Meet YN Rihanna Fenty-Hotchner
Tumblr media
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, Rihanna has been a name we’ve all heard and seen everywhere!
The thirty-five year old musician has made many of us swoon over her music, iconic fashion moments, and many many more. Now the RnB artist is venturing out to be an Entrepreneur, Wife, and Mother.
“I’ve enjoyed the music and I still enjoy writing! I just think it was time to dip my toe into the fashion world more!” Rihanna States.
Over the years she’s been through many struggles and heartbreak. Rihanna rumored to date stars like Asap Rocky, Drake, even Ashton Kutcher. But she’s found love outside of the music industry.
Rihanna and her now husband [Aaron Hotchner] have been dating in private for three years before the star announced her relationship with him nearly a year ago.
“I just thought it was time,” Umbrella star starts. “Aaron and I were in bed and I mentioned to him I was ready to let the world know about our tiny little family. He supported whatever decision I decided to make. With that I slowly introduced my husband and son to the world.
Tumblr media
Rihanna talks more about her past relationship and her current one.
“I never actually confirmed anything to the public because it never came up with former partners. If it did, they didn’t want to tell the world we were dating. It felt like they’d be ashamed of me.” She states.
“Not gonna lie, it brought so many insecurities into my mind. Whenever Aaron and I started dating, he picked up those pieces pretty quickly. I knew he was different from that moment.”
Rihanna explains to us how she met her lovely husband.
“It was so unbelievably crazy, actually! Him and his team had just finished a case and they’d been out celebrating. It was before I made it big. Some guy was flirting and he saw I was uncomfortable and came to the rescue. Since then, I’d never looked back.”
“I think the main difference between the relationships I have with Aaron versus the relationship i had with others is his ability to read me and have patience with me. Others didn’t have that in the past. Instead they treated me like I should be lucky dating them. They made me feel like given me a chance was a privilege. Aaron’s never made me feel like he was special and he was too good for me. If anything he’s shown me we’re good for each other. And that’s why it was so easy to fall for him!”
Tumblr media
Rihanna explains her shift in the world now being a married woman and a mom.
“I use to see the world in black and white. We have the good and the bad, bad always outweighs the good, but my husband and son have taught me that I have to look at what’s right in front of me. With my husband being out there, catching the creeps and evil men and women out there, putting them away, one less bad guy is out there. It’s always gonna be someone dangerous, but in the end one less evil roaming the streets is still worth seeing the beauty in the world.”
Rihanna talks about her new identity in the industry. “I’m still Rihanna Fenty, that will never change! But now I think I’m ready for the world to see Yn Hotchner! Wife, Mother, and Philosopher! I want the world to see who Yn is. Not just Ri.” She explains.
“Being pregnant has really opened my eyes to so many possibilities of who I can be, honestly. I have learned so much about my body and my ability as a woman! I’m still young and can have fun, but being a mom and being pregnant, it’s really brought a new light to my eyes.”
Tumblr media
We asked her about how big she’s prepared to grow her family.
“Aaron and I want a littler of kids! My husband is a bit older than me, but he’s always planned on slowing down, having multiple little babies out there. I’ve always wanted to have a big family of my own. I’m the only child, so having lots of babies been in my deck of cards for the longest time.
We asked Rihanna [Yn] what she expects in her new career choice.
Tumblr media
“I’m almost done with a few skin care treatments for Fenty Beauty! We’re also launching Savage x Fenty, which I believe the fans will love! And with my pregnancy and being a mom, this launch will be for all! I hope the world is ready for what’s in store for the Fenty take over.

My birthday was a bit ago and I got P5Strikers. Yūki doesn't appear in it, of course, but I thought of this.
Pls deal with my bullshit I got like 4 hours of sleep last night and I spent the afternoon playing because I'm lazy.
Uhhh I call protag Akira.
Also it's unclear but it's a text convo from my phone's perspective.
And this ended up much longer than I thought.
NOTE: This doesn't fit into the canon I've rewritten, but I still keep it up because,, it's cute.

Sent: Hey, hey, did you see the news??
Received: What?
Received: What news?
Sent: The Phantom thieves are back, apparently.
Received: WHAT
Received: REALLY???
Received: OH SHIT ITS REAL
Received: Wait isn't Hiiragi Alice like a fashion icon or something??
Sent: She is, my pink t-shirt's from her brand.
Received: This one looks so cool! But I wonder why she needs a change of heart.
Sent: Idk. She always seems so bubbly and nice... Well, that's a public figure, she probably has her secrets.
Received: I guess, yeah. I wonder how Akira and all the others are... They must be together again.
Sent: Probably. I still have Ann and Futaba's number, but maybe we'll disturb them...
Received: That's awesome! Well, not the fact that someone's heart needs to be changed, but the Phantom Thieves are back!
Sent: Makes me think... Ann told me they didn't have the Meta-Navi app anymore.
Received: Really? Then how...
Sent: I don't know. I'll ask Ann asap.
Received: I just hope nobody's hurt.
Sent: Yūki...
Sent: I don't wanna be pessimistic, but I do think people are hurt. Alice's brand is everywhere and is sold out before we can even see it, people talk about her non-stop... And the tv host a few days ago...
Received: Shit, you're right. People are hurt again.
Received: I just hope the metanoia will be quick.
Sent: Yeah. If it continues, I can't imagine how many couples will be broken, how many people will be left with an empty wallet.
Received: I wonder how she does that.
Sent: What do you mean?
Received: Well, I mean... I don't know, how can you suddenly have so much power over people like that?
Received: I understand why she could want that, though.
Sent: Mmh...
Sent: I don't know.
Sent: But yeah I get it too.
Received: At least we're not at that level.
Sent: Yeah...
Sent: What makes me angry is that she hurts people to gain power.
Sent: Idk, it feels wrong to me.
Received: To me too. Although I guess I'm not in a good position at that level.
Sent: You admitted you mistakes. And you didn't actively hurt anyone.
Received: I could've if Akira didn't try to stop me.
