Hey! At first, I want to say that really adore your essays. I found your blog shortly after I joined tumblr and it was a great beginning.
My question is not only about Loki. Few times you mentioned that queer subtext always existed in cinema. So I wanted to know more about it. Are there any common tricks which artists use? How can we know that it isn't just our imagination?
And if you could give some literature recommendations on this topic I'd be thrilled :)
Hi Anon!
This is a really important question. I’m so glad you asked it, so I’ve bumped you to the front of my inbox queue.
Superhell (Destiel). Superheaven (Aziracrow). Supertime (Lokius). It’s not an accident these types of tragic queer endings are a pattern in our TV media. Though of the three, Good Omens is the most likely to deliver a happy ending eventually, the resources I provide below contextualize why queer subtext and queer tragedy persists. I believe the paper on Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is a particularly important read as it sheds light on tragic queer tropes and utilization of queer subtext from the 1950s that persist to this day.
I do need to clarify a few things:
1.) I’m not a formal scholar. I don’t have a Master’s, let alone a PhD. I would love to continue my education, but I only just finished paying off my student loans. This is to say, most of what I’ve learned is from self-guided reading, watching documentaries, and talking to literary and cinematic professionals and members of the LGBTQAI+ community.
2.) Subtext exists in all forms of art: literature, music, painting, sculptures, film, and so on. There is no 1-to-1 definition of what subtext could be because subtext, by its very definition, is the communicating of information and/or a feeling without communicating it directly. It’s also important to remember that we use subtext in everyday life without realizing it.
3.) It’s necessary to share foundational resources in order to provide a greater contextual understanding in response to your question. The resources I'll be sharing, which will go from broad foundational to specifically queer subtext in cinema, are as follows: A.) Using JSTOR, B.) Linguistics & Subtext, C.) Film History, D.) Queer Subtext in Literature, Theater, and Film.
USING JSTOR
JSTOR is an incredible academic journal article resource. You can sign-up as a user and have access to up to 100 articles per month online for free! If you don’t feel comfortable creating an account, you can also visit your local library, who more likely than not have a JSTOR membership.
When searching for articles, I recommend using these keywords: queer, homosexuality, subtext, literature, film, history.
LINGUISTICS & SUBTEXT
Pragmatics
-- Jerome Bruner’s “Pragmatics of Language and Language of Pragmatics” (Available on JSTOR; Published by The Johns Hopkins University Press)
-- Kristin Borjesson’s “The Semantics-Pragmatics Interface: The Role of Speak Intentions and Nature of Implicit Meaning Aspects” (Available on JSTOR; Published by Armand Colin)
Iceberg Theory and Theory of Omission
-- Silvia Ammary’s “Poe’s ‘Theory of Omission” and Hemingway’s ‘Unity Effect’” (Available on JSTOR; Published in the Edgar Allan Poe Review)
-- Charles J. Nolan, Jr’s “‘Out of Season’: The Importance of Close Reading’” (Available on JSTOR; Published in the Rocky Mountain Review of Language and Literature)
-- Paul Smith’s “Hemingway’s Early Manuscripts: The Theory and Practice of Omission” (Available on JSTOR; Published by Journal of Modern Literature)
Implicature
-- Catherine Abell’s “Pictorial Implicature” (An important read as it provides academic context on interpretation of the visual medium, which is connected to interpretation of film; Available on JSTOR; Published by The American Society for Aesthetics)
-- Eric Swanson’s “Omissive Implicature” (Linguistic study on implied communication through omission) Available on JSTOR; Published by University of Arkansas Press)
-- Jacques Moeshcler’s “On the Pragmatics of Logical Connectives” (Published in the book: “Aspects of Linguistic Variation)
Exformation
-- David Foster Wallace’s “Laughing with Kafka” (Yes, the same writer of the book, Infinite Jest! A quick 4-page read that explains exformation in literature using Kafka as an example; Available on JSTOR; Published in Log by Anyone Corporation)
-- Stephen J. Burn’s “Reading the Multiple Drafts Novel” (23 pages; can be a slog to read, but it addresses the issues of “canon”; Available on JSTOR; Published by The Johns Hopkins University Press)
FILM HISTORY
Generally, I recommend looking up Hollywood History pre-code (Hays Code aka the Motion Picture Production Code from 1930-1967). Notice that the code’s abandonment was gradual in the 60s, which was when the U.S.’s sexual revolution occured. The MPAA Film Rating System went into effect in 1968.
Sin if Soft Focus: Pre-Code Hollywood by Mark A. Vieira
Available in hard cover on Amazon (looks like there’s only 1 copy left); no digital version that I can find. You may be able to find this at your library.
