THE SOULMATE THEORY ; MIKAGE REO

The room was dark. The only source of light—though bright but not enough to light up the whole room—was from the digital clock on the bedside table. '12:42,’ it read in bright neon red numbers. It was also quiet, so much so that two pairs of steady breathings could be heard.

One belonged to Reo and the other, to you.

"Are you asleep?" You whisper—soft and delicate—careful as to not wake your lover up if he indeed was asleep but loud enough to let him know of your own sleepless state.

Your eyes have been long adjusted to the darkness and you can make out the silhouette of his face. The length of his nose and his eyelashes, the slight part of his lush lips, his sharp and angular jaw—truly—he was majestic.

"No," his eyes fluttered open and his lips turned upward. His smile, the gentleness of which never failed to make your heart beat ten times faster, which never failed to make your stomach feel all giddy with the butterflies that erupted.

"I was thinking about your face from earlier and the various sounds you made too actually. Sweet as honey to me but I'm afraid Mrs. Tanaka might complain come morning," gentle tone was overruled by mischief. That was Mikage Reo, a gem of a person for a second and a force to be reckoned with the next.

"Please don't oh my god," you covered your face—now tinted with embarrassment—with the comforter you and Reo shared as you whined in protest.

The activities from an hour back rushing into your brain, playing like a movie sequence. As foggy as your mind was earlier, you were surprised that you remembered everything so vividly. You could still feel his rough, calloused and much larger hands tracing every curve of your body as if to memorise its shape. You could feel the lingering kisses on your neck, your shoulder, your chest, the now purple marks left with pride. You would have to cover them before work in the morning. You could hear your own sounds of pleasure and his groans as if to say more, more, more. You could feel it all. You could feel him. Your face flushed a deeper shade of fuchsia as you gulped, trying to get the images out of your head.

"You act like we haven't done this a million times before my love," he laughed slowly, bringing a hand to cover his mouth.

"Come on, look at me. Don't shy away now," he pulled the blanket off of you, removing your hands from your face as he hugged you.

"You're incorrigible, you know that right?" You huffed out in faux annoyance, snuggling against his chest, his arms a veil for your figure.

He laughed then, a laugh full of mischief and adoration and something akin to acknowledgement for your previous statement.

You laid like that, in silence. There was peace that came with the soft lub-dub of your synchronised heartbeats and your gentle breaths.

You were the one to break it first.

"Have you ever heard about that one Greek mythology? about soulmates?" You spoke, your cool fingers tracing gentle and soothing shapes on Reo's bare back which was painted with scratches from your nails.

"Can't say I have. Care to tell me?" He looked for your eyes as he pulled up the slipping comforter before pulling you closer to his chest. His warmth engulfed you whole, a comfortable shield from the much cooler surroundings.

"Well there is this theory," you started, face softening into affection as you laid against Reo's—albeit hard—but comfortable chest.

"It says that when Zeus created humans, he originally created them with two of everything. So two heads, two pairs of both the limbs, you get it. Their souls were one too. Fearing the power that these humans could possess, Zeus split them, including their souls, in half and scattered them around the world. The humans—as we now know them to be—would search far and wide, across oceans and lands to look for their other half. It is said that this other half is your soulmate and you search for them throughout your life," you smiled as you looked up at him, engrossed in your little story.

"Well that's just cruel of Zeus now, isn't it? I mean, what if someone doesn't find their soulmate?" Reo pouted and that made you chuckle a little.

"Maybe. Maybe not. It is just a story at the end of the day and how you decide to perceive a story totally depends on you," you jabbed his chest with your finger.

"I think I've found my other half," he stated with pride.

"Oh? Is that so? I wonder who it could be," you made a face as if you were thinking, tapping your chin with your forefinger.

"Oh I bet you do," in an instant your boyfriend was hugging you tighter than ever, his face buried in the crook between your neck and your shoulder.

His soft kisses were ticklish and they made you giggle. Your fingers further messed up his already tousled hair.

"You want me to say it out loud so bad don't you, you little minx," he whispered in your neck as you hummed in response.

"I think I've found my soulmate in you."

"I also think I've found mine in you Reo," your gentle voice was like ambrosia to his ears. He could drown in it, a bit was never enough.

He trailed kisses down the side of your face, starting from your ear, going down your jaw and finally a little bite on your neck. He licked on it in order to soothe the area. A new addition to the marks he had left earlier.

"Ow Reo!" You playfully smacked his head which forced him to separate from your neck.

"I already have enough marks to cover!" You puffed your cheek, barely hiding the smile that was begging to come up to the surface.

"You'll beg for them again tomorrow," he winked at you.

You could only roll your eyes. What would you even say? Deep in your heart, even you knew that he was right. "What is wrong with you?"

"Just that I'm irrevocably in love with you," he tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear, shutting his eyes.

"Unfortunately, I happen to love you too."

Teasing glances from your coworkers and friends due to the remnants from the events of the night would be a concern for later. For now, sleep would come easy to you because here you were, with Reo, in his arms. He was your safe haven and you were his and truly, whatever in the world could ever change that?

I need to rant about Timo actually I haven't given him the attention he deserves.

Now Timo isn't one of my "main" characters, but I'd say he's pretty important cause he was one of the first people Silas hired, he was present during Morrigan's death, and he was the only person Silas trusted to be around and even look after Finn when he was baby.

The thing about Timo that he absolutely despises empty promises and people who frequently make them. The reason for that is largely due to his childhood, which was mostly spent in an orphanage.

Timo was left on the streets at a very young age. He can't remember how he got there, but a lot of his early memories were just wandering around Atlantica and being stared at and whispered about ("Oh, that poor thing"), and digging through garbage for food.

This is where his hatred of being "all talk" began. He's been told or overheard so many things that are never acted upon, especially "I'm sure someone will help him," and then they swim away or "Don't worry I'll be right back," and he never sees them again.

Eventually, he ended up in an orphanage he was mostly ignored and passed by cause, well... he's a tiny cuttlefish with sharp teeth and tentacles in his mouth. Most who had the money and privilege to adopt passed him over. He was constantly told, "Don't worry, you'll be adopted soon," which are just more empty promises.

He eventually just kinda realised those promises are made to keep him quiet, to make him shut up and to make him stop looking so sad. They were promises made to make the other person feel better, not him. He just doesn't believe people who promise or insist on things anymore.

When he got over he realised that if he wasn't adopted before he was 18 he'd be kicked out and wind up back on the streets all over again (and he would not be given the kindness people give sad children).

He spent a lot of his early teens looking for jobs and was met for more empty words and promises like "We'll get back you."

One day, he saw Silas' ad in the newspaper (thanks Morrigan for insisting), and while he didn't have hunting experience, he was pretty desperate and decided to give it a shot.

And like... he freaking adored Silas. Was he scared at first? Absolutely, Silas is terrifying. But Silas is a guy who doesn't talk much and chooses every word carefully, and his words are filled with intention.