Sent: But it didn't happen.
Sent: Don't worry too much about it. It's in the past.
Received: You're right.
Received: Thank you.
Sent: :)
Received: Hey... I come back to our initial subject, but...
Received: If one day one of us becomes obsessed with Alice like that, will we still be together?
Sent: We know why it happens and that it's no the other's fault, so yeah, that's for sure.
Received: Nice! Thank you!
Sent: You're welcome.
Sent: I didn't see the hour, shit. I have to go to sleep, sorry!
Received: Don't be sorry! Good night, Berry!
Sent: Good night, Yūki, sweet dreams. I love you.
Received: I love you too!

Fishing Clash Cheats
Fishing Clash Guide
Tumblr media
Fishing Clash manual is a manual for warm new game. This may be a high-quality game however in case you don't spend cash for lures and sell off trophies you can't compete. I am a touch disappointed in the quantity of instances this app has crashed on me today. I am hoping this could be resolved. I gave it 2 stars, one for the brilliant portraits; the other for the remarkable movement. I would give it 3 extra if (1) there were commands everywhere to be determined( you are just guessing what each variety approach but you're often wrong); (2) it wasn't so especially luxurious you pay $19.ninety five for a wonderful white shark p.c. And you pick a first-rate white in a duel but never seize as soon as and (three) if they failed to keep pushing you togo on fb and be part of a fishing club(if you're unbiased and dueling a club member you may as well surrender as you're rarely if ever going to win. New skins and objects you can personalise your profile with even extra info way to new icons, frames, stat presentations... and lots extra! New skins and objects now you can personalise your profile with even greater details way to new icons, frames, stat displays... and plenty extra! New skins and items you may personalise your profile with even more details thanks to new icons, frames, stat shows... and lots extra! Don't be a john doe amongst anglers — now you could personalize your profile with precise avatars, uncommon skins, elite badges... and extra! The game started out ok, then in duel you get matched in opposition to humans with cards you do not have. That is an automatic loss, you're compelled to apply the basic lure and also you get random fish. There are sufficient fishing video games obtainable. Pearls are stupidly priced, $10 for 350 and the best packs price more than that... Fishing Clash is so fun i could play it for hours. I just downloaded the game and there may be not anything incorrect with it. Im no longer excellent however i have had a lot amusing playing Fishing Clash i love playing this game, however now i am getting the message replace go to shop after which there may be no area to update. Do not waste your money in this sport due to the fact the bought content is generally underwhelming and they rig the game to maintain you from achieving positive achievements a good way to get you to spend even extra money. Thank ten rectangular games for listening and valuing your clients comments when you have had hundreds if not hundreds of comments from "beloved" gamers asking you to please alternate or cast off sonar from duels!! !alternatively you cross around deleting feedback which are posted to your facebook web page that are meant for proceedings and opinions and remarks from you are oh so "loved" customers.you have misplaced masses or thousands of players do to this and the number is most effective developing.you are inventory additionally went down considerably.your traders will quickly see the trade and back out.very very very horrific customer support by means of you guys.its slowly going to come back to an end and it's far all self-inflicted!!! I am very sorry that i have to trade price of one of my favorites sport ever performed on cellular. In beyond bonus supporter packs were simplest extra bonus, now it modified into necessary. English, chinese, danish, french, german, indonesian, italian, japanese, korean, norwegian, polish, portuguese, russian, spanish, swedish, thai, turkish, ukrainian if you are on a non-public connection, like at home, you can run an anti-virus scan for your tool to make certain it isn't inflamed with malware. As stated formerly, there may be a complete of 10 spaces available for bonuses with a seasoned rod. Even as the two most important bonus spaces are available with the primary rod, you will want the extra 5 spaces that the seasoned rod gives for fish weight bonuses. Earlier than even considering spending Pearls on bonus draws, you need to get your rod to degree 6. this must take no longer than a few hours of fishing, so it's miles very attainable. The purpose you need to get your rod to degree 6 is to be able to get bonuses for the #four and #6 bonus areas. Using bluestacks will even provide you with plenty of lure packs in the beginning: we explained the way to do this in any other article, so that you have to study that too. Now, you're ready to triumph over the ocean like a real fisherman - use your rod and gather all the fishes! We've got slain hundreds of monsters, amassed masses of gacha characters, and ruled countries as a effective lord: now, it's time to go fishing. Sometimes the exceptional element in existence... you can hold being the superhero or the selected one in different games. So there is the lose of money for the creators looming. Certainly one of the greediest loose games i have ever seen. I am getting that you are here to make cash however there comes a point in time when it crosses over into the greed department. Shame shame. Can be deleting. Hate it you cannot win a championship or duel without spending cash or even if do you still can not win if a person through the years has spent more with the builders their servers appear to be rigged for the big spenders, after playing for nearly a month i deleted it and i did enjoy that. It freezes in the course of duels, it freezes once i cross trade lures or locations, it freezes once i change fish, freaking freezes all the time now! As a good deal cash as i've spent on this recreation, it ought to be strolling til top form! So now the update is executed and the game will now not load in any respect. Why did i suppose the update would fix anything, i am done spending my money on something that does not work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The game is great when it stays connected through the app. Sir , Fishing Clash game jab open kar rahe hai, it's always says new update available go to store.. pls fix this sir asap thank you Fishing Clash: catching fish time is set in a delightful setting where you get to compete against other players in real time basis. You have to catch the fishes before your opponent manages to do so. The most popular hobby now in your pocket! As I’m prone to think about these types of things, as I’m sure many of us are from time to time, and because I always enjoy seeing what @davidmann95 says in answers to these types of questions, I’ve decided I would like to have some fun and similarly imagine what a line of superhero books might look like if I had the power to choose.
Today, I want to start with the Big Guy: Superman.