Forbidden Hollywood: The Pre-Code Era (1930-1934): When Sin Rules the Movies by Mark A. Vieira
Available on Kindle. Similar to Vieira’s first book but considered inferior.
The Celluloid Closet: Homosexuality in the Movies by Vito Russo
Published in the 1980s, a groundbreaking work and the first of its kind. It’s dated but still considered critical reading.
Screening the Sexes: Homosexuality in the Movies by Parker Tyler
Available in hardcover and paperback. This is also considered critical reading to be paired with Celluloid Closet.
Images in the Dark: An Encyclopedia of Gay and Lesbian Film and Video by Raymond Murray
Available in paperback on Amazon (1 copy left); likely to be in the library as well.
QUEER SUBTEXT IN LITERATURE, THEATER, AND FILM
Queerbaiting and Fandom: Teasing Fans through Homoerotic Possibilities
The first book of its kind, published in 2019. A must-read as contributing articles include analysis on Supernatural, Sherlock, and Merlin, among many others. I highly recommend reading the entire book, but it is expensive. You may be able to find this at your library.
My recommended articles from this book:
-- Joseph Brenann’s “Introduction: A History of Queerbaiting” is critical to understanding the Loki series specific place in queer fandom and media history.
-- Monique Franklin’s “Queerbaiting, Queer Readings, and Heteronormative Viewing Practices”
-- Guillaume Sirois’s “Hollywood Queerbaiting and the (In)Visibility of Same-Sex Desire
-- Christoferr Bagger’s “Multiversal Queerbaiting: Alan Scott, Alternate Universes, and Gay Characters in Superhero Comics”
Fandom: Identities and Communities in a Mediated World
About half the price of Queerbaiting and Fandom but significantly more broad in scope.
My recommended articles from this book:
-- Cornel Sandvoss’s The Death of the Reader? Literary Theory and the Study of Texts in Popular Culture
-- Derek Johnson’s “Fantagonism: Factions, Institutions, Constitutive Hegemonies of Fandom”
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight (Reading of epic poem recommended)
-- David L. Boyd’s “Sodomy, Misogyny, and Displacement: Occluding Queer Desire in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight" (available on JSTOR; from Arthuriana published by Scriptorium Press)
Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray (Reading the novel recommended)
-- Jeff Nunokawa’s “Homosexual Desire and the Effacement of the Self in ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’” (available on JSTOR; Published by The Johns Hopkins University)
-- Ed Cohen’s “Writing Gone Wilde: Homoerotic Desire in the Closet of Representation” (available on JSTOR; Published by Cambridge University Press)
-- Sandra Mayer’s “‘A Complex Multiform Creature’: Ambiguity and Limitation Foreshadowed in the Early Critical Reception of Oscar Wilde” (available on JSTOR; Published in AAA: Arbeiten aus Anglistik und Amerikanistik)
Tennessee Williams’s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Reading the short story [“Three Players of a Summer Game” and stage play and watching the film adaptation highly recommended)
-- Dean Shackelford’s “The Truth That Must Be Told: Gay Subjectivity, Homophobia, and Social History in “‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’”. (A must-read, in my opinion. You see a lot of patterns that continue in our subtextual queer stories to this day, concerning since Williams’s play was written in the early 1950s. Available on JSTOR; published in The Tennessee Williams Annual Review)
I hope these resources are helpful and interesting to you! Happy reading!

Flags Week 2k22 ✨ Day Six
Flower Shop
Photographs
“Did you get my note?”
Tumblr media
Nakahara Chuuya was many things all at once.
An university scholar, a star athlete, and a flower arranger who works for the best flower shop in town, Flags Flower.
Everything was going well for him, really. Everyone loved his flower arrangements; he’s been praised and scouted professionally for his athletic accomplishments; his grades were flying sky high. Until that one time when he nearly ruined a wedding celebration he was invited to arrange flowers for, after clashing with a young photographer, Dazai Osamu— who was coincidentally the transfer student that was supposed to be his new roommate.
Everything just goes downhill (?) in Chuuya’s life from that point. He’s no longer the top of his class because Dazai now owns that position. In fact, His grades were slowly fluctuating downwards as the semester rolled. He blames it all on Dazai— the nerve of that guy to distract him from his studies in their shared dorm! He’s got this whole theory that Dazai is doing it all to drag him down and take the title as the top student for himself. The list of evidences are as follows:
Exhibit a) Dazai’s terrible taste in music blasting everyday, along with his god-awful singing voice that would play on loop inside Chuuya’s head for the rest of the day— an absolute hazard to the ears and the brain and the heart.
