⎯ if you ever need someone to pull you back when you get too erratic? leave it to dan heng! if dan heng needs someone to make him not sound as assholeish? leave it to you! you two balance each other out in the most perfect way

needless to say, he does appreciate your energy. most of the time, he usually fuels it (he says something purposefully boring bc you always refute his his boring response). your entire being makes him smile (which is rare), and that's why you guys work out so well.

and to add to my point, dan heng is just as important to you as well. you have a lot of energy, which is a good thing, but sometimes it can lead to distraction/erratic behavior/etc. dan heng is always the person who tugs you back to earth. he's your rock in every situation: he's the logical reasoning behind your ideas, he's your pragmatist, and he's your gravity, keeping you still and calm when needed.

he doesn't shut down your ideas. he just adds logical reasoning to them. those are two very different things. if you have a good idea (you usually do) that sounds reasonable (it doesn't even have to be extremely reasonable either), he'll full on encourage it.

— so you could literally have the most random and out of pocket idea ever, and as long as you back it up with some evidence (doesn't even have to be good), dan heng will approve. i think that's true love.

⎯ such a chaotic duo like you would sacrifice yourself for the world but HE would definitely sacrifice the world for you.

⎯ you guys are enemies to lovers

⎯ ik a lot of people expect like friends to lovers or something softer but NO you guys are enemies to lovers.

⎯ gepard is so HEADSTRONG and STUBBORN which is why i think he’s the perfect person for the enemies to lovers trope. like ofc his love is going to be so sweet and kind later, but the beginning…

you two are both going to be very determined and you will both fight for what you believe in. that passion makes you two such a good couple, and it also makes your love exhilarating and ongoing, bc that stubbornness you two share will never go away.

you guys definitely have silly little banter and those moments where you guys accidentally brush hands and you guys both blush. lingering touches that may insinuate another feeling that gets you hot

⎯ but you two are like stubborn af. so no confessing anytime soon! it would definitely be a slow burn romance because of your stubbornness and you two are just in denial

⎯ i want to talk a bit more abt you two being enemies: i guess you ideals differ because gepard is so devoted to his orders while you are more of a carefree spirit. you’re more of a rule breaker and he’s more of a rule follower.

hear me out: you guys both met in the past because you two were both stellaron hunters. however, the paths you two chose were different. you two were so in love with each other, but destiny had other plans.

now we are in the present, where blade sees you once again, and all his feelings come crashing back down into him. everything he’s suppressed about you: your face, your smile, your laugh; it’s all coming back up

⎯ ARE YOU GUYS SEEING THE VISION!!!!

⎯ you guys make your first encounter, and (depending on your own scenario) it either ends in longing or pain. blade hasn’t seen you in (probably) years.

when you end up spending more time together, the tension is THICK. old feelings are obviously not gone. body language is all pointing to you. breathing gets faster and why do you really want to kiss him????

⎯ something abt intense pining and sexual tension just gets me y’all

there’s obviously past feelings in the air, and none of you want to acknowledge it. so, you two suffice on brushing each others’ hands when you walk past each other, long stares from across the room, and watching each other’s every move.

between the both of you, you would make the first move. it’d be like an accident; it would be one of those movie scenes where the girl/guy asks, “is this weird?” and the guy goes IN and he’s like “not at all.”

⎯ and then the next day you both are freaking out bc what if fails like last time??

idk something about longing and missing someone dearly just screams blade to me. the thought of someone on your mind 24/7. blade having you on his mind 24/7??

⎯ you guys are: fake dating

⎯ i’m a little on the fence but hear me out

⎯ you two agree to fake dating because it’s both mutually beneficial. it would be no strings attached. plus, you would be able to get away from that one guy who keeps flirting with you, and sampo has evidence that he can commit to something.

⎯ but when does “no strings attached” turn to more?

suddenly, the once friendly arm around the shoulder makes your heart beat quicker. the wink he always gives you makes your stomach explode with butterflies. the friendly offering of a rose makes you blush more than you should.

you aren't the only one affected. sampo swears he feels his heart skip multiple beats after he hears you laugh at one of his jokes. when you took his hand into yours once (it was an act to fool others), his heart nearly stopped in his chest. and suddenly he finds himself making more quips and trying to get closer to you, even though he knows the risks.

⎯ now, you both are left confused with your feelings bc BOTH OF U DON'T WANT TO MESS IT UP.

⎯ you both did not think it would turn out this way. before this, you were friends making a beneficial agreement. you guys were fine.

⎯ that is a lie. i just lied. you guys always had some thought about dating each other. sometimes sampo looked a little too good, and sometimes sampo found your eyes a little too mesmerizing…

back to present time. there is so much tension to the point where you both want to explode. and then there are thoughts. maybe you want sampo to be your boyfriend for real. maybe sampo does want commitment. scratch that, because he doesn’t want commitment. he wants you. he just wants you, and that’s all.

⎯ now how do you confess? or do you just hold in the feelings

jing yuan

⎯ CHILDHOOD FRIENDS TO LOVERS. I WILL NOT BE ELABORATING BC THIS HAS BEEN IN MY HEAD FOR A WHILE.

⎯ ik he was training hard asf in his childhood, but that doesn’t mean u couldn’t have snuck in (i haven’t got far enough in the game to know if you can or not LOL)

⎯ you guys are cute little buddies, because the both of you probably had no friends! and bc of that, an adorable bond formed between the two of you.

growing up, that bond would remain unchanged. even though you lived down w/ everyone else while jing yuan was living seclusively, that never stopped you from seeing him

honestly, you thought you were always going to be best friends. but when someone asked you if you were ever going to get a boyfriend, you realized that the only person you could really see yourself with was jing yuan.

⎯ teenage you had a CRISIS. like you were freaking out after you uncovered your recent revelation. bc you can’t see yourself w ANY GUY EXCEPT YOUR BEST FRIEND??? YOU WANT TO DATE YOUR BEST FRIEND????

⎯ you think you are the only one that feels this way but it’s a LIE. bc JING YUAN FEELS THE EXACT SAME WAY.

after his training, once he rests, his mind constantly flutters to you. sometimes he scolds himself for not focusing on criticism or improvements because he’s too distracted by the fact that you’ll be coming over that day. his thoughts are literally you.

⎯ there was a period in time where you both thought about confessing, however, the whole fiasco w/ his mentor got into the way of that. it was messy, it was sad, and it was not a good time for the both of you. bc of that, you two both set back your feelings due to personal reasons (you wanted him to be emotionally better, he didn’t want to be a burden).

it was years later when you two confessed your feelings for each other. you two were both looking at a photograph of the both of you when you guys were younger, and you confessed you had a crush on him back then.

bro goes, “i have a crush on you too.” and you were like, “haha we should’ve told each other,” but then you’re like PRESENT TENSE!?!?!?

⎯ eventually it is a happy ending in the end! obviously. hehe.

Breathtaking New Frescoes Found at Pompeii

Stunning Roman frescoes have been uncovered by archeologists in Pompeii, the ancient city destroyed by an eruption of the volcano Mount Vesuvius in the year 79 AD. Experts say the newly discovered frescoes are among the finest ever to emerge at the renowned archeological site.

The works of art line the high walls of what was once a large banquet hall. The walls themselves were painted mostly black, and the figures on the frescoes appear to emerge from the shadows. Site director Dr. Gabriel Zuchtriegel told CBS News partner network BBC News that the dark color was likely used to hide stains from the lamps that lit the hall after the sun went down.

"In the shimmering light, the paintings would have almost come to life," Zuchtriegel said.

Two pieces dominate the hall; one depicts the Greek god Apollo trying to seduce the priestess Cassandra. The second piece shows Prince Paris meeting Helen of Troy.

About a third of the "lost city" of Pompeii remains obscured by volcanic debris from the eruption almost two millennia ago. As scientists make new finds, they quickly move them to a storeroom to protect them from the elements.