Action Comics: This is THE original book to get it all, and I don’t plan on changing that. I’d keep it as the ‘main’ Superman book with an emphasis on big ideas and epic action to show off why Superman is a character so beloved, and the average arc lasting around 4 issues. I prefer compressed comic story over decompressed, because I think decompression has not been utilized as well as it could be over the past twenty odd years. I want my comic to feel like I really just picked something up and read a lot. The title would be scaled back to a monthly schedule with Al Ewing writing, Ivan Reis on art, and Alex Sinclair on color. This is a team that screams that this is the Superman book to be reading, and I’m reducing the schedule to make sure that the art team has time to keep up. Too often these days are artists bandied from book to book and unable to leave a lasting visual legacy like their predecessors, and Ivan Reis is a fantastic artist who deserves to be given the time he needs to make a beautiful, big Superman title. In fact, all books would go back to a monthly schedule under my tenure. And Al Ewing is clearly the best candidate for the next big Superman writer this side of Grant Morrison based on his in Mighty Avengers through The Ultimates with Blue Marvel and his semi-original work over in Gods of Manhattan the novel with Doc Thunder. Earnestly and unabashedly left-leaning philosophy mixed in with epic sci-fi action and thrills that never forgets the heart and humor that drives his characters, Al Ewing needs to be writing Superman ASAP.
Supergirl: Ever popular and that doesn’t seem to be stopping with the continued presence on TV, I see no reason to discontinue this book or even necessarily relaunch. Maybe do a soft relaunch with an emphasis on the upcoming team and new direction through a press push, but I’m not worried about numbering. The big change on this title is that I would tell the creative teams to stop thinking of her as being in Superman’s shadow and treat her like her own A league superhero. I would tell them to go all out in doing what they need to shake things up in her world to get the character, the in-universe world, and the audience to start seeing her as equal to Superman himself. I would demand a new rouges gallery to generate some new stories and themes to explore; I would demand new additions to the existing supporting cast to help show this personal transition she’s going through; and I would demand a new look for this new direction. The current action suit is fine, but it’s not dazzlingly iconic. I might even play around with the idea that she has multiple suits for fun for her and the audience. To really sell this new direction, I want a team that brings a distinct energy. Kelly Thompson would write and Becky Cloonan illustrating; with these two at the helm, it would be an easy sell. To show commitment to this new direction, after the first year of stories, I would have the first line-crossover between the Superman books be solely between Action Comics and Supergirl.
Superman: This is an ever-present and sometimes main book of the Superman line, so I wouldn’t be getting rid of this one. This book would emphasize Superman’s epic friendships as a team up book. Superman might be the most powerful hero, but he shares the same pure drive to simply help like every hero; therefore, he finds friends everywhere. This would be a book in the mood of Brave and the Bold- smaller arcs, an emphasis on fun over drama, no real long running subplots, and a variety of genres from heists to defend the fortress to detective stories and beyond. Seeing his ability to juggle multiple books at once, I would give this book to Al Ewing as well for him to tell the team up stories he’s always wanted to tell, but doesn’t necessarily have room for over in the main Action Comics title. I would pair him with Chris Samnee on this book.
Tumblr media
Superboy, Son of Superman: A Jon Kent solo book (I’m sorry Connor fans) for his growing adventures. This would be an all ages book with relatively short arcs, but definitely some long running subplots teeming in the background to show commitment. If anyone should feel that they are in Superman’s shadow, it’s Jon, so this is the story the good natured son of Superman trying to find his own niche. I really appreciated how the ‘90s Superboy series put Connor over in Hawaii to put some literal distance between him and Superman that felt different enough for them to safely explore him without constantly contrasting him, so I think a similar tactic would work here with some comic book explanation for how he’s always home at bedtime and homework done under Lois’ stern yet mothering gaze. I would return this Superboy to some midwestern roots of Superman, but change it over to a fictional town in Texas over Kansas. Why? Because Texas is an oddly dynamic place politically, geographically, and culturally compared to its reputation in some parts and its physically and metaphorically big enough to handle the scales of this book. As much as I think Pete Tomasi is doing fine by Jon through second-hand knowledge, I like seeing characters live beyond their first primary architects, so for this book I would have Jeff Parker writing and Evan Shaner illustrating. These two dudes work well with each other and can capture the sense of adventure and ernest emotion I want from this book. The one real story demand I would place on the team is an extended story arc of 8-12 issues with the Legion of Superheroes. It’s been something nearly every Superboy has done, and I think it’s exactly what Jon needs as well.
The New Super-Man: This is book I’ve had to follow mostly second-hand, but I’ve liked pretty much everything about it from the unconventional choice of hero to the Justice Leauge of China. With my imaginary arrival in editorial, this is a book that wouldn’t receive a radical change. A new art team and an emphasis on bigger scale as the Super-Man of China continues to his heroic path, but I would definitely keep Gene Luen Yang on writing duties. If he were ready to move on, I would certainly heavily involve him in picking his successor as I think it’s important to have representation both on page and behind the scenes. Greg Pak is an obvious choice as successor, because he’s an amazing writer and because of his work in making sure Asian American characters and comic industry people get work. He came back to the Hulk in a manner, so maybe he’d come back to Superman. And I would bring Takeshi Miyazawa on art.
Steel: This is a character I love, believe still has place in Superman’s world, and think can sell well if given the right direction and support. This is a book I would have as a family book with John and Nathasha taking the lead as they train some younger and heretofore unintroduced members of the Irons family. This is a book where you can really emphasize the idea that what inspires and unites people around Superman isn’t his power or the scale of his adventures, but the virtue that he’ll always try and never give up on the good fight. This book would lend itself to this, because of it’s mortal cast. The book would focus on sci-fi social commentary in a semi-utopian manner ala Star Trek or Doctor Who as the Irons help defend the corners of Metropolis Superman can’t always get to because he’s busy. The arcs would be short with subplots running in the background that would build up and have a ‘finale’ in the manner of a TV show. For the creative team, I would have Felipe Smith with Fred Van Lante writing and Sanford Greene on art.
While the line could be further expanded, I would stop here, because as much as I love the Big Guy- he doesn’t have the same selling power as he once commanded. I believe this to be a safe and creatively rich direction to take the line.
