down the beach in a full on sprint. The chase didn’t last very long though before Nekomaru quickly got In the middle of the two and held the breeder back.

“Easy Tanaka!” He barked. “What the hell Is going on?!”

“Yeah, Why are you so worked up? You guys sparrin’?” Akane asked..

“He’s trying to kill me!” Soda accused, pointing his finger at the angry boy in front of him.

“This fiend used some kind of powerful unseen force to send me flying into the water!” Gundham responded angrily. “You are lucky my Devas were not with me!”

Now that he mentioned It, Nekomaru did notice that Gundham was soaking wet.

“Easy dude! I was just playing around, I saw Sonia had your scarf and your zhu zhu pets!” Kazuichi retorted.

“THEY ARE NOT ZHU ZHU PETS!”

Nekomaru sighed in exasperation, why can’t It ever be something… normal with these two? “Y’know what, fine.” The larger student pushed both of them to the ground and proceeded to pin them both and tickle them. “If you’re gonna fight with each other… Then you’re gonna laugh with each other!”

Kazuichi shrieked as he felt his ribs being attacked, he cursed himself for not changing out of his swim attire back into his jumpsuit before launching Gundham into the water.

“NEHEHEHEKO NOHOHOHOHO!”

Gundham wasn’t much better off, Nekomaru was mercilessly tickling his exposed neck and collarbone. “FUAHAHAHAHAHA! F-FIEHEHEHEHEND STAHAHAHAP IHIHIT AT OHOHONCE!” He tried bringing his shoulders up to protect his neck but as soon as he would, Nekomaru would then attack his belly and hip, making his arms instinctively shoot back down to protect his body.

“Not until you two agree to stop fighting.”

“NOHOHOHO WAHAHAHAY! HEHEHE’S THE ONE WHO TRIHIHIHIED TO KILL ME!” Kazuichi cackled, flailing uselessly.

The Ultimate Team manager narrowed his eyes at the pinkette, he leaned down and blew a raspberry against his belly whilst vibrating his fingers into his ribcage.

Kazuichi exploded with screaming high pitched laughter, throwing his head back in the sand as he frantically shoved at Neko’s head and kicked at the sand.

He pulled back grinning then turned to Gundham, whose belly he was still tickling with his other hand. “Don’t think I forgot about you!” He teased, leaning down and blowing a raspberry against his neck.

Gundham burst into loud laughter, rivaling Kazuichi in volume. He tried to push Nekomaru away but this only seemed to encourage him, his other hand left Kazuichi giving him a chance to breathe and instead began poking at Gundham’s ribs and underarm teasingly.

He delivered another deadly raspberry to his sensitive neck, this time drawing a loud squeal followed by booming belly laughs. “GAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! NAHAHAHAHAHAHA PLEHEHEHEHEHEHEASE!”

“Do you agree to stop fighting with Kazuichi?” Nekomaru asked, after a moment of no response he gifted him yet another raspberry.

“EEEAHAHAHAHAHAHA! FUAHAHAHAHAHA!” Tears were in the Supreme Overlord’s eyes from laughing so hard already.

“I’ll ask again, Are you gonna stop fighting?” He repeated, speeding up his tickles.

This time he was met with frantic nods. Nekomaru stopped tickling Gundham and turned back to Kazuichi. “Now, Will you stop fighting with Gundham?”

“As long as he doesn’t fight with me…” Kazuichi said nervously, sitting up.

“I don’t think that’ll be an issue, If he does, He knows what will happen to him!” Nekomaru laughed in amusement.

Gundham shakily sat up. “D-Do you also… vow… not to… push me Into anymore… water?” He panted.

“I dunno man, That’s kind of a hard one. The look on your face was hilarious!” Kazuichi grinned.

Nekomaru glanced at Gundham, upon seeing the somewhat downcast expression on his face he grabbed Kazuichi and held him down.

“ACK! Hey hey hey! What are you doing?!” He panicked.

“Promise you won’t throw him In anymore water.” He ordered.

“Okayokay! Jeez! I promise I won’t throw him In the water again!”

“And apologize to him.”

“What?!”

“You hurt his feelings, apologize for pushing him in the water.”

“No way! He didn’t apologize to me for chasing me!” Kazuichi fired back.

Nekomaru sighed. These damn kids never learn do they? “Gundham, C’mere.”

Gundham shuffled closer, looking questioningly at the larger student. “Yes?”

“There’s something I want you to do.” Nekomaru replied.

“What Is It, Fiend?”