Exhibit b) Dazai challenging Chuuya to ridiculous competitions: who makes better meal combos, who’s the last to fall asleep in movie marathons, who doesn’t shed a single tear over heartbreaking animal documentaries, who could wear the same outfit better— etc etc. (seriously anything stupid could be competitive enough between them)
Exhibit c) Dazai actually having study sessions with Chuuya in the library. Note: DAZAI OSAMU WEARING A PAIR OF UGLY GLASSES WHILST FULLY CONCENTRATED ON HIS READINGS AND NOTE-TAKING, ALLOWING THE SUNLIGHT FILTERING THROUGH THE WINDOW TO PAINT HIS FIGURE IN A SOFT GLOW. UGH. WHO COULD EVEN STUDY IN FACE OF SUCH A HIDEOUS SIGHT.
Even in his matches, Chuuya’s starting to feel more mental pressure in his games as he sees Dazai taking photos of him from the crowd of spectators. (“For the school paper,” the Mackerel says)
What’s even worse is that Dazai frequents the Flags Flower Shop for his photoshoot projects. They even end up photographing and flower arranging in the same event more than once.
That menace Dazai Osamu has literally bleed into every aspect of Chuuya’s life. Chuuya could swear that it was getting bad for his health when he was starting to feel his heart rate and blood pressure spiking up whenever Dazai was around or simply mentioned.
Of course, he needed an outlet for all these bottled up frustrations (?). He could trust his long time friends and guardians, the Flags, with these troubles. Ranting to them everyday about his mackerel of a bastard of a roommate was his only coping mechanism. (Along with writing poems but that’s no one else’s business.)
What he did NOT expect, was the betrayal of the Flags when they manhandled and imprisoned him inside the flower arrangement room, taking his cringey love poems (how did they even get that!?) and placing it into the bouquet of flowers Dazai ordered— absolute betrayal! Absolute humiliation! He will never forgive them for this!!
-
Later on he did. He even thanked them after getting himself a boyfriend.

Chapter 1
11:34 PM
Friday, October 24, 2025
Kingston, New York, USA
It’s been 4 years since the events at Hackett’s Quarry—4 years, 1 month and 29 days, actually. In that time, all of the counselors had drawn away from each other, settling into their own lives in different states, colleges, careers. Though some kept in touch, there were those who rarely reached out, preferring the lonely solitude and self loathing over the worry of their friends and the guilt that came with it.
One such person was a man, now 23 years of age, by the name of Ryan Erzahler. Ryan had decided against college shortly after leaving Northkill County that August. Instead, he settled down in a small town not far from where his Grandparents and Sister still lived. The recluse took to online animation—specifically graphic design and online comic strips. He was incredibly talented with art—not in the same way Abigail Blyg had been, with her inept eye for detail and skilled hands—but rather with his storytelling. He could spend hours on his tablet or computer writing and drawing strip after strip after strip, publishing full comics by the end of every week. With his talent came a very large income—one that was able to pay his bills but also allow him some much needed freedom. He, by no means, was poor. Despite this, Ryan struggled with motivation. Even 4 years later, the events that took place that one night lingered in his mind. When he closed his eyes he could hear his old friend Dylan Lenivy screaming in agony in the radio hut, or Nick Furcillo’s howls and snarls before he transformed in the pool house. He could see his dear friend Kaylee Hackett’s corpse floating in the pool, and the surrogate father he’d had, Chris Hackett, dead on the floor of his own house. He could feel the bite Laura had left in his left forearm burn, feel the shotgun still warm in his hands. He hated it, yet he felt guilty. Guilty for the lives lost. Heartbroken that his friends had to suffer. Ashamed that he couldn’t protect them from the events that which had altered all their lives completely. It haunted him, ate at him from the inside out, turned him into a quieter shell of himself, tucked away in the shadows of his home.
Despite living the way he had, Ryan wasn’t alone. Another such friend lived nearby, in the same city, in fact. 24 years old and struggling to stay afloat in this world she’d grown to loathe, Madison Brinly—Max Brinly’s older sister—took up homage in a small, shallow, dead end apartment complex on the sketchier side of the city. She worked three jobs, one as an assistant at the local library, another as a drugstore clerk, and the third as a DJ/remixer at a nightclub. She rarely slept, spending most of her time working or in some way moving, her mind always on alert. Her talents were musically inclined, but after that summer she never pursued them—at least, not professionally, like Ryan had. No motivation, constant paranoia, the inability to even be in a public space without becoming likely to have an anxiety-induced seizure—all of these things prevented her from feeling safe or even normal. If she wasn’t working, she was tucked away in the window of her apartment, vape in hand, beanie over her hair and flannel sleeves pulled loose over her wrists to had the scratches she’d left behind. She felt empty, lost, broken, destroyed by something she once loved. She blamed the world for her problems, a desperate attempt to stem the self hatred she’d gathered over the years for her inability to protect her brother…the brother she hadn’t spoken to since December of the same year everything occurred.
