A small note for later seasons (episode 2x07 as well as TVA book spoilers):

So just an FYI for everyone to remember: Claudia's execution was told from Armand's POV in the show. Louis wasn't there, Lestat's mind was only half-there due to not being fully healed as well being mind-spelled (yes, he was) . . . and we're about to see what becomes of the rest of the coven next week.

So right now, there is only one person who can fully tell what happened to Claudia once Louis was taken from that stage.

And that is deliberate IMO.

Because even in the books there is something about all of this that Armand never spoke about. Didn't say one word about to Louis or Lestat . . . until he finally told David Talbot about it, and it was put in his book The Vampire Armand.

And I think the show is going to do the same thing. They won't reveal it now, during this season IMO. But I can see, in a season or two, Armand telling Daniel (instead of David) the full of what happened. Which I am now going to put under a cut:

In the book The Vampire Armand it is revealed that, before Claudia was executed, Armand did an experiment on her where he cut her head off and placed it on the body of a female adult vampire. Just to try and give Claudia her final wish of being in an adult body.

And when it didn't work and turned out rather horrible, he put her head back on her body and then left her to be burned by the sunlight.

And the show didn't show all of that now, IMO, because I think if they had revealed it now . . . there is just no way Armand would get sympathy back IMO. But the show very much dropped hints about it, as far back as 2x02. And as Assad said, this show very much plants seeds for things we won't see for a while. And I think they have very much done so wrt this.

Oh, and for those who've never read the books, the reason why what Armand did to Claudia wasn't in the 1994 movie is because the book that revealed it wasn't published until 1998.

But yeah, I do think this is something the show is going to reveal one day, but just not right now. Because again, the audience losing Claudia is just way to raw and real at this point in time. Revealing that on top of it? Seeing such a thing -- in HD4K -- would be way more horrific than just reading about it I suspect. And I'm not sure Armand's character could have won non-book reading audiences back if they had revealed that now. Or even in the next episode, which I don't think they will either.

However, Claudia's execution was only told from Armand's POV, and pretty much can only be fully told by him. And, as I said, IMO that was very deliberate.

(Eddie Munson x F!reader) reader has long hair, mention of drugs.

"There are too many people out there,” Eddie said nervously, aimlessly pacing in the backstage for the fourth time, nearly colliding with the other band members who were getting ready to go on stage.

He wasn’t wrong; the Hideout had never been this crowded, and you were the one to thank (or to blame). You had invited Robin to come see Corroded Coffin play that night, and she had called Vickie, who in turn had invited some of her friends. While chatting with Robin, Nancy and Jonathan overheard and joined in (despite Nancy not seeming thrilled about “listening to four guys scream all night”), and Jonathan had invited his quirky friend visiting from California too, who brought along more friends.

In short, friends had invited more friends, and they, in turn, had invited others, making the place more packed than it had ever been.

Eddie’s dark curls bounced on his shoulders with each step, and his self-cropped Anthrax t-shirt, cut with kitchen scissors a few days prior, revealed a sliver of his stomach.

Jeff rolled his eyes and walked away. He wasn’t ready to hear Eddie give the same speech for the fifth time in half an hour.

“Eddie, can you stop for a moment?” you got up from the old armchair where you’d been sitting since they let you into the backstage area that evening.

You grabbed a drumstick Gareth had left on the table and used it to secure your hair into something that was supposed to be a messy bun. It was a habit you’d picked up a few weeks ago, and you were pretty sure your drummer friend was starting to hate you for it.

"Eddie,” you repeated his name when you reached him, placing your hands on his arms to stop him. “It's gonna be okay.”

He let out a long sigh, wondering if you were aware that your touch alone could calm him in seconds, more effectively than hundreds of words ever could. When your hands returned to your sides, he already missed that contact.

He stared at you for a moment, his brown eyes filled with insecurity. “No,” he shook his head.

“Eds, you need to stay calm. They’ll like you, and-”

“Sweetheart, no one likes us. You’re the only person who claps every time we play here.”

“Because the other times, there wasn’t enough audience! This time will be different, trust me.”

“The last time I played in front of so many people, I was in middle school, and the whole school laughed at me. I’m not ready to experience that again.”

Eddie saw how your expression softened and worried at the same time, and he almost wished he hadn’t said it.

He ran a hand through his hair, disheveling it even more than his quick pacing had already done. “God, I really need a joint right now.”

You let out a little laugh at that comment, and one corner of Eddie’s lips involuntarily lifted. The sound of your laughter always made him happier.

“No, all you need is a friend who tells you that you’ll rock it and that everything will be fine. And I’m here now, telling you that.” You stood on tiptoe to fix a stray curl.

