🚀💻 The Ultimate Guide to Laptops for Data Science: Finding Your Perfect Machine 💻🚀
Are you diving into the exciting world of data science? Whether you're crunching numbers, running complex algorithms, or visualizing data, having the right laptop is crucial for your success. Here's your ultimate guide to finding the perfect machine for your data science journey:
Powerful Processor: Look for laptops equipped with Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 processors. These offer the horsepower needed for running resource-intensive data analysis tasks with ease.
Ample RAM: Data science workloads can be memory-intensive. Aim for at least 16GB of RAM to ensure smooth multitasking and handling of large datasets.
High-Performance Graphics: While not essential for all data science tasks, a dedicated GPU can significantly accelerate certain computations, especially those involving deep learning and neural networks.
Storage Space: Opt for SSD storage for faster data access and program loading times. Aim for at least 512GB to accommodate your datasets, software tools, and projects.
Portability: Data scientists are often on the move, so consider a lightweight and compact laptop that doesn't compromise on performance. Look for models with a durable build and long battery life for extended work sessions.
Quality Display: A high-resolution display with accurate color reproduction is essential for data visualization and analysis. Consider laptops with IPS panels for wide viewing angles and vibrant colors.
Connectivity Options: Ensure your laptop has ample ports for connecting external devices like monitors, keyboards, and data storage drives. Thunderbolt 3 ports are a bonus for high-speed data transfer.
Comfortable Keyboard and Trackpad: Since you'll be spending long hours typing and navigating, a comfortable keyboard and responsive trackpad are must-haves for a pleasant user experience.
Reliable Cooling System: Data science workloads can push your laptop's hardware to the limit, so choose a model with an effective cooling system to prevent overheating and maintain optimal performance.
Budget Considerations: While top-of-the-line specs are desirable, consider your budget constraints and prioritize components based on your specific data science needs.
Remember, the perfect laptop for data science is the one that best fits your workflow and preferences. Consider these factors carefully to make an informed decision and embark on your data science journey with confidence! 🌟