Sharing the same city, you’d expect the two to cross paths. They rarely did, and even so, the maximum effort to acknowledge the others existence came down to a simple nod in their direction. They didn’t talk, nor did they reach out to the others. It was painful enough with the nightmares, and the constant texts from the group chat they’d never had the heart to leave. Ryan had even brought himself to the brink of tears once, thumb hovering over Dylan’s contact, before he gave up and tossed his phone across his bedroom. Madison had done the same, except whilst reading through her brothers private messages begging her to at least respond, worrying whether she was okay, fearing he’d lost her and he’d never know.
Both of them crossed paths for the first time buying new phones the next day.
After that fleeting moment in the apple store, the two frequently saw each other out around the city. It didn’t matter where they were or what they were doing, Ryan and Madison crossed paths daily. At first, they ignored it, pushing it to the back of their minds and moving forward with their lives as they had before. Then, the two started to give the other greetings, a soft ‘hello’ and wave, a smile here and there. Two months after that, they finally gave in. Whatever fate or the universe or coincidence had planned, they couldn’t stop it, so they embraced it.
Ryan was the first to step out of his hermit shell, sending a simple text to the redhead. ‘Want to meet up for coffee in 15?’ He’d asked.
Ten minutes later, his phone buzzed. ‘Already there. :)’
After that, the two hit it off socially pretty well. Their previous likeness and friendship seemed to still linger and the pieces were far easier to pick up than they thought. Three weeks later, Ryan had managed to coax Madison into revealing her living situation. Shortly after, he’d convinced her to move in with him.
Now, just a couple months after that, it was October, 4 years after the trauma they experienced. Ryan was at his office desk scrawling in his notebook another plot list, different ideas to carry the next chapter in his comic. Madison, on the other hand, was perched on the windowsill of their apartment living room—a very nice apartment on the 5th floor of the complex, thanks to Ryan’s paycheck—lips enveloping the tip of her vape. She inhaled softly, pulling the object from her mouth as her lips closed and she held the smoke. Her green eyes fluttered closed and she exhaled through her nose, the smoke billowing out of the slightly open window.
“Done. Finally.” Ryan hummed, setting his pen down and closing out his computer tabs. He stretched his arms above his head as he spun his chair around, spine cracking as pleasant groans left the man’s lips. Madison let her eyes flutter open, moving her gaze away from the rain drops trickling down the glass and towards the dark-skinned male, a faint quirk of her brow an indication of her amusement.
“With those kinds of sounds, Ryan, the neighbors will think I’ve got you in bed.” She teased, tongue wetting her chapped pink lips. The male rolled his brown eyes in response as he stood, snatching a sofa pillow and thwacking her upside the head with it when he moved to join her. Perched on the other end of the windowsill, their legs crossed, knees bent and brushing together in the small space.
“With those kinds of sounds, they’ll be jealous on the action they could be missing.” Ryan replied coyly, grinning at the faint flush that filtered through the apples of her cheeks, her freckles standing out over the plush pink tone.
“Oh har har, Mister-Writer.” She huffed, obviously embarrassed as she gazed out the window, his eyes blatantly devouring the image of her when he continued to grin her way. “Not my fault you’ve got abs like a lickable brick wall.”
Quirking a brow, he snorted, grin wide enough to reveal his pearly whites. “‘Lickable’?” Her face flushed further, the tips of her ears turning red as she hid her expression behind the pillow he’d hit her with.
“Shut uuuuuup.” She whined, embarrassed by her own slip. His loud amused laughter brought a small smile to her face, her head tilting up enough for her green eyes to peek up at him. A calm silence fell over them, the two relishing in the sounds of the autumn rain and the busy streets below, muffled through the glass.
“Emma texted in the group chat.” Ryan began after a long silence, his eyes closed and his head tilted back against the window frame.
“When doesn’t she text?” Madison huffed sarcastically, rolling her eyes and inhaling from her vape again.
“She’s invited everyone to her grandparents cottage. Supposedly, her grandparents left it to her til March—they’re out on some cruise vacation or whatever…—and we’re all out of college now, so…” Brows raised curiously, green orbs met dark chocolate, both of them swirling with the same anxiety.
“So…who’s coming?”
“Everyone, so far. Except us.”
“Max is going to be there…?” Ryan sighed and leaned forward, placing a gentle hand over one of hers and giving it a light squeeze.
“We don’t have to go, Maddie.”
She exhaled harshly, coughing slightly as the smoke filtered out of her lungs, setting the object to her side. Madison’s fingers squeezed Ryan’s back, her breathing shaky as she gazed at her lap.