“Trust me, please?” When you looked at him like that he couldn't help but believe you, or at least try. You always believed in him.

"Okay."

You smiled. God, you were so pretty and he had been so anxious that night that he hadn't even remembered to tell you.

"Okay?"

"Okay." He repeated, more confident this time.

Somewhere behind you you heard Jeff shout. "Five minutes and we're on stage!"

“Fuck.” Eddie sighed.

"Eddie. Eds, look at me. You have to promise me two things before you go out there. I'm serious."

Eddie remained silent, nodding slightly.

"The first is that whatever people do, think or say, you have to remember that it won't define you. I know who you are. I know what you're worth. I don't give a shit about them. A shit. Zero. Nada."

Eddie chuckled. "Second thing?"

"Second thing is, when you're famous you'll let me come on tour with you."

Eddie laughed, for real this time. Those dimples that you loved so much have appeared on his face. "You said you were serious!"

"Oh and I am! One hundred percent!"

Eddie, still laughing, placed his hand over his heart, as if swearing a solemn oath. "I promise on my honor."

"Okay, I'm happy now."

"I wouldn't go anywhere without you anyway. You're pretty much an integral part of the band now. I planned on kidnapping you in case I ever left town but you make things a lot easier now."

"Well, I guess you won't need it."

"Two minutes!" Jeff shouted.

"I think I have to go now."

You nodded, a smile still on your lips.

"C'mere." He quickly said before wrapping an arm around your waist, pulling you against his chest in a hug.

You inhaled his scent for a few seconds, it was smoke and cheap beer, like all the other times. For you, there was nothing better.

After a moment, you slightly pulled away but his hand was still on your back, as if he wasn't ready to let you go, and you found yourself looking into his chocolate brown eyes trying to figure out what was happening.

His gaze wasn't on your eyes though. It seemed like your mouth had caught his attention.

When you realized his lips were so close to yours that you could feel the heat of his breath on your skin, a voice interrupted the moment.

You cleared your throat as Eddie took a step back.

"My drum stick!" Gareth repeated, a bit of frustration but also amazement because of what he had just seen in his voice, moving his gaze between the two of you.

"Fuck, you're right." You murmured, pulling it out of your hair and handing it to him. You had completely forgotten about it.

Gareth looked at his friend. "Are you coming with us or you two want to get a room?"

"Yes, no, I mean. I'm coming, fuck, I mean. I'm ready. All ready. Yes. Ready."

You giggled when you saw a light shade of red on his cheeks.

"I'll be cheering for you in the front row, you know that."

"I know. Thank you sweetheart."

He looked at you one last time before following Gareth onto the stage.

You stood there for a second. Wondering what the hell just happened.

Then you left the backstage.

The one thing I couldn't digest for the longest time was Colin accusing Penelope of entrapment.

But thinking about it, I get it, I understand.

Not only he was entraped before, but he's suffering. The one person he loves and cares about the most, the one person who trusted the most pretty much betrayed him and he said it to hurt her.

Was it awful to watch? Yes. Was is a smart or adult thing to say? No. But we've all been there. And whoever says no is lying. Every single one of us said something we regret. Penelope did that to Colin in Whistledown. I used to do that, I can't lie! I'm older now and I'm trying my best not to and I'm succeeding, but this is another real issue Polin is dealing with and it's beautiful!

He's just 22. He has trauma to deal with. He regrets it immediately after saing it - you can see it on his face - because he knows it's not true. It was his anger and hurt speaking.

Colin really deserves some grace, because he's an amazing person, just like Penelope, but for some reason, he gets much more hate for the same things they've both done. Pen was forgiven super quickly, because "she was hurt", but guess what, so was Colin! Real people with real feelings and real flaws and real mistakes. That's our Polin💛

Yeah yeah, I know not everything is about Jikook. This is JM's album, JM's photo concept, JM's creation. And yes, not everything is about them as a couple. There is definitley plenty that isn't. But with saying that, we have seen, time and time again, referencing, coding and mirroring of one another. Not everything is about them as a couple, but yet, I do believe that some of it is.

And then we have this next photo.

If you are sitting there and denying the second you saw the tie you didn't envision this:

then you are lying. Either out right or to yourself.

Reminds me of someone else that had some mirroring going on and was called a copycat and so much more and worse.

I can assure you that was one among many photos taken in that shoot, and yet, that was the photo chosen by JM.

Besides the fact that JM is beautiful, no need to even state the obvious, we get a few more details from this photo.

First we get the 13 on his cheek.

In the Face shoots he had the studs/thorns and scar under his eye, and now he's proudly wearing the number 13, a number that means so much to him that he has it permanently tattooed on his arm.