death by a thousand cuts
satoru gojo x f!reader
**part of my satoru as taylor swift songs series
an: a wild taylor as gojo has appeared. enjoy. satoru as taylor swift anon who is always in the asks, this is for you. i see you and i hear you.
--
“holy shit. there’s no way you’re on his fucking linked in during class?” megumi whispers.
you feel your eyes widen as you look to your left to find a very, deeply distraught megumi staring at you. and it’s almost like clockwork, the way he abandons his accounting spreadsheet – and quickly slides into the messages app on his laptop.
the three consecutive buzzes of your phone thrum under your thigh come before you see nobara and yuuji turn their heads back, two rows ahead of you in the lecture hall, and looking awfully more distraught than megumi.
“you’re kidding.” nobara mouths.
“freak!” yuuji whispers, earning you a set of weird glances from the group at your right.
you glare at the two of them, before turning to megumi and bringing your foot down on top of his. megumi winces, giving you a very characteristic and unbothered eye roll, before he returns to finishing up his spreadsheet.
you pull your hood up over your ears, cheeks warm and pink from embarrassment, before you focus back on the screen.
you know that he’s right. that there is really no point at looking at his account – not when you have all of the details memorized.
Satoru Gojo  Senior Data Science Student @ Tokyo Technical Institute
three work experiences. data analytics intern for the justice project. hackathon project lead. meadow investments development engineer.
two degrees under his education. because he’s dual enrolled and set to get a bachelor’s in computer science and a masters in engineering by the end of his term next year.
and one organization. alpha kappa psi, the business fraternity.
the only reason you were at the scene of the crime.
it was all miwa’s fault. and partially yours, for being so willing to come to her aid – at all times. when she asked you to accompany her to the bid party – just because she wanted to support mechamaru fresh in their new relationship and didn’t do too well in social situations – you had all but obliged. at the most, you would get a cheap shot and brownie points to get miwa to run the errands for the entire month.
except when it came to it, miwa wasn’t nervous at all, only because mechamaru had spent the past few weeks hyping her up to his pledge class. which left you alone, stuck to roam around until she was ready to leave at the end of the night.
the floor was sticky with beer, there was an almost rancid, putrid smell lingering in the air that you couldn’t pinpoint, and you were stuck with sixty of your peers – shitfaced to a point you didn’t even know was humanly possible.
and with miwa long gone, doing god knows what with mechamaru and you were stuck leaning against the fridge, bored out of your mind. that’s when he found you – pawing your way through the food.
his smell was the first thing that caught your attention, second to the fact that he was hovering over your shoulder, cheeks brushing against each other. it was almost minty and stark – almost eradicating the lingering smell of weed that was burning your nose.
the skin on his cheek was soft, featherlike when it brushed against yours.
“whatcha doing, dollface?”
you immediately curl your nose, turned off by the unnecessary sweetness. you had your fill of dirty frat boys during orientation week, three years ago, and knew damn well that you had to steer clear of whatever was happening here.
“playing where’s waldo, genius. i’m obviously looking for food.” you state.
you reach for the closest box, a perfectly cut slice of cake, encased in a wrap. the plastic is covered in messy scribbles on the top – spelling out satoru in loopy letters.
“you’re just going to eat someone else’s cake?” he asks.
“how do you know it’s not mine?”
“intuition.”
it’s only then that you stop yourself to look up at this stranger whispering in your ear, only to find glimmering blue eyes, peering over the top of a set of sunglasses. the sunglasses are god awful – even worse with the combination of the tanktop and the snapback he’s wearing backwards.
you swear there’s a faded, glittery pink lipstick mark indented at the top of his cheek.
“you-you’d be shocked.” you stutter, as you pull the box out of the fridge and place it on the counter.
he momentarily walks away – which is when you take the second to ogle him in full. a toned back, a tattoo on the top of his shoulder that you can’t entirely make out. white hair, veiny arms, and a silver necklace hanging against his collarbone.
he returns back, two forks in hand, before making a dramatic display of handing you one.
“for you, my sweet lady.”
“i’m not sure why you brought two forks. who said i was going to share with you?”
he grins, leaning his head back to laugh like a little kid, before he scoots closer to you – the sweet scent coming back.
“c’mon.”
he reaches for your hand, before lifting it to place it against his chest. you can feel his heart beating under the feeling of your fingertips, his eyes wide and expectant as he waits for and answer.
“do me a favor, yeah? let me share my cake with a pretty girl at a party. there’s only a limited amount of joys in this life.”
you scoff, before pulling your hand back.
“you’re corny.”
he shrugs.
“you’ll get used to it.”
you groan, as you slam your computer shut – the image of his shiny headshot staring back at you getting burned into your eyes.
stupid. stupid, stupid, stupid.
one stupid joke, a slice of cake, and somehow you woke up in his bed the next day being spooned by him. and one thing led to the next because he was somehow taking you to brunch, then settling his head in between your legs before dinner, and then back at your house the next day.
it was an arrangement at that point. the dinners, what happened in between, and the morning after.
you’re not sure what the terms and conditions are in a predicament like yours – with a guy like satoru. you know for a fact that he still flirts with other girls, because you’d see him walking with a different one every time you stopped at the coffee shop. but then he’d invite you to dinner, honey sweet words falling from his lips before he tucked you in for bed each night.
friends with benefits. but he buys you gifts and takes you to dinner. and calls you beautiful. comes to your house after frat parties, with the faintest scent of a flowery perfume on his neck that you swear you’re imagining.
letting him walk out of your apartment was your own personal tourture, of death by a thousand cuts, because every step farther away from you was closer to someone else.
and that sinking, deep rooted dread, only got worse as time went on.
you feel a hard smack against your head.
“do your fucking homework.”
--
satoru gojo has distinct features that you always find yourself staring at. a mole on his shoulder, a scar on his pointer finger, and the rings he wore. sometimes, you find yourself asking them about him.
you reach forward, locking your fingers in on the chain around his neck, and using it to pull him closer. it's of a little postage stamp, though the silver looks rusted – like he’s worn it to death. he’s quick to oblige, a warm kiss on your cheek, before you yank again.
“what, baby?” he whines.
“where’d you get your necklace?”
he leans back, looking down at the chain, before his eyes meet yours again. there’s a dim fluorescent glow coming in from the blinds of the window, sun far gone in the horizon, and it’s the only thing that makes this bearable.
that his piercing blue eyes somewhat subdued from the lack of light.
“you want it, princess?”
“what? no. i just like it. i wasn’t –”
it’s a boyish giggle that comes out of satoru’s mouth as he quickly unfastens the clasp from his neck before tangling it in his fist.
you’re not an idiot – because it’s his freezing cold fingers pulling your shirt over your head – before he pulls you into his lap.
this was one of satoru’s favorite things to do. pull you close, till you’re straddling him in his lap, and you can feel his breath tickling against his collarbone as he whispers sweet nothings to you.
you wonder if he can see your blush in the dim light. if that’s part of why he likes it – seeing the effect he has on you.
he reaches forward, pulling your hair to the side and pressing a kiss to your collarbone, before he fastens his silver necklace around your neck.
“you know. when i said i liked your necklace, i said i liked it on you. i wasn’t asking for it.”
“but i like seeing you wear it more.”
satoru’s eyes are focused as he fixes the tangles in the chain, letting the little charm hang right in the little divot where your collarbone ends. and then he brings his hands in around your face, nearly squishing the softness of your cheeks together, before he presses a kiss to your forehead.
“will you wear my hoodie?” he jokes.
you scoff.
“are we in sixth grade? also, it quite literally says ‘yuuta’s big’ on the sleeve. that’s not obvious at all.”
satoru rolls his eyes.
“you would love yuuta, though. he’s your pseudo little brother, because you’re with me, you know?”
you shake your head, as you crawl out of his lap, and reach for the water bottle on the side table. you try to ground yourself, head spinning as you try to decipher what that means – and tap your feet on the floor.
you can feel him at your side, his observant blue eyes burning holes into your skin, as you note the steady, almost cautious tone in his voice.
“you okay? something i said?”
you shake him off.
“yeah, yeah. sorry. got out of the mood there for a second, just have a lot to do this week.”
satoru hums, before bringing his hands around your torso, leaning his entire weight against you as he settles his chin into the crook of your neck.
“you ever think you work too hard, pretty girl?”
“working hard or hardly working?” you joke. even his corny jokes were rubbing off on you.
you hear satoru scoff, before he starts rubbing circles into the bare skin of your stomach, as the goosebumps start to trickle over your skin.
“oh, don’t be like that. you’re the smartest person i know.”
“is this a clever way to get into my pants?”
“no. it’s me telling you that i think you’re very intelligent, you’re very driven, and you don’t have to worry about if you’re working hard enough. i know the only breaks you take are to go to that dumb movie theater downtown with your grumpy friend or when you scream my name every –”
“satoru.” you whine.
“don’t say my name like that. it turns me on.”
you grin.
“satoru.” you hum, teasing him.
“fuck off.”
he pauses, before pressing a lingering kiss to the side of your neck.
“but really. you’re a clever, you’re pretty, and irritatingly very accomplished. slow down so i can catch up, okay?”
“that’s rich coming from you. mister three internships, two degrees in four years.”
it’s quiet.
“how’d you know that?” satoru asks.
you can hear the smile in his voice. and the dread pooling in your stomach.
“what?”
“how’d you know it was two degrees?”
“you-you told me.”
“no, i didn’t. i just got accepted a few weeks ago, i haven’t even told some of my friends yet.”
you groan, before bringing your hands up to your face. you bury your eyes into the sockets of your eyes, getting caught embarrassedly red handed.
“where?”
you sigh.
“i stalked you on linked in.”
satoru grins wide, before pulling you back onto the bed and into his embrace. you can hear his giggling in your ear as you try to pull away.
“oh, baby you didn’t.”
“i had to make sure i didn’t apply where you worked!”
“no, you didn’t. we don’t even work in the same field.”
“you don’t know! i could change my mind!”
satoru laughs, before leaning forward to press a quick kiss to your lips.
“you have a crush on me! angel, you should have just said so!”
you give him a hard push, before crossing your arms over your chest.
“quit teasing. so i’m a stalker! so what? i just want to make sure i’m not putting out for a loser. you could be coding some AI for the government for all i know and i don’t want to be –”
“okay, okay. relax. i’m just teasing, i just think it’s cute you keep tabs on me.”
you glare.
“i don’t like you.” you state.
he rolls his eyes, before flopping his head down on your pillow and tapping the space next to him. you crawl into the space, before nestling yourself into his arms. you can feel your brain spiraling – instant regret for saying too much, being too weird, too harsh, and not saying what you felt – as you focus on the feeling of his hands running through your hair.
“i can tell that the hamster in your brain is working overtime. just go to bed, okay?”
“okay, lock the door when you leave?”
“i don’t have plans tomorrow morning. if you could humble yourself to eat breakfast with me, i’d actually like that.”
you frown, stomach jolting in your guts.
he had never stayed for an arbitrary reason – like spending the night just to sleep next to you. you shut your eyes, burying your face deeper into the sweet smell of his skin, and throw the thought away.
“mimosas?”
“you want to drink that early in the morning?”
“it’s saturday. gives me a good kick to start my day.”
“aren’t mimosas made with champagne? i hate champagne. and it makes you really handsy.”
you smile.
“you like when i’m handsy.”
“i mean, yes. but we can just do pancakes and go to the library together so we can do work. i’ll keep you accountable and find you snacks when you get inevitably cranky. then when you come home all tired, we can be as handsy as we want. it’s more satisfying when you have to work for it.”
you groan, burying the complications of spending yet another day with him in the back of your head as you try to flutter your eyes shut – in futile attempts to quiet the thoughts racketing around in your mind.
“okay, okay whatever. we’ll see tomorrow, i just – i’m really tired right now and –”
“shut up, dollface. just sleep.”
--
you get invited to the alpha kappa psi formal. miwa – who found out from mechamaru, whose pledge class brother is very close with satoru’s little yuuta – said that satoru wanted you there.
then why didn’t he ask you?
you bite the bullet anyways, borrowing one of kugisaki’s pale blue slip dresses – and attend as mechamaru’s pledge brother – todo’s date – to get in.
he’s a strange guy, who doesn’t pay you too much attention. it’s one polite wave and a cardstock ticket he hands you before you don’t see him again for the rest of the night. and you’re stuck with miwa and mechamaru, who are bigger fans of pda than you are.
“how’s satoru, y/n?” mechamaru asks.
“ah. he’s good. you know as much as i do, right?”
you can feel yourself sweating.
would satoru leave if you said too much? if you embarrassed him in front of one of his brothers? did they know you guys had an…arrangement? was it an arrangement? were you seeing each other? why did they think he invited you?
“dunno. aren’t you guys really good friends?” mechamaru asks.
“um, yeah.”
“yeah, he was telling us you studied together at the library the other day. figured he’d want you to meet suguru and ieiri.”
suguru and ieiri.
“yeah. i’m gonna go get a drink. do you guys want anything?”
“i’m good, love. we’ll be here.” miwa states, giving a reassuring squeeze to your bicep before you drag your heels to the makeshift bar.
you walk over to the bar, straight to the open bottle of rosé that has your name on it, as you lean against the wall. you pour way too much into your flute, nearly spilling it over the back of your hand, as you curse.
“do you want help?”
you look up to find a boy looking at you, wide eyes, with his bangs sweeping down the side of his face. he has tired eyes, but it’s a seemingly bright smile he offers you.
“sorry, yeah. i’ll clean it up, i swear.”
“no, no. no problem.”
he hands you a handkerchief from his pocket, before he pulls your hand in his and wipes the excess pink stain on it. you cringe at the stain on the cloth before he tucks it back into his pocket.
“i’m sorry about that. that’s really kind of you, i just –”
“no problem! you seemed…kind of frustrated there. happy to help.”
you shoot him a polite smile, before nervously sipping – maybe a little too fast for comfort. but the warm feeling is enough to temporarily curb the nerves, which is perfect for your sake.
“are you a brother?” you ask.
“yeah! is this your first formal?”
“yeah. i’m seeing someone in your frat and he asked me to come. well, he didn’t ask me to come, he told someone else he wanted me to come so i came as one of the other brother’s date. but not really his date, because i haven't seen him since then. or the guy i’m talking to.”
he leans back, eyes wide.
“right. do you like him? if…if you mind me asking.”
“my date? i can’t even remember his name. he’s like a tall, muscular guy. man bun?”
“no, yeah. his name is todo, i figured that’s who you were talking about. i mean the other guy.”
“oh. well, yeah. but he’s so…i don’t know. he’s a frat guy. and a chronic flirt. the first time i met him he had a lipstick stain on his cheek. and he smells like girly perfume every time he comes to see me, so –”
he sucks his teeth in.
“idiot.” he murmurs.
“what?”
“no! oh my god, not you! i meant…me! just thought of something. gotta run for a second, i’ll be back.”
“wait, you didn’t even tell me your –”
you watch as he rushes off, in a speed walking fervor, as mechamaru and miwa join you at your side. they give you a polite smile, which you return, as you swirl the glass in your hand.
“mechamaru. do you know that guy who just walked away? tired looking, the long hair?”
“oh, yuuta. yeah, what about him?”
“yuuta?”
“yeah, you’ve never met him? he’s like gojo’s pride and joy.”
you sink against the wall, embarrassment coursing through you, as you down the rest of your glass. and then three more, which is accompanied by weary looks from miwa. and after finishing off the entire bottle – an hour and a half into the party without seeing satoru – you’re set on leaving.
and it’s only on your rageful stomp out the door, well past tipsy, that you find the godawful man of the hour, leaning against the wall.
it’s enough to fill you with a rage. because he’s leaning against the wall, shirt slightly unbuttoned, and smiling brightly at whichever girl he’s talking to. you’re almost positive that it’s probably her flowery perfume that you’re smelling on his neck at the time, that she’s who he sees when he’s not with you, and it’s like pins and needles in your stomach.
and you almost make your escape, before he catches you on your way out.
“y/n? wait, y/n!”
you’re one step out the door, before he grabs your bicep, and pulls back, giving you a bright grin.
“i didn’t know you were here yet. i’ve been waiting, come here, c’mhere.” satoru mumbles, quickly rushing you over to the group of three people standing by the door, who all turn their heads for you.
you groan as you turn to the group of them. it’s the same tired eyes as before – that you now know belong to yuuta – and two strangers you’ve never seen before. a guy almost as tall as satoru, with swooping bangs and a manbun, and the girl – who you can’t stand to look at, with perfect beach waves swooping past her shoulders.
and what you can’t help but notice is a sparkling, silver postage stamp necklace around her neck. the same one around yours, that you had been fidgeting with since satoru gave it to you weeks ago.
“here’s your drink, satoru.” the girl states, handing him a glass of white wine that he takes.
it’s enough to make your rage bubble to the surface.
“the lady of the hour, guys! this is y/n, she’s my –”
you scoff.
“are you kidding?”
“hm?”
“lady of the hour? for what, your jokes?”
you watch as satoru’s face drops, before he sets the glass of wine down on the closest table.
“huh? what do you mean? i wanted to introduce you to ieiri, i know you’re going to love her.”
you can feel the tears accumulating in your eyes, that you’re almost positive that satoru notices, because his face visibly droops even more, this time replaced with genuine concern that sends a pang in your chest that has you wrestling your wrist out of his hold.
“you…you’re so mean, satoru.”
“baby, what?”
“don’t…why are you calling me that? every morning you wake up next to me and you’re still not my baby. that’s not exactly fair. you smell like a different girl and you still…you still flirt with other people.” you whisper.
his eyes go wide.
“no, i –”
“every time you walk away i’m half convinced you’re just going to someone else you’re stringing along like me. i’m sitting there thinking about how you’ve walked hundreds of steps away from me hundreds of times and it feels like a thousand little cuts every time you do and it kills me that you don’t even care.”
you can feel that whatever is coming out is word vomit, like it’s started and now it won’t ever stop.
“i see you everywhere, because you literally come everywhere with me just to leave. any song you’ve sang is now our song, any movie, literally anything you’ve even touched. i can’t even wear certain clothes without thinking about how you complimented me in them and i’m stuck thinking about how you probably say that to everyone. you don’t even drink wine and you’re over here drinking some with this random girl at this party, when that’s my thing that we drink wine together. you gave her the same necklace as me, and you apparently asked me to come to but didn’t even tell me about to my face? then you sick your little frat brother to ask me if i like you just so you can….i don’t know, i don’t know what you’d do with that information!”
you watch as satoru pinches the bridge of his nose, only to turn to the three of them at his side, who are all shaking their heads dismissively.
“suguru. i fucking told you he had to be leaving something out.”
“well, i didn’t realize it was going to be like this, shoko. no wonder she won’t date him.”
you swallow hard, as you seem to sink deeper in the pits of your own embarrassment, which seems to be a record low.
“fuck. you…you said her name is shoko?”
geto offers you a smile.
“that’s right.”
“like satoru’s hometown friend? the…the lesbian?”
“that would be me.” she confirms.
you cringe.
“oh my god. i’m really sorry, i’m really drunk. i drank an entire bottle of wine after i accidentally talked to yuuta and i just –”
“well, i’d get drunk if i were you too. he smells like other girls? and flirts with them?” shoko asks.
“i do not! i don’t even know what you’re talking about. i didn’t even know she even liked me back till twenty minutes ago.”
“the necklace is a nice gesture. satoru, geto, and i all have these matching postage stamp necklaces from this shitty place in our hometown. we got them together when we graduated so we wouldn’t forget about what was important when we all go to college.”
you turn to satoru.
“and you just gave that to me?”
“well, i knew you’d take care of it.”
“that’s like…that’s like sentimental, satoru. you literally gave me your childhood best friends memento and that’s so-”
“well, obviously that seems like a little much if you think we’re just friends with benefits!”
you scoff.
“you’re the one who wanted to be friends with benefits.” you clarify.
“what are you talking about? you literally cringe away from any affection i give you!” satoru retorts.
“because you flirt with other girls!”
“not since you! why would i flirt with other people?”
“you tell me. i smell the perfume.”
satoru groans.
“that’s your perfume, dipshit. you left your hoodie at my house and it smells like you so sometimes i sleep next to it and then i smell like it. how do you not recognize your own smell?”
you pause.
“you do what?”
“not in a fucking weird way. i just miss you when you’re busy. you smell nice, it’s –”
“hopeless.” yuuta states, earning him a nod from suguru.
“you didn’t even ask me to come here with you.” you state.
“shoko had to be my date so she could come. i had to make yuuta drag maki in through a window because geto was his plus one. i just wanted you here so you could meet my childhood friends, who i care about. they’ve heard about you for so long that i just thought –”
“you talk to your friends about me?”
“an insufferable amount. though most of his agony seems self inflicted now, because he’s a fucking idiot.” shoko confirms.
“okay, let’s get y/n some water, yeah?” yuuta suggests, before shuffling the two of them off, to which satoru sends a grateful smile before turning back to you.
he crouches down a little, just so your eyes are level, as you frown at him.
“is this what that hamster in your brain is doing up there? overthinking literally everything?”
“you –”
“if you asked, i would have clarified for you. we’ve always been exclusive and if you talked to someone else while we were talking, i’m going to have to kill him.”
“don’t be stupid.”
“i’ll just send a threat! sign his emails up for scientology. he was talking to my girl!”
you glare at him.
“you…you’re so stupid, satoru. you confuse me so much and i just…you take up too much space. you’re everywhere – literally no part of me that you haven’t taken up and i just…”
satoru frowns, before pulling his hands around your face, and angling up by your chin to look at him.
“don’t give up now. it just got good.” he whispers.
“satoru.”
“cmon. let me lick all thousand of your cuts clean.”
“ew. you’re…you’re so gross, satoru.”
“okay, that was just a dirty joke. but let me make it up to you, really. i didn’t realize you…you were thinking all that. i thought you just liked me because i was sexy and because i eat your –”
“satoru!”
“please. let me into that hamster ball in your brain. i deserve some space.”
“it’s all boarded up. the hamster ball house burned down.” you groan.
he leans back, like he’s inspecting your face, before he presses a kiss to your forehead.
“dunno. i’m seeing some flickering lights in there. i can tell your hamster in there really wants me.”
“quit….quit calling me a hamster! you’re so…ugh. i have a headache and i’m drunk and i’m really confused and i just –”
satoru mimics a little salute, before he loops his hand around your waist and walks you towards the little bar.
“okay, test run. i’m on boyfriend duty. if this goes well enough, you give me a chance tomorrow.”
you squint your eyes at him.
“okay, water first. then i have two baby aspirin for you in my pocket. three kisses on the cheek if you won’t insult me after and a compliment if you won’t kill me.”
“really?”
“yuuta told me you downed a whole bottle. since you’re too mad to be handsy, you have a headache. but don’t worry, i came prepared. meaning i forced yuuta to find some baby aspirin or else. and also, kisses because you smell good and you’re wearing this pretty blue dress that’s the same color as my eyes and you’re about to meet my favorite people ever and you’re my favorite person ever, so this is a big deal.” satoru responds.
he’s rambling so hard that you feel like you can see the hamster in his mind working overtime.
--
“what’s the verdict?”
satoru’s voice is like a thousand bullets in your head as you smack him in the face, trying to silence the chattering coming out of his mouth.
“satoru. what…what time is it?”
“six in the morning. but it’s the next day and i need to know how my test run went.”
“your….what?”
satoru whines.
“no, no don’t tell me you’re too drunk to remember? my test run! to be your boyfriend?”
you groan, flickering your eyes open to the alarm clock on your bed, spelling out the time. 6:07 am.
“no, i remember. you need the answer at six in the morning when i’m hungover?”
“this is agony! i really get this whole thousand cuts thing now, this hurts. tell me.”
you push his face into the pillow, before mumbling it as quietly as you can.
“you pass.”
“huh?”
“you heard me. you passed. just…shut up, please.”
it’s his giggles you hear before sleeping and a warm kiss on your forehead, before you pass out again.