The newly discovered frescoes, however, cannot be moved, so they have been protected with temporary roofing. Plaster glue is also being injected into the walls behind the artwork to stop them from falling down.

"We have a passion and a deep love for what we're doing, because what we're uncovering and protecting is for the joy also of the generations that come after us," chief restorer Dr. Roberta Prisco told the BBC, adding that the work was very stressful.

The dig site is much bigger than just the banquet hall.

Another fresco recovered from what was once one of Pompeii's grand properties had been on a ceiling, but it was smashed by the eruption that destroyed the city. Archeologists were able to lay out the pieces like a puzzle and recreate landscapes, theatrical masks, and Egyptian characters.

"This is my favorite discovery in this excavation because it is complex and rare," Dr. Alessandro Russo, co-lead archeologist on the dig, told the BBC. "It is high-quality, for a high-status individual."

In a bakery next to the grand property, the skeletons of two adults and a child were discovered.

Archeologists believe they may have been slaves who were trapped and couldn't flee the eruption, and were killed by falling stones.

"When we excavate, we wonder what we're looking at," co-lead archeologist Dr. Gennaro Iovino told the BBC. "Much like a theater stage, you have the scenery, the backdrop, and the culprit, which is Mount Vesuvius. The archeologist has to be good at filling in the gaps — telling the story of the missing cast, the families and children, the people who are not there anymore."

The team's discovery was just one of a number of recent revelations from the site, after they found other mythological-themed frescoes in early March and then, just weeks later, a construction site that was being worked on right up until the eruption.

The archeologists said near the end of March that they'd found a home construction project that was frozen in time by the eruption, with materials such as bricks and tools still piled up in the reception area of the home.

That Time I was on Adventuring Academy

Ok it's a clickbaity title but I've been thinking a lot about where I was in this moment, and who I am now, and what an ENORMOUS difference there is, a verifiably ocean between moments.

We can get the obvious differences out of the way like:

my name

my gender

my camera situation

all of which have improved drastically I must say.

When I was asked to do this I had published my first game supplement ever, Neverland: The Impossible Island. And I LOVE it still. For what it is, it was a killer first project. A fully playable D&D setting for JM Barrie's Peter Pan setting, Neverland. Concept and execution, I did a pretty decent job.

Gang, I was SHITTING myself during this entire interview. And I don't really even mean just because Brennan was someone influential to me, someone I didn't know at all at this point, but I was new to interviews and being on a public platform too. I was even still new as a performer, which I would confidently say is my strong suit now. I was being held together by adrenaline. Now, it's kind of hard for me to watch myself stumble through that. I've come like...an exceptionally long way since then.

And I have more to say now than I did then. Brennan introduces me so kindly as a game designer but truthfully I wasn't yet! I had written a module for D&D, and that's all. Fine, and fun, and I did a good job - but I've learned so much and experienced so much and I have so much knowledge and love and feral, unabashed passion for games now that I wish I could tell this past version of me about. I get to share that now, every single week, on One Shot - introducing people to new games and beautiful artists.

What I care about in this industry has also grown and shifted. Back then I was still fighting my way through the horde of misogynists to create space as a seemingly feminine person in the hobby by getting my mits all over their favorite franchise (D&D).

Now, I want us free from corporate fast food games, I want people to see the magnificent iceberg of art and exploration and humanity that games have that we can experience. I want designers who are paid to create their own art, not serving a corporation's image for pennies. I want to radicalize this hobby against the colonialism and transphobia and imperialism that snuck into all it's roots.

Anyway I'm SO proud of who I've become and where this moment has led me and for how far away it seems. I've lived and I have grown and I've become someone I'm even more proud of.

((oh and one final aside - this was one of the most professional experiences I ever had, from not just Brennan but everyone who set things up behind the scenes. That also taught me a lot about what was acceptable and what was not, going into future, often less good, interviews. ))

These people are considered the scout. The leaders. What this means is when it comes to relationships, they are more upfront about what they want and what their needs are. They enjoy people to let them take the lead. They are not afraid of pursuing people they want in their life. Romantically or friendship wise. They’re more picky and they are definitely more independent. It doesn’t take them long to move on. (cancers.. yeah maybe a little different but once they’re gone, it no way possible for anyone to get the back) They shoot their shot directly and can even be flirty. They do not beat around the bush at all. They like to jump straight into things. Sometimes this does backfire. Moving too fast into things. Rushing even. Thinking too far ahead. Sometimes they can stress themselves out by thinking too much into the future or may even be seen as bossy. Or pushy even.

Mutable

These people are more inclined to fluctuate. They love having variety and options. They tend to not sit still, ever. Always on the go. Tend to go well with someone who helps balance them out. They are not the neatest people, yes even Virgos. These people are not that straightforward I’ve realized only when it comes to things they aren’t passionate about. In comparison for cardinal signs, it doesn’t take much for them to pursue anything. These people struggle with finishing project, ideas, etc. They can have an idea that they sit on for days (or forever). These people are very creative though. Don’t underestimate their creativity. They just need that push to execute and consistency.

Fixed

These will be your most unconvincing, stubborn, my way or the highway type of people ever. They rarely change their minds. The way they’re used to something is how it will be for a long time. How they were raised shows up a lot in their adult life. These people enjoy routine. These people also love the thought of continuous things. These people don’t like forming deep relationships with new people. They will try to make things work. They will be very loyal people. Aquarius is known to be flaky. But they’ll be there for those who give them space and don’t conflict with their decisions and beliefs.

If anyone still remembers (lol i don’t blame you guys if you don’t, it’s been half a year), this blog, or me personally, has a long form passion project called “THE UNSPOKEN webcomic” that’s inspired by Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball that started since 2021, in the midst of Covid until now. It follows Goten and Trunks’ story and rewrites things in a more matured perspective, and currently, the project is being halted at Chichi and Goten’s martial art lessons due to many things that are happening in my life that I have to take care of and be resposible for.

My life is currently too eventful for me to actually sit back down, calm my mind and do personal things tbh, especially when i’m living in Asia, where “harsh working conditions are praised and exploited to the max”, “family and heritage are important™” and “forsake the individuality, embracing the collectivism” are the social norms. So that leads to me feeling burnt out all the time, even when i already have one of my favorite jobs ever: being a storyboard artist, and drawing my childhood dream of being a comic artist on the side.

This is, most definitely, not a vent post or anything like that. It’s more of a comic update, along with the artist’s reasons for postponing the project aka it’s due to somethings that’s out of their control, so the readers won’t have too much expectations in terms of regular updates for the comic, and can enjoy the things that I can offer here, whenever I can.

It’s still my favorite project, no doubt, but lots have changed throughout the years, and I feel like I myself outgrew the loving project, but also feeling like a growing yet lost child that knows so very little and keeps making mistakes on the things i like very much. But at least, I try my best to be a better person every day 🥴

One thing that will probably never change is, i may not be able to be “chronically online” (saying this affectionately btw) much anymore, but me posting means i want to share the good things to the world, whether the world wants to or not lol. Really hope I can get back to drawing this comic soon, mentally speaking. Or any personal creative project, really.

A Blackrock Story: A Boy with Turquoise Eyes

Happy 12th Anniversary to Blackrock Chronicle!

This comic ended up being 47 pages long (when I first sketched it, it was only 20 pages long). Since I can only upload 30 images in a post, I had to combine 2 pages into 1 image so hopefully it's still visually fine and not annoying to scroll through!

I wrote this mini-story more than 10 years ago, so I figured it was time to finally make it into a comic (after editing the writing a lot because I became a much better writer since lol).

Now, here’s another long story:

About 8 years ago, my life became so busy that to stay on top of my studies and activities, I stopped watching a lot of YouTubers, including the Yogscast.

I’ve grown up throughout the years. I had to stop acting like a kid to figure out what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I’m still an artist today, but I haven’t drawn in this way for about 3 years to pursue my real passion. I love to draw, but I didn’t have the time or inspiration to make something grand.

