I knew from the get go that there are 8 Bridgerton siblings (in alphabetical order) plus Violet. But one fact I realised and found it amusing is that there are also 8 Eevee evolutions (Eeveelutions) plus Eevee. So I thought, why not have each Bridgerton have an Eeveelution. (I also nicknamed each of the Eeveelutions I caught in a Pokemon game based on the Bridgertons, but I digress...)
This is my own interpretation on the Bridgertons and which Eeveelution fits them as their partner. I'm happy to hear from any Bridgerton and Pokemon fans to have their own ideas on which Pokemon suits them. 😊
So here are the Bridgerteons:
Violet - Eevee 🦊👑
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Violet is the matriarch of the Bridgerton family, so obviously she gets an Eevee. She also wants to see all of her children find love and have happy marriages. She knows each of her children are different and that each couple has different experiences in love, like Eevee being adaptive in its environment.
Anthony - Jolteon⚡
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anthony is competitive, has mood swings, difficult, stubborn and protective. Jolteon is all those things. As the Viscount, he has a duty in helping his family be one of the best in the Ton. The death of his father plagued him, so he's emotionally closed off, like Jolteon's spikes on its body. Fortunately, he is loyal and would open his heart to the ones he loves and cares about. So he gets a Jolteon.
Benedict - Vaporeon 🌊
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both are chill, peaceful, go with the flow, calm and, as canon in the show, bisexual. Also, Benedict likes to hide from debutantes and their mamas, like Vaporeon likes to camouflage and melt into water. So he gets a Vaporeon. (No dirty jokes about Vaporeon, please 🙄)
Colin - Umbreon 🌙
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Colin wants to be a hero, likes being needed, and spreading light and joy to his loved ones. He is vulnerable, sensitive and kind to people he is close to, while under a facade when surrounded by the Ton, like the light and dark side of the moon. He always finds Penelope during balls and at night a couple of times, like an aura connection. So definitely an Umbreon.
Daphne - Sylveon 🎀
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the eldest daughter, Daphne is poise, elegant, gentle, and has great emotional intelligence. She can also be brave (she does charge towards Anthony and Simon while they are in a duel, like fairy types charging in towards dragon types in battles), competitive and assertive. So Sylveon it is.
Eloise - Espeon 🔮
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eloise likes to read, wants to change the world as a woman, and cynical. She's also quite a detective in identifying Lady Whistledown or people's 🐂💩, but is not great in identifying what people are feeling. Also, they have the same letter. So an Espeon.
Francesca - Flareon 🔥
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Francesca loves playing the piano and an introvert, so she's most likely indoors. She is brave and curious on what she wants to find herself and to find a partner who gets her. Also the same letter. So a Flareon. (It does help that Flareon will be keeping her warm during colder months in Scotland while playing the piano 😉).
Gregory - Glaceon ❄️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gregory is cheeky, young, fun and likes to pull pranks. He likes to be part of the Bridgerton shenanigans. He wants to join with his big brothers in anything, despite being young. Also the same letter. So a Glaceon.
Hyacinth - Leafeon 🍃
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hyacinth is also cheeky and young, but also an optimistic, loves romance, freespirited and innocent. She wants to be part of the glamour, gossip and excitement within the Ton. Also her name is based on a flower. So a Leafeon.
*Note: I'm being deliberate in calling it Bridgerteons as it is a combination of Bridgerton and Eon (a suffix for all the Eeveelutions, meaning a long period of time. It suits them as it takes a long time for them to find a partner, fall in love and get married 😏).

Thank you for taking my request, i just see all the teachers like a group of parents (especially after seeing Salvatore get worried over that lil pawmi in his story) no need to rush yourself but is it okay if we can get a part 2? 💛
Paldea Teachers being called Mom/Dad by student reader!
Salvatore
This guy is definitely among the sweeter staff members.
He was giving you your test back, you got a full score! In fact the whole class did!
He's so pleased with himself that he praises everyone but then people begin to laugh when you respond back with, "Thanks Dad."
He's surprised but his heart sings a bit. He loves how cute and goofy his students are.
But then the class pulls a prank on him by everyone calling him dad in a different language.
Now look at what you did!
Dendra
She had an after school voluntary gym workout class.
This was meant for students who wanted to be physically fit but surprisingly you're the only student
but it means you get the best teacher to student gym training anyone could ask for!
During your training, Dendra is hitting you with the constant praise, affirmation, and encouragement to do your best.
After an hour, she gives you a sports drink and tells you go rest. As you're thanking her for the drink, you accidentally call her mom.
Her eyes go WIDE when she hears that, her face and ears burning. But she then lets out a hearty laugh and tells you to not expect any homemade meals unless you somehow want a burnt sandwich
Saguaro
You were a student that often never got to enjoy homecooked meals prior to coming here. You never learned how to cook prior to coming here, only really eating instant food.
Saguaro sees the potential in you to cook exemplary food so he offers to give you some easy recipes to try out in your personal room.
One day, you surprise him with misshapen cookies. The shapes aren't quite right but the flavor is great!
He compliments you to no end, taking in great pride that you are improving. He even offers to give you a great big hug!
You hug him and mumble, "thanks dad," thinking he would not hear it.
But no. He did. He cries later in private with how sweet you were.
Hassel
Hassel is known to be the most emotional teacher out of the group due to how much he cares for everyone.
He's known for making a lot of connections with the students. Some go on to become great dragon masters, artists, or just in general great trainers.
Hassel teaches not only the value of art but the value of connections and relationships you make with people, so naturally people draw towards him as a parental figure.
Openly sobs into his arms in public hearing you call him dad because of how sweet you are. Please be sure you keep in contact with this man even after you graduate because he'll be thinking of you for years.
Director Clavell
It's common to see why people love the director so much.
He's kind, courteous, lenient, and overall a great leader to have.
He cares for every student, every teacher, every pokemon.
When you call him dad, no matter whether it be by accident or intentionally, he takes in great pride in knowing you see him as family.
He does digress that though he is not your father, he is pleased and proud of you.