In the teaser clip we had the crescent (probably right hand) and now we get two parallel lines. An equal sign perhaps?

I find a few things curious with this one.

First of all, using the terms "boy" and "beautiful".

JM being an almost 30 yo man choosing the work boy is a little strange here, and knowing that every single thing he does is done with thought, just like the use of the non binary singer emoji for the 30 minute reminder or the tteokbokkibyjk.

And what about the use of the term beautiful, a term usually used as an expression of feminine good looks rather than masculine (not by me, btw, but by many).

Another curious thing I found was the dialogue, and more so, the question asked by JM: "Is that how you see me?!"

Question mark exclamation mark.

Is he asking us if we see him as a boy? Is it about age or gender? If we see him as beautiful? Is this about me overthinking? 🤣🤣

And then we have the clip:

📋 It probably takes a while for her to settle into the relationship. Not to say that she dislikes being with you (of course not!!), but she's anxious. Like that's literally their whole thing. They have a hard time believing that you're actually... yknow, WITH THEM. Like, WILLINGLY.

📋 Eventually though, once you've given her plenty of reassurance, she'll start easing into the relationship

📋 Literally such a planner!! You can bet they've got a whole notebook dedicated to your relationship. Possible date ideas, things you like, things you dislike, important couple milestones to look forward to, etc. She's managing both of your calenders while ALSO crafting a detailed step-by-step plan of the next few years of your future together

📋 Anxiety is definitely the type to ramble— not just about they're job of looking after Riley but also about pretty much everything else. This one's a yapper, what can I say

📋 It's probably an insecurity of hers (she fears sometimes that her constant chatting may come off as annoying), but if you take the time to actually listen to what she has to say? Ask questions?? Offer your own insight???

📋 One word: marriage

📋 It's pretty much canon that she's prone to nervous breakdowns and insomnia. You should like... help her with that 👀. Guide her towards her massage chair when she needs it (or even better: offer a massage yourself). Cuddle with them in their bed, or yours. Talk them through their thoughts. Whatever works for the both of you

📋 I see Anxiety as being on the spectrum (ngl I feel like most of the emotions got that tism in them). That being said, physical touch is... well, they're not ADVERSE to it exactly, but it's probably not something they partake in often. Like it's not something she'll initiate, if that makes sense?? She's just very conscious of everyone else's personal space and would hate to overstep any boundaries

📋 THAT BEING SAID... Please hold her hand every now and then. Maybe just slide your hand into theirs while the two of you are standing side-by-side at the control panel, or give hers a small squeeze whenever she starts spiraling. She finds it grounding

Okay I'm going to partially tell on myself. I am new, as in the Buck/T kiss showed up all over my dash, as did all of Oliver's interviews and I just thought he was the yummiest most delightful human being I had ever seen and heard (my god is accent is heaven) new. And I thought that first kiss was really well done. It was a great scene. Now, that being said, I didn'twant to jump into a show that was seven seasons into the story with zero context, except the stuff I had been seeing on my dash for years. So I started from the beginning, with the full intent and excitement of getting to T in season 7. Imagine my surprise when he popped up occasionally in earlier seasons. His only good part was when we were supposed to believe that Chim could lift him over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, haha. That was great.

Anyway by the time I made it to season 7, it was too late. I had just watched 5 seasons of Buck and Eddie. There was zero room for T to compete on any level. Which is why the behavior of some is so confusing to me. Let me say first that I do not think the show always intended to put Buck and Eddie together, I don't think that's been the intention since the beginning. There is however a very good case to make that Eddie's introduction was Buck's actual Bi bell ringing moment though (*what a man plays in the background*). I do however agree that the writing has trended, increasingly so, in that direction. The writers do not hold all the blame however, Oliver and Ryan have kind of acted them into a corner. There are several scenes, multiple scenes, where the acting choices the two of them made were interesting, to say the least (looking at you 'go for the title' kitchen scene I love. Buck was flirting on every possible level in that scene).

Sorry, I got off track, back to my point. The people like me, who came in after the kiss popped up everywhere, being all in on T is somewhat fine. The problem would be the ones who are deliberately refusing to go back and watch the entire series before pontificating on B/T being destiny and all that other nonsense. There is an argument to be made that they're avoiding it because they know most of the history dismantles their current ship fixation. So as a result those people can be easily dismissed because they have zero context to any of their opinions. The ones who were with you all for 5 seasons though, yes I've seen their posts, who lost their shit over 2 pairs of lips touching, is what I cannot wrap my brain around. I completely understand the excitement behind that first kiss. It was a much anticipated moment for BUCK. He was the important person in that scene.

