Random question, Prince but do you think Victoria or Gerard had military backgrounds? Maybe serving themselves or had parents that served?
Tumblr media
I want to preface this answer with a caveat: this might be the most speculative meta I've ever written. While I'm going to try to draw as much evidence as I can from canon, I don't think it would be out-of-the question for people to disregard it on its surface merits.
So, here goes. I don't think that the Argents would join the military and they would strongly discourage their children from joining the military. I'm sure that during the time of the draft there might have been some Argents serving, but it would be under duress. If you accept the same head canon that I do, that Victoria was also from a hunting family, she would not be either. I think the reasons would be historical, practical, and philosophical.
Historical: Of all the characters in the Teen Wolf series, Marie-Jeanne Argent née Valet had the most emotionally true (if not entirely rational) reaction to the discovery that her beloved relative turned out to be one of the most prolific serial killers in that world let alone a terrifying demonic werewolf. As we see in The Maid of Gévaudan (5x18), she reacted with outright condemnation, hunting him down over three years and destroying all trace of him with a damnatio memoriae, which in reality meant destroying her own past, too. We can assume that the Argent Code was written by her, including the part where any hunter who was Bit by a werewolf had to kill themselves. This is extreme behavior (even if valid) and it is echoed in the revulsion non-corrupted Argents like Chris and Allison had when discovering Kate's and Gerard's crimes. It was certainly less permissive than the Hale family's tendency to react to deaths caused by their family which ranged from outright condoning ("But still beautiful, just like the rest of you") to dismissive (after all, how many people did kooky Uncle Petey kill, including the guy he shoved alive into a burning barrel, and still have the keys to the family home?).
Considering that Sebastian became a demon wolf while he was serving in the French king's war with England across an entire ocean in their respective colonies, I don't think it's a stretch for Marie-Jeanne in establishing her code to steer her descendants away from military service. It might even have been a requirement.
Practical: While both the military and hunters use weapons, military service wouldn't seem to bear much resemblance to hunter training. It appears to me to be much closer to espionage or criminal work. Hunting werewolves requires training in specific weapons (bows, tasers, and poisons), technology (hypersonic emitters), and techniques (torture, infiltration, intimidation, and cleaning up evidence). In addition, the soldiers of the Argent family exhibit a level of discernment when it comes to tactics and targets that the military simply would not tolerate. Chris points as much out to Kate in Code Breaker (1x12):
Chris: No one asked you to murder innocent people. There were children in that house, ones who were human. Look what you're doing now. You're holding a gun on a 16-year-old boy with no proof he spilled human blood.
Later on in Relics (6x04), Chris explains that he should have intervened when he saw how Gerard was training Kate. That implies to me that while Argent soldiers are supposed to follow the lead of the matriarch, they're also expected to do more than just follow orders. While civilization demands we hold individual military soldiers to answer for their conduct, I can tell you from personal experience that military training does not have a goal to instill a sense of individual agency.
Philosophical: In my encounters with real-life military people, it is my experience that they see themselves and the military as a whole as an immanent part of society itself. They enable civilization to exist; they uphold society's laws and mores as one of its pillars. I am sure that many people on this site would disagree with that assessment, but I'm talking about the perception within military culture itself. The military focus on being a vital part of their country, and when they err it is when they come to believe that they are the most important part and thus have a greater right to say how a country and a civilization will behave.
One of the things I've noticed about the Argents and the other hunting family feature, the Calaveras, is that they don't consider themselves part of the greater society. They see themselves as protecting it from monsters that the average person cannot comprehend, and while they certainly do infiltrate law enforcement and emergency services, they don't seek permanent authority over the mundane social institutions. This is one of the significant departures that marked Monroe as different from previous organized hunters, and one that made her more dangerous. Victoria, Araya, Chris and Allison (and when they weren't being selfishly corrupt, even Gerard and Kate) saw themselves as operating outside of it all as a necessity. They work with criminals like the yakuza; they hire mercenaries; and they understand that they will never be fully accepted.
Chris: We're gonna be pariahs in this town. Victoria: We can handle it.
Monroe, on the other hand, organized hunters to protect society, but she wanted to change society as well. She accused the werewolves not only of being monsters by virtue of their natures and by their acts, but by the power that privileged them ("No one should have this power"), and she accused people like Sheriff Stilinski of abetting that unfair advantage. (I will never forgive Teen Wolf for giving up on exploring that difference half-way through 6B.) Since Gerard was only interested in using Monroe, he didn't train to see herself the way he and his family saw themselves: protectors working from the outside.
All these things lead me to believe that the Argents wouldn't have military training, not even corrupt ones like Gerard or Victoria.

overthinking quickening and the old hunter's bone aka the cope theory
the old hunter's bone is an item that gives the player hunter the art of "quickening" (dude if this was intentional this was a 10/10 translation job), which increases your roll and quickstep speed. visually, the player appears to disappear into a moving puff of smoke. this short video demonstrates the effect:
youtube
item description:
The bone of an old hunter whose name is lost. It is said that [they were] an apprentice to old Gehrman, and a practitioner of the art of Quickening, a technique particular to the first hunters. It is appropriate that hunters, carriers of the torch who are sustained by the dream, would tease an old art from his remains.
editing mine. a rare objective translation error; the original japanese is ungendered and it does in fact turn out that gehrman's apprentice was a woman. the description is as intriguing as it is incomprehensible. lets break it down:
first the basics: the number of hunters that can use the quickening without an item can be counted on one hand: gerhman the first hunter, lady maria (his apprentice) and I THINK the vermin infested old hunters in the DLC (i will need to double back to check for sure u_u but theres a gif of at least one of them doing it on the fandom wiki). on the other hand, since the player character is not an old hunter and did not practice "quickening". therefore, they have to use the old hunter's bone to gain the same effect for a short time at the expense of their quicksilver bullets. only one other NPC hunter uses this item: the bloody crow of cainhurst.
the old hunter's bone is found in gehrman's abandoned workshop at a grave strongly implied to belong to lady maria, his apprentice. we would, therefore, have to assume its lady maria's bone. but, i can hear you say, isn't that bone a tibia? lady maria has both of her legs!
but....does she?
she's completely covered up from head to toe. we don't know for sure. but we do know that you can do your quickening with only one leg and move completely unhindered on a prosthetic; gehrman is proof positive of this. there are a number of clothing items that reference the removal of the right leg because that's where they believed that the beast scourge originated from. in hindsight, its obvious that this was because of all the wolf infected blood they were unknowingly injecting into themselves via their right leg.
in fact, the statues at cainhurst reflect this belief as well. the statues of knights in the queen's throne room are all missing their right leg.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the bloody crow of cainhurst is a weird wannabe guy so he probably got his bone from the corpses of one of these knights. the people of cainhurst and their ancestors, the pthumerians, both have some form of enemy that can disappear and re-appear or pass through tables. quickening-esque abilities.
the point of this is mostly this: i do not think that maria's entire body was buried at her grave, just the part of her that was left behind: her severed leg. the rest of her was captured in the hunter's nightmare. much like how ludwig's body does not exist outside of the nightmare. they are not "dream versions" of the characters made of their consciousness or some stupid shit there's no precedent for and sucks ass. they are physically trapped.
this extends to laurence and wraps back around to my "laurence is objectively the headless bloodletting beast" thing in spite of his stupid appearance in the DLC. the objective canon im choosing to go with is that DLC laurence was a last minute terrible idea retcon based on the fact that its literally just a reskinned cleric beast and has no concept art or appearances in art books. laurence is the only one who breaks every known convention in the game while simultaneously being one of the most overly ham-fisted addition to a game

Clan Roles
Every Clan has roles meant to keep the Clan working smoothly. Every cat gets a job, every cat works towards moving up in that job. Work is very important to the Clan cats, and becoming the head of a job is seen as the end goal for most cats.
But what are these jobs? And what other roles keep the Clan alive? Well, I'm here to introduce you to quite a few jobs and other roles! There's quite a few more than in canon.
Leader
There is one leader in every Clan. The leader is supposed to lead their Clan, making all the important decisions, whether that be starting a battle or a war.
They've been specially chosen by the Stars, given nine lives to ensure their rule lasts far longer. This also means they can call upon StarClan to witness rituals, ceremonies, and naming.
It's important to note that leaders don't sit around doing nothing. Leaders are expected to also be very active, joining cats on patrols or in battles. They have those nine lives for a reason.
Deputy
There is one deputy in every Clan. The deputy is the leader's most trusted cat, one the leader believes will be a good leader once they lose their last life. The deputy's job is also very important, as while they don't make the important decisions, they are in charge of all patrols.
The deputy mostly does the same duties they had before becoming deputy, though if they weren't a warrior, they must go through at least four moons--one in each season--where they live as a warrior, hunting and fighting alongside their Clanmates. It's important a deputy understands how to send out the best patrols they can for each day.
Herbalist
Clans will typically have at least three herbalists, though it often fluctuates. Herbalists are the cats that tend to the sick and wounded, as well as receive prophecies, signs, and omens from the Stars above.
Herbalists go through a long training period, the longest of all the jobs. Their training averages around twelve whole moons, from six moons old to eighteen, though that doesn't account for exceptionally talented (or untalented) cats.
An herbalist must know what plants are helpful, what plants are poisonous, how to prepare each plant, as well as non-herbal treatments for various ailments. Though it's not inherently required, most herbalists also exhibit a strong tie to the Stars, allowing them to receive prophecies.
An herbalist is forbidden by Clan Code to have kits, known as the Petal-Cream Law, named after Falling Petals and Pelt of Cream, two herbalists that had kits together.
Working Adult
This is the majority of adult cats in the Clan. These are cats that have completed training and have earned their job and adult name. These cats have varying training times, depending on their job.
Warrior
The most common path for an apprentice to go down, warriors are the main fighters and hunters, in charge of doing patrols, hunting prey, and fighting battles in the name of their Clan. Most warriors have basic knowledge of field herbs and cooking. The typical training period for a warrior is around six moons, from six moons old to twelve.
Cook
Another common path, cooks are very important to every Clan, in charge of cooking prey and making dishes for everyone to enjoy. These cats must have good taste and scent, very few allergies, and a sharp memory. It's not uncommon for cooks to assist with hunting or gathering herbs. The typical training period for a cook is around nine moons, from six moons old to fifteen.
Strategist
Strategists are far different from other jobs in that apprentices are not trained to be a strategist. Warriors who show a clear talent for thinking about battles tactically are often offered a chance to become a strategist, at which point they'll train under a mentor like an apprentice. Strategists are in charge of finding and teaching advanced battle techniques, strategies, and tactics. The typical training period for a strategist is only three moons, given a cat chosen for this usually has an established understanding of battle tactics.
Storyteller
A rare path for apprentices to take, storytellers are some of the most important cats in a Clan, in charge of memorizing stories and writing new ones. Because all storytelling is oral, storytellers allow the Clans to recall history through dramatized retellings of big events. The typical training period for a storyteller is around eight moons, from six moons old to fourteen.
Denkeeper
One of the least appreciated, yet most important roles to the Clans. These cats are in charge of upkeep of dens and building new ones if needed, cleaning dens and bedding, and removing pests or parasites. While cleaning doesn't require training, building does, and they need a lot of training, from learning structural support to different kinds of dens and materials. The typical training period for a denkeeper is around eight moons, from six moons old to fourteen.
Caretakers
There's always at least one caretaker in every Clan. Caretakers are the cats in charge of caring for the young of the Clan, whether they're mothers, fathers, or even just cats that wish to help kitsit. Permanent caretakers will void their duties and move into the nursery, ready to help nursing queens or take in abandoned kits.
Apprentices
Every cat goes through an apprenticeship, typically once they reach six moons of age, though an apprenticeship can be delayed depending on circumstances. Apprentices are cats in training, whether adolescent (typical) or even an adult (recruited later). Apprentices have to learn their trade, as well as complete basic training all apprentices must learn (cooking, self defense, and field herbs). They also often do labor around camp, such as changing bedding, caring for the elders' fur, and minor pest control.
Elders
The oldest cats in the Clan, elders are the most respected of all Clan members aside from the leader. They are the wisest and most knowledgeable, and are even generally allowed to voice concerns over a leader's call. These cats no longer have duties or schedules, and are free to do whatever with their time. A cat becomes an elder of their own volition, and traditionally, they will receive an honor name to celebrate their abilities, feats, or even scars. These cats typically eat before anyone else, only preceded by kittens and nursing caretakers.

