IDIA SHROUD seemed to be in a good mood today, at least according to what you've seen so far. probably because his latest purchase is the cause of his being in such an upbeat mood. not that you're complaining; it was rather cute seeing him all excited and giddy when he found a new game to play. it's like a whole new, different side of him comes out whenever he starts to ramble about the features of the game and why he should absolutely play it right now. of course, as his player one, you're automatically going to be the first person he's going to play with. not that you mind, really. playing with idia was always a fun experience; it reminded you a lot of how you would spend your free time back in your world.

(those days of laziness, those days of unproductivity where you did nothing but lay down on your bed and do nothing—no school work to do, no club activities to do, no studying for an upcoming exam—just pure idleness. then when you're bored, you could just use your phone, PC, or iPad to entertain you as the day goes by, playing nonstop until late hours in the evening. god, you miss those days.)

you often wondered what genre of video games this new world had to offer. you knew that it wouldn't be so different from your own world, but you weren't sure just how many of your friends were affiliated with gaming entertainment. out of fear that judgement would be placed upon you if you shared this interest of yours, your love for video games has been hidden—so to find someone else (with that someone else being idia) that likes video games and is very well versed in them is a dream come true. it was a long process to get him to play with you, let alone consider you a friend and not try to avoid you every 2 seconds—still, it was a feat you were proud of because now you get to experience many, many different sides of idia that you would have never known 9 months ago.

(you once heard idia curse like at least twenty times in one breathe when one of his teammates was being shitty and a prick, he sounded so angry and scary that you backed into a corner to avoid getting burnt by his scorching, bright red hair that grew the more angrier he got. the only reason he stopped was when he heard quiet sobs in the corner of his room and turned around away from his computer to see you huddled in the corner of his room. quickly he went over there, completely abandoning his game and comforting you. he hates seeing his cute prefect cry, especially because of him, he's not the great at comforting but when he hugged you so tightly, your quiet sobs turned into silence. right then and there he swore to never be the reason you're crying and when you do, he'll be right there with you.)

you are currently cross-sitting in his very comfy bed, watching as idia set up two controllers and plugged in the PCs to turn them on (you're still surprised he's got more than 2 PCs, which, if you really think about it, his family background makes it make sense). after waiting for the PCs to turn on, he then connects the controllers to the PCs and opens up the game on both screens. you would insist on helping him set up, but due to you literally being isekai'd into this unknown world of twisted wonderland, you aren't too familiar with many things besides the whole magic stuff—plus, you aren't too keen on breaking any of idia's stuff because of your lack of knowledge on how to do technology.

(technology in general is so extremely confusing, you would argue wholeheartedly all day and all night, and idia would agree with you and low-key flex on how knowledgeable he is in the field of technology, just to impress you and show how reliable he is. secretly, he likes it when he's useful to you.)

"sorry! it took a while to set up..." in slightly shaking hands, he hands over the controller to you while holding the other in his free hand. he looked rather nervous when he faced you to give the controller, like he's worried he wasted your time waiting for him. it reminded you of a puppy looking up to its owner apologetically when they did something wrong, so cute, you thought, adorable even, you added.

"haha! it's okay! you didn't take that long anyway." you gave him a reassuring look, a soft smile, and bright eyes, showing him that you weren't bothered by having to wait a bit as he set up for you two to play.

both screens show the in-game loading screen, and the bar quickly fills up due to the fast internet speed (one you're quite envious of). slowly it fades to the starting screen, where a big text is bouncing 'tap to start' in both of your faces. Idia presses to start immediately, wanting to get into gameplay as fast as he can while you take a moment to admire the visual aspects and effects of the game in silent awe. you always had a thing for the visual stuff that was shown in-game. by slowly pressing the button on your control, you enter the game and begin a fantastical journey with idia.

“put that down! you’ll hurt yourself with that!” he says worriedly as he watches you damage your avatar's HP bar this early in gameplay. usually he gets really annoyed when he plays with noobs and normies; they stink at comprehending basic knowledge, do dumb things in-game, ask too many questions, and ruin the whole gameplay experience for him. 'ugh, how annoying.' is his usual reaction to such—of course he wouldn't think of that towards you! never ever would he ever think this way towards you; even if you do things noobs and normies usually do, he can't bring himself to be annoyed—you were too cute in his eyes. he would never admit this to your face, though, and he still gets red just at the thought of him thinking you are cute. It's true though; don't get him wrong, but... the embarrassment that comes with thinking about these thoughts is just too much for his poor little heart! honestly, he's for sure that one day you'll be the death of him, does he care though? not really; in fact, he would probably love that.

(he blushes so hard whenever he thinks of you in his clothes; it's the way your natural scent clings onto his shirts, the way his shirts made you even cuter than you already are—one of the only reasons he doesn't wash his clothes immediately because he wants to savor your smell to memory. he's a creep, yes, but he's one devoted creep.)

"whoops! sorry didn't see that, haha..." nervously laughing at your mistake, you eat whatever consumable you have in your inventory to try and restore as much health as you lost. as your avatar munches on the food in its hand, from the corner of your screen, you can see idia's avatar walking towards you. once it's near enough to your avatar, you can see the animation of a bunch of items being dropped and your inventory picking up due to the proximity between the items and your avatar. you opened your inventory, curious about what he just gave you since it looked like quite a lot of items, and confused about why he was giving you so many items in the first place. your eyes widen in shock as the items he's given you are one stack of steak, every weapon in-game (sword, axe, pickaxe, shovel, hoe), but in steel, and a full set of steel armor.

your mouth continues to gape open as you put on the armor set on your avatar. how did he get so much stuff this fast? it hasn't even been an hour yet! "where.. did you get so much stuff!?" you ask naively, following idia around as you don't want to get lost, die, and lose all your stuff. "stole half of those from villages, some from mining, and a few from trading" he says so casually as he continues to walk in an unknown direction, like this was a regular thing for him, not to mention this was a hard difficulty! he's playing this game like it's not easy mode! "could've gotten more if it weren't for those stingy mobs..." furrowing his eyebrows, he let out a small huff of frustration, pressing slightly harder on the buttons on his controller, not noticing how your mouth dropped down even further at his passing comment. as she presses on, walking in an unknown direction, you're hit with the hundredth reminder that he's on a whole other level than you when it comes to gaming.

three hours in, and you guys decided to play on public servers, where you'll get to play different game modes other than the usual story and survival modes. once the two of you picked a game to play, the room quickly filled with laughter, shouting, incoherent grumbling, screams of terror, and many more in between. you two decided to save a team game as last since idia wasn't enthusiastic about playing together with other players because he just wanted to play with you, and there was an underlying fear that you would encounter toxic teammates. but since you were practically begging him to just try it at least once, he couldn't help but give in to your pleas.