But confusing, or deliberately misinterpreting, Buck's revelation and sigh of relief at finally figuring out something pretty significant about himself, as being about him finding T is a gymnastics act I did not expect to see from so many long haulers. I mean, it should be obvious but T wasn't important in that scene. His gender was what was important. Which is why they have barely bothered to show him since that episode. And the interactions they have shown, minus the hospital kiss, that they made sure to show Eddie's reaction to btw, have all been red flag scenes. Little things that show this relationship isn't really that different from his previous relationships. Buck may have figured out the gender part but he's still making the same relationship mistakes. It's why the few scenes they've had together, and it's the bare minimum of effort, have been about Buck trying to initiate some level of communication and emotional connection and him being dismissed or having it turned into a daddy kink joke. I also think Oliver's enthusiasm dipped drastically by the end and it showed.

Which brings me to Eddie. The show, and more so, Oliver and Ryan have already done the hard part. The emotional connection, which is way more difficult to pull off than a physical connection, is already there. Their chemistry is already established.They're partners in every way but physically. As a result it is not a huge character leap to eventually bring a physical relationship into it as well. That will not be a shocking character development for either character. It goes back to the way the two have been written and they way Oliver and Ryan have interrupted those scenes. I won't touch their interviews because I think it's pretty clear, at this point, they seem to agree it's the way to go. There's more story to explore with them learning how to navigate an actual relationship than there is in bringing in other, lesser characters, to firstly try to compete with that connection, and then try to establish endgame status. I don't know. It's not about any two pairs of lips touching it's about the right two pairs of lips touching. Because when it's the right couple the characters get that sigh and exhale of finally! But the audience gets their sigh and exhale of finally as well. That is the point.

Ooooh Nonny, you speak right to my heart.

First of all, thank you for going back all the way to season 1 to actually sit down and watch the show. We aren't just making up Buddie. It has been there since the beginning. I'm so glad you got to witness their beautiful history together and that you realised just how right they are for each other.

I can't speak for the people who suddenly turned 180° and dropped Buddie for BT. I have been shipping Buddie from season 2, so I don't understand their reasoning or motivation either. It like you said so beautifully:

"It's not about any two pairs of lips touching. It's about the right two pairs of lips touching."

And that is what it comes down to. We can be content with a lackluster, meaningless relationship for queer rep. Or we can be exhilerated with an amazingly complex and years in the making relationship, which will be so much better for queer rep. It will be revolutionary in so many ways to make a slow burn queer ship canon.

(Before anyone comes at me for talking about queer rep. I have slowly been figuring myself out over the last couple of years and, looking back at my life and relationships, I've come to realise that I definitely belong somewhere on the ace spectrum. Not sure where exactly, I'm still searching for the right label, but it feels right to me. This is actually the first time I said this on a public forum for people to read. Kinda scary to be honest.)

I know what I would choose for myself if I was faced with these two options. Why wouldn't we automatically choose this for Buck and Eddie as well? It's mind-boggling really.

So yeah: queer Eddie and Buddie canon in season 8! All the way!

I saw some people complaining about it, but I thought it was really great.

First, Touya looks like he's having an absolute meltdown, while Shoto is almost standing like inside a protective circle.

Then Shouto looks like he starts building a path towards Touya with his own light to reach Touya. There is the moment of collision (the one emphasised in the manga and I love that the crash sound was like a wave crashing into Touya:

Touya's fire goes out and the steam builds around them and the way Shouto holds Touya (like now he's also inside Shouto's protective circle) and says in a quiet, soothing voice "Please stop" - that was the one thing I absolutely wanted in the scene is for Kaji to say that part really quietly.

And as we pan out, the corridor has the image of a giant wave, inspired by the name of the ultimate move which means "great tidal wave", and then it just keeps coming out in waves, overpowering the raging fire, all the while Shouto holds Touya in the eye of the storm.

I never would have expected the little kid images to be part of the quirk-explosion - but it works. It makes a neat line between Mt Lady explaining how ultimate moves represent who you are, so this is Shouto attempting to communicate with Touya via his quirk.

And it was pretty cool, how the outline is reminiscent of a nuclear explosion image, but the way the image is moving evokes being washed away in the waves.

This part again looks like they coming out from under water to see that all the fire now looks like frozen waves and the "dance" came to an end.

I always imagined this bit to be silent - so I'm glad BONES did that and the sound of ice was really nice touch.

