currently 500 pages into rhythm of war, am enjoying the things im enjoying very deeply (mostly shallan and adolin. and veil and radiant and shallan’s dynamics. and kal but thats easy because he’s my favourite character and besides isn’t even hitting that hard in this one its just that everything he does is everything to me) but so much of it also is just such a slog and idk if it’s me because i usually set aside a day to read like 80% of the book in one go or if it’s the fact that a friend has now also read stormlight and shared some opinions w me that i dont disagree with or if its the book itself but like. navani is such a boring POV character and adolin’s reduction down to his fashion sensibilities is a snore and the bridgemen are practically absent so kal doesn’t even have anyone to endear him even more to me and even venli’s just too like. cautious to have anything going for her. like fr the only person i don’t have any sort of a complaint towards as of rn is shallan

ivantill cafeteria scene analysis

keep in mind that this is fully just my personal opinion and interpretation of the scene okay cool

the cafeteria scene from round 6 has always been really interesting to me, and i've seen a lot of people take it different ways, so i just wanted to walk through my view of it because it's such a telling scene about their dynamic more recently than as kids

the scene starts with a shot of till during the round that looks to be from ivan's pov, showing us what he's seeing in the moment, and flashes back to one of ivan's memories from anakt.

considering the almost identical expressions till is wearing in both shots, it seems to be ivan thinking back to a time he saw till look the way he does in round 6- miserable, hopeless, defeated. like he's given up.

we then see ivan noticing till's apparent resignation and shitty mood (because of course he notices, it's his personal watching till time after all), then getting up to go bother him. i say 'bother him', and it definitely looks like that's what he's doing, but i don't think that's ivan's goal. i think ivan's goal is to comfort, or at least distract till.

despite their juvenile fights, we've never seen ivan actually want to cause till true harm. his lyrics in both black sorrow and cure are caring and reverent, making it apparent that ivan really does just love and care for him and just wants to be able to do things for till. this is furthered ofc by the whole post-club scene where ivan looks absolutely devastated seeing the state till is in.

i always reference back to my mirroring post bc it explains the way i imagine ivan's train of thought, and it applies here again. ivan does not know how to comfort till in a conventional way (probably for a few reasons; till is different from the other students, both in the way he acts and displays his emotions, and in ivan's opinion of him. till is special to ivan, he usually drops his mask around him so meaningless platitudes wouldn't be right) but he does know how to get till's attention on him and out of his own head.

all this being said- what ivan does next:

he swipes his hand across the cut on till's cheek. yeah, i know, definitely not what most people would consider 'comforting their friend' but that's what makes sense to ivan. 'how could i possibly distract him if he seems to ignore me most of the time?' (for now looking past the fact that till actually seems comfortable in ivan's quiet company, ivan's too single-focused to realize that)

and, well, i mean. he's right. till gets visibly disgruntled. he doesn't exactly look pissed as much as he looks caught the hell off guard, but it grabs his attention.

ivan, on the other hand, looks almost fond to me. i don't know, i just don't really think he looks smug even though i'm assuming that might be the general consensus. he almost seems a bit soft. to me, it looks like he's adoringly thinking, 'it worked. there, no time to be sad anymore, huh?' he probably is proud of himself for it, but not really in a selfish way.

till, of course, sees that it's ivan who's messing with him, and turns away.

i've also talked about this but at this age it really does seem like till's mindset when it comes to ivan is something along the lines of, 'oh, it's just ivan. he's fucking weird, that's just how he is' and more or less shrugs it off. he's used to ivan's "quirks" it seems.

this, till looking at ivan only to immediately look away, won't do. he only caught his attention for a few seconds, so i assume ivan's next logical move is to do something that will get an even bigger reaction. (ivan is a logical thinker, after all, at least in my perception of him)

so he. ya know. does that. which really seems like a great way to get himself punched, right? which honestly is also probably his plan. have till explode in anger, forget whatever happened for him to be injured in the first place, and ivan gets his undivided attention for a period of time. a win-win.

and you might be saying "oh, but couldn't ivan have just been doing that selfishly? we know his main goal is to get till to look at him." to which i say, yeah fair. i don't think this was done completely selflessly (i don't think anything ivan does is fully selfless but that's perhaps for another day) at all, he could've gone at it a different unconventional way if it was. but i think he probably sees it as mutually beneficial.

yes, it does seem like a way to show ivan wanting to keep till's eyes and attention on him. an example of how he seeks out till's attention no matter what, but the preceding shot of a hopeless till reminds ivan of this particular interaction for a reason.

there had to have been a motive behind what he did and why he did it then, and what we have to go off of for that is the first three shots. till wearing the same misery on two different occasions and ivan noticing. with that information, it's really not a stretch that this could be ivan's fucked up version of comfort.