it was fun, he supposed. it wasn't as annoying or infuriating as he thought it would be, but he still had to keep up not making really snarky remarks when certain players were interacting with you. he'd hate to have you see such a mean, ugly, and disgusting side of him. other than that, it was an okay experience. he thinks it would've been better if it was just him and you on a team; wouldn't it be kind of romantic? you and him against everyone else?

then what he feared most would happen actually happened. suddenly some fucking jerk is screaming insults at you for not being good enough, and before that teammate got two more words in, he exploded on them. curses upon curses spit out his mouth in rapid speed, and the voices of that said teammate slowly but surely die down as their ego and pride go down with them. in the midst of anger and chaos between him and the teammate, you could feel tears building up inside you; everything around you started to blur, and the sounds that filled your ears were starting to get tuned out. you couldn't even hear that idia stopped screaming curses, turned off both PCs, and went to take the controller from your hand, lift you up into his lap, and slowly wrap his arms around you.

once he had you fully in his grasp, he tightened his grip, making sure not to let you get away from him. he wasn't good at words, especially when trying to comfort someone, but seeing you cry was making him cry too. he did, after all, swear to always be with you when you cry. raising one of his hands, he placed it at the back of your head and gently pushed towards his neck. then his hand went down to rub your back, up and down, up and down, at a slow pace. letting you cry it all out in peace while also letting you know he's there with you.

a few minutes have passed, and your sobs have gone silent. your eyes have become droopy and sleepy, and it feels almost impossible to keep them open. suddenly, a hand lifts your chin, and you feel a pair of lips come into contact with your forehead. it wasn't like a quick kiss; no, the kiss lasted for at least a few seconds before pulling away. even then, upon pulling away, you feel another kiss on your cheek, this time a little quicker than the forehead kiss. then another kiss on your other cheek, then another on your nose, another on your jawline, another on your earlobes, and finally, his lips hovered over your own lips.

you could feel the hesitation when he let out a nervous breath; the thought of your lips on his always sends him into an electrifying and drunken daze. he can't think straight when he's this close to you, but even then, it gives him an unusual feeling of contentment and confidence. the luck he has to be able to snag such an adorable, cute, amazing, and beautiful person like you in his life. he almost can't believe it. swallowing his own nervousness for your comfort, he presses against your soft lips delicately. soon after making physical contact with your lips, he feels a smile form on your face—a small smile, yet it was enough for him. any smile from you is enough for him, because seeing you happy is the best view he could ever lay his eyes on.

feeling out of breath, he's the first to let go but also the first to frown at the loss of touch. i want to stay like this forever, he thought as he watched you emit a giggle after the kiss. fire burns brightly in his heart, and he starts to wonder if you being the death of him will really come true. his cheeks burn that ever-warm red that he knows you've seen many, many times before, but he can't help it. when you pull him into a world through rose-tinted glasses, no way could he be immune to such an effect.

most people found it weird how much attention you showed jann. after all, he was close enough to a nobody.

man, society is weird.

all these unattainable standards set by messy, emotional, little humans. i mean, if you wanted to see jann, why should anyone try to stop you? you liked who you liked, and it's not like you could help it. besides, jann was sweet, cute, and ambitious. in your opinion, he was the dream guy.

you two would eat lunch together, walk each other to classes you had during the day, average college couple stuff. you never let anyone give him a hard time, and whenever you attended a social event, he was by your side (whether he wanted to be there or not). he attended all of your [sports] games, etc. the coupley stuff wasn't the weirdest part to people. the weirdest part to people was that you chose to do the coupley stuff with him. you had lines of guys and girls waiting, patiently. stalking and clinging, nagging and hanging--yet you chose him.

people talked, of course they did. negative or positive, they talked.

but over time, it got better. the jealousy never really subsided, but when the two of you walked through the halls, not as many people stared. and when you guys attended parties, not as many people ignored jann.

either way, you couldn't care less. you loved jann more than anything. nothing would change that.

you guys were sat a desk in the back of the library. quiet giggles and whispers could be heard. it was supposed to be a tutoring session, but it always turned out a different way. you always found him more interesting than algebra (or...calculus..?) and simply ended up making out. as jann explained the equation, your eyes lingered on him. you took in his facial features, admiring him not-so-subtly. he didn't notice until he looked over, and his eyes widened slightly. he smiled, before clearing his throat.

"so, do you understand? or do you need me to explain it better?" he asked, and you didn't answer. you didn't quite care, frankly. you weren't failing math, you had a 92%, which is borderline, but far from failing. so, it wasn't your biggest priority. in all honesty, you only kept up with these tutoring sessions to see him. you simply held his gaze, a look on your face he couldn't exactly read.

"were you even paying attention?" he asked, quirking a brow.

"no, not really."

"and by that you mean not at all, huh?" he asked, rhetorically. you nodded, with a small shrug. he laughed, before looking down. "so, uhm, what were you thinking about then?"

"three guesses," you said, smiling. you thought he had to have known by now, considering this is what you do every tutoring session.

"wha-Y/N, you know i'm not very good at this," he replied, cocking his head to the side in slight thought.

"oh cmon, it should be easy," you stated, with a playful eye roll. he lifted his hands up in defense.

"i really don't know," he said, and you couldn't help the laugh the emitted from you.

"gosh jann, you're smart, nerdy, but so incredibly dense."

"well then...just tell me. please?" he asked. and really, how could you say no to him? was it possible if you even wanted to? no. would you really ever want to? also no.

"i'm thinking about how cute you are. you and your perfect pink lips, how kissable they look, and your adorable curls--god, i'm thinking about you, jann. when am i ever not?" you say, leaning in closer as you speak your mind. he was slightly taken aback, before he leaned in as well. he didn't know what to say, so he didn't. he had this look in his eyes you knew all too well.

"can i...?" he queried, reluctantly. you grinned.

"you don't have to ask for a kiss, jann."

"right--sorry." you chuckled, before you kissed him. it was sweet, like honey. he was the one to pull away first.

"you know, you always do this," he said, with a head shake, but with an irresistible beam across his face.

"i know, just can't get enough of you," you said, kissing his cheek. you pecked his lips, nose, jaw, neck, everywhere you could. your hand cupped his face, and he seemed to lean into your touch. you went up for another kiss, which was a bit more feverish this time. your bodies felt hot, and you couldn't wait any longer. or...maybe you could, but you definitely didn't want to.

please note I am not a pro gamer or anything. I sucked so bad when I first started this game (I had no idea wtf I was doing). Like seriously. I didn't know what an action was. what a bonus action was. "No movement left". WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO MOVEMENT LEFT. I had played DnD once before.

I literally bought this game because of Astarion.

I usually play one game and that is Overwatch. the only other time I stopped playing OW was to play Resident Evil: Village because of Lady D. vampire marketing works on me. specifically evil vampire. damn u Neil and Maggie.