I just finished my first draft for Fantasy Fic Fest and I’m still in a mood.
I had two ideas for FFF and one didn’t make the cut so I’m gonna write y’all a little snippet and ask if you’d want more? (Also I’m committed to academia Carlos and I won’t back down.)
Pairing: Carlando
The house was dirt cheap and that’s why Carlos rented it. He had been living in house shares and flats for 10 years and maybe the fact that this house was the same price as some of the studio apartments in town should have told him something, but he had allowed himself to be taken in by the original wood floors and the high ceilings and the landlord who was so desperate for someone to move in that he waived the security deposit.
Carlos moves in on a Sunday and his first day at the university is on Wednesday, but he’s not unpacked until two weeks later and that’s when he really starts to notice things.
Until then he had been able to brush it off. He didn’t remember putting his glasses down on the counter, but he couldn’t really remember where anything was since it was mostly boxes and clutter anyway. He doesn’t think he left his egg pan in the kitchen floor, but maybe he knocked it off in a rush and he just doesn’t remember because it’s been such a whirlwind of a new semester and a new school. And he’s really just not sleeping well. It’s the old house, he tells himself. He’s not used to old house noises. And neither is Piñon.
By the end of September, he has to admit to himself that something is wrong. He’s a man of science, but there is no scientific explanation as to why one room of his house is 30 degrees colder than all the others every though he bought a space heater for it. He doesn’t know why the office doors slam shut randomly. The things in the kitchen rattle incessantly if he leaves anything in the sink. Piñon shivers underneath his bed randomly.
He admits to himself that something is very wrong, but he’s embarrassed by it and doesn’t want to be seen as a kook by his colleagues so he keeps it to himself.
He goes to parties and dinners and faculty meetings and he says his new house is nice and full of character and when he agrees to host a group of PhD candidates for an award thing dinner with a catered meal, he doesn’t expect to learn that he’s living in the town’s haunted house.
It’s a tall PhD candidate named George who is wearing a fucking bow tie that leans over and says, “You know that ghost show on YouTube said once that they wanted to do an episode here. Since you’re on the most haunted list for the Northeast.” He looks supremely proud of himself.
Carlos barely keeps it together long enough to hand him a glass of tea and he’s barely out of the room when the tea carafe is tipped over and Carlos has to save it. Fucking haunted fucking house, of course.
After the students clear out, Carlos googles his own address and stares as result after result comes up and he reads in horror. Mysterious deaths. Suicides. Missing children. Hauntings. Carlos is so confused because the most that he’s experienced is his belongings being moved and a severe lack of sleep.
He clicks over to videos and there’s a clip of the cutest curly haired human being he’s ever seen in his life. He’s standing in front of Carlos’ house but everything is covered in snow so it’s not recent.
“And this is the ultimate. Cloaked in mystery and legend, no one has ever been granted permission to film inside, so we only have very limited data and a few photographs.” His adorable little Californian accent says.
Carlos is entranced and before he can stop himself, he’s looking at the YouTube channel - Lando. His name is Lando. And Carlos is emailing him with an attached picture of himself and Piñon on the front steps the day he moved in. He tells him that Lando is more than welcome to come and look around, but no cameras.
He shuts his laptop down, embarrassed that the draw of Lando was that great. He just needs to go on a date. Get laid. Stop thinking about beautiful YouTubers who make ghost shows.
He means to fall asleep immediately, but Piñon is shaking again and it’s very cold and maybe Lando does need to come and sort out the haunting.

News flash: I got to finish the thing I was procrastinating on So damn hard these last few weeks and finally got a BETTER idea on what’s expected of me (cause apparently doing science means your eyes are blindfolded and you got to find… oh wait, you don’t know what exactly you want to find, but day by it feels like the blindfold becomes more see through thankfully). And now before the metaphor sours. HeheI met my advisor and showed her data! (And I even forgot my laptop at home today lol how even!)

Now I just hope to get some of my upcoming assignments done as well as finish studying for my Dev Neuro final.
My therapy session went well today! I hadn’t realised how much better things have been from a few months ago but taking it into perspective today made me realise that and it’s awesome!
And coming from someone who was struggling to get to lab from her bed this morning, this is good!
Groceries are so cheap in town right now, it’s epic! Stay in your own towns for thanksgiving y’all, it’s savings time!

Imitation of the cryptocurrency is not feasible as the whole system is based on tough core math and cryptographic problems. Only those people who can resolving these problems can make modifications to the database which is beside impossible. The deal once verified enters into the data source or the block chain which can not be turned around after that EU.
Cryptocurrency is just electronic money which is created with the assistance of coding method. It is based upon peer-to-peer control system. Allow us now understand just how one can be benefitted by trading in this market.

Also the Supreme Court appointed an Unique Investigating Group on Black Cash advised that trading in such money be discouraged. While China was reported to have actually banned some its biggest Bitcoin trading operators, nations such as the UNITED STATES and Canada have laws in place to restrict supply trade in cryptocurrency.
What is Cryptocurrency?
Cryptocurrency, as the name recommends, utilizes encrypted codes to effect a purchase. These codes are acknowledged by various other computer systems in the user community. As opposed to utilizing fiat money, an on the internet ledger is upgraded by regular accounting entries. The purchaser's account is debited and also the seller's account is attributed with such currency.
Exactly How are Transactions Made on Cryptocurrency?
When a transaction is initiated by one individual, her computer system sends a public cipher or public key that interacts with the personal cipher of the person receiving the currency. If the receiver approves the deal, the initiating computer connects a piece of code onto a block of a number of such encrypted codes that is understood to every user in the network. Special users called 'Miners' can affix the added code to the publicly shared block by solving a cryptographic challenge and earn more cryptocurrency in the process. As soon as a miner verifies a deal, the record in the block can not be altered or erased.
BitCoin, as an example, can be utilized on mobile devices as well to establish purchases. All you need do is let the receiver check a QR code from an app on your mobile phone or bring them in person by using Near Field Communication (NFC). Keep in mind that this is very similar to ordinary on the internet pocketbooks such as PayTM or MobiQuick Acquire Bitcoin EU.

Unlike paper currency, no Central Bank controls inflationary pressures on cryptocurrency. Purchase journals are stored in a Peer-to-Peer network. Financial institutions, on the other hand, shop deal data in central repositories which remain in the hands of exclusive individuals worked with by the firm.
How Can Cryptocurrency be used for Money Laundering?
The very reality that there is no control over cryptocurrency purchases by Central Banks or tax obligation authorities indicates that transactions can not constantly be labelled to a certain individual. This suggests that we do not understand whether the transactor has acquired the shop of worth legitimately or not. The transactee's store is likewise suspect as no one can inform what consideration was provided for the currency got.
What does Indian Law State concerning such Virtual Currencies?
Virtual Money or cryptocurrencies are generally seen as items of software program and hence classify as a good under the Sale of Item Act, 1930.
Being an excellent, indirect tax obligations on their sale or purchase as well as GST on the solutions supplied by Miners would certainly apply to them.
There is still quite a bit of complication regarding whether cryptocurrencies stand as money in India as well as the RBI, which has authority over clearing up and settlement systems and also pre-paid negotiable tools, has absolutely not accredited buying and selling by means of this medium of exchange.
Any kind of cryptocurrencies gotten by a local in India would therefore be governed by the Fx Management Act, 1999 as an import of items right into this nation.
India has actually enabled the trading of BitCoins in Unique Exchanges with integrated safeguards for tax evasion or money-laundering tasks as well as enforcement of Know Your Consumer norms. These exchanges consist of Zebpay, Unocoin as well as Coinsecure.
Those investing in BitCoins, as an example, are liable to be charged on dividends received.