About 3 months ago, I suddenly got curious about how all those YouTubers I stopped watching were doing, so I checked out their channels and watched a video or two before moving on. When I got to the Yogscast channel, on the other hand, I quickly fell in love with the new content and with everyone again.

It was insane to see how immediately my love for them came back. In 3 months, I’ve watched so many videos and streams/VODs. It’s all so comforting, funny, and uplifting. Clearly, I missed so much content in the past 8 years, but at least I don’t have to worry about running out of things to watch for a while.

What made me most happy was that despite changing a lot, I never stopped being that kid who laughed at the Yogscast’s shenanigans. It just goes to show that no matter how much the world tries to push you around, you never lose that sense of joy you had as a child.

Now, about Rythian:

Since I started watching the Yogscast in 2011, Rythian has always been my favorite. I loved his series so much, especially with how he got into character to give us an immersive experience. It was an escape for me as a kid. When difficult moments were thrown at me, I watched Rythian’s series to find a sense of comfort.

So when I started watching his and Zoey’s Blackrock series, my mind was blown. The storytelling, acting, humor, and drama of the series were so immersive and touching that my creativity exploded.

I mainly use art to express myself and my interests because I struggle to talk about it. But funny enough, Blackrock was the only interest of mine that got me to not draw, but to write. I wrote a lot of short stories about the series—even how I envisioned the series would end. I was so inspired to create all the time from this series.

And what’s crazy is that at the beginning of this summer, I found all of those written drafts and notes from when I was a kid. I kept them all for 10+ years and found a very loose (and not that good) draft of this comic and I felt really inspired to finish it.

It was roughly when I was first watching Blackrock too when I realized that I can be creative in the future. The Yogscast helped me understand that I can do whatever I want for the rest of my life. If they could do it, then why can’t I?

What’s also wonderful is that even after so many years, Rythian never stopped being my favorite. When I started watching the main channel again a few months ago, I immediately found myself rooting for him whenever he was in the group videos. I just remembered how much happiness he brought me when I was younger and it makes me so happy that I still get so much joy whenever I hear his voice.

While working on this comic, I watched all of Kirbycraft and caught up on Kirby Farm. I can’t help but smile the whole time Rythian, Briony, and Kirsty interact with one another. The dynamic of these three brings me so much laughter and comfort. A part of me is upset that I didn’t get back to watching everyone when Kirbycraft was still live, but better late than never, right?

I also originally started this comic without the intention of posting it. But then I figured, Hey, it’d be great to share it with everyone who’s also been impacted by this series and the Yogscast in general, so I made this blog to post it here. Honestly, I’m not sure when the next time I’ll be able to draw is (who knew building a career takes away a lot of your energy and time?). But I think that’s what’s so wonderful about my love for Yogscast and particularly Blackrock: I didn’t make this comic for the likes or views. It was just because I wanted to, and I’m so happy to see there are so many people on here who feel the same love for them as I do.

This series and the people who made it, along with the people who supported it and loved it and continued to love it, impacted me for the better. I learned so many years ago that I can be creative for a living, and have been working hard towards doing that since.

Happy 12th Anniversary to the Blackrock Chronicle. To Rythian and Zoey who put a smile on this kid’s face even during the toughest of times.

And to the Yogscast, thank you for being there for me when I needed you all the most and for still being here when I came back. Your ability to inspire me and make me laugh never disappeared throughout the years I was gone, and I’m ready to laugh some more.

Seven Years Too Soon by NightFuchia. Basically what if a much younger Sonic accidentally set Shadow free from Prison Island. It has awesome characterization and happens to be one of my favorite stories. The rest of Team Sonic is also present

Brotherhood's Twist by @/drawloverlala even though I don't think it counts entirely as Au but it still sort of does. Unbreakable Bond ageswitch due to Zeti's meddling.

Passion's @sonic-tangled-au . I love it! So very much. The lore and backstories are so good.

Noonui's World Restored in Imbalanced Chaos au. Extremely engaging and good. Has a bunch of world building and fun concepts and lore.

Sonic's Super Totally Awesome Mixtape, though it seems to be discontinued, I'm not sure. It's pretty good so far! Takes place in the movie verse.

@brainworms-all-night-long is working on a Dreamtale Au which I'm hyped for. The tag in use is 'dreamtale and sonic tomfoolery'.

@/the-starlight-project comic is pretty good too. Mystery! And emotions. So many emotions ough.

And there's @the-emerald-isle-au by @0vergrowngraveyard . Very intriguing. 👀

The Fair Folk by Irritable_Fabulamancer, this fic is one of my favorites! Team Sonic as Fae my beloved! I love fae AUs.

On that note, if you're alright wanting to read a Fae!AU which is pretty much a sonadow fic, there is also I don't believe in fairy tales [but I believe in you and me]. Fantasy and Fae! Satbk inspired, another one that had me hooked.

My Arms Are Blue by thekyuubivixen and its unofficial, fan-continuation (My Arms Are Blue! Final Four Edition) by PlaystationPassenger. The story doesn't completely count as an AU but I'm recommending them anyway cuz they're really really good and has that watching your own show from different dimension trope. It's also hilarious and fun.

Burning Arrow, Wildfire Heart by Taranea is SatSR novelisation AU with Sonic's other friends present too, it's pretty fun. Not very accurate regarding the desert but it's a good read and I come back to reread it often. Must read in my opinion. Just don't dare use it as guide for desert travel or you'll be shriveled up in the sand somewhere

This fic. Read it, I will not elaborate this one. Just trust me :]

And don't miss out on @shadofiredragon's Legends Never Die fic. It's a future fic! And an awesome one. I won't spoil much but it is so good. She also has lots of fun AUs in the works.

Down the Foxhole series by MoonlitNightin. Sonic Prime AU series which is great! Tails' pov. The Shatterverses have their own Sonics. Engaging and great.

Feel free to check out @/Son1c's 10verse and other AUs. Those are some pretty great ones. Love the different lore and variants given to the Shatterverses in 10verse.

Spirit of the Wind by TrenchCoatGecko. Satbk inspired fantasy au. Sonamy, has focus on magic and lore and other characters as well.

@/sonicchaoscontrol comic. Another in-progress au which is also quite intriguing. Sonic jumps through a portal and exits in future where the planet is a mess. The mystery of what and how it all happened and what's going on slowly unfolds.

The Buzzsaw Dillemma by redpenship. I haven't personally read it myself but I've heard many good things about it, especially it's world building.

Incomplete and won't be updated anymore but if you haven't read them yet, DO NOT miss out on Ghosts of the Future and The Murder of Me fancomics by Evan Stanley (spiritsonic) and Gigi Deutrix (gigi-D) respectively. They're a must read. Both are available on DeviantArt.

The Heart of a Monster comic, @/the-heart-of-a-monster. It's in progress and updates regularly. Unleashed retelling, really really good with some extra lore and everyone involved.

Sometimes the Picket Fence isn’t Perfect and Sharp Edges (Sonic Prime AU) series by @/skimmingthesurfaces. I'm holding off the first one to read later, like that one book you've been saving so I'm not sure if it completely counts as an AU, still putting it in recs, and the second one is intriguing so far. I have heard a lot of good thing about the Picket Fence series.

Dark Boom by Smash50. The entirety of Team Dark in the Sonic Boom universe. Alongside it, there's also Boomtober by the same author.

It Always Snows by the 24th by Selendred had me hooked even though it's a oneshot. Great au and would love to see it explored more.

No One said I Wish by SylWritesStuff. One of my fav stories from the Sonic Platonic Fairytale Week event. It's really funny.

Sonic Phantom Forces (SPF) au comic. Sonic Forces au, blue boy gets taken away but not in the way you think, pretty cool story so far. It's in-progress and available on both Tumblr and DeviantArt. @/spfau

If Black Doom tried to be a better father by Tirainy. Don't take this one seriously. It's pure comedy and I love every second of it. Shadow is having a time for sure XD.