i don't know how much you know or care about pokemon so feel free to ignore this but. i just got an excellent dc x pokemon au idea.
so in a version of the dc world where pokemon exist brucequest would go SO much differently. because if bruce is lost in the timestream, tim doesn't need to rely on anyone else to get him out of it once he has the proper evidence. he can just locate dialga or celebi. of course, "just locating" a legendary/mythical pokemon isn't a simple feat, especially since tim wouldn't want the ra's to get his hands on them. but it's tim, he'd be able to do it.
the league of assassin's whole eco terrorism thing is already like, textbook pokemon evil team. ra's has been around for so long it wouldn't surprise me if he'd already gotten his hands on a legendary before. he'd probably go for xerneas...
but i digress. imagine tim strolling back into gotham with a whole ass legendary pokemon and also not-dead batman. and a smoothie. "what do you have there?" dick would ask. "a smoothie."
I know nothing about Pokémon, but I am vibing with Tim's energy in this. I'm curious how crime fighting and crime would be affected by Pokémon, though.
I also don't mind people chatting about other fandoms or media in their AUs! It's cool to learn stuff ^^

When I was in veterinary school, there was one teacher in particular who I still remember with fondness. He had an extraordinarily strict teaching style, and was disliked by many of the students, because in his lessons on Pokemon biology, he had one strict rule:
If you, at any point, categorized Pokemon by type, you immediately failed his class.
One of the earliest lessons, that all should take to heart, is that Pokemon typings do not exist. They are a way of conveniently categorizing Pokemon by human standards and nothing more. For Trainers, they are a useful categorizing method that will quickly communicate a Pokemon's abilities and usually their weaknesses. For veterinarians, however, the idea is something that must be avoided at all costs.
Sometimes, people believe that typing is some sort of... natural law. A thing that is objectively true and measured. And as a result, there is often a similar belief that care can be simplified along similar lines- After all, a Panpour and a Goldeen are both Water-types, and thus, their needs must be similar, they reason. Ekans and Trubbish are both Poison-types, and thus can be handled the same way.
Instead of typing, Pokemon care is instead more broadly divided by body type and shape. Mammalian, reptilian, bipedal or quadrupedal, or the like. Then you address things such as flame sacs, water bladders, and the like, that Pokemon may have. Generally, a general veterinarian like myself has to simply memorize all the different types of Pokemon we are likely to encounter, and the individual needs and care for each species separately. It is a difficult task, and requires a great amount of study- I myself was considered extremely young for when I became a licensed veterinarian at twenty-two, and was able to obtain my license at a relatively young age because I studied instead of going on a Pokemon journey like many youths.
I digress.
Typing is not a perfect system, and I would advise everyone remember this. As new types are classified and recognized by Pokemon Leagues as valid classifications, Pokemon's typings are changed to match. It is not as though the Pokemon themselves are changing. Types are determined by nothing more than human observation and decisions, and professors and scholars debate the classifications.
Nature, and Pokemon, have no concept of types.

Hi Dad Realised that I don't have a support network anymore. I have one friend with whom we talk every day, but all the others are just vaguely present on the periphery. Some are in very stressful situations some just maybe don't care enough anymore. I have been having a bad time of it recently. A horrible time actually. In addition to my 5+ mental illnesses and 2(?) neurodivergences that are there in the background, I'm constantly overwhelmed. By sensory things but also by life and by there not being any single moment where I could be comfortable. It is awful every single day. Even on the days I consider good at least 3-4 hours are spent in the brain hole or in physical pain (cause guess what ofc I also have physical conditions). I feel if I were to do a blog about all the shit that is going on I would be bullied off of Tumblr for fakeclaming (which is a bulshit thing anyways but I digress) because I collect issues like they are pokemon. Heh. Never been into pokemon. Maybe if I were I would be better at this? - Sylvia
Hey kiddo, I'm so so sorry that sounds like a lot of things to deal with all at once and it sounds really stressful and overwhelming for you. If you ever need to talk I'm here for you. 🫂🫂

