I know there are as many religious good guys as there are religious bad guys in IDW, but I think I pinned down the reason why it feels like the most prominent religious figures are all bad guys and it's pretty much due to the worldbuilding.
Maybe my memory of the comics is just really bad, but the religious worldbuilding in IDW is....kind of trash honestly. I'm not sure there's a single religion or religious custom that doesn't exist solely to further the plot along. Like, it's one thing for the Camiens to worship the Primes and that causes a lot of stuff in exRID/OP, but what does that worship actually look like? What are their holidays, customs, religious texts? What about "spectralism" which basically the only thing we know about is the Festival of the Lost Light and some hippie color coding and aura shit? Like sure, there are characters who are religious and their beliefs come into play sometimes, but it honestly feels (especially in MTMTE) more like their religiousness only exists when it's relevant to the plot and it's just kinda. Disappointing eh. Lacking in worldbuilding. Plus the more religious a character is the more it's written as their entire personality and the driving force making them evil so it just kinda made me cringe to read honestly.

Between my dog (two gates, one for either entry of the kitchen), my cat (a gate around a fake plant she was obsessed with chewing bits off of and swallowing), my sister's dog (one gate for my sister's room where he hung out when no one was home because there was nothing there that he could jump up on, one gate for each of our bathrooms because he liked eating cat poop, and one gate around the couch because even when supervised he'd try to take running jumps onto it), and my sister's cat (a gate around a majesty palm that she would just not leave alone), we had eight gates in our 1000 sq ft. apartment. That's one gate more than Gondolin.
As of today, we have none, and it feels so weird.

i said it to myself when it aired and I'll say it now and always, that scene in 610 is one of the best bellarke scenes ever maybe the best scene they've had so many though!! the way he wouldn't give up on her even when gabriel and octavia told him to, the heart and the head, the way clarke won the fight against josephine after hearing him and the way she looks at him when she wakes up like she's seeing him for the first time and the hug gah!! and then her saying the heart and the head just everything about that scene was perfect!! there was absolutely nothing platonic about any of it and I was saying it for seasons before that but I was so sure they would be canon after that and be endgame and they were supposed to be until jroth was a petty pos!! people called us delusional but they wrote a scene for them getting together in 6x11 so we weren't delusional gtfo!! jroth was just a petty pos ugh like even if they weren't endgame they could've at least given us a real kiss and ily!!! though they had numerous moments that screamed ily but ugh I'll never be over them no matter how much time goes by! they are tied as my second favorite couple of all time (tied with stydia at #2 another 6 season buildup ugh) and they were absolutely incredible together and I'll never understand anyone who hates them tbh!!

Patreon Tier Highlight:
Graphologist!
A mid tier $$ at $25, see completed pages before the doodles are even edited! See minicomics before they’re ready to be uploaded, scratch pages with concepts I want to digitize, scrapped doodles, studies, concept art, a little bit of everything! Literally hundreds of pages of backlog going back through 2020 currently, all tagged fandom-specific so you can find what you’re looking for! Definitely the biggest bang for your buck, with all the lower non-art tiers as well! You can even see a few examples right here!
Also the Vargases have already surpassed 100-page appearances, so that’s a thing
That’s, to reiterate, One Hundred Pages, not 100 individual images, that they appear on, so take that as you will lol

i swear to fuck latin class teaching me that technically a vocative noun (ie. a name when someone is calling it) is supposed to be incased in commas is fucking destroying my fanfiction reading pleasure
because i keep seeing things like “Hello Larry, come help with this snapwobble problem”
and all my mind can offer
is that it’s supposed to be “Hello, Larry, come help me with this snapwobble problem.”

like. LOTS of people are mentally aware but remain entrenched in their cult because of what they would lose by leaving - family, livelihood, home, community. some cults blackmail or withhold documents or threaten violence or physically keep you somewhere, but usually social and financial dependence are the main motivators - which is another dangerous misconception, because people feel safe when these big scary things aren't happening. their intention is to trap you before things start getting bad, so being like oh some people recognise when it gets bad!! is so annoying because by that point they've still ruined your life, and most people escape cults to find themselves completely isolated, traumatised, and with no way to support themselves like hello