I’ve got my ideas for the Batman line nearly done and am looking forward to sharing my thoughts on the Justice League line, so keep an eye out shortly for those.

Where have I been‽‽‽
Hey guys!
So, you may have noticed that I haven't been around as much on this blog. Or you might not have noticed, and that's fine, too.
But here's why I've been so quiet lately and here's what you can expect in the future.
First thing's first, my city is on fire right now, and I'm currently evacuated to my BFF's house in another city. I'm typing to you on a mobile device and will provide links in this post to anything I mention. However, if the links are wonky, please let me know and I'll fix ASAP on my actual computer. Now, onto business...
After the the big video I did with the wonderful people at FamilyAware.org about HOW TO ASK FOR HELP, I seemed to just disappear from this site! What happened‽ Well, something good, actually! I got a job!
But don't worry, NEXT GOOD THING ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE. When I got my new job, I needed to take some time to learn the ropes there and see how that changed my typical filming and posting schedule. But I didn't stop making videos! I just stopped sharing them here, temporarily. Partially because I just didn't have time to do both, and I thought bringing you guys helpful content was more important than sharing it everywhere for just a little--but also because I wanted to try some newer, faster filming and editing techniques that would help me bring you videos more efficiently. And, until I got my routine and methods down, I didn't want to keep springing new styles and such on you every week while I figured those things out.
But I did post a ton of videos. Just look at how many videos I posted! :D And there's more that aren't even linked above!
GOOD NEWS: Now that I've had some time to figure out filming and scheduling and stuff around my new job, the videos will be coming at you with promotions and alerts out the wazoo, just like before. There are a couple changes to note, though. Don't worry! Nothing distressing!
CHANGE 1: Videos will still be released once a week, BUT VIDEOS WILL NOT BE RELEASED ON WEDNESDAYS. Or, rather, they might, but not regularly. My new schedule at work is slightly difficult to predict, so your weekly vids will still be here for you, but they won't be released on a specific day of the week. Be sure to subscribe and click the bell icon to get notified when a new episode is out!
CHANGE 2: More of the vids will be filmed in my car/on my couch/etc. -- places I am before I go to work or right as I'm leaving work. But don't worry. I'm still committed to bringing you quality content.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions. I'm always here to help. Stay tuned for an episode coming later this week!

TWNTY SVN interview.
We recently had the chance to catch up with TWNTY SVN, a rap artist signed with Loyalty Over Royalty Records. Keep reading as we discuss music, these crazy times, and more!
- I love your name and the sound of it: what is the story behind your moniker?
Aye thank you! So my birthday is November 27th and my best friends (basically my brother) birthday is December 27th. So we connected with that as kids and it’s always just been our lucky number. Way before music 27 has always had some significant meaning to me. Once I got more into music I gravitated and got interested in the icons that were apart of the “27 Club”. Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Basquiat, and so many more. I see myself being in that realm but not leaving that young. I’m TWNTY SVN forever.
- You’ve probably been asked this quite a lot, but the current situations with Pandemic worries, riots and social unrest has been putting a huge strains on people. What is your take on all of this, and how has it affected you as an artist?
It’s crazy honestly. With the virus I’m just not really sure.. it seems a little shady to me. But as far as the protesting and all that, I’m behind it 100 percent. We need change in the way things are looked at and handled because it’s out of hand and unnecessary. I will never know what it’s like to be black, but I will stand with the community and do what I can to push forward for change.
- If there is anything about the current music scene that you could change, what would it be and how would you do it differently?
I wouldn’t change anything. Music is art. It’s a way to be creative and express yourself. There’s so many dope artists out. Whether it’s lyrical, melodic, ambient, street.. there is an artist doing it. I think we’re in a great era because there is no boundaries, people are comfortable being themselves and pushing the limits.
- Do you think that it is important for people to be political with their music?
Yes and no. Everyone has their own lane. If you want to spread a certain message then you can, you have that voice. But if you don’t want to, then you don’t have to. Like I said, music is art. If you’re not a political person, don’t get political. If you are, then speak your mind.
- Do you have any plans for upcoming releases or activities?
Most definitely! I just dropped my single “Reasons” which is streaming everywhere. We will be shooting the video to that ASAP. So be on the lookout for that. And nobody knows this yet.. but I have another single “Cope” that will be dropping soon as well. And once everything open back up and get somewhat normal we will be back doing shows and all that.
- What is the best way for fans to reach out and/or stay updated with what you do?
My website has all the updates on what I have going on.

There Are Still Plenty of Good Cookbooks to Come This Year
Tumblr media
Including Ina Garten’s latest, which is being gloriously fast-tracked
This post originally appeared on May 5, 2020, in Add to Cart — the weekly newsletter for people who love shopping (almost) as much as they love eating. Subscribe now.
So much has been thrown off track by the novel coronavirus pandemic — plans changed, launches postponed, events canceled. One thing that hasn’t been totally quashed: cookbooks.
With so many people stuck at home, interest in home cooking is higher than ever, and in the world of cookbook publishing, plenty of planned 2020 releases still appear to be on track — or even fast-tracked. Ina Garten posted today, “GOOD NEWS!! Because we all need it ASAP, we decided to move up the publication date of my new book MODERN COMFORT FOOD to October 6th!” (Preordering has already begun.)
Other exciting new books are on the horizon. Xi’an Famous Foods in NYC has its first cookbook coming out in October, featuring “over 100 recipes of top XFF dishes, and stories of the journey that led us here,” as CEO and owner Jason Wang wrote on Instagram. Julia Turshen shared that her next book, a collaboration with Somali chef Hawa Hassan with recipes and stories from eight African countries, is coming out in October. And Nik Sharma posted the juicy-looking cover of his upcoming book, The Flavor Equation, on Twitter recently (deemed by my colleague Hillary Dixler Canavan “a Good Cover”) — also due out in October.