so i'm seeing today's the 15th anniversary of hgss' release and i have... complicated feelings on it.
first off, i did get them both day one and i have the statuettes of lugia and ho-oh to prove it. i adored gen 2 as a kid so i was excited to revisit johto. what details of it trickled through corocoro scans and serebii thrilled me, and when i heard the leaked rival battle theme on youtube i cried. it sounded amazing and i was really hyped.
and i did just about everything you could do in heartgold, including the events back in the day (spiky-eared pichu, celebi, sinjoh ruins with arceus), and really liked the team i made. and i've tried to replay soulsilver (keeping my original save on hg) a few times.
operative word being "tried".
there's a lot that hgss changed that just sour the experience for me. for one, the new neighbor kid (the character you didn't pick). they make the once-skippable capture tutorial mandatory, they show up intermittently and only for things that weren't wholly necessary, and the bit at the day care where you're a) forced inside and b) the day care lady (who is neighbor kid's grandma) thinks you and their grandchild are dating? weird. we're 10 what the hell, lady.
it seems like game freak tried to repeat what they did with dawn/lucas in dppt, but at least dawn/lucas actually have plot relevance. ethan/lyra do nothing. they feel incredibly shoehorned in and you can't not interact with them as they pop up.
speaking of things you can't skip, the sequence where you have to dress as a rocket grunt to enter goldenrod radio tower. it would've been cool... if silver didn't bust your disguise as soon as you enter and then just go through the tower as in gen 2. there was 0 point to that. it was just an unnecessary time waster and i don't know why they bothered.
yes, it's neat going through a region with abilities and the physical/special split and modern moves that didn't exist before. it does make for a new challenge. but new doesn't always equal cool.
and my god the localization is just awkward. for one, 90% of the script was just lifted from gsc, games with much smaller resolution and textboxes than on a ds. for two, the new stuff doesn't gel well with the old writing-wise. for three, i don't think they even credited the guy whose translations they used wholecloth throughout the game and practically carried the first four gens of english pokemon games on his back: nob ogasawara.
i also don't think they credit him in other remakes that use his translations either. oras, bdsp and pmddx are all remakes of games he translated solo. check the credits of those next time you play them.
like the least they could've done was a "based on the original translation by" line or something. i mean, he's the one who wrote iconic lines like "I like shorts! They're comfy and easy to wear!" that are referenced in the english games to this day.
but i digress. the games themselves may have added a ton of new postgame content that's neat, i have 0 desire to go through the main game to get there anymore. i'd rather just play gen 2.

Hello! Loved your interpretations on Leone kidnapping us, your highness. It’s like every time you write my day is a little brighter. As a person who suffers from mania I really feel for Leone. Idk if his mania is different than mine, but when fall it feels like you flew too close to the sun and are now plummeting into the sea. A real Icarus situation. Then there’s the grieving of how it used to be (during the mania). I suffer from bpd and that’s a big symptom of it (at least for me.) when you write Leone, a character I heavily relate to, I feel like I relate to him even more. Which definitely causes me to want to treat him the way I wish I was treated by being there for him. I think that’s why I like how you write him so much. It’s because he feels real.
It's a shame that most people don't really get it when it comes to personality disorders. It's always "ohh i want an obsessive partner" until they're mentally ill in unwanted ways.
Disorders are, naturally, human. They're a part of human behavior- naturally or unnaturally occurring, they're both just behaviors and symptoms and human things. I would consider it a failure on my end if I missed the mark on something so simple.
I feel like yandere content is always going to have heavy ties with disorders like bpd. The obsessive love, having a favorite one or in our case a darling, having intense "mood swings"- it's easy to see the similarities, and I think that's why so many people with bpd or other personality disorders choose to engage with yandere works.
It's relatable. It's comforting to think that someone loves exactly like you do, and that people want that. Turns out you're not too much, you've just got the wrong audience. That's what initially caught my interest with yandere works, I love in very "odd" ways. It's nice to think that somebody finds your nature attractive- You know that saying about how every pokemon is somebody out there's absolute favorite? Humans are like that too.
Unorthodox love is still love, and love is human. The fact that my Leone receives such attention and love is testament that such behavior is at least a liiittle attractive.
I'm not really sure how to explain how I view and write characters other than the fact that they are real to me. Sometimes my characters do things that I don't envision them doing, it forces me to look deeper into their psychology to find out why. I value them being accurate over my own preferences, so I've always found the common advice of "write whatever you wanna indulge in for yourself!" to be a bit unhelpful.
It's helpful when I obsess over a character and only want to think about them.... but that's private. What about for characters that I don't really care about? Why do I write for characters that I don't even like, when I entirely do not have to?
Well. They're somebody's favorite, and I want to be someone's favorite too. There's nothing quite like finding a piece of fiction that was exactly what you needed, not what you wanted.
My favorites are real to me. I have real feelings for them, I want them to be treated how they ought to be. Which is funny, I find amusement in writing Leone's misery, but shh that's off topic. It's a bit mentally ill of me, but I'm genuinely in love with my all time favorite characters, and it upsets me when people horribly misunderstand them.
I guess I just want to be nice to them. I'd want someone to write me accurately, so I may be loved accurately.
But I'm digressing a bit, and awfully exhausted, so that might not make a lot of sense. Thank you for the praise, anon, keep it coming.