This whole sequence was done by Akiko Otsuka (according to the Sakuga-bros at least), who has done some amazing work on fire animation in BONES through the seasons. She didn't have much to go on, because in the manga, all of this is like a 99% white page. But I love her choices. While Touya's technique is a lot like Endeavor's technique - violent impacts - Shouto's Phosphor looks so different. It has a watery quality to it, which makes it feel gentler. The way it manifests too - starting from Shouto's heart, digging deeper and deeper to bring out just endless waves of soothing cold rather than a violent impact-freeze represents well how and why Shouto is using the power.

It's Touya's boundless rage and pain vs Shouto's balanced, calm healing. But it also doesn't look like overpowering, it looks like a rescue.

New Puppet Unlocked: Pomni, the Last Harlequin!

Pomni's character description:

I actually finished this about three days ago, but I didn't wanna post it because I haven't started on the others yet. I eventually decided that fuck it, we ball.

Pomni is the most recent and last model of a Combat Harlequin; P-1210. She doesn't have any remembrance of her life before becoming a Puppet, only the fact that she has an itch in her head that tells her to keep fighting.

After hunting down The Puppetmaster and a duel ensues between the two, it ends with the Harlequin and The Puppetmaster forming an alliance in order to fix the destroyed City.

Now, Pomni spends her time sparring, sharpening her sword, bantering with the Puppetmaster, hunting down bosses and eliminating manic Marionettes.

Fun facts about Pomni:

She likes sandwiches. Specifically, salmon.

She REALLY hates it when someone eats it. (It's Bubble)

She finds some things annoying in other Puppets, and will be blunt about it.

But that doesn't mean she doesn't care. In fact, far from it.

Pomni may come off as cold and jerkish due to her hot-temper, but in reality, her emotions simply have ahold on her more than anyone would ever really think.

Caine thinks that a therapist would benefit her. (honestly though)

She hasn't explored any hobbies outside from anything involving combat.

Pomni occasionally gets glimpses of visions when she dies; she is unaware of what they mean.

Pomni rarely gets drunk; she'll only indulge in alcohol when there's an occasion. Aside from that, she tends to limit Caine's alcohol intake (reasoning that he smells like booze), much to the Puppetmaster's dismay.

She tends to shut down any form of philosophical advices, thinking they're "typical" and "unnecessary".

She tends to be careless and rude in battle.

When push comes to shove, Pomni can and WILL use her sharp teeth to her advantage.

౨ৎ The last thing you expected from today was to end up in an argument with Jake. You had felt pretty pleased with the way your friendship was progressing, if not a tinge bittersweet about how he most likely didn't reciprocate your romantic feelings.

When he first texted you asking for you to come to his soccer game, you'd been excited, but now you wish you'd just declined his invitation.

The game didn't go well, to say the least, knocking the HYBE U soccer team out of contention for the playoffs. It wasn't the fault of any specific player, the SM Tigers were just a really good team.

Once the game was over, you and Beomgyu looked at each other cringing at the devastating loss the team had just faced.

"Should we say something to them?" You ask hesitantly, not sure on how to approach the situation.

"I guess we should, they already know we're here, so it'd probably be worse not to say anything."

You nod and grab your stuff, following Beomgyu down to the field. You frown as you see the crestfallen looks on the team's faces, wanting nothing more than to make them feel better.

Beomgyu smiles awkwardly at Yeonjun and Kai, who seem to lighten up a bit at the presence of their friend.

"You guys played really well today, for what it's worth," You say, having found Jake standing off a bit away from the team.

he laughs sarcastically and shakes his head, "Not well enough, apparently." You frown at the self-deprecating tone of his voice.

"The tigers are just really good, there wasn't much you could've done, Jake."

You try to offer him some semblance of comfort, placing your hand on his shoulder and wincing when he shrugs it off.

"What, so we're just not good enough them?" He asks accusingly, refusing to make eye contact with you.

"Jake, that's not what I meant, I promise." You feel yourself growing frustrated at his attitude, despite knowing that he was just having a bad day.

"Whatever, it doesn't matter." He spits, anger clear in his tone.

"It's ok to feel upset at this, it's a big loss, it'd be weird if you weren't upset."

He scoffs at you, "Like you know anything about soccer anyways..."

You shrink back from him, feeling his distaste towards you in that moment. "Ok, I can tell you're not super happy right now, so I'm just gonna go. I hope you have a good night and text me whenever you're ready to talk."

You turn away from him, a burning-hot pit of negative emotions building slowly in your stomach. You make your way to Beomgyu who looks at you questioningly but you shake your head and begin to lead him out of the stadium.

"Yeah whatever, just run home with your little boyfriend." You freeze in your tracks as you hear Jake yelling behind you.

Beomgyu grabs your arm as you turn around, silently pleading with you not to say anything, but you ignore him, marching up to Jake.