IF HE EVER managed to discover the twist of fate (or Fate) that had Frigga showing up in the middle of Loki's diatribe against the death of Odin and broken vows made to gods, Gabriel was absolutely going to have to do some pretty grand gestures of gratitude. Despite still being visibly in mourning for her murdered husband, Frigga had been absolutely incensed over what Loki had planned to do to the Archangel "in retribution" for something that she had already Seen wasn't even his fault and which he had tried repeatedly to stop to his own detriment. Furthermore, given her general purview, Frigga had already "read ahead in this story" and had no intention of losing more family members to senseless acts of unnecessary revenge.
"All that research you have done into binding an Archangel might be better served offered to that little Seraph who is trying to keep our Gabriel's third brother from picking up where the eldest two left off before his desperation drives him to do something all of us will regret," she had told Loki tartly, and promptly taken Gabriel out of her brother-in-law's presence and off to the tender mercies of Asgard's healers.
Gabriel heard about the eventual showdown after the fact once Eir had deigned to release him from her clutches and he had managed to track down the "little Seraph" in question. Castiel had been understandably wary to have another Archangel in front of him so soon after having dealt with Raphael, but he was at least willing to listen when Gabriel explained where he had been (stuck in Asgard first in their prison because Loki was pissed off that Lucifer killed Odin, and then in the Healers' Hall) and what he wanted (to find out what the hell was going on because the rumors were wild) and what he planned to do now (to go back to as much of his former life here on Earth as he could manage, preferably with less dying). Hearing from Castiel about the second War of Heaven was heart-wrenching enough that Gabriel was begrudgingly willing to admit that Frigga and Eir had been right to keep him bedridden for as long as they had. Hearing what had happened to Sam and Dean Winchester while said second War was happening had not been any better, especially when he heard about the damage to Sam's soul and how one of Raphael's agents had broken the wall in his mind that Death had put up as a distraction technique, and to his own aggravated dismay Gabriel felt a very strong need to see them for himself to make sure they were really all right now.
He had been expecting just about anything from a holy fire Molotov (nice one, Cassie) to an attempted staking for old time's sake. He had not been expecting to find Dean on the verge of a nervous breakdown carefully hidden behind a mask of rage while Sam thrashed on the floor as if reacting to blows from an unseen opponent in eerie silence. Hallucinations, Castiel had whispered silently across their Grace connection, brought on by the trauma inflicted on his soul in the Cage. And that... that was equal parts heartbreaking and horrifying, because it was Gabriel's brothers who had done this to Sam and it had been Gabriel's desperate Hail Mary half a plan that had led to them doing it. The guilt that swamped him in that moment of realization was probably what made him temporarily take leave of his senses enough to show himself, ignoring Dean's startled cursing and the resulting scuffle as Castiel had to wrestle the agitated hunter's gun away from him when Gabriel's Grace touched Sam and the younger hunter started screaming. Healing wasn't his forte, but Gabriel was all too familiar with his brothers' respective tactics and handiwork, and he had just enough of his energy left to see Sam's eyes flutter open, clear and aware and wide with shock, before Gabriel's own rolled back and his Grace shut down his vessel to conserve itself enough to heal again.
The fact that he woke up some two months later in a human hospital was both reassuring and a little disheartening, but at least the Winchesters hadn't just left him on the floor of that rickety old cabin.
It only took a day to discover that they hadn't actually left him as Sam appeared in the doorway to his hospital room just before visiting hours would have been over, Dean not far behind. The relief on the younger Winchester's face at seeing him awake was a surprise, as was the dismay that replaced it when Gabriel asked if Sam was okay.
"Am I okay?" Sam had exclaimed incredulously. "Cas said you just got done healing when you showed up and promptly put yourself into a coma fixing my head, and you ask me if I'm okay?!"
"Well, I'd hate for my efforts to be wasted, but there's only so much of your head I can fix," Gabriel had deflected jokingly, only to end up with an armful of emotional hunter who couldn't seem to decide between laughing and crying and so was doing both at once.
"Man, you gotta stop dying on us, Gabe," Dean said over his brother's sobs in a tone that more closely matched Gabriel's own, if a bit more gruff. "It's becoming a habit."
"I'll try and break it if you two chuckleheads do," Gabriel grumbled irritably, and was rewarded with a somewhat wet laugh into his shoulder.
It took about as long for them to hash out just what that deal would end up looking like as it did for Gabriel to be discharged from the hospital, bills paid with his own money and prescriptions for painkillers that were promptly discarded. It had to be renegotiated when Abaddon showed up chasing Henry Winchester through time and the brothers almost didn't call him because he was only a week out of the hospital and they didn't immediately think a Knight of Hell qualified as an emergency. Eventually they settled into something of a loose sort of check-in schedule that worked for all of them so long as they pretended that it was just about hanging out.
To everyone's surprise except Castiel's, that worked out just fine.
Or at least it was supposed to. Gabriel was starting to have some doubts about that as he stared in dismay at the sight in front of him. He had privately entertained more than three or four fantasies about popping in on the Winchesters to find Sam naked in the bath, but this was a far cry from what his imagination usually conjured up. For one thing, the bathtub in question was a tiny and cramped motel bathtub instead of a jaccuzzi the size of a king bed. For another, the already tiny tub appeared even tinier when Sam's lower half was distinctly less human-shaped than Gabriel was used to.
Gabriel let his eyes rake over the usually long and lanky form that was now even longer, giving visual appreciation to the more familiar but still rarely seen bare arms and shoulders and well-sculpted muscled torso and abs. His eyes tracked further to where the sun-bronzed skin became shimmery with tiny translucent scales that got bigger and more vibrant as they went down, normally long and powerful legs now fused together into a single solid limb that could never even hope to be contained by the tub's short and narrow dimensions. Sam himself clearly realized it, too, as the end of his tail was draped over the edge of the bathtub and curled partially back, giving Gabriel an excellent view of the spiny fan of a translucent green and bronze caudal fin. He glanced back up beneath the water line and, sure enough, there were the shapes of somewhat squished pelvic fins and, at the underside of Sam's ribcage, the telltale gaping curves of gills awkwardly trying to breathe in the still, unmoving tub of water that was barely enough to keep him wet.
And he was still unfairly gorgeous.
"I don't even know where to start with this one," Gabriel said at length, thus also announcing his presence to Sam, who startled hard enough to send water splashing out of the tub.
"Gabriel!" he yelped, hands going reflexively but futilely to the area of his body that was usually much more potentially interesting to look at, then jerking his hands away again as his fingers brushed over shining green-and-bronze scales. "A little warning, maybe?"
"Shouldn't that be my line?" Gabriel asked, his eyebrows going up as he leaned his shoulder against the door jamb. "Or did you think this new look you're sporting didn't fall under the Third Commandments Tablet?"
"I'm not dying or even injured and I'm not facing off against a high ranking demon," Sam pointed out with a frown. "Not facing off against anything like this unless we get another ghost ship case."
"Commandment thirteen," Gabriel intoned, beginning to grin as Sam abruptly looked distinctly hunted. "Thou shalt not keep Gabriel out of the loop of big changes. Hate to break it to ya, Samperch, but changing species absolutely counts as a big change."
"It's temporary," Sam insisted, then scowled. "Or at least it was supposed to be, according to Cas. Dean got me this pendant that was labeled as a protective amulet because of the way that vamp nest last week tried to use me as a chew toy, which would have been fine except none of us thought to check up on the exact nature of the spells on the pendant beyond getting Cas to scan it for harmful magics just in case."
"At least you got him to check it at all," Gabriel broke in with a huff. He was starting to get the picture of what might have happened. "Let me guess, the pendant was an engraved cowrie shell strung on leather cording with coral beads?"
"You've heard of it," Sam sighed. "Of course you have. So you can guess what happened when I went to take a shower and Dean's idea of a solution to it."
"He broke the cowrie shell?"
"He broke the cowrie shell," Sam groaned. "And when that didn't work to change me back he salted and burned the whole damn necklace, and only decided to call Cas when that didn't work, at which point Cas informed him that if he had just left the necklace alone I could have dried off and changed back and then remembered to take the thing off to shower from now on, but now..."
"Now you have to find a mermaid enclave with one of their shamans who is willing to make a new pendant for you," Gabriel concluded. "Or rather, Dean does since he's the one who broke it and you're not exactly well versed in swimming with that fintastic new tail of yours to make the trip underwater."
"Not that Dean would be happy about letting me go off alone like this anyway," Sam said with a shake of his head. "He went back to the place that sold him the original pendant to see if they have any more first and Cas went with him to try and be a restraining influence with a promise to fly back if something happens and I need help."
Well, that explained why Sam had been left alone in a motel bathtub, at least. A cursory glance around the tiny bathroom showed a few bottles of water, some protein bars, and a small stack of books on the back of the toilet along with a plastic jar of what looked like salt. "I'm hoping the place isn't far, then?"
"It's in Maine," Sam deadpanned. Gabriel groaned inwardly. They were currently in Kentucky. "Fortunately, Dean was willing to concede that letting Cas fly him there and back once he gets a replacement pendant made logical sense, no matter his usual discomfort with taking Angel Air, so..."
"So they should hopefully be back once Dean learns that it's really rare for the enclaves to let one of their pendants fall into human hands for exactly this reason and the only reliable way to maybe get a new one is to find a mermaid shaman and sweet talk her into letting you at least borrow one for long enough to change back," Gabriel summarized. "And because this is Dean-o, the chances of him managing that are about even with the chances of him sticking his foot in his mouth, and he wouldn't think to call me about it either."
Sam paused and gave Gabriel a shrewd, narrow look that the Archangel tried not to let get to him beyond a pointed raising of his eyebrows. After a moment, Sam snorted softly, the caudal fin twitching where it lay against the water-splashed floor. "If his search back in Maine doesn't turn up anything useful, I was going to suggest calling you. I figured you would at least get a good laugh out of it."
There was a resigned edge to the words, not precisely unhappy so much as displeased. "Already got your fill of the jokes from big bro?"
"I wish," Sam sighed, slumping back into the tiny tub and sloshing the water again, the massive length of his tail arching up out of the water. "He's too busy brooding in guilt because this is technically all his fault, what with giving me the amulet and then breaking and burning it before checking with Cas about the particulars when I ended up half fish. I'm honestly expecting him to have a million jokes to make, most of them about my supposed continued transformations into a Disney princess, but he feels like he can't make any jokes until he's fixed me and it's driving me up the wall!"
"Literally," Gabriel remarked, eyeing the way slick green scales were rubbing up against the wall of the bathroom. One of the scales had detached from Sam's tail and lodged itself in the gap between the edges of the peeling wallpaper, which was going to be interesting for whoever got this room next if the cleaning staff missed it. "Well, I'm here now anyway. You want me to ping Cassie to bring Ahab back?"
"Does that make Cas Ishmael?" Sam snorted. "Sure, might as well, especially if you're right about the rarity of a pendant like that turning up in a coastal antique shop twice, which I can't imagine you wouldn't be."
"Flatterer," Gabriel batted his eyes at Sam even as he reached out to Castiel and sent the Grace equivalent of a polite knock. Come on back, kiddo, Sam's filled me in on the situation and I've got a better solution than old triggerhappy making an ass of himself.
Oh thank Father, Castiel answered in immediate relief. It still took another thirty-seven seconds before the telltale sound of wings rustled in the main part of the motel room, followed by the displacement of air as Castiel and Dean phased back onto the physical plane. "You have a solution, brother?"
"Yup," Gabriel confirmed, popping the 'p' as he twisted around to lean his back against the door jamb so he could see Castiel and Dean while still keeping partial attention on Sam. "Kind of a two-fold solution. First part is I take you all to one of my properties to hang out, untwist, decompress, stretch your legs or leg equivalents--"
"Hey!" Dean protested, getting a very unimpressed look from Gabriel.
"Unclench, buccaneer," he said flatly. "Seriously, we get it, you fucked up, and at least this time it's not actually the end of the world. Besides, I'm pretty sure all three of you would have tried testing me with silver if I wasn't making jokes about it, especially when I can fix it."
"Then why haven't you?" Dean demanded, crossing his arms.
"If you would shut up," Sam piped up from inside the bathroom, "he was about to explain. And I'd like a bit more information on the stretching of leg equivalents, if it's all the same to you!"
"Thank you, Salmon," Gabriel smirked, not even phased when Sam splashed water at him in retaliation. "As I was saying, step one is taking you to one of my properties which, in addition to the usual human-safe entertainments and amenities, also boasts a nice, big salt water infinity pool that will be, heh, infinitely more comfortable for our fine-finned fellow to reside in while I go on a little scavenger hunt of my store rooms to find the ummyndun hafmeyjunnar amulet I picked up about a thousand years ago."
There was a long moment of silence while the Winchesters processed his words and Castiel gave Gabriel a small, relieved smile. And then Dean said in an entirely too calm voice, "Are you seriously telling me that while I've been running around going out of my mind trying to find an impossibly rare piece of jewelry and getting my face slapped by a blonde in a bikini, you've had one of those damn things the whole time?!"
"See what happens when you don't think to call me about something like this right away?" Gabriel couldn't resist snarking cheekily.
"Son of a bitch!"