Silent Talkers by @brainworms-all-night-long. Takes place in the Prime Bros verse, feels intensified, all the good ones. A must read, trust me.

And speaking of the Prime Bros AU (in which all Shatterverse foxes also got adopted by Sonic and are now brothers), feel free to scroll through the 'prime bros' tag here. So many awesome posts for this particular au by everyone!

The Sonic Project by SconnieSA. Rated M but it's a pretty awesome AU and the rating is due to more serious themes and uncensored language in some parts. Highly recommending this one

Survivor's Resolve by DC111. Not entirely an AU but I must rec this fic it's so good and doea havs some AU vibes.

Sonic the Hedgehog: Attorney of Law by thedraconicwerewolf. Ace Attorney type AU with Sonic and Tails as main characters. Not too adventurous but very very fun and interesting and still managed to keep Sonic in character. Though it has a sequel started, I only rec the main story, not the sequal as it seems to be abandoned and isn't needed to be read like them cliffhanger stories.

beLIEve by Meow21. I have only read snippets from this, waiting for this story to continue but it seems to be discontinued. Felt like an epic story too and deserves to be recommended.

Sonic and the Golden Journey. Sonic gets thrown in another storybook, this time it's a children's classic fairytale. Short but very comedic and fun. Go read it.

Tales of a Samurai. I am begging you to read this one, please it's so good. Also by Taranea.

Wonderful and it's sequal Sanctuary by Inflamore for some Unbreakable Bond angst. (Kindly ignore the obliviousness of earlier ff.net for not knowing the meaning of certain symbols, there's nothing of the sort in story, trust me.)

Regrets by MazzyBooks. A high school au of sorts. Sonic centric with some heavy angst. I'm not kidding about the angst part, trust me. It had me hooked from the first chapter though and I believe it deserves a rec.

You need the cracks (to let the light shine through) by king.needlemouse. Istg this is the most underrated thing I've ever come across, it's one of my absolute favorite fics which I can never forget. Do read it.

Within this Nightmare by sonicfan1990. Sonic get transported to an alternate universe which has gone post apocalyptic and his counterpart in that universe has been dead. Pretty great story, lots of angst and everything.

Hello! I’m Xiao Tong Kong, better known as “Velinxi.” I’m the creator of the webcomic Countdown to Countdown and have been doing freelance artwork since I was a teenager. I love telling stories with my illustrations! Tumblr was where I first got my start as an artist, specifically a small fandom artist as a hobby… and now I’m somehow here! When I’m not trying my best to stay awake in front of my tablets, I’m usually cooking, gaming, or sleeping. Sometimes all three, in my dreams.

Did you originally have a background in art? If not, how did you start?

Yeah! I’ve basically been on track to become an artist since I was a child. I went to a middle school with an emphasis on arts and a high school specializing in it. I went to SVA briefly for computer arts but dropped out to pursue freelance and webcomics after my first year.

Over the years as an artist, what or who were your biggest inspirations behind your creativity?

My biggest inspirations growing up were Yuumei and Shilin Huang, two titans on DeviantArt back in the day. They still inspire me today, but the list of inspirations has grown exponentially over the years, including artists, movies, entire art movements, etc.

What was your thought process behind the creation of your webcomic, Countdown to Countdown?

Well, Countdown to Countdown started as a passion project back when I was 15, in high school, and pretty depressed. I just wanted to draw whatever story I thought was cool, inspired by my favorite media at the time. There was a very loose beginning and outline, but I was truly just writing as I drew the story. That’s why I had to stop the comic in 2018 and restart from scratch the year after. Now, the story has a set story and a clear outline. It still has similar roots, characters, and themes of neglect, abuse, and escape—but I think the story is a lot easier to follow now. It’s got an artstyle I can actually keep up with in the long run. The origin of why CTC exists also remains the same: I simply wanted to make a story I wanted to read for myself. Which happens to be about two dumb boys with superpowers navigating a hostile world that wants them dead or caged—together.

Have you ever had an art block? If so, how did you overcome it?

Oh, all the time. It’s part of the process. Personally, though—I just have to draw through it. Every month on my Patreon, I have my patrons vote on a theme I have to draw by the end of the month, and I try my best to make it as interesting as possible. I draw quite a few—tens even, of doodles or compositions for each of these themes to try to make something that tells a story while still being aesthetically pleasing and clear. I think pushing myself like this helps with art block, really. I also do remember to take breaks and simply consume other media I like! It gets the inspiration juices flowing.

Advice you would give to an aspiring creator?

If you do one—your first webcomic should be a short, fun, messy thing. It’s not often you can get it right the first time, but you’ll certainly learn a lot through sheer experience. This goes for a lot of things in art, to be honest.

What is a medium that you have always been intrigued by but would never use yourself?

3D Animation. I briefly learned it at SVA, and I think that’s enough of that tech for me. I accept that there are some things that are truly beautiful if done right, and I am too simple and lazy for it.

What is your goal for the rest of this year?

Get Countdown to Countdown book 2 finished! And live HAHA

Who on Tumblr inspires you and why?

@yuumei-art on Tumblr, still! They’ve been a huge inspiration for digital artists and storytellers online for years. I have no doubt that many digital artists of my generation have been influenced by them, and they’re still here, making beautiful art and stories. It’s a thing to behold.

Made a post to my subscribers about this, but there I'm an artist. Here, I'm just a member of a community, which survives or burns out on our collective will.

Obviously, this is hard for me to process. I've been watching RWBY since 2015; I made my blog in 2016; my First account in 2017; my channel in 2018; my Ao3 in 2019. There's been times of more or less activity in the fandom, but it's always been my favorite show, and I think it might forever be.

At least some of the love I hold for RWBY is also for the creatives who deserve better than this for their years of hard work on one of the most ambitious passion projects ever executed.

There's no harm in hoping that RWBY will continue to its conclusion, and that this team will be taken care of, so that's what I'll keep doing. Even if it doesn't, it will always have a place in our hearts. Even if the fandom dies out, each of us will still carry it with us. And even if this is disappointing, and unfair, and a matter worth grieving, I see no better way to show our love than to keep moving forward.

Aaron had been itching to get back to y/n for ages now. It had been issue after issue that had kept them intimately apart for weeks. The jet breaking down had been the last straw as he moved back toward his room in the hotel for yet another night without the warm and calming presence of his partner's body and pussy close to him. This desire to be sated had been building up for some time. Hotch wasn’t always so needy, but it had been a long road here. It had started with their last date when Aaron had come over, and they’d agreed to take a long walk and look at the fancy houses two blocks from y/n’s modest apartment. The contrast in wealth was often astounding to y/n, who every now and then complained about rents being raised every year without a change to her salary. And even though she could run her mouth about that kind of thing, she said it less and less often now that she was dating Aaron. He’d helped make her apartment much more livable by fixing the leaky faucet and putting up removable wallpaper that she could take down once she inevitably moved in with him. That was a conversation still to come, but something they were both thinking of. Aaron had done a host of other things for her around her one-bedroom unit as well while she watched him dreamily. y/n adored him in a plain t-shirt or even better, one of his faded academy shirts or hoodies from his law school days that barely held together anymore. Often after he was sweaty from a project, y/n would offer him some cold water and lead him to bed, where she’d have the pleasure of peeling off his clothes. They’d make quick work of making passionate love after they had both stripped bare, sometimes going two rounds.

But as often as they could be found in the sheets or the shower, or wherever the couple might find to have sex, they were also good at reading each other’s energy levels and not pushing for intimacy if one or both of them was not feeling up to it. Aaron realized pretty quickly in his relationship with y/n that she enjoyed him just as much relaxing on his chest on the sofa while he played with her hair as she did while he was pinning her to the bed and making her moan out his name so all of her neighbors could hear them. This was perfect for both of them because it gave them quality time to relax together and get to know each other outside the confines of sex and that side of exploration of the other. Hotch was a good bit older than y/n, and he worried that he wouldn’t be able to perform for her as much as he wanted or y/n expected. But as it turned out, they fit each other perfectly both in and outside of the bedroom. There had been no sex on their last date, as they both were exhausted, but they’d talked about the future and what they hoped to achieve this year personally and in their shared life.