Like I said in my reply to anon, the best tip is to do tactician FIRST. You’ll get destroyed otherwise. I didn’t finish my tactician run but I did get to act 3 and I did most boss fights (Gortash, Raphael, Cazador). Bosses have legendary actions in tactician and it’s fucking annoying. All the homies hate radiant retort….

Another tip is fucking collect everything. It’s hard to get gold and certain potion ingredients later on. Potion of Speed (you need hyena ears for this) is the BEST. I used them for my Ketheric fight (second phase) and killed him in three turns. I also used them for the final fight and used one or two with Raphael and Orin.

Smokepowder Barrels. I think people call this Barrelmancy? I didn't use them much. I hoarded them for one reason and one reason only.

To blow Raphael.

His soul pillar towers that is. To blow up his pillars. His big long pillars.

Okay I'm done.

(also I did use three in my last fight against the brain - popped them next to it and blew 'em up) Elixir of Bloodlust - sooooo handy with Astarion!

Invisibility Potion is a must - I used this to escape fights when three people were deaded (this happened a few times😅) and get my good friend Withers to bring them back.

bonus tip: don't go into a fight with half your spell slots because you think "she'll be right". she won't be...as seen above

HOLY FUCK WITHERS. You can pickpocket Withers. I used Astarion to get our money back anytime I resurrected, changed class or got a hireling - he doesn’t care if you fail either, just keep trying.

DON'T BE DUMB LIKE MISSY Don't be like me, don't half pay attention in cut scenes and accidentally press the wrong dialogue option. Or else your good friend Lae'zel will turn on you and you will have A Bad Time.

I forgot that Psionic Backlash is like a thing that does damage and that if your entire worm filled party does it and the person you are casting is at like...say 19 health...they will die because that is not Passive Damage.

Always surprise the enemy if you can, it’s a massive advantage!

Get the eye from Volo. This run was not about looking pretty, it was about getting any advantage I could get. Let that man poke out your eyeball. And make sure it’s your Tav, you will mostly likely swap companions and it’s just better if it’s you. It's helpful in a lot of fights but especially Auntie Ethel

Become half illithid. I did this with my Tav, Gale and Minthara. Astarion was a little bitch about it so I didn’t give it to him but I wish I had made him do it.

She looks Not Great but she can fly (sorry Astarion but Z'hera only likes pussy)

Being able to fly is just SO helpful and cull the weak is OP! Also mmmmm worms :)

MY BUILD/PARTY

A Giant Woman (my tiefling) as a Paladin - Oath of Vengeance.

I broke my oath when I ascended Astarion but you can just get it back. Oathbreaker is still good (that’s what I was in my tactician run) but I wanted my channel divinity charges. I started with the Everburn Blade from the cambion Commander Zhalk on the Nautaloid (when you get Shart, give her the Command Spell and use “Drop” so you can just yoink it off him and save a fight). My final weapon was the Nyrulna which you can get in Act 3 at the Circus. To get this you must pickpocket the genie to take his ring and then play his game. He will accuse you of cheating and send you somewher. The prize at the end is this weapon. I love it. I just went invisible and walked through, I didn’t fight the creatures there.

Astarion - the classic gloomstalker/assasin. I had one level assasin and then did 6 levels ranger before going back to assassin. So he was 6 levels in each. With him ascended, he does INSANE damage. I never swap out that vamp, he’s too useful.

Shart/Minthara - I lost Shart in the Shadowfell - wouldn't let her murder Dame Aylin.

a simpler time. before I killed my beloved and my brain was full of worms.

I had to fight her (it was very sad). I changed her class to Life of Domain Cleric. I then made Minthara my cleric when Shart died (same build). She replaced my lover and my cleric <3

TIPS FOR POTIONS

If it’s throwable (like invisibility) group the gang together to throw one on the ground to get you all - saves using multiple.

Potion of Speed has an effect called lethargic that is active for one round after the potion ends. This means you miss a turn. HOWEVER! If you drink another one on the last active round of the potion, your Tav will become lethargic immediately and next round you’ll be fine :) I did this for the Ketheric fight.

It’s also helpful (because of lethargic) to not have all characters take the potion in the same round (if you give it to everyone). I never did, I usually gave them to Gale and my Tav.

I hoarded so many scrolls. I had so many dimension door scrolls at the end.

I did get the Necromancy of Thay and did all the things. And then I never used it :)

BIGGEST TIP ONCE YOU'VE UNLOCKING LEVEL 6 SPELL SLOT WITH CLERIC (ALSO AVAILABLE WITH DRUID)

I saw this on reddit! Pretty much what I did was get a hireling - Cleric - and have that Cleric cast Heroes' Feast on my party.

The affected entity is immune to Diseases, Poisons, and being Frightened, it makes all Wisdom Saving throws with Advantage, and its maximum Hit Points are increased by 12

Lasts until long rest!! I also then cast Freedom of Movement on everyone in the party. I then cast Warding Bond on someone - usually Gale because he's a squishy boy :) If I knew it was a BIG FIGHT! I got another Cleric to cast Warding Bond on another party member.

you can see Heroes' Feast (the condition is called Thoroughly Stuffed) and Freedom of Movement. These all last until long rest!

Pretty much any other companions were respeced as Cleric (though I made Jaheira a Wizard same as Gale so I could use her). I did this so that I could use Divine Intervention multiple times within the game!

I used Opulent Revival and nothing else

In celebration of me officially reaching 100 HOURS of fucking around in Hades 2, here's a couple of general gameplay tips from yours truly!

Preface

I am not the best Hades gamer out there, but I'd like to think I'm doing pretty good considering my still-standing 25+ win streak in the Underworld and 16 Fear clear on all weapon types, so this tip is meant for you guys who find Hades 2 weirdly difficult compared to the first game (I've been there!), or those who still haven't figured out good build and aspect combos. However, I will not be doing a deep dive of all the bosses except for the final bosses!

Obviously, spoilers abound under the cut, so tread with caution!!

Part 1: General Questions, Comments, Complaints, etc.

Q: Playing Melinoë is so difficult compared to Zagreus!

A: First of all, you are playing Melinoë, not Zagreus. Second of all, you are playing Lv. 1 Mel after being so used to Lv. 100 Zag (if you've spent an unreasonable amount of time playing Hades 1 like I did). These two have different playstyles! I myself am guilty of this mindset in my first 20 hours of gameplay.

Mel is all about using everything in your disposal to dispatch enemies. Additionally, the devs have designed the kit in such a way that none of your moves are an afterthought that you occasionally use every other room. The biggest example of this is Cast, which remains useful as a crowd control (CC) move even without a Boon attached to it. Use your Cast all the time!

Additionally, in case you haven't realized it, you can still move while charging your Omega Cast; however, the AoE will not follow you unless you have Local Climate (Demeter).

Don't forget that you can hold down Dash to Sprint. Lock enemies in place with Cast then sprint away if you need breathing room. However, do remember that you do not have i-frames while sprinting, only when dashing.