Let’s try to finish this series of posts about this unnamed AU setting. I said we will TRY, so i can’t promise if this will end right here.
[READ PART ONE FIRST!!]
The rest of the post will be in a “read more” format to prevent one of my friends who didn’t watch Hunters yet to see the spoilers of the actual canon. But keep it in mind this is an AU and nothing else.
PREVIOUSLY...
Quartzmon starts forcing the legends to attack innocent hunters, Daisuke learns the truth behind the hunting and who the mysterious ol’ man is. But also, Tagiru gets attacked by a fake Daisuke and then forces the real one to reveal himself to Taiki in the attempt of forming an alliance with the heroes of that world.
Taiki and the Xros Heart Blue Flare Alliance team up with Daisuke, and then plan a risky move of using Taiki as intel. Things were going kinda fine until the time Daisuke and Tagiru had to face Taichi and Taiki in a battle. But, miraculously Daisuke and V-mon (who evolved into Magnamon via XW’s “Super Evolution” method) manage to bring Taichi and Agumon back into their senses.
Now only Knight, Warrior and Fighter are left to be rescued... Plus unmasking the fake Daisuke as well.
Taiki’s Investigation:
Now that they got Taichi & Agumon on board, Kiriha and co. immediately interrogated him. Daisuke also wanted to know anything Taichi could report them, despite being ultra irritated by that attitude of that world’s children.
Taichi’s memories were foggy and it wasn’t like he could remember hurting people before. But one thing or two were clear in his mind: Someone pretended to be Hikari calling for help and he went to save her. But no Tailmon around and Hikari had... Red eyes. Tagiru then says the fake Daisuke had red eyes too, so this led Yuu to believe this was an important detail of the shapeshifter enemy.
The other thing was... Someone had a weird alien-like robot digimon using some brainwash technique on him and Agumon. This led Akari and Zenjirou recognize said described digimon as EBEmon. Taking this info in consideration, the group realized maybe the rest of the kidnapped heroes are under EBEmon’s control as well. But... who are those other three?
This is when the ol’ man (Bagramon) appears in front of them, revealing who else they had to rescue from the hands of Quartzmon. But none of them knew those people so how could they find a way to make them stop and talk instead?
Taichi calls their attention and then tells the group he got a plan.
Meanwhile Taiki kept working inside the enemy’s territory, learning about more and more about Quartzmon’s plans. That this digi-villain copies data from its victims and takes its body later, and some of those victims were... a group of EBEmon. Also a few children he and the others had met before too. But the legends were kept somewhere in this abandoned mansion in the depths of the DigiQuartz. He watches one of the legends go outside, one with yellow goggles and a red dragon-like digimon after hearing to go after “Sun” (who’s Taichi, btw)
Taiki immediately retreats and contacts Kiriha, giving him more details and being informed about things told by that weird ol’ man. Also feeding them with updated regarding Quartzmon’s identity (sadly, he still did not know much...)
The Dreaming Knight:
According to the ol’ man, the Legendary with a red dragon digimon is Matsuda Takato, a 20-21 year old from another world. He’s called by “Knight” because of his partner evolving into Dukemon, and his title being “The Gallant Dreamer” -- those info were totally useless right now, as Daisuke put, but they had no other choice rather than try to rescue this kid first. But how?
So now that they learned Quartzmon ordered to get Taichi back, they had the idea of using Taichi as bait. He didn’t mind either, and it could be handy.
Taichi and Agumon were left on the loose, while Tagiru, Yuu and Daisuke waited in silence in a corner. Kiriha and the others were also around but pretty well hidden. The moment they saw Takato approach... Tagi-Yuu-Dai leave they spot and face him. Taichi tries to prevent a battle but Takato still under the control of an EBEmon evolves into Dukemon with Guilmon. That wasn’t totally expected for anyone, because if the kid and digimon can fuse... How can you talk without battling them? And Daisuke was so much confused about how can this kid do this and he’s stuck with that world’s rules. Other than that, Taichi is able to warp evolve Agumon into WarGreymon as well.
They try to separate the kid and the digimon first. Nice, good plan. But how. Is this like a toku where if you knock the transformed hero out their transformation is undone?? Who knows! Well, let’s try it huh?
After a good amount of time wasted in a battle... Taichi, Daisuke and the young kids from that universe knock Dukemon down and this makes Takato and Guilmon split. More than that, seems like just knocking them down was able to undo the brainwash. When an EBEmon -- which was hidden somewhere -- was aiming at the small group to hit them with another dose of brainwash... Kiriha’s MetalGreymon destroys it. Right in time.
The Knight hero was rescued.
The Hot-Blooded Warrior:
With Takato on their side now, they learned another similar case happened -- A friend’s of Takato named Juri was asking for his help and when he finally found her... Her eyes were red and glowing in the dark. Later he remembered seeing the same digimon who brainwashed Taichi & Agumon. Guilmon added he sensed some human nearby... Everyone looked at Taichi, who definitely growled “I didn’t do anything, I was captured as well!”
Suddenly, Kiriha received another message from Taiki. Saying another hero went somewhere to the east area, and the group thought it could be a good opportunity to bring whoever was back to their senses. Taiki then sent another message meaning this legend hero had no digimon with him, unlike the other one. With this, Ol’ man was asked about this particular person:
The only Legendary Hero to not have a physical digimon was Kanbara Takuya (19-20yo), also known by the tales and myths as the “Warrior” and has the title of the “Fiery Warrior”. The reason Takuya’s partner wasn’t “visible” is mostly because he’s from a world where he became the new Warriors of Flame, Agnimon and Vritramon. To sum up this story: Takuya and his other five friends had been selected to evolve into ancient warriors in his world.
Taichi, Daisuke, Zenjirou and Tagiru were too impressed by this and imagined themselves evolving into a digimon... But their conclusion is it would be too strange since they have digimon partners after all. Takato, however, thinks it’s interesting. Kiriha then just goes straight to the point: They need to knock down Takuya in order to talk to him.
Slide Evolution is annoying, it was Tagiru’s complaints. Arresterdramon is quick (so do Tsuwamon and Magnamon) but not powerful enough to deal with Vritramon. Tagiru then decided to use one of his digimon from a previous hunt and... Summons Sephirotmon by thinking it was strong enough for that and without the consequences it could bring. Daisuke and Yuu just go “Are you SURE about this!?” and he nods. Sephirotmon counterattacks with Vritramon’s own power, making him weak. Then the trio -- Arresterdramon + Tsuwamon + Magnamon -- finish the battle knocking Vritramon out, who reverts back to Takuya and is caught by Daisuke’s arms quickly to not hit the ground.
Once again, the opponent is free from the brainwash thanks to the battle. Nene (who was around and hidden, in case something going bad) spots an EBEmon and Mervamon destroys it before it could do any harm.
The Strongest Fighter In Town:
After the shock caused by Tagiru pulling a digimon species who had caused a ton of trauma and bad memories, Takuya was able to talk with the group and the other rescued legends. His story was also similar to them. Takuya says he saw his little brother running into a corner and asking to follow him. He had no idea what was going on but found odd the way Shinya’s eyes were red and glowing. Then he got knocked out and the last thing he saw was Agnimon and Vritramon in front of him trying to help, but being... Beaten!? By some creepy digimon. They returned to spirit-like stage and Takuya’s phone turned into a D-Scanner all again. But after that? He had no clue.
Takuya has some beef with Tagiru because of that trick for a moment. Oddly, he was kinda sentiment, and this made Yuu wonder if EBEmon’s power has a limit by time or range. Kiriha and Nene then talk about spotting EBEmon in the previous fights with Takato and Takuya, so clearly they were there to give them another shot of their power to keep them under control.
They were interrupted by Taiki’s new report: Quartzmon had gone mad and ordered him and the Fighter to track down them all and take them back. By “Fighter” he meant Daimon Masaru (18-19yo), the “Banchou Savior” -- according to the watchmaker man (aka “ol’ man”, nicknamed by both Daisuke and Tagiru)
Masaru is a fighter who even challenged a deity before and unmasked its farce in his world, so they don’t think this one would listen to them easily if he’s under Quartzmon’s control. Kiriha decides to take part this time, and let Nene care about securing the area. Akari and Zenjirou, who were busy searching for the fake Daisuke guy, are concerned about Taiki right now due to a strange feeling Akari felt.
Masaru, brainwashed as any other legend they fought was, wasn’t fighting at full power. Instead of ShineGreymon, he was just using GeoGreymon for this. Kiriha also wasn’t using all of his strength, but just a single MetalGreymon Xros Up. The rest were confused a lot, but it could mean Masaru and his digimon wanted Kiriha to beat them quickly. Tagiru didn’t get it, but then Daisuke commented of being able to understand it, and Yuu reminds them about EBEmon’s power having some limit at this point.
Kiriha realized that already, hence why he asked to personally handle this. And then MetalGreymon beats GeoGreymon as Kiriha throws a punch on Masaru’s face. They did not get knocked out, but just doing this seems to break EBEmon’s control over them.
With all of the kidnapped legends rescued they... OH NO.
Taiki’s... Betrayal?!
Somehow Akari & Zenjirou’s concerns were right. Soon or later Taiki would be caught, or rather, be discovered. Even if Taiki were an excellent spy, he’s still human and could mess something up by accident. Turns out the rescue of the heroes was also a plan to gather them all in one place. But Quartzmon did not expect for one thing: Aonuma Kiriha.
While Taiki was ordered to keep feed them with info and reports after he got discovered after they rescued Takato, Kiriha could spot the difference between a normal Kudou Taiki and one under mind control. Because... Taiki stopped reporting details about the investigation on Quartzmon’s identity after all.
This means they had to fight Taiki in order to bring him back to his senses, and Tagiru couldn’t get to do it. Suddenly, he spots some younger version of Daisuke and alerts the real one. Daisuke does not think twice and runs after it, with Tagiru coming after. Taichi shouts to them stop but it was too late. Yuu informs that he’s receiving a good number of EBEmon around the area. Kiriha then orders the rest to destroy the EBE-mon before they could catch them all while he would handle Taiki all by himself.
In the meantime, the fake Daisuke leads Daisuke and Tagiru to another area.
The Bagra Empire’s Ex-Soldier:
The kouhai duo stopped in front of of the fake Daisuke, who was smilling and his red eyes glowing. It was indeed a terrible scene, and V-mon & Gumdramon jumped from the Xros Loaders and stood in front of their human partners. Now Daisuke starts yelling at the faker, who kept playing with them, changing its form into other people they knew: Daisuke’s sister Jun and Tagiru’s classmate Takahashi Mami, respectively. This enerves them. V-mon and Gumdramon then realize the shapeshifter is a digimon, but not much stronger. They and the mysterious digi start a fight. The faker reveals his original form -- Lightnimon -- and uses a Darkness Loader to summon Black Imperialdramon.
Daisuke knows how bad this fight got right now, and tells Tagiru to call for help. Tagiru tries, but Yuu says they’re too busy with the EBE-mon ambush and Taiki is still under their control. The duo look at each other and feel there’s no way they could solve this by themselves... Only to meet the watchmaker again and him use Clockmon to stop the time. Tagiru and Daisuke realizes that man morphed into a big buff guy with a skeleton heand, and punched the foe Imperialdramon into a gate opened by Clockmon. The time is running again and the ol’ man was in front of them. Lightnimon recognizes his previous master and immediately begs for forgiveness. Bagramon sighs and then tells Tagiru and Daisuke to go help the others. They go, while Bagramon just... reverts Lightnimon into a Digiegg form, hunting it with his own Xros Loader.
Quartzmon’s Final Step:
Kiriha was the only one able to brawl Taiki, meanwhile all legends and the Xros Heart Blue Flare Alliance were destroying the good amount of EBE-mon they could. Once ZekeGreymon managed to take OmegaShoutmon down, Kiriha grabbed Taiki by his shoulder and punched him. Taiki and a devolved Shoutmon get back to normal and he immediately warns Kiriha about the plan of using the Legend Heroes’ powers when they’re all together.
Only to.. Daisuke and Tagiru come back and hear that part. Oops, so...? Better they get back to their worlds now? They all agreed with this, and the old man comes to tell them one more mission: beat Quartzmon. But how!? they don’t know who he is, and the memories of the kidnapped legendary heroes were foggy about anything during the strong effect of the brainwash ray. But Taiki... He knew.
When he was still working as the Alliance’s intel, Taiki was surprised by some other children referred to a masked kid by ‘master’... And Said kid had a Psychemon on their side, plus a green Xros Loader. Tagiru immediately remembered someone with a green device before. He never completely met them personally, but it was the first time he met Gumdramon.
But the ol’ man knew who was now. And quickly tried to send the legends back... Only to have the DigiQuartz start to consume the human world. Takuya exclaims “WHAT’S GOING ON HERE!?” just like the others. Suddenly Taichi, Takato, Takuya, Masaru and Taiki end up reverting to the age they saved the world for the first time... Except Daisuke.
Daisuke asks why the heckie this is not happening to him, and then the old man reveals it’s because of him having his D-3 transformed into a Xros Loader temporarily. Taichi then asks if this means everyone’s safe but Quartz-Kid (as in, the kid who’s the vessel for Quartzmon) just appears in person with Miho in his hands, ordering Bagramon to free Heart’s power or else... Daisuke clenches his fists, how did he know...!?
Taiki and the Alliance exclaims about the watchmaker’s identity. Only to have Hideaki touching the Twin Spear on the masked Quartz-Kid’s back. He calmly says to the kid leave the girl alone. With that order, Quartz-Kid throws Miho from that high height and Daisuke quickly orders Magnamon to save her. With the girl on Magnamon’s hands, the golden armored digimon leaves her in Akari’s arms, following’s Daisuke’s rage and going after the kid. Bagramon immediately attacks Magnamon, saying this reckless attitude could put the innocent Mogami Ryouma’s life in danger.
Ryouma, yes. The first kid he recruited after realizing the kid had a pure heart and had admired Taiki since he faced Shoutmon X7 SM at Tokyo Bay. But seems like Quartzmon had obtained the kid’s body as vessel. Yuu then asks how can they separate Quartzmon from the kid, and then Bagramon looks at the Legend Heroes. Quartz-Kid realizes what they were planning to do and manipulates the DigiQuartz to change its form, and then kicks Hideaki out of his way, making him morph into DarkKnightmon and land on the floor in front of everyone. At this point the XW universe’s kids are completely confused but they got no time for this.
The Spiral World:
Somehow, the power of the Legends being partially activated made parts of their worlds blend into the DigiQuartz. And with this, some old faces had appeared in it -- data of the enemies the Legends had faced before. Except, of course, for Bagramon and DarkKnightmon -- because their data weren’t stolen. The enemies were: Diablomon, Gulfmon, Ornismon and Algomon (Ultimate) -- no one knew how this could be possible, but it was probably some data stolen from the kids’ memories. As to why Daisuke’s memories hadn’t been scanned (because he also asks WHY), Bagramon repeats about him having a Xros Loader at the moment. It was the only way to “seal” his power.
In order to reach Quartzmon and free Ryouma from him, they all needed to pass all those enemies... But more villains from those scanned memories began to appear. Kiriha then tells Taiki to go, and let Nene, Akari, Zenjirou and Yuu handle this. DarkKnightmon also offers to help, despite everyone being wary of him. Tagiru asks if they’re forgetting him, but Bagramon goes back to the ol’ man form and tells he has not been forgotten and he should go with the Legends too. Tagiru then asks why, and Bagramon says because he is the key.
With no idea what that meant, the Legendary Heroes and Tagiru move to the first area: Diablomon’s nest. There he just teamed up with Taichi and Daisuke, using WarGreymon and Magnamon as support. Once they beat Diablomon, they reached the next area -- Gulfmon’s nest. There, Tagiru teamed up with Takato, who matrix evolved into Dukemon. After beating Gulfmon, they were sent to another area. On Ornismon’s nest, Tagiru was teaming up with Takuya (Aldamon) and Taiki. Since Aldamon is not strong, Taiki offered some support. Once they finished that battle, they went to the next area. They reached the Algomon’s nest. Where Masaru was the support for this battle. Once they beat Algomon... Each nest’s battle resulted in a particular new power for Tagiru: the Superior Mode for Arresterdramon... And a weird Skeleton Arm which Tagiru heard in his mind to be called “The Brave Snatcher”
Now all the six legends and him were in front the final area -- Quartzmon’s nest. It was indeed the final battle. They had to save Ryouma and beat Quartzmon as soon as possible.
The Last Legendary Power:
Somehow, Quartzmon had obtained enough power to become a tough enemy. Arresterdramon SM was powerful but not enough. Tagiru looked at the weird Brave Snatcher and there’s some symbols on it: Six types of digivices -- the OG Digivice, the D-3, the D-Ark, the D-Scanner, the Digivice Burst and the Xros Loader. Despite he not knowing anything about those sans the Xros Loader, all those lights where shining except for the blue one which he quickly notices it represented Daisuke.
He realizes the only way to beat Quartzmon’s using that thing. Or else why would need it? To scratch your back? Tagiru looks at Daisuke, and says him to unleash his power. Daisuke is confused about how and also thinks it’s a bad idea because it would make Quartzmon more powerful. Taiki then comments Tagiru might have a plan, and the others now notice the flashing lights from the Brave Snatcher. Daisuke sighs, and then grabbed his Xros Loader and closes his eyes. Some light come from the device and it returns to its original form -- the Blue D-3. Daisuke also notices he’s shorter than Tagiru now, so basically he reverted to the age he fought BelialVamdemon and saved the world.
The Brave Snatcher is now complete, however it also gave Quartzmon’s the ability to finally scan Daisuke’s power and memories... BUT!
Tagiru then hears something saying him to Xros Up the Brave Snatcher with Arresterdramon SM and use it in the fight. Then he raises the crimson Xros Loader, making all legends powers drive into the Brave Snatcher and DigiXros Up it with Arresterdramon, as the voice told him.
Now he got more power and enough to beat Quartzmon. But, to beat it he had to separate him from Ryouma. And then two kids stood in front of him: Airu and Ren. Tagiru tells them to get out, but they decide to battle them with their partners, Cho-Hakkaimon and Yaksamon. This is where Yuu and Miho appear, with Tsuwamon and BloomLordmon. Apparently, Miho got a Magenta Xros Loader and partnered with one of the digimon from Bagramon’s backup arsenal. They keep Airu and Ren occupied while Tagiru just goes after Quartz-Ryouma.
Once Tagiru uses the Brave Snatcher to separate Ryouma and Quartzmon, the battle is over. Airu,Ren and their digimon also stop fighting, like if some mental control had been stopped. Ryouma’s partner, Astamon is set free from Quartzmon’s body as well and he grabs Ryouma before the boy collapses on the floor.
The world is saved.
The Birth Of A New Legend:
After the battle, everything started to go back to normal, the Legends are sent back to their worlds, the DigiQuartz is finally extinguished and Quartzmon’s data is sealed in a Digiegg. Shoutmon takes the Digiegg and brings it back to the DW.
Before everyone returns to their respective worlds, Daisuke just puts a hand on Tagiru’s shoulder and says he’s a strong kid. Tagiru smiles, but notices Daisuke is actually on his toes to do that. He starts laughing because really? Daisuke is THAT short!? Daisuke growls, and then points out Taichi’s even more shorter, only to have Taichi roll his eyes and say he’s still older than him. Daisuke panickly apologizes to Taichi, while Masaru declares Tagiru is a strong man. Takuya and Takato agrees about it, and kinda apologize for the chaos they all caused. But Takuya is still salty about Tagiru using Sephirotmon against him, and they all laugh. Bagramon appears and says it’s time for them to return to their worlds.
A few months after this whole adventure, Tagiru is so bored he misses so much the digimon and such. Then, Bagramon (in his human form) just pops from nowhere and he says the Crimson Hunter is needed again. Tagiru frowns, “Crimson Hunter?” and then he learns he was called by that in the newest version of the Legends’ mural and tales had been running through the Digital World. But why is he needed again?
Taiki and Yuu comes in, and they see Bagramon. The ol’ man says he called them for a special mission: There’s still digimon lost around the world, some how actually escaped from the DigiQuartz before and couldn’t be sent back to the Digital World normally. He wanted them to hunt those digimon and bring them to him, so he could open a gate to the Digital World and sent them home.
Tagiru grins and says they accept the job. So now, once again, Tagiru, Gumdramon, Taiki, Shoutmon, Yuu and Damemon join to protect the digimon and people.
Tagiru’s had been recognized as the “Crimson Hunter” and codenamed the “Superstar” by the new legends of the Digital Worlds.