“I-It’s just…I’m the reason he went into rehab, Ryan. A-And now that he’s out, w-what if seeing me—“
Ryan covered her mouth with his free hand, drawing her in for a hug with the other. His hand quickly slipped from her mouth to the back of her head, cradling her close to his chest.
“That’s not going to happen, Maddie. I promise.” The male reassured her in that smooth, deep baritone voice of his, caressing her red locks beneath her black beanie. She inhaled shakily and nodded, her arms encompassing his back to return the affectionate gesture.
“O-Okay.” She mumbled into his crème sweater, fisting the fabric on his back. “We can go.”
Ryan nodded, resting his head against hers as they held each other. It was rare, the physical contact, after everything they’d been through. They didn’t have partners and they certainly didn’t do much socializing aside from coworkers or each other. Yet, on those nights where the memories and terrors became too much, one of them would find the other in the dark. It was an unspoken rule between them, to hold each other when things became too much. Neither minded at all.
“We can pack tonight and head out tomorrow if it’s clearer? Arrive a, uh…a day early so we can get used to the idea…?” Ryan suggested, leaning back to gaze down at the shorter girl, fixing her beanie as their embrace had displaced the beloved accessory.
“Y-Yeah…yeah, that sounds…good.” To Ryan, the short ginger seemed to have taken after both himself and their dear friend Dylan, his awkward and dorky self only ever shown to those two, as they had been the closest back then. The girl had once been very out there, like Emma, and very sassy, like Kaitlyn, but after that August, she’d receded into a shell of who she once was, instead taking on the quiet mysterious persona Ryan expressed and the shy, awkward nature Dylan possessed. It wasn’t unwelcome, at all, but Ryan found himself missing the taller brunette whenever Madison settled into that awkward air.
“Let’s get started, then.” Ryan stood, holding a hand out to Madison with a reassuring and calm smile on his lips. “Hey, it’ll be okay. If either of us get uncomfortable, we can leave, no hard feelings. Yeah?” Madison nodded, green eyes sparkling warmly and gratefully.
“Good. Now let’s pack.”
Maybe change was good. Maybe they really were going to be okay. Maybe…maybe this was their chance at happiness, recovery. Ryan and Madison had each other, and soon they’d have their friends, again. Maybe now, they had a chance to grasp on to that little string of hope.

What is Arduino?
https://makersmuse.in/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Arduino-un-scaled.jpg
Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. Arduino boards can read inputs – light on a sensor, a finger on a button, or a Twitter message – and turn it into an output – activating a motor, turning on an LED, publishing something online. You can tell your board what to do by sending a set of instructions to the microcontroller on the board. To do so you use the Arduino programming language (based on Wiring), and the Arduino Software (IDE), based on Processing.
Over the years Arduino has been the brain of thousands of projects, from everyday objects to complex scientific instruments. A worldwide community of makers – students, hobbyists, artists, programmers, and professionals – has gathered around this open-source platform, their contributions have added up to an incredible amount of accessible knowledge that can be of great help to novices and experts alike.
Tumblr media
Why Arduino?
Arduino has been used in thousands of different projects and applications. The Arduino software is easy-to-use for beginners, yet flexible enough for advanced users. It runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux. Teachers and students use it to build low-cost scientific instruments, to prove chemistry and physics principles, or to get started with programming and robotics. Designers and architects build interactive prototypes, musicians and artists use it for installations and to experiment with new musical instruments. Makers, of course, use it to build many of the projects exhibited at the Maker Faire, for example. Arduino is a key tool to learn new things. Anyone – children, hobbyists, artists, programmers – can start tinkering just following the step-by-step instructions of a kit or sharing ideas online with other members of the Arduino community.
There are many other microcontrollers and microcontroller platforms available for physical computing. Parallax Basic Stamp, Netmedia’s BX-24, Phidgets, MIT’s Handyboard, and many others offer similar functionality. All these tools take the messy details of microcontroller programming and wrap it up in an easy-to-use package. Arduino also simplifies the process of working with microcontrollers, but it offers some advantage for teachers, students, and interested amateurs over other systems:
Inexpensive – Arduino boards are relatively inexpensive compared to other microcontroller platforms. The least expensive version of the Arduino module can be assembled by hand, and even the pre-assembled Arduino modules cost less than \$50
Cross-platform – The Arduino Software (IDE) runs on Windows, Macintosh OSX, and Linux operating systems. Most microcontroller systems are limited to Windows.
Simple, clear programming environment – The Arduino Software (IDE) is easy-to-use for beginners, yet flexible enough for advanced users to take advantage of as well. For teachers, it’s conveniently based on the Processing programming environment, so students learning to program in that environment will be familiar with how the Arduino IDE works.