hacker voice: | margot & nell
LOCATION: pat’s place. PARTIES: @g0t-ri5h and @nelllraiser. SUMMARY: two snoops get snooped a la spiderman meme, and a deal is struck.  CONTENTS: mass poisoning, food poisoning.
alternatively:
Tumblr media
Margot was simply curious, or obsessed, depending how you looked at it. She knew what had happened at Pat’s Place was no accident. It was a feeling she could not shake, a feeling that had kept her awake, tossing and turning the past week. Now that the sun had gone down, Margot felt a spur of energy and couldn’t stand the thought of another sleepless night. So she’d put on her warmest coat and backpack, and made her way to Pat’s. When she arrived, she found it plastered with caution tape that no one had bothered to remove, and why would they? This place would never reopen. Margot was saddened at the thought. She’d only been there once, a burger last December when she’d come to tour the university. Margot hadn’t enjoyed the tour, but the burger had been delicious. She shook herself from the memory. She wasn’t here to reminisce, she was here to investigate. Margot rounded the building and came to the back alley, where a feral rat greeted her with red eyes. She hissed at it jokingly, watched it scamper away and out of sight. She leaned against the brick of Pat’s back wall and slumped down to sit. Her laptop out, she booted it up. Then -- footsteps. Margot could hear them coming closer, seeing the outline of who, or what was coming her way. “Hello?” She called out.
Nell hadn’t realized that Remmy wouldn’t want to go back to the site of the poisoning, too caught up in getting to the bottom of everything to think that her friend might not want to revisit the site of such a traumatic event. Who in their right mind would? Then again...what did that say about Nell? Shaking that thought from her head, she pushed the memories of choking on air, being unable to breathe, and ultimately passing out from the poison from her mind. She needed to be focused if she wanted to find anything of worth here, even if the sight of that Pat’s Place sign set her slightly on edge. Remmy had mentioned something about a man in the alley, and that would be the witch’s first stop. Creeping under the caution tape, Nell froze as she heard a hissing sound, body tensing as she tried to determine whether or not it belonged to a threat. But someone who’d poisoned an entire restaurant wouldn’t return to the scene of the crime, right? That’d just be irresponsible. Nevertheless, she approached with a wary gait, brows furrowed in confusion as she saw the face of a girl illuminated in the glow of a laptop. “Who are you?” she asked with a frown, not entirely sure what to make of the sight.
A voice. Margot was relieved by the sound, not that she believed in monsters or ghosts or anything. “I’m Margot.” She closed her laptop hastily, not wanting the stranger to see what she had been doing, or planning to do. She knew how suspicious she must look, crouched in the back alley at the site of a triple murder. Margot hoped it was not some detective she was face-to-face with, or someone who would question why she was there and what she was doing. What she had planned wasn’t entirely legal and may be considered a felony in some states. Margot squinted through the darkness, trying to make out the person’s face. “Hey, I know you.” Margot recognised her from her profile picture on Facebook. “Penelope isn’t it?” Nell had told Margot about Faetal Attraction; how exclusive it was and how she should avoid it. It made Margot want to go there even more. Like a moth to a flame. “What are you doing here?” Margot said rather rudely, as if Nell had interrupted her.
Margot. Nell remembered the name from their online interactions as well, and now that she looked closer at the other girl, it did look like the little picture that had been next to her messages. “Yeah, Penelope.” It seemed too ambiguous and tense of a moment to mention that most people just called her Nell. The witch’s frown only deepened at Margot’s tone, eyes narrowing slightly as her arms crossed over her chest. “What are you doing here?” she echoed back out of pure stubbornness. In truth, she wasn’t all that opposed to revealing what she was looking into, but she also didn’t know much about the girl before her other than she was relatively new to town, and a college student. It didn’t exactly provide any reasons as to why Nell should trust her or not. And what was with the laptop? Margot had mentioned computer science online, but who just decided to set up camp in the back alley of a recently poisoned restaurant? “You a fan of Pat’s?” Had the girl been here for the poisoning?
Margot wanted to snap back, an ‘I asked you first’ retort, but she resisted, knowing that it would get her nowhere. “I was just - I don’t know, interested? I want to know what happened.” Margot didn’t want to give out more than that, not knowing what the girl’s intentions in being here might be. Hell, Nell could even be the notorious poisoner for all Margot knew. “Your turn.” Margot mimicked Nell’s stance, arms crossed in opposition, staring her down in the same manner, “What are you doing here?” She waited for Nell’s answer, hoping it was something good. This interaction was beginning to sound like an interrogation. Margot felt like she was on trial, as if she were guilty of something, maybe she was. “I came here once, a while back. I wasn’t poisoned, lucky for me I guess.” Margot looked grimly at the back door to the restaurant. “It’s sad though, ‘was a pretty good meal. I would’ve liked to come back.” She turned her attention back to Nell, “Were you there, you know, when it happened?” Margot had only heard about the incident through the newspapers, and that had been horrific enough.
Nell gave Margot a once over, trying to glean whatever she could from the girl’s stance and body language that might aid Nell’s decision of whether or not to trust her for the time being. “Can’t I be interested too?” she asked back, though this time it had less of an edge to it, a hint of tease entering the words. Nell was fairly certain Margot was telling the truth about not being poisoned, as she couldn’t remember seeing anyone that looked like Margot at the grand re-opening. “Yeah, it was good before the whale shark crushed it.” Had Margot been here long enough to know about the real strangeness of White Crest? “I was here.” There wasn’t any real need to mention she was poisoned, right? Nell hated admitting to the fact, as if it somehow made her appear weaker, more vulnerable, so she’d keep it to herself for the moment. “So you’re just nosing around? Is that it?” That’s what ‘interested’ meant, didn’t it? After all, Nell herself had given the vague excuse on many on occasion when she was doing something she most likely shouldn’t have been doing.
The distrust in Nell’s eyes was obvious. Margot knew she wasn’t going to get any real information from her, at least not yet. “A whale shark, that’s how he died, right? The owner? I think I read it somewhere.” She had, just a few days ago, using multiple search engines and a small hack that let her into the White Crest Press’ database. People needed to encrypt their data more thoroughly. Margot had found more while she was there; the reporter’s notes on last week’s tragedy, the names of the deceased. It had made her more determined to figure out the mystery. It was worse to hear that Nell had actually experienced it, firsthand. “That sounds awful.” Margot said no more, sensing that it was a subject better left untouched. She couldn’t stand this beating around the bush any longer, it was getting them nowhere, “I was going to connect to this place’s wifi router.” Connect. That was a better word than hack. It sounded far less illegal, “Maybe find out if they kept receipts of everyone who ate here on that day, trace the credit cards used, or even see what employees were working at the time.” Margot’s plan was a broad one, one that she hadn’t considered greatly before coming down here.
“Yep,” Nell confirmed, wondering whether or not Margot believed the story of the whale shark. There were still a good chunk of White Crest residents about it even after having seen fish rain from the sky with their own two eyes. “I guess sushi was their real competitor all along.” Was it ill to joke about the dead? Probably. But Nell was bad at boundaries, and she hadn’t known Pat that personally. “But yeah, I don't imagine it was a fun way to go.” The mention of connecting to the router was already sparking Nell’s interest, though. Wasn’t the thing password protected? “That’s handy.” She took another step closer to Margot, her intrigue growing larger by the second as Margot listed off all sorts of information she could apparently obtain. Another thought came to her mind. “What about cameras? Could you also see who was around?” Specifically a well-dressed man in this very alley way that tipped his hat to my friend, was her unspoken addition to that request.
Margot sniggered at the pun, “At least death by sushi is an unique way to go. More exciting than a heart attack or pneumonia.” Margot didn’t think anyone around here died via heart attack, or any natural cause for that matter. Fish deaths might be more common than she even knew. As Nell took a step forward, Margot opened her laptop back up. There was no point in hiding it now. Margot thought about Nell’s question for a moment. It was admittedly, a better idea than her own. “If they had the camera feed transmitting to a harddrive or computer inside, it should be no problem.” Margot got to work, opening up her cracking software. “Looks like Pat was too cheap for free wifi. That would’ve made this easier,” Still, she’d only have to run a basic dictionary sweep to get the wifi password. Margot didn’t speak for a few moments, deep in concentration. The password: bigkahuna543. Margot nudged the screen so Nell could see the result. “Original.” Margot commented. She entered the password and scanned for devices, finding a server connection that looked like their target. “And, we are in.” Margot brought the server up remotely on her screen. They were now looking at the camera feed. “When was the poisoning?”
“We can only hope for such an interesting death,” Nell joked back in a rather dry tone. At one time, Nell had been a victim of the folly of youth, and the sense of invincibility that came with being young. After all, she’d had an incredibly lucky streak when it came to escaping deathly situations by the skin of her teeth. But that had shifted after Bea’s death. Now, she couldn’t help but feel that she’d meet a bloody end some day. It was only a matter of time, just as it was for most everyone. There wasn’t time to think about all that now, though. She only vaguely understood what it was Margot was saying about all this tech stuff, but it sounded promising. “You really should meet my friend, Winston. They’re a giant ass computer nerd.” A pleased and vindicated grin came over Nell as she saw the product of Margot’s work displayed on the screen, suddenly much more invested in this girl and what she was delivering. “That was beautiful,” she praised before carrying on. “The thing started at seven, but what I’m looking for probably happened around a half hour later— in the back alley. A well-dressed man with a hat.”
“Winston.” Margot repeated, “I’ll keep their name in mind.” It might be nice to know another techie in town, they seemed so few and far between around here. “Okay, so we’ll start the footage from seven, go from there.” Margot changed the time and date stamps to match. They were accessing three camera feeds, one inside the restaurant and two externally. Margot began the clip, watched as the horrific event unfolded inside. She could make out Nell, though the footage was grainy. Margot looked towards the girl now, swallowing a lump that had formed in her throat. Perhaps seeing this again would cause her to relive it. “I’ll skip ahead.” Margot whispered, feeling as though speaking at a higher decibel would be insensitive. She fast forwarded. It was difficult to watch the chaos ensue, even more so at two times speed. The panicked expressions on each of the diners faces would be ingrained in Margot’s mind for at least a few weeks. Twenty minutes or so into the recording, she hit play. It was now the aftermath of the tragedy, medics and body bags. Then, just as Nell had predicted, movement on one of the external camera angles. The back alley, almost exactly where they sat right at this very moment. Margot stayed silent, as they watched.
“I can point you their way after all this, if you want,” Nell said with a shrug. Of course...it might be best not to mention the hacking outright to Winston. Not when her friend worked for the police, still. As the poisoning began to replay itself, Nell’s jaw tightened, momentarily fixated on her own form going limp, eventually losing consciousness. Her eyes settled on Bea for a fleeting moment before she realized she couldn’t watch her sister die again, not after the first time. But watching Jared, Remmy, and the other assorted faces wasn’t any better, anxiety clawing its way up her throat at the thought of her loved ones dying. Instead, she focused on the outside where Remmy said they’d seen the suspicious man. “There he is!” Nell practically leaped towards the screen, trying to get a closer look. Here was the key to figuring out what the fuck had happened, and whether or not she was inadvertently responsible for what had happened at Pat’s. Squinting at the grainy picture, she was dismayed to find that she didn’t recognize the man. But maybe she knew someone that would. “Can you send a shot of that to me? His face and everything?”
Margot zoomed in on the unknown person. A man, brown hair, average build, not someone she had seen around town, and it seemed that Nell didn’t recognise him either. “You don’t know him?” Margot asked, just to be sure. There wasn’t much to make out, his features were obscured by the poor quality of the footage. Was he the one responsible for such chaos? Were they looking at the face of a murderer? Margot clipped the image of him in the alley, a full body shot and a few close ups of his face. “Type in your email.” Margot turned the computer in Nell’s direction and waited for her to enter her address before hitting send. Nell had a bigger stake in this investigation than Margot did. Margot just wanted answers. Nell needed them. “What’re you going to do? You know, when you figure out who he is?”
Nell continued to scrutinize the picture of the anonymous man, trying to wrack every inch of her brain to remember if she’d seen him anywhere near the Ring or not. But it was fruitless. “I don’t know him.” There was only a tinge of frustration to the words before her tone shifted into something harder, and a plan began to hatch. “But I might know someone who does.” She’d been planning to hunt down the rest of the big Ring names anyway, might as well ask them if they recognized the photo while she was at it. Her phone pinged, and she glanced at the screen, confirming that she’d gotten the picture as the corner of her lips twitched upwars in satisfaction. Then she looked at Margot, taking in the girl in front of her. She couldn’t be any older than Nell, and it was hard to tell if she was familiar with the supernatural or not. Maybe she was simply good at hiding it. Either way, Nell didn’t want to take the risk. “I’m gonna make sure he doesn’t do it again. Or anything like it.”
Nell seemed satisfied with Margot’s work and she was glad to be of service. This hack had proved advantageous for her too, now one step closer to uncovering this town’s secrets. Yet Margot wasn’t satisfied; “I usually charge people for doing work like this.” Margot explained as she began to pack up her equipment. “But, I’d be willing to waive my regular fee, if you promise to keep me in the loop.” Margot had no leverage in this scenario, she’d already done what Nell wanted, but she had a feeling this wouldn’t be the last time Nell would need her help. A partnership could benefit both of them. “I want to find that guy as much as you.”
It made sense that Margot would charge, after all a girl had to eat. Nell had already been thinking about how useful it would be to have someone like Margot helping with this entire thing, but at the mention of money...she wasn’t entirely sure how feasible that would be with her current situation. Then the mention of a waiving came along, and an eager expression quickly replaced her previously neutral one. “I think I could do that. You can tell me a bit more about what you do, and I can tell you a bit more about what I’m doing.” And if Margot was passionate about finding this guy along with her, Nell wasn’t going to ask too many questions. But she did have just one. “Why do you want to find him?”
Margot hesitated. Would her reason for being here make her sound insane? A kook? She took a deep breath. “Ever since I moved here, I have this feeling. Like I’m missing out on something -- like there’s some big secret I’m not privy to.” She looked at Nell, gauging her response to the confession. “That’s why I want to find him. Not just for those poor bastards who died last week, but for me. I want to know the truth.” It was a selfish reason, but it felt right to be honest. She needed Nell to trust her.
Nell matched Margot’s hesitation, knowing just how well knowledge of the supernatural could make or break someone’s life. It was a hard line to walk. If you didn’t know enough, you might just waltz into a vampire’s lair and become a midnight snack. But if you knew too much...it sucked you in and never let you go. Made you realize that the world was full of things that were trying to kill you and everything you loved, and that there was only so much you could do to combat it. But maybe Margot didn’t need to know everything. Maybe they could find that balance. “Alright,” Nell replied simply, giving the other girl a single nod. “Then it’s a deal.”