I have to concede that as of the current EA patch, dashing to dodge attacks still feels janky without the Swift Runner card, mostly because of the dash start-up animation being slightly but noticeably slower than Zag's dashes. However, after several runs with the Judgment card (where I can't activate Swift Runner, and that it might not activate further in the run), the rhythm of dashing with and without it is just muscle memory now. Keep practicing!

Q: Melinoë feels so squishy/slow/weak/etc.!

A: Hades 2 does feel much more Early Game Hellish™ than Hades 1, which imo is mostly because of the Arcana system's complexities.

You need various resources to unlock an Arcana, then you need sufficient Grasp to actually use the Arcana, THEN some Arcana have prerequisites for activation so you can't just use anything and everything you want. Very unlike H1, where you can just dump exactly one resource type into levelling the Mirror upgrades and the only true constraint is choosing one side of the Mirror over the other.

To mitigate the squishiness, Frinos with a fully upgraded Life Bond gives you a free 40 base HP. I prefer him over Toula because I fucking suck at bullet hells and Frinos eats up all those projectiles without flinching too much, and some enemies are really fucking annoying with their projectile attacks. Looking at you, hourglass thingies in Tartarus.

Another thing to note is that The Wayward Son card is a buffed version of Zag's health regen on room exit. At max level it heals 4 HP (8 if you're low), which also makes Chaos gate health drains trivial in Erebus and Oceanus, so go grab those Chaos boons.

If you think surviving against Chronos/Eris is difficult, try having at least 200-220 HP (adjust depending on Fear settings) before entering the fight. The Centaur and Titan cards are useful to achieve this. If you run a Hephaestus build, the Boon that adds HP based on Magick is also great!

Q: The Bosses in Hades 2 are more difficult... please help!

A: I see this observation often, but in my experience, the H2 bosses bar Chronos and Eris are actually significantly easier than the H1 bosses. Your experience gap between dealing with H1 and H2 bosses could also contribute. But anyways, here's some tips for each boss:

Hecate

The transformation Hex counts as a projectile and can be blocked by Frinos. If you haven't unlocked Frinos, simply dash back and forth into the hex (essentially abusing your dash i-frame) and it will eventually dissipate. Don't try to outrun it.

(Frinos ate the hex before I could fully demonstrate the dodging lol)

If you DO get transformed, dash and attack repeatedly to prevent Hecate's attacks from hitting you, because your attack in sheep form is a charge forward that helps add extra distance while waiting for the dash cooldown to end.

Scylla and the Sirens

They killed me an unreasonable amount of times early game because there's so damn much going on the screen, so my tip for that is kill the drummer first. The guitarist's arsenal is much less dangerous and her dash attack is heavily telegraphed. Even if the guitarist is the featured artist, I would still kill the drummer first. Additionally, the Night Bloom Hex* works in this fight. Have fun!

Infernal Beast

Mostly immobile boss that can't really turn around with heavily telegraphed attacks, so the easiest trick is to just stand behind it for free backstab damage and don't get hit. Paired with the massive hitbox, the boss becomes very vulnerable against Apollo/Zeus cast and Omega specials with Pan aspect on the Sister Blades.

Polyphemus

Sometimes he has sheep in the fight; if he eats them he gets healed. Gold sheep will block Omega moves in the radius indicated around them, while black sheep will charge at you. I find his most difficult attack is the boulder slam if he spots you. When he leaps, sprint away first for some distance, then dash into the shockwaves because they move FAST and staying near will guarantee you get hit.

Eris

All of her attacks count as projectiles, so Hestia's Soot Sprint turns the fight into a total joke. She also turns relatively slowly when firing; when she does the spread shots, stay directly behind her. The forward charge is also telegraphed by an animation where she rises a bit before charging, so dash towards Eris to avoid getting hit (because it also stuns you).

Chronos, in general

God I hate that bitch ass scythe throw attack SO MUCH. I find the most reliable way to dodge it is to dodge towards Chronos but in a counterclockwise direction because it always travels clockwise. DO NOT DODGE AWAY FROM HIM.

The thrown scythe counts as a projectile, so projectile slowing effects like Demeter's Cyclone debuff or Hard Target (Hermes) affect its move speed.

Additionally, Chronos himself is immune to any time-slowing effect, including from the Sorceress card, the Phase Shift Hex, and Hermes' legendary Boon. He can still damage you during the time stop in the Hex casting animation.

Lastly, the ring explosions that come after his slashing attacks are unblockable by any "Block" move e.g. Axe special.

Chronos, 2nd phase

He always begins the phase with a full screen attack that does 999 damage unless you stand in the highlighted safe spots... or if you have Coarse Grit (Demeter Infusion) that lets you take no more than 15 damage per hit (lol). The clock hands will also kill you this way, so stand well clear of its radius. When he does this attack he will stand in place, which if you're lucky lets you get a guaranteed Omega Cast or Total Eclipse strike, and even one or two fully charged Pan aspect specials if the "safe spot" is near him.

(* Night Bloom has an unintended interaction with the Judgment arcana that causes its effects to be triggered multiple times in the Scylla fight. I've reported this as a bug, but I guess you could abuse it until the next patch lol)

Q: What is your Arcana setup?

A: This! I find this to be the easiest setup for activating the Divinity card and also the "safest" build, with the drawback of being unable to change room rewards/Boon and Well of Charon offerings.

If I wanted more challenge, I would activate everything in the third row, and use the remaining 3 Grasp for either The Huntress or Death, depending on weapon:

When I do a Judgment arcana run, I only activate The Wayward Son, Eternity, and Excellence; the bonus with Judgment is that it also automatically activates The Queen, and keeps it active no matter how many more cards it activates later.

If you have yet to max out your Grasp and want to play it safe, the cards I recommend to prioritize are Eternity > Excellence > Origination > The Swift Runner/The Sorceress > The Titan > The Furies/The Moon/The Huntress/ > Night/The Unseen.

Extra tip: The Moon synergizes very well with pure damage Omega Casts e.g. Apollo, Zeus, Poseidon because it adds to the base damage. Naturally, this makes Apollo cast busted as hell.

Q: What are your recommended Keepsakes? How do I use them?

A: The ones from Hecate, Odysseus, Nemesis, Moros, and Narcissus. If you're good at not getting hit, Arachne's because it continuously stacks Armor per location as long as you stay above 1 Armor. Recently I've also been messing around with Chaos', which has been fun.

To elaborate:

Silver Wheel (Hecate) lets you regen Magick automatically, which was great for me in very early game until I got the hang of every Gain boon and evaluated which are the best ones. Essentially, it's a good crutch for learning how the game works. However, do note that the Keepsake regen is prioritized over any other Magick regeneration effects.

Knuckle Bones (Odysseus) is also a similarly useful early game crutch if you have difficulty against bosses or need to take a run to analyze their moves (very appropriate). It also gives you all-damage reduction against bosses. And fun fact: bring it to the Polyphemus fight multiple times for some unique interactions!

