Tuesday, September 13th, 2005 10:39 pm difficult takes a day, impossible takes a week. oh no oh no. i don't get it but then i don't think i am supposed to. today woke up and bought my friend shoes cause she's rad and i like buying stuff for my friends. i am sick, but it's gonna be okay. i love going to bars with my friends and ordering 5 dollar sprites. yeah i'm that guy. right now i wish this was a lyric i wrote: "i dunno why other rappers try and dis you. cause even my superficial raps are super official". i'm supposed to be waiting by the phone but i'm always at front desk in the hotel lobby. i told my friend that i want to get super big bling jesus necklace- they said it doesn't make sense because im not super into jesus- but i told them that was the whole point. i sing the blues just for the covers of magazines. oh yeah. the rest of my day. ive been going out into the real world alot lately. the sun hurts my eyes but you're making me grin. went to joes house in boy's town- its like one inch big and filled with 80 million things. ebay says that my g.i. joe aircraft carrier is in the mail. but who knows cause i tell people shit is in the mail all the time. its like waking up from a dream and not being sure. for sure. our new video is pretty sweet. hung with the bestest. it feels nice outside. time to go play. i think i am going to be vegetarian again, then probably vegan. cause it just feels right. like you. all i do is watch thundercats and crush hard. what a life.

Welcome Mama and Papa on my protection list 😌 Everyone wants something from Babe, while he just wants to live freely. And Charlie out here trying to protect Babe while endangering himself. Just let them have their little family in peace.

9 ) Jeff from Pit Babe

Most relatable and smartest guy in the whole drama. Also introvert-no-touchy representation.

10 ) Fan Ze Rui and Bai Zong Yi from Kiseki: Dear to Me

One of the most underrated couples??? My siblings in hell??? Their insane plot, the angst, the bite kink, the height difference, the tension, the devotion, the lap sitting???

Okay, let's keep it at that. Those are all characters I defended already or am ready to defend haha. There are definitely more but these are my big ones atm.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Rewatch Part 3

Harrison Ford looks like he's genuinely having fun running around with Chewie and shooting things.

While it's hilarious that Finn's first instinct is to run, it's great that once it's understood that Rey is in trouble he actually goes not only into battle to directly into the First Order HQ. It's a great friendship especially with those iconic Rey's! Sad that's it's kind of mocked for being simpish.

Reylo - heart eyes - him appearing out the forest like a dark prince and freezing her. The bridal carry at the torn down castle. It's just a hint at what's to come but it's enough that you understand something is different about them. Fairytale vibes for real.

Finn "He took her did you see that. He took her, she's gone."

Han "Yeah, yeah, I know."

Finn stares after him stunned. haha

Finn he's a little preoccupied right now. He just saw his son with a girl, he's about his meet his wifey again after how long. Rey is like 5th on this list right now, while she's your #1

Han and Leia finally back together 1 hour 20 minutes in. Someone was mad.

Poe/Finn is a great bromance.

See Finn, Han did mention Rey to Leia as soon as he got other stuff out the way.

I love Leia as a leader. Side note: the sexism, yes sexism, Carrie faced for aging and gaining weight while Harrison ford is grey and Mark looks like a drunk is bull crap.

R2D2, 3PO Iconic.

Leia and Han scene about their son going bad is a great scene and you see the history and the love between them.

It might sound odd that with an interrogation scene Reylos said we're never letting this go - but yes, that's how it is. So many things are fascinating about this scene. How long has he sat there and observed her? He's kneeling as opposed to standing over her. He refers to her as his guest. He doesn't like her friends, but tells her he doesn't know where they are.

Kylo Ren "You still want to kill me"

Ren "That's what happens when you're being hunted by a creature in a mask."

Kylo Ren reveals a handsome dark prince look literally made for vaginas

Rey: Girl, same

It's also canon in this scene that their force bond is made her and they both feel it. Read the books. Honestly, the chemistry here really is great between them and the dialogue. Daisy Ridley is a great actress having to act while strapped to a table. She just doesn't get the credit.

Poe Dameron is the kind of fighter you want. Brace, fearless and rowdy.

Han "Ok, how do we blow it up. There's always a way to do that." Love Han! You need people like this around in the midst of crisis.

I wasn't an OG fan and I didn't grow up with Star Wars so I don't have the attachment to the OG3 but this was a touching scene.

Han "What was your job when you were based her?"

Finn " Sanitation"

Han " Sanitation?! Then how do you know how to disable the shields?"

Fin " I don't. I'm just here to get Rey

"Han "People are counting on us. The galaxy is counting on us."

This exchange, them kidnapping Phasma, the whole it's great.

Yes Rey, put those scavenger skills to use and climb.

Rey: "Finn, what are you doing here?"

Finn "We came back for you"

Chewie: Roaring

Finn " What he say?"

Rey "He says it was your idea."

Suffocating hug. Honestly, you want people like Finn, Han and Chewie to have your back. Yes people! Please come and save me and don't leave me like a Martyr.

Oh it's hurts to know that Han and company had escaped and only went back in to help the resistance.

Aww Finn gave Rey his jacket and....... then got the jacket back in the next scene?

The infamous scene

Adam Driver and Harrison Ford had a lot of ground to cover in this scene since this was literally their only scene. You had to not only believe in their history but care about it.

Whatever good will this movie built up it just squandered it for the OG fans. Not only killing Han but not putting Luke, Leia and Han in a scene together. Yeah, it's down hill from here for these fans.

*Reylo criticism* he pushed her into a tree! To defend himself cause she was about to shoot him.

Yes, it's stupid that Rey beat Kylo Ren. If she fought more streetwise which is something she was used to then that would have made more sense. I don't care that he was wounded, spiritually fucked up and already fought Finn. Scratch him? Yes. Outright beat him? No.

*Reylo criticism* They fought. He mostly played with her honestly until she got the jump on him.

!Reylo Moment! You need a teacher! He's got a soft spot for her.

!Finnrey Moment! Rey watching over Finn. "We'll see each other again. I believe that. Thank you, my friend"

This planet is called Ack-Tu? I think. Anyways it's beautiful. Rey don't go back to Jakku I love a desert as much as a scorpion but there's greenery, water and fresh air here.

