I have begun testing a new approach to the Splicing Sickness problem. ADAM remembers, you see. The method uses the ADAM's own "recall" of past cell configurations to revert each of the patient's genetic changes -- with one final dose, we return the patient to his former self! It is only theory: the number of potential bonding sites for even a single test is innumerable, and I cannot calculate alone. But I have heard of an adding machine at the heart of the city, beyond the capability of any device the world has known. Perhaps
if I could harness its power

You can generate SierpiƄski carpet (the 2D analog of Menger sponge) at home! I started with addition modulo 3 and some conditional formatting in Excel.
Tumblr media
I left the modulus configurable. Powers of 2 produce simple tessellations instead of fractals, so the first viable fractal is A1=3. Here’s the modulus 3 image at 729x729 resolution:
Tumblr media
This is the standard sierpinski carpet. But starting with modulus 5, higher primes are going to give us some trippy Menger-analogs with intricate self-similar geometry. Let’s dive in:
Tumblr media
Modulus 5
Tumblr media
Modulus 7
Tumblr media
Not all composite numbers are duds! Mod 9 is beautiful with its single order 3 subgroup.
Tumblr media
But Mod 15 is not so much a fractal as a self-similar glitch. The subgroups of order 3 and 5 are all jumbled together!
Tumblr media
Modulus 17
Tumblr media
Modulus 19
Tumblr media
Modulus 23
Tumblr media
Modulus 29 with 707281 cells. (That’s 29 to the fourth power!) And that’s the limit, because Excel is running garbage collection nonstop trying to compute any more of the image. Excel 2010 was limited to 2GB of ram and we are out. I call this collection of renders “seafloor”.

After turning your new doll's winding key, you pulled it out and were surprised to find a usb-c port! It turns out that the doll had been refitted to run on electricity years ago, and its key is now a rechargeable power bank. The key still turns and clicks, but that's just for the doll's own comfort now. After opening up this strange winding key power supply, finding the charging port and looking at how the cells are configured, a voice shakes you from your curiosity.
"Miss, if you're done inspecting its key, could you please but it back? This one only has 10 minutes of battery life left."

I was so disappointed when I saw the interior of this caboose conversion in Phillips, ME. They did an unimaginative job, but I think that a new owner could redo it and make it look adorable. It's listed as 1bd, 1ba, 360sqft, and the price is right - $129k.
Tumblr media
On this side, enter the kitchen.
Tumblr media
The unit next to the stove is a heater. I don't see another one, so I wonder if it takes care of the whole space.
Tumblr media
The kitchen fits a table and apt. size appliances.
Tumblr media
From here, it looks pretty long. All the furniture conveys, but I don't think I'd keep it.
Tumblr media
Next, there's this area. I love that it's original, although I'm not sure what it is. There are steps and seats above.
Tumblr media
Looks like maybe storage lockers underneath. It comes with the railroad memorabilia, too.
Tumblr media
Looking out the window.
Tumblr media
3 single beds. I wonder if a Murphy bed would fit here, or maybe a trundle bed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's a shower on the left, behind the curtain.
Tumblr media
The door next to the shower opens to a tiny sink and a toilet.
Tumblr media
Kind of looks like prison cell bedding.
Tumblr media
There isn't much room for a sitting area with the 3rd bed there. It looks like the couch is a pull-out bed, too.
Tumblr media
The middle area with the raised seats and shower take up space. There has to be a different way to configure it.
Tumblr media
I wouldn't want to eliminate that unit w/the storage and elevated seating, though.
Tumblr media
The entrance on the living/bedroom side.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And, the entrance to the kitchen side.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The shed looks like it was a railroad building, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here it is in action.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1 acre lot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It even comes with a letter with a little history.