hello.
would you mind talking about your pokemon? i am very interested as to what they are like. some of the pokemon that i live with are the same species as yours and i am curious as to how they are under the care of a trainer...
(@driflooningaway)
Oh, um... I'm not the best with words, but I don't mind. I'll... cut the post so it isn't too long.
Twig is my first Pokemon. I met her when I was little... she's rather loud for something so small, and she had a bit of a temper. She's incredibly insistant about my health... I'm worried she might be too small for her species, but the Pokemon Centers say she's healthy... I digress. I didn't mean to go on about my concerns...
Um, anyway... Lotus is much more anxious than the others. He has been since he was a Corsola. He gets incredibly restless being away from me... when he was a Corsola I would carry him in my arms similarly to how Twig stays in my hood, but as he's much larger now, I can't do that... so I typically keep him in his ball unless we're stationary… I worry for him as well. He struggles to interact with Pokemon that aren't on my team, as well as other people. He'll just stare blankly at them...
Nyx is a Banette. He's relatively quiet, actually... he was distressed when I found him, and I think a bit sick as well. Though, I've noticed he tends to have fits of inconsolable anger from time to time... the stories about Banette being abandoned dolls might be accurate. He's rather fond of bitter foods as well, though I'm not sure if that correlates to anything...
Ivy is very... friendly. She's energetic and hyperactive. I've seen her play with anything she can get her hands on, similarly to a child who doesn't have many toys and has to improvise. Even Gabriel seems to like her, which is an impressive feat. Though, I've been half trampled by the crowd of people in the Gym Challenge initiation because she ran off in Motostoke and I nearly lost her... she's quite a handful. I've heard Phantump are usually curious things, but... she takes a special kind of patience...
Gabriel is an Absol, and... he's had a bit of a rough life. People still believe Absols bring bad luck and disaster. So... I'm sure you can imagine how awful it was to be chased out of... pretty much anywhere. He was incredibly injured when I found him, and getting him to a Pokemon Center was a challenge. He's still incredibly skittish, though he seems to have warmed up to me since then. However... if you aren't careful with how you approach him, he might get aggressive on impulse... he means no harm, usually. I doubt this is normal behaviour for an Absol, but all I can do is treat him kindly. He may not ever fully trust me, but I understand.
As for Paisley... I'm... not sure where it came from. It showed up one day, and I assumed it was a wild pokemon or a stray that was strangely attached to me... but it's registered to me, so... It also has a stamp on the bottom of its kettle. I've left it alone, since I don't want to damage it... but it's very odd. Recently, its let me had a cup of the tea in its kettle. It was... oddly delicious, though I was sick with horrible chills and stomach pain shortly after. Paisley seemed to feel bad for me, so I doubt it was intentional. It's also a cheerier Pokemon, though I haven't seen other Polteageists around, so I wouldn't know if that's how they typically are.
Sorry if this wasn't very helpful. My status as a Trainer is... questionable at best. But, um, maybe this was of use to you.

