Change management is successful when relationships are built through effective communication. As leaders, we must convey the reasons for change, the expected outcomes, and how it will impact the organisation and its employees. Empathy builds our ability to communicate clearly and transparently as leaders. It allows us to focus on the message and how the team members will receive it.

Ok, y’all. I just want it to be understood how important the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is.
Tampering with NOAA would have more impacts than just the main one I've heard - privatization of weather tracking. Of course it would be catastrophic. That means their weather forecasts, guidance, and warnings would not be available for free. Weather is going to go subscription based if this happens, I bet. This undoubtedly would cause the most immediate impact on our daily lives.
Before long, however, more will come.
NOAA also administers the Coastal Zone Management Act. Under this act are the National Estuarine Research Reserves (NERRs), National Coastal Management Program (CZM), and the Coastal and Estuarine Land Conservation Program (CELCP). 
There are 30 reserves established totalling 1.3 million acres. More are on the way.
No, this isn’t just our oceans! This impacts our freshwater coasts of the Great Lakes.
Grants and funding for institutions, including the University of Michigan. They manage the Science Collaborative, which funds research and exchanges to address coastal management needs of all 30 reserves or projects in collaboration with them.
Blending new technologies with indigenous knowledge with regards to management of wetlands and estuaries, strengthen food and economic stability, water quality, coral reefs, and resilience against climate change (ie. Ola i ka Loʻi Wai, Hawai’i) 
Restore ownership of indigenous ancestral lands (ie. Conservation of Cape Foulweather Headland, Oregon)
Identify for underwater archaeological sites for research and surveys, create a draft tribal climate action plan (ie. Penobscot Nation’s involvement in the Northeast Regional Ocean Council, Maine)
Work with each participating state (regarding the CZM, as it’s voluntary to participate) to address challenges along their coastlines. Maybe reach out to your representatives to see why they’re not involved - looking at you, Alaska!
Population enhancement of coral reefs, manage the Coral Reef Information System, minimize negative impacts of fishing on reefs, mitigate impacts of land-based pollution on coral reefs (Coral Reef Conservation Program)
And much, much more.  I’ll note that the aspects of the projects I highlighted above aren’t all they do. These are just a few I want to highlight here. Links can lead you further and I encourage you to take a few minutes to explore.
Another important note: both our oceans and freshwater lakes impact our biggest trade partners!! If dismantled, it would be yet another way that our foolish president will negatively impact our economy and relationships with our most crucial neighbors of Canada and Mexico. NOAA’s efforts also help support one third of the US's commerce. One third. 
Here is a map which breaks down the 1.3 BILLION in awards from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act. This includes goals towards economic development, flood, etc…
Oh and they also help with oil spills. No one likes those.
And space weather, geomagnetic storms/solar flares ie. impacts to GPS, power grids.
I really stress people to look at what the agency does overall, as well as what they do in your state. It’s more than just weather. You can find that information here. 
Just please understand what we will lose if NOAA is gutted, or even just incapacitated for a long time. We already have little time to lose to slow the impacts of climate change and these are just some of the ways they're leading the charge with that.
It’s vital for us to understand what we will fundamentally lose, and it doesn't end at weather/hurricane predictions.
On a personal note, my dad has put what I can only estimate as hundreds of hours of work into one that was begun before the pandemic. If you can, I’d appreciate it if you’re in that area that you participate when you can, or if anything, donate to the UW Green Bay’s NERR General Fund. He’s also involved with portions of the Lake Superior NERR, so your time, if possible, or a donation if you can, would mean a lot to us.