Greetings fellas, I have you some gay au deff crack idea.
✨Dungeons and Dragons/Willow AU✨
Kit: Rogue/Fighter
-We know she's pretty sneaky and all that stuff bc she escaped from her manners lessons all the time
-Good with swords AND bows (daggers seem to fit her naturally)
-Artefacts, strength and abilities
-A champion, shield, sword. Willow said that himself
-Chaotic neutral.
-The party member who is the 40% of the time causing troubles, 40% solving those troubles and 20% getting on the others memebers´ nerves
Jade: Ranger/Blood hunter
(IK how sounds but)
-Rangers "warrior who combats threats on the edge of the civilization" AKA Bone Rivers
-Blood hunters "adept warriors have forged themselves into a potent force dedicated to protecting the innocent" AKA Shining Legion
-”Blood hunters are clever warriors driven by an unending determination to destroy evils old and new. Armed with rites of secretive blood magic and a willingness to sacrifice their own vitality and humanity for their cause, they protect the realms from the shadows—even as they remain ever vigilant against being drawn to the darkness that consumes the monsters they hunt.” hear. me. out.
Graydon: Bard/Druid
-don't tell me that you can't see him taking animal form and using nature force as his main force
-HIS FLUTE
-He would know how to make these two classes work, as multiclasses or individually would adapt at him perfectly
-Neutral good.
-Smart but so insecure that he goes unnoticed
-But in really, really for real, important moments he contributes with his half braincell.
Boorman: Rogue/Barbarian/Monk
-He was prisoner for a very long time, he definitely trained his body way more deeply, reaching for new techniques and forms
-The Bone Rivers in some point teaching him sum that got him EVEN deeper in physical-mental-spiritual strength
-He's canonically sneaky (but still will enter a room by kicking the door) trickster, and very good at detecting traps.
-He have been in so many places and he definitely learned a little about a lot of things in every place he went
-The barbarian part is even needed to explain??
-If there is a crash, is a Boorman near
-Chaotic neutral, depends where are Scorpia and his kids
Elora: Sorcerer (maybe artificer multiclass)
-Was BORN with the magic, as a gift or bloodline, she would be a sorcerer canonically.
-The only time she readed a magic book was when Graydon was dying
-Then not ever once again Elora was sighted less than two foots away from a study book
-Spelcaster, uses an artifact (wand) to conduct her magic, BUT also manipulates it directly with her bare hands.
-Chaotic good
-The chiller, reckless and not so bookworm version of the common wizards.
-Like, imagine a shortgun that works with recolcted magic from another moment, so when she´s running out of energy she could just boom boom her enemies
Willow: Sorcerer
-He did born with magic in him but was limitated until tha things happened and he became the great sorcerer.
-Even tho he reads about magical stuff and all the ways to i, he didnt learned magic, he was born with it.
-This isnt even an option actually, lfmao.
-Lawful good
-Permanetly at least one and half braincell of the party.
Airk: Bard secondly fighter. Not virseversa.
-He isint the most calm person but he is way chiller than Kit when it comes to opposing their mother´s choices.
-True neutral
-He havent tried too hard to please the expectations, then he was free most of the time.
-Yes he is a very good swordsman but he cannonly prefers to roll up in the grass with flowers and eating muffins.
-Still enjoying the spars and all that, tho.
-That party member that wont shut up and will mansplain the way out of the troubles
-He and Kit caused the trouble, if not, it was them with stupidity extensions
-If words don't work he will hit yall with his freaking massive ukulele. Or ch0ke them with a necklace.

Can you sum up Killua? I watched the show (the old one) but im just wondering if you can sum him up?
It doesn’t even have to be right! If you told me he was from Ohio, well he does have that energy to him
KILLUA... KILLUA IS MY BELOVED
so hes this kid who was raised by a family of assassins and as a result has been trained to kill since birth. this has involved a great deal of torture for him. when we first meet him in the story he's like. twelve years old and is taking the hunter exam because he thinks it will be fun. unfortunately he fails because right at the end of it his shitty abusive big brother reveals himself and fucks everything up for him along with a deeply horrifyingly relatable display of ptsd on killua's part. (he also gets his ass promptly kicked by gon for his actions. yay, gon!)
anyway we find out he's really different from most of his family because despite everything he's still a pretty sweet kid. Lil murdery but it's okay. he's working on it.
Tumblr media
"Clean living is tough."
over the course of the series we get to see some really wonderful character growth from him as well as more of his childish side (he LOVES chocolate robots and uses yo-yos as weapons). we also find out that he is completely gay.
Tumblr media
he's a good kid.
he also gets lightning powers during the greed island arc. it's pretty cool. i'm a fan. he can use 'em for all sorts of things too.
but none of this is my very favorite part. my very favorite part comes in during the election arc. because it's at that point that we find out about alluka.
Tumblr media
alluka is killua's little sister. there's a lot to say about these two. for one thing, alluka is canonically transgender, of which killua is very supportive.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
for another thing, alluka has a very powerful entity from the dark continent (a landmass outside of the known world) living inside her. this entity is known as nanika.
Tumblr media
as i said, nanika is extremely powerful. see, she can grant wishes. any wishes. however, there are a lot of rules. for one thing, in order to gain a wish, the person in question would have to fulfill three requests first. if her requests are declined four times in a row, that person along with those closest to them will instantly die. quite messily. on top of that, the bigger the wishes are, the bigger her requests will be, and the bigger the consequences if refused. for example, someone once wished for a billion dollars, after which the next person was asked for organs. since that person obviously couldn't just give her their organs, they died, along with a great deal of other people.
as you can see, alluka and nanika are powerful to a degree that can be extremely dangerous if people aren't careful. this isn't something they intend to do--alluka looks very confused the first time someone dies after refusing her requests. however, it will still happen. due to her powers, the zoldyck family locked alluka up. she's left all alone with nobody to talk to her or play with her--and she's only eleven years old.
Tumblr media
but during the election arc, killua goes to save her. (i theorize that the reason he didn't before was related to some of the brainwashing techniques illumi (the oldest of the zoldyck children) canonically used on him. he breaks out of them in the previous arc.) he is able to rescue her and take her out of the zoldyck estate, though not without illumi chasing after them.
Tumblr media
alluka and nanika both love killua very, very much. ('if i was the only person in the world who loved you, would you be sad?' 'i'd be so happy!') nanika even asks killua to pat her head when she does a good job. because of this, killua even gets to know special rules about nanika's wish-granting powers:
If a wish is made for healing, she must make physical contact with the target. Also, there will be no repercussions. It is also shown that healing is very taxing to her, causing her to fall asleep from exhaustion.
Killua has the special privilege of issuing a "command". When he does, his request will bypass any existing backlash and will be granted without any repercussions. If somebody else wishes other than Killua, they will suffer the same repercussions of the previous wish that was supposed to be given, with the command itself not affecting the requests.
Issuing a "command" allows Killua to have his wish granted even if she is in the middle of making requests of someone else, as well as if it is his second consecutive wish.
unfortunately, killua sees nanika as a threat to alluka's safety at first, fear of illumi hurting his little sister causing him to order nanika to never come out again. alluka, however, is furious with him, causing him to realize his wrongdoings and apologize to nanika, recanting his order and asking instead that she never use her powers again, because he'll pat her head whenever she wants.
Tumblr media
he loves them both so much. she'll scold him and he'll say 'isn't she the greatest?' gon? who's gon? gay rights are real but sibling rights are more real.
Tumblr media
after this they travel the world together. that's where we leave off. just killua and alluka and nanika traveling the world. in case you somehow couldn't tell, their relationship is unbelievably important to me. like... it doesn't get any better than this, okay? it just doesn't.