Open source and extensible software – The Arduino software is published as open-source tools, available for extension by experienced programmers. The language can be expanded through C++ libraries, and people wanting to understand the technical details can make the leap from Arduino to the AVR C programming language on which it’s based. Similarly, you can add AVR-C code directly into your Arduino programs if you want to.
Open source and extensible hardware – The plans of the Arduino boards are published under a Creative Commons license, so experienced circuit designers can make their own version of the module, extending it and improving it. Even relatively inexperienced users can build the breadboard version of the module to understand how it works and save money.

Cultural Catalysts
In the vibrant landscape of education, the role of Arts and Humanities is often underestimated, yet they stand as cultural catalysts, enriching the learning experience and shaping well-rounded individuals.
This article aims to shed light on the profound impact of Arts and Humanities in education, focusing on their ability to foster creativity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the human experience.
Fostering Creativity and Expression
At the heart of Arts and Humanities lies the power to unleash creativity and provide a platform for self-expression. Through mediums such as visual arts, music, literature, and drama, students find avenues to explore their imagination, convey emotions, and develop a unique voice. Encouraging creativity from an early age contributes to the holistic development of individuals, nurturing skills that are invaluable in various aspects of life.
Developing Critical Thinking Skills
Arts and Humanities are pivotal in cultivating critical thinking skills. Literature, for instance, prompts readers to analyse, interpret, and form opinions. Similarly, engaging with historical events and philosophical concepts challenges students to think critically about the world around them. These disciplines encourage the questioning of assumptions, fostering a mindset that goes beyond rote memorisation and embraces analytical thinking.
Understanding Cultural Diversity
In the rich Indian cultural diversity, Arts and Humanities serve as gateways to understanding the myriad expressions of heritage. Studying literature from different regions, exploring diverse art forms, and delving into historical narratives offer students a broader perspective on the rich cultural mosaic of the country. This understanding is crucial in fostering unity despite diversity and fostering a sense of shared identity.
Enhancing Communication Skills
Effective communication is a keystone of success in any field, and Arts and Humanities contribute significantly to honing this skill. Engaging in debates, participating in theatrical performances, or presenting artistic creations fosters communication proficiency. These activities empower students to articulate their thoughts, listen actively, and express themselves eloquently, skills that are indispensable in both personal and professional spheres.
Encouraging Empathy and Social Awareness
Arts and Humanities provide a lens through which students can explore the experiences of others, fostering empathy and social awareness. Literature, in particular, allows readers to step into different perspectives, understand diverse cultures, and comprehend the challenges faced by individuals from various backgrounds. This heightened awareness nurtures a sense of empathy, which is essential for fostering a compassionate and inclusive society.
Bridging the Gap Between Science and Arts
In the pursuit of a well-rounded education, the integration of Arts and Humanities with scientific disciplines is crucial. This interdisciplinary approach helps students recognise the interconnectedness of seemingly disparate subjects. For instance, incorporating artistic elements in science education or infusing scientific principles into artistic projects not only enhances learning but also prepares students for the complexities of a rapidly evolving world.
Nurturing a Lifelong Love for Learning
Arts and Humanities contribute to the creation of lifelong learners. By instilling a love for literature, music, and the arts, students are encouraged to continue exploring these realms beyond the confines of the classroom. This passion for continuous learning becomes a lifelong asset, enriching individuals’ lives and ensuring a curious and open-minded approach to the world.
Valuable Life Skills Beyond Academics
While academic knowledge is undeniably crucial, Arts and Humanities impart a set of invaluable life skills. Teamwork, problem-solving, adaptability, and resilience are cultivated through collaborative artistic projects or the exploration of historical events. These skills not only enhance students’ academic journey but also equip them for success in diverse real-world scenarios.

Project concept journal: Stuff I want to work on: 33
Things I need to consider:
Legal restraints: Can i use music from relevant game? Or use from YoutubeLibrary? Can I post without monetizing? or risk copyright strike regardless? Doublecheck Transformative work and Derivative work IP Laws
Efficiency restrictions: Complication of scene? Too many characters? How simple is too simple? Can I reuse assets between projects? ways to efficiently simplify the shot as a single creator.
Logistical constraints: Suggested time for Shorts is 15 seconds, minute max with 10MB file size with 1920x1080 vertical resolution. Tumblr videos 10 minutes max or 500MB file size at 500x700 vertical resolution. Using YouTube Sound Effect catalogue limits video length to 15 seconds exactly? Check to see if same applies to YouTube Audio library.
1 second of animation is 12/24 frames professionally. 10sec/120-240 frames and 30sec/360-720 frames and etc. to keep in mind
Warframe animation shorts
warframe creator guidelines allows usage of their soundtrack and in game audio in passive advertisement content, but not for other projects not related to warframe.