Basically, don’t despair, because fall will bring a cookbook bounty. And by then, maybe you’ll already be a pro home chef who’s cooked through their existing cookbook collection. Twice.
Things to buy
A new entrant in the cookware startup game is Abbio, which has started with stainless steel tri-ply pots and pans (i.e., the stuff All-Clad is known for) at a more affordable price. My colleague Matthew Kang is into Abbio’s large nonstick skillet as a versatile, everyday-use tool.
Global knives are a chef favorite, especially the eight-inch Global chef’s knife — which is currently on sale pretty much everywhere you look.
I never knew I needed a special vessel to prepare salad dressing until reading this “Buy This Thing” entry, which makes an extremely compelling case for this ceramic salad dressing bowl.
One thing I’ve always known I cannot live without: my tiered metal spice racks, which keep my cabinets organized to my (very obsessive, neat-freak) liking. Everyone should be arranging their spices in stadium seating.
Things to know
Feeling slightly annoyed by how sourdough has become The Bread of the moment when there are so many other good breads out there? (Just me??) Here’s a guide to a few more good ones to tackle in the kitchen.
Two more food trends for our pantry-diving moment: tinned fish and chile oil.
While big-name cookbooks may have to wait until fall, there are several new cookbook projects emerging in support of the restaurant industry and its workers during the pandemic. Family Meal: Recipes from Our Community, a digital-only collection of recipes from folks like Samin Nosrat and Alison Roman, was released today, with all proceeds going to the Restaurant Workers’ Community Fund’s COVID-19 Crisis Relief Fund. Available for preorder is Serving New York: For All The People Who Make NYC Dining Unforgettable, with recipes from Olmsted, Momofuku, and other NYC icons that will benefit ROAR (Relief Opportunities for All Restaurants) and Robin Hood’s restaurant relief fund. There’s Staying In: Recipes and Stories from Isolation, another collaborative recipe e-book that benefits Chefs in Schools, which provides kids in need with the school lunches they’re missing right now. Then there’s Recipes for Relief, a site where you can buy interactive recipes from chefs and mixologists, with proceeds going to those individuals’ staff or their organizations of choice.

1920s fashion history: the women who changed our style forever
http://fashion-trendin.com/1920s-fashion-history-the-women-who-changed-our-style-forever/
1920s fashion history: the women who changed our style forever
We chart the greatest influencers on the twenties’ style scene.
Before the likes of Katharine Hepburn and Bette Davis brought us the iconic 1930s fashion styles, there were the super chic styles of the roaring twenties. From the ultra-glam flapper girls to the first waves of cool androgyny, 1920s fashion was all about liberation, trying new things and having a whole lot of fun in the process.
After World War One, women’s style loosened up (literally) as the corsets came off, skirts got shorter , and thanks to a certain Coco Chanel, trousers for women were in for the very first time.
While comfort was king, there was still a decadence to Gatsby-era fashion – think Art Deco motifs, rich velvet or satin dressese embellished with pearls and gems. Showgirls like Josephine Baker, Clara Bow and Greta Garbo became the key trendsetters of the decade.
Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel’s 1920s fashion
We are eternally grateful to Mademoiselle Coco Chanel for so many definitive 1920s fashion styles, and some of the greatest sartorial inventions; the little black dress, skirt suit, costume jewellery, espadrilles… But her greatest, most overarching influence? The liberation of women’s clothing and the concept of casual chic in the 1920s. Chanel led the trend for a flatter, corset-free bust, a streamlined silhouette with no hyper-waistline and she popularised trousers for women. Next time you let it all hang out after a huge dinner, you can thank this woman.
Clara Bow’s 1920s fashion
Here’s one of the original IT actresses, Clara Bow, modelling an ideal 1920s fashion look. The ultimate flapper girl, she looks ready to break into a Charleston any moment, doesn’t she? The slimming chevrons and dropped waist became style trademarks for all flapper girls by day, and were amped up in sequinned versions for the Gatsby glam parties at night.
Colleen Moore’s 1920s fashion
Silent film actress Colleen Moore basically invented the bob. Women around the world copied the black block cut that she and a few other early adopting actresses made popular, making her one of the greatest beauty influencers of all time – although 1960s fashion would see an even shorter popular style in the pixie crop. She’s pretty much the reason so many of us opt for bob hairstyles today. Colleen loved her bob so much, in fact, that she kept that haircut until the day she died in 1988. Talk about a signature style…
Louise Brooks 1920s fashion
Party girl Louise tried and tested all of the trends the decade had to offer, and we’ve got her down as an Alexa of the decade. She popularised the bob, got women to see how fab trousers can be and was one of the first actresses to speak openly about her experiments with her sexuality. Palazzo trousers are still a staple of holiday style.
Josephine Baker’s 1920s fashion
Josephine Baker is the woman who inspired Beyonce’s booty-shake. How cool is that? The original showgirl was famous for her ‘banana dance’, plus she was a spy and she owned a pet cheetah, which she used to walk in Paris. A queen of accessorising, the Jazz Age beauty sometimes wore little else on stage, and by day she worked an Art Deco print like no other.
Greta Garbo and Valentina Schlee 1920s fashion
On the set of The Temptress, actress Greta Garbo was without doubt one of the decade’s most alluring film stars. While many actresses sexed it up to appeal to male audiences, Greta’s sense of style meant that women, too, were fascinated by her beauty. Her favourite designer was Valentina Schlee, and she went on to epitomise old Hollywood glamour.
Gloria Swanson’s 1920s fashion
Dripping with glamour in her spliced gold dress and bejewelled headband, Gloria Swanson was the picture of 1920s fashion. Never knowingly understated, her extravagant dress sense meant that she was one of the decade’s stand-out style star – a Lady Gaga for the Jazz Age, if you will.
Dorothy Sebastian and Joan Crawford’s 1920s fashion
As women’s style became more relaxed, there was more emphasis than ever before on sportswear and swimwear. We were still a long way off from the bikini here; a staple part of 1940s fashion, it wasn’t invented until 1946. But for the first time women could move freely and actually be active in their activewear, so all in all it was a pretty revolutionary decade.