#lobotomy corporation#lobcorp#hod#hod lobcorp#lobotomy corp spoilers#I GUESS i almost forgot i drew her box form#lobcorp spoilers#and michelle actually. ..#both very tiny. itty bitty. microscopic#other sephirah there too as normal. i cant have her alone. and Angelina as well on the top patting her#i have a hard time fully capturing her for some reason. in my mind. maybe its because is the disconnected period!!! mentally#she genuinely wishes to care and be kind yet theres a dissonance with what she does..? or how it ends up being taken or what she does to en#up bringing those actions into reality. she can be forceful? wanting to have employees attend therapy sessions and meetings for suppression#tactics. which i think is also something the safety team is incharge of iirc. so that means shes doing way more that what she needs to on#her job as a sephirah. just for the sake of employees#she really does care as shes one of the only to Directly attempt to change their circumstances and quality of life and health#sure chesed doesnt punish employees when they dont do their work assigned or stress them out with work#but he doesnt actively push to attempt to make changes to aid employees besides the research perks which is to the manager#yesod IS right next to her and does also genuinely care but when it comes to employees hes distant at best when it comes to them and the#way he tries to protect them is by enforcing rules but he doesnt really create or attempt to help them like hod does#yesod is sort of a passive? way of doing it. yes he doesn make a push to enforce said rules but he doesnt make new ones. just follows what#is already there in place. hod tries to make new ways and not just for the safety of people like how yesod's has them physically fine and#not letting them over a certain threshold of mental corruption but she tries to have a program to Directly Address such a thing#its born out of care but the genuine worry of being a good person and her naivety ends up having it do more harm than good#sure there may be some employees that actually like and find it useful but so many are just accepting to their fate of Dying to where#her care seems pointless. shes a sephirah and to them a literal metal box why would they go ahead and feel bad for what an 'ai' is feeling#as she is interrupting their free time in the company#which is rude. and shit. iirc the counseling is compulsory but people go because shes a sephirah and their superior. the thought was there#but again it comes off wrong and ends up not working because shes their superior in the end#EEK!!! yeah... hod. the hod. there is WAY more but i can't fit it all here and i already typed enough

if 2026 rolls around and i've not figured out a set course for dealing with my career woes (taking community college classes, making plans to continue education, switching jobs, literally ANYTHING...) please beat 🔨me 🔨with 🔨hammers........🔨🔨🔨
#i feel so stagnant and unhappy and trapped#by all rights i have a good enviable job#even if it doesn't pay fantastic#and i have a lot of free time that i am completely squandering#either i need to go whole hog into this career and do what i can to learn programming and higher intensity pipelines and time management#or i need to start changing my career like. now. and figure out 1) what to and 2) how to do it#i probably can even juggle it and my current job at the same time#which would be good#i also need to figure out if i want to stay here. move across the country. move to a different country. it kind of is important for that#i gotta travel to some of the places i'm interested in first to see if it's worth my time to lean into the process#bc i have essentially until 35-45 at the latest#it was a bit less overwhelming to approach when it seemed like i could have at least one person to fall back on in case things go wrong#but i don't wanna put pressure on anyone anyway i would rather live in a car if i have to bc i can't find a place for the night or w/e#i think loosely i wanna go on an international trip by end of '27 if like. things don't get crazy??? <:) that would be fun#and it'll be good to see how i fare#i'd like to see and experience more n make new friends. really put myself out there.#obviously i'm not wealthy so it's. tough. but. if i'm still with my same job i can probably take it with me now!!! yay!!#the being transgender and doing weekly shots definitely makes everything so needlessly complicated ugh#personal stuff