Disney plus has special features?! Wow.

Overall, a pretty solid film for a new fan.

first i thought ''haha, kotoko thinks theres smth between this woman that came out of nowhere and her dad but actually she's just a friend''

then the familiarity repeated and i was a bit sceptical and after a bit i thought "hm, could there actually be smth here..???''

then i thought ''ah, ma-chan is the third wheel in this, irie and aihara are so close, look at them hug and talk'

but the obvs shots like them touching hands got me like ''okay this adaptation has smth to tell me''

the eavesdropping scene where they are overly close and the dad only comes in later for example was scandalous to me lmao at around that time i started thinking of them as a throuple that kotoko's mom got in the way of

that feeling cleared out a bit but then

when ma-chan talked to shige how she needs them there cause her family doesn't need her i was reminded of how they're evidently together a lot while her husband is always working, at the table he's absent; so that felt like dangerous territory to me

but i thought ah whatever whatever he doesn't see her like that AND THEN IRIE FLAT OUT CONFRONTS HIM AND HE CONFESSES??? which means that all those times he was supporting her and talking to naoki so he treats his mom better, it was all with those feelings as a motivator and like idk i dont like it i dont like it at all, i mean hes a good man and the relationship of the three is great, but still..''i also have kotoko's mom'' - not a sweet nickname or anything, they don't seem to speak fondly of her, the irie family don't seem to have had any particular warm feelings toward her...and on top of that, kotoko and her dad never talk about her.. so i feel bad for the nameless mom

i wonder if ma-chan is aware of shige's feelings, im pretty sure she's not oblivious when it comes to love and she was a beauty back in hs so she knows her charms and the way they affected shige as well

which makes me think of shige as kin-chan, ma-chan as kotoko and irie as naoki and i think that's intentional

ma-chan is liked by two guys, she chooses the shy one and the other becomes a chef; the difference is kin-chan and naoki do not have anything near the bromance irie and aihira do lol

but this gives a new meaning to shige's words that kotoko is not good enough for naoki - he sees his child (him) as no match to naoki (irie), the cant compare (because irie won at the end) OR naoki is ma-chan and he wasn't good enough for her; and when he encourages kotoko to go for naoki it could be interpeted as him reliving his hopes through her (she can be good enough, she can get the prize - in which case kotoko is, yet again, shige but naoki is ma-chan in any case);

idk i find this fun to think about because i hate it :)

That's a tough one because my guess is that in real life, there's not a lot of these guys that I'd be friends with (in part, they're babies to me haha, but I also suspect that a lot of them tend to run way more conservative than I am). From everything I hear, Sid is just a super kind and classy dude, so that could be nice. The piano playing goalie? He's a cutie! I'd like to shake the hand of Travis Dermott because I think he did a really brave thing. I'd like to just sit at the rink and watch some of these tops guys do their thing. I'd love to have a pissy bitch session over beers with Draisaitl.

More than being friends, I really wish the NHL would hire me to coordinate and create mental health and wellness programming across the league. That would be a fun job haha!

Hi!!! First of all, sorry for my English, I know it's not perfect but I hope I can write in an understandable way! I was browsing and came across your blog! I have read almost all of your posts and asks about acotar!

I'm not a huge fan of the saga (I have a huge struggle finding female characters I like or at least wouldn't want to see dead lol I guess it's the fact that 99% of the time there's always romance involved and I hate romance! In fact, I was very amazed when despite not being crazy about her character, I almost never found Freya annoying, even her relationship with Rhys didn't bother me that much, and especially when reading the book I fell in love with Mor! A very strange thing, I read a lot and the female characters I don't dislike I can count on the fingers of one hand), I read it because I was looking for books with a strong bromance and a friend of mine (madly in love with Freya and Rhys) suggested Acotar to me because of Rhys, Az and Cassian and I must say she was right, I liked the three of them very much, especially Rhys and Cassian, my favorites (with Mor). Although, I admit I would have liked to see a little more about their relationship; I appreciated the fact that the nightmares Rhys had were about the fact that Cassian or Az might suffer the same fate he had suffered in his fifty years of captivity, the fact that when Cassian was wounded in acomaf he was aware of the urgency of healing his wings because he would rather die than live without them, or again when in acowar he told him that there was no debt to repay when Nesta had proposed to be bait and Cassian agreed. I was wondering, since from what I have read you understand Cassian's character very well, if you have a favorite moment of yours between the two and if there is anything you would like to see between the two in the next books.

P.S Since I'm not a fan of Nesta (understatement) I didn't read acosf, because loving Cassian's character I was afraid that it would make me dislike him (and because I had/have a bad feeling that he will end up at the point where he has to choose between her and his family and the very idea makes me furious and sick. But feel free to do spoilers, I haven't read the book but I obviously know what happens)

And then one more thing. I don't know if I can ask you this (I think I understand that this kind of question you prefer to be asked on the other blog, however while I'm at it...) but if you know of any, would you like to suggest some other books/saga where there is a connection like the one between the bat boys? It's what I prefer to read, but I have a hard time finding books with a strong bromance component to read.

I have read almost all of your posts and asks about acotar

First, I commend you on this because oh my god, that's a lot of content to sift through haha

I love that you love Mor! I love her too, even if sjm has basically written her as an incomplete character thus far. We got so much info about her in acomaf-fas, we even got her POV, and now nothing but the tension between her and Nesta in acosf? SJM has dangled all this stuff in front of us about Mor and then just left it as big question marks. She has said she is excited to write Mor's story, so I am just hoping that comes before I hit retirement age.

I am finishing up my acomaf reread today and I just love the IC so much in that era, I totally understand why you love the friendship between Rhys, Cassian, and Azriel. Cassian and Mor is my favorite brotp (still) but I love the idea of those three guys supporting each other through all these years and knowing each other so well. There are some things in acosf that make me question their friendship so maybe you shouldn't read it, idk. I don't think that, if you don't like Nesta, then acosf would make you dislike Cassian. From what I've seen, people who really love Nesta ended up disliking Cassian in acosf. I prefer Cassian to Nesta, without question, and acosf didn't make me like him any less.