“Hey, I don’t like where this is going…” Kazuichi squinted at Nekomaru, suspicious.

“Tickle him without mercy until he says he’s sorry.” The muscular student grinned at the horrified shriek that came from Kazuichi.

The Mechanic began frantically squirming, though he wasn’t able to move very much thanks to Nekomaru being freakishly strong. “Nononononono!” He didn’t much care for the dark look in Gundham’s eyes, nor the evil smile that followed.

Meanwhile further down the beach, the rest of the students were just chilling and enjoying the day. Or trying their best to.

“Are you sure we should not go check on Kazuichi and Gundham?” Sonia asked.

“Nah, I’m sure they’re fine.” Chiaki replied, building a sandcastle version of Princess Peach’s castle.

“Or one of them has finally killed the other and we’re going to have our first trial.” Hiyoko smirked. “I’m betting on Kazuichi being the dead person.”

Sonia looked horrified.

“Hiyoko!” Chiaki and Hajime chastised.

Mahiru approached the mischievous girl. “Okay, That’s a timeout.”

“What? But I--”

“Go sit on the steps!” she pointed to the steps leading to the beach, Hiyoko pouted and complied silently, crossing her arms as she sat down.

“Listen, I’m sure those two dumbasses are fine, Hiyoko’s just a bitch.” Hiko tried to reassure the blonde, Hajime tried not to laugh at that, but a chuckle slipped out. Mahiru wasn’t as amused.

“Hiko!”

“Where’s the lie?” Hajime whispered under his breath.

“Both of you get a timeout too.” Chiaki said as she stood up, she pointed to a second set of stairs. “Go sit until you can be nice.”

“Why? It’s--”

“I’m not going in fucking timeou--”

Chiaki squeezed Hajime’s side and poked at Fuyuhiko’s ribs, making them both immediately shut up. “Steps.”

They both complied, muttering under their breath as they sat down on the steps next to each other.

“You guys worried about Kazuichi and Gundham?” Akane asked, coming from the direction of said two students. “‘Cause they’re fine, Coach Nekomaru Is helpin’ them.”

Sonia let out a sigh of relief, her hand resting over her heart. “That Is good to hear, Gundham was quite mad when--”

She was cut off by a blood curdling scream that sounded vaguely like Kazuichi coming from the other side of the beach, followed by laughter. Sonia giggled. “I think I will go check on them anyway.” She said as she stood and walked off.

“Nekomaru Is wrecking them, Isn’t he?” Nagito asked amusedly.

“Oh totally.” Akane grinned. “I kinda forgot how vicious of a tickler he is, kind of makes me wanna challenge him to a tickle fight.”

“I think you’d lose.” Mahiru smiled in exasperation.

“For some reason, I get the impression that’s what she wants.” Hajime chuckled.

“Goodness! Whatever was that horrible scream?” Usami asked, appearing out of seemingly nowhere.

“Oh hey Usami.” Chiaki greeted the pink and white rabbit with a small smile. “It was the sound of Kazuichi getting tickled.”

Usami let out a small sigh of relief, then giggled. “Oh, That’s a relief. I am glad It was the sound of friendship, I thought for a moment that Monokuma had reappeared.”

“You rang?” Monokuma asked, suddenly next to her.

“Uwaaah! Where did you come from!?” Usami cried out in surprise.

“We could ask you the same thing…” Hajime said quietly.

“Wha? Has no one ever explained the bears and the bees to you?” Monokuma asked, tilting his head. “Alright I guess. Well, when two bears love each other very much--”

“Nooo! That is too mature for this audience!” Usami protested, putting her little hands on Monokuma to stop him.

“She does realize we’re not kids… Right?” Nagito whispered to Chiaki.

“For some reason, I don’t think she’s talking about us…” She whispered back.

Monokuma growled, his red eye flashing briefly before he shifted and threw all of his weight into his shoulder, promptly sending Usami flying from the force. “Keep your dirty pure hands to yourself, Monomi!”

“Uwaahh! It really hurts when you shoulder tackle me!” she cried, hitting the ground next to Chiaki.

“Anyways! I have an announcement for you Goody goody losers!” Monokuma said loudly as Nekomaru, Gundham, Kazuichi and Sonia all rejoined the group.

“Oh great, I get back just In time to listen to the homicidal tanuki.” Kazuichi frowned.

“For the last time, I am not a tanuki!” Monokuma snapped, raising his hand to threateningly show off his claws.

“He Is right, Children! Monokuma Is a bear, and--” Usami was cut off by Monokuma stomping over to kick her In the head.

