So she got her gentle side from her dad, and her sharper side from her mom, mystery solved.

"Thank you. It's nice to meet you too sir, ma'am." This was going well so far, better then you expected in fact. At least it was until you saw the look Cassandra was giving you, her lips pressed in a thin line and posture completely straight, an air of authority around her that you could not ignore. "I've... been seeing your daughter for a few months now and I really care about her. She's a wonderful woman who in just these few months managed to make my life so much better."

"I'm sorry if I left a bad first impression on you but, I really do care about her, she's not just someone that... fool around with." And the embarrassment was back just like that, for both of you this time, but Cassandra listened patiently.

After waiting for a few seconds she looked down at your joined hands, then at that of her and Tobias, "As my husband said, Caitlyn has told us a lot about you already. Though I did find you running... in a state of undress quite over the top. Please never do so again, it was embarrassing to watch." Yeah and how does she think you felt? "I know I may be strict but this family, Caitlyn, is my whole world. There are no length to which Tobias and I wouldn't go for her."

"I want to make her happy, please." You tightened your grip on Caitlyn's hand, just a little but enough for the motion to be visible.

"You already do." Caitlyn rewarded you with yet another kiss on the cheek, not at all ashamed to do it in front of her parents.

Cassandra hummed, caught off guard when Tobias did the same to her, "Darling, please." The older woman couldn't help but smile at her husband, who had the biggest grin on his face, "I'm glad you came to talk to me, I'm sure that took guts on your part as well. As long as you're keeping Caitlyn happy I can't oppose your relationship. You have our blessing."

A comfortable beat of silence followed as you looked at Caitlyn, barely resisting the urge to grab her and kiss her.

"So when are you gonna have some kids?" The question gave you whiplash so hard that you almost lost your head when you looked at Caitlyn's dad.