I had/have a bad feeling that he will end up at the point where he has to choose between her and his family

This definitely happens and I think that readers don't realize that he is so torn between his brothers and his mate? Nesta and Rhys do not get along and so that puts Cassian in an awkward position not infrequently. There are no good choices for him when Nesta and Rhys butt heads. Imagine if your partner and your family were clashing, it's awkward enough but then you're at the beginning of your relationship, your partner is dealing with some mental health shit, your family is dealing with world ending shit. It's a lot.

For your question about what I hope, I hope that Cassian and Nesta are able to find a balance in their relationship. That would mean her respecting his relationship with Rhys and Az despite her feelings towards Rhys, and him choosing her over them on occasion and standing up for her. I don't see how their relationship (Cassian and Nesta) could honestly last unless they find a way to balance the fact that Cassian's best friend/brother and his mate hate one another. Something's got to give. My favorite scene between them thus far is still the end of acowar when he thinks he is going to die and says he wishes they'd had more time.

For books with a strong bromance, that's an interesting question! I'm not sure if these count, but the first one that comes to mind is The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet. It's not bromance per se, but it does focus on friendship a lot! Then The Gilded Wolves revolves around a friend group. There is some romance in that one. If you are into graphic novels, Rat Queens has great female friendship, but stop after the third volume. There are also great friendships in the Mistborn trilogy! I feel like I should start a "friendship" shelf on my Goodreads so I can keep track of them, that was a hard question. If anyone else has recommendations, feel free to leave them!

Ahhhh I have like over 25 OUAT fics now?! When did that happen?!

Hmm… I think one of my favorites to write was Firsthand (a Neverland oneshot) cause it felt like the first true OUAT fic I wrote when I got into the fandom and it feels really nostalgic to me because of that :) and I also really loved writing Hell to Pay (Underworld fic), Don’t Let Go (White Out divergence) and Begin Again. Those I wrote out of emotions I was really feeling with at the time (and Don't Let Go was a SS fic so it reminds me of Christmas and the fun I had writing it!) so it’s like I put everything I was feeling into them, and whenever I look back on them it feels like a sort of time capsule in a way. 😁❤️

3. New ideas:

Ahahaha too many! Sadly I have a very serious case of Lack of Muse(TM) going on right now, but I do have a very long list of both half written and unwritten CS stories to write haha. In addition to hopefully finishing Lost and Found in January haha, here’s some:

- a canon divergence where Hook was in Neverland the whole time s1 and s2 were going on and when Henry gets kidnapped and brought there he lands on Hook’s ship and Hook gets the chance to right the wrong he did with Bae

- A Tangled OUAT arc, like, as if the show had done one canonically ;) (obviously imagining they would have gotten Zach Levi to play Flynn). Also imagining a bromance between Flynn/Eugene and Killian😏😆 However I also had ideas of Killian and Flynn adventures in the Tangled world soooo lots of Tangled things? Hahaha

- a story bringing Emma and David closer as father and daughter 🙂

Those are 3 of what looks like 30+ I have here lol but I don't want this to get too long 😂

Again. Once-a-fucking-gain. Katsuki was hard at work. Kirishima had simply aided Katsuki in a surprisingly powerful villain attack- even though everyone knew Dynamight had it under control. But Eijirou's help...made it easier to take down the villain- NOT that Katsuki needed his help in the first place.

The villain landed a hit on Katsuki and he flew into a pile of concrete and wooden rubble, and the next thing he saw was Red Riot, unhardened, nearly body slamming the guy into a wall, digging his forearm and elbow into his neck and his knee between his legs. TOP 10 BLS of 2021; The highest of highs and the lowest of lows

Ehh… Wasn’t exactly sure by the end of the year 2021 I would have a list for this haha, it seemed for a while that I wasn’t actually as pleased or obsessed with the bls produced, plus there was an automatic drought that occurred for months from channels like GMMTV and Channel 3 but even that couldn’t be an excuse because they managed to produce more than 2 shows this year that all were completed and filled with good quality. At the end of the day I realised the problem was with me, I was going through a huge bl fatigue and I was refusing to open my mind to seeing any chances of change, growth or evolution of the genre. The year started of with a bang and somehow it felt like to me it slowly festered in the middle, all of a sudden I couldn’t forgive the disappointments from some shows I wanted so badly to be good, and I couldn’t quite move on from the ones that had already stormed through my heart and set a throne for its self. It was hard. Luckily 2021 was a roller coaster of emotions, with highest of highs, and lowest of lows, with despairing disappointments but immense signs of change and transformation slowly occurring throughout the genres.

The companies were serious this time, probably due to winners of last year (ITSAY, Cherry Magic and so on) and they decided to follow where the trends laid, they decided to make things more heavy, more serious, filled with higher quality and efforts, and they decided to make BLs mean something? This year has been surprising to say the least, last year I wrote a whole rant and manifest piece on what I would like in BLs and what must change and to be honest this year did that, and yet still knowing it did that with some shows they still left me feeling unsatisfied and unaffected, WHY? Anyway I’m not going to focus on the negatives of the past, I want to focus on those little gem stones in this genre that stood out and are going to make others work harder to get our attention in this highly competitive category. And I am forever grateful for them. Let’s begin

Ranking is done in two ways, first a ranking in terms of position on the top 10 list to me (1st to 10th place) and the second is ratings from 1-10 with 10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest when looking at quality, story, acting and more.

Word of Honor

Surprise? A Chinese Bromance as my number one BL? Are we actually shocked? Sorry to cut it short, this show is a master piece despite it’s flaws and lacks, it is so good, it’s written with immense passion, love and effort, it’s thought out and filled with so much respect and awe from everyone on the team, but the story was such a shock, surpassing censorship and making us squeal, cry and think. I loved these characters so much, I have never thought there’d be a day I’d see a tv show surpass it’s adaptation source but Word of Honor was incredible and deserves this spot.