Then a case had pulled Aaron away from y/n and it overlapped with Valentine's Day. He’d planned a nice dinner and to wine and dine y/n before they came back for some alone time while Jack was with a sitter for the evening. That didn’t end up happening, and y/n called the restaurant to cancel. Hotch had only had the chance to get about a twenty-minute call to y/n to tell her that he loved her before he got word that another victim had been found by Emily. By the time he’d gotten home from that case which dealt with heartache and murder, Aaron was too tired to do much else but collapse into y/n’s arms when he got to her place. She helped him to the bed, out of his oxfords, and then his tie and pants. Aaron smiled up at her and said in a quiet voice, “Sweetheart, don’t bother folding that stuff. I’ll get it dry cleaned on the weekend. I just want you in my arms, baby.” y/n turned to him and ran a hand down his jawline and dropped his clothes on the floor. y/n moved to turn off the lights in the entryway, bathroom, and bedroom before dropping into bed next to Aaron who had snuggled under the covers. Hotch pulled her close to his chest and buried his face in her neck and shoulder blades. y/n opened her legs enough for Aaron to slide one of his legs between hers. The warmth of her thighs around his leg grounded him, and y/n took his hand in hers and placed it on her side while asking, “Bad case, Aaron?” Hotch mumbled into the crook of her neck and replied, “Yeah.” y/n squeezed his larger hand. She wanted to be cognizant of his triggers, of the things that might make him relive things again either from his past or prior cases, but y/n also wanted to let him know that there was always an open channel of communication between them. So, y/n inquired broadly, “Kids?” Hotch nodded again and replied in a low voice, “Um-hm. Just two kids. Cousins. That was enough.”

Aaron rarely expanded on case details. One because it would break security protocols and two, and more importantly to him, he wanted to save y/n from the horrors of what he saw on the field. Sometimes, however, he painted her a vague picture of the team's exploits on their crazier cases without giving her any details on the unsub or the victims. Not that y/n was looking for the unsub or victims. However, she cared about Aaron and wanted to make sure he was okay physically and mentally. Dating an FBI agent did make reading the newspaper on the weekends more suspenseful. y/n would read a headline and look at Hotch and he’d come around to see what it was she was looking at and reassure her that he wouldn’t be involved in that, or that she shouldn’t be concerned. y/n’s mind snapped back to Aaron as his hand left hers and wrapped around her waist. y/n didn’t mind days like these when they were snuggled close and she let Aaron physically relax by her presence. Within a few minutes and y/n saying soft words and gentle brushes of her hand, Hotch fell asleep with y/n following shortly after.

This had all been fine and both y/n and Aaron were happy, but their anniversary was coming up and Hotch had planned another night for them to make up for missing Valentine’s. This time he had planned on making dinner for them both and then he had a vision in his mind of what would come after. He flushed at the very idea of what he had in mind. y/n was so excited about what he’d told her to expect. Something about a bottle of her favorite red wine, _y/f/d_, and some dancing in the living room with his beige couch and table pushed out of the way while their playlist was in the background. Then there was the comment that had taken y/n’s breath away when he’d whispered in her ear, “And let me add, that I’m just grateful you're on birth control too. We might need it after our night is finished.” y/n had been so flustered that Aaron took the opportunity to peck her mouth and pull back, saying, “Penny for your thought sweetheart.” y/n pulled out of her reverie and smiled slyly saying, “hmm. You’ll have to pay me a whole lot more than that for me to share. But, if you’re patient, and you wait till our anniversary, I’d be more than happy to show you.” Hotch flushed and was itching for that day to come sooner. He’d make a move now, but it was his weekend with Jack, and he wanted to spend some quality time with his son. He and y/n would spend that Saturday taking Jack to the rollercade where his son and y/n always managed to lap him and he somehow always ended up on his ass. It was going to be a fun day no matter how many times he fell.

That weekend came and went and Aaron didn’t anticipate seeing y/n again until that weekend on their anniversary because both of their weeks looked busier than usual. The anticipation only made Friday night more and more enticing. Hotch limped into the office and made it almost to his door when Rossi came out of his office and noticed Aaron’s odd gait. Dave couldn’t help but joke. “You and y/n try something new this weekend?” Hotch rolled his eyes in a way he only did when Rossi ribbed him. Aaron replied, “Unfortunately not unless you could falling while roller skating counts as something new.” He paused for a second and continued, “It’s actually been a minute since we’ve done… that.” Dave raised an eyebrow and asked, “Problems?” Hotch answered, “Far from. We’re just both busy and tired recently.” Aaron didn’t add on how he likes to be fully present and energized when he and y/n have sex. But to him, his stamina was essential so he could bring y/n to climax multiple times and in as many ways as they wanted. Aaron flushed again at the thought and said, “Now, any more questions about our personal life, Dave?” Rossi scoffed, and replied, “Nope. Grilling over. Someone has to check in on you.” Hotch rolled his eyes once more and unlocked his door to get out of Rossi’s mirthful gaze. Secretly Aaron was happy Rossi looked after him, and his sex life. It wasn’t exactly an easy topic for him to discuss with anyone apart from y/n, but it was nice to know that Rossi was invested in all parts of his life. The team was invested too, annoyingly sometimes. They all adored y/n, and she loved them too, but sometimes he caught them whispering and looking in his direction when y/n was around. He wasn’t so insecure to think that they were making fun of him, but y/n was younger than him and it could end up being a topic of conversation that he chose to ignore most days.

The day started as normal in the office but ended in one of the most frustrating cases he’d seen in years and yet another reason why he couldn’t get to y/n and satisfy their needs. When JJ dropped the case off on his desk he thought it would be a short affair. Murders in a small Texas border town normally meant that it was drug-related and the jurisdiction went back to Mexico or it was a local or personal dispute that could be easily figured out in a town of three thousand people. It turned out to be the latter, a wife wanted to divorce her husband, but the poison intended for him accidentally ended up at the family reunion killing seven people. As easy a case at it turned out to be for the BAU, as soon as the team arrived the town was swamped. The police of Procedio Texas wanted all the credit for cracking the case, but one of the victims was from Big Bend, so the Big Bend Police force sent two units to try and solve the case as well. Along with this and the constant media blast about the tension at the Southern border of the United States, State Troopers and Border agents had come as well hoping to push the narrative of fear about those immigrating and people allegedly flooding the country with cocaine.

It was a case of too many cooks in the kitchen. The precinct didn’t have enough space or resources for all of the people there, and the team was bombarded with fifty different angles and agendas upon arrival. It was annoying as if those trying to swing them in a certain direction did ‘t know full well that the BAU had to be fully unbiased as they worked. There were lots of wild leads and bad reporting and mostly it was hot. Hot and crowded. Something about the elevation and the Texas sun made sweat drip down Aaron's neck and back under his white shirt and suit in an uncomfortable way. It had been Derek who had finally cracked the wife who ended up telling Morgan and Emily that it had all been an accident. Everyone but the BAU seemed disappointed. The team was just happy they would finally be able to go home. No one could be more excited than Aaron. If the jet left in less than five hours, he’d be able to make it to the highly awaited anniversary dinner and his plans after. The thought had him a bit flustered as they finished up at the hotel and moved toward the small airstrip where the jet was being prepped.