Pola Negri’s 1920s fashion
The first European actress to be invited to Hollywood, silent film star Pola was responsible for introducing all sorts of our favourite fashion and beauty trends to popular culture. She loved headgear, put fur boots on the fashion map and even introduced the world to the concept of red painted toenails.
Dorothy Mackaill’s 1920s fashion
As trousers for women became the norm, the androgynous look was the coolest trend to be seen in. Brit actress Dorothy worked a full tuxedo on the set of The Crystal Cup, making a style statement that women everywhere wanted to buy into.
Mary Pickford’s 1920s fashion
The square cut was the neckline of the decade, flattening the bust line after years of ample cleavage in corsets. Co-founder of film studio United Arts, Mary Pickford was a 1920s heroine for women at work, and a power-dressing one at that.
Anita Page’s 1920s fashion
Queen of pearls Anita, pictured below right with actresses Joan Crawford and Dorothy Sebastian for the film Our Dancing Daughters, reportedly received 35,000 fan letters in a week during her heyday. Remember folks, these were the times when fan-girls didn’t have Twitter or emojis to express their love for a star, so these were physical, hand-written notes of adoration. Amazing, right?
Jean Arthur 1920s fashion
Jean was the 1920s’ too cool style icon and queen of screwball comedy. She was publicity shy – ‘I’d rather have slit my throat’ than do an interview – and worked an androgynous slick look. Think crisp white shirts and relaxed tailored trousers here.
Fay Wray 1920s fashion
Before she became an international superstar in 1933’s King Kong, Fay was a young flapper girl with a penchant for Art Deco jewellery like no other. Just look at that gorgeous choker and all of those stencil-like bracelets.
Zelda Fitzgerald 1920s fashion
Mr Gatsby himself, author F. Scott Fitzgerald declared his novelist wife Zelda to be ‘the first American Flapper.’ Her creativity, independence and attitude were exactly what being a flapper girl was all about. You didn’t think it was only about those glitzy dresses now, did you?

Ed. Note: Wesley is back with another round up of amazing live music in Memphis this month. This columns tends to focus on one-time shows and special concerts, Memphis is full of regular gigs at unique venues across town. Check out the Lounge, Hernando’s Hideaway, B-Side, and Eight & Sand in the Central Station hotel, in addition to all the usual haunts. Top photo: Xavier Wulf performs at the Hi-Tone on March 6th.  Here are the twelve concerts you won’t want to miss in Memphis this month: MARCH 1 Sounds2Real Syndicate Presents: Guitar Heroes vol. 1 at Growlers Doors at 7 p.m., all ages, $10 Six Memphis guitarists will come together under one roof to showcase the many unique styles of Memphis guitar. Featuring Derek Brasser Jr., Thomas O. Crivens, Jamaal Franklin, Ping Rose, Steve Bethany, and Paul Taylor, this show aims to create a collaborative space for guitarists and fans looking to talk shop and network.  MARCH 3 Jill Scott at The Cannon Center for the Performing Arts 8 p.m., $57+ First off, let me say that tickets for this show are more or less sold out—only the $215 “Official Platinum” floor seats are left through Ticketmaster. That being said, I’ve found people reselling legit non-price-gouged GA tickets through the Facebook event, so if you really want to go, check those out first. Watch out for the scammers, though.  Anyway, Jill Scott’s music is timeless. Her debut album Who Is Jill Scott? was one of my biggest inspirations to start playing music. Lucky for us, the album’s 20th anniversary is this year, which she’s commemorating with a tour performing the album in its entirety.  MARCH 5 Buildings and Bummer with Pressed and Namazu at The Lamplighter Lounge Doors at 9 p.m., 21+, $7 Thanks For Nothing by BUMMER All four of these bands are heavy. Buildings (Minneapolis) is sludgy, Bummer (Kansas City, MO) is noisy, Pressed (Memphis) is hardcore, and Namazu (Memphis) is proggy. I enjoy it very much. Take a listen to Bummer’s “Second Chimes (Terrence Howard War Machine)” above. It’s hypnotic and driving, and the right kind of abrasive. Still really disappointed that we never got to actually see Howard suit up, but Don Cheadle did okay I guess. MARCH 6 Xavier Wulf at Hi Tone Doors at 6 p.m., all ages, $20 Memphis is really good at producing underground rap stars and everywhere else is good at biting the sound. I’m only a little bitter about it. Xavier Wulf is Memphis through and through. With several videos on YouTube racking up millions of views and almost a million monthly Spotify listeners, the dude is real. “Whiplash’d”, linked above, is one of my favorites. Post Malone with Swae Lee and Tyla Yaweh 8 p.m., all ages, $85+ Not gonna lie, there’s really nothing else I can (or want to) add to the Post Malone conversation. Say what you want about the guy, he knows his way around a hook. Catch him with “Sunflower” collaborator Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd fame and Tyla Yaweh. MARCH 13 Marco Alexander in The Green Room Doors at 7 p.m., all ages, $10 I was reading Memphis musician Marco Alexander’s bio when this particular line stood out, “Marco has since performed with more than 23 orchestras nationwide and has participated in national soundtrack tours with Disney and Nintendo.” If this guy’s good enough for Mickey Mouse AND Super Mario, he’s more than good enough for us. Ed. Note: Here’s a bonus show recommendation from Holly… Graham Winchester Release Show at Bar DKDC 7:30 p.m. – 10 p.m., $10 I’ve been watching Graham Winchester provide this city with music basically since I moved to town almost 15 years ago. He’s come a long way from playing behind South Park in what I’m sure was a condemned parking lot! The prolific drummer and musician plays in too many bands to count, and you can catch him around town at least eight or nine days a week. This March 13th show is extra special though—Graham releases a solo 45 record for Madjack Records at Bar DKDC, accompanied by the TN Screamers, the Turnstiles, and GW Electric Band. It’s a $10 cover, records are $10, and the show, which “will run completely on time” is from 7:30 p.m. ’til 10 p.m. MARCH 15 America at The Orpheum Theatre 7 p.m., all ages, $41+ My Dad bought me a guitar when I was young (mostly because he didn’t like me playing on his), except he was lowkey disappointed when the only songs I learned to play were from video games (shout out to “Breezy” from Final Fantasy VIII). So to try and make him proud, I decided to learn a song that he liked and that I could learn fairly quickly. I landed on America’s “A Horse with No Name.” Real simple, like two chords, and easy to sing and play at the same time. To this day, I love that song, I love this band, and I love my Dad. And that’s what being an American is all about. MARCH 16 Cher with Nile Rodgers & CHIC at FedEdForum 7:30 p.m., all ages, $24+ Between Cher playing everyone’s firebrand grandmother on Twitter and Nile Rodgers contributing to Daft Punk’s inescapable “Get Lucky” there’s a brand new music interest for musical icons and I am absolutely here for it. Cher’s latest release, a collection of ABBA covers called Dancing Queen, has sold fairly well world-wide, which leads me to believe that another comeback is in order. After half a century of music, Cher is eventual, Cher is inevitable. MARCH 21 Young Nudy at Growlers Doors at 7 p.m., all ages, $20+ When Young Nudy raps, I like how he’ll just trail off at the end of a bar, as if the extra syllable takes precious breath away from the start of the next one. Right now, he’s arguably more known for being kin to rap superstar 21 Savage, but with co-signs from 21 along with J. Cole, JID, Playboy Carti, and EarthGang, that’ll definitely change soon. His new album Anyways dropped in February, which he’s currently touring. MARCH 24 Damo Suzuki’s Network at Hi Tone Doors at 8 p.m.,18+, $20 Damo Suzuki, 70-year-old Japanese musician best known for fronting the idolized German krautrock band CAN during its best years, has been traveling the world since the late 90s bringing musicians into Damo Suzuki’s Network. Music rarely gets more experimental than it does in the Network. If a song having structure is unimportant to you, you will feel at home in Damo Suzuki’s Network. MARCH 26 of Montreal with Locate S,1 and Harlan at Hi Tone Doors at 8 p.m., 18+, $18 of Montreal is a twee pop band from Athens, Georgia that was indie-big in the aughts, and for good reason—they put out six albums from 2000-2009 which were all critical successes. I don’t believe in guilty pleasures, but it is kind of hard to revisit this band because adolescent tastes rapidly evolve. But, like most things you loved in high school or college, there’s still a place in your heart for them. And actually, I think Cherry Peel, their first album released in 1997, still rocks. Their latest album UR FUN released in January, and it’s dripping with 80s nostalgia. Pretty cool if you like Stranger Things. Week-End Update: A Higher Calling
I think we can all agree that dogs are pretty amazing animals. They are capable of giving an inordinate amount of love to make our lives better. They are members of our family and, for many, being our constant companions and providing us with emotional support is a job for which they are well-equipped without any special training at all. Some, however, seem to have a special calling and ability to train to become a service dog and what they can do in that role is monumental to their human. This week, Abbey & Gail both took their first step towards their ultimate goal of becoming service dogs: they met the humans who will work with trainers to help them achieve the esteemed rank of service dog.
Our buddy, “Big Max” the Beagle-Border Collie mix also found his perfect furever family as did Arabelle, Moses, Razberry, William (now Finnegan), Zelda, Zola & Zion! Zelda & Zola would like to thank Coldwell Banker for their annual Homes For Dogs event since their met their new families at the event!

It was a busy week-end for us with the fun Upper Providence Community Day event on Saturday and a few of our pups did some meeting & greeting at the dedication of  Mandy’s Memorial Playground in Phoenxville this afternoon. We were honored to be invited as our pups know that, if you can’t be as lucky as Dodger FKA Jacoby & Bailey (FKA Buttercup) were to be adopted by a DiGirolomo, you may be lucky enough to be DiGirolomo adjacent by getting adopted by a friend or neighbor of the family. If you’re in the area, the playground is a bright, colorful and safe space for the kids to play and a great addition to the community.

We also have some nice updates to share as well:
Maverick FKA Legend

“Hi there!
Thought you guys might enjoy some pictures of our big baby. Maverick (previously legend) is 7 months now and almost 60lbs! He loves his off leash hikes, playing tug of war, meeting new people, playing with other dogs and belly rubs!
We were curious if you have any pictures of his brother icon. If so we’d love to see. “
  Rocky FKA Patrick
Rocky FKA Patrick
“Rocky (formerly Patrick) is excited for football season”
          Leia FKA Gwen
“Leia’s up to 11lbs 14oz at 3 months. She’s a sweetie. Spunky and cuddly. She’s had 2 puppy classes and now knows “sit” & “down”
I had her DNA tested to see what her “breed” is composed of:  25% German Shepherd, 12.5% each- chow, boxer, and lab, 37.5% mixed breed (terrier, herding, Asian, & middle eastern).”
  Dolly FKA Ivory
Dolly FKA Ivory
“Perfect fit.”
        Jax FKA Checkers
“We have renamed Checkers his new name is Jax.  He is settling in great.  He and Boone are doing very good together we brought Jax home on Wednesday and Boone did okay but Sunday was a real turning point he actually let Jax lay with him now the cuddle on the bed and Boone’s “chair”.  Of course they are like little kids and if one has a toy the other wants it so but I couldn’t be more pleased with the transition. I definitely send you some pictures.
Thanks for checking in and for all the Great Work you do to get all the animals great forever homes.”
  Jax FKA Spuddy
#gallery-4 margin: auto; #gallery-4 .gallery-item float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 25%; #gallery-4 img border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; #gallery-4 .gallery-caption margin-left: 0; /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
”Jax is doing great! His nickname is shadow because he follows us everywhere. He is always so happy, tail wagging and smiley.