Taiwan you did it again! Lin Pei Yu, you came back and did it again. And words can’t explain how grateful I am for this show. This show means so much to me and like it shouldn’t even be that deep and it’s just a typical generic bl; nothing special, nothing different, it’s romantic and it’s sweet but it’s funny because in its simplicity, WBL has so much effort and thought put into its writing and analysing this show feels like it could take ages because it discusses everything that people deal with in reality with this genre, especially as we start to grow and learn about ourselves. It calls out things too, it adds representation that BLs normally lack. I mean I would say it has its flaws like how not all the side couples are thought out fully but it still holds an array of characters that I hold dear. This show isn’t a simple thing to watch on the surface, if you do that you see it as just a simple BL and you miss the subtext and planning and story telling and mirroring and foreshadowing that was below that. It was already great as a simple bl story, and filled with incredible talent and chemistry from Taiwan as usual. The two parts of the series stand out to me so much and they all together deserve to take this place.

Mo Dao Zu Shi Season 3 (Donghua)

Ahh my baby is finally over and omg another MDZ era completed, now I just have the manga left to read and complete. But the way this show suddenly became on of my favourite adaptations so far? The first two seasons were censored with a vengeance but the third season saw my three couples having moments, that were good and grand and made me bawl my eyes out, like the WangXiian wedding subtext scenes, or just the happy ending in general?? It was everything, and because MDZ is one of my ultimate bls, I appreciated the talent that went into the animation and made it what it was. I will miss my WangXian but it’s okay because TGCF owns me next year so ha… I don’t really have a lot to say about Chinese adaptations, it’s not really bl as usual but it was perfect for me knowing the story and having memories with the whole journey of this story.

A Tale of a Thousand Stars

I don’t actually think this should shock people as I have videos talking about the magnificence of this show, podcasts for hours detailing all the clues and depth in this show and long and short essays written for this show. I gave a lot of my heart to this show and I still love it to be honest. It’s difficult for me because it’s been put here on this list but I do love the other shows below more currently and there were times this show felt disappointing at times; its incredibly slow pace that at times became too much to bare, and my minor issue with how it wrapped up towards the end. I don’t even think this show is rushed, or lacking in terms of completing it’s goals in its story but it just felt empty to me at times, there were moments where this couple felt real and I adored them, and times where I felt oddly distant by the love they were professing, and yet I can’t explain why I feel this way which is why you don’t see me discussing or reblogging a lot about this show anymore. At the end of the day I still think this show is its own masterpiece and deserves to be called that for this genre, that’s why I have given it the number 3 spot on this list but to be honest if I was asking my self if I’ll rewatch or add this as one of my favourite bls overall then the answer will be no. What a shocking twist I never thought I would say that when I was watching this show at the start of last year, but 2021 was full of surprises and being weirded out with my lack of love for this now? Yeh that’s a huge one

I mean you just can’t go wrong with this cast, you can’t go wrong with this production and for me you can’t go wrong with Backaof and Bad buddy is the compilation of all that is BL when BL is good. I mean it truly is. It’s fluffy, sweet and angsty but it feels right. The acting is incredible and the characters though dimensional and flawed at the start. They go through the best development and have the best arcs ever. Pat is one of the best BL characters ever. Nanon has floored everyone and I’m just like not surprised at all, it’s NANON. Anyways yeah, these two are good. I don’t have a lot to say about this show, it’s great, episode 5 was iconic and worth it and it’s amazing. Is it in my top BLS overall? No not really, well not as high on the list as everybody else, but I get it and I appreciate everyone on this show so much. Also this show proves again how BL should not be put in a box and how it can grow and evolve and mean more to the community; it tackles offensive stereotypes and has discussions about every real life issue without feeling too preachy or shoe horned. Well done to GMMTV for letting this show do its thing. The GL element as well added to this show and the dimensional side characters are also plus to this masterpiece of a show. And personally for me the Romeo and Juliet literature template makes me feral because I obsess over meta and allegories and shadow characters so I adore it so much. I want more BLs based on fairytales or Shakespeare here’s hoping for something in 2022.

NOT ME

Am I really adding a show that’s only aired three episodes into my top 10 over the others? Yes. Yes I am. No but are you shocked? Um OffGun, have a chokehold on me. I mean I haven’t really thought about it like Yes I love Theory of Love more than anyone else and it is my ultimate but it wasn’t really because of them? It was because of the director and story telling and the meta and themes and the growth of every character. So I always wondered if I was possibly biased to these two because of that show since with PickRome wasn’t in my radar like that, and there were times even though he is my bias I have judged Jumpol harshly on his acting and felt confused by it. But to be honest it doesn’t matter anymore because NOT ME wipes that all away. It is OffGun that have me in a chokehold because what they choose to do is excellence, it’s talent, it’s amazing. I don’t care if others don’t think so, don’t care if I’m exaggerating, I just… this whole year I struggled with TV and felt worried I wouldn’t be able to find something to spark my passion but these two showed up and knocked it out of the park in just three episodes??? And it’s not just them because NOT ME is so much more than that, it’s everyone involved in the show, all the couples have me in a chokehold, all the actors surprise and make me breathless with excitement, all the writing, directing all of it! I honestly can’ t and I know it’s scary to give myself to this show because with BL, anything can change in a couple of episodes but I trust my gut with this show, I trust my intuition that this show is it for me and I trust that OffGun are going to blow my mind away with their performance. I am immensely biased with this show and I’m happy for once to feel that way.

My Beautiful Man

Japan you did it again! I was worried that you wouldn’t but you did! As much as Keita Hatsukoi was everyone's favourite, I actually like with ATOTS disliked it a lot at times; I understood what people saw in it, I understood the analysis requited and I even found it cute. I got why people felt truly happy watching it after all last year Cherry Magic was one of my favourites but um KH was my guilty non-pleasure and I felt bad saying it, till MBM because like what? Japan continues to stun me with this genre, they’re the origin after all, but it’s the way that all their bls are well thought out, filled with depth and heart, even with the messy storylines and MBM was just incredibly directed, incredibly written and it blew my mind how good it was? It was filled with subtext, you had to focus on below the surface, the characters were all so human and real and flawed and the story makes sense in its own twisted way. I love the growth of both the characters and episode 6 is one of the best endings to a bl this year, perfectly done with the angst and pent up longing and so many misunderstandings because these two idiots couldn’t communicate what they felt for a while. Requited but they don’t know; my actual favourite trope. The only reason this wasn’t in my top 3 is because it’s not long enough and I wanted more episodes damn it! I wanted it to have as many as Cherry Magic sigh… But it’s okay it was still perfection in its own way.