Devices: Cellphones
Ever curious what everyone's phones look like in-game? Then this post is for you! I grabbed shots of the cell phones shown for the protaganist as well as the Central Characters (Rafayel, Sylus, Xavier, Zayne) and mention any interesting details I found.
Protaganist:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The protaganist cell phone actually gets a surprising amount of screen time in-game. Here are some things that stood out to me:
No front facing camera? Lol how old is this phone??
Rafayel:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's the only one who appears to have two different phone. So he either just has two for some reason or got a new one at some point? But you can tell they're definitely not the same phone because the camera configuration is totally different.
Both unidentified brand/model
The phone depicted on the right appears to be the same model as Xavier's? (Singular camera with a blue "dash" object beneath it)
The phone case on the left looks very similar to the Louis Vuitton Monogram phone case shown below. Couldn't find one in the exact color shown, but I'm sure Raf could pull strings to get a special on made just for him lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sylus:
Tumblr media
His cellphone has a very interesting shape, deviating from a standard rectangle with sharp angles. And no case? Bro is brave lol.
Confirmed forward facing camera lol
Unidentified brand/model
Xavier:
Tumblr media
Xavier went for the clean, minimalist look lol.
Again, unidentified model/branding
Rafayel is also depicted with a phone of this model (Singular camera with a blue "dash" object beneath it)
Zayne:
Tumblr media
Zayne's cellphone adds another unidentified but distinct model to the list. The camera configuration doesn't match any of the other character's phones.

Voltaire's Prayer
“I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: Oh Lord, make my enemies ridiculous. And God granted it." -Volaire’s letter to Étienne NoĂ«l Damilaville, 16 May 1767
I’m inordinately fond of sex, in the political sense.  It’s saved us so often from the worst parts of ourselves.
As far as anti-authoritarian elements of the human experience go, sex is right up there with curiosity and the search for truth- maybe even more so.  When a new tyrant comes to town, shutting down the universities and the libraries is only the second thing they try.  The first thing is to regulate human sexuality to within an inch of its life.  Rules for marriage, rules for courtship, rules for which genitals may touch and where they may touch and when they may touch.  Rules for who and rules for whom.  Rules for which kinds of sex must doom characters in literature, rules for which things may be described as sexy, rules for which things may be described in a sexy way.
Of course they do!  If you’re trying to bind a large polity together under a common ideological narrative, to render people predictable enough to quash dissent and legible enough to exert power through them, the last thing you need is a bunch of folks running around being horny about stuff without permission.  Nature gifted us with a great capacity for reason and community; we have the innate opportunity to learn about ourselves and our neighbors, and to form complex societies based on that understanding.  It was Aristotle who first called us the political animal, and the fruits of that extraordinary capacity will always be within our reach, if only we can come together within a shared understanding.  The invention of the city is the great triumph of our species, and with it we conquer the universe.
But also this extraordinary, reasoning mind has been sculpted from the raw clay of a biology that’s anchored in sexual reproduction, and this ends up being very, very funny.
The problem isn’t so much that the sex instinct exists, per se.  It’s how it’s implemented.  Like most biological forms, the full complement of 86 billion(!) neurons in your brain aren’t encoded in a particular configuration; the brain is much too complex to be described so precisely in the only ~725 megabytes or so of human DNA.  The particular shape of your brain is in there somewhere- the lobes and subregions responsible for vision, memory, cognition, all that- but only up to a point.  The genius and fundamental limitation of genetics is that, below a certain level, the genes instead describe a process for the production and reproduction of specialized cells, and simply constructs them in such a way that they can be relied upon to order themselves as they go.
This is all well and good when we’re talking about kidneys and livers, but the fact that you can encode any kind of specific behavioral instinct in a brain this way is nothing short of a minor miracle.  Think about it!  Spiders don’t have a ‘spider web’ gene, the gene is for ‘proteins that come together in self-assembling electrochemically sensitive gelatin tissue which, when complete, encodes patterns that operate organ systems such as legs and spinnerets in such a way as to reliably create silk webs.’  This is absurdly impressive, and also completely insane.
What I’m getting at is, powerful behavioral instincts in a complex animal aren’t precise instruction manuals by which we pursue evolutionarily advantageous behaviors.  Sex and eros are prior to logic or language, let alone strategy.  Sex is a double-thick electrical wire discharging lightning bolts right through the middle of our cognitive centers, installed in the brain by a surgeon wearing mittens.  It’s an untethered firehose whipping chaotically through the cathedral, unpredictably spraying golden reliquaries with substances unmentionable.  It’s the first and greatest anarchist.
I really can’t overstate my gratitude for this.
Obviously this results in any number of deeply goofy outcomes by way of kinks and odd sexual practices- it gets tangled with pain centers, with random bits of anatomy and proprioception, with our taboos and aversions, with our greatest terrors or our greatest yearnings or just arbitrary stimuli from adolescence, and of course it gets enmeshed so often with our notions of power and submission.  It imbues these things with a fascination and potency out of all proportion with their mundane meanings.  And ultimately, you end up with human pleasures and human values that diverge so far from banal evolutionary imperatives as to be all but unrecognizable.
Even when this process somehow manages to propagate through the brain in such a way as to drive behaviors that are legibly aligned towards some adaptive constraint- e.g. heterosexual mating practices resulting in biological reproduction and careful childrearing- it’s still madness.  Love and sex penetrate deeply across tribal and national and racial boundaries, across economic interests, across battle-lines and enmities.  We become traitors, apostates, emigrants, and artists.  Declare a law, and in short order some hot-headed young people come along to break it in the name of sexual passions you could not possibly have seen coming.  Divide your neighborhood into us and them, and by the time the ink is dry on your proclamation there will be a forbidden relationship across the fence.  There is no social order, no ethical system, no theory of human nature that can entirely withstand contact with the full spectrum of human sexuality, because sex and eros are always going to be exactly as bonkers as the complexity of the human mind and culture will allow, plus a little extra just to be sure.
This isn’t always a delight, of course.  Many prohibitions exist for a very good reason, and the chaos of human sexuality makes no exemptions for true evil.  Some of us end up really, truly victims of this process.  But for all the dangers, the chaos at the root of all this isn’t oriented towards evil.  Chaos just means chaos, essentially arbitrary and hence absurd in character.
And in the grand analysis, we are so lucky to have this thing moving through our communities, this ridiculous madness that guarantees that there will be cracks in every wall and slips exploding cigars in the pockets of the powerful few.  Not in everybody as individuals, of course, and not everybody the same amount; asexuality is certainly one of the outcomes that all this mad gallivanting through our brains can produce.  Sexuality would never be so predictable as to guarantee its own existence, after all.  That’s part of what makes the joke so funny.
But all of us, regardless of sexuality, get to live in a world where the grand anarchy of sex is constantly driving home this lesson that no category is inviolate and no law is perfect.  That we should not and cannot take ourselves too seriously, or forget that we’re animals.  That we don’t exist only for the sake of others, or within their understanding.  That cities are made of cooperation, grace, and forbearance- not conformity or mere compliance.
People sometimes worry about immortality.  In the political sense, I mean.  They worry about eternal dictatorships and unconquerable gerontocracies.  This fear isn’t entirely unjustified; death has often played a role in progress and liberation.  But as long as enough of us are still getting horny without permission, still falling in love in stupid ways, I think we’ll be okay.  Romeo and Juliet don’t have to die at the end to make a difference in the world, as long as they’re brave enough to get weird with it.