The beauty of Pokémon Emerald teams
An analysis on why this son of a bitch has spent a year crying over Wallace and Juan (and Steven, but today the spotlight is not on you homeboy, it’s found family time).
Let’s start from the beginning. Masuda hunts can take quite a toll on one’s mind, especially when you’re hatching the millionth Beldum and your only company is your overanalyzing brain and a knowledge of Hoenn games so profound it’s quite concerning.
So today, after spending a concerning amount of time analyzing every pixel basically of Wallace’s team, I decided it was time to move onto Juan’s.
Now, first things first. We know (and it’s obvious) that the trainer’s aces represent AT LEAST IN SOME WAY the trainer themselves (even just for the whole “a dog and their owner are shaped the same” saying).
Now.
This is Wallace’s gym team
Tumblr media
This is Juan’s
Tumblr media
That’s... interesting.
“But Mike, they have the same role, OF COURSE their teams are similar” I hear you saying, and well. Yes
And no
You see, it’s stated in the game that Wallace has been Juan’s pupil. It’s stated a lot of times, actually.
“Ah, I should not be so coy. It was I who taught Wallace everything there is to know about Pokémon.” Juan says at the start of the battle.
“However, compared with me or even Wallace, you are lacking in elegance“ he says when you defeat him.
“Our battle together — it brought to me memories of when I first encountered Wallace. Perhaps you are a genius who may yet surpass Wallace!" he says upon calling him.
This man clearly cares for Wallace, he’s his apprentice, after all. His heir, if you will.
“I've entrusted my mentor Juan with the Gym's operation.“ Wallace tells you inside the Cave of Origin.
“I'm sure that you will be dazzled by my mentor's breathtakingly elegant battle style.” he tells you before allowing your poor poor team to become treats for that Kingdra.
He deeply respects Juan. It’s heartwarming. He’s so excited at the prospect of you battling his master. In the manga he gives Ruby and Sapphire to Juan’s keeping while he and the other gym leaders (beside Tate and Liza).
Let’s get back to their teams. Again, it’s pretty weird that the teams from two different PEOPLE from two different GAMES have such similar teams (if you observe only two Pokémon change), while EVERYONE ELSE pretty much either gets a new pokemon or almost completely changes team.
And yet, they share a Luvdisc, a Whiscash and a Sealeo. We can’t even think it was a change made to remind people of Wallace’s team, because again hell even Wattson gets a completely different team (granted they finally gave him a Manectric, but I digress).
We can safely assume that, instead of Juan’s team resembling Wallace’s, Wallace’s team resembles Juan’s. After all, he’s his master, it makes sense for Wallace to take inspiration. Juan taught him the importance and the art of becoming strong with a balanced team, and Wallace treasured that both in Ruby & Sapphire and in Emerald.
Tumblr media
Two strong physical attackers in Whiscash and Gyarados as well as strong and fast special attackers in Tentacruel, Ludicolo and Milotic.
Let’s now move onto their aces. Yeah Milotic is graceful beautiful literally Wallace if he was a Pokémon we get it. But he’s also a strong special attacker. So yeah, it is safe to say that his team is, though pretty balanced, a little more special attack oriented.
Kingdra, however
Tumblr media
Perfectly balanced.
Juan’s team is not oriented in either physical or special attack. Wallace represent special attack and therefore grace, Steven represent physical attack and therefore brute force, the two sides of championship, both are champions because both found a way to be strong with the team they felt most comfortable using. There is strength in brute force, there is strength in elegance, but mostly there is strength in balance.
Juan is balance, versatility, it is expected from a veteran trainer like him, he has fought so many battles and has refined his strategy throughout the years, just like a Crawdaunt, who proudly shows their heavily scarred pincers, he shows the results of years upon years of battling.
Kingdra barely has weak points (only dragon back in the days), resists both physical and special attacks equally, the only ace from a previous generation, symbolizing maturity, experience, a life long partner partner, not relying on incredibly high base stats (Metagross and their pseudo legendary state) and not being incredibly weak to something (Milotic and their lack of physical bulk).  It’s the perfect way of showing that yes, the champions may be strong, but they’re both still young (with Steven being 25 and Wallace probably being more or less the same age), they still have a lot to learn (both of them lacked the ability to stop the crisis), they have yet to reach maturity.
And NOW we're getting into the juicy saucy stuff.
Not only the ace represents their trainer, the WHOLE TEAM represents their trainer in a way (at least in this generation). Brawly is tenacious like his Makuhita but also appears to be undertaking very tiring trainings like his Meditite, Tate and Liza share psychic powers with all their Pokémons, so on and so forth.  Dear Juan, as said, is similar to a Crawdaunt in the fact that he’s learned from his past battles and now has a more refined technique (”scars” if you will), and just like Kingdra, he “reawakened” when the storm arrived by taking Wallace’s place as Sootopolis’s gym leader during the crisis.
Wallace instead, while being pretty much the human version of a Milotic, beautiful, gentle, soothing conflicts (in the Emerald manga he’s shown breaking up a fight between Ruby and Sapphire), and he’s protective, just like Seaking. In the manga he never hesitates to protect his loved ones, may it be Elizabeth, Ruby, Steven, Winona. The man never spares himself from putting his own life on the line just for the well being of others.
Just like male Seakings do with their nests.
The latest anime season made it even better by giving him a Swampert instead of a Whiscash, a much more fitting choice in my opinion, since Swampert too is protective of their nest, not territorial like Whiscash, but rather protective. Just like Wallace.
Of course, manga Wallace is known for having a Luvdisc as his main mon (he literally treats that fish like she was his own daughter), the meaning is clear: Luvdisc represents love, may it be friendship, familiar, romantic, and manga Wallace loves and cares for a lot of people. He took Ruby under his wing, he loved and still cares for Winona, despite their less then pleasant history.
Did I just wrote a full character analysis just to prove that Wallace and Juan deeply care for each other? Maybe Am I done? Absolutely not. Replaying Emerald, I noticed that their pre fight sentence is... surprisingly similar
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(ignore the poor quality of the second one, please, that’s the best screenshot I could get) Of course, this could be just an example of Wallace mimicking Juan’s way of talking after spending presumably a lot of time together, but after realizing these two actually talk very differently from one another, God. It looks like a little boy imitating his father. And I’ve got zero intention of diving into their third generation color palettes, they’re the exact same, theirs is implied to be such a disgustingly sweet and loving relationship I’m actually wondering why I’m seeing very few people picturing them as a father figure and his son.