Korea

To be honest Korea was disappointing with BLs for me in 2021. I know there are some favourites here and there for others but for me they didn’t affect me that way. I can’t accept Korean Bls easily because I know Korea can do better and greater and I think they’re starting to be lazy and trick people into being compliant with lack of quality that they berate Thailand and other countries which are trying, for. I give Korea a lot of love and awe because I know what theyc an do with their writing, media and acting. I know what BL can become from them and for me it’s not enough to be okay with minimum leftovers they do for BLs, I think 2021 is pretty unforgivable for Korea with the standard they set BLs at, and that’s my honest truth. However some stood out and so I added them to the bottom of this list I will explain why.

Light On Me

LOM is one of the shows that I feel conflicted about. Cause like I love triangles, and I like some dimension to my characters and I like enemies to lovers but I don’t normally enjoy it the way Light on me does it. Though Shinwoo’s unrequited struggles was funny and angsty to see. Daewon went through it and I enjoyed watching growth and acceptance at the end. I just wish it was more? But I’ll give light on me props. Ost is great, story was structured well and love triangle was done alright I guess. Lol see this is what I mean when I say Korea wasn’t it this year, this is not how I should react to Korean show that I like. I don’t know but I had to do a top 10 list and LOM for effort, heart and happiness it brought gets to be here. I want longer Korean BLs Korea, and I want good writers and better directors and I know it’s unfair to put this standard on you but I know you can do it and when you do it we will lose our minds for now I’m over this short could be more storyline concept of BLs in Korea. Seems because of success of LOM we could get longer and better adaptations next year I can’t wait.

Ratings: 8/10 ( I did love it more than the things that didn’t make it on this list but I wish it could have been more)

Color Rush

Oh nooo not the show that I wrote so much about and obsessed about and was in love with at the beginning of 2021 taking last place. Gasp. No I’m really surprised by this too, but after so much this year I think Color rush is complicated for me. Again it has everything I want in a BL; allegories, meta, depth, and it has flawed characters who grow and understand their mindset and it’s fantasy? Like I should be obsessed but it’s short and underdeveloped and ahhh Korea why. Sigh… Color rush makes me feel similar to how I feel about My beautiful man but where it needs more episodes and length but with MBM despite that I got everything I loved, and I felt the chemistry and I felt satisfied at the ending, with Color rush I know it will do more in season 2 ( I am excited about this and delusionally believing it’s going to be angsty as fuck and have a love triangle building) but it didn’t in this season. It had good moments, a great source for its origins to adapt from and it had mystery and fantasy as well, it had the potential and everything to be incredible but I felt the acting at times could have been better only at times, and I also felt dissatisfied with many moments too. Sigh I want to love and praise this show the way I do the others, but I must be honest, this is an example of a BL if done right with length and more quality, that would make Korea surpass everything in this genre, but it’s limited by this Korea Bl thing, and so we suffer knowing this. I get why we have short bls, I get that people are still putting effort but I just think it’s unfair to this genre, I can’t praise unfair or let it be hidden or gotten away with when I know Korea will make BL big one day. If they think what they’re doing with BLs in 2021 is enough or right I’ll be disappointed, it needs to grow and evolve so I’ll keep letting my frustrations show.

Ratings: 8/10 ( Potential is there so much potential, but it’s hard to let it pass when if it was a het show I wouldn’t even flutter an eye lash towards its direction.) Rank: 10th Place

Druck Season 7; Isi

Ehh… So I had already completed my list of my top bls of 2021, and I couldn’t find something for number 10 that I felt comfortable and truly happy to say was in my top, and then I watched this season of druck despite my unforgiving vendetta against Skam nowadays, and I was obsessed. I mean people aren’t happy with this season at all, all I saw from the fandom was negativity to the whole structure and story, and it made me look away from this show until I had no BLs to watch in the week. And I was craving new content. I am so glad I decided to watch this show, because I thought it was great. I understood the issues with the writing and the confusion from the audience who felt bamboozled in the story and felt like it was rush and missing moments, but I still loved it. And I normally hate slow burn ships, (because I like passion) but Isi and Sascha were incredible, I loved them both. Isi was so flawed but seeing their perspective made me understand and also get why they were who they were. I loved that they were POC, I enjoyed the Turkish representation, and I liked the Non-binary conversations and moments in this show (even if there should have been more) but I adored the dynamic they had with Lou and others even if at times it felt toxic. But Isi was always in a toxic situation before the show started, this was about them getting out and seeing and understanding how bad it was with Consti. And I’m happy they’re finally free. As for Sascha, he was incredible, he wasn’s as dimensional but he had his own personality, his own voice and his own calming presence. He was like a breath of fresh air each time he showed up, a ray of light and warmth for Isi and I enjoyed his angst and his perceived unrequited feelings so, so much. I loved how they got together, because I always thought Isi had feelings for Sascha from the start so I wasn’t surprised as much as others who needed more proof or evidence that he felt that, since he was always looking at Lou on the surface more romantically. Ehhh. I loved it, it was requited but they don’t know for these two and when they did know it was angsty, brilliant and it led to lots of good scenes. Anyways I really enjoyed Druck and I thought it was great, I had fun with these two, not surpassing past skam couples but they did what they were meant to do for me, they were great and tackled Isi’s skam (insecurity and discovery) well.

This year I’ve been a mopey mess and I’m disappointed with a lot of things, however these are just my opinions, it may be controversial with the masses and might seem incomprehensible but it’s how I feel. I am biased a lot to lots of things but I still focus the most on quality and writing and potential like ATOTS is a masterpiece and it needs to be treated like that but it’s not my masterpiece and NOT ME feels clogged with plot holes on the surface but to me it’s wonderfully everything I wanted from this genre so yeah I am very biased with my opinions but I won’t apologise for it. This is how I felt about media, I hope 2021 gave you better experiences and 2022 is going to be filled with many, many great shows. I can’t wait to talk about it with you all on here. I will have a list on the shows that didn’t make my top 10 but could have if not for some stuff. Just because I write a lot about a show and analyse the good parts or potential doesn’t mean I enjoy it or like it like Don’t say no or Lovely writer and that’s my thing. Let’s hope for shows though that we all are obsessed with and I do love and feel satisfied with like with 2019 shows but even greater this year. Happy new year.

