On the other side of the curtains, the two could hear shuffling and loud chatter.

Joel checked over his uniform, fiddling with the fabrics over his wrists, situating the garment pieces to their respective places. He glances over to his left, seeing Etho reciting over the script one final time before their last few minutes of waiting to be called upon.

Etho's face scrunched with emotions. Confusion and wonder are the ones taking the long drive.

"Are you two ready?" The two looked towards the corner of the room at the far back, seeing their producer, Grian, peeking his head through the doorway, a clipboard in his hold, his attention focused on the two singers.

"We're always prepared for these lives, right Etho?"

"Indeed."

"That's good," Grian nods, "the curtains are just about to pull open, so I suggest getting into your positions and turning on your microphones." He taps near his ear to indicate his words.

Not long after, and the male producer leaves, Joel and Etho head up the steps that lead to the massive stage. The vocals of the audience could be heard much louder.

"The art and crafts crew have done wonderful yet again with these props," Etho whispers in awe, eyes wide whilst looking around the stage. The backdrop behind them and some pop-up props sitting about in the right positions were placed here and there along the stage to match with the theme of the two's song.

"They always do. The crew never seemed to have a limitation to making such things." Joel replies back whilst situating his microphone, twisting the piece over his ear and placing the main bit as close to his lips respectively, preparing for when his vocals would be needed.

The two then walk up to the middle of the stage, their heads bowed down, standing back to back.

The lights all around suddenly dim down. The curtains in front of Joel and Etho pull open as the voices of the audience pull to a hush. The sound of music begins to play slowly.

"Let's do this, Etho. Once and for all." Joel whispers as he then knocks his head up once the music fastens with a beat. He takes a couple of steps forward, arms reach out as his lips part, and lyrics begin to flow.

Etho then follows with, creating similar actions.

Their voices string together in synchronisation. The melody flows smoothly through the forests stream. The lights around them change hues from time to time to match the theme of the songs mood.

Their figures twist and slip. Their vocals' toning reach high and low. Some lyrics Joel sang by himself, with Etho doing the same a minute after. Mostly, they sang together, creating a great piece that only they could make.

Warmth begins to sink itself in from the overhead lights, causing sweat to produce... until at last, the last remaining seconds of the song come to a close, Joel and Etho stand at the very front of the stage. One arm each reaches out to the sides, their other arms folded over with the palm of their hands against their chest as they bow forward with some smiles.

The audience roar on.

No matter how many times they played a song - fresh or other - the adrenaline that came with playing in front of so many people, with said figures always cheering them on, never ceased the excitement.

Unfortunately I was reminded of Variable Barricade and I'm like "haha ah yes, the worst love interests you can imagine thrown into one game so that the MC can be disgusted with all of them". Then I was like "I miss my son, Nayuta. What a little freak. I want to draw him again". But also had no idea what to draw so I drew him getting yelled at by Ichiya and OH MAN. WHAT A SHOCK. It's Ichiya's birthday and it was completely unintentional I didn't mean to give the man art for his bday but here we are.