(tho u did find some type of flying monkey that wasnt in game, but its like,, a real world and jungle now so that makes sense there'd be more complexity + stuff)

you do eventually think you should try and possess a person at this point... but ur kinda nervous 👉👈

its ur first time doin this okay nobody explained the basics to you youve been winging for a week now!

will your mind be replaced with theirs? it hasn't been so far with the creatures/bots

and as far as you can tell, they kinda just-

forget what happened or "wake up" after you possess them

(the tiger you were for a day looked confused as hell when it realized that there was a new pile of fruit next to it when it "woke up", it was your way of saying thank you to the animals of the jungle, u left them little piles of food you collected running around as them)

so THEORHETICALLY-

you should be good to go and possess a random poor eremite

... you figure you want to possess something human-like eventually even if you get a puppet body like wanderer/raiden so...

so it's been 2 weeks since you've been forcefully yanked into teyvat, and by the second week, you were trying to possess eremites

which! worked out!

mostly..!

you kinda convinced the entirety of two eremite camps that a certain part one of sumeru's forests is hella haunted bc ppl keep "blacking out" and doing things they don't remember doing, yknow... like possesssion LMAO

they kinda ran off to escape you but, hey!

experiment #2: people possession, success!!

now you were kinda convinced of this when you realized no matter the angle the animals and machines of sumeru didnt react to you getting super close to them (you dont have to touch something to posses it, just look at it really, but you wanted to test limits, so you walked up to sumpter beasts and fungi and ruin machines)

but no one can see you.

you don't have a "character" most of the time, you can float and glide around the ground like scaramouche lol

you cant touch stuff bc of this, you cant smell stuff (u saw the eremites campfires & couldnt smell the smoke until you were them)

you cant eat stuff w/o a body, so.. it makes sense that the eremites and passing merchants, cant see you when you float around, trying to reorient yourself after 2 weeks of experimenting

:( ur only a lil sad about it... but mostly not bc lol u got possession powers so trade off u guess

the first time you see a vision-bearer you literally scream

needless to say u stalk the forest ranger- ALL DAY.

Collei goes on patrol around the woods? you go on a patrol.

collei goes to visit other forest rangers? you "visit" other forest rangers at base (lol u def possess a guy who was asleep on a bench nearby & wake up to go talk to Collei "in-person", poor guy was so worried he sleep walked/talked so hard he went to see Tighnari an hour later lmao)

welp, you decide this is your life now, follow Collei everywhere, talk one-sided to Collei until you can possess a forest ranger w/o it being suspicious (dont wanna turn the poor rangers into the terrified eremites from a week or two ago...)

then, after you get the courage and erase the paranoia that tighnari can just... somehow hear your ghostly bullshit-

u do the same to Tighnari (then Cyno when he visits! no u didnt squeal, so what, nobody can hear you- )

Tighnari begins to get suspicious about 3 weeks into this routine.

he's been starting to collect and start a file on all the rangers or nearby villagers that've started randomly "blacking out/sleep walking" in the evenings usually

(u possess as close to nighttime as u can so it seems like sleepwalking)

So when Cyno comes back from a mission gone wrong,

having nearly been decapitated by a rogue flying ruin machine, only to black out and come to standing calmly 10 feet further than he remembered being 1 minute ago...

Tighnari's suspicions are confirmed, and he launches into researching this phenomenon.

his first thought is something like the aranara, but that doesn't account for the effect this thing is having on people

after all, what little forest spirit is strong enough to-

-control humans??

Tighnari begins to get the sense he's in over his head after he finds himself pushed into going into Sumeru City in order to collect more library books or ask around if the blackouts have spread to the city people

he answer is negative, on both accounts.

and he spends about one half of the day walking around, and the other reading up all he can on mythical creatures or ailments

Tighnari gives up for the day, and as he makes his way back to Ghandarvaville, he almost gets ambushed by some particularly nasty muggers

...and then he wakes up 20 feet away, his denro vision thrumming with power, full of worry and fondness for himself??, (just like Cyno said he felt happen to him..)

...Tighnari decides he needs reinforcements.