“I don’t need your help!”

“Oogh! It hurts when you punt me too!” she sobbed, curling up in the sand. Chiaki got down on the ground next to her to comfort her.

Monokuma cleared his throat. “Now that Monomi Is done interrupting me, I have an announcement. As you know, I am the headmaster of Hope’s peak. That school, just like this island, Is currently full of students!”

“What?! There’s more than just us trapped by you?!” Kazuichi asked, shocked.

“Why are you telling us this?” Peko asked, crossing her arms.

“I’m glad you asked!” Monokuma bellowed. “Because, I think my students are starting to get depressed… So I think they might benefit from a change In scenery!”

“You don’t mean…” Hajime trailed off, nervous as to where this was going.

“Are you going to let those students out of the school??” Usami asked, surprised.

“Yup! Only for a while though, I wouldn’t want you all conspiring against me once you get acquainted with each other! I just hope those cold blooded killers can behave themselves for a few minutes...” Monokuma replied. “Puhuhu, Oops, did I say that out loud?”

“Acquainted with each other…?” Mahiru repeated. “You mean you’re…”

“You’re going to let them loose, Here!?” Kazuichi finished for her.

“You guessed It! Sharkboy Is today’s winner! Tell him what he’s won, Monomi!”

“W-What? What are you talking about n--”

Monokuma jumped into the air and elbow dropped the rabbit. “Nevermind! My joke Is ruined now, you’re so useless!”

“Uwah! It hurts when you elbow drop me!”

Hajime sighed at the scene before him. Is anything ever normal with these two?

After that, Monokuma left saying he had other business to attend to, After Usami had calmed down from getting a third strike from Monokuma she stood up and dusted herself off.

“What was he talking about? There aren’t really other students… Are there?” Mahiru asked apprehensively.

“No way, He’s clearly lying to us!” Kazuichi answered.

“There’s one way to find out…” Chiaki mumbled, looking at Usami. “Usami?”

“Y-Yes?”

“Was he telling the truth? Are there really more like us?” The pink haired girl asked softly.

Usami nervously looked away, stammering as she spoke. “W-Well, I don’t… i’m not…”

Chiaki frowned. “So It’s true. Is what he said about them true too?”

“N-No! I don’t… Think so…” Usami sighed softly, sitting on a beach towel. “Yes there Is more like you. I didn’t want to leave them, Please believe me! But I didn’t have time to grab any more of you before Monokuma showed up again.”

“Why didn’t you tell us before?!” Hajime snapped.

“Uwah!” Usami jumped In surprise, her ears drooping sadly. “I-I couldn’t! I felt too guilty and horrible for having to leave them behind! I can only imagine the horrors they’ve had to endure because of Monokuma.”

Chiaki gently petted the rabbit’s head. “It’s okay, It’s not your fault. It’s Monokuma’s fault.”

Usami sniffled, her ears perking back up. “Th-Thank you.” she cried. “But, I am at fault too. I should have fought him at that point, But I was scared and worried about what would happen to you all if I were to lose… I guess In the end It didn’t matter anyway.”

“So just to confirm, there’s a whole other group of students about to be released onto the island and we have no idea if they’re participating in the killing game or not...?” Mahiru asked quietly, fear prominent in her eyes.

Hiyoko got up and went over to her girlfriend, wrapping her arms around her to comfort her. “It’s okay, Mahiru! I won’t let them hurt you!”

Mahiru blushed. “I-I wasn’t scared!”

“I am afraid so.” Usami confirmed grimly, though the next moment… “However! This could be a very good thing too, Perhaps they are like you and refuse to play his game!” She suggested brightly.

Hajime felt a pit In his stomach, It took him a while to warm up to and trust the students trapped with him... he was definitely nervous and untrusting of this.

“Usami Is right!” Nagito spoke up. “We have to stay *Hopeful!”

Oh here we go…

“They are Hope’s peak academy students, after all! I’m sure they’re as reserved and strong willed as all of you Ultimate’s!” Nagito smiled, getting that look In his eyes again.

“Nagito…” Hajime said warningly, not wanting to listen to his speech again. “Remember what happened last time you droned on about Hope and Ultimates?”

“Oh, Right! Sorry, I guess even trash can be forgetful too, I’ll try to stop.” He smiled sympathetically at the Tsundere student.

“Stop calling yourself trash.” Chiaki frowned.

“But…” He stopped himself as Hajime and Chiaki both folded their arms and glared at him warningly. “O-Okay… Even though I am…--”

“Say It, and you’ll be sorry.” Chiaki puffed her cheeks in annoyance.

