Alphonso and Sloane both work for the Commission on spirit-wrangling or whatever it is the commission does. They're a bit younger than Five (Sloane is 22, Alphonso is 20), and are roughly equivalent to Agent Day, for anyone familiar with the original comic. Basically, theyre there to snoop.

Marcus has some kind of band kid rivalry with Viktor. I don't know enough about band to determine what it is, but rest assured that they are very passionate about it.

Paranatural has vampires in it! I don't know what the deal is with vampires in paranatural so i wasn't going to include any, but specifically Fei and Jayme as vampires won me over. They probably spend their time trying to kill sparrow Ben.

Umbrella Ben and Sparrow Ben are both in this au! They're twins :)

ok the stick story is this

according to The Hockey Media, who as we know do not actually follow any teams closely so know NOTHING, ovechkin was finally hit by father time. he's finally slowing down. he's a shell of his old self. he has old man syndrome. blah blah blah

as a caps fan, i know that this is false, because our russian machine never break. he's a freak. who btw had like 13 goals disallowed or something crazy like that in the first half of last season but i digress

gee i wonder why ovechkin's goals went down? is it because his longtime center and future hall of famer nicklas backstrom retired in all but name? is it because our other top 6 center in evgeny kuznetsov had by far the worst season of his career (from point a game to not even half a point a game) and then went into the player's assistance program before being traded to the canes and then bolting for the KHL?

actually, as it turns out: no.

i mean probably those were factors, but there was another factor. a factor that many caps fans are very aware of but almost no one reported on for some reason (probably because they were too busy writing about how SiDneY CrOsBy was having SuCh an AmaZiNg season for a 36 year old despite ovechkin literally having just as a good a season the year prior at the *checks notes* age of 36. also this is a reminder that one of those two actually led their team to a playoff berth and it wasn't crosby)

ovechkin is, among other things, an elite shooter. like many elite shooters, he is EXTREMELY picky about his sticks. he has been using the same CCM model for the last 7 seasons...and prior to this season they discontinued it.

the first half of the season (roughly), ovi was constantly trying out new sticks from CCM, from Bauer, whoever. he tried quite a few different sticks. results: 8 goals in 43 games.

then, ovechkin found an independent supplier. apparently (i can't remember where this info came out, maybe 32 thoughts?), these guys have an "ovi pro curve" model based on his old stick with CCM and he bought it and tried it out. curve was identical, and it felt right to him. started using those. results: 23 goals in 36 games.

am i saying that he is going to continue on that pace this coming season? probably not. do i think that the rumors of his demise as a goal scorer are greatly exaggerated and almost surely mistaken? yes. am i optimistic that with some stability in our center depth and stability in stick choice, ovechkin will have a 40 goal season again and possibly break wayne gretzky's all time goals record? YES.

what this means for PLD our beloved failhorse wife: he's not getting some washed up old man former great on his wing. he's getting the greatest fucking goal scorer in the history of the sport. and i, for one, am excited to see what they can do together.

now as for pony it could go one of two ways

hi anon. i know you're asking in good faith and i'm gonna answer in good faith, but before i do, i have to say it's kinda wild that multiple people interpreted "you're weird for shipping this" as "there is something deeply morally wrong with this ship" when i never actually said that. a ship can be bad without breaking some kind of moral or societal taboo, and i think more of you have to remember that. sometimes things just suck. sometimes you can just be a hater.

that said, here's why kabru/mithrun is weird. first of all one thing that really bothers me is the age gap. not literally of course, they're different races so comparing literal numbers means nothing; i mean in terms of maturity. here's a post about otta that i think is applicable: [link] the main relevant point is that you can roughly divide an elf's age by five to get a sense of how old they are in tallman years. mithrun is 185, and in tallman years would be about 37. kabru is 22, and that's just way too big of an age gap for me. like, it doesn't even fit into that "half your age plus seven" rule. again, before people get defensive, i'm not calling the ship """problematic""" or whatever bullshit. i'm just saying, personally, they're too far apart for me.

there's also the part where the canaries are milsiril's peers, not kabru's. kabru/mithrun would be like dating one of your mom's old coworkers. gonna link to another post here since i'm just repeating the same points they made: [link] this one's not as notable since it's not like milsiril and mithrun were besties or anything, just another thing that feels weird.