Silas never makes an empty promise. He gets shit done. If he says he's going to do something, he'll do it. He told Timo he would teach him how to hunt... and then he actually did???? He didn't tell Timo, "Not now." "It turns out I can't." "I hired someone else," He just said. "Let's get started." That means so much to Timo.

It was just amazing and incredible. This guy was listening to Timo and adapting to his needs to teach him better and giving him (a bit odd sometimes) advice and making sure he had essential life skills like- kinda like a dad. He treated Timo like a person and not a sad sight to pity or a cute little thing to gawk at.

And when he wearily corrected Silas on his pronouns and gender Silas was like "? Okay, anyways" and he actually listened and just wtjsgkgsjzvnzvn. Mister Silas is the best dad- *ahem* boss ever. ...And Mister Morrigan's there too ig (/j he likes Morrigan as well)

first ship ever: Oh man, no idea. Something from Greek mythology maybe? Or from one of those compulsory readings in middle school? Maybe earlier?

last song you heard: This. Also in French. It's apparently based on an actual love curse song and I can't stop listening to it.

favourite childhood book: Either a two-volume book on Greek mythology or the Mary Poppins series. I received the Greek mythology book when I was about 6 and it was the first "serious" book I managed to read all by myself (I'd only read some Bamse beforehand). I used to like the first volume, the one on gods, better than the second one which focused on the heroes, which I found sort of boring. I wanted to read about cool powers and the like, not guys doing things. I lent the books to a friend a few years ago and haven't seen them since, but I recently leafed through the volumes at another friend's house (every kid has them), and noticed my tastes have sort of reversed now.

As for Mary Poppins... I still remember that frustrating Midsummer Eve volume which created more mysteries instead of answering longstanding questions. Immortal Mary? ??? Also that Halloween chapter where I would mentally replace the park and lane with the park across the street and my own street. My mental image of the MP world was half whatever I read, half my own home. (I only watched the Disney movie much, much later and found it rather disappointing.)

currently reading: - A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. I had forgotten how verbose he is! I appreciate the irony/dry humour but there are so many unneeded passages. It's also quite quotable, in fact it contains my favourite quote ever that I learnt of before knowing the book.

Alamut by Vladimir Bartol. It's ok so far, I'm only ~70 pages in, so I can't draw a conclusion, but I can't say I'm awed or anything. I'd be tempted to blame the translation, but it might also be my expectations (cool assassin action yeah!) vs reality (newcomer learns about stuff in painstaking detail).

The House on the Borderland by W. H. Hodgson. Literally just started it, I'm looking forward to being spooked. I've only read two other things by Hodgson, The Voice in the Night, which I can't remember for the life of me, and The Night Land, which I read the only time I worked in an office and I still can't tell whether reading that book or working in an office was worse. I Very Much Dislike working in an office if you couldn't tell.

currently watching: The Last Kingdom. I quite like it, despite the biker vikings and the ridiculous premise that everything in (future) England worked thanks to 1 (one) guy™ and some REALLY unneeded character changes (historical power couple turned into lil bitch husband vs long suffering wife who fucks the protag of course). Can't talk yet about the writing quality after Netflix took over (started season 4), but I do appreciate the better costumes and accessories. People finally wear rings, necklaces, brooches, armbands etc! Wew. I do not appreciate the Middle Ages filter even though some colour does manage to make its way on screen from time to time. I also miss the battle tactics, but well, as long as the character interactions are nice...

19: Have you picked up any vocabulary from mcyts?

Hmm, that's a tricky one? Like. Probably, because I was twelve when I started watching. But it's hard to know specifically. I have started using -ificate, but that's currently more a conscious effort because it's fun to say rather than normal so far. I do remember back in the day feeling like I was picking up vocab but now I can't remember it. "Hadjah!" is also fun to say. I am honestly more aware of picking up vocab from a specific friend of mine, but like. I've probably picked up mcyt vocab because I've watched so much over the years.

4: Do you play minecraft yourself? If yes, for how long have you been playing it?

Well, I don't regularly play these days, but I have played in the past. My account was created in March 2012... so that means my cubito is twelve years old now. My cubito is half my age. My brother got minecraft in Dec 2011, so me and my sister also shared his account for a few months until my sister and I got our accounts, and back then we played a LOT together. I remember not really understanding much, and trying to plan my house down to the block on grid paper while waiting for my turn to play minecraft. I tried to create two portal rooms in my basement because I didn't understand the nether and the end and didn't know you couldn't just build the end portal in your basement.

Friends at school would also play pocket edition minecraft so I joined in but bemoaned that the functionality was worse than computer minecraft. Bedrock minecraft in my head is still like 2012 pocket edition, even though I know it can't be true. A lot of minecraft in the early years and then from 2014 I probably stopped playing as much, and in 2016 when my Mindcrack interest died (because Mindcrack basically had died, and ZPM was all I was watching until it got abandonned), I also lost interest in playing minecraft too (and my friend had gotten me into danganronpa and then zero escape and then I just had other interests).

And then just before whenever the nether update happened again (2019??) I got nostalgic and opened it again and made a minecraft server with my siblings and friends again and it was great fun but then the server stopped working for people outside my network which was frustrating so then that stopped after only a few months and I didn't play any minecraft again for a few years and then I re-entered mcyt fandom in June 2022 with Double Life and I've watched SO MANY videos since then but not played much minecraft.

I opened a new world one day to open it to LAN so I could play with two friends but then one of them, her java edition looked like bedrock and she couldn't find the multiplayer window, and the other one could open multiplayer but her minecraft couldn't find my LAN world. so we instead played new single player worlds for a few hours, and then a couple of times over the next weeks I opened it and did small amounts, but then I haven't touched it in another year or so.

So like. Yes I've had minecraft for half my life now (which is WILD to realise) but I don't play frequently like at all. I would love to play but with a full time job + sportsball 1 + sportsball 2 i don't actually have much free time, and what I do have i instead spend on reading fic or watching videos or cross-stitching while watching a vod or playing dnd with my friends etc. playing minecraft would eat up so much time and i dont think i could just play like ten minutes at a time. plus i currently dont have a desk. or a mouse. so i'd be playing on a laptop on mousepad. which i've *done* but. Oh wait I did also play some MCCI briefly, but got bored on account of doing badly on account of playing with a trackpad and thus having terrible movement. and also being bad at pvp.

so i guess the short answers to those questions are "no" and "for twelve years" which are incongruous answers without the long explanation. and i'm now noticing just how long, so i shall be nice and add paragraphs for you.