TOP IT COMPANIES OF NEW DELHI-NCR
Although Delhi is not on the list of four cities that have made a name for themselves in the information technology (IT) industry and their economy is thriving in the sector, it is fast catching up. Leading the list is, of course, Bangalore, India’s silicon region, followed closely by Hyderabad, Kennai and Pune where most of the major software and ITES companies are located. As for Delhi, it has hundreds of software companies but not a few that make it a top league.
Delhi, the capital of India, is proud of all the government offices and buildings in India. In addition, it is also famous for its rich culture and heritage. From old buildings to new supermarkets and offices, Delhi has a combination of everything. However, most people do not know that Delhi / NCR also participate in many top IT companies in Delhi, India and, therefore, make it a city for everyone.
It is important to install the NCR to better understand the growth of the sector. Noida and Gurgaon are both satellite cities and sub-states of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, respectively, with a strong and strong IT industry to grow. Noida, which is very close to Delhi, is home to many software companies, many of which operate outside the software development park. The availability of trained professionals from various engineering centers in Noida and the suburbs that provide cheap labor has attracted the industry to the city and is now giving Bangalore the money to buy!
Gurgaon has grown in recent years not only back in the real estate sector but IT or the BPO industry is equally responsible for the city’s tremendous growth and development. Nearly all major BPO industries such as Genpact (which was the first), Convergys, HCL, Accenture, EXL, Wipro and many other telecommunications facilities fill a few hundred to a few thousand seats operating outside the Gurgaon glazed glass towers. The availability of a large number of English-speaking workers, cheaper power (and increasingly growing) and the ‘useful time’ separation between the United States and Europe and India, have had a significant impact on local economic growth. Delhi itself has specialized experience in web development and design as a unique marketing point. You can find the best web services competing with your counterparts in the West and India at very competitive prices. All web services games include design, development, web marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), static and dynamic websites and ecommerce websites and solutions. Money stands in Delhi in terms of web development and without a doubt; you can get the highest amount of money spent.