Bestie listen youve unzipped me and im about to go off. Harry Potter was my entire life until she literally couldn't shut the fuck up about trans women being perverts and infiltrators. I was a lonely neurodivergent weirdo and Harry Potter brought me solace as a kid. I read each of the books at least 7 or 8 times, that shit is INGRAINED in my brain. One of my best friends of 10+ years is my friend today because the first thing we bonded over was seeing the last HP movie. I used to be deadset on my 2nd tattoo being my pottermore wand with my hogwarts house. I wanted a fucking HP-themed wedding. The first funko pops I bought were Harry Potter ones. My first serious boyfriend told me he wanted to propose to me in front of Hogwarts castle (this was something he said to guilt trip me when i dumped his ass) ((also thank the gods that never happened he was a shithead and so is jkr)). My mom for some godforsaken reason let me help her name my youngest brother when he was born because she couldn't think of a name and my 10yo ass fuckikg picked DANIEL because of Daniel Radcliffe. I was in DEEP.

And you know what? Aside from the books I camped out to buy on release day and the DVDs that are crammed in a box somewhere in a storage unit, I have gotten rid of every single Harry potter thing I owned because I grew the fuck up and found better things to like. Sure I'll watch the DVDs again every few years to feel the nostalgia again because a good chunk of the cast are great people (we fucking stan Dan Radcliffe and David Tennant in this house ) but I'm not giving jkr another cent of my money or an inkling of my time beyond that.

My former boss wouldn't shut the fuck up about the new video game when it came out. I'm beyond thrilled that BG3 has had a wild runaway success and a longer-lasting player base than the fucking game she put out. Oh but the lore and world building? The ability to make your own character in such a fun and magical immersion world?bDnd has better lore than Harry potter ever did and the lore adds up and makes sense. I did something really sappy for my 30th birthday - I said goodbye to the franchise. I mourned what could have been. I went to Universal studios ((also bc Simpsons land and fast and furious ride and ET and a bunch of other stuff are there)) but I stopped into Harry potter world to do everything once and say goodbye to that part of my life since it was something I had wanted to do for most of my youth, and my friend who i became friends with because of harry potter was there with me. We drank the fucking pumpkin juice, had breakfast at the three broomsticks, appreciated all the little easter eggs around hp world, rode the hagrid ride, and ate a chocolate frog I wore my trans rights shirt and dressed gay as hell, my friend is trans so he just ~existed blissfully~ . I think every Harry potter fan needs to acknowledge that the franchise was good for them in the 90s, mourn that part of their life, and move on.

You lay on the bed looking up at the ceiling. Tears streaming down your face. You have locked yourself in the spare bedroom and now you are pondering. Overthinking.

This is never good. You say you have nothing to keep you busy but this is because you have no motivation to do anything to keep you busy. So you lay there and think. And think. And think.

You're spiraling. You and Will are far too similar. Putting on different masks, hiding who you really are. Hiding how you really feel. You're both good at it. A little too good.

The moment you turn the lock on that door your demeanor changes. One mask to another. Unlocked? You're happy and smiling and saying what you need to say so that no one suspects nothing.

But locked? The facade leaves. Your face drops and so do the tears. Your will to do anything evaporates.

You wish you could lower the mask when the door was unlocked, show Will that you hurt. Show him that you need help. But then you wouldn't be strong. What would he think of you?

He's the one that leaves and works at the theater all day. You have no real issues. What do you have to complain about? So you put the mask back on.

But now you lay here. You found more than just wine in the villa and decided to drink it. Drink it all. You thought if you drank enough that you could just go numb and fall asleep. Forget this even happened and wake up like normal when Will got home.

To feel something other than a heavy weight on your shoulders. Something that wasn't numb. Or feeling like a disgrace. He deserves better than you. Why would he keep you around? It can't possibly be your looks or your charm. He must feel bad for you.

He could drain you of all your body and you would only thank him. But you did that for him already. The alcohol was for more than just getting a little drunk. You simply hoped you would pass out. But since you didn't you grabbed a knife.

The empty bottle is on the floor. The knife is in your hand. But your hand? Lifeless on the bed next to you. The bed is soaking up your blood and you just feel dizzier and dizzier. Was it the alcohol? The loss of blood? You have no clue how deep you went, but the alcohol thinned your blood so there must be a decent amount.

Your eyes flutter. Feeling heavier and heavier. Until they close.

Oddly enough Will came home early that day. He wanted to come home and have lunch with you. He's been so busy and he feels bad that he hasn't made much time for you.

"Darling, I am home," he sounds so happy to be back early. But he gets no response. "Darling?" He starts walking through the villa looking for you.