Roleplay/Writing Partner wanted
Hello, I'm currently on here looking for someone to roleplay/write with casually. Before I carry on for to long let's get a firm boundary addressed, I only wish to write with people 21+ years old. If you are not 21 years old or older please do not message me. Thank you.
When it comes to genre and plot I tend to lean towards slow burn romances, and I do prefer working in past settings or magical modern settings. I also have a few fandoms I am craving, but if I'm being honest I know their not everyone's cup of tea and will not take offense if you are not interested in them. I also enjoy original content hashed out between me and my partner. I also adore OOC conversation, so many friendships have come from roleplaying. I adore this. Another point is I am on eastern time and work morning shifts.
What sort of characters do I play? I prefer one of my mains to be a female role. But I'm completely fine also playing a two mains at once and the second can be my partner's preference. I am looking for someone who is open enough to write as both male and female characters, trans characters are also welcome. OCs are welcome and I'm willing to play canons for you to ship them with, I do ask the same in return.
Here is a list of my fandoms and the OCs I have for them.
🧡Game of Thrones: I have a OC I ship with Sandor Clegane (The Hound), her name is Dawn Baratheon, she is the sister to Robert Baratheon. She unfortunately has issues with her arranged husbands passing away in odd ways and ends up in the Red Keep more often than not.
🖤Naruto: Music Hatake (Muse), I ship her with Master Jiraiya. She is the cousin of Kakashi Hatake. Her ninjutsu is a plant based, she controls chakra through her feet and can use this technique to make seeds grow and use the plants during battle.
🧡Supernatural: Clementine Jones, I would ship her with John Winchester or Castiel. She is a young woman who has become a solo hunter. Using a cross road demon to make a deal to get knowledge from. Fortunately for her she made a solid deal that has yet been cashed in. This naturally makes the demon she made the deal with angry.
🖤 Hellboy: Abyzou, I ship her with Hellboy, she is a lava demon with the same lore of the actual demon I named her after. Her curse involves infertility and child mortality.
🧡X-Men/Deadpool: My OCs for this fandom are not finished because I've never wrote with them. I would be open to shipping with Hank McCoy (Beast), Cable, or Logan (Wolverine)
🖤Star Wars: Rey x Kylo Ren (Ben Solo), I love writing as Rey for this. I'm also open to making a OC for this fandom too.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Kay Shultz, a once slayer turned into a vampire who was given a soul by her watcher. I ship her with Spike (William)

Chapter 6: A life's commitment
Tumblr media
Kanoko becomes a skilled demon hunter, and Kyojuro achieves the remarkable feat of slaying a Lower Moon, earning him the esteemed Hashira rank. But what about their relationship?
Author Note: Last chapter of the Flashback Arc! After this one, we will return to the original timeline.
Tumblr media
Due to the demands of demon hunting, you found yourself rarely returning to Ebara-gun in the following year after the funerals. Since living with the Rengokus was no longer an option, you utilized the funds from selling your old house, officially transferred to a non-existent distant relative, to purchase a small secluded house in Komazawa under a false name. Senjuro kindly offered to keep an eye on your place while you were away and assisted you in storing your precious family heirlooms within their vast estate. Throughout the year, you only crossed paths with Kyojuro on two occasions when he happened to be visiting his family home at the same time as you. With his promotion to the rank of Kinoe, he seemed even busier than before. Admired and loved by everyone, he was constantly surrounded by junior members seeking his advice and praise. He attempted to train some tsugukos, but none of them could keep up with his intense training regimen.
On your part, you gradually honed your skills at operating independently. The absence of a uniform allowed you to blend in unnoticed, and you put into practice the tracking and infiltration lessons you had learned in your youth. You generally avoided areas already patrolled by the Demon Slayers to maximize protection for as many people as possible. However, you still regularly encountered them. They were easily identifiable by their black gakuran adorned with their motto "Extermination." Sometimes, you offered assistance or collaborated with them, but you always concealed your identity, hiding your sword and assuming a civilian facade. Only in exceptional circumstances would you reveal yourself as a demon hunter or disclose your true identity, but you sought to minimize such situations. A significant part of your effectiveness relied on remaining anonymous.
Among the Slayers, the one you frequently spotted was the Water Pillar, Tomioka Giyuu, recognizable from a distance by his mismatched haori. He appeared to patrol a sizable area, not far from one of your informants. You had the opportunity to witness his captivating battles from afar, mesmerised by his graceful yet deadly Breathing technique. Occasionally, you would send anonymous notes to provide him with information about powerful demons that surpassed your abilities. He never made any attempt to respond, but the demons would vanish shortly thereafter.
During your second year as a demon hunter, you found yourself encountering Kyojuro more frequently, even oustide of Komazawa, despite the fact that you avoided the areas where he operated. While you were able to interact with him normally, there were still nights when you woke up sweating, haunted by the memory of him beheading your grandmother. Witnessing him in action again was the last thing you desired. When you came across information that might be of interest to him, you sent him a message through letter or Kaname. But once, you ended up chasing the same demon as him. Fortunately, it was you who ultimately vanquished the demon he had cornered in the area where you were hidding.
During your occasional friendly duels, you were delighted to discover that the gap between Kyojuro and yourself was narrowing. There was even a time when you utilized a new technique and successfully landed a hit on him for the first time in years. On that day, he showered you with so much praise, his hands on your shoulders, that you felt your cheeks flush with warmth.
There were moments when you pondered whether Kyojuro and you would have had a different relationship if you were ordinary young individuals instead of warriors consumed by the pursuit of demons. However, such thoughts were fleeting, as there was an abundance of work to be done, countless enemies to defeat, and numerous lives to save. As for Kyojuro, he treated everyone with the same kindness and fervor, leading you to believe that he did not view you through a romantic lens. Gradually, you relinquished your youthful dreams and devoted yourself entirely to your duties as a demon hunter.
At the age of eighteen, Kyojuro took a young aspiring Demon Slayer named Kanroji Mitsuri under his wing, with the intention of making her his successor. Though your paths only briefly crossed, the sight of Mitsuri's charming and affectionate personality, coupled with her feminine allure despite her extraordinary strength, crushed your confidence. Adding to your heartache, Mitsuri seemed to be ever-present whenever you visited the Rengokus. From a distance, you occasionally observed their interactions, perhaps a distortion of your professional habits. The three of them appeared to have a great time together, fostering an almost domestic atmosphere. The irrational fear of being replaced overwhelmed you, even though you recognized it as a twisted way of thinking. Working alone in different regions and under a false identity made it challenging for you to forge deep connections with others. The only constants in your life were Kyojuro and Senjuro, and the fear of losing their love paralyzed you.
Consequently, you ceased your visits to the Rengokus. Concerned, they reached out to you through letters, seeking reassurance. Six months later, Senjuro informed you that Mitsuri had successfully passed the Final Selection. It was an impressive accomplishment in such a short time. Quickly after, Kyojuro informed you that he, along with his tsuguko and other Demon Slayers, would be embarking on a mission to track down one of the Twelve Kizuki. Upon learning this, you swiftly dispatched the demon you were pursuing before hastening back to Komazawa village.
As you arrived at the Rengokus, you were unexpectedly met with the retired Flame Pillar at the entrance, who appeared to be in a foul mood.
"Well, if it isn't the last Time Breathing user again," he sneered venomously, glaring the sword at your belt. "I see you haven't listened to a word I said and you persist in this foolish demon hunting. It's not a suitable pursuit for a woman. Find yourself a husband and settle down."
It was clear he was trying a new angle to provoke and discourage you. Collecting yourself, you chose to ignore his remarks and inquired, "I heard that Kyojuro went to confront a Kizuki. Has he returned? Have you received any updates?"
"No, and I couldn't care less. Don't be surprised if he doesn't come back," he retorted.
A mixture of disdain and disgust flashed across your face towards this father who wagered on his son's demise instead of praying for his safe return. However, you promptly composed yourself, returning to a neutral expression.
"With your permission, Rengoku-san, I would like to wait for his return in your home with Senjuro," you respectfully requested, bowing deeply. He did not deserve such reverence, but you knew how his sons treated him with respect and love despite his verbal and physical abuse. For their sake, you were willing to swallow your indignation.
The former Hashira clicked his tongue. "Tch. Do as you please. I'm going to buy some sake."
He departed, and you slowly straightened up, turning towards the estate. Senjuro was busy in the kitchen, his expression tinged with sadness, but it brightened as he caught sight of you. You embraced each other tightly.
"Aneue! It's been so long! We missed you greatly! Aniue was incredibly worried about you."
"I missed both of you as well. Do you have any idea when he's expected to return?" you inquired.
"If all goes well, he should be back in a few days at most..."
"I see... What are you cooking? I'll help you."
"Ah! These are sweet potatoes. Kanroji-san taught me how to prepare them. It has become my brother's favorite dish, along with salt grilled bream!"
You felt a pang of pain in your chest, but you managed to maintain an unchanged smile. You were getting good at pretending.
"I see. Let's hope he returns soon so we can enjoy it together!"
You assisted him with the preparations. Sweet potatoes were delicious, and you understood why Kyojuro loved them. You were trying to think of different ways to cook them, when Senjuro asked: "Are you going to stay here until my big brother returns?" He sounded hopeful.
"Probably. Your father permitted me to stay here, I think," you replied.
"Really? Father did that?" he asked, his smile radiant.
The aforementioned patriarch returned from his errand and silently took a seat at the table with you, wearing his customary sullen and ill-tempered expression. He drank sake while eating, eventually pouring you a glass. Senjuro protested.
"Silence. Drink, Nagase. Unless you're incapable of holding your liquor?" he challenged.
You held his gaze, then set down your chopsticks and downed the cup of sake in one gulp. A pleasant warmth enveloped you. Unlike many inebriated individuals, Shinjuro didn't settle for cheap sake; he indulged in the finest spirits. With a predatory smile, the former Flame Pillar promptly refilled your cup. Without flinching, you brought the glass to your lips again.
"I prefer that. If there's going to be a guest in this house, it might as well be someone who can drink with me. My sons don't touch alcohol."
Not surprising. Senjuro was only ten years old, and Kyojuro never drank, even out of duty, likely because he feared becoming like his father if he were to try.
"Don't worry about that; I can handle alcohol quite well," you assured him coldly. "Drinking is one of the best ways to forge connections and gather information when I track demons."
"Don't speak to me about that accursed demon hunting," Rengoku-san snapped, slamming his cup on the table. "You're spoiling the sake."
"Unfortunately, that is all I have in my life, so it will be difficult for me to discuss anything else. Furthermore, I hope you haven't forgotten my oath, Rengoku-san. I will make you regret what you said about my family. Even if it may not be tonight, remember that idea firmly every time you see me."
Despite the weight of your words, your voice remained composed. Shinjuro stared at you strangely, like if he was seeing a ghost. Ignoring his gaze, you refilled both your cups and continued eating in silence.
"You have a resemblance to her in terms of personality," he muttered, bringing the cup to his lips. Uncertain of whom he was referring to, you didn't inquire, instead stoically chewing your meal. "I understand my son a little better now. That idiot. Fools like you two only end up dying prematurely in this wretched world, without changing a thing. Your sense of heroism is nothing but an illusion."
You pondered whether Shinjuro's twisted and toxic remarks were his way of discouraging his children from demon hunting, stemming from the fear of losing them, just as he had lost his wife and his youthful aspirations. Regardless, his words were cruel and inappropriate.
"I care not for what you say about me, Rengoku-san, but please refrain from insulting your sons in my presence. They are exceptional young men, and I am grateful to have them in my life."
"You have poor taste. And so do they. But at least you can hold your liquor."
Tumblr media
The following day, the sound of enthusiastic voices reached your ears, rousing you from your slumber. Reluctantly, you opened your eyes, greeted by the harsh daylight and a pounding headache. It took a moment for you to recall your whereabouts and how you ended up there. Memories flooded back—waiting in the Rengoku's estate, Shinjuro challenging you to drink, Senjuro offering you a room to rest. You sat up abruptly. Those voices... they belonged to Kyojuro and another person, likely Mitsuri. They were engaged in animated conversation with Senjuro. Hastily dressing, you quietly slipped out of the guest room, hoping to make your escape by jumping over the garden wall before they noticed your presence. However, Kyojuro spotted you from a distance and called out to you before you could elude them. Damn.
"Oh! Kanoko! It's been a while! I'm glad to see you!"
You swore inwardly. You were not sure if you were ready to get acquainted with his tsuguko, especially in your current state.
"Good to see you too, Kyojuro."
As they approached you, you noticed the extent of your friend's injuries. His arm was in a sling, and bandages covered him all over. Despite it all, his smile remained as radiant as ever. Well, at least until he got closer to you. Suddenly, his expression darkened.
"Kanoko... I can smell sake on you," he remarked.
Senjuro immediately came to your defense. "Oh, yes... Father allowed her to stay yesterday, but he made her drink a lot. Fortunately, everything went well. Kanoko can hold her liquor."
You weren't sure if that information comforted Kyojuro. He was looking at you with an unreadable expression, which you interpreted as disapproval. You wondered if you were as difficult to read as he was, you who strived every day to keep your emotions and expressions under control. Nevertheless, you gave him a reassuring smile.
"It's nothing. At least it went better than our first meeting."
The brothers introduced you and Mitsuri formally. Normally, you went by the name Masako Himawari when meeting strangers (the given name was a reference to how Kyojuro addressed you the first time you met), and the Rengokus knew that. However, since they called you by your real name, you guessed that Mitsuri had earned their trust.
"I'm glad to finally meet you, Nagase-san! Rengoku-sama told me that you are a highly skilled swordswoman! You even held your ground against a former Hashira in a drinking contest! You're truly amazing!"
You felt a blush creeping onto your cheeks at Mitsuri's fervent praise. It was undeniable that she possessed a captivating charm. However, your attention was fixated on her haori, which was identical to your friend's. Did he give it to her? You pushed aside the unpleasant emotions that surged within you.
"Aneue, my brother managed to defeat one of the Lower Moons all by himself!" Senjuro eagerly announced, thanksfully breaking your thoughts. "He will probably become a Pillar!"
"Congratulations Kyojuro!" you beamed, genuinely happy for your friend. Since you had known each other, you understood that achieving this rank was one of his greatest desires, both to honor his mother's wishes and to restore hope in his father. In different circumstances, you might have embraced him tightly, celebrating his achievement. However, considering his injuries, Mitsuri's presence, and the lingering scent of sake on you, you restrained yourself and settled for a friendly squeeze on his uninjured shoulder. He reciprocated by placing his hand on top of yours, his smile more relaxed than before.
"Thank you! But we haven't received official confirmation yet. I will let you know when we can properly celebrate this!"
After exchanging more pleasantries, you bowed and swiftly made your departure, feeling relieved to return to your own place and to put this embarrassing reunion behind you.
Kyojuro was summoned to the Ubuyashiki estate a week later, which was a positive sign for his promotion. However, when he visited you afterward, he seemed darker than usual, especially on a day that should have been his happiest. Nonetheless, he carried a folded garment with him, which you recognized as the traditional haori of the Flame Pillar. Excitement brimmed within you as you rushed to greet him, a wide grin stretching across your face.
"Kyojuro! Is it official? Have you become a Hashira?" you eagerly asked.
"Indeed!" he replied, his usual cheerful expression returning. "I was waiting to join you before donning my haori and making it official."
"Oh! I can't wait to see you wearing it!" you exclaimed, clapping your hands in excitement.
With a natural air of confidence, as if he had worn it his whole life, Kyojuro draped the cape adorned with flame patterns from his family over his new Demon Slayer uniform, complete with golden buttons. Your heart skipped a beat, but you quickly shook your head, dismissing any lingering emotions. Keeping your hands clasped together, you showered him with praise.
"The haori looks magnificent on you; it truly gives you a heroic air! I'm genuinely proud of you; you've worked hard to get here. I'm sure your mother would be overjoyed too."
His smile softened. You could discern a complex blend of sadness and joy in his usually intense gaze.
"Hmm. I hope so."
"How did Senjuro and your father react to the news?" you inquired.
"My little brother was thrilled, but my father... well, he didn't react at all. As a result, Senjuro became discouraged... He held onto the hope that if he followed in my footsteps, he would finally earn our father's consideration. Unfortunately, it seems that won't be the case."
"Oh... I'm sorry it turned out that way. I'll visit Senjuro tomorrow to cheer him up."
"Thank you! That would mean a lot to him. He missed you a great deal during these past few months."
You smiled, realizing that both brothers had told you the same thing about each other.
"I've prepared something to eat for our celebration. Come on in!" you invited warmly.
Dinner consisted of roasted sweet potatoes and salt-grilled dorado, accompanied by pickled vegetables and sencha tea. You had also saved high-quality matcha tea for dessert, acquired during your travels, and had prepared homemade yokan using sweet potatoes.
"Oh...! I see that you've prepared my favorite dishes. Thank you!" Kyojuro exclaimed upon seeing the filled table. His worries seemed to dissipate in the presence of the food.
"Of course, we promised to celebrate this day, didn't we? Let's eat while it's still warm," you replied with a smile.
As you both dug into the delicious meal, you engaged in carefree conversation. Before moving on to dessert, you seized a quiet moment to present Kyojuro with a small package. He accepted it with an intrigued expression.
"It's nothing extravagant, but it's a token of my congratulations," you explained.
"Hmm! That's very kind of you. You didn't have to, especially after the feast you've provided," Kyojuro remarked.
Shaking your head, you encouraged him to open the package. As he unwrapped it, two beautifully crafted books were revealed. One appeared aged but impeccably preserved, while the other was new and untouched. Kyojuro looked at you with curiosity as he held the two items in his hands.
"The old one are the memoirs of my ancestor, Nagase Oai. We don't have precise information about her origins, but she arrived from the continent about three hundred years ago and adopted a Japanese name. She was already a master of Time Breathing, it seems this technique was used by some priests from distant lands to hunt down demons. She shared a close bond with the first Flame Pillar, there were even rumors that they were lovers out of wedlock. She was not part of the Kisatsutai, though, due to prejudice against her foreign origins and religion at this time. Despite not using the same Breathing style, your ancestor and mine refined their techniques together. This book recounts their training and shared battles. While I know you focused on three books from your household to refine your Flame Breathing, I thought this new narrative would pique your interest."
"That's a heirloom of your family! It holds immeasurable value. Are you sure you want to entrust it to me?" Kyojuro asked, visibly moved.
"I'm not just entrusting it to you, Kyojuro. I'm giving it to you. I've already read it myself and found it incredibly insightful. I hope you'll find it just as meaningful," you explained sincerely.
"I have no doubt about that! Thank you for this precious gift. And what about this one?" he inquired, holding up the brand-new book.
"I had an artisan from Saitama specially craft it for you. It will serve as a vessel for preserving your memories as the Flame Pillar, allowing future generations to draw inspiration and learn from your extraordinary achievements," you explained.
As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the room, you noticed a slight blush on Kyojuro's cheeks, but it could have been a trick of the light.
"How thoughtful of you! I'm not sure if I'll be able to convey everything I've learned and experienced so far with the same ability as my predecessors, but I'll certainly give it my best!" Kyojuro expressed, appreciating your gesture.
"I'm counting on you, and your future descendants too, Kyojuro," you replied with a wink.
Kyojuro seemed visibly embarrassed. "It's a little early to think about that!" he responded hastily. "I would need to be married first, and that's not happening anytime soon, I'm afraid."
Teasingly, you remarked, "You've reached marriage age some time ago, though," choosing not to mention Mitsuri as a potential candidate. "And as for children, who knows? You might have already scattered a few across the country..."
He opened his mouth in shock and stood up indignantly.
"Certainly not!" he vehemently denied. "I have many other concerns besides women. I am a Demon Slayer and now the Flame Pillar, and I take my responsibilities very seriously!"
Realizing the impact of your comment, you quickly interjected, "I know, I'm sorry. I was just joking..." You knew the dutiful and serious Kyojuro was not one to engage in frivolous activities, especially during a mission. He admired his father's loyalty and faithfulness to his wife.
Concerned, Kyojuro asked with flushed cheeks, "Do you indulge in such activities during a mission?!"
A vein pulsed on your temple as you stood up, matching his intensity. "Hey! I'm a woman, and if I were to engage in intimate activities, I would be risking ending up alone with a child, all for the sake of a spoonful of intel. Do I look that foolish to you?"
"Oh! That's right. And no, Kanoko, you're very clever!"
You exchanged challenging looks for a few more seconds before succumbing to laughter, finding the whole argument absurd. With the tension diffused, you both returned to dessert, the atmosphere considerably lighter.
As the conversation shifted, Kyojuro finally asked you with genuine curiosity, "Do you plan on getting married and having children someday?"
You paused for a moment, contemplating your response. "Well... I'm not entirely sure," you replied thoughtfully. "In an ideal world, I would like to, but it's hard to envision that with the constant presence of demons. Considering they've been around for centuries, it's unlikely things will change anytime soon. Besides, unless I settle down with a Nichirin sword swordsmith like my ancestors, I don't think anyone would want a demon hunter as a wife."
You spoke without regret, for the reality of marriage and motherhood felt incompatible with the path you had chosen. It wasn't something that bothered you deeply.
"Don't say such somber things, Kanoko," Kyojuro interjected in a serious tone, breaking the silence and placing his hand on yours. "As for me..."
His words were abruptly interrupted by the caw of his crow companion. Internally, you cursed the bird, and even Kyojuro visibly clenched his teeth in frustration.
"A powerful demon has been spotted in Yokohama! Oyakata-sama requests that you behead it before it claims more victims!"
Returning to his martial stance, Kyojuro gently released your hand and stood up, his fists clenched with determination. His cape billowed in the wind, symbolizing his unwavering resolve.
"It appears I don't have time to rest afterall. Duty calls," Kyojuro declared. "I hope to see you soon, Kanoko. I'll write to you as soon as I can."
In a flash of light, he vanished, leaving only a streak of flames behind. You remained on the engawa for a while, staring at the spot where he had disappeared, wondering what he was about to say.
Would you ever find out?