"He's not my boyfriend, and just because you lost today, that doesn't mean you get to use me as a punching bag. I've been nothing but nice to you, so don't start yelling at me."

"Whatever Y/N just leave, you're making me feel worse and I can't deal with you right now."

His eyes still won't meet yours so you blink back tears and ball up your fists, nails cutting into your palms.

"I was just leaving anyways, don't text me, Jake." You turn away from him and Beomgyu rushes to you, grabbing your hand and dragging you out of the stadium, ignoring the worried looks from the other members of the team.

"Real nice Jake, she was just trying to comfort you." Jungwon speaks seriously.

"Whatever, fuck this, I'm leaving." Jake heads to the locker room by himself, still seething.

You and Beomgyu begin the walk back to your apartment as you try to hold back tears, not wanting to cry at some simple words.

"I'm fine Beomgyu, I just- I just guess he's not the guy I thought he was." You say, stuttering as you hiccup and hold back the tears that are now even more threatening than before.

The rest of the walk back to your apartment is filled with an uneasy silence, and you immediately head into your room when you arrive, turning off your phone and locking the door.

You can hear Winter and Ningning interrogating Beomgyu, using hushed tones, clearly not wanting you to hear.

Without further ado, onto the celebration event! I've decided I'm going to be opening edit requests. I'm not setting a time limit, partially because I don't know if I'll even get that many requests and partially because I don't know if this will feel fun or overwhelming. But I'll close requests whenever I feel like it's time.

REQUEST EVENT OPTIONS & RULES:

I've come up with 3 different options, detailed below. Requests will only be accepted through my inbox and feel free to send multiple. I'll take them on anon for now too. It might take some time to get to your request so please be patient with me! I originally made a list of groups/soloists I stan/will edit but that got long & I don't necessarily want to limit it to only them. Era Edits: send me a member + an era and I will edit some of their teasers from that era. You may request either just the era & get a mix of those teasers (ex: Kai - Rover) or a specific set of teasers (ex: Ten's 1st Mini Album - Teaser #4). I'll also accept full group + era, but those will take longer & I'll only do 1 or 2 pics per member. The number of teasers included will depend how many are available, the quality of the images and my personal preference. The older the era, the fewer the pics. ARTIST OF THE WEEK @midearthlingart ✨

This week's AOTW is Laz aka midearthling, and any AOTW event intending to bring classic ofmd art back into circulation would be incomplete without them <3 She agreed to answer a few questions for me and shared some great tips for beginners:

- Which do you use to draw (app/digital or traditional)?

I think everything posted here is digital, done mainly on Procreate, although I have started using Art Studio Pro more recently and I really like it (also an iPad app but available on other machines afaik!). I do like to doodle and do studies in my sketchbook though, I think it's good to keep me sharp and for a change of pace! And sometimes ideas come easier that way. But any completed pieces tend to be digital.

- Fave brushes/pencils/mediums (links/screenshots?)

On procreate I'm partial to using jingsketch basic’s flat brush, it’s so versatile for sketching and painting! Other brushes in my regular rotation are the default chalk and 6b brushes from procreate. I also have a soft ‘photoshop’ brush that I use to flat in colours, and a round brush I downloaded that I often use for sketching too; unfortunately I can’t remember where I got either of those ones but I’m pretty sure they were free! Sometimes I use random texture brushes, and the default watercolours in procreate.

- Your favourite piece you've drawn?

I go through phases of really loving some pieces and then hating them again (I often dislike my own art!) One of the best things I ever drew is a very nsfw comic so I unfortunately can’t share it on tumblr lmao. But in its stead, I think this and this have a special place in my heart.

- Who's harder to draw: Ed or Stede?

Honestly it just depends on the day! Both can be difficult to capture for different reasons; oddly I think for me I don’t have Ed’s face pinned down as much as I do with Stede’s. I’ve drawn them so much at this point I can bang them out without reference most of the time, but every now and again I’ll have a difficult angle and need to reference again! Stede’s nose is my absolute favourite to draw though.

- One essential tip for beginner artists?

Keep going! References and 3D models are your friend! It’s okay to make studies of other people’s works in order to learn (just don’t share and try to pass it off as your own!) Tracing photos to learn is also fine too, these are all just tools to help you hone your skill.

- Why OFMD? 🥹

It did something to my brain! I remember watching it back in March 2022 when there were only 6 episodes out at the time, I binged in one go and then the very next day watched all of them again. It just felt so cosy! I watched initially when I heard about it because I already loved Rhys and Taika’s works so needless to say it was hook, line and sinker from me from the start—I did not stand a chance! When it turned out to be a queer, middle-aged love story I knew it would be special to me forever.

