i definitely didn't write as much as i wanted to this year, but here are some highlights i return to when i need a boost.

part 3 of bloody kisses: cinnamon boy

Shane "Dio" Morrissey/Tim Rockford @perotovar is the most gracious figure alive for letting me play with their dolls. I read the first two parts and something in my brain was electrocuted. These two mean so much to me and as the first mlm fic I've written in literal years, it was such a pleasure to expand on Erin's characters and their dynamic.

Joel Miller/f!reader this is probably the number one thing i loved and hated about 2024. Joel is such a complex character with such nuanced behavior, he's very overwhelming for me to write and really get that "Joel tone". Furthermore, bc I write Pedro's specific Joel, I really try to replicate the accent he uses, which is not as Southern as Game!Joel. In any case, I'm really proud of this AU that hopefully manages to feel the same and all together different. I know I can get in my head about these things, so I really appreciate your patience!

Pero Tovar/f!reader there's just something special about this fic for me. i often have these big lofty ideas for multichapter fics that stretch to 90K+ but who has time for that?? this fic was an encapsulation of what i want to write more of: throwing the reader into the middle of the story, with enough history and an established relationship that the stakes feel important and real - but it's literally just a oneshot. (and of course this fic inspired me to outline a ten chapter fic, but sometimes i can control myself.)

🍊 Who’s a character you don’t write for that often, but keep meaning to write for more? (They’re so interesting! But maybe you have trouble pinning them down, or keep getting distracted by another blorbo…)

I want to get back to some of my Pedro Boys. 😖 Especially Marcus Moreno and Ezra and Marcus Pike. I just need to sit down with them again and see where I'm at. 😏 Otherwise, I struggle writing Ghost/Simon from CoD- I don't have any individual fics with him yet. I want to, but I have nothing that's really sparked my thoughts yet beyond having him in addition to at least one other character. But I'll have whole bits of him in some of my universe-building fics, when I get there. Eventually. Maybe. I'd also like to write more Price x OC, but again, he'll get parts in my universe fics, so I'm okay with it right now. (And Useful Girl is still giving me fits.)

🍑 If you could make a connection between your favorite character and another work you care about (whether a crossover/fusion or a wonderfully “pretentious” literary reference) what would it be? How would it work?

Ooh, this is challenging to think of. I think it'd be interesting to put Pedro's characters and CoD together, especially the civil servants - Moreno, Pike, Peña, (I know I'm forgetting some). I don't know how I'd do it though, but that's going to noodle in my brain now lol.

👻 - what scares them

jack - kinda clichee but falling in love with someone most likely. he doesn't want to go through the loss of a loved one again. for something more physical I see him being an absolute whimp about anything horror for some reason. like haunted houses? hell no.

dieter - I see him being terrified of snakes. probably got something to do with a trip gone wrong and him having hallucinated a giant one in his room

oberyn - besides losing his loved ones/his family getting hurt, I don't really think Oberyn is afraid of anything to be honest.

👽 - a headcanon about a weird quirk of theirs

jack - he just has to have his cowboy hat on or he'll feel naked. would probably wear it in his sleep if he could

dieter - less of a quirk maybe but will absolutely check any hotel room/anywhere he stays for hidden cameras and stuff. he ain't gonna be caught doing shit

oberyn - rarely ever calls his lover by their actual name. he always has some sort of nickname ready for them that he uses instead of their real name

💔 - an angsty headcanon

jack - i imagine he has a picture of his highschool sweetheart hidden at home somewhere that he takes out every once in a while just to remind himself of the pain.

dieter - probably knows he needs to get off the drugs and all of that but he just can't bring himself to. either because of other people influencing him or because he really just feels like he can't get out alone

oberyn - definitely blames himself for the death of his sister elia. like 100%, he puts all the blame onto himself for not being able to protect her like he could have back in Dorne and the pain and guilt of it all sits pretty deep

👀👀 what are silva’s and jake’s problematic traits (read the tags on that post and now I’m b curious)

i'm glad you asked 😈 because i think if you expanded on the story, you could make them into very morally gray characters.

to me, jake is someone who isn't necessarily interested in romance or finding someone to share his life with, he's only interested in what silva can give him physically (sex), and that's also maybe partly the reason why he didn't want to spend his life on a farm with silva when they were younger. also jake's gaze immediately goes to silva's ass lmao it feels as if he's only interested in the one thing. he might be using silva for sex tbh.

silva, on the other hand, uses his connection to jake to help his son, but i do think he's genuinely in love with jake, at least his version of love. because if you look at the ending, you could say that silva shoots jake to keep him on his farm so they can finally be together because jake would never stay with him if he had to choose but if he's hurt, he can't leave ...

okay but like… 141 with a partner who has chronic lower back pain.