It wasn’t until everyone was on the plane that the pilot stated after five minutes on the ground, “Hey everyone. I’m sorry but we’re going to have to disembark. There’s something wrong with the electrical system that’s just popped up and I’ll need to get it checked out before we’re cleared to fly. This made everyone groan, and Aaron ran a frustrated hand through his hair. Everyone got out but Hotch who moved to the cockpit and checked in with the pilot asking how long he approximated the fix would take. He asked for the team and himself. The man shrugged and said, “Depending on what’s wrong it could be an hour or it could be overnight. I’ll keep you updated Agent Hotchner. Sorry about the delay.” Aaron nodded and moved off the jet and onto the blistering tarmac. He knew it wasn’t the pilot's fault; he was just annoyed. Rossi had waited for him while the rest of the team went to get more vans to drive them back to the motel. Dave raised an eyebrow at him and Aaron replied to the unspoken question in a clipped tone, “He’s not sure. I have a feeling it’s going to be a while.” Rossi nodded and asked, “You sounded bummed about it.” Aaron rolled his eyes and replied, “You’re not? Tonight y/n and I had plans for our anniversary. I miss her.” Rossi got the implication and gave Hotch a pat on the shoulder as they moved toward the cars that were rolling toward them. Before they got in, Dave said, “Well, maybe it’s time to think outside the box.”

The team ended up having to get another night at the motel and after everyone had settled and put their bags back in their rooms, most of the BAU made plans to get dinner at one of the restaurants in town. Then it turned out Steve was familiar with one of her projects; he saw it used in action when back in the military.

They switched feedback and information about Hope's upgrades so flawlessly and passionately, and you just stood there with a smile, nodding your head in pretend-interest.

Hope had it all. Still. Just like she had in uni.

Including attention of your mate.

You knew Steve loved you, you didn't fear him leaving you to chase anyone else. But love didn't mean he was impressed, or interested in your meager career.

The only profit you'd gain from presenting your study at the conference would be Maria's proud face as she added to your clinic's website information about running research acknowledged at international conferences.

"Hope?" One of Steve's eyebrows quirked up, confusion settling on his face. "That beta we ran into?"

"Yes, that beta whose great improvements to the battlefield medicine-" you mocked Steve's voice- "you were complimenting less than an hour ago," you glared at him, barely stopping yourself from stomping on his foot.

"Sweet brat," Steve's hands tightened their grip on your hips, an almost painful reminder to watch your tone.

"I was a Captain in the Army and sometimes on missions things got really bad. I simply appreciate that Hope's projects helped to save lives of some of my men."

"I know her work is important." You grit out, crossing your arms over your chest. "Which is why I know everyone will look forward to her presentation and discussion panel with her. So I don't need to bother stressing over my showing."

Steve recited the full title of your presentation and research, showing you he was always paying attention to what was important to you.

"Hope's work may be desired by the big, important institutions," he said, "but it's your research that has the potential of aiding people nationally, in their day to day struggles."

Your heart melted at the conviction in Steve's voice. Through the bond you sensed a steady rhythm and a flush of fiery pride that your alpha felt about your work.

"And you know what else?" Steve bent down a little, resting his chin in the crook of your neck, his lips brushing your cheek.

"Hope has nothing beyond her career. Beneath the smell of perfume, there's only the scent of the lab on her. No partner, neither long term nor a fuckbuddy. No remnants of anyone familiar, like a friend or a pet."

"Maybe she chose it that way," Steve mused, rubbing soothing circles on your hips with his thumbs, "or maybe she spends the rest of her day being as fussy as you, feeling bitter that she doesn't have a mate and love like you."

You sighed softly, uncrossing your arms. You rested your hands atop Steve's forearms, caressing his warm skin.

You tilted your head slightly as your placated insecurities slowly retreated, living room to the mentioned fussy streak. That still wasn't entirely gone, strumming inside you with a need to act out.

"So you were checking her scent?" It was a deliberate poke, delivered with a glare.

Steve huffed and closed his eyes for a second. Then he straightened and in one swift move twirled you around.

He pushed you back against the mirror, gripping the back of your neck with one of his large hands.

"If you're sporting for a spanking until you sob all your frustration and insecurities out, I will happily arrange it." His voice remained soft, but dropped to that low octave a breath away from a growl.

"Or maybe we can make you more excited on that stage?" You gulped nervously as Steve's eyes darkened.

His lips trailed along your jaw, teeth just barely grazing your skin.

Hiro would absolutely adore your intellect, skill, or a heroic trait like bravery.

His adoration for your intellect, if you’re a genius like him, mostly stems from admiration and interest in your skill, especially when it’s something he’s never seen before.

I say skill because even if your intellect isn’t your strong suite your hobbies like art, knitting, anything that takes skill impresses him.

He knows what it’s like to have to wait for a project or experiment to finish so he not only admires your patience but just your ability overall

He’d literally be in awe if he ever saw and most realistically ask about it and if you could draw him-

I mean I’m not the type to shift the blame on anyone but if you know you did something wrong or he knows he did something wrong and is the problem then he’ll definitely apologize as sincerely as he can

If you’re the one in the wrong then he’ll very much be petty

Hell refuse to apologize first and is very stubborn

He’s honestly just hurt but also mad you won’t admit you’re wrong or apologize (if you’re hesitant to)

However once you do he’ll be a bit petty still but ultimately he’ll understand and although it can be awkward, you’ll find common ground.

I feel like hiro would gift you little things

Hiro is a guy of many talents so I’d imagine little gifts like those hearts made of gum wrappers or papers aren’t a rare occurrence for you to find

He’s always casually gifting you things whether he knows or not

And if he’s aware, he tries his best to not fluster and stutter while he shoves the gift into your hands and runs away

If you ever do mention how much gifting you things affects him then he’d definitely ignore you for a good while 😭

He takes so much offense that you’d make it obvious and would pout about it until you apologized and he’d just say “yea I didn’t really care”

He finds the relationships in his life as very precious to him so he’d definitely view your relationship as worth it

Even if it didn’t work out you’re still a close friend of his so of course you hold value to him.

He can be pretty sassy and go all out on the jokes and teasing however he can be really gentle at times

So imagine when this menace finally holds hands with you and when you turn to look at him, he’s starts tweaking

This is one of the romance part of your relationship so itd obviously be foreign to him

He’s stuttering and is this close 🤏 to combusting

His hands are sweaty and he’s constantly apologizing for it and will NOT tolerate any teasing or he’ll run away.

He’s not really able to show much affection through physical touch since he freezes up so much but at times when he knows you need support he’ll hold your hand.

It then becomes apparent to everyone around you due to the very intense blush hiro is sporting.

I do see it becoming casual eventually but that doesn’t really change hiros blush

H - Hugs (do they like hugs? how often do they do it, and what are they like?)

He isn’t really one for hugs

We’ve all seen how awkward he hugs and how hesitant he seems when giving one

But he’ll definitely give you one if you ask

Very awkwardly and stiff yet cutely tho so 🤷‍♀️

Also if you were to ever ask for a hug where everyone can see you two

Yea…no

He doesn’t hug you often at first but if you’re more cuddly then he’ll definitely get in the habit while staying with his usual attitude

His hugs are obviously stiff but they’re really nice

Absolutely terrified

Any normal person would feel this way about someone they care deeply for, but with what happened with tadashi just really made this fear even worse.

Since he’s also a hero/vigilante he’ll try his best to protect you, even if at times it can seem risky or spontaneous

Regardless of whether you’re a hero/vigilante and are able to protect yourself then he’d keep an eye on you, always.

In the actual scenario of you getting hurt during battle hiro would absolutely throw the whole plan away and go to you.

If it’s not in battle but still serious he’d be the first person asking to see you and is that person you see once you wake up.

If the injury is small he’d have Baymax assist with a bandaid or something but he’d still tell you to be more careful.

You guys can joke and tease at eachother all you want but this is one of the more serious things hiro would absolutely not want to joke about.

Even if you’re the one who got injured, he’s seriously just concerned for you.

I- I love you (how fast would they say ‘i love you’?)

So with how things have been going you’d think that hiro wouldn’t take the longest time ever due to his shyness

But he actually ends up being the first person to say it in your relationship and even says it pretty early on

Atleast in comparison to how long he’d probs take to say it

The reason he says it is only because of a fluke

He’d be all sleepy while you’re over due to an assignment the two of you have to work on or something of the sort

And because it was almost near an all nighter then best believe hiro is exhausted

And your comforting presence doesn’t make it any better

So finally when you realize hiro blissfully falling asleep you decide to cover him with a blanket and help reposition him so that he doesn’t hurt his neck while he sleeps.