summary: Bad news is Bucky fucked up big time and now you’re seriously injured. Good news is Natasha knows the perfect way to apologize.
pairing: Bucky Barnes x Natasha Romanoff x Reader
words: 3,349
trigger warnings: Sub Bucky, dom Natasha, orgasm denial, mommy kink, canon-level violence, cock rings.
notes/other: This was done for @lesbian-deadpool ‘s pride parade challenge. My prompt was “Please don’t threaten me with a knife. I’ll get horny” and has been bolded within the fic!!
ask box / masterlist / commission info / ko-fi
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bucky Barnes has fucked up. Bucky Barnes has not only fucked up, but he has also been the root cause of a sizable gash in your right shoulder and an entire patch of skin being burned off that starts at your left calf and curls around you until it reaches your belly button.
He knows this. He knew this before the bomb blew up, and he certainly knows this now, as Natasha paces around their shared room and chews off chunks of skin from her bottom lip.
“You fucking dumbass!” She yells. “You knew you were defying orders, but no! Of course, you had to be the fucking hero.” She pauses to sigh before going back to her incessant movements. “And now you’ve injured the best fucking hacker we have. Do you know how much political capital I had to burn to get her out there with us?”
Natasha’s teeth are barred, eyes firey and skin red from lack of oxygen. Bucky’s never seen her this pissed, and he’s terrified. And a little hard. But mostly terrified.
“I’m so sorry,” He tries to reconcile. “I didn’t-”
It doesn’t work, and before he can finish his thought Natasha’s got the sharpened dagger she keeps strapped to her thigh and points at the center of his chest with her free hand pressed into the back of his head.
Bucky smirks despite how much he knows he’s about to get his ass beat. “Please don’t threaten me with a knife. I’ll get horny.”
Despite herself, Natasha openly laughs. “As if you’re not hard already.”
There’s a beat of silence before she goes back to scowling at the love of your life. Bucky gulps as he notices her face changing from amused to enraged.
“You’re a fucking dumbass if you think I’m dumb ass enough to believe that bullshit,” she sighs with the knife pointed to Bucky’s chest. She doesn’t know whether she’s exhausted herself after, what, more than five hours of screaming post-five day non-stop mission? or just needs a break. “I’m going to check up on her.” Bucky stands, but sits back down once he sees Natasha’s glare. “You stay here, and don’t move a fucking muscle.”
Natasha finds you easily in the large hospital wing- you’re the only patient without a single attendant. Her heart almost stops, thinking that between when they had arrived and that very moment your heart had stopped beating and your skin had gone cold. As she gets closer, though, she sees you’re awake and doing something on your laptop. She watches you for a second as you silently and furiously pluck strings of code together, trying to figure out exactly what you’re typing and how your eyes move back and forth so fast.
A crash from a room far away breaks the spell. You both look over to see what’s wrong (turns out, nothing), and you spot her as she goes closer to the curtain. Still, you don’t speak until she’s seated next to you and taking a bite out of your uneaten grilled cheese.
“So, what brings you down to these parts of town?”
She shrugs, ignoring your bad joke in favor of another bite. “Just wanted to check up on you.”
You laugh a little, just a sharp exhale through your nostril. Still, you wince in pain. Natasha notices but doesn’t comment. “Ya know, exactly as well as one can hope after having a bomb explode in your face.”
She takes a look at your vital signs, all good, before answering. “Yeah, I mean…” a pause. The quiet air seems heavy as she rubs her eyebrows. “I still don’t know how to apologize. Barnes made the wrong call, and he was totally in the wrong, but-”
“Then why isn’t he apologizing to me?”
Natasha hasn’t spent much time with you, and has a hard time knowing when you’re joking or not. Your sense of humor is even drier than hers, but she can sense a hint of mischief behind your eyes as you stare her down.
“I made him stay in our room.”
“Like a child? Is he in time out or something?”
“If he’s gonna act like one, I’m gonna treat him like one.”
“Except when it comes to holding him accountable for his actions…”
She laughs outwardly now. “Oh, trust me. He’s going to apologize.”
You close your laptop and push the tray attached to the uncomfortable hospital bed. Carefully you fold your body and lean to the side. At a few points the burn rubs into the sheets the wrong way or “And how is he going to do that?”
Natasha’s caught on now. She relaxes into the plastic chair, failing to hide her displeasure at the high-pitched noise it makes as she places both feet on top of the blanket obviously taken from your own apartment. It’s thick with fringe, a desert scene woven onto it. The mix of warm colors seems to reflect your wit, sparks running across your skin with every sarcastic comeback and cheap dig. It stands out against the drab, gray-blue of the room, almost as bold as you.
“I don’t know, we’ll figure something out,” she smirks. “Trust me, I can handle him.”
“Can,” you ask, firmly meeting her piercing gaze with your own. “Or will?”
Natasha smiles wider than Tennessee. “Will.”
You’re discharged about a month later, the burn being more serious than initially guessed and the lung damage causing you to wake up in the middle of the night not being able to breathe multiple times. You still have trouble going up stairs and standing up for long periods of time, and the burns still hurts like hell, and the gash in your shoulder won’t allow you to carry a backpack or sit up without pain, but at least you were cleared to be out on your own again. It’s nice, to say the least. Being in a place without privacy isn’t something you particularly like, and being at the whim of nurses and doctors doesn’t please you all that much either.
Still, it’s almost nice to see someone right as you’re about to leave with your heavy duffel bag and your equally heavy backpack. It’s less nice when you realize it’s the reason you were in the hospital in the first place.
Before you can tell him to fuck off, though, he immediately starts spewing any apology can think of.
“I understand what I did was wrong and I’m so so so so sorry and I haven’t stopped thinking about how I literally put you out of work for a month and yes Tony did yell at me about his best hacker not being able to work and I’m still so sorry and Natasha yelled at me in four different languages and I’m pretty sure one of them was Latin and please I just want to help you bring up your stuff because it’s the least I can do and-” he pauses to inhale, lungs starved of oxygen - similar to you being starved of the sweet, sweet silence of being alone. You feel it’s easier to just let him help you, let him take up your heavy crap and then tell him to fuck off until you have to explain something tech-y to him in a meeting.
You shrug, dropping your duffel bag on the ground and handing him the backpack. He carefully grabs both of them and silently follows you into the elevator, leaning against the back wall as you push the button corresponding to your floor and lean against the wall. The jagged wound doesn’t feel as bad as when you got it, but you still let out a small groan when it hits the cold material.
Bucky, desperate to relieve you of all the pain you’ve ever felt and will ever feel, tries to start a conversation. “So, the high thirties. That’s what, the section for the computer nerds?”
You almost make a joke about being able to turn on a laptop not making you a computer nerd, but you laughing too much would hurt and might cause you to have a coughing fit, which Bucky would have to save you from and then you’d be in debt to him.
“Yeah, computer science-related stuff,” you sigh, wincing a little. “Heads of computer science-stuff actually. Statistics, data-analysis, computer science.”
The rest of the ride to your apartment is quiet, almost painfully so. Each time you try to start a conversation Bucky seems to avoid answering with more than a few words, his eyes never meeting your own.
Still, he follows dutifully into your bedroom where you fall short of instructing him to place your things across from your messy bed – your vocal cords unable to move as you spy the most beautiful woman you’ve ever met in front of you.
You don’t know what to say when you see Natasha leaning on your desk, staring at your knick-knacks and loose papers. For some reason you almost offer her a cup of tea.
“Now, James here,” she gestures to the man behind you, who has since placed your bag gingerly on your bed and is now standing awkwardly in the middle of your bedroom. “Has to find some way to make up for his horrendous mistake back during the mission.”
You gulp and fidget with your hands as you speak. “It’s fine, really, I’m o-“
Natasha removes one hand from her dress pants and holds it up to stop you. “No, it is not okay. I don’t like to leave the mistakes I’m responsible for,” she glares at Bucky, who you do not see but still know is cowering like a puppy whose peed on the carpet. “Left uncleaned. I request that you meet Bucky and I in our apartment tonight after my meeting with the Secretary of State. Say, about eight?”
You nod, mouth too dry to form speech.
Natasha smiles, walking behind you and wrapping a possessive arm around Bucky’s middle. “Perfect, see you then.”
And not with a shout, but with a whisper, they are both gone.
At 7:58:36 you find yourself dressed in the easiest thing to slip on without too much pain – a large t-shirt and some athletic shorts you’ve had since you played volleyball in college – standing in front of the door to Natasha and Bucky’s shared apartment.
Right before you can knock your phone buzzes with a text, one from Natasha that tells you the door is unlocked and that she and Bucky are just in the bedroom.
With that, you take a deep breath, and step inside.
Bucky’s kneeling with his upper half hunched forward and his hands tied behind his back. The only thing keeping him in such an uncomfortable position being Natasha’s heel pressed into the small of his spine.
“Now,” she begins to tell them. You’re sitting on the edge of their large bed, hands already twisting in the sheets. Maybe it’s nervousness, maybe it’s anticipation, maybe it’s fear. Something flutters in your chest at the curve of Natasha’s lips around her words, of her bare face vulnerable and her messy bun falling with every movements of her jaw. “Bucky here needs to apologize,” she looks down at him with a playful smile. “Don’t you baby.”
“Yes, Mommy,” he says immediately.
Natasha pushes down harder onto him, a painful position as his body as nearly folded in half by the woman he loves the most. “Now,” she moves her foot so that it’s pushing on his ass. “Go tell our friend here that you’re sorry.”
She undoes the binds on Bucky’s hands with the heel of her red-bottoms, the cherry-red ropes falling to the ground in total silence.
You suck in a breath as Bucky shifts to begin crawling the what feels like mile-long clearance between where you’ve sat down on the edge of the king-sized bed and the throne-like seat where Natasha has chosen to seat herself. His head is hung and he avoids eye contact, staring at the floor instead. It’s than that you notice he’s wearing a collar – a thick, matte leather one, BABY embroidered in thick, grey lettering just above an o-ring.
For the moments between when Bucky stops in front of you and when he spreads your bruised knees, some part of your brain tries to convince the rest of it that you have no idea what is going on. You have no idea what to think, what to do. That the pair of them have all of this messed up, that they misread any body language you’d contorted yourself into. It pleads like a petulant child for you to call the whole thing off, to tender your resignation and run off to some Eastern European country where no one would bother trying to find you.
But every temper tantrum has its end, and this particular one seems to be when Bucky’s lips kiss at the bottom hem of your shorts. The room falls into silence as Natasha watches him with eyes wide with lust and your neurotransmitters catch up to your hands running through his thick hair.
“Go ahead, baby,” Natasha says – still in her position on her large chair. “Start your apology.”
Bucky spreads your legs that with a touch that contrasts the rough callouses of his right hand and the tough vibranium of his left. He pushes your panties to the side and sinks a single, metal finger into your tight pussy.
You moan and fall back onto the thick bedding as Bucky wraps his plush lips around your clit.
He’s good at this, much better than you’ve ever had before, and it surprises you. Each nerve in your body feels like a livewire as he slips one finger, and then one more, into your dripping pussy. As he finds that special spot in you your eyes shoot open (when did you close them?) and see Natasha, still sitting across from you, with one hand holding her dress up and the other lazily circling her clit.
You collapse onto the bed with your third orgasm of the night, barely able to catch your breath before Natasha’s instructing Bucky to get up on the bed with you. For a moment you have no idea what you’re supposed to do, not understanding until Bucky’s flat on his back and Natasha’s gingerly running her fingers up and down his length. It’s then that the glint of metal around the base of his cock catches your eye, shining in the low lights of the bedroom. Wow, Natasha really is into this punishment stuff, isn’t she.
“I’m going to have you ride this little slut, now. Are you okay with that?”
Natasha asks this as if it isn’t what you’ve wanted since you were hired at Stark Industries, as if somehow she doesn’t know exactly what you want.
You sink onto Bucky’s cock, moaning as his thickness fills you in a way you’ve never felt before. Deep guttural moans you think may have come from you fill the room as you chase your own pleasure, slamming up and down on the fattest dick you’ve ever taken.
Bucky whimpers as you ride him, face beet-red with eyes scrunched and jaw slack. Each breath comes out in pants, and bits of his dark brown hair stick to his sweaty forehead. Frankly he looks adorable, hands flexing as he aches to touch you.
As you chase your own release Bucky’s fingers ghost over where your legs bend for purchase on the large bed, but soon are slapped away with a tsk from Natasha.
“If you want to touch, slut,” she hisses as she pinches at Bucky’s sensitive nipples. He cries out in pain, curling towards her as the sharp pain spreads through his body. “You need to ask.”
Bucky seems too far gone for that now, though, any noises slipping past his lips far from meeting the standard of spoken language. Still, Natasha seems to take pity on him, and gives him permission to grab at your hips and cup your breasts.
Since you’ve been hired by Stark you’ve spent a substantial part of your down time thinking about Bucky’s metal arm. At first it was purely scientific, wondering how heavy it was and how the internal mechanism operated. After you saw Bucky shirtless for the first time, though, your thoughts went a tad towards the gutter. You wondered if the plates would cut at your skin and more…tender…places, if it made noises when Bucky was working it especially hard.
In particular, you dedicated a considerable part of your brain to pondering whether the arm overheated, or if it had some way to keep itself from burning the flesh of whomever is blessed enough to be on the receiving end of its touch.
Now you know the metal remains whatever temperature Bucky wishes for it to be – or whatever Natasha tells him to change it to. The setting for the night seems to be a few degrees below room temperature, not so freezing as to hurt you but cold enough to leave a trail of goosebumps wherever the metal appendage makes contact with your skin.
With your entire body on fire, Bucky moves to rub at your neglected clit with a cool thumb, such an expected sensation forcing an unexpected but not unwelcome incredibly powerful climax. The man under you moans nearly as loud as you, but his sound much more desperate.
You nearly fall over as you finish for…you don’t even know the number. Climbing off of Bucky seems to be the hardest feat of the night, with your injuries and sore limbs and aching core.
As soon as your back hits the bed and you’ve officially tapped out, Bucky moves closer to Natasha - kissing at her inner thighs before slipping three of his vibranium fingers into her own wet heat. She mms happily, dopey grin spreading across her face as she fucks herself on her boyfriend’s hand.
“So good for Mommy,” she coos. “So, so good for me.”
She cums easily once, then twice, each time a low, steady heat flows through your veins. Though neither one of them touches you, somehow you feel yourself on the brink of another sweet release.
It’s not until you look to Bucky that you feel anything other than complete euphoria. Bucky’s cock is hard as a diamond, and redder than his ass. It looks…painful, and twangs of pity tug at your rapidly beating heart.
“Oh,” Natasha rolls her eyes. “Don’t worry about him dear. This is exactly what he deserves.”
With that she leads Bucky to the floor by the collar you’d forgotten he’d had on, placing on a small throw that had fallen from the bed. She crawls down on the floor with him, balancing on her knees with her back straightened while Bucky hunches over. She may be taller than her standing up, but there’s no way he’d allow himself to be above her here, now, in this place, in private.
“Take it like a big boy, baby,” Natasha tells him, leaving small kisses on the sides of his mouth and along his eyebrows. “Make Mommy proud, show me how much pain you’re willing to take for me.
He mumbles something low to her, something you assume is Russian by the accented whispers. When she releases him, he sinks to the ground, body curling up into itself as he shuts his eyes.
Bucky falls asleep on the ground, rock hard and aching with the cock ring on his dick and the collar around his neck. The lights turn off with a snap of Natasha’s perfectly painted nails like you’re in some perfectly-paced action movie, the darkness enveloping you as suddenly as you realize Bucky still hasn’t come that night.
Natasha seems to read your mind, tsking as she pulls you closer. “Don’t worry about him, libchen. This is his punishment, and he will go through with it.”
You nod silently, noting Bucky’s already fallen asleep with his face pressed against the soft carpet. With that, you allow the fatigue from your injury and the night’s activities to lull you into sleep.