I feel like Price would notice when you cant bend down mostly cause he likes sneaking peeks at your ass and notice the way your hand reaches around to press into the muscle. “You alright, luvie?” “Yeah. Fine.” He can just tell from the strain in your voice that it hurts, so he gets up and grabs a bottle of lotion. You’ve told him before that you have chronic lower back pain, and sometimes it flares up. Not too bad, but other times you can’t get out of bed. So he takes the lotion and gently guided you to the couch and has you lay down on your tummy as he pushes your shirt up just enough to massage the tender skin, muscles, and aggravated nerves. He might give it a kiss after and then he’ll flip you over and ask for his reward 😉

I headcanon that Simon also has chronic back pain, so he knows all about it. He has all the stuff for it already. Ice packs, heating pads, massage lotion, all the goods. So when you tell him that you have chronic lower back pain, he doesn’t even blink. However, whenever you have a flare up, he is always right there to help. He’s also one to remind you to not do too much just because it feels good today, when you inevitably ignore him and have a flare up so bad you can’t get out bed, he is also the one to take care of your bedridden self. "I told you, luv." "Yeah, yeah..."

Johnny would be the one that you have to sit down with and explain to him your situation, and then he would be like "Oh, yeah! I get that sometimes!" and you have to be the one to break the news that what he feels sometimes, you feel all the time, and you can see it break his heart. Now he doesn't let you do anything the moment he sees your hand on your back. You are ushered to your comfortable bed that he bought after you explained your pain to him, with a heating pad/ice pack for your back, a full water bottle, and the remote for the tv, as well as your phone, in case you need him as he finishes whatever you had to do for the rest of the day. He also does it in half the time... jerk (not really, just a man who is deeply in love with his soon-to-be wife)

Gaz, you see that he gets it. He kind of immediately understands. He does ask for you to trace where the pain is on him, so he can get a better understanding of it. As you spread your fingers to cover the entire area of where your pain would sit on him, or at least a similar equivalent, tracing up and down to where it spreads, he asks what it feels like right now. And you tell him that it's at baseline right now: that you can move fine, it's just with that added pain that you feel every day. From then on, he is aware of whenever flare-ups start. It's fucking weird too, like, sixth sense weird. You could have a normal day, and when you head to bed, you see Kyle laying out your heating pad and placing a water bottle on your nightstand. "What are you doing?" "Just got a feeling, darling." And the next morning, a random flare up, like he fucking thought. "How did you know?" "Cause I know you, darling." Then he'll kiss your forehead and be at your beck and call all day.

If it was a poly!141, I have a feeling that Simon would take point when he could. But if you both are down for the count, Price would take point on making sure that you both have everything you need, stationed in the living room, one on the couch and one on the old recliner that Price tends to populate. And then, at the end of the day, its a huge cuddle pile and movie night.

Hmm, not sure i'm doing this right, but first line of a fic ask:

"Oh. Um, didn't think I'd see you here."

He said, mumbling to himself as he put his hands in and out of his pockets, folding and unfolding his arms nervously like he was suddenly self-conscious.

You held your cell phone you had in your hand, the house keys hooked onto your finger rattled, "I sent you a message I'd be coming by to get my stuff."

His hands finally found a home in his jacket pockets again, you wondered if it was to stop himself from reaching out for you. Because right now you were finding it hard not to reach out to him yourself, almost two decades together would do that.

He stood silently still in the doorway, "I miss you." he said, finally breaking the silence between the two of you.

"I know," you sighed, then tension in your shoulders heavy, "I know you do, Frankie."