You ended up spending a large portion of the day with Luida. She just swept you up in a way; she made you so comfortable; she was soft spoken and kind, making it so easy to get lost in the conversation. She talked about young Vash to you, and it made you chuckle. He has always had this kindness and curiosity about him. Before you knew it, Luida had done a full physical on you and ran more tests. You intrigued her with your nature. Vash was sent off with your blessing to keep Brad company and to make sure he doesn't lose his mind. Luida observed your rapid healing when removing needles and refused to go any further, even when you offered that she could nick you with a scalpel. Despite all that, you did give yourself a few little bruises with your fingers for her to observe.

"It's all so fascinating. I wonder how it ties in to our sensor and that ordeal." She wondered out loud as she made notes on the tablet. "How is your head doing?"

"Hurting a little, but nothing too bad. The buzzing inside the scull is nearly drowned out by the buzzing outside," you joke as a multitude of machines are working all around you.

"I wonder what exactly causes those headaches. With you having very rapid healing and all that. It is perfectly reasonable to have a headache after all you've been through. I'd like to take a look at that brain of yours if you don't mind."

"I'm not going to offer to take it out... I don't think Vash would be happy," you laugh.

"No!" Luida tries to sound disapproving of your joke, but laughs nonetheless: "We have technology for that."

"I trust you to the point that you can stick me anywhere." You smile because it's the truth. She has your complete trust; you know she means you no harm, and all she does is for your benefit.

"In that case, I have a few ideas." She points at more of her equipment and gets into elaborate detail on how they work and what they do.

You spend a few more hours in the laboratory; if anything, it is fun for you, even if Luida doesn't really make any new breakthroughs. Vash does stop by a few times, but gets shooed away by Luida when he gets in the way, like when he tried to take your hand while you were lying on a table on your way into a tube.

"Also... did you notice the medications I gave you making any difference? I know it might be hard to say; don't worry about it if you don't know." Luida asks as she offers you her hand to get off a table.

"I'm really not sure; I slept through them, but I guess that was their point," you ponder.

"Vash said you have immunity to poisons." Luida starts marking down more things on her tablet, and at the moment she looks exactly like a scientist you would imagine in your mind if you were asked to picture one.

"I can't say with absolute certainty; I have tried a few and they didn't do anything, but I guess if one is potent enough or my body weakened, who could say..."

"Most medicine is poison; in controlled dosages, it does more good than harm. I actually gave you Plant medicine; we haven't had to use it on anyone but Vash since the very early days because he took care of the Plants, but the equipment given from Earth included Plant medicine, mostly meant to calm them in case of distress. I gave you a small dosage of it. I'm unsure if they have any effect on you at all, or maybe the dose was too low due to your healing factor... Either way, I thought you would want to know."

Once again, time passes by unnoticed in the laboratory. All you've found out so far is that your blood turns into ashes when out of your body, and all other parts seem to disappear in a mysterious way or perhaps change into pure carbon. But that doesn't dampen your spirit. You are happy to spend time with a human, one from the Space Age, someone who remembers the time before. Luida talks about her experiences on Earth, and it makes you glad.

Vash walks into the lab more carefully this time, determined not to get sent away by Luida. The first thing he notices is your laugh; it melts his heart and brings a smile to his face. He is glad you get along with Luida, and he is happy that one of his oldest friends has a new person to talk to. He hears the elderly woman laugh, and as his eyes look for where the noises are coming from, his eyebrows move together into a confused frown.

"Vash!" you exclaim cheerfully, and he turns his head to the side.

"Would either of you explain what's going on?" He asks kindly, but the confusion and concern are clear in his expression.

"Oh, don't worry, I'm only strapped in because otherwise I would fall off the table." You explain your situation.

"I understand that, but it doesn't explain why you are upside down." Vash clarifies as he comes closer.

"Oh, you're right." you chuckle, "Well, I've had the same little headache for a while, and we wanted to try and find out where it comes from. I shouldn't have a headache due to the healing factor, but here it is. So we would like to compare it to a more classical headache, but it's quite hard to cause something like that in me. We hoped that excess blood in the brain might do the trick, but so far it has honestly made the other headache go away, and it makes me laugh."

Vash contorts his body more to try and see eye to eye with you without having you backwards.

"The other option is to try and give me a strong enough concussion that it won't be healed before I get into the machine." You smile at him.

"I would rather have you strapped to a table..." Vash sounds thoughtful. "Have the two of you eaten anything all day? I know your answer, Iris, but Luida, you should take care of your health too."

"You're right. We should take a break." Luida steps closer to the table where you lay, still giggling as you look at Vash. "I also have a different idea for a test; I haven't been able to conduct it before, and it might give us more insight into how your Plant connection works... and it might give us more clarity about the signals we've picked up from Iris with the sensor... All in all, very valuable data if the two of you would be willing to provide it. How is Brad? He would probably like to be part of this one."

"What test do you have in mind?" Vash smiles as you reach out to him and squeeze his cheeks in such a way that his next words come out a bit muffled: "I convinced Brad to go to sleep after he had some dinner. He made progress, but it's a waiting game now."

"Alright, maybe another day then. But I would like to do a brain scan while your Plantness is activated, marks and all. It's a unique opportunity for this, as I think neither of you currently has the capability to activate them on your own."

"We have no control over it. Every time it happens because of some crisis, I think it's subconscious. We could try if Iris is up for it, but I don't know how to do any of this on command."

"You could try mushing your forehead against mine!" You chuckle again. "Sync your brain waves! Think Planty thoughts! Or I could sing you a lullaby! That's what I did that one time... but I think only you glowed... or maybe I glowed somewhere else... I was too busy admiring you! But I don't think I glowed."

"Luida..." Vash straightens up a bit but squats down to be at eye level with you. "Is she drunk?"

"Funny you mentioned this!" Luida sounds happy. "I haven't given her anything, but her brain does seem to think she is drunk. Started to light up the same parts of the brain as drunkenness about 10 minutes after she started being upside down."

"Wait..." he says, looking over to Luida. "How long has she been hanging like this?!"

"About an hour," you grin, hands grabbing at his coat.

"That's enough. Get down!" There's concern in his voice: "You might think that you're indestructible, but you should still take care of yourself!"

"Don't be so dramatic! You should try this! It's fun!" you insist with a slight laugh.

"Luida... help me out. Please!" Vash pleads, and the older woman gives a slight chuckle before moving the bed to a horizontal position and unstrapping you.

"I feel the blood sloshing!" Your eyes are wide, but you spring up from the bed, Vash ready to catch you. "So... food?

"Yes, we should go get food, love." His arm wraps around your waist.

"She is fascinating." Luida calmly chimes in as she puts away the tablet. "From what I've found out, her bone density is higher, probably to protect her from accidentally hurting herself with her enhanced strength; otherwise, she might just snap something. Her metabolism is fast; she converts food into energy very quickly; everything is fast about her: her reaction speed, the way her brain functions, and her body itself. Also, her senses are heightened—eyesight, smell, hearing, and taste too! I'm unsure if it's an innate ability of hers and the Plant DNA enhanced what she already had or if it's completely thanks to the Plant powers. Sadly, I am not knowledgeable enough about genetic makeup and stuff like that. We could wake a specialist."