A Galaxy Within II 24 x 18 inches, Oil on Panel, 2022 We are each a little galaxy of our own. It's a mind-bending exercise trying to comprehend the 100 billion stars found in a typical galaxy. Yet, each of us has roughly the same number of neurons in our own brain, performing a symphony of consciousness. We are a staggeringly complex and unique collection of natural components, come together for a short, precious moment.
If you’re disappointed by the realization that we are “just” collections of atoms, then you may want to consider more deeply the unfathomable multitude of those atoms, how intricately organized they are to facilitate life, and the oceans of time it took for evolution to shape them into that configuration. The average human body is comprised of more atoms than there are stars, not just in our galaxy, but in the visible universe. These 7 octillion atoms are arrayed in astonishing complexity to create 500 trillion cells of numerous types, each with its own suite of exquisite molecular machines, precisely folded proteins, and ordered genetic code. It’s hard to comprehend how long it took for this intricate system to evolve. If that time were the Atlantic ocean at it’s narrowest crossing, then all of human history would represent the first 13 feet from the shore. Just to get back to the point where our ancestor was some kind of fish is roughly 185 million generations that had to survive and pass on their genes so that you could experience this world, with all its heartache, and its wonder. I highly recommend checking out the animations of Drew Berry and WEHI to help visualize the amazing molecular processes happening inside you at all times. https://youtu.be/WFCvkkDSfIU?si=ImQQrt3gaca3ELLF&t=113 Prints: https://robrey.storenvy.com

Tumblr media Tumblr media
content: after what happened, jayce is committed to helping you learn the physics material. even if it means daily sessions and spreading himself extremely thin.
harsh language (cursing, off-hand kms jokes), jayce mom angst, actual physics but I hope it makes sense
I swear I chose relatively simple concepts!! (If you need more context for the graph Jayce made, legit just google physics electron progression 1s 1p and a chart with arrows should come up on google)
notes: might fuck around and post the next part asap because its that good