Evil Eye (Nemesis) is just a straightforward free ~30% universal damage bonus against the last enemy that killed you. Since mine was Chronos... well, let's just say I almost never spend a single DD in his fights ever since.

Engraved Pin (Moros) is functionally a better Stubborn Defiance. Triggering its effect will be prioritized over consuming a Death Defiance, and it works ONCE PER ROOM which is fucking amazing as a learning crutch and in high Fear runs. One of my favorite strategies if 1) my HP falls below the Pin's healing threshold, 2) its effect has not been triggered yet, and 3) I am 100% sure the encounter is about to end, I just die on purpose, kill everything that's left, and get a free heal.

Aromatic Phial (Narcissus) rarifies a random Common boon when you drink from a Fountain, which helps massively in no-Arcana runs or runs without Excellence/Divinity. It could also help if you grabbed Hera's Uncommon Grace but are unable to activate it because you have a Common boon. Lastly, the extra Fountain heal helps with survivability.

On the topic of Keepsakes, I encourage you to use the Olympian Keepsakes, because they now have the ability to increase the rarity of non-Infusion/Duo/Legendary Boons up to a certain rarity threshold and not just help you aim where your current build is going.

Rarification works especially well with Demeter's Rare Crop; one time Heroic Rare Crop managed to rarify my Attack, Special, and Cast somehow and I ended up blazing through Tartarus and Chronos like it was nothing.

You let out a low whistle, Jake grinning wolfishly at your reaction. For a university, DCLS definitely invested a lot into their dressing rooms. Five vanities set with their own lights and chairs, which had to be comfortable considering Jay was already napping in one of them. If anything, the professional atmosphere of the room was kind of daunting and you shifted your bag on your shoulder awkwardly. I really hope I don’t fuck anything up today.

Looking over your shoulder to check that the makeup artists were already unpacking their equipment, you gently set down your own bag on the floor of the farthest station. You glance over to the couch to see Sunghoon smiling at you cheekily. 

“Hey Mo-” 

“Please do not finish that sentence,” you groan, taking a seat next to him. Sunghoon nods, giving you a mock salute. Satisfied by his obedience, you continue to take in your surroundings, mentally noting the absence of Niki, Jungwon and Heeseung. 

“Jungwon’s grabbing some drinks and food with the other boys,” a knowing voice cuts through your thoughts. Startled, you look over to meet Jay’s discerning eyes. “Oh-  I wasn’t -”

He simply cuts you off with a scoff, “Yeah right, you look like a lost puppy. He’ll be here soon.” 

Rolling your eyes, you kick at his shin playfully, “I was actually looking for Heeseung and Niki, thank you very much. You wound me Jay, I can’t believe you would think so lowly of me, maybe you’re just projecting honestly” 

“Yeah, sure I am” He waves you off, “Wanna see the stage outfits Y/N?” Jay offers a hand which you gratefully take, letting him tug you to your feet. You follow him to the back where the numerous clothing racks stand, boasting a variety of outfits. 

“Damn, these are nice. You guys even have outfit changes? Who’s the stylist? They have good taste.” You finger the fabric of the clothes carefully, noting the brands and styles.

“Styled by me actually, pretty sick huh?” Jay says smugly with his arms crossed over his puffed chest. You giggle, nodding in agreement, you were no stranger to professionals in the fashion industry and Jay’s selection definitely did not fall short.

“I see how you blew the budget though, full Chrome Hearts? Damn, we definitely have to go shopping together Jay, my treat.” you say distractedly as you admire the silver attachments on the blazer. 

“Where are we going?” a voice asks softly into your ear, Jungwon’s familiar scent flooding your nose as his arm snakes around your waist. You ignore the way your skin prickles at the feeling, turning around to face him with a raised brow. 

“What do you mean we? Jay and I are going to go shopping. Isn’t that right Jay?” you ask pointedly. You falter slightly at the smirk on Jungwon’s face, trying to step back to regain some much needed space and air. 

Jungwon only chuckles, tightening his hold on your torso. “Jay’s actually busy. Isn’t that right hyung?” You shoot Jay a desperate look over your shoulder but he only raises his hands in surrender, sauntering away from the pair of you. 

“Pussy” you scowl bitterly as you watch Jay retreat safely to Jake’s side. You shift your gaze accusingly to Jungwon, ”You suck, I wanted him to pick out my clothes for me. He has a really good style.” 

“Take me,” Jungwon smiles brightly, “I know best what looks good on you anyways.” 

“Not like I have much of a choice now. I hate you Yang Jungwon,” you puff out your cheeks in annoyance, eliciting a laugh from your captor. 

He squishes your face together in his hands, forcibly deflating your cheeks, “ Yeah right, you loveeee me. Come on Y/N, I got you your favorite drink, you’re not allowed to be mad at me sweetheart” 

Finally breaking free of his hold, you huff, walking towards the other boys. “I should’ve never introduced you to Hyuck, you get more and more insufferable everyday.” You give both Niki and Heeseung swift side hugs in greeting before you somehow end up back in Jungwon’s grasp. 

Polite introductions are made between the boys and the four makeup artists, and the boys play rock paper scissors to choose who’ll go first. Jungwon isn’t the slightest bit upset when he falls into the second slot, instead opting to tug you towards the empty vanity in the corner. 

He takes a seat, swiveling the chair towards you, beaming up at you expectantly. You stare at him blankly and he sighs, motioning at your bag on the floor. “I saw you brought your stuff, come on you can do my makeup.”

“Oh fuck no Jungwon, I just brought that in case something went wrong or we were running late. We are in neither of those predicaments thank god so just leave it to the professionals. I don’t wanna mess up your makeup on an important day,” you shake your head vehemently. 

Jungwon slumps, looking up at you in exasperation, “Oh come on Y/N, I know you’ll do amazing. Plus I feel uncomfortable with strangers touching my face, I want you to do it. Please?”

Unconvinced, you grimace and try to refuse but are quickly silenced by Jungwon reaching out to grasp your hand. He gives your arm a playful shake until you’re forced to look into his eyes with a sigh.

I'm not gonna cave this time. Fuck you and your big sparkly eyes Yang Jungwon. You chant to yourself internally. 

“Y/N please? For me?” He says softly and you can almost audibly hear the sound of your willpower disintegrating into dust. 

Letting out a groan, you run your hands through your hair in frustration. “Alright fine, but if I fuck up I don't want to hear any complaints.” 

Jungwon smiles triumphantly, leaning back into his chair comfortably as you begin rummaging through your bag, unpacking all your equipment. Pulling your phone out of your back pocket, you scroll through your Spotify queuing up some songs. You slot an AirPod in your ear, wordlessly handing the other to Jungwon.

You begin working, humming along to your music under your breath. Jungwon melts under your touch, the soothing brush of your fingers and the gentle press of the sponge against his skin. 