While you do so you decide to also just go to sleep and when you turn off the lights and say good night to him you unexpectedly hear a goodnight back and an “I love you”

The next morning only then does hiro realize what he said and although he’s this close 🤏 to dying he still manages to tell you that he meant it

J - Jokes (do they like to joke around with or prank you? how?)

I’ve said this one and I’ll say it again

HES THE ABSOLUTE WORST

He’d joke around with humor that can best be described as gen z TikTok humor

I mean, he’s literally a teenage boy who probably had unrestricted internet access from an early age.

Let’s be real here

So he’d probably send you the Smurf cat vids, that one dancing wolf thing, and those “send to your green person 🥰” and it’s a slideshow of Shrek…

Most jokes just consist of weird teenage boy jokes and that chronically online TikTok humor 😀😭😭

He mostly just roasts you then apologizes because he realizes that it could actually hurt your feelings 🧍‍♀️

He’d probs just do lame pranks tbh

He’d just wait behind something to scare you

And even if you didn’t react he’d laugh his little ass off 🧍‍♀️

J - Jealousy (what makes them jealous? what are they like when they’re jealous?)

Despite how much hiro wants to be the non jealous type, he unfortunately fits the profile

Even if he doesn’t try, if he ever sees you talking to any guys or just hanging out with anyone else for too long then he’ll get kinda upset

He’ll ask u about it too but he’s not that confrontational unless you purposefully try to make him feel this way

If he can’t shake the jealous feeling off then he’ll end up confessing it to you between embarrassed pauses

If you try to coddle and tease him then he’ll just run away from you cuz ain’t no way

He obviously doesn’t show you physical affection besides him touching the behind of your knees to trip you so how does he? 🌝

Well he gifts and spends time with you

I’ve already explained the gift thing, he usually gifts you little origami things or snacks

Besides the gift giving his love language would more accurately be quality time

He loves to spend time with you and just spend hours joking with you in the most cringe ways

He really adores you and thinks if the time he spends with you as precious, yknow despite the boarder line bullying

He’d probably indulge you if your more into physical touch, however the most frequent hugs you’d get from him are side hugs.

Even then, he’d more than happily hug you (ofc with his usual stiff and awkward self)

Honestly just be around hiro more often than not and you’ve already won him over

M - Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

If you ever decide to sleepover (which was probs accidental from that all nighter scenario)

Then the two of you would wake up (you were woken up by him first by getting abused 😔/j)

And then make your way to the kitchen since Cass is occupied with the Lucky Cat Cafe

You guys would make an absolute mess with food due to being distracted and it was so bad 😭

Hiro even ended up burning his pancake and bro still ate it 💀💀💀

Y’all would probs have to beg Cass to make you two something and have to hurriedly clean everything up before doing so to avoid punishment

Because ain’t no way 😭

Honestly fun because you two end up walking around San fransokyo but still 🤷‍♀️

N - Nightmare (what is their worst fear?)

Anything happening to his loved ones or those he cares for.

That’s an obvious fear for any sane person but, again, because of how sudden and horrible tadashis death it just reinforced this fear even more.

The thought of anything happening to you, his friends, and especially his aunt just had his stomach churning and makes him feel nauseous at the thought.

He’d still have nightmares about Tadashi which turned into even more serious ones about others in his life

He’d really appreciate you being there for him, especially if you slept over on one of those particular nights.

O - Obvious (How obvious do they make it that they like you?)

So insanely obvious

Not only is he painfully obvious but he’s so oblivious to the fact

He’s always offering to help you, he’s one of those people that flirts by roasting or joking around with you, and the blush that just so happens to appear on his face the minute you walk in doesn’t really help his case

Let’s not talk about how his eyes would stray away from what was in front of him anytime you’d pass by

If tadashi was still around during that time he’d obviously tease hiro about it and mention it in casual conversation

Hiro would obviously end up confessing to his crush on you and tadashi would tease but ultimately encourage him like any good older brother would.

If this took place after hiro got into SFIT then he’d be encouraged by his friends who can obviously see hiros crush on you.

He doesn’t exactly try to not make it obvious but it doesn’t really matter anyway because of all the ways he physically shows his crush on you.

P - Pet Names (what do they like to call you?)

When considering pet names don’t expect him to be lovey dovey

He’d call you those cringe ass nicknames like “pookie” or “sugar booger”

Only ever calls you this to get on your nerves and absolutely evaporates when cass or anyone from the friend group overheard him calling you these names 💀

Any other “pet names” he’d call you would either be nicknames many others who are close to you call you or nicknames he makes of your name.

P - Patience (how easily do they get angry?)

It honestly depends on the day and how it’s going for hiro

He’s honestly more on the patient side and more likely to hear you or other people out

If he’s a bit more worked up from the long day at SFIT then he’ll have a harder time tolerating anything and is more prone to lashing out

Would probs just ask you to give him some peaceful silence while you’re there with him

Q - Quiet (How are the calm, quiet moments with them?)

Because of how loud and laughter filled time you spend with hiro the moment it gets calm and quiet it almost feels foreign

The two of you obviously settle down and relax for what seems like the first time in forever

Moments like these end up with you and hiro accidentally falling alseep in eachothers arms or it makes hiro feel comfortable to talk about tadashi and more serious matters

In the case of the latter, if you ever mention a serious matter then hiro will feel even more comfortable and even happy you can share stuff like this with him.

Honestly moments like these are so sweet that even gremlin hiro won’t wish for anything to disrupt them

Home dude is absolutely the least romantic person

Well that’s what he initially thought

He never really imagined a relationship in his future, but he could easily say the same about him joining SFIT

As I’ve previously mentioned, hiros go to ways to convey his love and affection to you is by gift giving and just spending time with you.

The only ways he could flirt without absolutely losing his composure is by literally bullying you and just play fighting w you

It’s the only way hiro can effectively just get along with you.

In instances of actual romantic gestures he’s pretty awkward

I mean hiros a teenager, it’s to be expected

But I feel like when there’s certain instances that are very emotionally charged

S - Secrets (how open are they with you?)

There are times where he’s secret yet open alike

He can keep secrets from you (although he’s pretty bad at it 😭) he’d probs try his best to keep his more personal issues to himself to not only burden you but just avoid sharing it.

Obviously he’s entitled to privacy but hiro would eventually learn that keeping secrets isn’t exactly the way to go

Even if he did want to keep anything from you he isn’t exactly the best so either he continues trying to lie and gives up or you seriously confront him and he admits defeat.

When it comes to other topics that aren’t so serious or personal then he’s an open book

You’re most likely in or at least aware of his schemes and plans if you aren’t participating.

S - safe (What makes them feel safe and comfortable around you?)

Your overall presence brings him comfort and makes him feel safe

It doesn’t really matter where you guys are, the streets of san fransokyo, just hitting up a corner store or even when you’re at SFIT

Most times you’re both enjoying the other and your time is usually filled with constant teasing and jokes played on each other.

When it comes to more serious discussions he’d really appreciate it if you kept quiet and gave him the opportunity to go at his own pace.

When you create this environment and make him feel like he’s not on the spot, only then can he relax and be more open with you.

Despite how chronically online he can act at times just know it isn’t how he is all the time.

He’d be pretty protective of you

Especially with how heroes have become a norm in the world of big hero 6 so he’d be more aware of where you are and what condition you’re in

He’d obviously protect you by physically defending you regardless of whether or not you’re also a vigilante/hero

But he’d also have your back if anyone were to ever pick on you

He literally just has zero tolerance policy for anyone who tries to start shit with you

It’s literally all 😐 with him cuz he really just ain’t gonna tolerate all that

T - Time (how long did it take you to get together?)

there was so many factors to consider here

You guys were obviously close friends before you started dating and feelings were obviously apparent

As was the unbearable tension around the two of you, especially with how hiro would constantly joke around how friends dothen become so painfully aware that he completely freezes up and starts stuttering 😭

It was especially awkward when you’d be around the friend group and if you met and befriended hiro before tadashis death then best believe tadashi is gonna have to bring it up to hiro.

