With her last ounce of strength, the Nautilus escaped the deadly whirlpools of the Maelstrom and plunged deep into the icy shadows of the North Sea. For days she glided under the jagged pack ice until she found a hidden cave in the Karasik Seamount - a dark cathedral of stone and frozen water.
Here, far from any civilisation, Captain Nemo found refuge, while the eternal ice above them hid every trace of their existence. A narrow shaft in the rock face led up to a hidden opening - a gateway to the surface of the eternal ice.

I actually think Conseil is more Not Normal TM about Pierre than Nemo.
Like Nemo, despite his unhinged ways, cannot compete with:
'Oh! If I could only not breath, so as to leave more air for Monsieur.'
Conseil is the most ride or die character ever and I love that for him.

Captain Nemo
I drew this piece in 2019, and although I can see lots of mistakes and imperfections, it's still one of my favourite artworks

"You don't see characters in classic literature telling people their pronouns" I mean, if we're gonna get technical, Captain Nemo only has pronouns.

A quick comic strip I made some years ago. I've never really tried comics. For a long time I thought it would be too difficult for me ! How silly I was, this way to tell stories is the best one ever. :')
My story Libertatem is not about 20K, but it fills the blanks before and AFTER 20k :) But I wanted to illustrate a scene from the book, just to challenge myself first, with a part of the story which is not mine :)
Since then, my designs changed a little bit, especially Pf Arronax.

Key Features of a Captain Nemo Interpretation
indian (i cannot stress how important it is that this is number one with an electric bullet for reasons that would take another book to explain)
raw charisma
melancholic solitude
gutwrenching bleeding-heart sympathy for the oppressed
philosophical ambiguity so intricately multilayered that it offsets the murder stuff
the murder stuff

The whole concept for this project was everyone thinks the nautilus is a big monster -> what if Nemo became a big monster through like. The distortion of grief and all

When I say I want to meet my future spouse the "old fashioned way" what I mean is: I wish to be in a shipwreck caused by the creature (presumably some unnaturally large narwal) I have been searching for, only to discover that it is in fact the most incredible submarine(!!) and then get saved from the icy waters by it enigmatic captain with whom I fall desperately in love despite knowing it can never be for I am their captive in all but name.