Tales of Origin, Mewtwo
To whoever finds this letter. I write these words not as an apology, but so that I may never forget what we, humanity has done in the name of progress. If you think you can’t handle staring into the abyss of human greed, don’t read any further.
I should have known that this project was screwed up from the beginning. The amount of funding and quality of equipment was beyond suspicious for a small team trying to research a long extinct Pokemon. No one pays a bunch of Paleontologists that well without ulterior motives. Yet when your a young Collage graduate, being offered a job at the pay level of a senior researcher you don’t just decline.
Log entry xx1: Nothing we tried so far is working. The fossils are just to fragmented, we will never be able to reconstruct the genome at this rate. Darn it all! This is my only chance, my only chance to see her again.
Well, things got even more suspicious when I learned that the team had actual knowledge of a living specimen of the Pokemon we were supposed to research. I mean why spend billions of Poké-dollars on DNA splicers and gene sequencing, in order to reconstruct the genome from fossil records if a living one is out there still. And don’t get me started on the cloning equipment.
Yet, whenever I asked, I was told not to worry about it and that the goal of our research was to maybe repopulate this species as only this one seemed to have remained and we couldn’t risk loosing this last specimen while trying to get the DNA needed. Turned out that was a bigger lie then when my teacher in school tired to convince us that Mega Stones had come from outer space, but I digress.
Log entry: xx3: Mew gave birth, we named the offspring Mewtwo. I was quite surprised when these Rocket guys managed to catch Mew in the wild and even more so when it turned out that it was pregnant. I would almost call it a turn of fate. A Mew embryo is all we could ever need, finally Team Rocket can have it’s biological weapon and I’m one step closer to bringing her back.
When I found out that they had actually captured Mew and experimented on it while it was pregnant I was furious, but the others didn’t seem to see any problem with it. They had simply discarded the Mew after they were done leaving it heavily injured. They never cared for it, they only wanted it’s DNA, getting an Embryo was like hitting the jackpot for them.
I recovered the Mew and nursed it back to health in secret, but it wasn’t looking to good. Obviously I didn’t want to take it to a Pokemon center, there was no telling what could happen if they discovered me. So I went out and hunted for Pokemon that knew healing moves and told my colleges that it was just my new hobby so they didn’t pry. I can only pray to Gaia that this works, I can’t let them get away with this, I will put an end to this madness. But I’ll need Mews help for that.
Log Entry xx5: Everything is going fine so far. Mewtwo is growing well, we haven’t run into any of the complications we had with the previous attempts. I’m starting to think we might really do it this time. Giovanni was beyond pleased as well, he even provided us with more funding. We can do this!
Log Entry xx6: Some of the researchers are growing suspicious. I might have to cut them loose, I won’t let them ruin this. Were already in to deep, I won’t back out now. This Mewtwo will grow, I will perfect the cloning technology. Then I will get her back. No one will stop me!
Dr. Fuji is seriously off the deep end, sometimes I think at this point he might be more dangerous than the Team Rocket guys backing him. He has locked out most of the researches, works almost on his own most of the time. I don’t think he cares much for this Mewtwo they’re creating, he has other stakes in this. And I’m somewhat scared to find out what they are.
Mew is recovering well. Tomorrow we plan to attack the research center and put an end to this project. Mew also wants to free it’s child. I trained up many strong Pokemon these last few months. Between my new team and Mew, Fuji and his team don’t stand a chance of stopping us. I can only hope we’ll be able to hide from team Rocket afterwords, they won’t be trilled at us stealing their “new weapon”, but I’m tired of just being a bystander.
I don’t plan to return here after words, so I’ll leave this letter behind. If you read this far, wish us luck. We’re probably going to need it.
Log Entry x10: It’s over. I failed. … A researcher secretly saved Mew and somehow trained up a Champion level Pokemon team. He stormed the facility yesterday with Mew and they destroyed everything in their path. The fossils, the cloning lab, all the collected data …, even Mewtwo, they’re all gone.
The other scientist all quit after that, I’m all alone now. Giovanni is furious at the loss of his weapon, but I honestly couldn’t care less. I never intended for the project to turn out like this, all I wanted was to research cloning technology, to find a way to bring back Amber. But I failed even that and now she’s really gone for good.
I wish I could have seen what this one researcher saw, then maybe all this tragedy could have been prevented. … Now I can only hope that he and Mew are safe out there. In the end, my wife was right. I really am a horrible person. Signed Dr. Fuji.

Index (Tales of Origin)
Well, the Tales of Origin page I worked on last week was a dead end. So instead I decided to write my take on the creation of Mewtwo and tell how this Pokemon came to be in the Universe of Ages of Ruin.
This time i also chose to write in the first person as opposed to the third person view I usually use for my other updates. I'll probably continue to experiment like that in future updates for Tales of Origin, so I hope you liked it.