"Let's not, at least for now." You smile back at her. "It doesn't matter as significantly to me; it's not so much how my body functions; I'm more after the knowledge of what happened to make me this way. But you are so smart! You said you're a flora researcher, yet you operated all that medical machinery and understood what's happening!"

"I was trained in the basics; I think it's comparable to you getting combat training; I got medical. And then there was our specialty. Also, getting put in charge of Home comes with its own challenges, one of which is that I need to know a little bit of everything. I learned a lot from the medics before they went to sleep again."

"I can't believe how things played out after the crash... How ironic. I was meant to be the one to help everyone settle in and to help them survive, but in reality, I was nowhere to be found... I wandered off into this sandy Hell." Your voice has a note of sadness.

"Nobody can blame you for that." Vash's arm tightens around you, pulling you a bit closer, but he knows it's not enough to erase the guilt you must feel.

hhghgnm i am back. again. for a different thing. i hope you don't mind, i feel like i've talked a lot lately and yet here i am again :'] this will be a bit of a ramble, if i need to apologise at all, then i am doing so now (if not, thanks for your continued patience?? i know my tendency to ramble probably too much too often)

so. you've awakened the dormant single braincell dedicated purely to pokemon stuff. specifically with that one art for childe and zhongli (no surprises there). congration you done it. i thought it might be more considerate to collect my rambles into an ask here rather than leave a hefty tag ramble on a reblog so here i am, because i desperately need to talk to you about it- or at least ask,, no really i would love to talk about it more but that's very up to you

before anything else i want to let you know how much i internally screamed and cried that you gave childe a lantern. tears of joy. no jokes there. you're absolutely right it's perfect for him. also, it's been ages since i read pokespe especially gen 3 and 6 (if gen 6 is relevant? bc gen 3 remakes? my memory is too hazy so i have to include it just in case,, and beyond that i may not be caught up at all, as i haven't had the opportunity to play the games beyond gen 6 and so kinda fell out of stuff since then except for clinging to the stuff i already knew,,) so i need to reread those, but at least personality-wise the thought that struck me was... childe has some gold vibes?? is that. is that just me or. their general attitudes- i can't unsee it,, anyway, i also love the attention to detail with the pokeballs and alternate colour gigalith. thank you. if you apologised for pokemon nerd shining through, this pokemon nerd is rejoicing in what it sees. however dormant it may've been, pokemon was basically the thing that dominated my childhood interests so hahah,,, it's quite strong. also with the titles aside ace trainer and gentleman so true, so true indeed.

so uh.... here's the thing where i ask.... you gave them 5 each, but.... 6 is a full team, so.... :) :) :) any thoughts on, if they had a 6th, who/what it'd be (this question of full 6 pokemon teams also extends to the twins and xiao, not just childe and zhongli. should i be sorry?? i am sorry?? i would hate to think of such things mostly bc i would have a hard time because of overthinking it but i don't know what it's like for you for things like that-)? and eheheh,, can i ask permission to try teambuilding the teams for real. do you know of/use pokemon showdown? i semi-casually use it (with a hint of seriousness, but like. nothing compared to some people) every now and then mostly because testing teams is much easier there,, not that i have anything to stop me from making a team in one of the actual games, it's just. slower. and more of a process. but i really want to try it for them,, if you wouldn't mind, of course. the only thing that would annoy me in such an endeavour would be that shiny gigalith isn't actually amber-coloured. sigh. i don't even have to include not knowing gen 7+ things on that note because it's nothing a lil research and experimenting wouldn't fix, but alternate colours? sad that i can't do much about that one. ah, while I'm at it, not to be super finicky with details or anything,, haha, but hypothetically, for teambuilding, just as a question in general, what would their battle format preferences be...? just the usual singles, or...? if there would be any different preference, i am curious about

i too followed pokespe up till the start of gen5 and then kinda lost track of it, but since i'm a hoenn sucker i went back to read the oras chapters (for steven. it was all for steven). if you're wondering- i remember the story being quite decent? take it as an extra chapter for the rse arc, that's basically what it is. sadly nothing will ever top everything surrounding the first 3 regions + dpp (they get extra points for the giratina ordeal), but it was aight.

and you're absolutely right, childe has gold vibes. not an exact 1:1 but there's some things that are just too similar to overlook. alternatively, he's like an unholy mix of red and gold.

i honestly can't remember why i only gave them 5 each- i think in my mind 6 has always been far too many creatures, but 4 too little, so i always fall somewhere in the middle;; as for showdown,

that's where i planned the teams. that's literally where i went to sort thru all pokemon and pick and choose the ones that better fit. i'm a bit of a random team match enjoyer, never been one for building functional competitive teams but i do like playing so random has always been the go-to option.

if i had to give them a sixth slot, it'd probably be: for childe either a pawmot, luxray, or gengar. i feel like his team needs a bit more electric to honor his delusion beyond lanturn, or alternatively some poison or ghost to represent the Abyss. i'd also lowkey give him a nidoqueen, he seems like the kinda guy who'd have one. for zhongli it'd be either rhydon, tyrantrum, aggron, or maybe bastiodon? steel types would fit as steel comes from the earth, ultimately. claydol i could also sorta see, like some sort of living relic. if i allowed myself to pick from the starters, torterra (bc azhdaha). as a joke i'd give him drampa. i feel like almost no dragon types would fit and it lowkey frustrates me lmao for xiao i feel like another flying type would be overkill, so maybe something like an umbreon or a mightyena? he has an absol already, he'd absolutely have a mightyena. if not, then maybe a crobat? if childe has gold vibes then xiao most definitely has silver vibes, although i don't think he'd really mistreat his pokemon at all. i could also see him having an ariados or shedinja ngl for aether and lumine i gave them five bc eevee was like their childhood shared pokemon and then they sort of got matching duos, so they kind of share all five? but strictly speaking they're two different trainers. idk. if i had to give them like another shared pokemon, it'd be castform. or maybe something like a kecleon, sawsbuck, or togekiss. if we count them as separate trainers then i'd give them a pair of indeedee, to follow tradition with the meowstics and ralts line. that'd make it seven mons but it'd still be possible. i honestly don't have the brain rn for six for each tho lmao plus since they kinda share them i think they'd stop at seven. like three each to make six + eevee. if not then i lean towards castform. aether would dress it up like those images where the cloud bumps are boobs and lumine would hate him for it.

as for their battle performances, the twins would absolutely fight doubles. like you could catch them one on one but most of the time it'd be either both or neither. xiao and zhongli would be used to fighting doubles as team partners, but it wouldn't be like their main mode. i think both would've kinda gone their own ways and now fought singles, but wouldn't be against doubles on their own. childe would be singles all the way, OR triples, if only for the chaos. also childe would lowkey go into contests. i mean he has milotic, he kinda has to have been there at some point. maybe tonia wanted to see it so he agreed for his princess. or like- tonia was being bullied by mean girls for it and he decided he'd curbstomp them with a feebas.

anyway aaaaaa,, i went on a ramble again, this is really just my pokemon nerd speaking. i hope that was useful! it's nice to know i'm not the only one on this bandwagon hahah;;

Jensen: It was never in my plan, never really a dream of mine. Jensen: I more or less stumbled upon it and found something I enjoyed and could make a living doing it! Jensen: It's not so bad.