"Has she went out?" He checks the main room, the kitchen, the bedroom. Nothing. But then notices the spare room door was closed.

They never kept it closed. He goes over and tries to open it, but it's locked.

"Odd," he tries to open it again. He was confused and went to walk away but got a huge whiff of blood. Too much blood.

"Darling?" panic settled in his voice. Did something fall and injure you? Is it blocking the door? He tries shoving the door open. Nothing. He steps back and licks the door. Once. Twice. The door flings open. Nothing was in front of it so what was-

He saw you on the bed and froze. The smell of blood was so strong that he went to cover his nose, but the moment his arm moved he snapped out of it and ran to your side.

"Wake up. Wake up!" he tried to shake you. He saw the knife and tossed it on top of a piece of furniture in there.

"No no no no no," tears start forming. He takes the scarf around his neck off and immediately starts trying it around your arm, as tightly as he can. Then the sash around his waist comes off. That goes around your other arm.

"Wake up!" He puts a hand on your cheek. You're still warm. That's a good sign. "Cometh on darling just move. Just a dram."

His hand moved to your neck to look for a pulse. Who is he kidding he doesn't know how to check for a pulse. So his head rests on your chest and he tries to be quiet, listening for a heartbeat. It's there. Barely, but it's there.

"D-Doth not leave me," the tears start flowing, and once they do they don't stop.

You feel yourself being shaken and groan softly. The first noise you've made in hours. You can't force your eyes open but you can tell someone is there.

What happened? Where are you? You can't move any part of your body, and if you can then you can't feel it.

Will gets so relieved when he hears that groan and hugs you tightly. Your body starts to wake up and as you start to feel the pain you remember what you did.

Oh no. No no no no. You didn't die. And he found you. You weren't supposed to be alive. The only worse than all of that pain might be having to deal with surviving.

"W-Will..." Your voice is weak and raspy.

"Shh. Doth not speak," he sits up and pushes your hair behind your ear. Your eyes opened for a moment and then shut again. Your breathing is heavy.

"Everything is fine anon. I am here." He can barely talk above a whisper. His voice cracks with every word. "Doth not move."

He keeps playing with your hair. Whether it be for his comfort or yours he isn't sure.

The blood is soaking through the scarf already. He wants to move you out of the blood but he is scared. He's scared to leave you for a moment to go get anything to clean your wounds.

"I am here.." he kisses you softly.

You pass out again briefly. You don't know how much time has passed when you wake up, but the room is lit up by a lamp.

Will is laying beside you, an arm around you, covered in your blood. You force your eyes open and look around. You look down at your arms and see that they are bandaged.

You try to sit up and Will immediately shoots up. His face is all red from crying, pieces of his hair clinging to his wet face.

"Doth not move, darling," his hand cups your cheek, his thumb gliding across your cold skin.

You couldn't find the strength to sit up anyway. You can barely move your head to the side to look at him.

Fresh tears form at his eyes from seeing you in so much pain. "W-why?" His voice cracked. "Why? Did I-"

"Will.."

You weren't going to have him blame himself. It was nothing he did. It's all because of you. You're the problem. You were just trying to find a solution.

You move your arm up slowly and rest your hand on top of his that is on your cheek.

"Why did you not tell me? I hath-"

"No," you try to find the energy to talk. He's just going to talk in circles if you let him. "You did nothing wrong."

"Then why?" He wipes his face with the back of his hand the best he can, sniffling.

"Living...hurts," you drag his hand off of your cheek. You don't deserve his touch. Or his tears. You don't even deserve the bandages on your arm.

"That is whetefore I am here, darling. To help thee. We are to do this together are we not?"

Even after this he still wants to help you, but why? You're obviously a problem. You're too difficult to handle.

"Alloweth me to get thee another blanket," he gets off the bed, going through the storage boxes in the room to get a blanket.

You notice his clothes are covered in your blood. Choking back your tears, you close your eyes. Then you feel a blanket covering you. You talk just above a mumble. "I don't deserve any of this. You should have let me-"

"I love you," he wasn't going to let you finish that sentence. "I would not wish any companion in the world but thee. I never known love til thee," he kisses your lips. Your eyes open to look up at him, wondering why he's doing this.

"I would save thee again and again."

His smile is soft and warming.

"I-I'm sorry," the tears start pouring from your eyes. Now that they've started they won't stop. "I'm so-sorry."

He wipes your tears with the cuff of his shirt but they don't stop. "It is okay, darling. You are safe anon."