。·:*:·★,。·:*:Â·ïŸŸâ˜†ă€€ă€€ 。·:*:·★,。·:*:·☆
Somehow the next week was even more stressful than the last few. With the looming stress of this week’s quiz and the strenuous schedule Jayce had you on—you were beginning to wonder if these study sessions were even going to pay off.
He agreed to meet at your place. He’d show up every day, on the dot, supplies in hand. The happy expression on his face made you feel optimistic at first. You were ready to take on physics with a new level of confidence.
That was Monday.
By Wednesday, Jayce’s upbeat mood and cheery outlook just drained you even more. When Thursday came around, one day before the quiz, you were sure you were at your limit.
“Hi, Jayce.” You spoke in monotone, opening the door before he could even knock. You turned away from him, allowing him to step into your apartment and close the door himself.
He poked at your disinterested tone. “Someone’s in a good mood.”
“Yes, well I think that I’ve consumed enough physics this week that I might be reincarnated as Bohr
but that’s fine.” You stalked to your room, “That’s assuming my brain cells aren’t stuck in their own orbits or whatever the fuck.”
“Wait,” he paused in the middle of the hall leading to your room.
“What?”
“You
just made a physics joke.” He pointed to you, his tone increasing in amazement. “And it actually made sense-“
“It should.” You turned away from him, continuing into your room. “If I have to hear about atomic structure, valence electrons, or nucleus-es any more I might kill myself.”
“Nuclei.”
“Huh?” You pulled out the chair at your desk, allowing space for him to sit at the chair next to yours.
He sat beside you, grabbing your notebook. He flipped to a fresh page as he spoke, “Nuclei is the plural
for when you mean more than one nucleus.”
“Not to be that person but I think we may have bigger fish to fry than my grammar, Jayce.”
“You’re right.” He rubbed his hands together, “Where should we start?”
“Well we left off with electron configuration. I understand the concept
kind of
but I can’t remember all of these damn numbers. The pattern is weird.”
Jayce reached toward the floor, seeing some of the papers from the previous day still thrown about. He grabbed one with the electron chart—clearly marked with notes and color coordinated to help you remember.
“I think its best we start with this
if you’re trying to remember and do the problem at the same time you won’t understand it.” He slid the paper in front of you, setting it aside from the book. He then reached for another paper he’d bought—a worksheet. “Here’s some more examples for you to work on. Why don’t you try the first one like we practiced?”
You whined a bit, “Do I have to?”
“Do you want to get a good grade?”
You paused, snatching the pencil from the table. “Just because you have a good point doesn’t mean I like it.”
He remained silent, stifling a laugh. He looked over your shoulder, watching you work out the questions. Somehow you’d made an already long question exponentially longer—working through a method that seemed to work for you. It of course tacked on extra minutes to each problem, though.
“How’s this?” You looked to Jayce for approval.
“This is
” His eyes scanned your writing. Among the many cross outs and faint eraser marks was not a correct answer, but one extremely close. “This is almost right. You just messed up at the end here.”
“What? No way-“ You looked at his finger pointing between the chart and your work, spotting the error. “Oh
I see what I did wrong.”
“Good
wanna try and fix it?”
You didn’t make direct eye contact, but honed in on the paper—encouraged to get the correct answer. He lingered over your movements with a watchful eye until you were done.
“Okay
how about now?” You held the book out to Jayce.
“Amazing.”
“But you didn’t check-“
“I did—watched you do the whole thing.”
You turned to Jayce, “Sure you did.”
“No, really.” He pushed the notebook back to you. “In fact, I think you’re ready to do three of these.”
“You sure?”
He nodded, pushing the materials back in a group for you to work on. “You got this.”
Jayce sat silently again, catching the way you’d twisted your lips in concentration. Your grip on the pencil was harsh, the wood pressing into your skin in a way he was sure should hurt. Even so, you didn’t give up. The process became longer than he expected. His vision started to blur, his focus becoming less sharp, but he stayed watching.
Eventually, you turned to him, several minutes having passed. To both of your surprise, you did rather well. Jayce traced over your handwriting, noting the simple mistakes you needed to keep an eye out for. You nodded alongside him, physically writing down the notes he gave you. Before you continued, you decided on a quick break.
“I’m gonna go grab something to drink, do you want anything?”
“No,” Jayce yawned suddenly, “I’m good.” He moved to rub his eyes, sorting through some of the papers that had found their way to the floor. He turned a bit, watching you leave the room.
You rounded the corner, beelining for the refrigerator and cabinets for a snack—you needed fuel immediately.
With an inhale, you leaned back into the kitchen countertop. Truthfully, you were feeling a bit more confident now, but if you were feeling drained you could only imagine Jayce. You made quick work of grabbing a few more snacks for him and a bottle of water before heading back to the room.
Before crossing the threshold, you froze—the sound of light snores filled the room.
Jayce had fallen asleep.