Jax gets along with all animals and people. One of the best parts of my day is waking up to his huge wet Pyr nose in my face.  He has put on a good amount of weight and is starting to look like a healthy mature Pyr 🙂 He also graduated from the crate and is allow to roam the house when we aren’t home.
We recently started fostering puppies through TLC and Jax has been a great playmate and role model. Can you remember the Jax we brought home? You wouldn’t recognize this well behaved dog! He was the perfect addition to our family and we are very grateful for everything TLC does to help save these sweet pups.
Here are a few recent pictures! “
  Dean
“Dean is doing very well, and I couldn’t be more happy with him.  He’s super smart and already picking up on the housebreaking training I’ve begun.  He’ll be staying Dean, by the way…I just love the name.  He loves my two kitties and hey love him back…they’ve been running around the house together.  I’ll be sure to post pictures to TLC’s Facebook page periodically.
He’ll be visiting the vet next week for an initial check up, and I’ll be bringing copies of all his medical records.  Once he’s old enough to be neutered, and the procedure is done, I’ll contact you to coordinate the refund of that neuter fee.
I haven’t checked the microchip info, but will do so ASAP and make any changes should they be necessary.
Thank you and your team for bringing him into my life.  He’s already brought lots of joy to my every day.”
  Leo FKA Dillon
#gallery-5 margin: auto; #gallery-5 .gallery-item float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; #gallery-5 img border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; #gallery-5 .gallery-caption margin-left: 0; /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
“We ended up renaming Dillon to Leo. He is absolutely the best pup and is doing so incredibly well ! We are so impressed by him every day. We had our Vet checkup this past Saturday and will be going back in 3 weeks for some more shots. Our vet recommended to wait till Leo is 6 months old to get him neutered. I’ve attached a couple pictures of Leo for you guys !
Thanks so much !”
  Bailey
#gallery-6 margin: auto; #gallery-6 .gallery-item float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 25%; #gallery-6 img border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; #gallery-6 .gallery-caption margin-left: 0; /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
“Thanks for following up! Bailey is staying Bailey, and she is doing well! She settled pretty quickly into our family, and we’ve started to learn her likes (chewtoys, sticks, peanut butter) and her dislikes (going outside in the rain!)
She has her first vet appointment this Thursday, and we have signed her up for insurance through PetPlan. She’s been very good at learning good doggie behavior, but we’re hoping to reach out to trainers soon to help work on her jumping. We are so lucky to have found her, and we can’t thank you enough for matching us up with her.
We have a few pictures attached to this email as well.”
Maxwell (2017’s Saving Southern Souls dog)
#gallery-7 margin: auto; #gallery-7 .gallery-item float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; #gallery-7 img border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; #gallery-7 .gallery-caption margin-left: 0; /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
“Max is settling in well! We have been visiting the dog park daily along with daily walks. We have a vet appointment scheduled for this Friday. We have been working on training- Max now wears a gentle leader on walks due to pulling, but is becoming more comfortable with it. I am also working with him on basic commands. Thank you again for bringing him into my life!!”
  Kurt
#gallery-8 margin: auto; #gallery-8 .gallery-item float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; #gallery-8 img border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; #gallery-8 .gallery-caption margin-left: 0; /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
“Thank you so much for your email. Kurt is doing great. We decided to keep his name. He is such a sweet puppy. The entire family is in love with him…he is already good friend with our neighbor’s dog and loves to walk to school with all the kids. “
  Pebbles FKA Cookie
“Cookie is doing well, she quickly learns what we expect of her and slept all night in a crate next to the crate of our 2 other dogs.  Since we always ask the dogs if they want a “Cookie” we figured it would be best to change her name.  Yesterday we decided on Pebbles and she seems to respond to it already.  We have a vet appointment for her next Wednesday.  I was going to take her to Berks County Dog Training Club but it is the same night as Freckles Agility Training, I am looking for another place to take her.  I completely agree that training is necessary.
All my dogs, current and past, have had training for obedience, therapy dogs, CGC and agility training.  I will most likely take Pebbles for agility training after Freckles is finished.
One of the best benefits of getting Pebbles is that she and Freckles (the rescue that we got last Sept.  and is afraid of dogs) get along famously and Freckles is even playing with her.  I will try to get some pictures of the 3 dogs together
If Freckles and Pebbles get a little too wild and start growling at each other our 10 year old pom will go and stand between them, it is so funny, he just stands there until they stop then goes and lays down.  I think that she is the perfect addition to our house.”
For those of you who aren’t on Facebook, we had some nice updates posted to our Facebook page
Cali FKA Carolina
#gallery-9 margin: auto; #gallery-9 .gallery-item float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 25%; #gallery-9 img border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; #gallery-9 .gallery-caption margin-left: 0; /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
“Hello to love a canine rescue. Back in April we adopted a beautiful puppy by the name of Carolina. Thought you might like some pictures of her since she has grown a lot. We have since changed her name to Cali.”
We can’t believe that’s been a whole year since Angeline’s fluffballs were adopted. We knew they’d get big and we were right . . .
Utley FKA Bentley
Utley FKA Bentley
“What a year! Today marks the one year anniversary of when we adopted Utley! He has made his mark on our family and we can’t imagine life without him“

Including Ina Garten’s latest, which is being gloriously fast-tracked This post originally appeared on May 5, 2020, in Add to Cart — the weekly newsletter for people who love shopping (almost) as much as they love eating. Because we all need it ASAP, we decided to move up the publication date of my new book MODERN COMFORT FOOD to October 6th!” (Preordering has already begun.) Other exciting new books are on the horizon. Twice. Things to buy A new entrant in the cookware startup game is Abbio, which has started with stainless steel tri-ply pots and pans (i.e., the stuff All-Clad is known for) at a more affordable price. Things to know Feeling slightly annoyed by how sourdough has become The Bread of the moment when there are so many other good breads out there? Then there’s Recipes for Relief, a site where you can buy interactive recipes from chefs and mixologists, with proceeds going to those individuals’ staff or their organizations of choice. from Eater - All https://ift.tt/3c5FcB0