He kneels down next to the edge of the bed. You hold his arm, not yet strong enough to hold all of him.

"I pray thee. Doth not hide thy emotions," he rests his head beside yours, listening to your cries, and heavy breath.

After a few minutes he stands up, wiping tears from his own face. "Alloweth me to get thee something to eat."

You simply nod your head and let him leave the room.

So this begs so much questioning. Just how does that teleportation circle work, and why is Imu of all people fatigued by this happening? My mind is still racing at this, and this is what I think: given how we never got a Devil Fruit name drop when the Elders shifted to Yokai Forme several chapters ago (which prompted much speculation in itself), and seeing Imu worn out now after the Elders were negated and sent packing... I think the Yokai shit is Imu's power, DF or not. The reason we got no Elder DF names is bc it' the one ability, which belongs to the secret god-king hiding back in Mariejois. The summoning circle is probably also Imu's power, because this looks to me like the transportation needs to be sustained - that massive Haki blast made Imu lose his focus, causing the Elders to get jettisoned back to hg. Seeing as how Mars was there before them, this teleportation power seems to have a range too - Mars was forced out of this range by Luffy & co, causing him to be zapped back first. This all seems incredibly overpowered to be the one DF/whatever else, but given how Imu is the secret final boss of One Piece, I can totally buy that he's fucking busted.

Also who the fuck is this other person worrying about Imu. I forget does he had any direct servants or w/e but this takes me aback.

Chapter 11 was such a roller coaster ride I loved it!

Mr.Ri☹️☹️ after hearing him explain his backstory as well and how he feels infinitely indebted to the family, but also lost someone who he truly loved?? I know he’s just a supporting character, but I can’t hope to wish that we get to see a win for him in the end as well🥲 I can’t imagine spending basically your whole life dedicated to one family without having the chance to even have your own or experience who you are without them. I’m hoping JK and Hobi picked up on this while he explained the story of oc to JK and they use their great executive power to give Mr. Ri a vacation or even an end to his “debt” because he doesn’t deserve to live working till the very end💔 and I hope he finds someone, whether a friend or partner that makes life more enjoyable for him because🥲

I loved seeing their relationship grow and I was right w my theory (that their relationship wouldn’t happen while she was his assistant) but I’m sad this miscommunication happened, but I know it’s better for them. I’d rather they wait till they have their own problems sorted out before trying to start a relationship where they end up resenting each other (especially reader, if she stayed for JK). I think JK has a lot that needs to be done emotionally, especially with his family dynamics before he could pursue a relationship (not saying everything needs to be fixed before that), but he obviously has issues that could “mess up” their relationship and I’d hate to see that cause a problem between them

And it’s so crazy how I was so excited for when we’d finally get some🥵🥵 but all I could do is feel sad because yes, what jk asked of her was selfish(I know he didn’t realize at the time), I couldn’t help but feel for how lonely he truly is. He has all these people around him ofc, but even in the beginning w his first uncomfortableness with getting a new assistant, it takes a lot for him to trust someone and I think him realizing that he might “lose” someone he just let in really scared him

I still think he asked at the wrong time! I know he didn’t realize her relationship w his family at the time, but I don’t think he had malicious intent with his plea, he just bared his heart and was trying to get everything off his chest WAY TOO early!

But reader🥲, I’m so happy she’s leaving! (Bad terms w jk, but I have faith he’ll grow up and find her when the time is right) she’s finally going to be doing something for herself and hearing how she’s basically lived her life thinking she HAD to repay the jeons for their kindness and just became a secretary for her adult life… nothing wrong with a secretary but you can tell she has dreams and aspirations, but the strong need to repay them back overtook that. I hope she uses this newfound freedom to explore her options and really choose something she’s happy in, she deserves that more than anyone, I’m so happy for her I can’t even explain it☺️

Jk and reader also have such noticeable holes in them (ofc I know this because I’m able to read their inner thoughts), but I hope they get filled🥲, yes a romantic connection is one of them, but it goes deeper than that. They both have traumas and issues they don’t talk about and I hope they are able to grow as people and with each other (in the future) because they’ve shown so much compassion towards others.