Was thinking about flower symbolism for the project and went down this tangent. So, I have clovers for May since she relies on luck very heavily. I've said it before but her battle style is "I'm here to make shit happen and take it from there". Which is not only interesting since she learned from Ash and likely took a lot of this from his aggressive battle style, which is very moment-by-moment and quick on his feet, very improvised yet strategic (she took it up a level on the improv, I'd argue), but in contrast with Drew as a character- very oriented as someone who likes to be in full control- it's fascinating. More under cut, analysing Drew yet again, not my fault he's the most interesting and emotionally complex (in canon- the fanon character emotion stuff is usually hella good and complex) pokemon character we've had since Team Rocket imo and until maybe Gladion or Lillie, who has a LOT under the surface (Dawn was fascinating too)-will go over that during a sun moon replay or watch, though. On to the rambling.
So, Drew is almost the opposite from May in the 'leave it to luck' regard. I have yet to analyse his battle style since I'm usually distracted by the fact that his roselia flies and is three times bigger than it should be, but as a character, he does NOT vibe with improv and not having a plan. Hell, he specifically raised Flygon for his battle with her. This has all been said before by various people who are better at words than I am but here I go anyways, because I feel like it. Spontaneous combusken illustrates this well, which I'll get into next- he likes having control over a situation. And LET IT BE KNOWN I DO NOT SAY CONTROLLING IN A TOXIC WAY. AT ALL. Just in a 'this guy overthinks what he wants for breakfast and hates uncertainty and will do damn near anything to not deal with uncertainty' way.
He likes having the ability to know what is going to happen next and he likes being in a position where he can route a conversation to his favor. This is why May is such an easy target for him early on- if he wants control of a situation, all he has to do is make a snide remark and May falls into place, taking the bait, giving him that control. This lessens over time as he grows to respect her, but yeah.
I think this is the reason I LOVE that one scene in spontaneous combusken (god bless that episode), where May brings Brianna over. He loses control of that situation, and gets flustered when Roselia teases him. She initiates and Drew is basically at her mercy. So, what does he do? He walks out and avoids the situation entirely, which Max immediately calls him out on, calling him a weenie. (Why were Ash, Max, and Brock just watching from a random ass balcony though???? Didn't think any of them were particularly invested in contestshipping, but I digress.)
Late AG is so interesting with this because May stops taking his bullshit seriously and starts taking it like friendly banter to an extent. Plus, he majorly tones it down. Once she does this, it leaves Drew with... not much in terms of controlling a situation. Granted, by that point he seems to not really care as much but there was a brief period where the dynamic had a full shift- Drew was the one getting blushy and outwardly emotional about stuff, much as he tries to keep that in a nice little box. Mostly seen in that absol scene where he just loses that composure but I'm honestly still kind of figuring that out. I think something got lost in the translation to the english dub because it's never made much sense to me. Will figure it out later. If anyone wants my opinion on that lmk and I'll see what I can do after a rewatch.
I really have no way of ending this since it's just stream of consciousness that may as well have been made with speech to text with no editing, but yeah.

SOOOOO i blocked my sister
Youre entitled to not like family after theyve done shit things.
Yes, my sister was a great resource when i was i my preteens letting me live with her during the summer, and for getting on my brothers for their behavior when i was in my early early teens but by that point it was kinda far too late
The thing that did it was on Thanksgiving last year she came with a woman weve never met before thats shes only known for 4 months saying theyre getting married in 2 weeks and moving to texas immediately after.
Our brother and his partner brought them out to lunch and tried to say hey we think youre going kinda fast you should take more time to get to know each other etc. They flat out told him theyre not invited to the wedding. Then when she gets home after that, she comes downstairs to find me and tells me theyre getting married, and she leans in and whispers "you're inviiiiteeeed~"
Shes in her early 30's
The thing is our MOM couldnt even attend because it was such short notice. And the marriage place couldnt get the shitty zoom stream to work. Our mom had to watch a recording of the service.
I looked out the deck window and saw her lying on her back on the porch watching the video and I knew her heart was broken.
Like. Christ im gonna put it all out there
I could tell stories of how my sister used to make me cry as a child, too. And where our parents failed to parent and the eldest should have taken the place of responsibility and etc she didnt give a fuck and YES a child should never have to act a parent role thats shitty but she was 15+ yrs old she shoulda fucking known better. (I have literally my entire family to blame for almost all of my issues, But still. During my crucial years i really do feel she did not care, and it didn't help that between me and her we have 3 THREE brothers who (one of which legitimately hated me ) too)) I DIGRESS
She let our childhood home turn into a jungle because she was too busy sitting in sweatpants smoking pot and drinking starbucks and begging our mom for more money to be put on her account,
(its all torn down, now too.)
We havent spoken very much,
Mostly just snapchats here and there
And a few days ago she sent me a chat on here saying shes revamping her account and wants to be active on here, so i blocked her.
Not only because i want tumblr to be an escape from personal real life shit but because i don't really wanna communicate or be reminded of her selfish dumb behavior.
Shes extremely hard to communicate with in person, too. Literally! I feel like im crazy trying to explain it. Shes so slow... it feels like trying to have a convo with her sometimes it feels like shes unintentionally gaslighting you. I know that sounds dumb but im fuckin serious.
She was so helpless when we helped her move, too. Pacing back and forth and fretting over all her shit (we're a packrat family yeah but holy fuck shes gonna end up being a fuckin hoarder) and me and our mom were just lifting stuff and carrying it out like :/
Sheesh
I don't hate her or wish her or her wife any ill will, its just. Fuck man. Walk in, break our moms heart (as if it isnt already broken after all the shit weve been thru as a family...) and act like everythings fine and perfect.
Also I literally witnessed my sister do/say this to her wife
"Hey, -blank-, come fight this pokemon go tournament for me."
Like
?!?!?!??!?
She was like "okay :D" but still thats so fucking bizarre