i wanna keep it vague, but June is roughly in his mid 20's matt is roughly in his mid-late 30's Marlow is roughly one year younger than June Morgan is two years older than June Hello is a year old (his AI is somewhere around June's age) Goodbye was a year older than June (now the same age as Hello) Rush is around 8 years old (his ai is early 30's) Wibble is around 6 years old (his ai is the same as Rush) Cammie is 4 around years old (her ai is the same as wibble and rush) Octavia is around 2 years old, but was technically never completed (her size makes it much easier to fit a more complex system in her, so her mental age is around 40) The skrittles have the same AI age as toddlers, but theyre a few months old Astro Cadet has been worked on off and on for about six years, and his ai is about the same age. It grows much slower than the WOW branded animatronics

Absolutely no in public things. He's gotten a lot more shy about performing since his band days. He only ever plays for hello/goodbye and piper

Soulmate marks are all about right time, right place. if you arent the version of yourself that would be soulmates with someone, no markings will show up. Morgan was a very different person with their last soulmate, and their life experiences changed who they are. it happens! people change, especially as they get older. its why a lot of people are told not to be upset if they dont get any markings until later on (SPOILERS BELOW) Its why samir and june didnt have any soul marks until samir was goodbye. he wasnt the person that wouldve been soulmates with june yet, he needed to experience and change and grow before that would happen. So did june!

June chews his lip a lot, and sighs. Sometimes he sighs for no reason just because he forgot to breathe. I think his favourite fidget toy would be one of those fidget cubes Hello stims by waving/flapping his arms, or playing with his hands. I think he'd enjoy fidget spinners or rubix cubes! Goodbye stims with squeezing/pressure. He'd enjoy weighted blankets, and I think he'd enjoy stress balls. Ones with thick stuff inside so he can really squeeze down

Hello likes it when June sighs in his sleep, or mumbles. Goodbye thinks its funny when he snores on occasion, and records it to play it back while pretending to nap. (taking inspiration from my roommate bc its hilarious, sometimes june will make the saddest, softest little sigh in his sleep and hello will wake him up like "WERE YOU HAVING A BAD DREAM ARE YOU OKAY" & june will be entirely confused)

June does a lil of everything. people in town come to him for a lot of stuff like yard work, painting houses/fences, cleaning houses. He occasionally comes into bryn's office and helps with anything they might need too, like fixing the chairs, etc. He's known as a jack of all trades around town (which makes him feel nostalgic, since that used to be what he called his childhood best friend)

Kitty update #2

So, Little Yene (or Yenne, the spelling really doesn't matter much) is doing very well! She's gotten comfortable in my room, eats a lot and lazes around all day like any cat would, she's adjusting very well

I figured I should tell y'all the story of this little critter

Sunday night my mom found her outside our home, from the story she told me Yene was under a car and almost run over, and when she was picked up my mom realized she was not a feral cat at all, she didn't run from anyone and didn't seem scared of people

It was gonna rain all night so my mom decided to take her inside, my parents never planned to keep a cat as we already have a large dog, not to mention a toddler and baby on the way- however! I have been wanting a cat for years, and Yene just grabbed my heart so I (somehow) managed to convince the family to keep her

The leading theory is that someone's house cat had her and she was abandoned, because she really doesn't act like a stray at all, she's not scared of dogs or people, and doesn't hiss at anything. She was completely alone when we found her so I don't know if she had any siblings

She is as comfy as a kitten can be, I'd say she sleeps 90% of the time lol, also to the people who gave the advice of a warm wattle bottle under her covers- thank you! It's doing wonders to get her used to sleeping in her bed instead of mine

there are many things that i question about tamb and constantly rotate in my mind. one of those things is why stella is the one elias specifically has beef with and not alice

like. not only is chise mortally wounded instinctively defending alice from a chimera, but when chise sneaks out of the house for the first time its to spend all day with her. and theyre actually roughly the same age. why is elias beefing with a kid chise had interacted with like, twice

mostly i think its to make him seem more childish which. was absolutely achieved. but i do have to wonder sometimes what narrative purpose stella is really serving

Okay going to continue my explanation of young: just us with an explanation of season one!

so since a lot of the early yj stuff was very secret focused, season one is focused on Greta. So after the series premiere, as documented in my first post about this, we come to episode five, where the team has their first encounter with Harm. During this fight, it is made very clear that Secret is uncomfortable with Harm but isn't sure why. The team isn't sure what to do and they're losing pretty badly, tim is being thrown around, cassie isn't doing all that much damage, bart is lying face down on the road, kon's ttk isn't doing all that much, all of cissie's arrows are being thrown back at her, he's dodging all anita's attacks and her powers aren't working on him, slobo got thrown into the sky and hasn't come down yet, shits hitting the fan. so tim makes an executive decision to book it and no one is complaining.