A crooked smile found a way to your lips, the sight of him admittedly being very cute. Despite him being asleep, his lashes fluttered a bit. His lips parted and let out the sound of his breath. In an occurrence that should provide him comfort, intensity still lingered in his brows; they were pinched together in worry. You didn’t miss the way his lip would occasionally twitch—fighting off the pain that lived in him.
With a quick motion, you quietly set the things you’d grabbed to the side. Making sure you stepped lightly—you swung open the closet and grabbed a blanket to lay over him. You gulped at the action, not even giving it a second thought. The thought left you just as quickly as it had appeared, your feet moving you back toward your desk and open notebook.
Your eyes scanned over your work and the example problems pensively—immediately feeling an overwhelming sensation fill you. Your palms began to sweat, fingers and hands shaking in front of you. A slow blink and deep breath allowed you to calm yourself, enough to grab your pencil and start in on the example problems. Jayce turned then, still sleeping but fidgeting a bit. You had to try to do this—on your own.
For a while, you worked on the problems only, afraid to crosscheck for the answers. Eventually, you’d grown confidence to check. There were a few you’d gotten wrong, circling back to check what you did incorrectly with a motivated scribble. Others, you’d gotten right, though. A warm feeling sat inside you, a pride over finally understanding the material.
Beside you, Jayce started to stir before quickly sitting up in panic. “Fuck, when did I fall asleep?”
You looked to your left, the clock hanging above. “Like an hour ago.”
“Why didn’t you wake me up? I’m supposed to be helping you.” He moved to stand, folding the blanket you’d placed over him.
“Figured you could use the down time.”
He moved closer to the chair, watching you lean your head up to look at him. His shoulders slumped at the optimism in your gaze. “I feel like I’m fucking this up.” He drew in a dramatic breath, “Am I a bad tutor?”
You pushed the chair back a bit, letting him look at your self-graded work. “You tell me.”
His eyes raked over the paper, bending over the blanket in his grasp. He took his time surveying all the written out problems. His nostrils flared when he would let out an amused chuckle at the ones you went back to fix. He leaned away, “You’re pretty smart, huh?”
“Well,” You stood, grabbing the blanket from him. “I have a not so bad tutor.”
Jayce folded his arms, “Right.”
You turned to put the blanket away. When you got back to your desk, you gestured for Jayce to find his seat next to yours again. As the two of you were finally sat, Jayce spoke up.
“So,” he cleared his throat, “How are you feeling? I mean, like mental health wise. I know it’s been a lot.”
“I think
I’m working on it.” You nodded, “As best as I can.”
“That’s good. You should be proud.”
“Thank you, I try to be.” You swallowed, seeming to look off into the distance. The quietness of the room made you want to speak to fill it. “How’s your mom?”
Jayce watched you grimace at the abrupt question, but felt grateful you asked. “She’s okay. I spend a lot of time with her—helping and doing whatever she needs to feel comfortable.” He looks down at his hands in his lap. “Think it’s just a hard time for her, feeling herself be weak in a way she’s never been before.”
You nodded then, looking at his downturned gaze. “I get that.”
“I’m trying really hard to be what she needs me to be, whatever that looks like.” He readjusted, “Sometimes I think that’s a good student
to keep my grades up. Other times I think it’s to just be a good son
show up every day after class. It’s exhausting trying to figure it out.”
“I can only imagine.”
“It’s different with you though.” He jumped a bit at the way your head snapped to him. He spoke quickly, “I just mean that
I know what my purpose is. I can physically see you improving.” He rubbed his neck, “I’m not making sense am I?”
You shook your head, “I’m attempting to follow-“
“I guess I should just thank you, then.”
“Thank me? For what?”
“For letting me help you. For letting me have a purpose outside of just student, son, friend, whatever.” He placed a hand on the desk in front of you, closing the gap between you. He finally let his eyes meet your again, a sincere look on his face. “Thank you.”
A tight feeling ran through you, pushing from your chest outward. You didn’t break the eye contact, though. “I think you’re giving me too much credit, Jayce.”
“I don’t think I give you enough.”
A breath caught in your throat, suddenly overwhelmed by the lingering look Jayce had on you. The both of you stayed there, looking between one another’s eyes. Jayce’s movement forward was almost imperceptible; you wouldn’t have noticed had you not been studying every feature on him.
His phone dinged—piercing through the palpable tension in your room. He looked away, a reluctance in his motion. You looked toward the door in a huff, pushing away the feeling that had creeped up on you so quickly.
“Sorry, it’s Mel.”
“Oh,” you turned to him expectantly, “Do you need to go?”
Without missing a beat he turned his phone face down and folded his hands in front of you. “Nope
I’m good here.”
“Okay, then.”
He slid the book from in front of you, splitting the distance. “Let’s get a better look at this amazing work you did.”
Your tongue pushed on the inside of your cheek, the skin puffing out and heating at the praise.
“Alright, then.”