Nagito blinked, weighing his options. “Why are you so upset about me calling myself trash? I am trash. Do you get mad at everyone for speaking the truth?”

Unfortunately as he usually does, He chose incorrectly. Chiaki threw herself at the taller student, knocking him over into the sand. She then began squeezing his sides in rapid succession, avoiding his attempts to dislodge her hands quite easily.

“W-Wahahahahait! Chihihiaki!” Nagito squealed, trying to protect his sensitive sides from her merciless wrath.

“I warned you.” She deadpanned.

“Usami, Do you think we should be worried about these students?” Nekomaru asked over Nagito’s laughter.

“I don’t think so, I think we should welcome them with open arms! Who knows what horrors they’ve seen? We should treat them with kindness and love!” She answered.

“Then that’s good enough for me!” Neko grinned.

“Yes, I think It will be nice to make some new friends!” Sonia beamed, her eyes glittering happily.

“And who knows? Maybe there’ll be some cute girls In the class…” Teruteru said slyly.

“If you make any unsavory advancements towards the new mortals, I will put a curse so vile on you that even your future spawn will be cursed!” Gundham threatened, making Teruteru immediately shut up and shrink back with fear.

“I guess It doesn’t hurt to have some new friends…” Kazuichi reluctantly agreed with Sonia, no one was surprised.

“Ibuki thinks It’s a great idea! Maybe Ibuki will meet a musician to rock out with!” Ibuki’s eyes became starry at the prospect.

“Hey guys…?” Hajime spoke up hesitantly.

“Maybe there’ll be a gamer I can play with…” Chiaki smiled, still mercilessly tickling Nagito. “Or y’know… A therapist for Nagito…”

“Whyhyhy would a-ahahaha therapist wahahahaste their tihihime on sohohomeone lihihike mehehe?” Nagito laughed.

Chiaki narrowed her eyes at the Lucky student, attacking his belly with clawed hands. “You’re just asking for It, Aren’t you? Do you enjoy being tickled, Nagi?”

“NOHOHOHO!” he squealed, trying to curl In on himself.

“M-Maybe I-It won’t be s-so bad.” Mikan said hopefully. “I’m sure they a-are nice!”

Mahiru glared at Hiyoko, sensing she was about to say something unpleasant, The blonde girl immediately shut her mouth and snuggled more into Mahiru.

“Perhaps there will be someone who is knowledgeable with swords…” Wow, even Peko seemed enthusiastic about this-- well, as enthusiastic as Peko can be.

“Ooh! Maybe there’s someone strong I can fight with!” Akane’s face lit up excitedly.

“Guys? Aren’t you the least bit worried? What If they’re just like Monokuma said…?” Hajime asked.

“What’s to be worried about? If they step outta line, We can just beat ‘em up.” Akane grinned.

“We are NOT going to beat them up!” Nekomaru argued. “There are other ways of dealing with violent students than fighting!”

Akane put her hands on her hips and looked questioningly at Neko. “Oh yeah? Like what?”

Nekomaru glanced at Kazuichi and Gundham, who both seemed to blush at his gaze. “Things…” was his vague answer.

“I’m with Hajime on this one.” Fuyuhiko spoke up, standing up. “The thought of people we can’t trust coming on to the island makes me… kind of nervous.” he admitted.

Mahiru nodded in agreement. “Yeah, I agree too.”

“I’m kind of indifferent.” Hiyoko shrugged. “Maybe they won’t be as lame as you guys… but on the other hand, I don’t want Mahiru to be afraid.”

“I-I told you I’m not afraid!” The tsundere girl stuttered.

“It’ll be okay, guys.” Chiaki said softly, her tone contradicting her ruthless tickling. “As long as we stick together, We’ll be fine.”

“YEHEHEHEAH! WHAHAT SHE SAHAHAHAID!” Nagito cackled as she squeezed his hips. “YOUHUHU GUYS ARE ULTIMAHAHATES, THERE’S NOHOHOHOTHING YOU CAHAHAN’T HANDLE!”

“You’re an Ultimate too.” Chiaki reminded, pausing her ticklish attack. “And you’re valuable. Not trash.”

Nagito giggled tiredly as he caught his breath. “But compared to you guys… I’m not all that special…”

“Neko, He still hasn’t learned.” Chiaki called over her shoulder. Nekomaru sat down next to them and cracked his knuckles.

“I got this!” He chuckled, The next moment the air was filled with Nagito’s shrieking laughter as Chiaki and Neko proceeded to destroy the man with low self esteem.