Soapscreen asks: Julianne same question? Julianne: I kind of got the acting bug, so to speak, in junior high school, doing plays. Jensen: She saw one of my commercials.

Jensen: It happens. It happened with my character. It helps to give the soaps storylines and moves the actual families along quicker. Julianne: Instead of bringing on new characters that have no family connection, it allows the writers to incorporate family in teenage storylines. Otherwise they'd have to bring on teenagers who have no connection.

Julianne: on average, a week or so, Julianne: if you ask questions, they'll steer you in the right direction, but sometimes they don't know. Jensen: Sometimes they don't even know what's going to happen with your character.

dishitout: What is the greatest accomplishment in your life? Jensen: A million sarcastic ones just went through my head. Jensen: Just moving out of the house at 18 to the 2nd largest city in the US (LA) not knowing a soul, and then being able to build a career and support myself. Julianne: There's two things: doing the missionary work that I've been able to do. Julianne: I went to India and Belize and worked with kids a lot. That I'm probably the most proud of. And recently I bought a home in Florida for my parents, which is something I dreamed of doing my whole life. Julianne: Those are two things I always wanted to do that I was able to do.

I saw myself five years ago somewhere completely different than I am today, I'm living it day to day and not trying to predict the future. Julianne: However, I hope I'm very much in love and I have a family and I hope that I'm happy, Julianne: career-wise, that would depend on my personal life. That would be on the front burner, and then my career would fall into place accordingly.

He was great, really sweet and supportive. Julianne: As an actor, he was a real giver. A couple of times he took me into his dressing room, sat me down, and gave me instructions.

I, like @martsonmars, am not a soulmate au person. Slow burn is such a great trope, and I love how much I scream at the two idiots to just kiss already. I don't like my slowburn super slow, though, otherwise I'm not left feeling that just fucking kiss feeling. (That might not make sense--I'm not explaining it well.)

fake dating or secret dating

Fake dating is a great trope in the first place, and it works especially well with friends to lovers.

enemies to lovers or best friends to lovers

Hands down, friends to lovers. (@you-remind-me-of-the-babe has heard me say multiple times before how much I love this trope.) Everything--everything--about this trope is perfect. The pining; the "What if I ruin our friendship?" moments; the looks that could be mistaken for platonic ones, but really aren't; the touches that could be mistaken for platonic ones, but really aren't... I'm a huge fan of this trope. @you-remind-me-of-the-babe and @fatalfangirl have an amazing friends to lovers fic that I highly recommend to everyone because it hit every single friends to lovers point for me.

oh no there’s only one bed or long-distance correspondence

I haven't read much fanfic for either trope, but you can never go wrong with "there's only one bed."

hurt-comfort or amnesia

I haven't read much amnesia fanfic because I'm usually indifferent to that trope, but hurt/comfort has all the right vibes and feels. Nightmare fics are *chef's kiss* and panic/anxiety attack ones hit all the right spots, too. Those are my favorite types of hurt/comfort fics (which probably ticks a lot of hurt/comfort boxes, but oh well).

fantasy au or modern au

The main fandom I write for/am in is fantasy, so modern aus are always great to see. Even with some of the other fandoms I'm in, I don't know how much I'd be interested in fantasy aus. For fic, I'd definitely prefer modern. But for books, I always like a bit of fantasy/magic in there.

mutual pining or domestic bliss

Mutual pining is one of my favorite things to read. (Writing, though, I tend to write a lot of domestic bliss/fluff.) And mutual pining plus friends to lovers? Yes, please. (If anyone has any fic recs, send them my way!) Domestic bliss is perfect for when I need something soft, but mutual pining gets me feeling things.

smut or fluff

I'm not always in the mood for smut, but you can never go wrong with some fluff.

canon-compliant or fix-it

I have read some INCREDIBLE canon compliment fics, and I'm sad that I can't remember which ones they are right now. And the canon compliment fics set between Carry On and Wayward Son? Yes, gimme ALL the angst! (My answers to the fluffy and angsty ones are all juxtaposed lol 😂) I haven't read many fix-it fics, either.

reincarnation or character death

When done right, MCD is such a good trope and has the perfect amount of angst to make me sob. I need to get a move on with reading @cutestkilla and @artsyunderstudy's MCD fics.

one-shot or multi-chapter

I have such a hard time finding the time and energy to sit down and read a chapter fic, even though I love many chapter fics dearly. One-shots are easy to open and read in one sitting.

kid fic or road trip fic

Y'know, I actually haven't read many of either. @martsonmars has an adorable kid fic involving cheeseburgers that I enjoyed immensely. And @tea-brigade has an amazing road trip fic that I also love. I think overall I'd have to go with road trip fics, though?

arranged marriage or accidental marriage

Both tropes are so good, but arranged marriage tends to hit the mark better. @otherpeoplesheartachept-2 has a wonderful arranged marriage enemies to lover fic. (I need to find the time to go back and re-read all these fics I'm bringing up.)

high school romance or middle aged romance

Watford eighth year getting together fics are great (and I've written several myself), but high school romances just really aren't my thing. And we need more middle aged romances.

time travel or isolated together

I haven't read many time travel fics, and I've never been that interested in the trope. (However, historical aus are brilliant.) And whether it be detention, getting lost, or otherwise, isolated together is a good trope.

neighbors or roommates

I have no commentary because my brain won't give me anything. But the roommates/flatmates trope is a fantastic one. Especially when paired with friends to lovers. So many tropes pair with friends to lovers really well.

sci-fi au or magic au

I'm not a sci-fi person--it's the one genre I struggled to read when my elementary school teachers made us all read a certain number of books from each genre for a grade. But I always like a little bit of magic in stuff that I read, especially in books. In fics, I'm not picky about how much magic is there. Sometimes, small, casual, domestic magic is the best kind.

body swap or gender bend

I'm not a big fan of body swap, and I don't read a lot of genderbend content, but fem!snowbaz is pretty good.

angst or crack

Angst all the way! (I mentioned above that my answers were very juxtaposed.) I prefer reading angst to writing it, but angst--especially heavy angst--is amazing. There are times where I just need fics that have angst with an unhappy ending.

apocalyptic or mundane

Mundane, especially if it's post-canon! Everyone deserves to deal with the small, annoying stuff instead of having to deal with being a soldier and killing.

I keep thinking about why it seems tumblr kids are so weird about reclaimed slurs like queer and whatnot, and based on my own experiences I've come up with a few ideas.