Be patient, Loved One. Some parts just take time as you go down deep, intimately, and vulnerably into your body and welcome the unknown. Be patient with the journey without any aim or direction. Let your cells, tissues, organs, and fascia catch up to what you have been tending to: re-configuring, re-wiring, repairing, and re-calibrating as your body's new spiritual, energy state that will begin to make shifts in your dreams as your waking life catches up. This is why rest is so important. Treat regeneration like a long savasana and before you know it, a quantum leap emerges. Discover ways you can laugh, play, and rest a lot in the interim. Eventually the physical body lines up to where you are spiritually/energetically. --India Ame'ye, Regeneration

My Familiar’s Ghost part 75
Masterpost
See the latest pages on Patreon!
(ID in alt and under cut)
ID: 1a. Close up on a small projector with light beaming out of its lens. 1b. Waist up of Colin standing in front of the fireplace in the fancy room, holding his laptop in one hand and gesturing behind him with the other, where a vinyl screen has been lowered. A color coded excel sheet with a list of vampires on the y axis and known familiars on the x axis is being projected on it. Each name is highlighted either red, green, or gray. Colin grins and says, 'For everyone's convenience, I've made a handy-dandy excel sheet cross-referencing known familiars with their current or former vampire masters. I would like to highlight the vampires G-man here killed in his recent rampage; no doubt they left some familiars out of work, haha!' 1c. Close up on the excel sheet as an error pops up that says 'this value doesn't match the data validation restrictions defined for this cell'. Offscreen, Colin continues: 'As you can see here, I-oh, darn. Hang on, I think I'm on the wrong cell. 1d. Repeat. Another error pops up over top of the original that says 'there's a problem with this formula'. Colin says, 'Whoopsie! Didn't mean to hit that, haha! Butterfingers over here!' 1e. Repeat. Another popup with the original error appears on top. On top of that, an error that says 'runtime error 7: out of memory'. On top of that, an error that says 'not enough resources to display correctly'. Colin mutters to himself offscreen: 'Let me see, uh...tab...function...nope. Control plus...s? Oh, I think I took a screen shot. Gotta remember that one, heh!' 1f. Repeat. Another error appears on top saying 'microsoft excel has stopped working. hang on while windows reports the problem to microsoft' with a loading bar. Colin says, 'Oh, dag nabbit. Excel, who approved this vacation time?'
2a. Close up on Laszlo slumped in the loveseat, head propped up on a fist with half-closed eyes blearily focusing on the screen. Behind him, Nadja is holding Dolly's body over her head like earmuffs to block the sound of Colin's voice, her mouth open in a frustrated groan. Dolly has her palms over her own ears. Offscreen, Colin chuckles in delight and says 'Don't worry, I can get her going again. Let me try to reset...' 2b. Close up of Guillermo leaning against the doorway, arms crossed, eyes closed as he nods off. 2c. Close up on Nandor leaning back in his chair, eyes closed and mouth slack as he resists sleep. Colin continues offscreen: 'Ope. That was restart. Oh, uh... 'configuring windows updates'... Well, hopefully that won't take too long. 2d. Reverse shot, wide, of Colin standing by the projector screen as Nandor suddenly sits straight up in the foreground, eyes squeezed shut and face turned away from Colin toward the viewer. He whips his left arm out toward the projector screen and shouts 'Enough!' The screen bursts into flame, startling Colin who had been tapping fruitlessly at his laptop. /end ID

