Welcome to Silver Scale Zine!

Hello and well met, traveler! This is the official blog of the Silver Scale Zine, an upcoming TTRPG zine made by fans, for fans.

Our first issue is going to be released in TBD. We wanted to give ample time for submissions and formatting, as well as to spread the word about our little project! The hope is to release issues every other month, though if it takes off we wouldn't mind increasing to monthly or more!

Are you a writer, artist, or other creator in the Tabletop Roleplaying Game space? We'd love to feature you in our zine!

Submissions do not have to match this theming, but those that do will be given priority! You will own all rights to your work! Submitting simply gives us the rights to publish it in our zine with your permission and any credit/handles/email you wish so readers can discover your work!

We do have the goal to sell each issue in its first few months for around $1-5 pay-what-you-want, which will be dispersed among the contributors to thank them for their submissions. We welcome all thoughts on this and how best to distribute to contributors!

Since 1829, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) has presented the Flower Show - an annual competition in horticulture, floral arranging, and gardening demonstrations.

The PHS Flower Show is both the nation's largest and the world’s longest-running horticultural event.

Running concurrent to the PHS Flower Show in Philadelphia from March 2-10, 2024 - the Alternative Flower Show seeks to present works that invert, question, and engage the Show, its meaning, output, and impact.

The Alternative Flower Show requests artwork and proposals for installations, performances, workshops, lectures, and events that examine and explore concepts surrounding horticulture, botany, floral display and arrangement, ecology, and the environment.

Good news everybody—submissions for Death’s Dormant Daughter will be open between September 15th 2023 and October 15th 2023! We are hopeful that we can fully support ourselves as a creative project this time around and will devote ourselves to releasing meaningful publications and share our mission of supporting those grieving and lonely with art representing their struggles.

We are looking for works of poetry, creative non-fiction, short stories and art. Please know there will be a reading fee of five dollars—until further notice we cannot afford to pay contributors—but we still need the reading fees to keep us afloat. Thank you for your patience at this time. It takes a great deal of labor, time, and money to run something efficiently and well.

We will always have free PDFs of the work we publish—but we are expanding into print editions too.

More information coming about the guidelines and vibe of this call for submissions in the next couple of weeks.