Because of this and hiros shy nature when anything romantic happens, he seriously refuses to make romantic advances

I mean the person you’re used to joking around and boarderline bully is now a romantic interest so it’d be so odd to have to become lovers

It’s so crazy too because once you actually confess to him everything happens so fast and it’s all spontaneous

You’re casually just chilling with hiro and all of a sudden you decide to just blurt out that you like him

He’s obviously caught off guard and accidentally hurts himself, then everything just unfolds from there and despite how awkward the air is the two of you end the night dating.

T - Tend (How do they act when you’re hurt or sick, and vice versa?)

If you ever get hurt because you accidentally cut yourself or trip and scrape your knee he’ll help you and most likely just get Baymax to treat your little injury

If this is the scenario of you falling, hiro is so obviously gonna laugh his ass off before he helps you up

He’s absolutely in the dark if you’re sick

He doesn’t even realize

Which is a complete lie cuz he kept spamming your phone when you didn’t show up to classes or respond to his texts/TikTok’s

He only found out once you either finally texted him, or more likely, he showed up at your house and decided to take care of you with the help of Baymax

Honestly thank goodness Baymax was there cuz otherwise you probably would’ve died due to hiros clumsiness.

T - Tease (how do they tease you?)

The absolute devil in human form

Wolf in sheep’s clothing

Demon spawn

Call him what you will but he’s the absolute worst teaser to be around

He’ll tease the hell out of you for the smallest of things and absolutely gain joy from your reactions

Especially if you’re the type to be more visibly flustered or embarrassed than the average person

Just throw the whole thing (hiro) away at this point honestly

U - Upset (how do they act when you’re upset?)

He’s so unserious😭

He’s kinda sorta bad at getting the clue so he’d go up to you and still joke and tease thinking you’re being unserious

If you’re actually serious then he’d automatically drop his joking tone and would ask what was wrong

Whether or not you tell him or not is up to you but if you opt to not telling him he’d be there for him and be chill about it even if he’s a lil hurt

He’d probs just drop it and try to change the subject (if u want) and you’d go back to your usual playful banter.

Although, he’d probably be pretty awkward if he’d have to comfort you 😭

U - Ugly (what are some bad habits of theirs?)

A bad habit of hiros would be getting to involved with his work

Because of how his work with robotics is constantly calling his name he can not only forget to eat and just take care of himself, but he’ll also forget to even call or talk w you

He won’t even realize until he sees a “missing poster “ around SFIT with the ugliest god damn pic of him he’s ever seen

Even then if you act petty then he’ll feel pretty guilty but then he’ll turn the tables and feel offended that your guilt tripping him

Like who do u think u are? 🤨

V - Vaunt (what are they proud of? Do they like to show you off?)

He’s absolutely proud of your accomplishments

The type of boyfriend he’d be depends on how he feels and the situation at hand.

Hiro would be so proud at your accomplishments, discoverys, research and your skills

Especially if that contributed to your success to your respective major

It honestly depends how vocal he’d be about it

He’d probs cheer you on, especially when the friend group is there to cheer you on alongside him

He’d more shy and awkward to be vocal if it’s just him but he’d still let you know how he feels

V - Vanity (how concerned are they with their looks?)

Hiro isn’t really the type to be all that concerned with how he looks

I mean he’d occasionally be self conscious, but it’s mostly because he’s going through puberty and is a teenager

The only times he cares is when he’s getting ready for something fancy or when he’s going out with you

He’d probs look at himself and think that he doesn’t look bad

He’ll definitely wonder if he’s one of those ugly guys pretty people get with

Even if he isn’t all that insecure he gets so unbearably flustered and self aware if you mention how cute he looks.

W - Warrior (how do they feel about you fighting? Would they fight for you, beside you, etc?)

If you’re a vigilante alongside big hero 6 then not having you be near the fight or not fight at all is not really an option

So in this case he’d be neutral about letting you fight but he’d of course still be there to defend you in the case that anyone tries to sneak up on you

He’d definitely fight for and with you. He’d be by your side and would absolutely put his all into making sure the two of you guy’s successfully accomplish your mission and win the fight

He won’t hesitate when he learns you got into a fight with villains.

And what’s more is that he won’t hesitate when it comes to civilian fights, not physical ones but more accurately described as disputes.

He’d definitely help when you’re being targeted or cornered by people who are trying to start and argument with you.

Will most likely tell you if you were in the wrong but only after the two of you won’t the dispute

He’s not gonna throw u under the bus like that in front of others.

W - Wild card (random relationship headcanon!)

He’d info dump and uses you to rant about his interests 😭

You’re honestly a victim due to how many times he pulls you into the lore of his fav fandoms

But if you ever show interest in it he’ll gate keep it

I mean atleast if you ever wanna rant to anyone or info dump he’ll always be right there 🤷‍♀️

If you’re a victim he has to be one too

X - X-Ray (how well are they able to read you?)

He’s pretty 50/50 most of the time

Since your relationship consists of online humor and just constant jokes he can tell when you’re not in the mood pretty quickly

Like if you’re upset and not in the mood to joke around he automatically picks up on it

However there are instances where he’s just his awkward self or just preoccupied with other things like his projects

I know I said he’s like 50/50 but he’d be able to read how you feel pretty much right then and there he’s just a bit awkward when addressing it so it’d take a bit longer for him to discuss it with you

Especially if you’re not the one to mention it, then there’s just a tension that hangs over the two of you.

This applied regardless of whether or not it’s a negative emotion/situation

X - XO (How do they show you affection? How much PDA are they willing to show?)

Hiro is the most awkward stiff teenage boy

Plus he’s a nerd so it just makes his ability to act on romantic gestures even less

I don’t really imagine hiro as the type to enjoy any form of PDA

Especially since he even hesitates with hugging and is quite stiff so if you ever wanted to very obviously hold hands or even kiss-

Well then forget it because before you can even speak to him he’d combust on the spot

He’s pretty affectionate in his own way but physical touch much less PDA would not be among them.

Y - Yearn (What do they do when they miss you?)

Hiro isn’t the type to really miss you

At least hat’s what he thinks

He usually starts off his day with thinking about you and throughout his day he’ll casually mention you in his mind

Saying things like “hmmm I wonder what y/n is doing” or “y/n would like this”

Him missing you eventually becomes apparent to everyone around him whether he notices or not

Hell casually sigh while sitting at a table at SFIT or the lucky cat cafe and it will eventually be addressed by friends or Cass

The one time that they actually do have dinner together 💀

Z- Zzz (How do they act when they get sleepy? How is it sleeping in the same bed?)

The worst sleeper ever if we’re gonna be real here

If you ever say that to his face he’d take actual offense 😭

Once you and hiro shared a bed whether he fell asleep on accident or you two just wanted to he does not give you a comfortable experience

Not only does he sleep sprawled out and all over the place but he also just has no regard for you

When he gets sleepy he’s honestly adorable though so it kinda makes up for how bad he sleeps

He’s pretty delirious and out of it once he’s sleepy and he’d probably let you hug and kiss his cheek easier than he would if he was more awake.

Even then he more likely than not snaps out of it and flusters up a storm

He has the worst bed head ever 😭

But that just makes him even cuter and if you say so he either 1. Doesn’t care because he’s sleepy and just lets you coddle him or 2. He absolutely denies it and gets all sassy with you

All that sass and usual jokes all go down the drain when the two of you wake up the next morning and the both of you are cuddling and he practically flies off the bed

Which causes him to yelp in pain and wake up Baymax that just makes the whole situation even worse with his scans and analysis of your heartbeats