About your last post about Ferrari filming Lando, it makes me laugh every week when Ferrari start their weekend off with one of their driver challenges and their social media is like 'look at the bromance between our drivers!!!!' and then every week without fail when they release their weekend recap you can see that by Sunday they've just given up and are like 'okay fine, here are our drivers with their actual besties' and it's Charles & Pierre and Carlando every time

Haha Anon you are so right! I was wrong in the first part, seems it was Netflix in Ferrari team wear I saw following Lando but in the previous race recaps of both Ferrari and McLaren you see them including scenes with their besties and their comments on social media have changed a bit I feel. I love how the teams are supporting each other and their drivers in general.

It's Ferrari going 'oh hearteyes at the Carlitos, they've got the best bromance' and then you've got Charles talking about his mates (Lando and Max) and mentioning that his bond with Pierre is special but then seeks out and sticks to Pierre while Carlos is easy going, lovely with everyone and really wants to set up a bond with Charles, he always drifts towards Lando.

You can tell Carlos tries to stand with Charles to be a team but even then his eyes go to Lando talking to someone else, he checks up on him constantly (everytime they crash my heart skips a beat and my stomach drops, imagine what they go through) and he catches himself too, turning his back to Lando but then we see the same happening with Lando sneaky glances and lost puppy moments, their chemistry is different, the way they look at each other, the easy touches, them being protective, and possessive even, of each other and it's not words. Not a social media post or challenge.

It's their body language and facial expressions in unguarded moments and that never lies. It's Carlos and Lando falling in step next to each other, somehow touching an arm, a hip, hands,... (don't get me started on Lando's full hand on Carlos' private parts as he aimed high enough to know those weren't the priceless eggies xD and Carlos immediately knowing that was Lando).

They are each other's touchstone, they ground each other, make each other happy, there's incredible trust there. To put yourself, and all your broken insecure private pieces, into someone's hands and trust them completely to support you, take you on, laugh at the same jokes, see you for who you really are and being pushed into high stress situations and still have that bond and be at home with each other...that's special. Especially for someone like Lando who is good at it with his selective few but the way he holds himself and completely let's his guard down around Carlos he does only with Carlos (in the F1 world that is).

The way Lando proudly stated he was the reason Carlos opened up more, people finally saw how funny and loving Carlos could be and Lando takes pride in that. Carlos changed when he met Lando, for the better, they made each other better human beings. That's just....❤🧡

Carlos really likes Charles and they are adorable and he would be there for Charles whenever he needs Carlos but Carlos and Lando love each other in indeed a soulmate way and I really hope years from now, they will still nurture that connection and be the crazy loving uncles to each other's children (if they choose so, I support asexual, aromatic or peeps finding strength in being single or polygamous, not wanting children, whatever makes you happy) or still go golfing together, meet up for dinners, visit each other and their families.

Gosh I really jumped into the future but yeah thank you for coming to my Carlando tedtalk, onto the next raceweek and many more moments that make them and us smile 😃

The Number One Rule. Chapter 18.

Summary: Y/N has always been seen as “Steve’s rambunctious sister.” However, she grew up, graduated, and moved to London to study abroad for 4 years and get her bachelor's degree. The girl that returns looks nothing like the teenager that left, but don’t worry the attitude is still there and stronger than ever. What’s to come of the two grown adults that used to push each other's buttons, but now have a lot more in common than they’ve ever realized.

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Y/N Rogers (Steve’s little sister)

Chapter Eighteen:

“Good morning, Sunshine,” Steve chuckled, bringing his mug to his lips as his sister walked in with a sleep ridden face. She gave him the silent bird before moving to the coffee pot. “I see your morning self hasn’t changed.”

“What are you still doing here? I thought you would have left for work by now?” Y/N asked with a tired voice as she walked to the fridge for creamer.

He had ended up staying the night and sleeping in his old room that had been transferred into the guest bed. Him and his sister had been up late talking and catching up.

“Eh, I’m going in a few hours later since I’ve been doing overtime recently,” Steve shrugged, leaning back and watching her sit across from him. She was wearing a giant T-shirt and some old pajama pants that she tiredly tried to straighten from their disheveled state. “What’s your excuse for not being ready for work?”

“I don’t have to be there until 9 today,” she answered with her eyes closed.

There was a comfortable silence as the two sipped on their coffee and Steve read the newspaper. Looking over he saw her practically falling back asleep in her seat.

“I guess I need to talk to Bucky soon…” He spoke up. Her eyes opened at that and she turned to him.

“Yeah?”

“Yeah. I mean now that I know the case, and now that I know you’re both happy, I don’t have a right to be a jackass anymore I guess,” he shrugged with a smirk.

“I’m glad you came to terms that you were a jackass,” she chuckled, punching his arm playfully. “We’ve been waiting a few years on that one.”

“Hey, I can call myself a jackass, but you watch yourself,” he warned in a light manner.

“Sure thing… Jackass,” she mumbled with a smile. Before he could start an argument, she diverted the conversation. “So, should I warn him, or-?”

“I don’t care. We have different shifts today, so I’ll see him tonight probably and talk to him.”

“Ok, then I’ll let you do the talking. I would warn him yourself though. He’s been a nervous wreck around this topic with you. Anytime he thinks about how we’ve hurt you, he gets upset and really anxious,” she explained more seriously.

“I mean, I don’t blame him. This was a shitty kind of situation to go through, but mom was right. Neither side of the problem was handled well,” Steve sighed. “I’ll text him before.”

“Good,” Y/N nodded. “Want me to come?”

“No, I think we need to talk ourselves,” Steve sighed. “If you know what I mean.”

“I get it,” she nodded standing and grabbing her mug. “Well, I’m going to get ready for work. Mind if I come over tonight though? You know, when the coast is clear? Maybe we can all have a movie night like back in the day! Becca and Sam are invited too,” she pointed to him.