#MY MANAGER EMAILED LIKE 2 HOURS B4 I HAD TO GO IN#she finally changed my schedule (1 day) to the night shift today#(i emailed her to be safe just kinda casually reaffirming im going in at the new time & then asking if any other shifts wanted 2 be changed#bcs that sounds great to me whstever option she goes with#she ignored that question & i get a new email from her asking if i completed a training. lets called it DOC#basically a long time ago she said 'i will send you DOC instructions soon' .. a few days pass and i get three 50 paged packets#one is called NAVIGATING DOC#im like oh ok cool that must be the DOC training shes talking abt bcs the other 2 packets were abt various trainings#NAH BRUH. APPARENTLY THE DAY IM SUPPOSED TO GO IN. SHE MESSAGES ME SOME ENTIRELY ALIEN PROGRAM#and is like 'u completed this right? cus if u didnt u cant come in today.'#LIKE?? MAYBE I WOULDA IF U SENT THE SHIT#but it's also like. dam i shouldve emailed prompting her to send what she said she would n clarifying BUT FUCK#WHY DO I GOTTA?? IM NOT THE MANAGER#she literally told me the name of the program rn thru email so i type it in and see like four hour long modules to complete#mind u i aint never even been informed a WHISPER abt this new program. nothings even labeled DOC TRAINING#but my struggle is. was i notified this?? and i just didnt see??? was i supposed to clarify with her what the DOC training was exactly??#the only thing ive heard abt doc training b4 this is 'i need to send u DOC training soon' in EMAIL. so i expected an alert#abt THE DOC TRAINING... in an EMAIL notification. someone needs to add the ability to add doors to curtain systems in revit I am going insane in the membrane over the brokenness of the curtain system what am I supposed to do?? Just lay down and die??

For anyone wondering I just did a door opening and then put a brick wall outside the curtain system so I can add the door and the door opening allows me to have a door that actually leads outside, it doesn’t look bad but why the fuck is it impossible to put doors on curtain systems???
Why should I have to make a whole separate mass or even void mass when we could just allow the fucking doors in curtain systems????
honestly in general the curtain system is just fucked, why is it so broken???
do they not have play testers or something??? I’ve encountered like 50 separate issues and glitches in 2024 and 2025 and you’d think it wouldn’t be so crazy but like every time I livestream it in 2025 it starts flashing and strobing??? Like the fuck how???
I’d complain so so much but the autodesk website is too confusing.

things i’m trying to do for my life to be better summer 2023 edition —
-> exercise 3x a week at least
-> eat protein
-> find easy recipes with few ingredients so i’ll actually be consistent about cooking actual meals for myself
-> less caffeine: no caffeine on non-work days or after 3 pm
-> habit stacking
-> no phone in the morning (admittedly a challenge because it helps my brain wake up but at what cost)
-> california sober
-> read Something
-> fruit
-> hydrate
-> being consistent about doing the dishes + laundry
-> slowly but surely getting my room together in a way that is fit for human habitation
-> i am a body before i am a mind so i need to prioritize my physical needs
-> traveling as much as i can afford to

#personal#vent#oh my goddddd#i thought my coworker and i were finally making decent progress on our project#that we have to present on THURSDAY MORNING#and this is the biggest project we need to do twice a year#only to find. at five fucking pm today. that she had not informed me we are resourcing two of our biggest fabric programs to a new supplier#which supplier? don't know#just know it's not going to be the one I've been planning for#and that the fabric program i DID want to resource#and had SPOKEN TO HER ABOUT TODAY#cannot go to the supplier I pencilled it in as#i don't know if she didn't know herself or just forgot or didn't care or didn't understand or what#for fuck's sake this is your job to know this stuff#don't just sit there looking gormless while i have to find out from YOUR BOSS#who then speaks to me in the most patronizing manner possible as she tells me she can't do my job for me#like motherfucker i just. need. correct. information. jesus christ.#also shout out to the big boss who last week was like tell me if you have any scheduling concerns guys!!!#and then when i told her today i have scheduling concerns because. uh. the fucking project is not going. anywhere. at this rate.#get told oh no sorry we can't do any schedule moves you can figure it out#like???? what???? was the point????? of asking us to come to you????#this is such a prolific fucking issue in my workplace and it drives me nuts#it's like management have heard these trite phrases on a managing people skills course somewhere#and not realised you need to back it up. with actual. actions.#also my manager whomst i loved is now on maternity leave and her replacement is someone i've worked with previously and. hm. suffice to say#she has not changed one bit#in regards to her complete inability to stand up for her team#i'm sure she has her good points but she's as supportive as a fucking wet paper towel#ignoring me trying to set boundaries on my time#but making sure SHE leaves on time for school pickup
