What's your favourite Doctor from Doctor Who, Frank? They're a very interesting character and there's lots of versions of them!

I used to like 11 a lot, but not any more -- I've actually never liked any of the Doctors I find myself consistently liking, which doesn't mean they're bad, but it is confusing when it happens. (This is part of the reason I like "old" versions of the Doctor a lot more than new -- continuity isn't really my thing, though.)

For a while I've been really into "New Who" and "classic Who," and really disliking "Middle and "Russell T. Davies," which, when combined with my love for 11, has made the New Who Doctors (11, 12, 13, and 14) the only ones I like. But I've actually become quite fond of the new ones in recent weeks (9, 10, and 15), so I'm now a fan of the majority of them.

A little less than a week after the world didn’t end, Adam receives a letter inviting him to a certain school of magic. After a dream he replies, and the next morning miraculously the rest of ‘The Them’ get invited too, and they gain magical powers as well. Crowley and Aziraphale come in to check on Adam, and it turns out they make quite good teachers there. Anathema gets a job offering to Hogwarts as a divination teacher, and with the proper tools she actually becomes the second best seer of all time.

The first few chapters are setup, after that you get lots of ineffable husbands fluff and Anathema being badass. Haven’t really seem 'Them’ centric fics so I decided to try it with this crossover. Lots of material and its fun to write, so win-win! (Post-canon for both franchises)

Once complete will become first in a series.

Expectations vs. Reality

GCHQ is real- it's the British equivalent and partner of the NSA, more commonly known as part of the DOD. My dad's been there on a fair number of buisiness trips and his coworker is living in the UK on a visa to work there.

bug me for fic recs! ask game (My computer is having issues loading the emojis, so apologises in advance!0) 🦋 Recommend one or three of your own fics! Svalbard - A short Cabin Pressure Fic focusing on Carolyn/Herc on a Christmas vacation to Svalbard with the crew. Paint It Red - Romana teaches Brax that applying make up can be a powerful tool. The Edge of Existence -An AU! version of that scene in Power of the Doctor, but with Brax. Is Brax ready to move onto the final stages of the afterlife? Or is everything as it seems?

Recommend a great fic centered on your favorite character! Oh, I have so many involving Brax! There's so many fantastic works out there. After All, I collected you by @c0rrupt3dsp1r1t It's such an amazing fanfic, and i'm currently doing a re-read of it to catch up.

They've finally set the Collection's timeline straight- or as straight as it'll go. A century ahead of where it should be, but that's fine. Benny's been off with the Doctor again, but Brax isn't keen on it. When another alien infection gets into her head though, there are things she realizes she can't hide from him anymore.

As a relationship between a now technically elderly human woman and the manipulative Time Lord best friend who sort-of-kind-of-didn't-actually ruin her life though, it's bound to be a bit of a rough one, at least at the start. Especially with ghosts of the past, both friend and foe, coming back to haunt them. And a broken piece of magical Gallifreyan ceramic is causing time to unravel- but for the most part that's a separate problem entirely.

Bernice Summerfield has a lot of friends though, both faces old and new. It can't be all bad with them around.0 I'm also going to recommend another one, because I binged read these two so hard last year and i still think about them constantly. It is a Ten/Rose and Brax/Romana-centered fanfic. But it is SO well written. It's not completed and I'm not sure if the author will ever up date part two, but its such a fun ride. They are called Speaking His Language and Reclaiming Gallifrey. by Groovykat. Reclaiming is the sequel, but I highly recommend reading Speaking His Language FIrst. The first one is more centered on Ten/Eight/Rose, but the beginning of Brax/Romana and the Gallifrey gang saving Gallifrey plot in this build up is fantastic.

Summary of Speaking his Language:

When Rose Tyler runs because of an adventure gone awry, she ends up deep inside the TARDIS of another Doctor. He takes off before he realizes he has a stowaway on board and ends up on a planet Rose never thought she'd ever get to see. When he finds his little stowaway, and sees her current state, he finds out that this is not going to be as simple as just taking her back to himself...

...Especially when she's undecided whether or not she wants to go back to him at all.

Recommend a fic that makes you sad (in the best way!!)! Some great angst and/or hurt/comfort!

The one I can think of at the moment is probably Sepelio by @strange-destinations that is a beautiful, deliciously written Hannibal! Bernice Summerfield AU.

A seemingly endless trail of murders and murderers springing up all across Dellah. An insatiable, inexplicable morbid curiosity. An abundance of cold, hungry earth. Ignorance is bliss, as long as you can maintain it.

Sometimes it doesn't matter how good your intentions are.

My brain is too tired to think of any others, but I'm probably missing some!

Hey Frank, have you listened or read anything from Bernice Summerfield? If so, who's your favorite character? I know a lot of people are partial to Braxiatel, but personally I prefer Benny herself- thoughts?

Yeah, I love Benny. I guess the thing is that while I know she has her own issues she's got a really good reason to be as awful as she is and she's done a lot of really horrible things in the past, and while I still sympathize with her in some ways she feels like she is very much a despicable, awful person, like her story is "the things we do to each other." She really is an awful person. I can imagine that people who don't feel that way (even when they have the same sort of problems) wouldn't like her too much.

I remember really liking the Benny storyline in TNC -- she is clearly a self-absorbed, socially-awkward person who doesn't have anyone to turn to, and then she meets TNC John Egbert, a weird kid with no one to turn to, and there's a lot of "oh my god they are so similar" moments, and she tries to get to know him while feeling like she must be crushing this on him. (I also liked the fact that TNC John seemed to be the kind of weird person who really "gets" her, although of course "Benny" is very different from "the original Bernice Summerfield" -- see above.)