Taisho Secret: During this era, the legal marriage age was 15 for girls and 17 for boys. However, most Demon Slayers were too consumed by their duties to consider marrying at a young age, and chose to dedicate their lives to the noble cause of demon hunting.

ok i have made this chart using (at least 60% of) my ocs. and im going to explain why everyone falls where they do under the cut because i want to talk about them :)
so the ground rules for this sport are that I am judging by physical fights ONLY. it's no fun if everyone's allowed to do their wacky magic shit. This is also why Charlie is as low as they are: because they're a shrimpy ass mage.
Speaking of at the bottom. Everybody in the "easy to beat up" category is generally shrimpy or otherwise bad at physical fighting. Isabella and Imogen are pacifists, David can't do much without his parasol/anesthesia gun, and Rodrigo and Charlie are mages. Nowhere, of all of these, is the only actually skilled physical fighter, but I'm including a "no sneaking" rule in my "no magic" rules. Nowhere's really only good if they can run away; in a straight-on physical fight I imagine they'd actually do pretty poorly.
Skipping to the top. The most physically capable people in my little cadre: Marie, Nkiru, Void, Poppy, and Andrea because of relentless training and in Marie's case being 6'4" and built like a brick shithouse. Adami and Niko are a little different--Adami is, if I remember the canon I wrote correctly, incapable of losing a physical altercation so long as they carry anger in their heart, so they're technically the most powerful person here. Niko is a hundred-year-old vampire and 6'7", with the whole unnatural strength, hypnotic gaze, and turn-into-bats type capabilities that make her fucking hard to beat. (I'm not counting these as magic btw because it's not something she's channeling, it's just part of how her body works.) It takes poor Hunter and Em about fifty thousand words to get around to killing Niko and they still both die, so. Yeah.
For the middle crowd: being a teenager gets most of these people an automatic demotion on account of not being finished growing yet. The exception: Lyra, because she's 6'0" and very strong. Alaric gets demoted because frankly it's funnier for him to get beat up, and also because I don't think in most cases he'd take a fight seriously enough to give it his all. Hunter is better in a fight than Em despite being physically weaker because Hunter tends to be more strategic. And because Hunter kicks her ass in the novel
On to the x axis. Generally I assumed this meant how satisfying it would be to beat them up, but also in Poppy's case it's how satisfying the fight would be in general, regardless of how it ends. Poppy's a gladiator, and they know how to put on a fun show. Niko and Em are in the satisfying category because they are both definitely evil, and personally I think that would be satisfying. Also, both being beautiful women, i think it would be satisfying to get beat up by them Alaric and Charlie are both well-intentioned but they tend to do shit that makes their friends want to punch them, so they also get to be on the right.
On the left are all the sweethearts xoxo except Jaime, who would be unsatisfying because she would just curb stomp your ego about it, as she's very arrogant. Nkiru would probably be lecturing you about technique. Marie and Void are just stoic, so there's be no satisfaction for anybody in that shit.
hmm. that's it. thanks for reading <3

THEY HIT THE FUCKING PENTAGON THEORY
i deeply, truly apologise for two theories in one night. i was not prepared. i posted the episode 3 evidence overview and i was thinking about how there wasn't really anything for door and i iii was talking with a friend. big fan of world of darkness he certainly knows more than me. showed him the previous theory he had an idea. and he. he came up with this. i helped. it's.. a behemoth of a theory that comes in two main parts. please, please stick with me on this one. all of this is completely, 100% serious, and i 100% believe that my final conclusion on this one will come through and be completely true as POSSIBLY the final conclusion to this story- which really goes to show how SKILLED the ogre poppenang is when it comes to writing and setup, especially when you can somewhat predict the endgame of your story when it hasn't even kicked off yet properly. without further ado; THEORY PART 1A; DOOR IS A US ARMY VETERAN door is very, very patriotic. it's a clear part of his personality, even to comical levels. this is consistent with someone who would fight and die for his country, SPECIFICALLY someone who fought in a recent war. obviously people can be patriotic without being vets, but specific other circumstances around door make it far more likely that this is a result of either trauma or conditioning- even more so with active military service. but that comes in the second part of the theory PLEASE bear with me door is very, very skilled with guns- and even more so with explosives, as seen by the minefield laid out in front of kitten's house. he's clearly taught boy how to use them well, too, considering how boy uses proper safety techniques whilst operating a pistol, as well as how boy is able to hit a moving target whilst hidden in bushes at quite a distance away. he's extremely skilled at getting a message across without much fuss. particularly, he tells kitten that he's getting his old mining equipment- previously, we've assumed that door is talking about actual mining operations. like in the ground, but i'm here to propose that he isn't talking about that. he's talking about bomb defusal- he wears a bomb defusal suit that says us army into a minefield to fight pyotr.