The Aftermath III
“Have you seen the headlines?” Tony asked, looking intently at his daughter. She hesitantly put the screw driver down sensing that something was obviously important for him to be bothering her while working.
“No...should I have?” Piper asked skeptically.
“Listen, before I show you just know that this is meant to be pure gossip. The media needs a story so they make one up off of thin strands of fact,” Tony pulled a folded sheet of newspaper from his back pocket and smoothed it out on Piper’s work bench. “I knew it’d happen eventually but I was hoping not for another few years.“
Piper took the creased paper with care and examined the headline: Young Stark With Girlfriend? Piper scanned the sheet with wide eyes spotting a picture of her with Gen at some science convention they’d been to for fun the past weekend. “This is real?”
“Yes,” Tony nodded, “and chances are it’s not going to stop there.”
“Well, what do I do?” Piper frowned. “We aren’t even dating. This is bullshit.”
“I’m not sure if there’s anything you can do,” Tony sighed, “and if you make a statement denouncing this they’ll either twist your words or make a big deal out of the denial.”
“So I’m just stuck?”
“Yes,” Tony nodded, “but having thick skin will help. I’m telling you about this so you don’t get blindsided by it later. A few pointers I can give you are laugh at the headlines, don’t take them personally, and if you can- confuse the reporters.”
“Whatever,” Piper grumbled, shoving the paper away, “it’ll probably blow over.”
Tony studied her for a moment and knew she wanted to be left alone based on the slump of her shoulders-it mirrored Pepper exactly. “Alright, but if you need anything...”
“I know,” Piper pressed her lips into a thin line.
— — —
She expected things to return to normal fairly soon and kept an eye on the headlines. Unfortunately, that didn’t seem to be the case, and with mild irritation she dressed for the day, made last minute touches to the presentation, and headed out to the Renewable Energy Conference.
She’d promised months ago to offer research and develop a small prototype device that would store energy collected by solar cells. If all went well the prototype would be developed into a large storage system that could very well change the energy industry and lead to a more eco friendly environment.
For most of the ride there Piper zoned out staring intently at the back of the driver’s seat. She felt nervous-well, more nervous than normal-and when they arrived her heart leapt in her throat at the sight of reporters.
With shaking hands she collected the device and the case holding its design prints. Gen had arrived earlier along with Piper’s mom to handle most of the paper work she didn’t understand and they now stood expectantly at the top of the lecture hall steps.
Sucking in a sharp breath, Piper bounded hurriedly up the steps to where they stood, “Let’s get this over with.”
“You know you don’t have to do it if you don’t want to,” Pepper frowned.
“I’ll be fine, besides this is more important than me. It’ll be helpful if everything goes well,” Piper pressed her lips into a thin line.
“Alright, well, they set up the stage so you could present and these are the notes you want to remember,” Gen held out a manilla folder that Piper struggled to take due to her full hands. At last, she resorted to taking it with her teeth.
“Very professional,” Pepper winced. Piper only rolled her eyes and rushed inside not wanting to be late. As promised by Gen, the stage was set with its pull down screen and projector already running.
Heading back stage, Piper quickly reviewed the notes she’d been given before giving the Okay to the manager. Out in front of the stage the crowd slowly quieted and with the manager’s cue Piper walked briskly to the small podium in the corner.
She was aware of the applause but it wasn’t only background noise to her thoughts. Taking another breath to steady her voice she began the rehearsed lines, “thank you all for coming, I would first like to say that it is an honor to be here with such intelligent and creative people. I know we all want to make an impact on the energy industry in a positive manner which also provides a safer choice for the environment.”
The crowd nodded and murmured in agreement. Piper waited for the noise to die down before continuing.
“After many trial and errors I managed to come up with something I think all of you will find interesting,” with a click of the button from her small slide show remote the screen shifted to an image of her prototype, “and hopefully a useful idea. This is a storage cell which can actually absorb not only currently produced energy but extra energy from solar cells. For a while it’s been a problem where energy is created but not effectively used due to the second law of thermodynamics. Well, this will combat the waste that we need to treasure. While only a prototype it’s proven effective under countless tests.”
Piper then switched to a slide showcasing all of the data she’d collected during the trials. She noticed some of the members in the crowd taking notes or exchanging ideas with one another and it seemed they were liking her design. With a bit of renewed confidence she pressed on.
“The material to make these is also relatively cheap and easily manufactured. This allows an overall lower production cost that benefits everyone,” Piper glanced at the screen to see her list of financial receipts. They were well organized and perfectly kept. She’d have to thank her mom and Gen for that later.
As she continued with the presentation all of her nerves disappeared and Piper felt at ease once more. She scolded herself for being so afraid when clearly there was no reason to be.
“Now, I would like to thank a few people for helping make this happen. One of those people is my father who has been very supportive along with my mother who makes sure I don’t lose my head in all of this, and lastly my assistant Gen. Without those three I probably would be up here in my pajamas,” Piper smirked earning a few laughs from the crowd. “With that being said I understand that there is a Q and A portion of this so let’s get at it. I am your source of info.”
At first the questions were relevant and Piper found herself enjoying the discussion clearly in her element. But as time went on the reporters gained more courage and began to drown out the voices of her colleagues.
“Is it true that you have a girlfriend?” One voice called out amongst the swarm.
“That question isn’t relevant to the topic at hand.”
“Do you in fact have an affair going on with your assist-“
“Once again not relevant. I’m not sure you people understand what science is,” the joke made her colleagues roar with laughter but it only seemed to egg on the piranhas with pens and notepads.
“How do your parents feel about this?”
“The device? They love it.”
“That isn’t what I was referring to Miss Stark.”
“You should learn to be more clear in your questions.”
“Are you or are you not gay?”
“That is one ballsy question- and so what?”
The more questions that came the more Piper was aware of how hot she felt. The stage lights seemed to be frying her like a fish and she wasn’t happy about it. The last thing she wanted was to sweat through her clothes but with all that was happening it was nearly unavoidable.
“We have to get her out of there,” Pepper sighed, passing her clip board to a dumb founded Gen. Piper watched as her mom wove through the crowd towards the wings of the stage. She wasn’t sure what the woman had planned but she was all too eager to let her mother take over the microphone.
“Alright, thank you for your useless questions and for ruining a perfectly wonderful presentation. The fact of the matter here is that you have no appreciation for the amount of work and intelligence in this building. The people you have cut off are here for reasons more important than your headlines, and we would like to get back to the discussion at hand for their sake and mine. I’ve had about enough of your repeated idiocy and would be extremely happy - and I believe everyone else would agree-if you took your cheap two dollar pens and left.” Pepper’s words received a chorus of applause and yells of agreement. The other scientists had enough of the pesky reporters and looked like they wanted to stone them.
Seeming to take the hint, the reporters slowly trickled out of the building completely flabbergasted.
“Well said!” Called a husky voice to which Pepper smiled.
“Thank you, now due to the unforeseen circumstances we are actually out of time but I will gladly provide contact information so you can ask Piper anything you wish. She will gladly reply. She’s been very excited over this and it’s an honest shame people ruined it,” Pepper glanced over her shoulder at the rather pale face of her daughter.
When the conference was over Piper sat quietly in the car the whole way home until she was finally in her room. Once there, she fired up her laptop and proceeded to respond to numerous emails from the men and women at the conference.
What surprised her most were the remarks of supporter and apologies on her behalf for the reporters. She didn’t quite understand why the community would feel the need to apologize for them but there was something reassuring about their reaching out.
A soft knock sounded on Piper’s door interrupting her work, “Come on in.”
As expected it was Gen. She seemed rather nervous about something before finally blurting out the words, “I think it might be best if I wasn’t working with you anymore. Clearly it presents some issues that get in the way of-“
“Gen, I’m not going to let some dumbass reporters make me fire my assistant and friend” Piper frowned, “they can go after me all they want but that doesn’t change the fact that you’re probably the only one who can handle the mess that is Piper Stark. If I fire you who else is going to keep up with my stupidity?”
“Piper, I don’t know...” Gen chewed anxiously on her bottom lip, “it just seems that this isn’t a good idea.”
“What isn’t?”
“Us.”
“Why do you say that?” Piper frowned, closing her laptop carefully.
“Like it or not we’ve been avoiding the obvious. And the longer we pretend certain things didn’t happen the worse everything is going to be.” Gen remained awkwardly by the door with her back against it like it was helping her stand.
“None of that meant anything, it’s fine,” Piper waved her hand and opened her laptop again ready to skim through more emails.
“That’s the thing, it did.”This caught Piper’s attention once more. “If I’m being honest, I do have feelings for you. They confuse me and don’t make much sense but they’re there.”
“Oh?” Piper pressed her lips into a thin line.
“Oh? What does that mean?” Gen worried.
“Nothing, I just didn’t know that’s how you felt,” Piper shrugged.
“So, you don’t have anything to say? You’re just going to shrug?” Gen’s timid voice took on a hint of irritation.
“I don’t know what to say,” Piper admitted. “I don’t know how one classifies feelings as romantic or not.”
“I see,” Gen nodded, “well, think on it I guess. I don’t know...”
Piper watched Gen leave looking uncharacteristically flustered. Sighing, Piper distracted herself with work until nearly an hour later someone came barging into her room.
“Piper Stark, you absolute jerk!” Alex frowned crossing her arms.
“Oh no what’d I do?” Piper worried.
Alex kicked the door shut behind her and crossed the room to pry the laptop free from Piper’s hands.
“When someone confesses their feelings for you you don’t just shrug and go back to work,” Alex glowered.
“I didn’t know what to say or do! I don’t even know how I feel,” Piper protested.
“Is it that you don’t know or you don’t want to know?” Alex arched a brow knowing she’d caught Piper off guard. “That’s what I thought. Listen, I get you’re in a tricky spot because of your family name and the media but don’t let it dictate important decisions like this. If you always let external factors dictate things in your life you’re never going to be happy.”
“How do I know if I like someone? You have a girlfriend! Help me out!”
“Oh wow, very observant of you,” Alex snorted looking seriously at her friend, “If Gen disappeared tomorrow how would you feel?”
“Uh, kind of confused, a bit lost, maybe even a little lonely?”
“If you had the chance to have someone else as your assistant would you take them?”
“No, I told her she’s the only one who can keep up with me,” Piper explained.
“Do you think life would be better had you not met?”
“No, of course not.”
“Do you want to take back any moments you’ve had together?”
“That would be dumb and it’s impossible.”
“So,” Alex narrowed her eyes, “You’re telling me you wouldn’t be able to live without her and apparently that doesn’t qualify as having feelings?”
Piper sat there for a moment processing all that she’d said and the more she did the more she realized Alex was right. Not having Gen around would suck ass and frankly Piper didn’t like or tolerate anyone else aside from her.
“I see your point.”
“Good,” Alex snorted, “now go find her!”
Clambering out of bed Piper was pegged on the back of the head by Alex and a pillow. “Dumby!”
“I get it, I get it!” Piper grumbled, wandering around the tower until she located the ever elusive Gen tucked under a car in the garage on a trolley. “Wow, look! I found some legs!”
“Ha Ha very funny,” Came the dry reply.
“Can I talk?” Piper asked setting her foot on the trolley and tugging Gen back out into view.
“I’m listening.”
“I was a jerk and I’m sorry. Alex beat some sense into me with a pillow,” Piper grinned, “so to make it up to you would you want to go on a proper date with me?”
“So you do like me?” Gen asked, arching a brow.
“More or less,” Piper smiled earning a glare in return, “I’m kidding! Yes, I like you.”
“I have half a mind to kick you in the knee,” Gen frowned.
“I probably deserve it, Piper admitted. “But seriously, I am sorry. I’m just a little scared. I’ve never been the center of direct national attention before.”
“Understandable, but it’s okay to be scared. I was when Killian tried to kill us, but you just have to manage it,” Gen explained. “Now, let me finish fixing this and I’ll decide on the date.”
“You think I can’t plan?” Piper scoffed.
“I know you can’t,” Gen smirked, rolling back beneath the car and leaving Piper as confused as she had been at the start of everything.

This is a very good book, way better than the movie could ever hope to be, but the mass market paperback version is complete garbage. The spelling and grammar mistakes in the book are unimaginable – periods in the middle of sentences, all kinds of extra commas that didn’t appear in the original version, dozens of instances of “th” being replaced by “m” (for instance, “mat” instead of “that” and “mere” instead of “there”). The book is incredibly well written but the printer royally f***ed up their job. ABOUT
screenglass.com
Screen Glass
came into existence following a discussion between Edward Eugen and some friends. They wanted to know which Screen Glass was best for gaming. Edward realized there must be a lot of people trying to figure out what “the best thing for X” is.
If you are trying to figure out which product is best for you, we believe you will find 10Beasts useful.
Many people just go with whatever product their friends recommend, without doing any research at all. This is understandable. Not everyone has the time to do their own research and read hundreds of reviews.
That discussion Edward had with his friends about the best gaming Screen Glass ended in an electronic store. They looked at thirty-six Screen Glass. Some were good and some were great. Some were junk, some were very expensive. After spending a few hours in the store, Edward left with nothing except a great idea for a website.