“Can you look up for me?” you ask and Jungwon tilts his head back. “No, not like that, keep your head still just look up.” you snicker. Jungwon knits his brows in confusion, ultimately tilting his head up again. 

Exasperated, you grasp onto the nape of his neck, guiding his head to the proper position and holding it there. “Now, look up at the ceiling, I need to set your under eyes before they crease,” you instruct impatiently. 

Jungwon’s eyes follow as instructed to the ceiling before flickering down to settle on you. Suddenly you’re all too aware of the weight of his gaze on your face and the placement of your hand against the back of his neck. You retract your hand quickly as if the skin contact had scalded you. 

“Sorry, didn’t mean to man handle you.” You clear your throat awkwardly, turning away to grab the powder. Discreetly, Jungwon watches your reflection in the mirror, a small smile growing on his lips as he notes the slight flush that warms your cheeks. He bites it back as you turn around, quickly fixing his eyes back up on the ceiling. 

You pat in the powder, leaning back to examine his completed base, giving a satisfied hum. 

“Look good?” Jungwon asks quietly. 

“As good as you can,” you tease, to which Jungwon pinches your waist swiftly in response.

Jungwon grants you free reign with his eye makeup and you run with it. Gently diffusing soft browns into his crease and emphasizing the curve of his eyes with a thin liner. 

“Look at me?” you command and Jungwon obliges, his pupils dilating when he opens his eyes to find your face inches from his. You look at him intently, unaware of the way Jungwon wets his lips and his heart hammers against the confines of his chest. She does this on purpose I swear to god. 

Seemingly pleased by your handiwork, you brush some stray hairs out of Jungwon’s face and step back with a wide grin. “You look pretty” you say easily, invoking a choked laugh out of Jungwon’s tightened chest. “All done! Just need some tinted chapstick, but I’ll let you do that part yourself.” 

Jungwon nods, spreading the balm across his lips and turning back towards you for a final once over. He startles when you reach out to cup his chin, thumb finding the corner of his lip and sweeping against it carefully. 

“You smudged a little on the corner,” you clarify, stifling a smirk at Jungwon’s wide-eyed countenance. He rolls his eyes, shoving you away lightly before standing up and admiring his reflection. 

“See? I knew you would do good,” he pinches your cheek affectionately , dodging the swat you aim his way. His group members echo his sentiments, patting you on the back and ruffling your hair humorously. 

As the performance time nears, Jungwon finds himself stretched in all directions, talking to the director, audio team and running around to make sure all his members are taken care of. Everytime he looks for a second to breathe with you, he’s pulled away again leaving you nothing but an apologetic look. You give him an understanding shake of your head and a wave away his pout, busying yourself with Sunoo and helping the staff. 

It isn’t until the final calls are made and the boys are filing out of the room that Jungwon’s at his wits end. After affirming with darting glances that everyone was too occupied to notice your absence, he pulls you into a nook behind the changing partitions. 

Shaking off your shock at the ambush, you tilt your head up at him with an amused smile, “Hey Jungwon, fancy meeting you here.”

Jungwon doesn’t respond, wordlessly pulling you into a tight embrace. You falter for a second at the shaky breath that escapes him before wrapping your arms around him, rubbing his back soothingly. 

Jungwon finally pulls away letting out a deep exhale, “Sorry, I was just kind of going insane and I needed a moment. I’m good now.” 

You take his hand, giving it a firm squeeze, “You got this Wonnie, you’ve worked your ass off for weeks. You’re gonna do amazing, I’ll be watching from the crowd okay?” Jungwon stares back at you with an unreadable expression on his face , leaning in until you feel the ghost of his breath against your lips. 

“Jungwon! Where are you bro we gotta go!” Jake calls out, breaking both of you from your reverie. 

Jungwon steps back from where he had been caging you into the wall, giving you a sheepish smile. “See you after the performance?” 

You smile back fondly, “Yeah, I’ll see you Jungwon. Good luck.” He gives you one last dimpled smile, before turning and scampering towards the direction of Jake’s voice.

another of my much weaker 32s. please disregard the greats i shifted to resting my ipad on a blanket bc sitting cross legged was hurting my legs rly bad and i think its fucking up my mental offset. anyway the chart is a blast altho it can be a liiiiiittle irritating at certain parts. still the flicks are so fun esp the ones in the middle with the squiggle holds, and while the runs can be a bit annoying they’re also very rewarding to get right. 7/10 fun but a touch enraging

I'm back with part 5! So, I was trying really hard to close this on part 5 and keep to my plan. However, no matter what I did I just couldn't get it to tie up nicely and that just led to a plethora of other ideas coming in. So...I don't have a clue how long this is going to be anymore. (^_^;)

Of fucking course, Jason stared at the building in front of him. He had followed Dick's advice and managed to find her IP address. From there it was a simple tracing, converting to GPS coordinates, and following directions. There was no way this plan would fail. And yet, here I am…again, at the intersection of "what the hell" and "you've got to be kidding me". He squeezed his eyes shut. Maybe if he closed them hard and long enough, his surroundings would change, and magically he would not be standing here. Where was here exactly? Here was a small, dated strip mall that had brown brick with chipped and weathered awnings and pillars. Here was a bowling alley that looked like it was closed down and an old dry cleaner's. Here was a vacant parking lot aside from his motorcycle and a few cars. His golden ticket, the IP address, led him to a shabby looking gamer's lounge in the middle of what looked to be a dying strip mall, if not dead already.

How, how is it so hard to find this chick?! I just want to pay her for the bill! Why is it so fucking hard to do something nice ?! He glared up at the poorly working lit up sign, hearing the buzz of a dying bulb. All sense of accomplishment crashed and burned to the ground the moment he parked. Ruffling his hair, he ducked his head and let out a heavy sigh. His frustration was at an all-time high in ways he never thought possible for him. Normally, he would be able to quickly release this pent-up feeling through the cathartic action of smashing some goons face in or squeezing the information out of someone who was scared out of his mind and in over his head. Normally, Jason did not have to deal with this heavy feeling for too long. However, it was noon, and he was out in Gotham not as Red Hood but as Jason Todd.

What was the point in all this? It was increasingly clear that the universe was doing its very best to keep him from finding her and paying his dues. They met, they happened to be online gaming buddies, and that was all there was to it. He should throw in the towel and move on. Why should he care so much about this? She was not searching for him. He was the one going out of his way to find her. Yeah, I shouldn't care. This is bullshit. I didn't ask to be taken to some hotel. He was aware he insisted she let him walk her back home that night. Plus, she clearly doesn't give a crap. He glared at his leather jacket that she had taken the time to hook onto the chair that night. He also recalled how she tried to get him to stop screaming with his hangover. "She cares about the wrong things, there's something screwy in her brain." 