Hajime was silent as he thought about the possibilities, It just wasn’t sitting right with him. But If Chiaki could look on the bright side… Maybe he was overreacting…?

He felt a hand rest on his back, looking to his left he saw Fuyu offer a brief reassuring smile, showing that he was just as nervous as Hajime but more worried about comforting him. Hajime faintly smiled back and put his arm around Fuyu’s shoulders, pulling the Yakuza into his side.

Mahiru gently punched Hajime’s shoulder affectionately. “It’ll be okay… We just gotta stick together like Chiaki said…”

Hajime sincerely hoped she was right about this…

i've been rethinking neko lately. initially i imagined them a lot like kurapika, this cold caculating ruthless pragmatist with fiery convictions. but i think for a lot of reasons they work better as an idiot. more like an incompetent comic relief villain. someone who's definitely malevolent but too childish and delusional to be actually scary

Currently thinkin' about:

A person from a super powerful/important family is looked down on by their parents and siblings (maybe even regularly abused), and it causes them to become really quiet/submissive. Which in turn just makes their family hate them even more 'cause they're supposed to be confident and strong and all that, instead of dishonoring the family name with whatever this is.

BUT THEN

Someone even more powerful than the protagonist's entire family combined appears and conquers/takes them down. Maybe Protagonist is a royal, and their country gets taken over by some hella feared Lord of another kingdom. (bonus points if the enemy Lord is not a human👀👀)

So then, the protagonist and their family get captured and brought before the invading Lord, and the Lord is like 'Bow to me and I'll spare your lives.' and Protagonist's relatives are all self-centered dumbasses who refuse. (and maybe even spit some threats and insults at the Lord)

But the protagonist is all quiet, and while their family is being stupid and yelling, they just walk forward a few steps and then bow down and shakily mutter out some plea for mercy.

AND THEN THE LORD IS LIKE: 'WELL, AT LEAST ONE OF YOU IS SMART,' AND THE REST OF THE ROYAL FAMILY GETS EVEN MORE PISSED AND TRIES TO ATTACK PROTAGONIST, BUT THE LORD JUST HAS THE GUARDS DRAG THE FAMILY OUT OF THE ROOM AND THROW THEM IN THE DUNGEON.

So then, the protagonist is like: 'holy shit. what the fuck, what the fuck-' in their head, and the Lord makes them into their personal servant. (👀👀)

And maybe a little something something happens between them????👀👀👀👀👀👀

AND MAYBE LATER, AT SOME POINT, WE SEE PROTAGONIST'S FAMILY ALL BEAT UP, HALF-STARVED, AND IN CHAINS WHILE THE PROTAGONIST IS JUST SITTING IN THEIR NEW MASTER'S LAP, LOOKING BETTER THAN EVER, BEING HAND-FED STRAWBERRIES OR SOME SHIT-

And protagonist just can't help but secretly send their family a smug grin that sets them all off and gets them in trouble for misbehavior. (and its BIG trouble, since they're misbehaving right in front of the Lord)

Maybe they straight-up get another ruthless beat down, right then and there, and the protagonist is barely holding in happy giggles because they had wanted to see those bastards get a taste of their own medicine for so long now.

Maybe the Lord notices this and connects the dots, having seen the scars littered all over Protagonist's body??

AND THEN WHEN THE GUARDS ARE DONE BEATING THE FAMILY, THE LORD JUST TELLS THEM: 'THAT WASN'T ENOUGH, KEEP GOING,' AND MAYBE SOME OF THE FAMILY BREAK AT THAT MOMENT AND PLEAD THE LORD FOR MERCY?????

SO THE LORD JUST ASKS PROTAGONIST WHAT THEY THINK, AND PROTAGONIST JUST GETS THIS DEVILISH HAPPY GLINT IN THEIR EYE AND SAYS: 'MASTER, THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE EVEN DARED TO THINK ABOUT DISRESPECTING YOU LIKE THIS.'

AND THE LORD AGREES WITH THEM TO THE FAMILY'S FURTHER HORROR. AND THEN, THE LORD AND PROTAGONIST WATCH TOGETHER AS THE FAMILY'S BLOOD AND TEARS STAIN THE FLOOR. AND LISTEN TO THEM SOB AND BEG-

And after a while, the Lord forgives the family (basically before they can die) and has them thrown into the dungeon again. (or wherever they're being held)

Afterward, the protagonist becomes even more sweet/obedient to show their gratitude for the show, and the Lord spoils, and falls for them even more-