Feeling inspired by a post I saw a few months ago, I programmed a simple game of tic-tac-toe in python, in a single expression. Like regular functional programming, this means I can't mutate variables. But more than functional programming, this also means I can't
Declare variables at all
Declare functions
Use most loops and branch structures
The resulting program is 1730 characters long after removing all the non-strictly necessary whitespace and contains "lambda" 9 times.
The players are asked where they want to play using a number for each cell, in the configuration of a standard numpad. The program checks for invalid input too.
Source code under the cut
(lambda grid,toggle,players,cells_filled,print_grid,check_victory,ask_xy,validate_input,the_game:(lambda victor:print('=====\n'+('Draw.'if victor is None else f"{victor} wins!")))(the_game(grid,players,cells_filled,toggle,print_grid,check_victory,ask_xy,validate_input,the_game)))([[7,8,9],[4,5,6],[1,2,3]],True,['X','O'],0,lambda grid:print('\n'+'\n'.join(' '.join(map(str,ligne))for ligne in grid)),lambda grid,players:([player for player in players if any(set(grid[i][col]for i in[0,1,2])=={player}for col in[0,1,2])or any(set(grid[row])=={player}for row in[0,1,2])or set(grid[i][i]for i in[0,1,2])=={player}or set(grid[i][2-i]for i in[0,1,2])=={player}]+[None])[0],lambda players,toggle,grid,ask_xy,validate_input:validate_input(input(f"{players[toggle]}, place your symbol: "),grid,players,toggle,ask_xy,validate_input),lambda selection,grid,players,toggle,ask_xy,validate_input:(lambda selection,grid,players,toggle,ask_xy,validate_input:(selection%3,2-selection//3)if grid[2-selection//3][selection%3]not in players else ask_xy(players,toggle,grid,ask_xy,validate_input))(int(selection)-1,grid,players,toggle,ask_xy,validate_input)if len(selection)==1 and'0'<selection<='9'else ask_xy(players,toggle,grid,ask_xy,validate_input),lambda grid,players,cells_filled,toggle,print_grid,check_victory,ask_xy,validate_input,the_game:(print_grid(grid),the_game((lambda players,toggle,xy,grid:[[players[not toggle]if(j,i)==xy else grid[i][j]for j in[0,1,2]]for i in[0,1,2]])(players,toggle,ask_xy(players,not toggle,grid,ask_xy,validate_input),grid),players,cells_filled+1,not toggle,print_grid,check_victory,ask_xy,validate_input,the_game)if check_victory(grid,players)is None and cells_filled<9 else check_victory(grid,players))[1])
If you can't read any of this, don't worry, I can't either.
You can find the original code and a slightly more readable version on my gitlab: https://gitlab.com/Rijaja/gaae/-/tree/main/tttaae (but careful, the game is in French)

1958 Chevrolet Corvette
This 1958 Chevrolet Corvette underwent a pro-street-style metamorphosis between 2008 and 2011. It is endowed with a 383 cubic inch stroker V8 engine, harmonized with a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, and a narrowed rear axle featuring a limited-slip differential. The rear suspension has been upgraded with a ladder-bar configuration, adjustable coilovers, and the addition of a lift-off hood. The body, painted a striking red with white coves, comes with a detachable hardtop. Inside, a roll cage has been installed along with a B&M Pro Stick shifter, a shift light, aftermarket gauges, and black Procar bucket seats. The enhancements also include dual Edelbrock carburetors, Hooker headers, side-exit exhaust pipes, 15” alloy wheels, and front disc brakes. Acquired by the current dealer in February 2024, this modified C1 Corvette is now part of the Coffee Walk Corvette Collection in Wylie, Texas, and is offered without reserve, complete with build records and a clean Pennsylvania title.

“Hedge Maze”
When we left off I had found a SierpiƄski carpet with 4x factor self-similarity instead of the standard 3x. Primes were easy, but powers of 2 had previously eluded me. These mazes are the result of my second attempt to find an 8x carpet. I had modified my previous formula to add a larger cycle of cells, 15 instead of 7:

After a little more fiddling with initial conditions, I got what I was after!