It was moments like these that made him want to quit. Throw his hands up in the air like he just did not care in his usual cavalier fashion. Who was she to him to warrant such dedication to repayment? What leverage did she have over him? Nothing and none. She was some stranger he tried to help, and he had done just that. A very attractive stranger who was pretty mouthy and fresh with him, who happened to be his online gaming buddy. Who, he was not keen being left to foot a hefty bill because he wanted coffee in the morning. 

"Dammit, just you wait, I'll find you and give you that money IAmBatman!" He shouted into the parking lot, his chest puffed with renewed motivation. I've officially gone insane, I'm shouting Batman in broad daylight in an empty parking lot. Pushing his momentary lose of reason aside, Jason surveyed the surroundimg area once more. There was a newer and larger shopping center next door with a filled lot, a few nice restaurants in the area, and the famous coffee chain Barbara and Richard like so much and Damien kept insisting he deserved espresso from. 

She complains about customers, so she's definitely in the service industry. This place looks like it's upscaling quite a bit, it isn't hard to see the type of clientele she talks about being here. But where? She works multiple shifts and possibly multiple jobs. The building has CCTV cameras, but who knows what the quality is like. " Fuck, if I knew this was a gaming lounge I would've stopped by in the evening!" He kicked an unsuspecting rock and sent it flying into the parking lot, he was back at square one.

Y/N loudly sneezed for the third time in a row, and Citlalli quickly handed her a tissue. "Damn, are you sure you aren't getting sick? I told you before, I'll say it again, my ass ain't cheap. If you're expecting me to go swinging on a pole, estás loca! Do you think I'll just settle for anyone. The president himself couldn't afford me!" She pointed her nose up to the sky and flipped her hair over her hair shoulder.

"I'm not sick, it's just a sneeze!" Y/N rolled her eyes and wiped her mouth. "There's probably a lot of dust or some shit."

"You said that last time as well. You know, maybe your fancy date is thinking about you? Don't they say one is saying something good about you, two is someone is taking shit, three of someone in love with you, and four is a calamity?" 

"Yeah, where were those four sneezes when I met wonder boy? 4k sounds like a pretty big calamity to me." Y/N scowled.

"Don't look at me, you're the one who didn't sneeze!" Citlalli put her hands in the air. "Take it up with your nose!" She turned and started to clean the espresso machine, wiping down everything.

"Right, because the sneeze manager decided to snooze on me. I'll be sure to file my complaints through the proper channels." 

"Don't you get smart with me! If you aren't sick, get to wiping the tables, it's your turn this time!"

"Y'know, now that you mention it," Y/N cleared out her throat and forced a slight rasp on her voice, earning a glare from Citlalli who threw the damp table rag at her.

"Tables. Now." Citlalli pointed to the front of the café. "Don't make me come over there," She warned, and Y/N laughed.

"Or what, you'll throw your shoe at me? You can't, you're wearing laced up sneakers today!" Y/N pointed down in triumph, which only angered her best friend.

"You think I won't untie, then to throw 'em?"

"You'll get fired if you do." Citlalli took a step forward, and Y/N quickly ducked under the counter gate and popped up on the other side. "Alright, alright, I'm going! No need to be so violent, just stating facts. Pass me the spray, and I’ll get out of your hair.”

 “Those tables better be spotless, ya hear me? I wanna be able to see my reflection on those tables!”’ Citlalli firmly placed the plastic bottle on the counter top, making sure she made eye contact with her friend. “If they don’t shine, I’m making you do it all over again!”

“Excuse you, what did I ever do to you get the rough treatment?”

“Come home with a bill that’s worth more than two of us combined! I told you, I’m no-”

“Yeah, yeah, you’re not doing tricks! Keep that up, and I might start to think you actually want to from how often you’re bringing it up!” Y/N turned and made her way to the first table. She could feel Citlalli glaring a hole in the back of her head. With a bit of elbow grease, she began to scrub the surface in circles to clear away the residue of the last customer. It was slow progress, but she was making progress towards her paying off the large bill that weighed over head. It’s a miracle the manager agreed to my payment plan option instead of demanding it all in one go. I guess they realized I’m not lying about not knowing, and I’m willing to cover the costs…though they didn’t give me a choice on that matter. I swear, if I ever see that jerk again, it’ll be too soon! Her eyebrows scrunched together as she scrubbed harder at a hard ring stain, imagining it was the handsome price tag who got her in this mess. “Life couldn’t get any better,” she muttered to herself as she sprayed the somewhat sticky surface. 

The electronic chime of the front door being opened rang behind her followed by Cici’s chipper voice greeting the new customer. The heavy steps of the boots stopped and Y/N knew they were at the counter looking over the menu. The lengthy pause was clue enough for her to know they were new.

Not many newcomers here, but there are the occasional pop ins that are driving through. They’ll probably ask for Cici to help suggest something. She shrugged it off and moved to the next table, the chairs left scattered out. “Would it kill people to push in their chairs?” She muttered under her breath, slipping between two to get to the table first.

“Damn, I don’t know what half this shit is. Just a large coffee with some cream and sugar and whatever this is.” He had a deep voice that had a hint of rasp to it. The girls nearby were giggling at the sight of the rugged man, while Y/N was frozen in place. There was no way, right? There were plenty of guys with that kind of voice, and those girls could be giggling for other reasons. Maybe he’s dressed in a hot dog suit and had a bad cold? There’s no way he would be here, right?

There’s only one way to find out. Gritting her teeth, she forced herself to continue wiping the table, slowly moving around while keeping her head down. Tugging the bill of her hat to cover her face more, she moved until she had a good view of him. Ok, ok, just a tall guy with broad shoulders wearing leather. That isn’t anything special. I’m overeating, she let out a sigh of relief and was about to get back to her cleaning when something caught her eyes. Something so very distinct that only he would have. The flash of white hair right at the front of his head. It was him.

Some stuff about me:

So, my name is Dolly (you knew that), and I’m a panromantic asexual person. My gender is… weird (😂), because really I think gender is an odd social construct and I don’t really care what people refer to me as. I’m also autistic, and some of my special interests include musical theatre, books, true crime, superheroes, and mythology of all different kinds and cultures. I don’t get the opportunity to talk about my special interests a lot, but once I do, you’ll have a hard time getting me to stop talking.

As for hobbies, I spend most of my time either reading or writing fanfiction (and sometimes original short stories), listening to music, and watching movies or TV shows. I mostly like all kinds of music, but I’m not really the biggest fan of rap. I’m also really into true crime podcasts, and I have a love for older TV shows, such as M*A*S*H and The A-Team, as well as all the Marvel and DC movies and TV shows. I’m also a pretty decent singer, at least depending on who you ask. I really love books, and my ultimate career goal is to be a librarian (although if you asked me my absolute dream job, the answer would be a voice actor). I’m also a half-decent singer, at least depending on who you ask.