“Sounds like a plan. You’re paying for pizza though. Since you have an adult job now, it’s only fair,” Steve said with raised eyebrows.

“Hey, I-”

“You owe me,” he cut her off.

She glared at him for using the given past situation as a way to get free food.

“That’s low, big bro,” she deadpanned.

“Don’t act like you wouldn’t do the same thing,” he scoffed with a smile, going back to the paper in front of him.

“Touche,” she nodded with a pursed lip. “At least text me when I can head over, so I don’t interrupt you guys' bromance session.”

“Shut up,” he groaned as she left the room.

Once Y/N got to work, a few hours into her shift, she got a call from Bucky.

“Hey, B,” she smiled through the phone as she went through the loads of papers in her hands.

“Hey sweetheart,” Bucky replied just as sweetly. “Guess who texted me today?”

“Hmm, Barack Obama?” Y/N responded. “Wait, no! Michelle Obama.”

“Haha, very close, but no,” he chuckled. “You’re brother reached out.”

“Is that so?” Y/N faked surprise.

“I’m guessing you guys' conversation last night went well considering your chipper mood?” he questioned. “Or they went horribly wrong and you’re just a really good actress.”

“We all know I can’t act even if my life depended on it,” she laughed, changing the phone to her other ear as she wrote some notes on a paper.

“It’s true. You’re a horrible liar,” Bucky confirmed.

“I’m not even going to argue it no matter how much I want to,” she shrugged. “But I would say things went well. I mean we may or may not have gotten into a wrestling match on the front lawn, and mom might as well have dragged us by the ears inside to have a civil conversation, but besides that…”

“Oh God, Y/N… What the hell happened?”

She just knew he was pitching the bridge of his nose on the other end.

“Nothing too crazy. It’s just sibling fighting,” she waved off.

“At least tell me you gave him a chance. You didn’t beat his ass too much, hopefully. You know we’re trying to win him over, not push him further away, right?” Bucky had a smile in his voice, clearly just joking around.

“You know? Kids’ gotten stronger since middle school,” she noted.

“I would hope so. He fought in a war and chases bad guys for a living. Can’t have scrawny middle school Steve doing that kind of stuff. He’d get a nose bleed just looking at the wrong guy.”

The two laughed for a little reminiscing at little Steve before he bulked up in high school. But after some joking, Bucky brought the conversation back where he started.

“But in all honesty, I shouldn’t be too worried about tonight?” he asked. The nerves in his voice were clear to Y/N.

“No, Bumble Bee. We talked it out, screamed it out, and fought it out. And in doing so, we had a good conversation. Thank Sarah Rogers for keeping us on track and not letting us walk away until it was resolved,” she assured, putting his mind at rest.

“Ok, good…” Bucky sighed on the other end. A moment of silence went by as if he was trying to process it.

“Hey, I know you guys still need to talk, but I do want you to know that it’ll be all ok in the end. Don’t get too worked up about it,” Y/N said softly. “26 years of being best pals can’t be ruined by this little bump. You said it yourself.”

Bucky let out a breath and nodded. “You’re right. It… It’s just, I hate that he found out how he did, and…” he paused. “It just kinda sucked seeing him that upset.”

“I get it,” Y/N nodded on her end. “But hey,” she added. “We’ll all be ok. Truly.”

“I trust you, doll,” he grinned. There was some distant talking on the phone and Bucky humming. “Hey, I have to go. Boss needs me for something. Call you later?”

“For sure. Have a good day, and let me know if you need anything!”

“Right back at you. Love you, sweetheart,” he slipped out the last part unconsciously.

There was a moment of silence as the two were stunned. Neither had said the “L” word yet… At least not to each other…

“Uh,” Bucky stuttered out. “I-I-...”

“Buck-,” Y/N started in just as much shock.

Another round of someone shouting on the other line that wasn’t Bucky came through through the phone.

“I have to go! Talk to you later,” Bucky shouted into the phone.

Before she could say anything else, the line ended and she slowly pulled back the phone seeing her lock screen blank. No words came out after that.

She just stared at the screen where a picture of her Bucky, Becca, and Steve all were embedded in a bear hug together. An old picture, but one that she always loved and cherished with a group of her favorite humans.

She also loved it because even though it was before Bucky and her had become an item, they were squished against each other. Bucky was smiling wide and caught in a laugh as he looked down at her, catching her from stumbling to the ground, and she was laughing as she gripped his arm to find her balance. Steve and Becca laughing on the side at her clumsy self, and the fact someone was always having to help her stay on two feet. Bucky having always been one of those top people in her life.

She smiled down at the memory and couldn’t help but feel those little flutters move from her stomach to her chest and eventually make her cheeks heat up.

Now he had two things to freak out about. One being Steve and his talk tonight. Yes, he knew he didn’t really need to after Y/N’s reassurance that things would be fine, but still. It was a strange conversation to have with your best friend.

“Sorry I fell in love with your sister and hid it from you. My best friend of over a quarter of a decade. Not to mention you found out from me coming out of her room half naked after you thought she was home alone...”

Yeah, that was going to be weird no matter how ok they were now…

Then you add in, he just casually told Y/N that he loved her before hanging up the phone. He didn’t mean to. It just felt so natural in the moment!

He wanted to make the first time he said it special, not just by accident…

God, his heart was racing and now he had four hours left of his work day to let those things just stir around in his head. Great. Maybe that 3rd cup of coffee wasn’t that great of an idea.

“So, everything’s good with you guys?” Sam asked after Steve let him in on everything.

“Yeah. I mean Buck and I still need to talk it out, but… I don’t know. I can’t be mad if they’re both happy at the end of the day. Happiest I’ve seen either of them in a while, if I’m being honest,” Steve shrugged with a small smile.

“See, I knew that’d be the case at the end of the day. I tried telling Bucky that,” Sam shook his head as he finished up the dishes. “And sorry man about not saying anything. I didn’t think it was my place to,” he apologized.

“No, I get it. This was their own thing. You were just being a good friend to Bucky and letting him figure this out himself,” Steve waved.

