PROGRESS UPDATE!

so... i finally made some very good progress. i revised the whole TCS chapter for each individual route and decided to branch them off in different directions. this gave me a huge amount of headache, but ultimately, i was able to scrape off the irrelevant parts and start the rewriting process. this is gonna be highly rewarding, but also a pain in my ass. i'm not regretting it so far tho

on another note, i finally finished writing chapter one of the not-so-top-secret greek mythology project (discord peeps know what's up 👀) i was working on. i'll be writing chapter two in-between the rewriting of TCS. i had my girlfriend, aka the loml (@acourtofserpents <3), unintentionally end up being my editor and she likes it so far. she may be a little biased but it was still pretty good to hear. it will be released before TCS as i've already completed the first chapter and i wanna gauge if it's received well enough to make a blog of its own tbh.

44k written and about 5k to go. The biggest fic I've ever written stright through. I have so many other fun things to write when this is done too!

I recently met Jennika in the idw comics and now i have Family Web thoughts.

(i had said a while ago that i probably wouldn't add Jennika or Venus until i knew more about them. Well here we are. for jennika at least. Still haven't met Venus (if she's even in the idw comics. everyone else is so i kinda expect to see her at some point) but i have a way of adding her in as well, which i might do regardless.)

I'm not sure i have words enough today to explain my entire thought process on Jennika here, but i'm going to certainly try. under the cut b/c it might end up rambling

Jennika is the turtles' bio little sister born months after their disappearance. I'm not sure if Lou knew about her before everything went down (i'm thinking not since i'd imagine it was fairly new news to even Mama and she just didn't have the time to tell him.)

Her Spider traits are visibly subtle unless she is actively showing them off. Her eyes are red (and can be entirely red w/ a bit of a glow like mama's spider eyes) and her teeth are pointed. She can also stick to surfaces (which she does a lot) and she might do webs like mikey (i'm still debating that one.)

Jennika grew up fairly isolated b/c Mama already lost her other four and she didn't want to risk loosing Jennika as well. She had tutors for everything. She excels in dance class and when she showed interest in martial arts, she was given a teach and excelled in that too.

She idolizes her mother and, having grown up being told about her older brothers (and promises that they would be reunited one day) she idolizes them as well. Well, she idolizes the versions of them she's mentally imagined over the last 12 years. So meeting them in person would be a bit of a shock since she was expecting four perfect brothers and, instead, got four goobers who think that even frozen pizza is a delicacy.

She can already use her mystics pretty reliably (via a mystic conduit like the boys' weapons). Hers is basically just shadow clones that she can (maybe) mystically switch places with when needed.

She usually hangs out on the ceiling of mama's office when she's not in classes. But, once she turned 13, was finally able to convince Mama to let her help a little more directly. Since then she has posing as Mama's assistant (though mama insists that she must use a clone if the task is anything other than standing next to Mama. Jennika doesn't always listen to this rule.)

I might have more, but i can't think of it right now. so just enjoy some concept art for the turtle's little sister, i guess.

Hey, lovelies! I'm sorry I'm behind on answering asks and engaging in general. Work is a bit crazy, but hopefully good things will be on the horizon for me in the next few months with my company. I also won't be around much this weekend since I'm surprising my kiddos with a trip to the movie theater and an amusement park. Fun and exhausting!

💫Hihi tmblr!! Zaacoy update post!!💫

So for a little over a month my physical health has been in rapid decline. Started off mild! Thought it was just a particularly bad bout of allergies or some infection, began racking up more and more issues and weird symptoms, it became debilitating after a few weeks, and I was taken to the ER and admitted to the hospital. Which is a good thing because the specialists there were really quickly able to figure out what the actual issue was! Turns out that I have a pretty bad autoimmune disorder and that for the past month or so my body was pretty much self destructing! :D! Spent a really long hard week in the hospital figuring that out but! We were able to catch this thing really early before it caused any substantial long term damage to me and my body seems to be able to take the medicine I need to not die from this just fine. So I'm safe!! And alive!! Hooray!! Still a bit shaken from the whole debacle but I'm on the road to recovery and better health now! I got discharged from the hospital yesterday, very happy to be home!!

Over the past week they've had to prick me and put IVs in both arms for blood draws and medication purposes about a dozen times all put together so my hands, wrists, and arms are currently very ouchy and fragile at the moment. They'll take a couple days to heal and then I should finally be able to comfortably draw again!! I've missed drawing a lot, very very excited to finally get be able to get back into it!! x3!! And that of course means more freenoodles and other zaacoy art soon! yippee yippeeee

I'm not very good at keeping tmblr updated on things as they go on, apologies for just disappearing for a bit ehe ,:3 I've seen ALL of the stuff sent to my ask box and I'll starting working on getting to it soon! ive finally beat the dlc for cassette beasts which means I have like 90% of the story done (before I grind the board) but also I just have to say (spoilers if u haven't beaten the game + dlc yet, also kind of me just being a hater so if you don't feel like reading negative stuff about this game, Then Dont)

the writing with Gwen is kind of weird. honestly the archangels as a whole are weird (especially with morgante being like "okay now I have to kill u teehee as is my nature" after you stop like untold death and destruction. But That's For Another Day)

like am I supposed to feel bad for her? sure she's lonely but I mean. the whole trying to do live experiments on humans thing. viewing them as like straight-up animals instead of like, people. and only promising not to do it, not because it's wrong, but because we as the player character are stronger than her. obviously she'd like have this whole outlook being a god and all, and the game does kind of have a heavy theme with "might makes right" since it's an rpg and The Good Guys™ need a way to like initiate the main gameplay of the game in order to get rid of/convince The Bad Guys™ but uh. why is she then cast in a sympathetic light after she throws a Godly Temper-Tantrum and just goes. oh well you beat me, that's why I won't experiment on peeps, because you beat me, and not because it has many ethical flaws.

And Ok I Get That This Is A Kids Game but if u know me I love complaining about the writing in kid's games and I feel like it would make Gwen a more compelling character if she like, learned to Literally Not Dehumanize Humans Just Because She Perceives Herself As A Superior Lifeform. im getting fucking hatecrimed by these immortals man. what's the point if she doesn't have any character growth and just thinks something is bad without actually knowing why it's bad.

the gods in this game are fucken weird man. like pretty much every one of them has contempt for humans, or at least treats humans as lesser lifeforms just because they aren't as powerful as them. even the fucking mer-line is like "ugh mortals are Below me I'm sending magikrab to go talk to them instead." while presumably being the one who's sending everyone to new wirral when there's no way back. so-

if Gwen is supposed to be a character that's different from the other archangels in the fact that she's fascinated with humans and wants to be around them, whyyy isn't she given more character growth to make her overcome her inherent biases as a Literal God. maybe bytten has more planned for her later down the line but her story felt pretty self-contained and not much else is gonna happen with it Sooo. :) yet another character that I despise (exaggerating) that seeks sympathy even tho they've done nothing to warrant it