I was literally going to say that the Hoenn dex in oras dex doesn't involve the evos for Roselia and Magneton, but they do. The Magneton I can excuse cause even by itself, it's a pretty powerful Pokemon ( though this is the third rival in a row to have a goddamn magneton), but Roselia?
I need to see Wally's dialogue to see if where he is at as a character matches his team but come on man. Give him the win ( I mean they did with Gallade, but I digress)
And I know I shouldn't be nit-picky, he is trying his best and I love him for that and that it's a pokemon game so who cares. I just think Wally deserves a better main game final team.

If you've ever taken the compliment 'aw, never change!' very literally. You're not alone. Amity's Dusclops, Lamentation, has been fighting against their body, trying to evolve for at least ten levels now out of personal fear (ironic for a Ghost Type, but I digress)
Amity, frankly, cares neither way if Lamentation ever evolves or doesn't. They're still her rascally little Duskull in her eyes and precious to her; nothing could ever change that - not evolution, sickness, or character growth. She can and HAS tailored team builds to suit them in particular. There's a team devoted to them as the star. See- Amity's more in the 'you'll get better results if you work with your Pokemon to their individual strengths, not make them work to your plan' mentality.
But for whatever reason, despite knowing Amity well and being one of her primaries for years, Lamentation doesn't feel that same way—Lamentation fears evolution and, more accurately, fears changing but not improving and thereby disappointing Amity and his friends. The bar in his own mind is set so high he could never even begin to touch it, so he doesn't evolve and chooses to stay the same.
(Amity has noticed them evolving but biding to stop it and focus on remaining the same. It does worry her, and she's consulted with the local professors. At most, she can take away any Reaper Cloths in the area, but she can't make the choice for Lamentation, even if it makes her worry about his health)

🙈 SEE-NO-EVIL - whats a side of your oc that they don't want to show other people?🙊 SPEAK-NO-EVIL - what is something your oc will refuse to stay quiet about?🙉 HEAR-NO-EVIL - what is the worse thing your oc could hear from someone?
Three in one here! Didn't feel like separating :)
((*Pushes Vic aside as he's about to say something* THIS ONE'S ALL MINE!
OOC FROM HERE ON OUT:
SEE NO EVIL: Anger. He's not a subtle being when it comes to anger, he gets mad. And not just verbally, physically. He doesn't admit it, nor likes to acknowledge it, but during his gym challenges he has nearly gotten physical with trainers. He especially gets aggressive when someone goads over him about winning. There were a lot of trainers in Kalos that definitely had an air about them he didn't like. (Mostly Flare grunts, as they were JUST starting to pop up). But I digress. He doesn't like to get angry, he doesn't want others to see him get angry, and he doesn't want to remember that he's gotten angry. I'd like to say that he's mellowed, but really? He's just gotten better at suppressing his anger, gotten less impulsive. He'll still be able to be pushed to the edge, but it won't be pretty.
SPEAK NO EVIL: Care of Pokemon. He deeply loves his pokemon, maybe even more than himself. If someone scoffs at him for any reason about how he's improperly treating his pokemon, he will chew them out. He will also advocate for Pokemon no matter what. He can't possibly fathom seeing them hurt. It's how he's gained a lot of Pokemon, from taking them in and caring for them. Hell, Dyre was his first pokemon, who he found injured and took in. He loves his mons, enough to even let a few go.
HEAR NO EVIL: "Shut Up", or "No-One Cares/Asked You". Those are the two(three?) big things that will make him stop dead in his tracks. Especially if it's someone he loves/cares for. He's had trouble with friends in Hoenn, his main one being Lux. If he tried to make friends, people would just use him, never actually caring for what he had to say. It makes him hesitant to reach out and meet new people. Sure, Curt was different, but sometimes you just meet people and it feels like you've known them forever. Anyway, as mentioned earlier he loves to talk, and gets carried away. Sometimes this has lead to being tuned out or just flat out telling him to stop. He'd prefer someone try to carefully slow him down, or let him know he's going many miles a minute, than being harsh.