Sorry for rambling so much, but I really love the world building Mimi, I think there’s some other point I might be forgetting but thanks for sharing this story with us, it’s true one of my favs

Ok so first - yes, Mr. Ri is such a special character. I wanted to write someone who has this kind of backstory, bc I know it happens that people commit themselves to a company and a family like this. I wouldn't say he's "doomed" to live this way, although I envision him to be with them all his life, looking after the family bc he's a very trusted man. He technically has a 24/7 job, but it doesn't mean it's all he does. It may not be stated but CEO Jeon gives Mr Ri lots of time-off, he's paid well, he travels, etc. It's just that he chooses this, bc it's all he's known and he'd rather fulfil his purpose this way than anywhere else.

As for your theory, correct! I never planned on OC and JK being romantically involved while OC is employed. That just means more drama and yes, miscommunication and lots of insecurities and fears. They have their burdens to carry and deal with, but we'll know of their respective thought processes on how they make sense of that baggage and how to move forward. I like that you touched on JK's family dynamic bc that's an important part of the aftermath. 😊

Echoing what you said about JK being truly lonely. He feels a lot of discomfort sharing parts of him to others; we saw that at the beginning. And now he's losing her, and that's such a big loss for him bc he doesn't do this, he doesn't open up and allow himself to feel. But it's the same with OC. They have so much going on internally and emotionally and it's about figuring how to deal with them and if they think they should do it on their own (again) or not. We do want to see them happy and it'll come! 😉

i am a poc fanfic writer myself and i think it is weirdly entitled when someone demands inclusion in that way? the majority of fanfic nowadays gives correct tags (i.e. f!reader or specific title!reader) and is inclusive enough (not using light/dark when talking of colours of skin/eyes/hair, not specificying on body type just saying that are shorter/taller than certain characters)

so I don't really understand OP's whole... rant. and about the whole personality and bg story? most long fics require some adequate backstory for their protagonist a.k.a the reader, so they need a backstory to be somewhat interesting right?

and did you read their PS 2? I have to say that writing ambiguous readers are easier (not easy, just less difficult) on short stories like drabbles or headcanons or one shots. but long fics? it is borderline impossible unless you want to have a boring 2-dimensional protagonist with the personality of a potato.

not to mention writers who write the untagged oc! reader stories are probably young. like 14 15 young. writers at that age are just writing for themselves and probably are new to the whole "writing for fandom" sphere.

i just saw their ps 2 and i personally think they're doubling down on a point just because someone else might not agree with them... ive been writing fanfiction since i was 13,,, im like 22 now, and i feel like what people in fandom nowadays (fuck i sound like a boomer urggghhh) forget that x readers were created as a form of self-insert. you as a reader just happen to have the "privilege" to also read this piece of fanfiction that someone else created to satisfy their own fantasies and thought that "hey i think someone like me out there might enjoy this too!!!"

i wouldn't say their rant is entitled, i guess they're not wrong but also,,, it's icky,, just that something in that rant is icky to me,,, ive seen this same argument over and over again in the past few years and many people have pointed out really good points (i.e. lack of poc rep) which is why i think it's great to highlight and boost poc!reader fanfics so that other poc writers know that they are appreciated in that fandom space!!! which brings me to the part in their rant where they talk about writing about ambiguous readers.

is it easy? to an extent, yes.

in my mind when i write fanfics, they are all faceless, shapeless entities,, but there is only so much i can do with this character that i cannot imagine. what happens when i want to explore certain topics that i might relate to? i can't expect my readers to understand what it's like being a first-generation immigrant in a first-world city, whose home country is now going through a civil war? but does that mean i'm going to not post what i write as an x reader? no! i'm going to post it so that you as a reader can see what goes on in my head, how i see the world and hopefully, that reader can appreciate the work i have put out that i wrote with my heart.

that's my side of the story. and honestly someone not liking a fic because it doesn't relate to them is the most self-centred take i have seen and it used to be a valid argument but now,,,, it's morphing into plain old "what about me?" and they end the conversation at that,,, like why should writers care about you? if you're not the target audience for these fics,, move on!!!

don't greatly feel like doing this rn, but i know I do need to.

brain is constantly racing lately. i mean constantly i really do.

the grief of losing lisa has been coming harder, i really miss her and i cant believe she is really gone. i will never forget that woman. lisa was truly my favorite person growing up. she's a real angel now.;/ Marisa Lynn just called me while I was writing the below stuff, she said new years eve was the best. I think about thanksgiving alot too, we had a all nighter, I'll never forget seeing Lisa on the back porch as the sun came up. and that was practically the last time I really saw her. Her health went downhill so quick after that.. I had the thought earlier like things just came together in a way, and that night was almost a send off for her. except nobody knew. it was really our fucking reunion., and it turned into our last night together.