Episode six they have a parent teacher conference <3 this goes roughly the same as it did in the comics but +agent fite. yaknow how it is, silly goofy fun camping times with the kids, everyone ragging on bonnie, kon seeming vaguely suicidal, tim being paranoid enough to wear two masks. just some team bonding and a look in on their home lives (or lack thereof)

Episode Seven they have to deal with something unimportant and in the background kon's trying to catch cissie's arrows because he thinks he should be able to (this will be important)

Episode eight, they meet with harm again while stopping him from killing the pope (wtf was the point of this???? gonna use it anyway). And everyones starting to feel somethings fucking off when hardly any of their attacks are working. Only Secret's. Anita is able to do a tiny bit of damage but not much. So Cassie says run and they run. (tims still the leader but people listen to cassie)

Episode nine theyre having a pool day but most of the team runs off, leaving greta alone by the pool. She's looking into the water and starts to see things. A brother. A sister. A stereo and a bathtub. She's terrified. Immediately runs to go find the others and tell them she knows who Harm is, who she is. And she knows something else, too. Harm is dead and so is she.

Episode ten is a ghost battle for the ages with the others running around trying to tip things in greta's favor. It's working, but barely. She's only just barely winning by an inch. At the end of the fight, they disappear into a cloud of dust. No one knows what to do so after hours of waiting in silence they just go home.

And that's season one :)

Alright let me sell you on why I think Nahida and Scaramouche's dynamic is so goddamn fucking good

Imagine these two lonely godly beings who have mostly been neglected or traumatized for the hundreds of years they've been alive. Nahida, literally living in a prison for who knows how long while her people barely even recognize her presence cuz they think she's a shitty god, and Scara always feeling like he's an outcast, getting thrown out, betrayed, used or left behind his whole life.

Also, they both cope by trying to overcompensate. Nahida studies hard to gain knowledge fast so that people will think she's worthy of being a God, Scara tries so hard not to show emotions, even joined the fatui and schemed up some wack-ass, nation-ending plans just to get his hands on a gnosis, all to get the chance to prove that he's worthy of Godhood. Their difference is that Nahida internalizes her self-hatred, leaving her with low self-esteem and doubts herself in situations where she must speak to her people, while Scara's self-esteem issues is overshadowed by his louder and outward anger towards the world.

They both have varying degrees of self hate, and are lonely as fuck. Now, imagine how it must turn out if they both realize they're actually so goddamn similar? They will be able to understand each others' plights and help each other through it. They can literally learn so much from each other!

Also Nahida can finally have a playmate!! She has a whole box of DIY'd toys that she doesn't have a chance to use :(( and theyre both roughly the same age too, so that goes there!!

pickles: thinks he's a good kid. they stay out of each other's business for the most part, pickles is one of the least needy of the group so he doesn't ask for ilya's help all that much. they tag-team holiday dinners for dethstaff :) an amicable but ultimately surface-level relationship

toki: the most likely to ask for ilya's assistance with something ^_^ though most of the time it's like, coloring together or holding a piece of a model airplane still while the glue dries. they're roughly the same age but ilya is of course LEAGUES more emotionally mature than toki. he sees him the same way as his 16-year-old baby sister, whom he raised, and will treat him accordingly

mf: first thing he does is hit on him thinking he's a girl. small gay panic. awkward on only one side for the rest of eternity. toki is will's right hand man so he doesn't use ilya for anything other than a proxy for charles when he's too busy/lazy to get up and find him himself

skwisgaar: one of the only people she trusts to actually clean her room correctly.... plus theyre both trans and autistic so win. theyre gossip buddies sometimes, and ilya loves to remind skwis she's pretty :)

...jk it's a little deeper than that. theyre also both trans and autistic and enjoy hanging out in silence together (parallel play). keeping this description strictly non romantic since that's a whole other can of worms but yeah theyre buddies :) they share music/movies/books with each other and are emotionally in sync a lot of the time which nate appreciates. ilya has this aura that makes him very comforting to be around and they will soak as much of that up as they can without making it known that they actually enjoy his presence