ParkourFrame: empyrean NEZHA parkour takedown a corpus unit, skidding some flame trails, panning up his back as he comes to a stand, cut and Pan to face. Very detailed design, singular character, semi simple background, maybe a corpus hallway? 10 seconds?
BoardFrame: Yareli Kdriving, maybe kdrive dancing like longboard dancers. Maybe ask a mandachord artist if you can use their track with source and credit? Simplified design, singular character, could be on snowy hill path facing forward Simple parallax background slowly panning up with a minimal foreground. 15-16 seconds
RepairFrame: Warframe fishing for parts to help a vent kid with replacing a part that got messed up in a run, flashing back to catching them with other vent kids to stop her from falling off a cliff with a MOA clipped to her. Minimum 3 characters(WF VK MOA) simplified snow background, simplified vent kids chute, simplified cave fishing spot. Can attempt a motion comic style with minimal movement. Might be too complicated/extended storyline for a short, might make minute max. Try boarding it.
BOREDFrame: You wanna Nahhhh you wanna? Nahhhhhhh what about? NAAAAAAAAAHHHHH for warframe mission types then staying in orbiter. Decide on frames to be initiator and denier. super simplified Chibi maybe? Two character, maybe a grineer being shot. Multiple simplified backgrounds. 10 seconds
This is my A-Slot*look* this is my B-Slot *new look* this is my C-slot *newnew look* and this! is my d-slot >;3*look* 'Just pick one already before the void storm passes' 15 seconds?
BugFrame: Titania pranking people with little butterfly tickles or covering up their scope. Two characters plus butterfly and scoped weapon prop, one background. Can be minimal on-model. Can be about 8-10 seconds.
StoreFrame: Heavy breathing meme for new cosmetic and prime junk farming? Ehhh kinda not really impactful. 10 seconds. simple chibi simple chibified orbiter cockpit background
GoreFrame: Deimos landscape undulating while fighting worm with necramech. 30 seconds with a long windup time for worm movements. Maybe up to 45 seconds. Have a rough in blender already
OW: Deleted concepts due to current events. The year's worth of girl centered advertising and girl empowerment storylines does not leave a good taste in my mouth considering the allegations and lawsuits that were leveraged while these were in development.
A league of legends short Same boat as above, but they paid out their lawsuits. featuring a song from a character that didn’t get a trailer or that appeals to me. I can use some of the music safely due to champion and skin themes being added to creator safe playlists on SoundCloud. Songs with singers are contracted and can't be used.
Seraphine interacting with her (water scorpion?) spirit platform and showing an empath’s view of the world. Complex background angle, swooping from high vantage point and falling gracefully to impending doom at the ground. Simplify character design to make angle transition easier. Longest at a minute? Would be an undertaking. cannot monetize due to singer contract
Space groove blitzcrank offering an Uber ride to space groove Samira with some groovy shoulder action, maybe her skating on some planetary rings like a waterskier. Two characters, Two angles of one background for most of scene then pan to multiple scenes briefly as blitz’s arm pans through them. 20-30 second timeframe? From very beginning it is exactly 40 seconds. Could cut out roughly first 12 seconds, so 28 seconds? Try to find a good looping point for viewability. could make into a trailer for a longer video if time constraint too strong.
KDA Allout Kaisa dancing and breaking and shattering stuff. Chorus, one character, semi complicated background. Look into particles. About 14 seconds just dumdedum chorus? cannot monetize due to singer contract
Rell song was added to dmca safe playlist! Can do either the running charge sound at the beginning for her dismounting (exactly 15 seconds for a good loop point, maybe 25 for the heavy drums) simple if just her charging, blurred out and far away, camera adjusts to see her intense look on the back of her horse. or the “im coming for you now with fiiiiiire, never lose a fighter bit(2:54-3:22 would be 28 seconds). Could go with a lot of noise and wave to simulate her 4, complex depending on fight choreography (one big unit? Bunch of smaller units?) Big fan of her aesthetic
MECH&CYBORG explorations
Some shorts based off of IchiMegamix with different IGPX teams? Definitely want to explore mech animation , either with 3d or 2d. Do Not Monetize At All. IP is licensed by CC/CN. Music is licensed through Sony library I think, could maybe check adult swim’s music use guidelines. Otherwise YoutubeLibrary
Getting fouled into a yellow flag yield so repair unit can come in, get one last petty ding in as it’s getting reeled up, show characters being salty little competitive children. Seven characters max(teams and repair unit) with “speech bubbles” of pilots heads coming out. Determine complexity in boarding. repeated movement in background and foreground,15 seconds
Edge raid acting like a pack of wild dogs and ganging up and dragging people with their wires.