tomorrow ive got to go to my brother casey's wedding ;| i haven't seen this side of my family in like nearly 5 years. i ordered something I really like to wear, something that is appropriate, but also boldly ME. It may not arrive in time, and I don't know what to wear in that situation yet, also don't know if what I already have that is appropriate is something i feel comfortable wearing/ me. :/ but its fineeeeeee this wedding will happen. i'm going to see both of my brothers tomorrow, my dads brother (he's chill) and my other niece's and nephews. just weird bc i don't know these people honestly. we have a zero on the relationship bar. idk that just makes me anxious, uncomfortable... shruggg. i just know when I have a life event I wouldn't invite them, but I feel obligated. however i do also feel immensely happy for Casey, the divorce of his first marriage im sure was extremely hard for him. i'm glad he has a great partner now, large happy family. he seems content the last few times I'd seen him. Casey is the only one I have seen in the last 5 years. My aunts funeral, fathers day like two years ago, and Marissas baby shower. He is a good guy, and he deserves to be celebrated and have who he wants to show up for him, show up. I'll also have Cece, and Marissa there to keep me company.

i feel alone. Wrote that before Marisa Lynn called me. Expecting and hoping she calls me back. Idk, its Friday night and I'm all alone, not much is stimulating to me. I don't have a hyper fixation right now, so its like I have nothing lol. makes me feel like a zombie just coasting through life. I understand why my comfort/ favorite/ go to people cant hang out tonight but idk I miss them. And I had to cancel plans with Alyssa for tomorrow bc I changed my mind on attending the wedding. Texted her asking about other days after we talked and she said she was soooo happy I was going. and nothinnnnnn. idk a little "let me seee" and then get back to me would be nice... i know shes got alot going on though. im not upset with her at all. but I miss her :( Ruby cant hang because her back is killing her :( also not upset with her at all, i see her all the time lol. but idk maybe i'm just a bit bored... I have decided to start working shows at the theatre again! maybe partly for a little stimulation. Its been so long since I've done a show! I used to think strongly that I couldnt do it because I'm not getting payed.. but I was never payed before, I always did it because I enjoyed it so much! Its something to do thats a passion of mine. also the sense of community is great and admirable. everyone who is there.. wants to be there! its not like at work where people are miserable. I applied on the website, but i think I'll draft an email to someone tonight. I wanna jump on this burst of energy for it before it goes away and I don't take it up again. plus I'd like to see how much I like it. Crazy being able to get back into hobbys. lol for so long I thought it was possible to make time for it. and hey with me being active there again, maybe it would be easier to also get Cece into it.

I also bought some adderal from Kerri, I think thats what has awoken quite a bit inside me. i really need this shit to be real human. lol especially the highted emotions. I've actually cried both yesterday and today. and its been so therapeutic. Lisa also took me to my first audition into the theatre, she sat there while I did it, she filled out the paperwork. I thank her for that. I wished I could in person because that really means alot not looking back and seeing how far that took me/ changed my life. it really did change my life. so did our pitch perfect binges. <3

my mom has been really good lately. she stopped drinking as much. like for a few weeks, maybe 2 weeks. she didnt really drink at all. shes been alot more active around the house, she said she would treat herself to it on saturdays. which is fair, thats cool. so yesterday, a thursday when I came home and I could tell she at least had a buzz going on, it instantly locked up. idk i was dissappointed, i was angry, I was sad. It triggered me for sure, because, for once I wasnt expecting it. at least on Saturdays I would expect it. I can clock when shes had a sip of alcohol better than I can clock probably anything. so she cant lie to me about it.. but also highly emotional on it because I've wanted the last few weeks to be our reality for so long, and so badly... she really seems ready to cut it down to one day a week. and I know she can do it, she just did it. she just has to stick to it. I have high hopes, thats why I didnt blow up or something about it, also because i'm smarter than that, i know time and place to be heard best. and after a drink its never there. I just mentioned it this morning. I think she had a tiny bit to drink tonight too.

Do I attract creeps?

Since I was 16-17yo I have been approached by strengers in public spaces, male, older, from mid 20's up till very old who could be my grandpa. Now I am 20yo and I still somewhat fit into beauty standards and am still being approached. It creeps the shit out of me every time. I hate it. Now I see an older men who seems like he wants to say something to me and I get so triggered like you wouldn't believe. I see red.

I was 16yo, first year of highschool and going to school and two older guys passed me. Behind my back I hear a disgusting whistle.

