Hello!

Welcome to the Problematic MCU Ship Tournament!

This blog will pit 64 different pairings against one another. All of them are in some way “problematic”- some feature a minor and an adult, others feature incestuous pairings, others still simply have questionable or potentially abusive dynamics. Many ships combine elements of more than one.

Each day, 4 polls will be posted pitting two different ships together (for a total of 8 ships per day). You are free to vote in as many or as few of these polls as you’d like.

This blog is explicitly pro-ship and anti-censorship, and obviously features dark themes. If this is a point of discomfort for you, you are free to block this blog, I don’t bite. Hate towards anyone (and anything unreasonably rude about ships or characters) will not be published and users that send it will be blocked. Nothing explicit will be posted to this blog, regardless of the ship, so minors are free to interact if they so wish.

The bracket below shows all the ships that will be posted, as well as their first opponent. After the first round has been completed, the diagram will be updated and all of the winning ships will be pitted against one another. You can also find a typed list of all ships under the cut, for users that can’t or don’t want to read my terrible handwriting.

I'm looking for some Marvel/Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) roleplays.

21+. She/Her. EST (GMT-5). I like to write on Discord or through Tumblr messages. I like to stick to Tumblr for plotting. I write in third person, past tense and around 2-4 paragraphs. I can't guarantee daily replies, but I do try to get them out as soon as I can, which is usually within 2-3 days. I like communicative writing partners who can generally match that reply time.

"I'm so sorry! I was just trying out my powers on the room," I said walking towards her.

"She set off a full blast," Bucky explained, coming up behind me.

"We're supposed to calibrate the sensors to your powers," Pepper said exasperatedly. "We've already calibrated to mine and Rhodey's suits, and Thor's and Carol's power. Maria said this in the briefing."

"I forgot," I said sheepishly, smiling my sweetest at Pepper and hearing Bucky snigger.

"Clearly." Pepper sounded angry, but her eyes gave away her amusement. "Good to know the building is still standing though. We have to reset the system, but we can get your calibration out of the way after lunch."

"I was planning on going shopping for this stupid Secret Santa thing now anyway."

Pepper nodded and hurried off.

I turned to Bucky. "I'd ask if you wanted to come along, but what if I have you and or you have me."

"Who knows?" he said and shrugged, a small smile crossing his lips.

"See you later?"

I write on Discord (through DMs or servers) or through Tumblr messages. I write in third person, past tense and usually around 2-4 paragraphs. Sometimes more. Hardly ever less. I can't reply every day because I work full-time during the week. I try not to make anyone wait longer than 3-5 days and will let you know if it might be longer than usual.

Canon x canon pairings (MxM, FxF, or MxF) are my favorite. I'm okay with doing some canon x OC ones (MxM or FxF only). I like my threads to be set within the universe so no AUs that are way off the beaten path. I do prefer writing romantic ships with NSFW/smut involved but also with a very healthy dose of plot. Interesting choice. I like Carol, but I know very little about her. I'll probably go with MCU Carol (though when I write I tend to bleed comics and Marvel movies/TV series together).

How I feel about this character Generally, I like her. I haven't been given much of a reason, esp in the MCU, to not like her. What I've seen of her in the comics, I like her, and she mostly seems to work well with all the teams (Avengers, X-Men, etc). I think she's snarky and powerful and funny and caring, so that puts her on a "Definitely like this one" list. All the people I ship romantically with this character Valkyrie (Brunnhilde), Rhodey, Thor (maybe - I haven't entirely decided yet), and Maria Rambeau. So far, if I was going to write her much and ship her with anyone, it'd be three of the four up there for sure. In fact, to be fair, I've made a reference to her with Brunnhilde in a Pride collabfic I'm writing with @scottxlogan. My non-romantic OTP for this character Thor, for sure. Definitely Thor. Also probably Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, and Scott Summers. My unpopular opinion about this character I don't think I have an unpopular opinion about Carol. I don't have a ton of opinions about her, so I don't think any of them are unpopular. One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

More interaction with Tony Stark - esp in the movie.

What I'm Looking For: 21+ writing partners for some Marvel/Marvel Cinematic Universe roleplays.

About Me: 21+. She/Her. EST. I like to write on Discord (DMs or servers) or through Tumblr messages. I stick to Tumblr for plotting and won't give out my Discord until I know we'll be doing something together. I write in third person, past tense and usually 2-4 paragraphs. Replies typically happen within 2-4 days, depending on how much work is killing me any given week.

About the Roleplays: I'm mostly interested in canon x canon pairings (MxM, MxF, FxF is my order of preference) but will take on a limited amount of canon x OC (I only do MxM or FxF for those). I lean towards romantic pairings and am fine with writing NSFW topics and/or smut. I'm okay with fading to black or keeping things clean and might be okay with some platonic pairings.