Skylark team coasting and drag drifting with wind trails visible. 3 identical mechs with color differences on accent panels.repeated motion background based on track. 15 seconds.
Zoids idea exploration/appreciation. YouTube Library, Do not monetize to respect IP being used in videos unless very very transformative.
New paint job?
Raptorzoid clawing open another pilot’s zoid.
Longe range Sniper wolf zoid. Shooting at a megazoid
Medium sized modern zoids like sport car sized hares? Reptile themed zoids like snakes, monitor lizards, horny toads, and smaller skink zoids that swim/bury themselves in the sand. more desert themed zoids with clear parts. Tarantula or trapdoor spider zoids. 5 seconds for each type, roughly 35 seconds from listed, with no interactions, just robotic animals, maybe pilots.
Bird based zoids like gliders with extra propulsion, lots of sheen and glare doing an aerial dogfight. Hawk and pigeon/songbird themed? Big predatory zoid with a smaller zoid piggybacking on it. Could be bird (swallow?) themed, could be bats or cicadas or other wall clingers, but clinging to canyon wall? 6 seconds for the take off, 6 seconds for the piggyback ride, 10+ for the aerial dogfight
Waterbear satellite repair silicone softzoid (vtuber mascot? Partial to it personally. big squish factor. could give up front clear visor for more squishy aerogel and use cameras beacons, magnets, clasping/hugging the satellite to for outward mobility. 10 seconds with it latching onto the outside and releasing the pilot to work on something. Lots of emphasis on the jiggle physics, three characters if satellite is included, a couple backgrounds of bare space and atmospheric shots of planet. Aerogel right now is partially transparent, like foggy glass.
RISKY WATERS: Anything Disney, don't monetize at all to be safe. Check for updates and permissions for following: Oban original and sequel, SRMTHFG dance short.
TVS CREW: fan art appears to be appreciated, but check if would be lore accurate, and if ok to post on my channel or submit to theirs. Could just do the lines/backgrounds, and offer to let community color it. Current known lore is CoDee=coffee maker, HaiDee=music player/DAW, LAEDEE is solar powered, False and EYEDEE are interchangably the same entity, but False runs the show(one or both of them have a malicious compliance bug). Also catdragonandroid reine is honorary crew
False assimilating an EYEDEE unit. 3 characters with EYEDEE potentially being a mob character that only one gets converted. Check if establishing V-U collector cell as canon lore.GOFOR(GeoOrbital Fetch or Retrieval)becomes original intern EYEDEE (Enigmatic Yesman Everyman), sent to False to either replace or send his battery/database to the surface of earth. Has his original programming suppressed and replaced with false who benignly? Copies his own code into the unit. Collects the data from the EYEDEE, then willingly hands over his cell under agreement that they generate more power using Eyedee’s V-U Cell. Reine shows up. 40-58 seconds? might be too complicated. Motion Comic practice?
False and EYEDEE almost losing to a short haired LAEDEE (loss aversion engineering) unit. Both underpowered from running on half power, LAEDEE unit generating cool tech. Reine shows up. Conflict resolution and contract generated. New long haired cohost look generated. 30-35 seconds
Willing relinquishing of duties by False to better allocate power. False says I’ll be Back to bring more news, Soon. Reine says it’s a shame they’re putting the hot one to rest. 20 seconds?
Creation process for secondary cohosts. Codee and Haidee remark on how buff they are and eyedee says you’re welcome. 15 seconds standing shot with 3-5 characters, simple background
EYEDEE being spotted by crew updating/charging with False and drawing on their faces. V-U cell churning views into power in lap like a pondering orb. 10-15 seconds
Dragon explorations YouTube Library, since original concept, dont worry about monetizing easily 10-15 seconds with sound effects Can keep relatively simple with black/white backgrounds, caves, open bodies of sky/water. complicated anatomy, might need to do multiple movement studies/explorations
acting like eels, coiled together in a nook, swarming a pizza fresh meal, swimming through different materials
acting like grackles, tilting their head up and whale eyeing each other
deciding on alternate/fantasy biology. Add glowing elements? Developing crests? Scales vs “fur” vs hide? Gill like organs? Wings? Eyes adjusting? Wings at all? Eyes at all?
Scifi themed Anne McCaffrey dragons or soft fantasy scaley lore dragons? Eastern furred dragons vs western scaled dragons?
monster dipping in and out of goop

北の空から Kita no Sora Kara From the Northern Sky
Another track from CMusic! this time for Sailor Moon R! This track is found in Episode 61 of the series Usagi Devastated: Mamoru Declares a Break-Up. None other than the song form the infamous Break Up scene! (infamous if you dont like the arc.)
Tumblr media
Personally not my favorite arc for this season but this scene really does hit hard outside of it, and the music they chose fits so well.