Same year a guy approaches me in shopping centre. Tells me I am very pretty, that make sme happy bc I wanted to look pretty. He makes a small talk. Wants to buy me something if I suck him off in the public bathroom. I say I'm sixteen and going to meet my new classmates. He starts to sweat and true to retreat.

I'm 17yo, second year of highschool. Very old guy with white hair sits next to me at the bus stop. I drink bubble tea after school and wait to get home. He makes a small talk. Asks who bought me the drink, bc it sure wasn't me. Ask if I have a boyfriend. Says that girls these days only want men for money but they also need men. He keeps nagging and I think I will just get into the next bus wherever it drives, so i cound just run away from him and this creepy situation. The bubble tea I bought myself alone with my part time job money, and I don't have a boyfriend. Never had yet.

I was 17yo, I was crossing traffic on my way to school. There is a car on red light, full of old construction workers. They look at me as I am going through the green light and turn their heads when I take a turn right next to their car, bc that's my way to school. There is at last four of them in the car and they look me up and down like with stupid grinns. They are looking at me, even when I look them in the eyes. It's disgustong. I regret wearing a skirt. I show them a middle finger and run away.

I'm 19, first year of uni, still no boyfriend but more money to buy myslef bubble tea.

I live in Europe where shopping centers are a thing. One floor is usually a food hall. You can hang out there with friends while eating or just eat lunch and go. Sometimes I just eat my lunch alone, minding my own business. I just sit deep in my thoughts. And behind my back I hear a male voice.

"Have a good meal, lady"

I turn around and the dude is alrady gone. Who was that? Was it the guy who was sitting at the nearest table? Why would a stranger talk to me? In the country I live people don't do small talks or approach strangers for no reason. Everybody minds their own business so its not a normal situation.

Now

This happens again. I am sitting and eating dinner after work in a shopping centers. One guys passing by ask me what am I eating. Luckily, he must have been just curious, maybe he will buy this meal next time. After being approached by many creeps in the past, I half lg expected him to try to make a small talk and try to sit next to me but thank hod it was just a nice man who walked away. Great. 10 minutes later im finishing my meal, not looking around, searching something on my phone and a slightly drunk older man approaches. Again. "Have a nice meal, pretty lady. Hope it tastes good". And it's so fucking weird. I have no idea who this man is, again.

Today at work. I work at the office behind the desk, copping numbers and filling documents with other numbers. The office is a big space with many desks but other people work at home office and I'm the only one there for most of the weak. Walls of the ofgice have glassed windows and door that can only be opened with a card. Sometimes people forget their card or somebody from other department comes and knocks at the door so somebody can let the in. I am doing my work and I ear a knock. I look up but it's just a guy who cleans the hall hit the glass with a mop. I go back to my work.

Two hours later i hear a knock. There is a man standing there. Older, a bit fat dude in working uniform. Sometimes some men from IT come to fix the printer, coffee machine or count the missing IT tech. I assumed it's one of those men so i open the door to let him in.

He just came to say good bye and ask when would we go to grab a coffee.

I'm like ?????

It was the guy who hit the glass with a mop begore. I forgot he existed but he managed to form enough of a connection with me to want to go inside the office to say goodbye and talked to me as if we know each other. When I was not aware. I don't know you man. You are a stranger. I saw you for a second in the hall. I don't know who you are, we don't know each ather but u act as if we do. Wait, I don't know you, but fo you know me? Were you watching me for past two hours? When I was no aware you observed me and created some alternative reality in your head when I want to date you? You are clearly older, you could be my dad.

And that's thw most creepy thing about it. I am minding my own business but then it's alwas an older men who I don't know who approaches me out of nowhere. I did nothing to get the attention, I sent no sign that I am interested i was just getting thru my day In mom jeans and a T-shirt and I still got spotted like a pray in the crowd by another person from thw crowd who I have not noticed. How often am I observed by older men and I don't notice? What are the chances that they are nice people and what are the chances that they are not? This is such a packed chapter and yet *this* is the moment I've been waiting for.

I've said before on here how I wished the link between Vegapunk and the extermination of Lulusia was emphasised more. The parallels between Vegapunk's innovations and real life scientists having their work used for evil purposes is too great, and while OP isn't quite the series to explore a subject like that as it deserves, I'd been holding out hope that this manga would at least lampshade it, if not have Vegapunk address this. I can be satisfied with this. I am glad Vegapunk understands what his work lead to, even if he never meant for it to. Such is the price of capital and the state dictating scientific development babes.