(for the uninformed, EoD refers to explosive ordinance defusal) all of this combined, particularly the last piece of evidence, leads me to believe that door is a us army veteran specialising in the defusal of explosive armaments. him referring to his old mining days is him covertly telling kitten to lure pyotr into the minefield, using the stilts to distract him from looking down. marckus isn't aware of this, because marckus wasn't told. door is a pragmatic man and marckus is also always just absolutely fucking up. this is important i assure you THEORY PART 1B; WHERE DID HE SERVE?
so, we've established that door is a us army vet. where did he serve? it's logical to assume that door served in the most recent war. this would be the iraq war, but this doesn't line up for a few reasons. firstly, the iraq war is going on as the series happens- importantly, it started in mid 2003, meaning door would still be on a tour of duty when the series happens. marckus also mentions that the family has been in england for a period of time, making this more unlikely. door would likely have moved with them for a couple of reasons, specifically the fact that they're all hunters and hunters tend to clump together canonically. this means that door would have had to have gotten out of the army in some capacity by 2002 at least, considering that the series begins in 2005. this means that it is more than likely that door served in the gulf war. this would make sense for other parts of the theory, too- the gulf war took place in the area surrounding jerusalem and ancient mesopotamia, something very very important for the next bits of the theory. explosive armaments were also heavily used during the gulf war period, which would make sense for door specifically. so we've established that door is a us army veteran who served in the gulf war, giving him ties to the american government and areas around jerusalem. this is very, very important, not just for character, but for the next parts of the theory. let me explain THEORY PART 2A; WHAT IS A BLANKBODY? in order to explain the next part of this theory properly, i'm going to need to explain a few things lore wise. the second inquisition is a massive globespanning organisation dedicated to hunting vampires. it started in the united states after the 9/11 attacks, when NSA and CIA agents stumbled across evidence of vampires in their ranks after surveillance in the US stepped up. before this, only the vatican knew of the existence of vampires, but was too weak to do anything to stop them- in the middle ages, however, the catholic church had a society called the uhh society of leopold that fought vampires within the catholic church and in wider society. it was recanonised in 2005.. the same year HTP takes place. the society of leopold and the second inquisition work very, very closely with the second inquisition and FIRSTLIGHT, the second inquisition's branch in the US government. the second inquisition uses very specific terminology to refer to vampires. specifically, they call them blankbodies. who else calls vampires blankbodies? door. who knows the most about vampires in the team? the easy answer is d and kitten, but kitten is guessing. kitten is learning fast, sure, but he's focusing on bloodlines and powers and all that. not the important stuff. door, on the other hand, has the good sense to create a basement able to contain vampires, knows of the inherent dehumanisation being a vampire brings, plants mines in the front yard, teaches his son how to fire a gun, keeps his old minefield gear handy JUST IN CASE.. he doesn't know specifics about vampires. or, rather, he's not repeating stuff he knows in case it isn't true. we the audience know that pyotr was telling the truth, but door doesn't. none of that matters, though- what matters is that door doesn't find the vampire threat fascinating, or cool, or interesting. he takes it seriously. door fought in the gulf war, and it's implied he lost a lot of people to it in the first episode. the interesting bit, though, is that he doesn't seem to blame the war for it- he blames VAMPIRES. it's possible that door actually lost his team to vampires whilst operating in the jerusalem region- the ancient homeland of vampires. the nsa also cracked the nosferatu internet in 2004, one year before the events of HTP. that's interesting- even more interesting is that door is in london, the supernatural hotspot of the world, directly after this happens. hmm.
THEORY PART 2B; WHATS YOUR POINT, CONNOR? MY POINT IS.
"The traffic in intelligence does not go only one way: the Entity now incorpo- rates the newly re-canonized Society of St. Leopold, which provides FIRSTLIGHT and others with records from the last Inquisition and important perspective on the “blankbody” threat."
this is a quote from the official hunter sourcebook. the entity and the society of leopold needs veterans with experience with vampires. why? in 2006, wod timeline, london is entirely purged of vampires. entirely. one year after the series happens. what i'm saying here is that door is the VETERAN THEY NEED. door is scouting out london so that the purge can happen flawlessly. door went to jerusalem, saw the resting place of malkav, got his team fucked over, and is now working with the second inquisition and the society of leopold to put them down permanently. i don't know why he's cooperating with a fae and a bastet. i don't know if he knows what the implications of boy being a feral child are. i don't think he knows, and i think it'll go very badly if he ever finds out. the series will end with the purge of london, and i dont think it'll be shot in a positive light. i guarantee it. mark my fucking words. let me know if anyone has anything to add

Danny stayed out of the ghost portal. And when they got back to the house, it was Jack who was poking around who accidentally hit the On switch and became a halfa. What would Jack do? He's already a pretty obsessed human! Would Maddie hate him now? Would they team up to experiment on his powers? Would he hide it from her very very badly? Would they try to reverse it? Would they publish a research paper and get GIW after them?
Oh this THIS could be fun because the name of this game is m i s c o m m u n i c a t i o n
Ok so Jcak goes in the portal, great big flash, everything just changed blah blah. He's now a human/ghost hybrid. He ofc tells Maddie because they're partners in everything. They're scared yet fascinated. Since they're convinced ghosts are evil, they thing Jack will eventually give into his 'evil' instincts. He starts distancing himself from his children in fear he'll hurt them, Maddie has weapons on her all the time specifically to take him down as needed.
But time passes and Jack, pretty much stays the same. J&M are fascinated and decide to use Jack's remaining time on Earth to study this phenomenon. They spend more and more time in the lab and, with their singular focus, don't really how worried and unhappy Danny and Jazz are. Jazz has kind of given up on them since they're now actively pulling away and she's only looking ahead to college. But Danny, sweet, sensitive, caring Danny feels like something is wrong. Wonders if there's something he can fix.
Jack Phantom makes appearances in Amity fighting ghosts occasionally but he prefers using his weaponry. It takes time for him to grow used to his abilities and what he is. Fighting dangerous ghosts again confirms his bias that they're evil and so he'll soon be that way too. Then comes the Reunion and they meet Plasmius for the first time, LOTS of inaccurate interpretations: Jack thinks Vlad is haunted by Plasmius and is trying to save him while keeping his ID a secret, Maddie puts 2 and 2 together on Vlad and Plasmius but Jack won't believe her, Vlad can't believe Jack had a similar accident to him but hides his nature to make the final blow more potent. And poor Danny, he sees Plasmius attacking his dad and thinks Jack has been pulling away bc he's being threatened by this ghost. Danny does the only thing he can do, he starts fighting ghosts.
Danny is not a natural ghost hunter but he learns and he learns quickly. Vlad learns of his attempts and finds it hilarious and sponsors Danny like he did Val in canon. Danny really looks up to Vlad and thanks him profusely for helping him to protect his dad. Vlad, in his skeevy but also pathetic way, finds he genuinely likes the attention from Danny and is impressed by his skills. He begins plotting, realizing if his and Jack's accident can happen twice on accident then he can replicate it again on purpose. He WILL have his perfect half ghost son.
Danny takes more and more responsibility as Amity's human ghost hunter. Sam and Tuck def get roped in, would be interesting if Jazz also became a ghost hunter, one who's more focused on keeping her brother safe from his dangerous new hobby. The Fenton Family has split in two from their secrets and no one realizes.
Jack Phantom and Hunter Danny (in disguise) initially start off antagonistic but it doesn't last long. Jack is too enthusiastic about a young human ghost hunter Gosh if only this could be Jack and his son! and starts telling him the ropes. Danny figures this is the ghost of an old ghost hunter and is fondly reminded of his dad who grows more distant by the day. Jack is impressed by the Hunter's techniques and Danny, well he's a hero nerd and is a bit jealous of the cool powers. Vlad keeps comically trying to pit the two against each other and it just doesn't work.
I'm losing my train of thought but things spiral further as Vlad tries to manipulate Jack in both forms, try to control and turn Danny against his folks and also somehow turn him half ghost. Danny actually gets along better with the ghosts than J&M and helps them realize that not all ghosts are evil. Just this slow journey of the Fentons breaking apart and then coming back together only no one realizes that they're actually family bonding this whole time.

HXH headcanons bc i've gotten back into it recently.
for the sake of these headcanons, i am taking many canon liberties bc i can do whatever i want this is my blog.
hisoka and illumi are terrible parents. they have no idea what they are doing, they don't really agree on how to parent and they make alot of mistakes. but their kids turn out ok, despite being a little fucked up and having the normal zoldyck-morrow family weirdness, they turn out pretty good and well adjusted. they love their parents and this is because despite all the mistakes hisoka and illumi made, they loved the fucking shit out of their kids, even with all of the fuck ups. hisoka and illumi can admit they're terrible parents and their kids will probably say "yeah, could've read more parenting books" but they were well loved and that's why they turned out ok.
kalluto grows up with the phantom troupe and eventually starts really pulling away from the zoldyck family. and let me tell you this kid is unhinged. the troupe taught him all kinds of things from fighting techniques to cooking to lock picking to stealing. he goes to zoldyck family dinners and shows off the cool shit he stole to literally anyone who will listen. the troupe taught him how to have fun and he fucking loves it.
when gons grandmother died, he was with killua in yorkshin for a hunt. they had just finished the hunt when he got the news from mito. killua went back to whale island with him and they stayed for six months to help mito. gon was completely broken up and killua didn't really know what to do, but he did his best to try and comfort gon by distracting him and just hanging out with him. it was a long grieving period but killua was able to help pull him out of it.
illumi is lustful for power and he raised his kids to also want more. hisoka tried to balance this by trying to get them more focused on the fight rather than the outcome like he enjoys. all this did was make really really competitive kids. like insanely competitive. even fucking checkers is a death match i stg. the bet and compete with everything including hunts, assassinations, and their own parents.
leorio becomes a doctor and a really good one. so he is the one to constantly patch up kurapika, whether it's after a hunt or one of kurapika's own personal missions. leorio is always the one to heal and help him. leorio has seen kurapika on his deathbed and bleeding out, but no matter what, he always comes back. he always heals him.
ya know how leorio got that hit in with ging. eventually more people come across him and know who he is. even random strangers who know gon will see ging and "ayo isnt that gons dad?!" more and more people get hits on him bc when they see him it's just, "there's that asshole who left gon-" so hisoka gets a couple hits, kurapika, killua, the random hunter from yorkshin, a nice couple who sheltered gon when he was injured from a hunt. basically: everyone hates ging.
neferpitou and doc martins. thats it. that's the headcanon.
ur telling me that gon doesn't have the most random skills ever. living on whale island, he picked up some random ass skills. this kid can gut fish, knit, speak a couple small languages spoken around the island, he can do floral arrangements, he can do rlly good business math???, just all this random shit that people around the island needed help with and he got taught how to do it so he could help them. i would also like to add that killua starts gaining some of these skills the more he hangs out with gon.
when hisoka and illumi have kids, killua tries to kidnap them so protect them from illumi. hisoka caught him trying to talk their four year old daughter out the window with him. they were celebrating a birthday and hisoka just fucking invites killua like- "darling get away from your uncle, also, killua, would you like to come sing happy birthday with us"
kalluto grows out his hair like illumi's while he's in the phantom troupe. kalluto loves long hair but it does get annoying sometimes, so machi, like a joke suggests space buns. and kalluto has like a epiphany. he goes the the bathroom mirror and puts his hair up in space buns and he looks wondering. hair strands hanging around his face, messy buns- it's practical and looks good so he just went with it.