Now to the meat of my notes!

A comparison with the original is the first thing I'll do

Color choices -

Maroon for the skin and much more defined black and white for the clothes. This was done to make a more prominent difference between clothing and the rest of it, to add something of a feel of uniform (it may not make sense to you, but it does to me)

In the new one, I made DDL entirely out of black and white. This ties into a design I do for a lot of the hosts, especially ones that aren't animated using assets. It's to make him more casual while also being more inhuman. With less identifiable features, the goal is to make his presence odder and less human

Hair -

In the original, I made it more realistic, and it was basically just what first came to mind. I'm honestly not sure WHY I did it like that. The two lines are to make it clear it's hair, and add the idea it's slicked back

In the new design, I made his hair protrusion thingy both longer and gave it less height. Most of that is me drawing it from what I remembered of the design, not what it actually was. I gave the ponytail a much less realistic gravity, and no hairtie to add onto the minimalism in detail

Pretty much the only thing I think I did decently here

I know Sacri already made her a human design, but I wanted to put my own spin on it, and I didn't want to have to make her bit too much of a big deal

Yes, her hair would've had to braids at the beginning of the series, and one of her chocolates being broken was replaced in my mind for her hair being chopped off

Necklaces are to represent that little circle thing on her wrapper, and the skirt is to represent that frilly crease thing

Her shirt was probably torn and repaired, and she just doesn't care enough to replace it, that's my take on the wrapper being ripped

How to spot a scammer in the loa/shifting/void communities. 🚩

I know that there are so many people desperate to see their manifestations come to pass, to get into the Void, or to shift to their DR, so these communities are easy-pickings for anyone who wants to financially take advantage of people anonymously. I'd like to talk about a few red flags that you should look out for when people begin offering their "services" to you for a fee.

1. They make claims that seem too good to be true. 🚩🚩🚩

"Your manifestation will come to pass in 3 days, guaranteed! And you can have ANYTHING, because everything is possible with God!"

To quote our Neville: "Every vision has its own appointed hour it will flower; if it seems long, wait for it – it is sure and it will not be late. Some things will grow overnight, and some things will grow in a week, then in three weeks, and then in a month, and some things will take years."

I want to say this loud and clear, regardless of what anyone wants to say about "limiting beliefs":

No one can "guarantee" that your manifestation will take place within a certain time frame. No one.

Everything has its appointed hour, and we have as much control over the "when" as we do over the "how." I'm sure you've often heard that you shouldn't worry about the 𝘸𝘢𝘺 a manifestation will take place, because God has a higher perspective than we do and knows the most efficient way to deliver it; the same goes for time frames. We hand God our intentions, and our part is done. Our manifestation is then delivered in God's way and in God's time.

A scammer would say that if I want to be a 30ft tall antlered cryptid with lasers coming out of my eyes, they'll make it happen for a fee, because anything is possible with God, right? And when I don't wake up in 3 days like Alice here, too big for my house... then what?

That leads me to the next red flag...

2. They leave themselves a loophole to evade responsibility for their wild claims when they predicatably do not manifest. 🚩🚩🚩

"You can have everything and anything you want for a small fee, guaranteed to be delivered within 3 days... 𝘢𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘮𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴."

Ahhh, well well... isn't that convenient? They're making outlandish promises that they can't keep, so when the manifestations naturally do not come to pass, they have a clever way to explain it:

IT'S YOUR FAULT, SUCKA!

After all, they did 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 part...supposedly. I mean, you can't 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘦 that they sat on their bum watching TV and eating Pringles rather than visualizing for you, or affirming 10k times, or whatever. And the people who would pay for these "services" are so insecure about their own abilities already (hence the whole reason the poor things are paying someone who's claiming to be an expert) that they'd probably think, "Yeah, I guess it must be my fault. I'm not good at any of this."

The scammer has now taken your money without taking 𝘢𝘯𝘺 responsibility for what they'll deliver. Think about how subtly manipulative that is: they can make ANY wild claim they want to, because at the end of the day it all relies on you correctly doing "𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 part." They're making you pay for your own labor and putting all the responsibility for the outcome on YOU! Pretty slick.

3. They advertise a low fee, but when you talk to them privately, the fee is much higher. 🚩🚩🚩

I recently saw this happen: when the fee was discussed in private, it went up to nearly 10x the advertised price! We all know that hidden fees and false advertising are dishonest; you might even say it's "Shady Business Dealings 101." If you get to the point where you're about to pay and suddenly the fee has gone way up, you're being taken advantage of.