1. Reclaimed slurs within the lgbtq community are more complicated than some others, and often people like certainty. E.g. if you're not black, it's easy to know if saying the n word is ok: it's not. But with words like dyke, fag or even queer, I don't think the impulse to ask yourself whether you would have been targeted by someone saying this slur to hurt is a bad one. Wait wait come on let me finish, doesn't mean I think tagging '[whatever letter] slur' everywhere is the way to go. But I think thought and reflection on your actual life experiences are a good thing. That said I am so done with the annoying, inevitable 'can bi people say it?' shit when it comes to homophobic slurs. There is no need for big fuckoff barriers and gatekeeping. We're all complicated humans and the thing with life experiences is you keep having more every day, and sexuality and gender expression evolve throughout your life. A word you would say once you might find stops applying to you as an identity, and vise versa. That's why personal reflection is all I personally care about and not whatever identity you are. Not that what I say matters. But all these nuances don't translate well online and I think some people long for the simple 'if x, then don't say y'.

2. In your teens and early 20s I think extreme black and white thinking is more common, simply because you haven't had as much life experience and your brain isn't done developing. Plus it feels good to sort people into an in group and out group, because the harder you do this, the more you can belong with that in group. It seems like on tumblr and twitter a favourite way of putting people into an out group is to find some behavior your don't like, e.g. saying a word your in group deems a slur that no one should be using. That person now officially sucks and you can warn others about them, reinforcing your in group as the safe one. I remember absolutely loving this kind of thing in my early 20s, my ocd brain adored the simple black and white, good and evil ness of it all. I would mentally sort tjmblr users into good and bad. If I wasn't sure where to stand on an issue, and the middle ground wasn't an option (you could get viciously attacked and shamed all over tumblr for not being strong enough on an issue, probably you still can), then i would 'root' for the angriest side. Usually the one saying 'x is bad' and not 'x is good, because avoiding saying or doing something has to be safer than doing it, right?

Then I got a bit older (and got on the right meds but that may have been a coincidence), and fucking hell I HATE 'discourse' now. I just can't stomach it. I love nuanced arguments and not seeing issues in black and white. I don't know what people see in it but I assume if you're younger and haven't seen this stuff a billion times before, and are seeking to belong, that probably helps.

3. With the word queer in particular, a lot of people tell the same story: 'well it was all the way reclaimed, but then TERFs came along and made people say q slur and all the kids don't know!' But that story is very simplified. Often the only proof given to strengthen it is 'my college campus in the mid 2000s had a queer studies degree '. In reality most people don't go to university, and your comfort with the word queer varies greatly depending on your life experience, which is affected by age, class and your specific identities within the lgbtq community. (People don't get to tell others what to call themselves, but I don't think they do that because they fell for some TERF logic. The idea of things being very simple and black and white, good and bad may be used by TERFs but its also used by groups with basically all and any ideologies, hateful or 'social justice' or anything. And there are people on here and twitter who are very vocal about never saying queer who are trans women and/or very anti TERF, which I imagine could throw you off if someone else is telling you only TERFs don't want people to say queer.) It's a simple story but things are never really that simple. Outside of specific online space things tend to be much less cut and dry.

Also, personally, I've always found queer and what it represents to be kind of a lot to live up to, because I have a massive complex about my own identity not bring good enough for this community. My own particular hang ups are not for me to try and push on others (they suck and I'm glad for people who don't have them!), but when I see people constantly try and get queer over as the perfect identity for confused people in our community, it does rankle a little. It doesn't work for my particular brand of confused and I've found that can be a lonely place to be. I've tried hard in the past to get people to understand, but they usually respond with yet more trying to get queer over. You can end up feeling a bit of a freak after a while!

Anyway, this is a long way of saying I have sympathy for the kids trying hard to say/not say the slurs correctly. The internet is a scary place for after all, it's a place where a post you didn't really think through enough can be seen by thousands of people who all suddenly hate you VERY quickly. A lot of these kids are protecting themselves the best ways they know how. Connecting strongly with real life communities may be a good antidote but as we know,not everyone is in a place where they can do that right now. Ideally we would have online spaces for isolated lgbtq teens and early 20s take place on platforms that DONT tacitly encourage this stuff. I can only hope. The freedom to make mistakes quietly in a post on a long forgotten forum must return!!

Plot: Inspired by Taylor Swift’s new album Folklore. The story follows the timeline of Bucky and Elizabeth’s life throughout the years

"Thank-you all for coming and christening our new place," Thor thanks everyone, as he and Loki stood up at the dining table in their lit up backyard.

"Now there's one person I want to thank, my love," Thor said, reaching his hand out to Wanda who was sat to his left, Loki took his seat back down, "My love, I just want to thank-you for being by my side these last two years. I have never been as happy as I am with anyone else. Now I'm not very good with my words, but what I do know is how I feel about you. The love I have for you exceeds anything else."

"So, I just need to ask you this one question," he says, bending down on one knee, holding Wanda's left hand, while holding the ring box in the other, "Will you, Wanda Maximoff marry me?

"Yes," she cried out, throwing her arms around Thor's neck.

Everyone got up to cheer the newly engaged couple.

Steve and Elizabeth laid naked in her bed, comfortably in each other's presence after the night's activities.

"I can't believe Wanda and Thor are engaged," Elizabeth said, as Steve rubbed her arm as she laid on his chest.

"He's been talking about it for the last year," Steve tells her, "Said he didn't want to scare her off."

"Guess I'm going to have to find a new roommate," she jokes.

"Well actually, I was thinking."

"You better not be proposing to me post sex, while we're naked in bed," Elizabeth playfully jabbed his chest, looking up at him from his chest.

"No, no," Steve lets out a hearty laugh, "Not yet. We still have time for that."

"I was actually thinking, why don't we get a place together. After graduation," Steve suggests.

"What about your job?"

"I can commute," he says, "I'll be done with school in May. You still have law school after graduation, and I have no doubt Stanford is going to accept you into their law program, so you don't have to move."

"What if I don't get accepted?"

"I highly doubt you won't, but if you don't, I'm sure Columbia will snatch you up. And I'd follow you, wherever you go."

"Really?" Elizabeth asked, surprised he would even say that.

"Yeah. There's a lot of architect firms out there, and I'm sure my boss will give me a nice recommendation."

"I couldn't ask that of you Steve," Elizabeth said, getting off of his chest to sit up, grabbing the blanket to cover her chest.

"Which is why I'm offering. I want to do that Liz. This right here," he sits up, and gestures to the both, "This is all I want. So please, if it comes time for that, just let me."

"Okay. Promise you won't resent me?" She asks, feeling overwhelmed with emotion.

"Never," he seriously says, pulling her in for a kiss, and back into his arms.

As they laid in bed, Steve notices Liz is lost in her thoughts.

"Whatcha thinking about?"