Personality-wise, I kind of cycle between being bubbly and cheerful and quieter and shyer (a textbook ambivert, me), but no matter what, I always do my best to be a good listener and to make my friends (which includes you!!) happy, because I am very loyal and I love them a lot.

Patch 6.4 MSQ Reaction

Here are my first thoughts, opinions, and overall reactions to the 6.4 MSQ. Since I had a lot to say about Pandaemonium Anabaseios, those reactions were written in a separate post, HERE. Note that these are my personal thoughts, and not meant to be a critique on the MSQ story in any objective manner.

I’m in love with the opening scenes of the patch! The bonding with Zero over eating the spiciest ass curry imaginable was fantastic, and it spoke to me so personally, as my favorite food is Indian curry, and it’s something my mom and I have always loved eating together. So that’s probably way different from most people’s experience, but I took a ton of screenshots of this scene because it felt so personal for me.

Then we got the Estinien fan service scene and ohhhhhh boy, I was DYING laughing and giggling at it!! This is because I’m not an Estinien shipper myself, but I have some friends who are, and I knew that they would die of thirst. Then I got to thinking: WHY can’t we get a scene like THAT with Aymeric?? Throw us Aymeric shippers a bone, I beg of you Yoshi-P!!

Maybe the best part of that scene was Zero’s reaction… Ma’am please!! You are killing me over here!!

Then we got to go back to Labyrinthos briefly and I am just personally so excited for Hali to be coming home to Labyrinthos and Sharlayan soon, but alas, I had to play the patch on Yume, so it didn’t have the same feeling as it would be if it was Hali being there. Nonetheless the brief Sharlayan scenes were really good.

Fourchenault’s backside comments are going to spark a thousand smut fics, I just know it…

I’m so happy that Krile seems to be more in the spotlight going forward, as I love her and I’ve always felt that they’ve done her dirty by always having her stay behind. I’m glad that it looks like she’s going to get more love soon!

Also glad that Erenville made a cameo, as I find him to be a very cool character and like an Everyman. He gives a good perspective that kinda gets lost sometimes when the Scions are always talking with the leaders of nations and such.

The Aetherfont is very likely my new all time favorite dungeon in game. It’s absolutely gorgeous, the music was great as usual, and the fights were really fun! Once Hali gets there, I’m going to take a ton of gposes there!

The Thancred cameo was really nice, but my only beef is that he leaves immediately afterwards. WHY?!?! I’m so annoyed at that.

Probably my favorite part of the patch, storywise anyway, was the Garlemald section. I’m SO glad they are finally addressing how Garlemald and the Garlean people are going to rebuild and their future going forward. It was a nice touch, and I appreciate how Vrtra was able to come up with a great compromise and to let the Garleans have some dignity. Very good stuff in my opinion.

Then the Thirteenth Moon section was pretty much how I expected it would be. Meet the lopporrits and have a cute scene again, open portal, find Azdaja, fight Golbez, yadda yadda yadda.

I will say though, I loved the Golbez trial! The mechanics were challenging yet fun, and I actually enjoyed it very much. The gamer in me was pleased, regardless of the writer in me being just meh about it all.

What I wasn’t expecting, however, was that this Void story arc would still continue into 6.5. To be perfectly honest, this has been my least favorite part of the entire MSQ, in the whole game. Yes, it has trumped everything else as the stuff I least care about. Outside of Zero being an awesome character and wanting Azdaja freed and brought home, I really could care less about everything else. It still feels like an anime filler arc, and though it has gotten a bit better, I’m still not sold. I just want to get to 7.0 like immediately. And if it has anything else to do with the Thirteenth, I might scream. I’m so sorry if anyone is liking this arc, but I just can’t get into it myself.

With all of that being said, I very much loved Pandaemonium way more, and that’s where my mind has been since I finished it yesterday. Therefore, that’s all I’ll say about the MSQ, and I have probably much more to say about Pandaemonium in my next post. If you prefer Jaehee's coffee brewing skills over his, expect him to be pestering her to teach him in exact details in the RFA groupchat (much to Jaehee's eternal annoyance).

No bugs allowed in the penthouse!! If you care about the bugs being kept alive, he will ensure that each bug that does wander inside the building is escorted safely outside the entire perimeter before being set free. Luckily for you, there are two cats on the hunt for any stray bugs, so you likely won't have any trouble with them either way! And speaking of the cats - Elizabeth the 3rd will have a matching collar with yours. Jumin makes sure they're introduced properly so they get along with one another! And they will both be spoiled rotten - don't be surprised if Jumin manages to charm your little baby quickly.

Jumin will be the voice of reason when you've looked out for others to your own detriment, or when you're being overly stubborn. This may lead to a few fights - but as logical as Jumin can be, he's most spineless when it comes to you, so you'll typically get your way, or at least a compromise that's to your liking.

You may worry about your height sometimes, but whenever you put those thoughts to voice, Jumin will remind you that you're the perfect height for him to rest his cheek against your head. (Because this man is taller than everyone.) If you enjoy wearing high heels or platforms, he will adore looking straight-on into your eyes.

I was looking at the background art for volume 11 again bc like. The room is the eyes to the soul and all that. Haha definitely not back on my hyperfixed game.

Anyway, I'm overanalyzing mallek's background art benath the cut.

GOD I always forget how much of a slob he is. Mallek self shippers are so strong. From left to right:

The SEVERAL husk towers, now being either discarded or repurposed. So Mallek does buy / reroute new tech pretty frequently. Note how his couch is falling apart: he does not care for the finer things regarding comfort, only his hobby.

His limo! It's important to note that this limo background gets reused in Marvus's route, but Mallek's came first.

Note the camera above the TV and gamer controller (which is so hilarious: a joystick and one button. It's 100% a minecraft controller then). Could this imply that Mallek is a streamer?? He's always come across as rather private to me (side note: steaming in his coparatively tidy limo really hits my funny bone). Comprimise: Mallek is a streamer with one of those AI sprites instead of his face, ykwim?? Idk what they're called.

Mallek either canonically drinks alcohol, or the drinks just come with the limo.

He's drinking that same juice that Xefros does. For the life of me, I can't remember what it is/does, but iirc isn't it supposed to be good for psychic ability? Mallek is implied not to be psychic, however. Maybe it's just troll monster. Idr....

LMFAO i noted this when I deep dived into Marvus's limo, but I love the chair by the mini fridge having TWO seatbelts and what appears to be a booster seat?? Manlet Marvus move over, it's Manlet Malleks turn lmao.

I noted this detail a few years ago, but it's my favorite: Mallek keeps houseplants (possibly implied to be recently watered?).

Mallek keeps fruit in his hive, but it looks like he doesn't actually eat it. I wonder if it's wax fruit.

I'm sorry but looking at this image, I can not imagine Mallek actually cooks. He eats cereal and gets delivery and he's gotten grub sauce EVERYWHERE. There is no stove in his kitchen. Hell, no microwave either.
