oh also one thing that i realized just now: qbagi’s initial suspicion over what’s happening to qphil being tied to the federation is technically not wrong
you know what drew qphil’s deities’ interest to him and quesadilla island? the birdcage. rose said in her earliest message ”I could sense the bleeding heart of the one I once knew, far, far away”. the deities noticed qphil had disappeared, and maybe they were curious to know what had happened, but the thing that drove them to find him was rose’s want to help him. and if she really was the one that freed him from the cage (and it’s heavily hinted she was), that birdcage undeniably was the thing that launched all of this into action.
how the enderking figured out that qphil had been weakened? we don’t know, maybe he sensed it, maybe he had already been observing him, maybe he noticed rose leaving to look for qphil, it doesn’t really matter. what does matter is that the trauma qphil got from being locked in that cage is what gave the enderking the perfect opportunity to strike. and is what led us to where we are now in the story. so even thought the federation isn’t ultimately the one tormenting qphil right now, it can still all be traced back to them and their continual abuses of power :)

It's so funny to me that the fandom has come to see Hirano as a Sasamiya promoter of sorts because while he is, it took him some time to get accustomed to the idea of them together. And while he was never a hater Sasaki's actions towards Miyano certainly used to get on his nerves.
At first he was so worried and probably even felt a little guilty because (as mentioned in the following screenshot) because the only reason why Sasaki knows which class Miya is in, is thanks to him.
But like, that's not the face of a friend that's happy to play cupid and get their two acquaintances together. Not at all, that's the face of someone who puts his sempai-kouhai relationship with Miyano over his (pseudo) friendship with Sasaki.
Hirano from the first chapters would have jailed Sasaki if he were allowed to. (And he has his reasons, Sasaki has been something since the first chapters)
Anyway, the progression of events is really interesting.
He started, quite literally, shielding Miyano from Sasaki.
Then, he came to accept their relationship.
And at the end he really was rooting for them, to the point he ended up outright lying just so Miyano could meet Sasaki and they could talk it out and confess.

Who is Firecracker a parody of?
For the longest time, I thought it was kind of weird that the writers decided to give Homelander a new girlfriend to replace Stormfront. Isn't the idea that Homelander becomes a worse and worse person with each new season?
As horrible as Homelander was in season 1, his behavior and actions then seem downright tame in comparison to what gets up to in season 3 and 4.
So it seemed weird to me to gave him a new girlfriend in season 4, ‘cause it’d be pretty hard to create a significant other for Homelander who could conceivably be worse than Stormfront, a literal, straight-up nazi.
But then it hit me.
Firecracker starts off as a right-wing podcaster à la Stephen Crowder before she jeventually gets promoted to being a Tucker Carlson-esque news anchor for VNN.
Now, is there another female comic book character who is famous for a career in news and mass media? A character who was also romantically involved with the very same character that Homelander that is meant to be a parody of?
That’s right everybody, Homelander is officially the first evil Superman to score his very own evil Lois Lane!

while i’m on this topic. to anyone with “freaks dni” in their bio, do you know the history of the word ‘freak’? do you know that it came into common use because of freakshows, which largely showcased disabled people (specifically physically deformed people) and intersex people? do you know that to a lot of folks, even today, “sexual freak” is a direct synonym for “person who has consensual sex with someone of the same gender”? are you aware of the subjectivity of the word you’re using, and the historical (and current) hatred behind it, and the fact that people cannot read your mind and will not know what random groups of ‘disgusting’ people you’re talking about just from a single broad-purpose word?

do you think serge has any idea the extent of power davey wields? like. obviously there's the joke of how worked up he's getting, just for the reveal that davey's a local business owner, and that stands on its own bc mayview is supposed to be this peaceful little town where nothing ever happens. of course davey being a local business owner rich enough to buy up an entire hill is going to be a big deal, what possible reason does he have to come to the school? but given how many different factions there are, and just how many people are in the witch/death cult/vampire alliance, there's a non zero chance that he has a family member in there and knows that davey is planning on bringing about change. and soon.

76 - The End of a Lie
It lies leaden in your hands, heavy with the memories of childhood bilss and broken promises. It was part of you, once - it was you, in fact. And then, for such a short, sweet time, it was someone else.
Now it is no-one; an empty crown with no brow to sit tall upon. No comfort to be found there anymore; only silence and a void where a kindly smile should reside.
Dreams die all too swiftly upon waking, felled at first light, unmourned and forgotten. But this dream did not go gentle - it kicked and screamed, clawed for purchase in the creases of your mind as it fell to its fated demise. It still hurts to think about, a bleed on the brain that may never be staunched, a wound which no kiss may ever close.
You choke out the words again, hoping that this time there will be a response, and everything will be back the way it was. Through the veil of your tears you think you see him stare back at you, a cruel trick of the uncaring light. You take him to your chest, as if your mutinous heart's frenzied beating may bring the vital spark of life back to him, as if the beautiful fiction he represented could ever be retold or reborn.
But it is gone now, and he is gone with it. Never again shall you hear his voice, the sweetest nothings they imparted. Nor shall you feel his warmth encircle you, absolving you of all discomfort, no matter how slight. The world seems sharper, harsher, in his absence, and it stabs at you without mercy.
And yet you must proceed... you must, with nothing but a piece of dead plastic to remind you of what once was, and what can never again be. For the world cares not for lies, no matter how exquisite they are.

THOUGHTS ON VR SUN?!?!??
SAL SHAKING YOU BY THE SHOULDERS TYSMSMSMMSMSMSMS FOR THIS ASK NOW I GET TO GO GHRGHVETRGGHREG!!!!
Spoilers for Help Wanted 2 Below, and in my tags, so be careful!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEE THAT HE IS SO MEAN!! It makes sense in my opinion!! I don’t think it’s 100% canon, but it’s still great to see! It’s also veryveryveyrveyr close to how sun behaves in my fanfic SO IT’S PERFECT SFHUIGEWHIUGHU But I do genuinely really like how he’s portrayed! I think it’s important that they’ve shown that Sun was never designed to take care of children: hinting back to the fact that both Sun and Moon were made to be performers! I really hope we get to see both of them whilst they worked in the theatre at some point in the next game???? OUGUHHHGHGH THAT’D BE SO VTBGERHGHG BUT YEAH BIG FAN BIG FAN!!!!! EATS HIM