"Us, and everything that's lead us to this moment. Like there were some invisible strings leading me to you," she tells him.

"Yeah, you're correct," he ponders.

"Like everything that's happened, happened for a reason. We weren't supposed to be with each other then otherwise we probably wouldn't have made it out of high school."

"You don't think?" Steve asked.

"No, because we wouldn't have been the people we are now. Let's be real here Steve, you and I are not Bucky or Peggy. We're dreamers. Full on happy ending believing people who happened to be with realists at the time. We would've been so naive about the world outside of Brooklyn," Elizabeth says.

"We had never truly experienced pain in the way that we did. If we didn't go through senior year the way that we did, we wouldn't be here. Not specifically together or in California. But we would be stuck in a life where we forced ourselves to be happy. Where we didn't have room to grow. Room to experience a different way of life. We would've been who we were as 16 year olds. And don't get me wrong but that's no way to be."

"I'm glad this happened when it did," she says tilting her head to look at Steve's face.

"Me too," he smiled kissing the top of her head.

"Wow, my arm is so tired from lugging this ring around," Wanda announces walking into Elizabeth's room where she was packing things into a suitcase.

"Must be so exhausting," Liz teases as Wanda takes a seat on her bed.

"Incredibly," Wanda smiled, "How's the packing going?"

"Good, I have everything I'll need for the next two weeks," Liz tells her, "You guys are flying in two days before Steve's birthday right?"

"Yup! Thor seems to be more excited about Steve turning 21 than he is," Wanda laughs, "Next up will be you next month. Vegas won't be ready for us."

"Thor really is going out for all of our 21st birthdays, is he."

"He's excited we're all legally allowed to drink," Wanda says.

"So," Wanda shifted in her seat, "Are you guys going to the baby shower?"

"Yeah we are," Liz nodded her head, "Things have been better, and Steve really wants to be there for Bucky, and so do I."

"How are you feeling about it all?"

"Honestly, if Bucky is happy then so am I."

"It doesn't bother you even the slightest that he's having a baby with the woman he cheated on you with?"

"No," Liz shakes her head, "We've both moved on and grew from our situation. I'm happy with Steve, truly 100% happy. I know in my heart that Steve is the one."

"Whoa, wait, back that up," Wanda immediately shot up from her spot on the bed, "He's the one?"

"Yeah," Liz bascule smiles, her cheeks turning a slight pink.

"I mean, I knew that you loved him, but I don't think you've ever said out loud that he was the one."

Elizabeth shrugs her shoulders trying to fight off the huge grin that wants to spread across her face, "Well he is."

"Wow, umm this is great news," Wanda says looking around the room.

"What's wrong?" Liz asks taking in Wanda's sudden mood change.

"I just," Wanda coughed, trying to fight back the ball in her throat, her eyes tearing up, "I'm so happy for you. God this ring is making me incredibly emotional."

"Aw Wands," Elizabeth pulled her into a hug.

"You just deserve to be with someone who truly thinks the world of you and would move those worlds for you," Wanda cries in Liz's shoulder, "I just remember you telling me all about the shit you went through with Bucky in high school, and then the crap he put you through freshman year. You were just so over the idea of love. Even with steve you were so cautious, so just to hear you say that he's the one. I'm just so incredibly happy."

Elizabeth hugged Wanda tightly, tears streaming down her face. It meant the world to her to hear Wanda say those things. She felts so incredibly lucky to have a friends like her in her life.

"I better be your maid of honor," Wanda teased pulling away and wiping her tears, "Because you already know you're mine."

"I wouldn't have it any other way."

"We still need to get a baby shower gift for tomorrow," Elizabeth told Steve as they lounged around his childhood bedroom. Steve was sat at his desk sketching, while Elizabeth laid in his bed reading a book.

"I can do that if you want," Steve offered, not wanting to make Elizabeth uncomfortable no matter how many times she's told him she was fine.

"Somehow I don't think I can trust you getting the correct gift," Elizabeth teased.

"Babies like legos right?" He teased back, getting up to join her on the bed, laying his head down on her stomach.

"We can go together, I still need to get a few things for the party next weekend," she said playing with his hair.

Steve hummed in response, feeling himself getting tired, "A quick little nap and we'll go."

"Sounds good," she smiled at the man snuggled up on her.

The next day the couple were walking into the Barnes' backyard, hand-in-hand with a gift bag.

They were both instantly greeted by Bucky's mother Winnie.

"Oh you two made it!" She enthusiastically greeted them, pulling them both into a hug.

"Of course. We wouldn't have missed it," Steve smiled at her.

"Thank-you," she turned to Liz and grabbed her hand, "both of you. James really appreciates it. We all do. Especially with everything that has happened, he's going to need his best friends."

"You don't have to thank us," Liz says, "We'll always be there for Bucky. No matter what happens."

"Well thank-you," she smiles, and then turns to Steve, "Steve the men have been sent inside, so you can see your way inside."

"Already getting pushed aside," he jokes.

He placed a kiss on Elizabeth's cheek, "I'll be inside if you need me."

She nodded her head, then glanced around the yard and caught eye contact with an old high school classmate, Natasha's friend, rolling her eyes at the couple.

She cleared her throat, "Where do the gifts go?"

"Over at that table where Rebecca is at," Winnie smiled, and pointed to the table to the right where Rebecca was organizing all the gifts. Liz thanked her and made her way over.

Liz couldn't help but start to feel a bit uncomfortable. She hadn't planned for she and Steve to be separated for the entire party. She didn't really know anyone here, aside from Bucky's family, where things were still a bit awkward after last summer.

Even though things were good between Steve, Bucky, and her, it was still awkward. She and Natasha don't have the best history, they still haven't talked everything out, clear the air. Not that Nat owed Elizabeth a conversation, she just thought that now that things were okay, maybe them two can work on their relationship, for the sake of Bucky. But whenever Liz tried to reach out Nat would just say that she was busy, so she didn't push it. Not with Natasha being pregnant, plus she figured now that she was in town for two weeks that maybe they could get together for a quick chat.

"Hey Liz," Rebecca greeted her, a sigh of relief to see a friendly face.

"Hey Bec," she smiled, hugging the teen.

"God, I'm so glad to see you," Rebecca said pulling back from the hug, "Some of these girls are real bitches."

Liz was taken back for a second hearing Rebecca swear, it's sometimes hard to believe that tiny little toddler is now this young lady about to enter her senior year of high school.

"I'm sure they're not so bad," Liz said trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.

"Really? Because they're looking at you like you just murdered their entire family," Rebecca said.

Elizabeth turned around to see Natasha's friends huddled in a semi-circle around Natasha, all whispering and glaring at her. She turned back around to Rebecca and gave her a force smile.

Rebecca felt bad at bringing that to Liz's attention. Liz was always so nice to her, and even continues to keep in contact with her especially when Rebecca needs any help or advice.

