Shit, sorry I'm late! I didn't initially plan on participating in @lazyvoyager's prompt since I couldn't come up with anything. Right until a day ago, as I was lying in bed, me brain went 💡

This man is not a real human!!
He's five racoons in a trench coat.
ok, i keedzy
He was just jumping zoo enclosures to pet all the animals.
That is, until he got to the terrarium and decided to snatch some residents. For a walk, not permanently! No clue what this "burglary" charge is about.
Anyway, good times. Cop shop seemed like a decent place to commemorate the occasion with a group photo. 👍👍👍
Gonna make a magnet out of it to slap on Rangers' fridge.

06.24.22 chuckwalla >:-) fun thing I learned while drawing this one - they’re primarily herbivorous and are known to eat creosote bush; there’s a clonal colony of this bush in the Mojave desert named “King Clone” which has been alive for around 11,700 years!
[ID: an illustration of a chuckwalla - a desert lizard - on a light teal background, surrounded by creosote bush leaves and flowers. It’s eyes are narrowed and it’s tail is curled under it. End.]

“Bone Dry”
Watercolor and graphite on hot pressed paper, 10x14.5”
For this assignment I could paint anything I wanted on a smallish piece of hot pressed watercolor paper. This paper absorbs very quickly so it’s not as easy to blend colors, but I could achieve very smooth lines and get my colors darker sooner. I basically did a full shaded drawing in pencil before painting too, which helped me get a lot of fine details in. I am so happy with how this came out! I’ll definitely pursue this technique again for when I want to achieve this level of realism.

I was out hiking and tried to get a shot of this cool arch rock formation at Joshua Tree National Park. This guy was climbing out of the rocks right as I took the picture. Oh well, you are in MY feed now 🤣🤣🤣
In the landscape shot, zoom in and you can see his partner in the middle (looking at me).
Also, check out the Chuckwalla that I saw on my hike. This was my first time seeing one IRL. So cool!! 😲
