What do we think the chances of either an accidental or purposeful "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" situation are. Because El and Henward were allies once, and he still doesn't seem to want to kill her, even now he knows she's a threat to him (which...there's something deeper about that than we've been told, I'm certain of it). And even if it is accidental...it would still fit within that pattern of "we're different from each other, but not as different as we like to think we are". Vecward wouldn't be hesitant with the military, I'm sure. I'm also sure he won't be siding with them. That's 100% against his whole manifesto. They certainly aren't on his side, and they very much could present as big a threat to him as El [does]...they've dealt blows to the UD in the past, especially in ST2 with the controlled burns. I mean, I'd hate to see what napalm might do to the UD, if those lab torches garnered such a massive response. It would be in his best interest to eliminate the military, and fast.

Anyway the web is dense and I could go through each connection step by step, but I trust y'all to get the point: there's a theme of reconciliation, specifically between the characters who have heavy ties to the bible (El, Henry, so on and so forth).

If the characters want [insert problem] problem to go away, they need to stop fighting and reconcile...per the church sign, they specifically need to do so instead of relying on "normal" human means—which is, in the case of ST5's overarching conflict, the military.

-so what if Noelle actually become like near entirerly self-aware as a video game character through her connection to game creepypasta's anyhow in the weird route and realises that we are doing this to help her find dess and as such becomes the "angel" since angels tend to serve a god, which to a video character would be the player do you see my vision

-the way Noelle wants to find Dess paralleling the way we want to find Gaster

-the occult themes between Catti and Kris get explored more in chapter 4, possibly involving how the soul possesed Kris/kris's soul god hijacked

-Mike and Tenna are a duo sort of cartoony antagonist deal

-Burgerpants knight of or at the very least somehow involved in the making of the Icees fountain

-Temmie turns out to be this crazy conspiracy theorist about the mystery man and his eggs, like full on red string corcboard style. Like. They’re already connected to eggs. And a little, well, odd.

Fluke will die - he takes no responsibility for his part in anything, he's learned nothing.

Jin will live - he takes credit for his part in things (and I'm still not convinced he posted the video), he's learned and grown and still carries guilt.

Phee will live - He's the only one left who cares what Non would want, and is trying to be a good person.

Tan will die - he's diverged from righteous revenge to selfish revenge. He no longer has the narrative on his side.

Tee will die - despite feeling bad about it, he's done too much bad. He's likely going to die saving White.

White will live - White's an innocent, and as far as we know so far he's done nothing.

I was thinking about the theory of how the tmagp universe is ruled by desire instead of fears and how it does not neatly match up with all the statements. But what if the Fears from mag, after slipping from the mag universe, are now sharing/interacting/struggling against those Desires that already inhabited that universe? EP 8 especially made me think about that, both because the victim spends a lot of time talking about combining those two different categories from two different fields of study to explain his experience as well how it seemed like he ran away from Desire (the photography-like lights that reminded him from the favorite photo his ex-wife had gifted him) into the arms of the Fears. It would also explain why the avatars so far seem weaker than in mag. Anyway, sorry for the rant!

are the avatars so far weaker than we had in tma? the main difference so far seems to be that tma had a lot more Monsters, those that were never human - the Angler fish, Not!them, arguably Breekon and Hope, the Piper, all within the first 9 eps. The few avatars we got weren't all that more powerful than Protocol's, so far; Prentiss, some unnamed guy in ep 5; they killed a guy, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. So did our guy Needles.

So maybe full Monsters are rarer in this world? but yeah, that could be a result of a clash between Powers!

tho, to be honest for a sec, im not quite vibing (yet) with the Desires-instead-of-Fears angle. it's not really to do with its viability based on what we know so far, its more an issue of genre:

if Desires are powers in the same way the Fears are, that implies they could have Avatars-but-benign, Leitners-but-benign. And that would make tmagp into less of a horror, and more of an urban fantasy setting, where you can fight monsters if you just believe in yourself and want it badly enough. It only works for me if the Desire powers are still an aspect of the Fears, and like a genie, they twist the wish to have horrible consequences. and that does seem to be happening, a bit! But that would make the distinction between Desires and Fears less one of distinct kinds, and more just one of flavor.