"I can take that," she said trying to change the subject.

"Thank-you," she quietly said, handing over the gift bag to Rebecca.

"They're just jealous," Rebecca tells her, "Even with having my brother's child, Natasha still can't find it in her cold hearted heart to be nice to you."

"She doesn't owe me anything."

"Now that's not true. She owes you a lot, and the least she can do is be nice, especially with my mother throwing her this baby shower and allowing her to live with us until she and Bucky find a place."

"She's living here?" Elizabeth asked, surprised to hear that. Bucky never mentioned Nat living with them, they did know that they were looking at places closer to his job and school.

"Yeah, she moved in probably two months ago, when she really started to show," Rebecca tells her, "Apparently she hadn't told her dad, and once she started showing she had to confess. He kicked her out. Said she was ruining her life."

"That's intense," Elizabeth said.

"Yup. So my mom and Keith are letting her stay until they find a place of their own," Rebecca says, "And as much as I love my brother I can't wait til she's gone. He's an idiot for knocking her up."

"She can't be that bad," Liz said trying to give Nat the benefit of the doubt.

"Trust me Liz, she is. Being pregnant has made her a complete devil," Rebecca stresses, "My mom is way too nice to have that be the mother of her first grandchild."

Before Liz could respond to that, someone came up behind her.

"Oh Becky, I wanted the gifts to be color coordinated," Natasha remarked, with her hand on her belly.

"My mom told me to do it by size," Rebecca rolled her eyes, "And my name's Rebecca."

"But Becky is so cute."

"No it's not," Rebecca argued.

"Hi Natasha," Elizabeth awkwardly greeted, breaking up the conversation.

"Oh hi Elizabeth," Natasha stiffly said, forcing a smile on her face as she rubs her belly, "Didn't think you would show up."

"Oh, well Steve told Bucky we were coming," she explains.

"Of course he did."

"You look pretty," Elizabeth complimented her to try and break the tension.

"I know. I'm absolutely glowing carrying Bucky's child," she replied with a snarky tone.

"I'm really happy for you both."

"Sure you are," she rolled her eyes.

"No, I truly am. That's why I actually wanted to talk to you about. I was wondering if maybe we can get together sometime this next week, to talk," Liz suggests.

"There's no need," Nat tells her, "I get what you're doing. You think that getting on my good graces will put you in Bucky's good graces, but I hate to break it to you, that's not going to happen. I'm trying my best here to be polite to you, but once this baby is born, I'll make sure Bucky no longer makes time for you and Steve. I am his life now, and we don't have space in it for you both."

"Nat-"

"Thanks for the gift, hopefully the gift receipt is in the bag," Natasha fake smiled, "Enjoy the party."

"Fix the gifts Becky," she turned to Rebecca enunciating 'Becky', before walking away to go back to her friends.

"Told you she was the devil," Rebecca commented, ignoring Natasha's request.

"Yeah, you weren't lying," Elizabeth turned to look at Nat who was laughing with her friends.

Steve and Elizabeth said their final goodbyes a couple of hours later, and walked back to their rental car.

"That went well, don't you think?" Steve commented on as he started the car.

"Yeah it did," she lied.

Elizabeth decided it was probably best not to bring it up to Steve. He and Bucky just fixed their relationship, that she was afraid if she told Steve that Bucky wouldn't believe them. She would just have to hope that Bucky wouldn't allow their friendship to take another hit. She had faith that their friendship was stronger than that.

"Do you mind if we made a stop somewhere?" Steve asks her as he pulls away from the curb.

"No, of course not."

"Perfect. We just have to make one quick pit stop before," he says a few minutes later, parking in a parking lot of a cafe.

Steve walked back out of the cafe with a picnic basket.

"What's that for?" She asked smiling as he got in, putting the basket in the backseat.

"Just wait and see," he winked.

15 minutes later they were pulling up to a park.

"A park?"

"Thought we could have an impromptu picnic date," he smiles, "Wait here."

He got out of the car and grabbed the basket from the backseat. She heard him close and open the trunk. He then opened her door.

"Mi lady," he held his hand open for her to take.

"Oh why thank-you kind sir," she giggled taking his hand.

He led her to a nice spot on top of a hill, overlooking the park.

"Can you hold this for me real quick," he asked, holding out the picnic basket for her.

She took it from him as he laid out the blanket. Steve took the basket back and started to unpack the contents and laid them out on the blanket for them.

"A little dinner at sunset," he offered his hand so she can sit down next to him on the blanket.

"This was perfect Steve," she kissed his cheek, as they finished off their little dinner.

"Just thought I'd thank-you for coming with me today," he says wrapping his arm around her, as she leaned into him.

"You don't have to thank me."

"I know I don't, but I want to. I know you say you were fine with today, and I completely believe you, but I also know that even if you're okay with it, it's still can be uncomfortable," he says, "So I just want to show you how appreciative I am of you."

"I love you," she leans her head up to capture his lips with her's.

"Steve whats with the blind fold," Elizabeth giggled in the passenger seat of their rental car.

"It's a surprise," he laughed, "Now just be patient, we're almost there."

"Steve, come on you know I hate surprises."

"You liked the last surprise I gave you," he teased.

"It was a kitten, that's different," she smiled.

"You still loved it," he said, "Plus we're here already."

"Oh that was quick," she said reaching to take her blindfold off.

"Don't," he warned her, "Not yet."

Steve helped her out of the car, and linked their arms together as he led her to the surprise.

"Okay, we're here," he nervously said, he took her blindfold off.

Liz adjusted her eyes after being in the dark for the past 30 minutes. When she opened her eyes, she was greeted with a lantern lit up picnic on top of the hill at the park.

"Surprise," Steve said behind her.

Liz turned around to find Steve down on one knee, with an opened ring box.

"Steve," she gasped.

He took her left hand into his own.

"Elizabeth Carolina Sanchez, words can't even explain how much I am in love with you, but I'm going to try. I don't think i can remember back to a time where you weren't a part of my life, and honestly i don't want to. You've made me so incredibly happy these last almost seven years, and no matter how much I say I'm appreciate of you, i don't think it's ever going to be enough. Getting to wake up to you every day to you smiling at me, honestly i don't think there's a greater thing in the world. I'd give the entire world, if it meant that I got to see you smile every day of my life. I don't ever want to imagine a life without you. You've made me the best person I could ever want to be. There's not a day that doesn't go by where you don't continuously tell me how proud you are of me, and the endless amount of support and love you've given me. There's no one I'd rather spend my entire life with. Start a family with. Be a family with. So, Elizabeth, will you do me the greatest honor of marrying me?"

"Yes," Elizabeth choked out, as the tears streamed down her face. She lunged herself into Steve's arms and kissed him.

"I love you so much," she cried.

"I love you too," he said, pulling her into another kiss.

They pulled away, and Steve placed the ring on her finger.

"I love you," she said again.