Technology in Education
Tumblr media
Do you want to learn data science? Go to Udemy. What about learning C++? Well, YouTube is where you go. Want to learn how to use a newly installed app on your computer? YouTube. Knowledge has been democratized to such an extent that anyone anywhere with a smartphone or a laptop can learn anything. Free content is flying everywhere in bits and bytes.
And how has it become possible? Technology, cheap Internet and of course a few enterprising teachers who want to make a difference.
In the past few years, there has been a major shift in the way education is imparted. Technology has greatly expanded access to education. It has greatly influenced the way we approach learning. Gone are the days when knowledge was the prerogative of the elite only. Nowadays, massive amounts of information (books, audio, images, videos) are available at one’s fingertips through the Internet, and opportunities for formal learning are available online worldwide.
Tumblr media
Access to learning opportunities today is unprecedented in scope. Technology allows 24/7 access to educational resources. Classes can take place entirely online via the use of a laptop or mobile device. Hybrid versions of learning combine the use of technology from anywhere with regular in-person classroom sessions. In both scenarios, the use of technology to tailor learning plans for each student is possible. Technology that is made use of in the classroom is very beneficial in helping the students understand and absorb what they are being taught. Today, technology has been incorporated into a good number of curricula even those that do not belong to the technology and computer classes.
Online education is now accredited and has changed the way we view education. The effective use of digital learning tools in classrooms can increase student engagement, help teachers improve their lesson plans, and facilitate personalized learning. It also helps students build essential 21st-century skills. During the pandemic, online education is the only source of education for people all over the world. While some believe that the unplanned and rapid move to online learning – with no training, insufficient bandwidth, and little preparation – will result in a poor user experience that is unconducive to sustained growth, others believe that a new hybrid model of education will emerge, with significant benefits. In both the ways it has its own rights. In this uncertain environment, it’s important that learning continues, even if it can’t happen in person. Online education has been beneficial to many people. People in the rural areas are also getting opportunities to learn due to this technology.
Technology has come a far way during these years and no doubt, it has really helped in growing the education sector. Without technology, education wouldn’t have been this easy. We still would have been struggling through the old methods of education. Finding information would mean multiple trips to the library and the bookstore. But, we are lucky that now we don’t need to.

High Time for Cyberlaw Enforcement and a Future of Work Strategy
Huawei has events where it pulls together key analysts to focus on problems it thinks are critical to the future. At its last event, Huawei spoke about two areas that need considerable work.
One is that we need an international cybersecurity commission with teeth before some country accidentally starts WWIII with a cyberattack. The recent SolarWinds attack was a case in point. Allegedly from Russia, this attack penetrated some of the most secure facilities and could have resulted in a catastrophic failure in infrastructure, potentially resulting in mass loss of life. We got lucky this time and may not be so lucky the next.
Huawei CSO Andy Purdy also spoke about the lack of a comprehensive strategy for the future of work post-COVID-19 coming from any country. The EU did develop one, but it severely lacked in needed detail to be used as a guideline for firms like Huawei to build for the future. I did market and business analysis when I was in IBM, and part of that job was to forecast the future so that future products could meet those anticipated future needs.
I later became aware of Intel's Science Fiction Prototyping effort created by my old friend Brian David Johnson, which the DoD utilized though I’m not sure it survived the last administration.
Let’s talk this week about the critical need for centralized cyberlaw enforcement – and international cyberlaws – and the need for a clear vision on the future of work. We’ll close with my product of the week, a new 40" curved monitor from Dell, which may be the ultimate monitor for those of us who work from home.
Global Cyberlaw Enforcement
One of the most interesting talks at this year’s CES was by Microsoft President Brad Smith, who highlighted cybersecurity as a critical threat. He built on Ronald Reagan’s interest in the topic, which came from a fascinating source during his keynote.
The cybersecurity problem – which started back in the ‘80s with kids who could code and had too much time on their hands, and not enough understanding of consequences – has now migrated to nation states that can do significant damage, accidentally or on purpose, attempting to breach other states either friendly or hostile.
This lack of enforceable international cyberlaws and the inability of international regulatory agencies like the United Nations to enforce these laws is problematic. It will likely eventually result in a massive breach, leading to loss of lives, which could almost instantly result in a shooting war.
Smith used the President Reagan example where he asked the general if “War Games” was possible. The answer not only was “Yes,” but it was far worse than what the movie portrayed. As more weapons systems and infrastructure become automated and connected, the opportunity to hijack and control these systems, and do harm, increases dramatically. AIs, according to Brad, substantially increase the risk to nuclear proportions as that old movie showcased.
In law enforcement, we call it due process, where evidence of wrongdoing is presented to a judge entity, who then renders an unbiased decision on guilt or innocence. Right now, a country can move from accusation to punitive response without having to prove guilt. You may recall a while back; an attack was initially thought to be from North Korea that was instead eventually sourced to Russia.
As I noted above, this problem becomes even more critical as AIs come online and control critical systems. Unless nation states can be reliably held to international cyberlaws, we are on a path to playing the Global Thermonuclear War game from War Games – for real.
In the end, I agree that we are well past the time when we should be thinking about cyberthreats the same way we think of nuclear threats, because we don’t want to see the result of a War Games be an outcome in real life.
A Future Office Vision
There is no consensus on the future’s office (with the future being next year), even in the home. We have companies building out massive numbers of video conference rooms under the belief that employees will drive into the office to use them.
The analyst community is almost in rare universal agreement that there is no evidence that these new conferencing rooms will be useful. With people moving farther and farther apart, and COVID-19 restrictions likely to be with us through next year, the idea of driving into the office just for a meeting seems very poorly founded.
Those who need to work centrally will likely need offices that have split systems for HVAC so that infections don’t move from office to office. For the most part, open plan and cubicle offices won’t be viable until and unless we can get COVID risk levels down to where flu risks are – and that seems unlikely with ever-more- easily-spread COVID-19 mutations showing up.
Instead, we should be thinking about how to create and equip COVID-safe office buildings to keep workers protected. There is no doubt we will eventually get there. Still, it would be far better to get this work done and set requirements before companies spend millions redesigning offices as central video conferencing sites that won’t meet those future needs.
But without central direction, companies are all over the map, building things that, odds are, won’t be viable in the future world that’s imminent. That is a lot of potentially avoidable waste.
Wrapping Up
We have two big problems we are dealing with in the technology world right now. One is the growing threat of state-led cyberthreats; the other is that current office designs are no longer possible thanks to the pandemic threat.
Yes, there are other problems that all governments need to get their arms around. Still, these two involve assuring the health and safety of all of us that don’t want to see the alternative ending to War Games – where the missiles are launched – become our future.
The Dell UltraSharp 40 Curved WUHD Monitor
One of the products that was an Honoree of the CES 2021 Innovation Award is the Dell 40" UltraSharp Curved Monitor.
What makes this monitor special is that it is one of the few ultrawides with a 4K resolution. This monitor will take a single cable that will also provide 90W passthrough charging for those living with current-generation Intel laptops with Thunderbolt ports.
Available by the end of January, this monitor isn’t a cheap date at $2,099.99. With a latency of 5ms and a refresh rate of 60 Hz, this monitor is pretty good for gaming, though with 300 nits of peak brightness, it would be best used in rooms that don’t get any sun.
Dell UltraSharp 40 Curved WUHD Monitor - U4021QW
This monitor isn’t targeting gamers, however, and instead is mostly for those that need screen real estate and create content, code, or analyze data. But for the strategy games I play, it is awesome.
By the way, the reasons for large screen monitors rather than multiple monitors are weight and losing the gap between monitors, which I, and I’m sure others, find annoying, especially when it is right in the middle.
For those like me who spend tons of time in front of a screen and need the real estate, this 40" UltraSharp monitor from Dell (some call it the ultimate work from the home monitor) is a godsend – and my product of the week.

Atlanta Music School Lists 5 Best Laptops for Music Production
The Atlanta Institute of Music and Media explains the need for tools and instruments and identifies 5 top music production laptops. AIMM is rated as one of the best Atlanta Music Schools and offers exceptional recording and music production courses. The article stresses the importance of the best technology to produce, mix, and master music.
“Music producers need to utilize the best laptops they can get their hands on so their machines can keep up with their music.”
Tumblr media
The Atlanta school of music suggests using a laptop with a good processor and RAM to be able to tackle multiple tracks. For music producers who are always on the road, AIMM advises using a laptop that can “handle a drop or two as well as wear and tear from being in a bag a lot of the time.” This may include thin and light laptops that are easy to carry around.
The Atlanta music institute shares a list of the top five laptops for music production. MacBook Pro for Music Production tops the list, with 32 GB RAM, 2.6GHz 6-core Intel i7 processor, and up to a 512GB solid-state hard drive. The article lists several features of the MacBook Pro that make it unique while advising budding music producers to avoid the regular MacBooks.
“You can get your MacBook Pro for around $1300 (starting out).”
The second on the list of AIMM top laptops for music production is Microsoft Surface Book 2, which is a tablet and an extremely versatile machine. The top music school in Atlanta rates Surface Book 2 as the best of best with Intel i7 6-core processor, 256 GB of storage, 16GB of RAM, and a 15" touchscreen display.
“If you opt for the 15" display (which is the minimum you should consider) and 256GB of storage, you're looking at about $2000 for the Microsoft Surface Book 2.”
The third on the AIMM list is Lenovo IdeaPad Y700, which gets a top spot for its powerful processor, “a terabyte of storage, serving up impressive speeds for a non-SSD with its quad-core Intel i7 processor.” AIMM states that its amazing graphics card sets it apart from the competition. The laptop comes with only 8 gigs of RAM, and the battery lasts 4 to 5 hours.
“The Lenovo has fantastic processing, and if you happen to be a gamer as well, this laptop is perfect for you. Produce music by day and play a little WoW or Sims on the side.”
Some like-new options are priced under $1000 on Amazon.
ASUS ROG Strix G15 comes next on the list of top laptops for music production. AIMM finds that the ASUS ROG is great for nearly any performance-intensive task with a ton of ports. The laptop comes in 15" model and 17" model. Anybody interested in bigger screens may find ASUS ROG a great option but “You just have to remember that bigger screens can negatively impact your mobility,” suggests the Atlanta school of music.
Last on the AIMM list is HP Spectre X360, which is a beautiful, versatile, and powerful 2 in 1 laptop with a folding 4K touchscreen. “The 15" model with an 8th generation Intel i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and a Radeon RX Vega graphics card is an excellent laptop for any music producer.”
The laptop comes with USB Type-A and 2 USB Type-C ports and an SD card reader and an HDMI port.
“The versatility and price point of the Spectre X360 an excellent choice for a WIndows-based music production laptop. You can order your HP Spectre X36O for about $1150.”
The article lists some minimum specifications that a budding music producer should seek in any laptop. This includes the right CPU, with at least 17 quad-core core and a minimum of 2.2Ghz frequency. Another important requirement is the RAM storage, which AIMM suggests, should be between 8GB and 16GB.
Hard Drive is another important criterion. AIMM recommends a “minimum of 256GB of internal storage and 500GB of external storage.” AIMM suggests 15" of screen size, which is easier to carry around.
As an AVID Pro Tools Training Partner, the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media prides itself on being one of the top music production schools for engineers and producers that want to learn the best insider tips regarding recording, mixing, and mastering.
A budding music producer should try to explore the list of laptops shared on the AIMM top tools and instruments for music production and get the best bang for their buck. AIMM warns, “The last thing you want to do is get stuck with a cheap machine that can handle the simple tasks you need it to perform. You don't want to get a laptop that takes the fun out of your profession.”