Random date night with Illumi, Hisoka, and Chrollo
Tumblr media
Hello, anon! Ask and you shall receive! This prompt is very interesting and I will try to keep it in character as much as possible. To sum this up, Hisoka would take you to an ice cream shop, a carnival, or apple orchard while Illumi would rather go to an art or historical museum. Chrollo would persuade you to attend a book reading/author signing or go hiking. Depending on who you are and what your ideal date is, I’m sure you’d find them all fun. Going to a carnival or apple orchard is my go-to since I’ve barely been because they’re all in the suburbs. These headcanons are explained much more than the others. That is why Chrollo and Illumi seem to be short, but they’re not. Also, I can’t wait for Halloween because these headcanons are going to be amazing. I am extremely sorry if there are grammar errors! Taking classes on Zoom is frustrating and now my brain has to relearn everything that I lost in 3 months! Before we get started, I have a few announcements.
This post is more laid back than my other headcanons because I tried to keep it as canon as possible.
I want to thank you all for 65 followers! It means a lot! I’m happy to see that a lot of you enjoy my writing and like it enough to follow me! I have a challenge for you! When I reach 100 followers, I will host some type of writing event here...but I need ideas. I’ve seen some pages do specials where you can send an ask and pretend like you're talking to a character and I respond with what they’d say. SEND ME IDEAS! I WILL CREDIT YOU!
I will be stepping back a little more than before. I’ll still be logged in and re-blogging but as far as writing posts like this...it may only be once or twice a week. You see, I’m in college and I’m struggling financially and I have to work on scholarships. If you all send me an ask, be patient.
Voltron posts will only be created based on asks. I will not be writing posts about VLD if no one requests them. I do not receive any feedback from it anymore and no one seems to like them.
Now, let’s get into the post.
Let's start with Illumi first.
Tumblr media
Headcanon 1: Illumi has a secret admiration for different types of art but he specifically enjoys pop art and surrealism. He has commented on how surrealism makes his brain twist and his feelings swirl as he tries to figure out the piece and what inspires it.
He prefers not to participate in tours as he likes to digest the art at his own pace.
Headcanon 2: In his spare time, he paints on a canvas. His art style consists of both surrealism and abstract art. For a person with a dark personality, his compositions always contain bright colors and abstract techniques that leave you wondering about his TRUE personality. He is truly a good man with a bright personality but after being abused for so long, those behaviors/personalities have been shoved so far down his throat that they may not come back up.
He has a bad habit of asking you what you thought about every single piece of art you passed. The conversations were great but this is a date after all. The playful conversation slowly turns into a lecture about art. Although you loved your bf’s dictionary-like brain it also drained your energy.
One of his favorite artists is Vincent Van Gough. Although he favors surrealism, Van Gogh’s art style was mind-blowing to him. So amazed that he buys several Van Gogh t-shirts from the gift shop.
His favorite piece created by Van Gough is “Starry Night”.
He notices that you are becoming bored and decides that it is time for MORE excitement, one that you are certain to enjoy.
“Where are we going,” you ask, pretending to be interested.
“Down to the basement. We are going to have a bite to eat.”
Since Illumi rarely smiled, when he did smile it drove you wild. The anticipation of what his next move was going to be is what drove that wildness. Being a bounty hunter was thrilling already but dating a smart, badass assassin was totally out of your league but it worked out.
Headcanon 3: Illumi’s idea of being romantic is dramatically different from yours. He believes just spending time with you on the couch was enough. He is correct; but if you have the time and funds, your time together should be a little spontaneous. You insisted on dates outside of the house because his family will not stay out of your business.
“Illumi, I am too hungry for more trivia.”
He chuckles. “Don’t worry. So am I. That is why I’ve decided to take you to a wine and cheese party.”
Huh? Wine and Cheese at 3PM? That’s ok. When was there a time limit on when you can drink alcohol?
Illumi has indirectly attended parties as such when he was 15 years old. He never drank, but he watched as his mother’s friends (surprisingly) talked about business and their children. This time, you weren’t going to talk about business for once. Instead, you two were going to actually talk about what couples discuss.
Headcanon 4: When introduced to alcohol for the first time, Illumi immediately stated how he hated brown liquor. That includes Hennessy, Jack Daniels, etc. It makes him sick to his stomach. He prefers to drink Smirnoff mixed with fruity drinks like strawberry or pineapple.
He loves it when you make these drinks for him on a summer day.
Hence the title wine and cheese, you both go to a stand-up table, place your brochures down, and actually have a wonderful conversation not involving work or hunting.
Illumi smiled a few times, more than usual. Whenever he appears to be softer even around you, that is because he has mellowed out and doesn't have the overbearing weight of his family on his shoulders. You set him free.
Tumblr media
Hisoka
According to a one-shot that another manga artist created, they expressed that Hisoka was found on the side of the road, was taken in by someone that worked at a local circus, and learned Nen in a matter of days. Hisoka’s clown look and having the skills of a magician proves that this has to be canon in some way.
Headcanon 1: Given this potential backstory, going to a carnival is his go-to every summer. He wants to take you to a circus but saves that for you as an engagement gift.
Everyone with a heart knows that whether or not you’re in a relationship or not the carnival is fun as hell! Expensive fried food, elephant ears, funnel cake, ICEE’s, rides, and stuffed animals are to die for!
Being at a carnival relaxes him so his bloodlust isn’t activated unless someone bumps into him and causes a scene.
Headcanon 2: PDA is something that Hisoka does well; he doesn’t overdo it but does it enough where people get the impression that you are a couple and aren’t “best friends”.
While completing a mission depending on how rough it may be, he insists that you tag along to see how he handles the situation. You’ve already seen his ruthlessness from Hunter’s exam but he insists.
His sense of pride gets the best of him sometimes. Sometimes his head is so big that it reminds you of a large birthday balloon.
Headcanon 3: ANYWAY, given his nature, he is very adventurous, dangerous, and courageous. If he wants to go on the Demon Drop, he’ll do it and you DO not have a choice in the matter. He’ll tease or guilt trip you into doing something that you would not like to do.
“Well, you wouldn’t want me to cling on to someone else, would you?”
“No. Of course not,” you reply.
“Let’s go then, scaredy-cat.”
As a hunter, you’ve seen worse. Why are you so afraid to go on a ride?
Headcanon 4: At apple orchards, cornfield mazes are one of his favorites. You cannot for the life of you figure out how to get out but he can. He grabs a scarecrow and scares you from behind. That annoys you but is nothing compared to later on that night.
Oh. My. God. It’s haunted house time!
“Hisoka, I’m not going in!”
“Why not? I’ll protect you.”
“Because they’re monsters and I already have to deal with one.”
It took him a second to catch on that you were talking about him.
“That’s going to bite you in the butt, kitten.”
Headcanon 5: Like Killua, Hisoka has a sweet tooth. Don’t allow his buff appearance to fool you!
He LOVES caramel apples, elephant ears, funnel cake, freshly squeezed lemonade, fudge, and cotton candy. How can this man manage to stay in shape? The world may never know.
Headcanon 6: He isn’t one to play by other people’s rules but he sets his own rules with your relationship that you both must obey. One of those rules says that neither of you can be on your phones while together.
Headcanon 7: Hisoka insists that you both wear either matching pants or matching shirts to avoid unnecessary flirtation.
He isn’t jealous but on “us time”, he doesn’t want to lose a single second.
Headcanon 8: Hisoka only jumps in when necessary. Given that you’ve passed the hunter’s exam and work as a bodyguard, he knows you can handle your business. If the person can’t take a hint, then he steps in. They almost back up immediately considering Hisoka is towering over them.
When the moon shines, you both go to the car and off to sleep in your comfy king-sized bed.
Tumblr media
Chrollo
We all know that Chrollo loves to read! What does he specifically like to read? What Genre? Does he like to read alone or with other people?
Although Chrollo is a thief and must be hidden in the shadows, the authorities have called off the search for him for at least 3 years. Slowly but surely, he begins to find himself in the outside world again.
Chrollo once discussed a book with the Phantom Troupe when they were being transported to another place for a mission. He read “Tears of a Tiger” by Sharon M. Draper.
The reading sessions are opened with an affirmation and a reason to be thankful to be alive. He says he is thankful for the troupe, glances at you, and smiles. No one catches on to that sly face except for Phinks.
Headcanon 1: Chrollo is very silent and shy to an extent. He only associates with people he knows and trusts. You are the social butterfly at this moment.
Chrollo tags along behind you like a shy child, holding your hand while you stick out your free hand to greet everyone.
Today, the book club was going to read “Divergent”.
Headcanon 2: Although he loves to read, he hates it when others read out loud. Most people are drably read and it annoys him. After a while, he takes over. Chrollo was tense the first 30 minutes of the meeting because two cops were there but neither of them noticed it was him.
Headcanon 3: Chrollo often acts the part of the character that he is reading in the book. His tone, attitude, and emphasis on certain words keep the group engaged. He is complimented on his acting!
“Good Job, honey,” you whisper.
He responds by tightly squeezing your hand.
His tone was so impressive that the host insisted that he read for the entire night. He was ok with that because in between reads he was often distracted by a lovely pair of jeans and shoes you had on. You were into writing, so hearing others read and act out the characters helped.
Headcanon 4: In some settings, Chrollo is very braggadocious. He insisted that the group read one of your stories so you could be provided with feedback.
“We’d be delighted to view your story, y/n!”
“It will be fun!”
The book club wasn’t a stereotypical club that only consisted of soccer moms but instead consisted of men and women who were involved with a business, law enforcement, health, etc. This was an open space for everyone to relax and forget about their demanding jobs.
After the meeting, the group went to dinner at a nearby pizzeria. You all enjoyed large pizzas, beer, salads, and dessert. How could your stomach (or anyone’s stomach) hold that much?
Chrollo laughed so much that it made you question if he was your actual boyfriend or not. He even engaged in conversations with the two off-duty cops! For once, you helped Chrollo experience the greater things in life; true love, friendship, and happiness.
“Thank you,” he whispered and slyly placed a kiss on your hand. “For everything.”

hey again mandy!! i was wondering if you could rec some fluffy destiel fics? just your favorite ones if you’ve got some, either fluffy or angsty! i’d love to add some diversity to my bookmark list ☺️💕
Ooohh yeah! You sent this right as an anon sent the same request :3
Anon: I have seen your answer to an anon and now I want you to do a list of your favorite destiel fics please!! I just need to read fluffy fics but I also want some that have very good plot and also good portray of the characters but with a happy ending i can’t stomach more sadness. Thanks!! By the way for these who haven’t read it I want to recommend a very good fic call I don’t care where you been.
So I’m not too big on angst, like yes I do love angst, it can be good for the plot/character development/etc, but sometimes too much angst is well, too much for me to handle lol. Fluff is my bread and butter when it comes to not only writing, but reading. It can do me no harm, besides making my cheeks hurt from smiling so dang much!
So here is my list of fluffy, plotty, longfics! These are pretty old, because I haven’t been in the market for any destiel longfic in the recent years, besides oneshots and a few WIPs here and there. (i’m still neck deep into the stucky dumpster lol) 6 canon fics and 6 AU’s :D
CANON
Professional Couple Only by saltyfeathers (Fake/Pretend Relationship) - There's a haunted apartment building in Vermont, and the ad says "Professional couple only". Dean and Cas rise to the occasion.
The Silence Between Heartbeats by yesmsmoran (elliedew) (2x20 AU) -  "Fic that replaces Carmen with Cas. And then, when Dean wakes up and he meets Cas for the first time he freaks out because it's the only man he's ever loved and he's so confused as to how he can be real when he obviously had to be something the djinn created."
i wanna see your animal side by microcomets (Animal Transformation) - Dean gets attached to a dark-haired, blue-eyed kitten. He hates cats, so he can't really say why.
Just To Make You See by youaresunlight (Mutual Pining) - “I’ve been reading,” Cas explains, lifting his coat to reach for something inside. It’s another magazine but not one about nature or economics. It’s a GQ with a suave male celebrity gracing the cover. “There’s an article in here that gives advice to those who are ‘seeking to escape the friend zone.’”
And I Will Walk On Water by tracy_loo_who (Post-S4) - This fic is set after season 4 and totals ~122,600 words. It's a story about friendship and love, recovery and trust, free will, and Dean and Castiel's journey through it all. It's also about chocolate and hugs. If you read it, I really hope you enjoy it. ♥
Broadway Musical by Griftings (HILLARIOUS GO READ IT) - This is the day that marked the Holy and Blessed Union of Dean Winchester and Jo Harvelle. The merging of prominent bloodlines is always a grand occurrence, but breeding pedigree hunter families like Winchester and Harvelle is something to be rejoiced. It is also something to be meticulously planned, which thankfully the Host is very good at.Or, the romantic comedy where Dean Winchester and Jo Harvelle are destined to get married, Castiel is given the task of playing matchmaker and fails terribly, the entire Heavenly Host becomes a sitcom audience, God warns against male pregnancy, and Jimmy Novak is incredibly unimpressed with angels in general.
AU
a world above water by museaway (Fairy Tale AU) - Castiel’s hope for freedom is threatened by a chance encounter with the Crowned Prince of Lawrence, who is trying to avoid an arranged marriage
To Find a Family by linasane (Kid Fic, Domestic) - When Dean's little brother gets taken away, he's expecting the fight that ensues. He's expecting the stress that comes from separation, expecting to do all he can to get Sammy back from whatever awful foster family he's been placed with. He's not expecting Castiel Novak. (Castiel, in turn, isn't expecting his first foster child - five years old and angry - to be the one that leads him to the family he's always wanted, but life has a funny way of working itself out).
Shorten the Distance by GhostGarrison (Online/Long Distance Relationship) - "Nerdytr3nchcoat" and "Impala67" weren't looking for romance on the dating website called 'dateangels.com'. Castiel was looking for friends and Dean was just looking to get his nagging brother off his back. What they didn't expect to find was each other. [a long distance, online relationship fic]
Cooking with Gas by WinJennster (Food Network/Chef!Cas) - Castiel Novak has it all. He's rich, famous, has a top rated cooking show and restaurant, drives an expensive car and wears Armani. His producer throws a contest to spend a day with Chef Novak, cooking and learning techniques. Castiel wants no part of it, but Balthazar insists and Castiel will do as expected. What Castiel wasn't expecting was to fall head over heels for the winner. Dean Winchester hasn't had a successful relationship in his 34 years on Earth. He's got a past he'd like to keep hidden, and his life rotates around his family and his business. Winning a contest to spend a day with his favorite TV chef is a shock, but a welcome diversion from his day to day life...until he meets the guy, and he turns out to be a big jerk. Dean figures he should have expected that. What he wasn't expecting was that same gorgeous blue-eyed man to sweep in and shake up his entire world.
Life In Pink by youaresunlight (Kid Fic - SO FLUFF) - At just 33 years old, Dean Winchester is one of the most sought-after wedding planners in the city. He’s chased his dream ever since he was a kid and is now on the brink of making partner at his firm. But the wedding that’ll make or break his promotion? Is his best friend Dr. Castiel Novak’s. It’s going to be the event of the season - unlimited budget, no expense spared - and it’s the kind of task that Dean has been waiting for… except he’s hopelessly in love with Cas.
Kiss the Baker by Ltleflrt (Bakery AU) - Jo is pregnant and craving something a little bit unusual. When she sends Dean on a mission to find her some chocolate cake donuts with bacon sprinkles, he's sure that he'll fail. Luckily his partner Benny comes to his rescue and introduces him to a quirky little bakery that sells all kinds of weird (and delicious!) baked goods. And they do special orders!Dean finds excuses to keep going back, and Castiel finds excuses to keep giving him special treats.
And I believe this is the fic Anon was referring to: don't care where you've been by thanks_tacos (A/B/O) Dean's life is finally changing. After years of enduring Alastair's abuse, the alpha dies and Dean's married off to the next alpha the system pairs him with - Castiel. The man is strange and distant, but not exactly bad, and Dean's determined to be on his best behavior and not mess up the chance he was given. Soon enough, though, he fucks up anyway and has to call the alpha for help.Castiel's lived his entire life without an omega by his side, and he was fine with that. He doesn't know how to proceed once he's suddenly married to a beautiful man who's obviously been through a lot. Omegas were always a confusing subject to him, so he tries not to interfere much - neither of them is there by their choice.