“He’ll be home in a little. You worried?” Sam asked, washing his hands off.

“No, if anyone’s nervous it’ll be Bucky. Y/N and I had a really good talk last night. No matter how upset I was before, I now know where they were coming from,” Steve sighed. “Did I agree with it? No, but we all have different ways we would go about things.”

“True facts,” Sam smiled. “Well, I’ll hoard myself in my room for a while until the coast is clear. Let me know if you guys need anything, ok?”

“Got it. Oh, and Y/N said she was going to come over after with pizza for a movie night, if you want to join,” Steve pointed out moving to the couch.

“I’m here for it,” Sam nodded, going down the hall to his room. “Call me when all is resolved.”

Steve nodded and plopped down on the couch skimming through the channels as he waited for Bucky. About 15 minutes later, he heard the lock turn and quietly the brunette made his way in with caution.

“Hey,” Steve said softly, turning from the end of the couch.

“Hey,” Bucky said with a soft smile as he put his things by the door.

These were the first words they had spoken in over 2 weeks. They hadn’t talked since the whole fight in the backyard.

“How was work?” Steve asked, making small talk.

“Nothing too crazy today,” Bucky shrugged, walking to the back of the couch with his hands in his pockets. “Oh, Lillian asked about you again.”

“From accounting?” Steve asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Only Lillian I know that’s obsessed with you,” Bucky laughed lightly.

“God, I’m not ready for that…” Steve returned the chuckle.

It got quiet after that. Not awkward, but not comfortable either.

“So…”

“Listen, Bucky,” Steve sitting back in his chair running a hand across his face. “I’m sorry, I punched you after-”

“Don’t be. I deserved it,” Bucky waved him off, coming around the couch slowly to sit on the opposite end.

“Ok, yeah. You’re right,” Steve nodded with another small laugh. Again another pregnant pause. “I gotta know. Why didn’t you just tell me, Buck?”

He took in a deep breath before answering. “I’m sure Y/N told you, but we didn’t want things to have a bad falling out and it be awkward for everyone else-.”

“No, not that. Why didn’t you tell me that you weren’t going to do it from the start?” Steve interrupted.

“What?” he asked, confused.

“Y/N said that you guys went back and forth on not going through with this because you didn’t want to hurt me. I mean, maybe that’s not that big of a deal, but it changes things on my end some,” Steve explained. Bucky just sent him a blank stare. “What I mean is, when I first figured everything out, I was hurt because I thought you didn’t even consider me in your decisions. I know, it sounds selfish, but-”

“No, it doesn’t. You’re a part of the equation to some extent. Just like Becca is. But surprisingly Becca was excited and not freaked out about her best friend dating her big brother. It’s a little different being the big brother in the situation though,” he said softly. “It’s not selfish though Steve. If the roles were reversed and say you and Becca dated, I would hope you considered my feelings in the matter too.”

Steve was glad that he understood what he was getting at. He was worried it wouldn’t make sense or make him look like he thought the whole thing revolved around him.

“Yeah…” Steve paused. “But you didn’t say anything about that when we did get in that fight. Why?”

“I don’t know… I guess I just wanted you to understand my feelings for her more than anything. I needed you to know that she wasn’t just some girl I was hoping to hook up with at some point.”

“I know you would never do that Buck. No matter how upset I was, I still don’t think that low of you,” Steve sighed. “And about that… I’m sorry I said you don’t deserve her… That was an extremely hard hit to the gut.”

“You were looking out for her,” Bucky said with pursed lips, but the pain from the past comment was clear. It didn’t feel good having your best friend who's been through thick and thin with you tell you weren’t worth something.

“Yes, but that was a low blow and I said it out of hurt feelings. I was hurt, so I wanted you to be just as hurt. That wasn’t fair,” Steve concluded. “If there is anyone in this world that I trust to take care of Y/N just as much as me, it’s you Buck. I was just blinded by anger.”

“Understandably,” Bucky nodded, looking back at his friend a little less troubled.

“Understandably,” Steve agreed. They stared at each other silently communicating. “I’m sorry.”

“If anyone is sorry, it’s me Steve,” Bucky shook his head running a hand down his thigh still slightly anxious.

“How about we both agree that we didn’t handle this situation the best way,” Steve smiled. “I should have seen how happy you two were and not second guess how it happened. I shouldn’t have made it about me when you both clearly are what the other needs.”

“Steve-”

“Truly. You guys have been glowing the last two months with complete and utter happiness and I was so oblivious to pick up on it. I feel like a shitty brother and best friend.”

“You’re not a shitty brother or best friend. Not in the least,” Bucky said scooting to the edge of the couch. “You know that.”

“Y/N tell you we got in a fight on the lawn yesterday?” Steve asked with a small smirk.

Bucky chuckled. “Yes. Said your mom about beat your asses out there too.”

“All because I was too stubborn to talk it out,” Steve shook his head while he threw it back on the back of the couch.

“Eh, you said it yourself. We all didn’t handle this situation well,” Bucky chuckled. “She kicked your ass, didn’t she?” he said after a second.

“Wouldn’t say that, but she must have worked out over seas because I couldn’t pin her like I used to. She was giving me a pretty decent fight,” Steve laughed loudly.

“God, I would pay money to have someone get that on tape,” Bucky laughed with him.

The two soaking up the now comfortable atmosphere.

“So we’re ok, right?” Steve asked. “Leave all out petty, stubborn, and stupid mistakes in the past?”

“I’m fine with that if you are,” Bucky nodded.

“Good. I’ve missed having my best friend around. I was getting tired of ignoring you,” Steve sighed, patting Bucky’s back.

“You gave me good practice with your stubbornness for Y/N. Not that I haven’t been practicing with you both my whole life, but damn you guys are too bull-headed monsters.”

“We feed off each other's energy,” Steve shrugged with a smirk.

“I know, it’s exhausting, yet entertaining all at the same time,” Bucky smiled as he moved his head side to side.

A knock sounded at the door and they both turned toward the wooden panel.

“Speaking of the devil,” Steve smiled standing up.

Bucky froze.

Shit. One anxiety had been cured now, but he had almost forgotten about his second one...