4. They're very defensive and even rude when asked to explain themselves or elaborate on what they're offering, and delete comments questioning them. 🚩🚩🚩

People who are open, honest and professional don't do this. You should be able to discuss what you're paying for, ask for proof or testimonies, and submit general questions without being treated like dirt. Instead, they act like you should be grateful to be 𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘥 to pay them money. After all, don't you know who they are? They're an anonymous Tumblr blogger with many followers!

5. They don't offer a refund option if nothing ends up happening. 🚩🚩🚩

You should have some protection and recourse if you pay for something that doesn't work. Often with scammers, there will be no refund option; after all, if it didn't work, they've already stated that the responsibility is on YOU.

"But what if people get their manifestation and ask for a refund anyway?" This could happen, but I think it's very unlikely. If someone got good results - if their eyes changed overnight from brown to green or something, as they asked - they'd be RAVING about it to everyone and simply 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 money at the blogger for the next manifestation. They would not be asking for a refund.

Anyway, these are the really obvious red flags I could think of off of the top of my head. If you reblog this and can think of other red flags, please include them in your reblog.

Sadly, what happens in the end is that people transfer money, nothing happens, and then the scammer just stops replying to the person and that's the end of it.

It's awful to see people taken advantage of this way. Let's spread awareness about these red flags to prevent anyone else being manipulated going forward. 🩷

Episode 5, here we go! This episode is a roller coaster. It has some of the funniest gags in the series, but also some of the most heartbreaking scenes. I'm surprised at how many thoughts I had about the characters with this one.

The editing of the recap has me dying! Who decided to cut from Niko asking if Edwin wanted to kiss Monty to that shot of Charles from when Edwin was enraptured by him and then back to Edwin saying "I don't know"? I gasped when I saw that. Fantastic

Charles is leaning in for a kiss when before Crystal says they need to talk. No, my boy, someone give him a hug

I said it before in episode 4, but it's wild to me that there was apparently like no real investigation done into Brad and Hunter's deaths

The envelope with Niko's letter has the same stickers as her envelope with rent from last episode. As someone who also finds every excuse to use cute stickers, I find this amazing

For all of Maxine's glaring problems, she actually makes a pretty good librarian. Love that she greets Niko by asking if she's done with her reading. Also love that apparently Niko borrows at least some of her manga from the library (we love supporting libraries in this house)

Charles looks genuinely intrigued when Niko mentions having her own case. I really wish we had gotten to see more scenes with these two because they'd make an amazing team. Just imagine the chaos and good vibes of the two of them combined

I know the eight ball is supposed to be predicting her imminent death, but the "outlook not so good" fits really well with the outlook of the date. And it shows right after she says she's feeling lucky about her case, so, I think it applies to that as well (in a way, you could say it's predicting Maxine's death in the episode? Maybe?)

When they go to the dragon's den, Brad says people don't go there anymore because they miss him and Hunter too much, which is an interesting way to put it. Like, I understand why he'd interpret it like that, given the kind of people the two of them are, but still. It didn't click until now that that is most likely not what other students think when they imagine going to the dragon's den

Edwin looks so concerned about what a hand job is. Especially after Charles reaction, I'm dying

There is a genuine record scratch after Maxine mentions the nightshirt thing. I rarely pay attention to the background music in shows and music, so this one took me by surprise. It works really well with the scene, though, I like it

I know part of the reason this case affects Charles so much is because he's trying to tell himself he's not this terrible person because of his trauma and anger. But do you also think Brad and Hunter remind him of the guys he used to hang out with when he was alive? The ones who killed him? He looks really hurt when he tells them "you were cruel just for the shits", and I think it would make sense for him to be remembering his own friends' cruelty. Towards that other boy they were kicking and that he tried to defend, and towards Charles himself when they killed him. I think maybe in that moment he's remembering the way they laughed as they hurt him, how they cheered as he froze in the lake and tried to avoid their blows

Did they put eyeliner on Charles just so that his eyes would look all smudged every time he cries? Because it's devastating seeing him like that each time. And that hopeful smile he gets right before hugging Edwin? Ugh, my heart

Also in that scene, the way Charles nuzzles against Edwin's face during the hug, I swear!! Someone needs to give this boy like a thousand hugs right now

"I could smooth everything out again." This line breaks me knowing Crystal's backstory. Can you imagine her, letting David posses her because he promised to dull out all of this rage and hurt that have festered inside of her for years? And he does, he takes all of that and the memories and everything, but she's left trapped inside of herself, unable to do anything but watch him do as he pleases with her body. I think she should also get like a thousand hugs right away

Is Monty's ring a bird skull? Because that's adorable and very on brand
